ARE YOU READY FOR SOME POKEY?

Are you ready for some Pokey?

Areyou ready for some Pokey

I know what you are thinking.  No Colonpokey, stay away.  I’m a rational fan.  I will not be bending over for you.  Go somewhere else to someone with unrealistic expectations.

You might be right.  You are coming off a 6-10 season.  You fired your very disappointing coach, you may be just one year removed from defending that coach.  So his failure was particularly devastating to you.

You are a great fan of the Dolphins.  But you will not fall for it this year.  Not this year!  I will wait and see what happens.

PokeyHeartLet’s see it on the field right Dolphans?

That is very logical thinking.  The sort of thinking that helps you avoid a little pokey this season.  It makes perfect sense that you are thinking that way now.  Its practically biological.  Let me show you.  This is a photo of a normal human heart.  Looks normal to me.

But a Dolphan…OdonellHeartwell their heart looks a little different.  Look at this!  Look at what you have done with your heart!  Heart break after heart break every season.  You have followed this team so intensely and with such passion your heart looks like Rosie O’Donnell.

Once your heart goes O’Donnell its so ugly its broken and can’t be broken again.

So you are safe from pokey right.  WRONG!  Do not underestimate the spokeyshowereduction of pokey.

I have something to tell you about.  Dion Jordan is eligible for reinstatement.

I will say it again.  We might get Dion Jordan back!

Want to hear more don’t you?

Oh…heehee…come in…the water is warm.  Can you pick up the soap I dropped.  Heehee…don’t worry, I will be gentle, at first…

What?  Why so standoffish?  Don’t be so shy?

Oh I know…I know.  You aren’t falling for that.  You expect nothing from Dion Jordan.  This idea that Dion Jordan is a part of this team now…finally after three disappointing years…

After a ear long suspensionJordanFurnace following a year when he was suspended for 6 games, following a year when he could not get not he field.

Well that is unbelievable.  You may have even taken steps to rid yourself of all Dion Jordan hope.  Maybe something of a ceremony involving fire.

But it’s not so simple to forget that potential is it.

He was the #3 pick in the draft!  How can the #3 pick be such a dud.  Remember when he was drafted?  Remember What you thought?

DionJordanOregonThis guy is going to line up on the other side of Wake.  He is going to be a beast.

He’s 6’6 with no body fat.  Look at the plays he makes in those highlight clips at Oregon.

Dion Jordan will be a cornerstone of our defense.

Okay, so maybe he was not a cornerstone.  But Philbin really was a bit queazy when asked to play him as a rookie.  He just would not let him on the field.  Freakin Philbin…he did it with Miller…So that must apply to Jordan too.  That is one reason why Jordan was held back since being drafted.

And then he made a mistake or two in his second year, so he missed 6 games.  But he still did’t get any playing time.  And then he became a fuckface and missed the entire 2015 year.  What a bust!

But therKiko Alonsoe are murmurs of a comeback season now.

He’s been practicing with his good friend and former teammate Kiki Alonso.  The two have been dedicated to helping this tam this offseason.

Kiko says Jordan wants to play linebacker.  So maybe that was the problem with Jordan…he should have been a linebacker all this time.

No wonder he wasn’t contributing!  That’s all some one needs to turn things around.  A little support from a friend and a new start.  Dion Jordan may just be something in 2016…

PokeybedOh…hello there…heehee…looks like you may be warming up to some pokey.

Maybe he sticks at DE and the Dolphins work him in with Wake and Williams to form a formidable edge rush.

Maybe his agent is right, Jordan will be comeback player of the year.

Yeah…I think you are ready for some pokey.  Keep holding out a little hope for Dion Jordan Dolphans.  Pokey is here to comfort you.

You aren’t so jaded that you have no hope.  And where there is broken hope, there is pokey.

Come take a ride we me…we will have a talk…heehee…about it…

We have to get one, or the NFL is sending the message, upgrade your stadium or no SB, but even if you do we still may not give it to you. In other words their word is shit.
    —–
Agreed. Ross is one of the wealthiest owners (top 3) and his commitment should be rewarded; especially as a relatively new owner.

  2. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    Tim,
Agree with what you said yesterday regarding the RB position. I think the status quo is good enough, talent wise. There may be some inexperience (not a lack of talent) there but a veteran could be added at any time if things aren’t going smooth through camp.
It may not be comfortable for some fans but the Bears & Cardinals did just fine when their veteran starters went down and rookies took over (Jeremy Langford for Chicago; David Johnson for Arizona) :). Drake probably would have carried much more as a featured back in Alabama had Henry not been there. Ajayi came into the NFL with a player skill grade twice that of Lamar Miller back when he was drafted and his flashes last year showed that the scouts were right. He will continue to develop IMO and no reason to be scared.
Depth has always been an issue since expansion in the 90s…teams can’t be as deep and have to role with younger cheap players on the roster.

Ravens first-round pick Ronnie Stanley will play left guard if he fails to beat out LT Eugene Monroe.
We ultimately expect Stanley to win out at left tackle, but it looks like he will see plenty of playing time as a rookie either way.

SB7, Boston is a really great town, its very pedestrian friendly, you can walk most of it in a few hours, got an awesome trolley tour thing too where you can get off at one location spend some time catch the next one that comes by later, etc. I have only been in dead of winter but i hear Boston Commons is really amazing in the spring, and the weather is much more tolerable. TONS of history, so young vibrant is more the feel of the town, the history there is OLD, and only Philadelphia is even close if you want to get a real feel of american history. Pretty great transit system too if you want to see other parts of the local area, catch a train out to a few other towns. Really neat place where you feel both part of the current time and stepped back in history at the same time. Kinda surreal to be standing on the cobblestone street where the Boston Massacre started, which in turn was the beginning of the american revolution. Make sure to go out and see “Ole Ironside” longest commissioned sailing vessel in the American Navy.

Yep. I shopped there sometimes (had one in Bridgewater along my way back from work; another in Princeton which was a few miles from my house). They are built to compete with Whole Foods it seems.

Pennsylvania, on the eastern side, has a grocery store called “Giant” that has some big locations (they started trying to compete with other grocery stores and creating some big stores like Wegmans in the NE philly area).

I often just found myself shopping at Shop Rite (the one off Route 130 in Hamilton NJ) near exit 7A of the Turnpike…that place was better than Publix.

Im a history buff, it was exciting for me to be standing there in places of historic american events, and to be occupying spaces that founding fathers, etc had been in. I think to me that was the best part of the town. There were other parts i really liked too though, town just had a good vibe to me. The people are really segregated though and though nice they weren’t really sensitive as i expected to racial things. I thought the tour bus driver was going to get killed one time when he was describing the areas and he said this area over here is where the black people live… I musta done a double or triple take looking around to see if there were any black people on the bus because i was scared he was about to get fucking shot lol.

I hear ya on the historical value. I like that about old city in Philadelphia even if the areas nearby are dumpy. At least the old city is preserved somewhat in the shadows of center city and the blighted areas off to the North/Northeast. In Philly, it’s all being regentrified rather quickly in some areas.

They have a saying there that there are 365 days in a year and 475 parties a year in NO, its true there is something always going on, but its a dirty seedy little city too.

There are some really rough areas and they are a turn away off most streets, you car is about 3 times as likely to be stolen there, NO is 4th in the nation for murder rate and there is not just a thug crime element to the city but organized crime element that rivals NYC in the form of gangs from street gangs to organized crime families.

      • D's avatar D says:

Yeah those are what i called dinged up injuries. All of Drakes have been those kinds, bruised ribs, sprained ankles, etc. They arent necessarily chronic injuries. Having several acl/mcl/pcl types makes me worry that thats more of a potential chronic issue than turf toe. Turf toe can be chronic if you dont give it a chance to fully heal, but ultimately it more random injury than a more persistent issue.

Nogle re-tweeted a guy blasting him for getting burned by Evans, and he didnt hastage grimes, or miko, and he didnt tweet at either of them. He tweeted at mike evans and at Jameis Winston. Miko got it in/pulled in it by her self and one of her cronies.

Depends on what the Phins staff think of who we already have on the roster.

Cowboys OG Ronald Leary is skipping OTAs as he seeks a trade.
Playing under his one-year, $2.553 million restricted free agent tender, Leary wants out of Big D after spending 75 percent of 2015 as a healthy scratch. Leary was a starter in 2013-14, but fell behind talented rookie La’El Collins early last season. The Cowboys seem willing to move Leary, but executive Stephen Jones has said he won’t be “given away.” Leary is a $2.553 million redundancy for the Cowboys’ dominant line. A trade is probably an inevitability.

Free agent Knowshon Moreno says he plans to continue his playing career in 2016.
NBC Denver’s Mike Klis reported earlier this month that Moreno is “80 percent done” mentally after missing all of 2015 with a torn ACL, but Moreno has tweeted he plans to be “back on the field.” Moreno is only 29 (in July), but injury woes have limited him to 34 appearances over the past five years. The odds are against him notching a regular season carry.

“I think Tannehill’s the toughest study in the NFL right now at quarterback. Everything you said, he studies hard, he works hard, he’s got great character, and he is uber talented. I think he’s probably top 5 most talented quarterbacks in the league. I know what I will see tonight. I know what everybody will see tonight. And that’s a supremely talented quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. There’s nothing he can’t do physically. I emphasize physically. He’s tough, too!”

  80. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

9 News Denver’s Mike Klis suggested free agent RB Knowshon Moreno’s (knee) career is all but over.

Moreno does not turn 29 until July, but Klis said he mentally is “80 percent done” with football after taking off last season to rehab an ACL tear. Despite his age, Moreno’s knees were a concern long before the ACL injury, with Klis reporting they were “virtually bone on bone” while playing for the Broncos in 2013. The condition of his knees explains why he received very little free agent interest after leaving Denver and why he appears content to end his NFL career. Klis does say Moreno is “staying in great shape just in case,” but it is likely he has played his last snap.

  81. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I love everything about Knowshon and would welcome him back in a minute. He’s a real pro and a great guy from all I hear, and he’s an exciting and productive runner who almost singlehandedly taught Lamar Miller how to run tough. I know that Nogle didn’t pull Miko into it
but some body named Sosa on that chain did
and the guy is a Dolphin fan

and wtf is the Phinsider care about what happens at Bucs practice

Miko responded to a Dolphin fan posting of Nogle’s tweet which was mocking Brent Grimes
    for getting beat in practice

How about instead who cares about Mike and who cares about Brent Grimes
Besides the fact that I think a player who put was one of our top players for a couple years deserves a little more respect than that then be heckled by Dolfans bc his wife is a psycho and people like to see her get riled up

people should be wishing him well and moving on
but they took joy in her silly comments

    Miko is probably semi-retarded
I honestly think she probably has psyche issues
we should just be happy to move on
but people insist on dwelling on it and antagonizing her
and she falls for it everytime

Its a sad indictment of the state of this team
we need a new pariah every offseason
    I’m just tired of it
so many Dolphin fans are suckers

    I’m a loyal fan
but I don’t need to pick a goat every offseason to distract me from how bad the Dolphins are
Thee Dolphins are no better bc Mike is a psycho

some immature Dolphins fans need these goats
either its Miko or Omar or Mike Wallace or the next guy (I nominate Kenny Still for the next guy)

    its just childish
and the real reason these fans are so bitter and need a whipping boy is bc their team sucks

Miko is gone now I think we can all move on

one day if he Dolphins are winning I bet we don’t have to talk about who has a crazy wife, or which beat reporter hates the Dolphins or whatever people pass the time with during these down years

My biggest problem with it is not that its a representation of Miko
its that its a representation of the state of Dolphin fans

I was proud of Brent’s play for the Dolphins, and I feel he was a good transition for the team to help us move to gaining more respectability nationally. His highlight reel INTs could not be ignored and served to get us some much needed air-time and street cred.
As long as Miko could be ignored or viewed as just quirky, I was all for keeping Brent. When she began to cause issues in our locker room, actions against her had to be taken.

I think the Miami FO did the exact right thing by surgically removing her, even though She cost us a really fine CB.

You own a team, you have kind of commitment to the community. That’s why I put the money up, that’s what I said when I bought the team that’s what I would do. We did it. I can easily separate the two, when antagonizing Miko. Brent Grimes couldn’t give a an 1/8 of a shit what fans say about him, and I can almost guarantee he probably doesn’t look at twitter. Tweeting that Grimes got beat in practice is totally meaningless to all parties except Miko. She’s a polarizing personality, she’s brazen, she’s nasty, and she loves to dig her heels in and get nasty. I don’t think any Dolphins fan is trying to hurt Brent, they just want to stick it to Miko. Not sure why you can’t see the difference, but c’est la vie.

Whatever Miko is, I enjoy people pressing her buttons, and getting her all riled up, because for the most part, she’s at the same level at the people who choose to torment her. I hope you realize I’ve never sent her a tweet, and wouldn’t waste my time, and I also don’t search for any of her interactions, but when someone here posts it, I do enjoy it.
