Quite a familiar sight for Dolphins fans, really since Tannehill has been the QB. I know some of you think it’s all Tannehill’s fault, and that’s fine, but I for one don’t believe that to be the case. Too much pressure, too often and no containment. Seems like almost every drop back, someone loses containment on their man, and over the last 2 seasons, there really were good reasons for that. Injuries depleted our O-line and the depth we had wasn’t up to the task. Whether it was Brandon Albert injured, or Ja’Wuan James, or Mike Pouncey, it’s been rare to have those 3 former 1st RD picks on the field together. One good nugget of info uncovered by the infamous Omar Kelly is this. When those 3 have been healthy and on the field together, Ryan Tannehill, and the Dolphins are 6-1. Some will scoff at this small sample, and that’s fine too, people will always see what they want, and contrarily ignore what they don’t. I think it’s unfortunate that we have such a small sample, and if you think about it, this doesn’t even address the shoddy OG play. Imagine if we had better OG’s than Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner or Jamil Douglas. It could happen as early as this season, because the NFL draft is only about 2 weeks away!
First, let’s take a look at we currently have on the roster. At LT, Brandon Albert is the starter, and OT’s Jermon Bushrod (Bears) and Sam Young (Jaguars) were brought in as depth for both tackle positions, as both of the aforementioned players have played both. At C we have Mike Pouncey, and backing him up is OG/C Jamil Douglas, and Jacques McClendon. At OG, last years starters were a mix of LG Dallas Thomas and Jamil Douglas, and RG Billy Turner and Jamil Douglas. At RT, I’m assuming a healthy Ja’Wuan James will return as the starter at RT, now that his dislocated toe injury appears to have healed. Jason Fox is thankfully no longer on the roster, but my lord, is it about time we shore up the depth at OT or what? Why every year do we get a turnstile at RT like Marc Colombo or Jason Fox? Ya think maybe it’s time we invested in some quality depth on the O-line?
The 2016 NFL Draft leaves us with plenty of options, so let’s take a look at some of the players that might help us this season and beyond. I’m going to put them ALL on the table, because you never know if we want to trade up, although it’s unlikely.

Ole Miss LT Laremy Tunsil 6’5″ 310
Laremy Tunsil is the premier offensive tackle in this draft, and will most likely go top 5, if not #1 to the Tennessee Titans. With Branden Albert on our roster, unless they have discussed with Albert moving inside, which Albert has played before to OG, the Dolphins drafting Tunsil is even more unlikely. He is the best prospect though, actually the highest rated prospect by NFL period, but a Dolphin he will not be.

Notre Dame LT Ronnie Stanley 6’6″ 312
Ronnie Stanley is the next highest rated LT prospect. Still a slim chance that he falls all the way to #13 but he is in range to be taken somewhere in the top 10, or slightly beyond. That puts him in striking range for a reasonable trade up should we want him. Again, unlikely we trade up for an OT, but it’s possible. Stanley would also not be a candidate to move inside and is really a pure LT.

Michigan St. LT Jack Conklin 6’6″ 308
Jack Conklin is definitely a realistic possibility at #13. The Michigan St. LT is a real throwback player, spitting nails and exhibiting toughness. One of my favorite quotes of this whole draft was an NFC North scout, who said about Conklin “He’s tougher than old beef jerky”. Whether the scouts or prognosticators are right, some feel Conklin might struggle with NFL speed rushers, and may have to either move to RT, or even possibly inside. Conklin is a real scrapper, which makes me think he’d fit inside the trenches at OG just fine, and could of course give us depth at OT as well. Yes, quality depth my friends, the luxury we haven’t had for too long!

Kansas St. OT/OG Cody Whitehair 6’4″ 301
Cody Whitehair has played LT, RT and LG for Kansas St. so he certainly has some versatility. Most scouts feel he will be an OG in the NFL, so in the 2nd RD, he could be a target for us. He would be another player that gives us some depth as either an OG or OT, but could give us an upgrade at OG from what we currently have.

Texas Tech LT Le’Raven Clark 6’5″ 316
Le’Raven Clark is another 2nd RD possibility for the Dolphins. Clark has the longest arms in this draft at 36 1/8″ long. Clark has good foot speed, but likely needs to add more muscle and get stronger in the NFL (As many prospects do). He could be a guy to groom to replace Branden Albert, and be our LT for a decade, so Clark could definitely be a target of ours, if we think he could be what I said. NFC scouts said they think he’s going to be a top 5 LT in the NFL. Sounds good to me!

Texas A&M OG Germain Ifedi 6’6″ 324
Germain Ifedi looks like an NFL ready starter right now. Ifedi has power, and also has very long arms (36″). Germain played both OG and RT at Texas A&M. Oddly enough though, his NFL comparison is our own Billy Turner. He is a bit of a project though, like Turner, so although he would be thrown into the mix, the 3 year player may not be ready for us right now, but could could be a very good player in time.

Stanford OG Joshua Garnett 6’4″ 312
Garnett looks to be a pro ready NFL OG. Very thickly built lower body ideal for working in the trenches, he also has very good upper body strength. A Stanford OL, again??? I think Garnett will be fine, although I also thought Jon Martin would be fine, so if you want to stop reading the rest of this, I understand. NFL comparison is Gabe Jackson, who is doing just fine in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders, and a player both D and I wanted for our Dolphins. I could see Garnett winning a starting OG spot this season.

Arizona St. OG Christian Westerman 6’3″ 298
Westerman is a a very athletic OG, with lots of pop. Weight room warrior who never stops. Scouts say some of his actual strength doesn’t always show up on the field, but I would think learning technique from the right coaches would help that. Westerman is a true OG prospect, and should be taken somewhere between the RD 2-4. His NFL comparison is Alex Mack, and who wouldn’t want Alex mack on our O-line right now?
There are plenty more prospects out there, and I will leave that for you all to discuss and bring up on the blog!

Both Hargreaves and Elliot have a chance to be the top players in this draft
But there is a good chance both are gone at 13
So if we zero in on those 2
And they are both off the board at 13
And at least one goes between 8-13
Will we have regrets?
🐽

Professor Lou,

There is nothing the Dolphins fan can do.
The Dolphins are haunted by this
true, you build your stadium on Indian burial grounds and you’re doomed.
Well if you believe in that sort of thing then life here on earth is very different than what many believe. 😉
My dream is still to land Myles Jack or Jalen Ramsey at 13

LOL
Pro Lou,
You will either have a “I told you so” moment after 2 more seasons or not regarding RT and the alternatives (Carr, Wentz, Goff, etc).
I have many concerns about RT and wouldn’t necessarily mind a change at QB but I maintain my stance on the Dolphins current state and that is “fix the car before you fix the driver”.
No point getting the best QB if the team defense can’t even finish top 10.
I’m feelin a NASCAR analogy here. It’s so true too. 😆
I don’t think we’ll have a shot at Elliot. Hargreaves is more realistic. I still think DE could be the pick and then CB 2nd rd if the team likes some of the young corners they already have. Or and OL like Conklin.
Piggy,
I’d be fine with William Jackson III at 13 🙂
I’m a little scared to take him at 13
besides
Iike Mackezie Alexander who is dropping like a stone
Alexander in the 2nd? The stuff of Piggy dreams
What did he do to drop? Did he play a game I’m not aware of?
The good thing about this draft is that at CB & DE; two areas of young talent need, can be had in the 2nd RD with a decent option.
DE wise -> Dodd, Calhoun, Ogbah maybe in RD 2.
CB wise -> Burns, Howard etc
Some feel even the 3rd round. Maybe not as game ready, but on a talent basis.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Hulk was meeting clients this morning on his birthday. No rest for the Hulk.

We do have two prime time games, Thursday night vs. Bengals and Saturday night vs. Jets.
Is that how they’re selling the Thursday night game?
Well it’s the only game that day.
SB
I hate the Thursday games, but the NFL considers those prime team games.
Maybe because it’s the fifth day of the week, but that’s stretching the definition of prime. Lol
Happy B-Day Ken..
No one deserves that more unless he his first name Brandon and second one Fields.
Hey hey, look at what the cat drug in! We were just worrying about ya yesterday.
Good to see your avie.
Hey GDP — a few things going on….and plus thought it best not to bother you guys with my pathetic draft talk. Plus best not to put mine out cause I can then tell you how wrong you were a year or so later. 🙂
I remember bro. Hope all is getting better for you & yours.
Glad to see ya pop in 7 let us know your still around. it’s the offseason. Good time to take care of family business.
Keep doin what you’re doin.
And sorry for not being on, but were the schedule makers trying to put out too many prime Fest dates for us to choose from. Might be a battle royale about which one.
Sun, Sep 25 — Cleveland (1 PM)
Sun, Oct 9 — Titans (1 PM)
Sun, Oct 16 — Steelers (1 PM)
Sun, Oct 23 — Bills (1 PM)
Sun, Nov 6 — Jets (1 PM)
I favor Cleveland cause 3 friends here in my town are big Browns backers & mentioned before the schedules came out a couple months ago that we should all carpool down together.
I told them about our blog Fest & they thought that would be awesome to attend with us.
Sucks tho yesterday revealed Sep 25, still hot out. But the new roof will help. Plus I’ve seen it in the 90’s even in Dec some years in miami…lol
Lot of road before we actually pick a date, but man so many choices. Knock against the Browns is that it is earlier than we normally do and while the Browns fans travel that is the home opener. Gonna be factors like that for each of them. So many choices. We really only had two last year.
Sorry — Browns fan do not travel…..

D, so you would still give up the multiple picks other than the 2017 1st for a QB who didn’t play against a high level of competition?
———————————
Yeah, and i was a big critic early on in the process. i feel like he would be worth a swap of a 1st, 2 seconds and a 2017 3rd. I dont think the competition thing affects what i see as elite level skills. Level of competition doesnt account for his ability to very pinpoint drops passes in a small window. It doesnt account for the touch he has on his passes. It would affect things like read progression if the competition couldnt get to him, giving him longer to go through them. It could make him look better at scrambling, etc. Its not going to affect the things he looks best at. I expect he will need some transition time, but he is going to be the best QB prospect since Luck came out, for whatever worth you may put on that. In a perfect world, where value always meets ability, no that trade would not be one i could make, however, given the need of that team, the markets for QB’s and where he ranks in as far as NFL readiness compared to the QB’s of the past few years, he is worth that.
You have to also consider that a person competing against teams with potentially lower level of competition is also competing with teammates who could be categorized the same.
All fair enough. I guess it’s the fact that Wentz wasn’t really talked about until like February when Goff and Lynch were the clear top 2 and then Wentz joined them or jumped them.
Senior Bowl Week was a big launching pad for him. I think a lot of him flying under the radar was exactly the smaller school thing. Senior Bowl put him against real skills and i think a lot of teams, scouts and reporters really started taking notice. He did of course lead his team to a championship every year he was at the helm. Thats pretty impressive in itself.
Hey Stanger, good to see you. Hope all is well.
Thanks Tim. Hate all you guys………but the schedule release brought me out. 🙂
Hope you make it this year.
Damn i just had a mock draft on first-pick where Hunter Henry was taken number 9 overall lol. I like the guy but thats a little crazy.
I actually closed that draft just because i though that was just too friggin crazy.
I did the same exact thing. Go to Fanspeak and use the NFL.com big board.
Stanger!! What up kid? Hope all is well bud!
You Mike E. Doing fine, hope you are as well. Schedule brought me out just to start Fest thinking.
And don’t think I forgot that you promised to come this year like Trump saying he will be the best Pres ever.
Who do you think is the best republican presidential candidate?
Depends on what you mean by best.
As to who I want as my President:
Rubio
Kasich
Cruz
Trump
Add in practical concerns for the GOP and realism:
Cruz
Kasich with Rubio ad VP
Trump (unless he gets 1237 on first ballot)
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 13: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida (A)
Round 2 Pick 11: Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky (A)
Round 3 Pick 10: Sebastian Tretola, OG, Arkansas (B+)
Round 4 Pick 9: Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama (A)
Round 5 Pick 8: Fahn Cooper, OT, Ole Miss (B+)
Round 6 Pick 11: Charone Peake, WR, Clemson (A+)
Round 7 Pick 6: Dadi Lhomme Nicolas, OLB, Virginia Tech (A+)
Round 7 Pick 10: Brandon Allen, QB, Arkansas (B+)

And thank you Stanger for the birthday wishes.
Steelers and Bills look like the early favoroite
Stanger, do you really want a president who every time someone says Marco someone says polo? LOL
Stanger
I was hoping we could make the Fest date the Steelers game. I think that would be a great game to see.
Hulk like divisional rival Bills so we can beat toe sucker live. Plus better date for Hulk. But Steelers would be a good game. One problem is that Steelers travel well.
I was talking to my best friend Scott, and he would like to make the trip with his wife, we’d probably spend some time in FLA, a few days before the Fest.
Stanger, I have no idea when I’ll be in Florida next. Now both my in-laws are ill and they’ve been up north since May when they usually go south to Jupiter in October. My wife won’t be going down there as long as they’re up here so for me I’m just not sure.
Sorry to hear that Tim (believe me on that). Hoping whatever date comes up you can grab a couple days respite even if the wife can’t make and we can send you back to her hungover.
I’ve got time to see if I can do that. My father-in-law is currently in the hospital right now with some intestinal issues. They’ll both be 86 this month so everything is very delicate.
Obviously that has to be first in your mind, but we are in April. And truthfully for me at least, I helped matters more by not being there all the time and getting myself together now and then to come back strong. You might think about giving your wife that chance some weekend now that I say.
Guess we’ll have to Skype Fest this year. lol
What day is Columbus day this year? That is always a good weekend for the fest as usually court’s are closed and many businesses are off.
October 10th
That would be the Titans game. Well it is probably one of the more winnable contests on our schedule.
Mike E, Ken, DRG and all the rest of you knucleheads……date of the Fest is up to you guys as much as me. I’m just the guy on the ground. One of many voices wanting to be heard. Even if I will push for what makes sense to me…..but that’s just me.
And like I said the choices are so many and even if I want earlier rather than later on the group buy to improve our seats….that’s just me. Schedule just came out.
Liked how our glorious Pig started it last year. Put up a poll with potential dates and see what the results are and go from there.
lol @ Marco Polo….I bet they played that a lot at the “Bubble Parties” he used to go to 😉
Stanger
I’m sure that’s how we’ll decide. If my friend does decide to go for the Steelers game, that will likely be my only trip to FLA, so even if it’s not the Fest date, we’ll get together for sure.
LOL, my Steelers buddy has been texting me non-stop about going to the game😆
It’s a great opportunity to make a trip out of it.
Lots of balls in the air, but sure would be nice to have that one big fest date. And would be sorry if we didn’t hook up, whether for the game or otherwise. But then I live here….so I’m sorta like that come down to a game and Stanger will sleep with you even if you kicked his dog type.
LOL
Stanger, my wife is getting a respite in Vegas right now with her cousin who is there on business. Part of the issue is me holding down the fort while she’s down the shore as a caregiver. My daughter goes down there to help as well. The caregiving just doubled with her Dad now having more severe health issues.
Believe me Tim understand. Was just giving a tip, and one you already knew. You ever want to talk about such in-depth you have my e-mail. Unfortunately had a crash course on such.
I hear ya and I appreciate it. My brother-in-law took time off to look after his Mom and Dad at this time so my wife could get a break and go with her cousin to Vegas. They all wanted my wife to take a break and go. So he stepped up after being on a few trips while my wife was the caregiver.
how about that i ask about stanger and he shows up. hhhmmmmmm gives me and idea

Somewhere in this diatribe of mine I did not mention (and should have) that the healthcare insurance market is one of the only markets that exists where buyers do not know the price (concealed by insurance and doctors alike). The government needs to force all parities to list price before delivery of service so that consumers can help bring down cost by going to cheaper places (instead of relying on insurance company calculations of this BS).

good to see you Stranger I was beginning to worry about you. I hope everything is OK. How do you like this weather and the mild winter we had.
Thanks js. And like I tell people from up north, “only ask about the weather with me unless it is July or August or a hurricane is coming.” But maybe you were just rubbing it into to all those Yankees. 🙂
I never liked the weather down here but we have several nice winter days where we get into the 50’s which we like. I was mets game other night night and fans were dressed with sweaters and we had 90 plus degrees. Gotta admit I would have loved to have that kind of weather down here more.

The Colts purposely chose not to have their bye week after playing in London.
They’re the first team not to have a bye the week after playing in London. The Colts play the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in Week 4 but they deferred the bye because they wanted to have it later in the season. The Colts will instead have their bye in Week 10. With all the travel involved, the Colts will be running on fumes against the Bears in Week 5.

Josh Cribbs recalls one game where he was knocked down by a defender and returned to his feet in a daze. As he returned to the sidelines, Cribbs knew he would be assessed for a possible concussion. He was asked a common question in such situations by team staff: “Who is our opponent?”
Naming the wrong opponent (or no opponent at all) would be a red flag to the team staff and spur more questioning or testing to determine whether the player is suffering from a concussive injury.
On this particular Sunday Cribbs was knocked down so hard he had no clue which team was on the opposing sideline when asked. Cribbs did all he could to stall and buy enough time to come up with the correct answer. At first he feigned being out of breath. He requested a few moments on the bench.
Finally, he was asked again: “Who is our opponent?”
Cribbs still had no idea and made another attempt to stall.
Moments later Cribbs heard a whistle on the field. He jumped up from the bench and dramatically pointed in the general direction of the whistle, as if Cribbs witnessed something significant on the field. The staff surrounding him looked toward the direction Cribbs pointed, while he looked the other way and glanced at the scoreboard.
When the team staff returned their attention to Cribbs, he immediately told them the answer to their questions: the Denver Broncos.
Not sure what to think about the article Tim posted, from Mando on Tannebaum the wheeler and dealer. On one hand you move up and get guys you really like, but pay to move up. On the other you have more chances to get 3 or 4 guys that are starters.
I rarely like to trade up, especially this yr, because we need more depth than we need that one guy to be a difference maker. We already have Suh, Wake, Williams and Jones on D, and on O we have Landry, Albert, Pouncey, and Cameron (Parker should be mentioned too, but he hasn’t quite gotten there yet).
The other thing with a trade up is you better not miss, like we did with Jordan or it can really set you back.
I’d rather trade down, than up this yr, but something they said on ESPN today is sticking. They said DeMarco Murray was Dallas best player on O and D in 2014, which makes me really want to take Zeke even more.
What I think it states is this is why Ross hired Tannebaum. He wants someone who will be aggressive to improve the team and not keep drafting and developing with some who pan out and others who don’t. It’s not necessarily about trading up, it’s the entire way of adding better talent even going back to last year with Suh and extending some contracts.
Then use a trade like we did both last year and this year to keep putting your team together. My belief is Ross wants to make the playoffs this year and he wants management to do everything they can to make that happen. We don’t have to give up the farm to do it anyway, we have a lot of young ascending players already and not just 2nd year guys. We’ll still have some draft picks left in any trade scenario. It’s not just about picks, it’s about the players you acquire through them.
Last yr we thought we had an easy schedule to start the season, this yr it’s the opposite. Last yr we came out of the gates slow, and it derailed the season, so I was wondering, if the early tough schedule was better.
There’s more pressure on you to start fast when you have an easy schedule, and much less pressure when the schedule is tough, so even if we lose the first two it shouldn’t derail anything, unless we get blown out the first two games.
Wouldn’t you rather play NE and Seattle, before they really get going?
I never have a problem with who’s on our schedule. Some of the traveling can be an issue but it is what it is. If you’re a good team you should be able to handle it. If you’re not it doesn’t matter anyway. You play who’s on your schedule and you compete each game. Also teams change from year to year so what looks tough this year may not be. A lesser looking opponent may end up being a tougher opponent this year. I’ve seen that happen every year.
Who’s on the schedule was already predetermined, we know how that works. In the NCAA Tournament they say the easy road is the road to success. For the Fins, when you have to play 3 cold games in Dec. you’re getting jobbed. When you play teams matters, but I agree if you’re a good team you should be able to handle it.
We play in a division with 3 cold weather teams in the northeast. We should be in the AFC South. But we didn’t want to lose rivalries and made that decision years ago during re-alignment.

Well I don’t know my status as usual but I can’t participate in polls anyway. 😦
You been participating in the poles of those spandex dudes for months
How does posting a video end up with my hands in their pants. I guess the same way I became a eunuch one day. LOL
👨❤️💋👨🍌🐹
Spandex love^
Ladies do it too. LOL

I think it’s even funnier with the lady
During re-alignment Miami should have gone to the AFC South and Indy to the North. Why even call the divisions by geographical names? ATL used to be in the West and DAL still in the East. Oh okay. LOL
Ravens go to the East as the most South team in the Northeast. They’re more Mid-Atlantic but more North than MIAMI!!!! LOL
I agree, but then again Tampa used to be in the same division as the Bears, Packers, Lions and Vikings..LOL
Very true and I knew someone would call me on that. But that was 14 years ago.
If there is ever realignment again
We need to get on that
Dallas is another team that stayed in the east bc of the rivalry
And it hurts Dallas too
I remember when realignment was proposed and they were keeping Miami in the east
I was so pissed
I wish we played I the afc south
Take the colts out and put them in the north
Take the Ravens out of the north and put them in the east
Now everyone is close
New rivalries will develop
And it’s not like we will never plays the stinking jests again
They are like herpes
They never go away
It wasn’t just the teams, the NFL wanted to keep certain rivalries. MIA was one of them.
And Dallas was the other big one as I recall
They just want Cowboys and Redakins games
The racists fucks…lol
Let’s go Panthers
Let’s go Heat
Let’s go Marlins
Let’s go Dolphins draft
It’s freaking April!!!
LOL @ Piggy
You know what, you may have something with ‘Redakins’. 🙂
Kind of like renegades mixed with kin, and all the racist stuff goes away. Except for the assholes. LOL

tim,
that is true, but the league has a choice about making who you play and when. i dont have a problem with saying a team should be good enough to beat anyone on their schedule but the league has control over who you play and when.
And it’s not like we will never plays the stinking jests again
They are like herpes
lmfao

yep, i agree. i hate the league just referring to your average white guy as some gun wielding cowboy and shooting anything that moves. i am just sick and tired of that.
Did you guys know that Patrick Surtain has a son in high school who is a very highly to touted CB according to high school scouts
He is visiting LSU and may play for LSU
Tax season is also it over FFROb
Then – never pants again
Kafusi
Thomas
Schoebert

Just watched 10. Joe Schobert, LB, Wisconsin against Alabama and Iowa, he sucks.
He’s a god athlete and looked good at the combine
But he plays a bit too passive for my taste
Yep
We got screwed
How did we get screwed?
Yeah, I don’t understand that either. The schedules are all done by the same formula every year. Strength of schedule is irrelevant in that the opponents are basically determined automatically.
Just a hard schedule that’s it
1. Devin Lucien, WR, Arizona State
This guy looks great, nice fluid stride, big, can block, seems to have really good hands, adjusts to the ball well.
2. Bronson Kaufusi, DE, BYU he’s a big stiff, not bad college player, but he’s too slow, gets a terrible jump off the snap, and he lacks strength.
ok yeah the schedules of who a team plays are know. hell i am sure the 2017 schedule of what division other teams plays are known. but when they are played are not. that is how the league can manipulate things. kind of funny how the cheats dont have back to back west coast games
oh shit, it’s April 15th. I knew I forgot something. Any accountants present?
Joe Thuney, OT, NC State Stumpy is quite a ball player, relentless, has a clue, picks up whoever is going free. I think he’d make a great OG, and a decent tackle in a pinch.
4. Darius Latham, DE/DT, Indiana No twitch, plays like a big dummy.
7. Isaac Seumalo, G, Oregon State This guy is pretty good, quick step off the snap has power.
8. Nick VanHoose, CB, Northwestern Sucks, lucky he even makes it to someone’s camp.
Pig, most of these sleepers are overlooked for a reason.
Yep
Happy Birthday Ken.
If there’s a cb that’s a sleeper and flying under the radar it’s Brian Poole.
Will Poole’s son? lol
Is it the NFL teams and scouts that are sleepers or the prospects? If they’re good, but scouts and teams miss them, it’s the teams that are sleeping, no?
The Colts weren’t staying in the division. They wanted Peyton Manning to have an easy path to the playoffs every year.
Thanks Uwant for the birthday wishes
Just listening to Gil Brandt on ESPN on how the schedule makers hate Miami
Gil Brandt actually said those words?
We play 6 games against our division and our division plays the same NFC division on a rotation so it’s not that hard to figure out a good portion of our schedule every year before it even comes out. I guess you can have issues with when we play where but a big part of it is we play in a division with three Northeast teams who play in cold weather in December and January. That’s been the case forever. We finish at home against the Pats and don’t have to play there late in the year. It works itself out.
We’ve been 9-10 since 2003 in cold weather game. So its really not an issue.
Ultimately we haven’t been a very good team for that stretch so the key is becoming a good team some day. LOL
If I’m the Phins I’m putting in a claim for recently released Pats DT Chris Jones. A clause in his contract jacked his salary up to $1.67M this yr for performance and they didn’t want to pay it. He played very well for the Pats and I remember him coming out of Bowling Green. I think he’d be a nice addition to our d-line rotation.
mike,
every single show I saw they said that miami got shafted early in the season. But here is the deal. we played the redskins and the jags last year and barely beat the skins and lost to jags.
I’d rather play tough teams and lose than play teams that we’re suppose to beat and lose. We usually play better agains good competition. So maybe its a blessing in disguise
Whenever you ask for things in the schedule and they are granted you’re going to get shafted. Ross wanted the first 2 games on the road, and 2 of the 3 games in the west to be back to back. The first 2 games are tough, but so what we weren’t going to win them no matter when they were played. The one that really pisses me off is Cin. on Thursday. Every team has to play a Thursday game, and from what I’ve seen teams have played home one yr, then away the next, but this will be our 3rd road Thurs in the last 4 yrs.
Someone really needs to bitch about this Thursday road/home scheduling. The Cheats have gone 4 yrs with a home game on Thursday without an away one.
