The Wedge Scouting Report: Noah Spence, LB/DE

Blew up another planet and exterminated another entire species last week!

BOOM!

I’m a Superstar Intergalactic Agent.  One of the best!  A planet destroying award winner with an outstanding record of destroying lifeforms!

But things weren’t always so great for me…I’m ashamed to admit…that once days were dark for me…You see I used to be addicted to Hapkomah Dice.

Everyday I used to play the dice.  I don’t know what it was, I didn’t always win.  Actually I lost a lot – but the risk, the risk was a rush.  There’s nothing like those dice in your hands, right before you role WOW…I miss it.

wedgeDiceFace

I used to dream about the dice…every morning…every night…for breakfast…for lunch…for dinner.

GIVE ME THE HAPKOMAH DICE

Um…I guess I developed kinda a problem

I guess you can say I was an addict.

And then…ROCK BOTTOM.  I was strung out.  I forgot to launch and missed a deadline to destroy an entire galaxy we were planning to eliminate for a millennium.

StrungOut Wedge

Well no big deal…we blew up that galaxy a year later and I gave up the dice.

Sort of reminds me of Ohio State…no Eastern Kentucky pass rusher Noah Spence

NoahSpence6

If you don’t know by now Noah Spence is one of many pass rushers available in the 2016 NFL draft.  And he was kicked out of Ohio State for positive drug tests.

Before he was kicked out of Ohio State, Spence was a starter for the Buckeyes in his very first year, not easy to do on that talented team.  In 2013 Noah Spence compiled 52 tackles, and 8 sacks in 12 starts.

NoahSpence4

But 2014 was not so smooth for Spence.  He was suspended for his bowl game and the first two games on 2014.  Then he tested positive again a second time in 2014.

Spence’s problem was with ecstasy.  He openly admitted he had a problem and went into a drug treatment program.  Spence had to watch the Buckeyes make history and win the 2015 College Championship on TV like the rest of us.

NoahSpence2

He didn’t come out in the 2015 draft through.  Spence transferred to little ole’ Eastern Kentucky.  What can I tell you about Eastern Kentucky?  Well I think its on the Eastern side of Kentucky and Noah Spence played there for a year.

And did he ever play.

In 2015 Noah Spence had 11.5 sacks and was a force on the field.

He bounced back!  Just like me!

NoahSpence7

So why should an NFL team take a chance Spence?

Well if 6-3, 252 pounds with speed doesn’t excite you…then you should find your way to the next planet I destroy…because you are not alive.

But do you want to spend a high pick on a guy with that checkered history.  Spence is expected to go in the first two rounds of the NFL draft.

NoahSpence5

So he is quite a risk.

Which also reminds me of dice…

If Noah Spence was a Alien Weapon of Destruction, he would be the deadly

Hapkomah Dice!

I hate you Hapkomah Dice…But I love you too.

Piggy, yes, on Trump. He has his warts, as we all do. Personally, I think he’s a weird looking, braggadocious ass.
But he got tired of seeing this country being sold to the highest bidder, and not a government of the people, by the people, & for the people.
He’s an outsider in a sense. The Bush’s, Clinton’s, Rubio’s, Cruz’s were groomed into their roles. Where did they really deserve credit for? And what lifetime of service???

It sickens me every time I see a pic of Dubbya Bush walking around holding hands with his Saudi buddies. Yeah, the ones that his family is in business with> Yeah, the ones that he & Jeb got flown out of the country on 9/11 after all other air traffic was ordered to halt. Yeah, the Saudis that have a horrendous human rights record.

Time for a non-coddled bought Pol to take a seat at the helm. If Trump got elected, then he can surround himself with the best, sincere, honest, non-corrupt cabinet in the country. That would set us on the right course. That and a complete overhaul of the longtime legislation, err potted plants.

Time to shake it up. This BS has been going on for decades!
I think Trump is the only one willing to do it. Believe me, I’ve researched this a lot, before I go spouting off at the mouth.
I’m not going to fall in line with the narrative, and seemingly, neither is Trump.

      GDP

Trump is the the highest bidder
      He always has been

      He’s not an outsider
He’s just hasn’t used his fortune to run for office

      Trump isn’t an idealist
      He’s an opportunist
All those things you hate about the establishment will be amplified with trump

He just hasn’t been in position to do it yet

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

He’s running away with the popular vote & has spent a 10th of what the others have…..and with his money. Not the money of special interest.

Yes, he was a special interest before, when he’d give money to those same policy for hire candidates, when he needed a big real estate deal to happen. So he knows how they operate from the other side.

Will he be genuine, or fall corrupt is anyone’s guess.
But I’m at least willing to break the mold of the past 40yrs!
If I’m wrong, then so beit, more of the same old shit sandwiches we’ll be served by the others anyways!

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        I wasn’t happy with anyone

But I’m not running into the arms of a guy who says anything to rile people up and has no idea what to do when he gets into office

      The problem is
      Trump is no different
He is just presenting himself to be

I’m all for 3rd party candidates

But this guy tapped in to the republican base by telling them what they want to hear and has no idea how to deliver
Even worse – he won’t deliver

His campaign is not about his ideals
      He has none

  5. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Anyways, I like you Piggy. I’m not here to fight about politics. Just trying to raise some key points as you have.
All is good….well, except for that crackhead Noah Spence. 😛

  6. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    Politics is a dirty business.

  7. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Piggy, they all say anything and everything to get elected. I too am an independent, and lean towards libertarianism with a mix of conservatism.
Rand Paul was another that also scares the ruling cabal, but he got blackballed right away, cause they knew he was coming. They did the same to his dad in previous elections.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Trump was very much a part of blackball ing Paul

      Paul hates Trump BTW
Probably more than any of the other candidates do

  8. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I will give you an example of Trump BS

He insists that Mexico will pay for the wall in the border

When he was challenged how we pay for that wall – he cited a trade deficit with Mexico
And I guess it went over everyone’s head
    Bc everyone left it alone
But a trade deficit doesn’t create a surplus of funds to spend

A trade deficit means we import more than we export (in this case with Mexico)

So what – how does that lead to Mexico paying for the wall?

But trump waives a magic wand and no one dissects it
If we really built a wall it would costs US tax payers so much
And trump probably gets to put his name on it and profit from it

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

We can also cut off all the subsidies to Mexico, and raise the tariffs on their exports, like he said about China. Both of their leaders are crying out of bounds, unsportsmanlike conduct…LMAO!

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

That will cost us billions of dollars

If you raise tariffs on exports you hurt American businesses

Raising tariffs is about as anti – capitalism as it gets

Free trade between countries generally leads to a good thing

But if you want to pay twice as much for a bottle of tequila and call that “having Mexico pay for the wall” be my guest

Trump is gonna raise the price of Chinese and Mexican goods?

We haven’t really raised tariffs since before Reagan
It’s probably not an effective way to raise revenue
There is a global market for China and Mexico to go to

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

There is a lot of that with him. So who should be our next president?

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        Anyone else

He selling fantasies to the American public
Like selling the trump university students he fantasy that they would be real estate moguls

        That is what trump does

Only cause Trump stole his thunder, has basically his same platform in many areas, and the money to surge ahead.
He’d be smart to make Paul a VP if it came to that.

  10. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

lol, yep that damn trump (who i dont support btw) how dare him say something and not be honest. hell he should be honest like himary. btw, did himary ever say how she was going to pay for free college for everyone. she is probably just going to pimp billy out to pay for it

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Sanders is offering free college not Clinton

      And sanders is a socialist
It’s pretty consistent with all of his politics

He’s going to tax the highest brackets

It’s a stupid idea and classic class war

But he’s serious about what he says

  11. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    piggy

i am not getting into any political debate but i do find it quite unlike you to not see the same things you say about trump hold true to every other candidate out there.

well not me if i am elected it is free bacon for everyone.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

None of the others started a fraudulent university

You guys get Febles deep into cynicism if you want to uplift Trump

But other candidates to have ideals
And they have haotirues you can check against those ideals

      Trump is much different
He is playing a game of how can I get as much attention as possible

He’s making the praise trial race into a circus

  12. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

We haven’t really raised tariffs since before Reagan

    —————–

The problem isn’t raising tariffs is removing them, that’s why all of these business are building new factories in Mexico and China, like Ford and Courier.

Bill Clinton is responsible for removing the tariffs for imports, it put my dad’s business out of business, basically the entire industry is now gone.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I assume you are taking about nafta

Nafta follows a strong of other free trade agreements
It really was the trend in international trade and has been seen Reagan

Nafta has a lot of negative results

Fwiw I have not heard trump propose implemtning tariffs
The idea that Mexico will pay for the wall sounds a little crazy to me
But the way way I can see it is is by implementing tariffs on imports from Mexico or China
I still don’t think that works

The trend for decades now is to not instruct international trade

  14. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    piggy

i agree with you about trump…..oh yeah and himary and sanders and cruz and everyone of them

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

They are not the same FFROb

      The others have consistent politics
Trump is all over the place saying things to get himself attention

If you think they are all the same you are just not looking at the facts

  15. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Hillary and Bill should both be in jail.

  16. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    piggy

they are all the same in that they are only interested in themselves and they all say whatever it takes to get elected without any support of how they will get something done.

and if you cant see them all doing that then ok, no need to keep discussing it

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

You are just relying on generalizations to avoid looking at the facts

I don’t see anyone else suggesting building a wall another country will

No one else exploited the bankruptcy laws for his own gain while killing the economy of Atlantic city

No one else created a university and is being sued by the attorney general

No one else was fined 1m by the us giant dollars for hiring illegal immigrants and exploiting low we ages that ways

There are factual differences between a trump and everyone else

You are just not discussing them and instead are generalizing and expressing a cynical point of view (which I also share) but trust me

I hate politicians as much as the next

Trump is a whole different animal

He is as bad as it gets

Yep, the financial backing of guys like Rubio, Cruz, Berny & Hillary are huge. Jeb had it too, but as you mentioned, they bailed on him since Trump scared him & his brother about the classified missing 28 pages on the 9/11 report.
So now there monies are going to the candidates above, both Dem & GOP. You know, the ones they can control. Puppets on a string.
    ———————————————————————–
I don’t want to spoil your hopes of Donald Trump being elected but its not going to happen. The GOP is going to split the 2 party system into a 3 party system so Trump has no chance of winning. He will go down in history as the person who helped create the 3 party system into mainstream politics in the US. Who knows maybe they planned it that way. I Wouldn’t be surprised if its Bush/Rubio ticket or Bloomberg/Bush ticket.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I hope the do create a 3rd party system. The democrats promote what your country can do for the poor, and the republicans promote the rich get richer. We need a 3rd party for the middle class.

  18. D's avatar D says:

Bullard had a 1.66 10 yard split that’s a good stat for DE

  19. D's avatar D says:

GDP if you think Trump won’t be controlled you need to think about that statement. A leader that can’t be controlled is called a dictator. You sure that what ya want. I mean that’s practically what we have now, you want more of that and potentially at a higher level?

    • D's avatar D says:

Lots of things I hear people tout Trump for are really bad things for leader of a democracy. Very very bad. Same for Sanders. I understand the anti establishment movement but there is a worse case out there and currently a lot are being suckered in by a gigantic con artist

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Wow, you go from not having to pay off favors to being a dictator. That makes no sense, because we still have 2 other branches to combat a dictator. Sure the president still has executive (Obama) order, but it’s not the same power as a dictator has.

  20. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

This morning Trump tried to pretend he didn’t know what the KKK, David Duke or white supremacy was so he didn’t have to disavow their vote publicly

Don’t tell me he is just like other politicians

Any of them would have answered this question and disavowed white supremacy

I watched John McCain shoot down supporters who called Obama a Muslim when he was running for president, McCain refused to feed of racists to get votes

    Trump is a different story

Not the same as every other politician guys
    Much more loathsome

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

What does not disavowing white supremacy have to do with anything that Trump might do after he gets elected? McCain didn’t win, so maybe he should’ve been a little smarter.

After super Tuesday, if one of the piss boys don’t make a run at it, it’ll be all over.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        McCain had integrity
        Trump does not

Trump is exploiting racism by proposing to do things that will never happen

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I don’t get why the tax records are so important. Trump uses the law to his advantage, if that means using bankruptcy so be it. Back in 2008 the highest percentage of people that were letting house loans foreclose were the rich, because they’re smart enough to get out of a bad deal. I don’t blame someone that uses the law to their favor.

When he gets into the White House I’m not going to care either, if he uses what’s at his disposal to get things done (foreign affairs), actually I’d be disappointed, if he didn’t. You’d much rather have our president have a conflict of interest when dealing with foreign affairs, like Hillary will have, because of all the money she’s been paid by foreign nationals.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I know he uses the law to his advantage

        Plenty of people do not

I don’t want a present that does stuff for his own advantage without regards to the consequences around him

These guys are supposed to work for us

You think trump is going to wake up as president and pretend to care about anything else than his own gain?

FYI his bankruptcy wasn’t in 2008…well one of them was
But his first 2 of 4 were in 1991 and 1992

        When a corporation declares bankruptcy
It has a huge detrimental effect in the economy around it
But trump doesn’t care about that
He took advantage of the laws as you say
        He is worth billions
And others who were dependent on him struggle
        What a great leader!

  21. D's avatar D says:

  22. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Steph Curry last night in front of a national audience was absolutely sick. After going out in the 3rd qtr with an ankle injury, he came back and lit up the Thunder in the last 16 or so minutes.

  23. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I had hoped Rubio would have been the guy, but somehow, Trump holds on to the GOP lead. I don’t think Rubio is great either, and he’s too beholden to some of the right wing shit that will keep the GOP out of office most likely forever, because it’s ridiculous. This no abortion thing is ludicrous, especially when they also include rape or incest. The fuck a stupid political party belief should determine whether a woman who is raped should have an abortion. Honestly, I feel like any woman should be able to have an abortion, I really do. I think the population is large enough already, and if a woman doesn’t want the child, when she should have the right not to. I wonder how these idiots would feel if men carried the baby instead of the woman.

All that being said, I would still vote for Trump over Hillary Clinton or Sanders. Clinton should be in prison, and Bernie is way too far left for my tastes.

    • D's avatar D says:

He’s a socialist who doesn’t even understand what that means lol. I’m not voting for Trump no matter what. I won’t vote at all if it comes down to Trump being GOP nominee. I can’t vote for someone I don’t believe in

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        I’m actually considering not voting
But I will probably vote for anyone other than Trump

        I could vote for Rubio
I don’t really like him and don’t care for a lot of right wing politics
But I would trust him as a president
        I would trust Hillary too

I don’t trust trump at all
And I don’t really like socialism so I don’t really want sanders but I have respect for sanders

  24. D's avatar D says:

Steve it’s not about paying off favors it’s about his insurance on doing whatever he thinks desire the public’s feelings on it. Majority of the US does not agree building a wall is the right method. Majority of the US does not agree with targeting all Muslims as potential threats. There are ways to protect the country and not promoting anti American ideals as solutions for it. If the country is still truly a democracy you should have a guy who listens to the majority of his constituency when doing what he dies. He has shown he doesn’t give a shit about that and instead will do what he wants. That’s not what we need

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It’s really not a feasible plan

We are not 3rd century China trying to keep out barbarians
      It’s just a stupid idea
Even if trump was elected it won’t happen

  25. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I remember reading some scouting reports on Bosa that he’s on the ground too often, and sure enough, during a simple drill, the drill where they slam two bags and then make a sharp turn around the corner and sprint, he hits the 2nd bag, and whoop!, his legs go right out from underneath, and down goes Bosa!

  26. D's avatar D says:

Piggy it’s not just DT’s the pass rushers are pretty deep too. In all honesty a few of the “DT” are capable at DE as well. Bullard, Jones, etc they had good 10 sec splits so they have the short yardage speed numbers to get to the QB around the outside

  27. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Steve

    For the record
    I’m not endorsing Hillary
I would hope that the republicans don’t nominate Trump
And we have a choice of two reasonable candidates
Wth real ideas that can happen
Instead of trump who sells fantasies to people for his own personel gain

  28. D's avatar D says:

Bullard looked really good in the drills and did better in the 40 than I had expected.

  29. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I hear JJ Watt comparisons with Bosa too
And I just don’t think he is that level of athlete
    Albeit I’m impressed with Bosa
He doesn’t come off as very agile when I watch him

  30. D's avatar D says:

    Lawson 1.66 20 yard split on his 4.7 40

  31. D's avatar D says:

  32. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

You can always vote for a 3rd party candidate come election time

  35. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  36. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

Trump says some absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing things, and I hate his personality, he needs to be ass kicked real bad. At heart though, I think he’s pretty moderate, maybe even a little more left. The wall is absolutely retarded, and saying we’re sending anyone back to Mexico is pretty unrealistic IMO. I don’t see how it happens. Like I’ve said though, I’d take Trump over Hillary or Bernie in a heartbeat. Trump will get qualified people to advise him, and that should be enough to keep him in check.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      But that’s his thing

      Saying things to get publicity
      It’s just not real

I like to know who I’m voting for when I vote

It’s like a reality show with trump
I feel like he is just trying to make it to be the last man standing by throwing others under the bus

I can’t believe we are down to this in American Politics

I really don’t know if Trump is left or right
He doesn’t really talk to much about policy
He talks about how good he is and his experience making deals…lol

I need to hear him talking about substance

  37. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

When they do that drill from the ground, go left/right back/forward run, I wonder why so many guys go so hard and deep to one side when they know he’s going to pull them back the other way, they should really shorten their route especially after seeing others do it.

  38. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

What I take from Trump is he’s made his money, so what he did in the business world for personal gain won’t affect what he’s going to do as president. What he will bring are the negotiating skills to get things done, and he doesn’t crack under pressure like Rubio. If you have a president that can’t negotiate and make deals with congress, then you have Obama that says I’m going to take my ball and go home, and when I get home I’m going to use executive order to get what I want.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think you have to judge ask actions at some level

If it’s some one with a background in politics
You are going to look at how they addressed key issues

I don’t want some one who has been pro choice to certainly be pro life
I usually call bs on that

With trump you have to look at how he conducted himself in business bc he dos t have a political past

I would rather judge on actions then what some one says

And trumps actions are loathsome in my eyes
He is just a despicable person
      I’m genuinely disgusted by him

The trump university stuff is just stomach turning to me

I hate to see young people taken advantage of like trump did

  40. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

ROGER STONE: I agree with William F. Buckley, the founder of the National Review, who once said, ‘I’m for the conservative candidate who can win.’ Donald Trump has crossover appeal to blue-collared Democrats, to African-Americans, to non-Republicans because he is free to criticize both Republicans and Democrats. That’s why potentially he is the strongest candidate.

I first met him, by the way, when I was organizing Ronald Reagan’s campaign in New York in 1979 and he and his father were raising money for Ronald Reagan. So don’t tell me he hasn’t been on the frontlines, because he has.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t think k Donald Trump has crossover appeal
I think a lot of independents will be saying “anyone but trump” even if it’s trump vs Hillary
      On the other hand
I think they say “anyone but Hillary” if it’s Hillary vs anyone else

Trump is the most hated politician out there right now
I think there is a recent poll on it

      Some people love him
But a lot hate him with passion – like me…lol

  41. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Here you go Steve

  42. D's avatar D says:

I think there have been guys who have helped and hurt themselves in the combine do far. Nkemdiche interview was a combination of v genuinely remorseful for his actions and yet it was somewhat surreal in the fact it just had a crazy vibe to it. The talent is there, like I would compare him most talent wise to Watt of anyone, but there then is the questions around him. I dunno, I know he would be a day 1 starter, I know he would better our team, but I’d have to be certain of his personality to take him at 8. In the second round it’s a no brainer. I think though Bullard offers almost the same level talent without the risk

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah Nkemdiche was supposed to be the best DL in the country and they say he never really lived up to it even though he flashes dominance. So what kind of guy is he, does he not play 100% all the time?

      • D's avatar D says:

Not sure though the game he got shut down the most was against Tretols who I think out massed him lol. 330 with good technique against a 290ish guy. 40lbs makes a big difference

  43. D's avatar D says:

It may be the look of nkemdiche to be Frank. Big guy crazy hair just kinda looks captain insaneo

  44. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Piggy, with Trump’s brash personality, I can see why you or others not be able to stand him. Well, actually, you said hate. Such a strong word.
But you really lost me when you said earlier here that you “trust Hillary”. 😯

  45. D's avatar D says:

Nkemdiche will be best at DE in the NFL with the upside of being able to slide inside on some plays.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah I’ve thought about him at LDE next to Suh then he could move inside at times on long distance downs with Wake coming in at LDE.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It doesn’t bother me that he fell out of a window when he was drunk

But he did get a marijuana poss charge when that happened

  46. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Not a lot of speed from the DL. Shaq Lawson had one of the best 40 times at 4.7. That puts him further up the board. He’s faster than Spence 4.8 and he’s bigger. I wasn’t expecting Lawson to run that fast, I thought he’d be closer to 4.8. Add his 4.7 speed to his 6-3 270 frame and college production and you have a nice 4-3 DE. He’s definitely an option for us at #8 depending on how our in-house DE situation pans out prior to the draft. Wake, OV, Shelby, Fuckface etc.

Tapper 4.59, Ogbah 4.62 and a few other guys in the 4.7s but most are 4.8 or higher. There’s a lot of 5+ for DTs.

  47. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I thought Ogbah looked good even though mccay said he looked a little stiff

  48. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

  49. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Yannick Ngweki is an interesting prospect too

I just can’t spell his name

  50. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Piggy, it doesn’t bother me that Nkemdiche smokes the ganj as long as he realizes you can’t once you’re in the NFL. A lot of players in the NFL smoke it, I saw a thing about it on Real Sports. Just don’t get suspended for it. That’s reportedly what Fuckface’s issue is.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Dion FF’s issue I think extended beyond just weed.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Hyde just had a somewhat dumb article reflecting on Ireland that has nothing to do with where we’re at now and revealed Jordan had ganj issues. So I’m just going on that. I never really heard anything specific before other than PED rumors.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I can’t judge some one for smoking weed

  51. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Go to 1:27 on this vid and watch what he does to the OG

  52. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Piggy, ever hear of or listen to the SFla business radio station 880am The Biz?

  53. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I like the idea of Nkemdiche at DE
But he is a nightmare inside

I do think that can work

wake – Suh – Phillips Nkemdiche

    Phillips out on 3rd down
    Nkemdiche goes inside
And you play a speedy DE like McCain or even fuckface on 3rd down

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I think Wake is going to end up more of a pass rush specialist moving forward and that’s how I think he should be used. Maybe 25 snaps per game to let him just get after the QB. A guy like Nkemdiche can play LDE in base and move around on long distance downs. He would help our run defense and pass defense.

  54. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I like Nkemdiche better than Bosa

  55. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

So there is some word out there that we’re going to employ the ‘wide 9’ defensive scheme which is used to limit double teams and really no triple teams. It creates more space between defenders but you have to have quick DL and LBs to play it because it’s vulnerable to draws, counter traps and the read-option with more athletic QBs. This is one way to get Suh in more one on one matchups. If you double him a LB should have a free lane to the backfield.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

That’s makes those aggressive LBs like Scooby, Jack, a healthy Jaylen smith, Darron Lee Deion jones

      That much more valuable

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Forget a healthy Jaylon Smith, it’s already been decided he’ll miss the 2016 season due to nerve damage in his knee and foot. But yes quick reacting LBs is what we need.

  56. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

A slaty pig tear sheds for jaylon smith
    (Piggy raises a trotter)

    Never forget

Okay so now he is a 4th rounder…

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Some teams have taken him completely off their boards.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

At the earliest. Remember teams have to pay him to do nothing for a year and there’s no guarantee he’ll heal properly. It’s another Marcus Lattimore situation. The 49ers did take a flyer on him in the 4th though.

  57. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

How did Dodd & Ogbah do in the 40? But to me, I’m more concerned with their split times, cone drill, broad jump & verticals.

  58. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

WOW, Ogbah 4.63. This kid could be special once he gets more experience to the position.

  61. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Ogbah is someone that I had my eye on for awhile. He really jumped out to me early on.
A sleeper guy that doesn’t get talked about is Dadi Nicolas from VaTech. He was a top prospect in 2014, but stayed in college and had a down year in 2015.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

After I read his scouting report and they said he has the physique of a praying mantis, I was turned off. lol

He should be there @ #8 too.

  65. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

LOL @ Mike on praying mantis

We really need to hit on a DE, LB and CB in this draft. We need good young players in all phases. We can upgrade some areas in FA but we need to add guys at these positions. Our DE depth is very cloudy right now. We actually have more answers at LB and DB at this time.

  66. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

This might help us in that Wide 9 defense

  67. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m a big Darron Lee fan too
    That guys is for real

Would love to get him in the 2nd round
But I don’t see him falling there

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah I like Lee too but some fans don’t like him much like Lou and I believe Dbolt. I think he’s strictly a WOLB though and we have Jenkins and Hewitt who I think has upside. That said, Jenkins has some position flexibility and Hewitt could probably compete on the strong side as well.

In the Wide 9 Misi would likely only be an early down MLB who attacks and anchors against the run. But I’m not sure yet if we’re going to keep him. My biggest issue with Misi is he has broken down at some point the last few years. Not sure he fits anymore at almost $5M per. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he was back.

  68. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Tim, I disagree. I like Shaq Lawson, but just think Dodd turns out to be the better NFL DE.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Well Lawson has always been ranked higher than him and he’s much faster. I want speed on the edge in a 4-3 Wide 9. It screams for it. A UFA like Bruce Irvin is a good fit in that defense. He can play OLB and rush the passer off the edge.

  69. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Sua Cravens not running
    😦

  70. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  71. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

They just compared Leonard Floyd to Dion Jordan

    Take him off our board!!!

  72. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Kris Frost plays as slow as he runs the 40

  73. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I want to see these athletes compete. Shying away from drills is a cop-out. Go for it, train hard and show what you’re made of

  74. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Why even go to the combine and not do the drills? Let some other prospects willing to participate go there. It is BS!

    Perry had some big strides

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      He looked like Kapernick…lol

Seriously he looked like he spent months training for the 40
He ran like a track guy with that stride

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Like Mayock said, he’s an old school LB. The Giants always had LBs like him. Big guys who can run.

  82. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

Agreed on Ragland. Just don’t want too slow

  83. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

4.7 plenty good enough for Ragland

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yep! He’s going to be a core defender for some team for a decade. I’d be fine with him. He’s a good football player. He’s an excellent tackler.

  88. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Perry looks likes he trained to run the 40 for months

Scooby looked like a penguin trying to fly
Did you see his arms flap…wtf!!!

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He’s ready to make a tackle.

That’s why he’ll be a 3-4 rd pick. Speed for LBs does mean something. The same for edge rushers, DBs and offensive skill players. They run a lot, how could it not mean anything? The 40 shows how well a guy can move his body in a pure sprint. It doesn’t measure instincts and toughness etc., but we all know that though.

  89. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

I think Perry just has long strides. You can’t learn that, that’s just how you run. He runs very well, but a lot of times, those long striders have trouble changing direction well.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He looks like a 3-4 OLB to me. Big guy who can pressure the edge and do some dropping in coverage. He looks like the classic 3-4 OLB like LT and Banks.

  90. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’ve expanded my defensive with list at #8.
    Ramsey
    Jack
    Lawson
    Bosa
    Ragland

We will have a chance at one of these prospects. Only two others can go before us. QBs and Tunsil/Stanley?

  91. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

MORE GOOD NEWS from Boca Raton. FAU’s nationally ranked baseball team just completed a 3-game sweep of Long-EYE-Land University by outscoring the Blackbirds 26-6 over the three games. The Owls, who started their season with a sweep of then-11th ranked Mississippi State in Starkeville, are now 7-0 on this very young season. Next up is a three game series vs. the Georgetown Hoyas, followed by games against St. Joseph’s of Philadelphia and Rutgers. 97. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

OLB Joe Schobert was really quick in that obstacle drill at 6-1 244. He was a 4th rd prospect who may now go 2-3. He was the best I’ve seen so far. Compare that to Scooby embarrassing himself and I feel bad for him.
