Things That Make Hulk Angry Before Season Even Start

incredible-hulk

By Dr. Bruce Banner

So season no start yet and here I am sitting around, breathing becoming more labored, palms getting sweaty, fists pounding table and generally feeling the need to smash something. Hulk already getting angry and we have not played a down of meaningful football yet. Here is what Hulk is already getting angry about:

The schedule. Hulk know no one can control schedule and there is nothing you really can do about it. But that no mean Hulk can’t be angry about it. 3 of first 4 games on road against playoff teams. Hulk knows NFL history that teams that start 0-2 very unlikely to make playoffs. Teams that start 1-3 not much better. Hulk just no want to see Phins season over before September ends. Hulk tired of the year’s football highlight being the draft. Hulk want team to be playing meaningful football in December and even better in January. In order to do that we have to play meaningful football in September. That may be a tall order with rookie head coach and lots of change over in personnel.

Hulk angry that our RB roster looks more like a MASH unit than NFL depth chart at the position. Our starter is Arian Foster who right now is held together by duct tape and safety pins. He had moments in pre-season but definitely looks a step slower than he has been. Our backup is Jay Ajai who has no cartilage in his knee. He also looked very tentative running the ball in pre-season. Behind those two we have Kenyan Drake and Isiah Pead. Both flashed playmaking ability but both also flashed hamstring injuries in pre-season. That leaves only Damien Williams as the only healthy option at RB and he inspires little fear in opposing defenses.

What makes Hulk angriest of all is that after last season’s abysmal linebacker play we are set to be just as bad again this season. Our only move to remedy what was one of the worst linebacker corps in the league was to bring in an oft injured Kiko Alonzo. Watching Alonzo in pre-season he looks undersized and covers the side line to side line with all the speed and grace of a pregnant yak. With the exception of 1 game our linebackers have been exposed all pre-season in both run defense and pass coverage. Unless our defense plays better we could be in for another long season. This make Hulk very angry and season no even start yet.

His last two games say otherwise.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

When you get blitzed like he did in the SB not many would’ve succeeded, Brady didn’t 2 weeks before. He wasn’t great in the SB, but last night even though he had several helmet to helmet hits on him and was most likely concussed, he still brought them back to what should’ve been a win. For the record I hate him, but great QB.

  11. For all the talk about Newton being such a great qb I just don’t see it. He may be a dynamic player when he’s on the field and he’s dangerous because he can make plays with his legs but the one thing this guy is definitely NOT is a leader.
When you’re team is driving down the field to try and take the lead and it’s taking forever to get the offensive line lined up and you, yourself, are moving like a slug throughout the game you deserve to lose.

  12. There was talk among people on Twitter about Franks needing to be replaced after he missed a FG in preseason because he missed 3 during the regular season last year.
Panthers FG kicker had 4 and an extra point blocked last season and then misses the game winner last night.
    Be glad we have Franks.

  13. It will be interesting to see how the Seahawks attack us with their offense because Baldwin’s their main guy and then they’ve got the speedy Lockett but Graham, if he plays, will probably be limited to snaps and the remainder of their wr’s aren’t anything special.
No doubt we will need to play a near perfect game Sunday to even have a chance so we need to limit the mistakes we make including penalties. Not having OV around to get the late hits on 3rd and long and Fox getting called for holding on 3rd down should be a plus.

  14. I think it won’t be long before we start seeing X Howard in an X-men superhero costume here and other places.

I didn’t watch the game last night, worked late, and just couldn’t steal the TV from my wife. Sounded like a good game too, oh well. She’ll watch Dolphins games with me, but it’s pushing a bit to ask her to watch 2 different teams.

I heard this morning they were jamming Cam’s head repeatedly. Did it look like it was intentional to you?

  18. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

All the talk about the hits to Cams head, but not much talk about him playing after what clearly looked like a concussion. His clock management and how slow he was leaving the huddle were telling. The rest of the team was lined up and he was still kneeling.

  19. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Steve

They were discussing it on both WFAN in NY and NFL radio. Both felt he was OK and wasn’t concussed, but NFL mentioned that they wondered because Cam is a star if they kind of let him slide.

  20. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

This kind of stuff bothers me. 4th and 21 and because a DB gets his hands to the face the offense is rewarded a 1st down. Nothing was earned. It should be repeat 4th down 4th and 6.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

THat was a ridiculous call. It seems like this is gonna be another year where the refs decide who wins and loses.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s what I hate, the refs and penalties moving the ball up and down the field, not anything the offense did.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I was saying it was a bad call, when it happened, but after watching it a couple of times its hard to disagree with the call. Too many games are decided by what the refs let teams get away with on pass coverage. Cheats and Seahawks get away with it far too often, and Revis.

The call on the hands to the face on 4th and 21 is fine

    The rule is dumb
I would ca E if it was a 5 yard penalty but auto 1st down?
They gotta get rid of some of these auto 1st down penalties

Think about those 5 picks in that short Frame
    Keuchly
    Shaq Thompson
    Star Lotulelei
    Kawann Short
    Kony Ealy

All 1st and 2nd rounders that they filled around charles Johnson and Thomas Davis to long term vets

I wish the Dolphins would have said – hey we have Suh and Wake
Now let’s spend high picks around those 2

We drafted 1 player on the front 7 the last 2 years – Phillips
and he’s not starting bc we were deep at DT when we drafted him

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Can’t imagine that next year we don’t invest heavy on defense

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Hey if our defense plays well who cares how they were acquired.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

If they play well it doesn’t matter

But prioritizing defense is more likely to lead to better play for the defense
If you have a great player (like I think we do in Suh) and you being in a good player – the good player looks great next to the great player

        I’m not making any predictions
I just find myself frustrated by the direction they chose

It might work at the end of the day no matter what I think should have been done

  25. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

And to add to that I’m really happy about the Parker and Tunsil picks
I like both players and think we will be happy about those picks for years

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

DE will likely be on our radar next year with the age of our DEs and a few of them on 2 and 1 year deals. The same at LB with Jenkins and Alonso as UFAs and Misi’s contract winding down.

  26. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

They give automatic 1st downs on hands to the face and holding, because the D is possibly preventing a big gain, if there weren’t automatic 1st downs rewarded you could just hold on 3rd and long and force the refs to make a call. The cheats would love it.

  27. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim

The only time you care where you got the players from is when the cap comes into play. Obviously, better to draft your all-pros than pay for them in FA.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Sure in the perfect world but if they’re really good you have to pay them at some point and it’s no different than signing a UFA to big money. But the benefit is you get a few cap friendly years.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Once they get to their 2nd contract you’re overpaying either way, so you get the bargain early in their career.

  29. D's avatar D says:

Cam wasnt great and he wasn’t bad if you averaged what he did. Some parts were pretty amazing, some parts weren’t anything special. Denver’s D looked less explosive but they weren’t flat, just probably not what everyone expected them to be. Carolina’s OL also looked improved over the last match-up, so that probably had something to do with it. Miller’s guaranteed money might have had something to do with it.

Benjamin is a younger more athletic Anquan Bolden. Lets see though if he holds up health wise. I do believe to me he was the brightest offensive star of the game, i liked what Anderson showed, and Trevor Siemian showed he can run the offense and has some decent instincts in the are of pocket awareness. Didnt see elite skills but he is better than Peyton was last year, so there is a little more pop to the offense, but only a little.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Benjamin actually surprises me that he’s so productive. He doesn’t move very well but he seems to get it done.

      • D's avatar D says:

Bolden doesnt either, he out physicals the CB’s, thats why i see him more like Bolden than a Julio Jones for example. Benjamin was just like this in college.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Benjamin and Bolden are alike, because they aren’t burners, but the comparison stops there, he’s more like Brandon Marshall. They made Miller and Co look less impressive, because they adjusted, by moving Cameron up in the pocket, instead of 10 yards back.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Boldin in his early days was pretty explosive though. I just don’t think Benjamin looks athletic, but he makes plays. He reminds me more of Oronde Gadsden another guy who wasn’t particularly fast and didn’t move great but made plays.

  30. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

This is great. I have Tim explaining what I mean to Steve, and now Steve explaining what I mean to Tim. Love it! 🙂

    ——————————————–
If i had to rank things right now, with no assumptions of how well anyone performs, id say LB, DE, CB, TE, RB, S, OL, DT, QB, WR as the order of need. I think though it REALLY hangs on the CB play. We could go from LB to CB being the priority really quick. RB could also really jump up in priority if one of our guys gets “for real” broke this year. I think a lot with the DE priority also hinges on Jordan, i had pretty much resign myself to never thinking of him as a guy who we could even consider on the team much lest a starter/rotational guy at DE, but Gase seems to be entertaining him getting a seocnd chance so ill try to do the same.

  32. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I enjoyed the game last night, but these calls/penalties are getting ridiculous. They’re changing the game, fundamentally. As others said, too many auto first downs for penalties that shouldn’t be. It’s just not fair. They want 39-35 games…everything for the offense.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The D does a lot of holding on the WRs, I don’t want go back to the days of what the cheats did to the Colts in that AFC Championship game that resulted in the rule change.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Not saying don’t call a penalty, but automatic 1st downs for doing nothing especially when you’re in long down and distance and you get a freebie 1st down ruins the game to me. It’s just my opinion. I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The problem isn’t the rule, it’s the idiot grabbing the face mask, he should know the situation, and I’m sure he’s hearing about it today. Ginn after a punt got in the face of a rookie for some extra curricular activity late in the game, that almost cost the Panthers. That’s why discipline is so important.

  33. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

They can make hands to the face a 10 YD penalty. Many times it’s not even a violent hands to the face, the hands just slip and go to the face.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

      That’s what I mean.

    • D's avatar D says:

One of them they called against Phillips in the PS was completely under the face/head. They still called it. The other one was not flagrant, more of a hand battle between he and the OG and the OG’s hand actually pushed his up to the face region where it slipped of and hit the face. Those are kind of ridiculous to call the same as they one one that was more flagrant. Facemask has a flagrant and a incidental version, why not other penalties, although that does open the game up to more ref intervention by way of their opinion in it being flagrant making more of an impact on the game. Its kinda catch 22.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Face mask only carries the 15 yard version, they removed the incidental one several years ago, but I agree the penalty needs to fit the crime. I’d like to see the college rule for PI used, a 50 yard penalty is absurd.

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

So Pouncey definitely out, and Parker very unlikely to play. Maybe Hunter does get some snaps, and maybe just maybe, he makes the most of them.

    • D's avatar D says:

Id bet that Hunter does wind up with at very least a role in this game. He might not be a primary target the way that Parker would have been, but he will but utilized in some role, be it deep routes or red zone.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I hope so, we’re going to need diversification. Can’t try to feed it to Landry and Stills all day, we’re going to have utilize a bunch of different players against that defense.

    —————————————-
I guess thats why i havent seen the incidental one called recently lol.

Absolutely on the PI rule, i do think that amount of penalty is rediculous, and the receiver uses it. They draw the penalty its same as the completion, which they may or may not have caught.

I do though i do think some players were taking advantage of it when it was only a 15 yarder from the LOS. They would get beat and just flagrantly hack the receiver to prevent the catch of 50 yars and lessen it to 15, so again, there may need to be a way to make it so it still can be a spot of foul penalty in some situations, or better yet, just stop being so quick to flag the incidental type contact.

Another thing is if its going to be a spot of foul for the defense, shouldnt the offensive version reflect the level of severity that the defensive one? Should the defense then be awarded a pick in the situations where they had position on the ball and the receiver ad to push off to prevent the INT and get the catch? I mean if you are assuming that the offensive guy would have caught it, but didnt because the defensive player interfered, then wouldnt the same assumption have to be made when the receiver interferes with the DB?

I just went and searched for other articles.
“Ajayi did not travel with the Dolphins to Seattle. Coach Adam Gase decided he would not be playing this game so Ajayi is a healthy scratch by coach’s decision.

A Dolphins player told The Herald’s Adam Beasley that Ayayi, who lost the No. 1 running back job to Arian Foster, was upset the past week. Ajayi obviously did not react well to being the stating running back most of the offseason and training camp and then losing it the last week of the preseason.

Also hurting Ajayi is that he does not play on special teams so he might have been inactive anyway.

This situation is of Ajayi’s own doing. He should have gotten a clue that coaches needed to see him succeed when he played a half in the final preseason game. And, unfortunately for him, in a game the coaches wanted to see him succeed, he had a fumble and a dropped pass.

After that game, Gase said he was “disappointed” in Ajayi.

And then he sulks when he loses his job?”

    Factoid of the day.

Ross and Trump were planning on being co-owners of a pro football team.
    ———————-
Trump bought the Generals for less than $10 million, and possibly as little as $1 million.

Ross bought the Houston Gamblers, then led by future Buffalo Bills star quarterback Jim Kelly, after the 1985 season. He wanted to relocate the Gamblers to New York’s Shea Stadium, but Trump owned the territorial rights and refused. Instead, Ross worked out a deal to merge the Gamblers and Generals and became co-owner with Trump in August 1985. They would play at the Meadowlands in 1986 as a single team of players and executives culled from the original teams.

The Ross-Trump team never came to be, however. The league suspended play in early 1986, during its court battle with the NFL and amid a madcap scramble to relocate franchises, moves that angered the league’s TV partners.

I’ll be down in your neck of the woods to see the FAU-U of Miami game at Rock Head Stadium. Just hoping my Owls can cover the 25 point spread in tomorrow’s game, which kicks off at 6 PM.—Also will be watching both QB’s, Brad Kaaya of Miami and Jason Driskel of Florida Atlantic. –At least one, and maybe BOTH of them will be playing in the NFL, barring injury, in my humble opinion. Our old buddy Jeff Ireland studiously avoided games involving both FIU and FAU during his tenure as Fins GM. However, a little bird (an FAU Owl, to be exact) told me that reps of the Dolphins have attended FAU practices and last week’s FAU home game (which they won 38-30).–I fully expect at least ONE FAU player and ONE U. of Miami player to be on the Dolphins’ primo radar screen for the upcoming draft. I’ve listed FAU’s potential pros in an earlier post a few days ago. The “U” also has some future studs, including Mr. Kaaya, who Mel Kiper says is a Top 10 talent. Last season, FAU nearly got a much needed benchmark win before losing in overtime to 9th ranked Florida in Gainesville. Tomorrow, they get another chance to beat a Top 25 team. –The odds say Miami wins by a blowout. We shall see.

I don’t either, we’ve never seen this team play or these coaches coach in games.

5 new starters on defense, maybe 6 or 7 this Sunday, 4-5 on offense and a lot of new rotations players and STs guys. This isn’t last year’s team.

I see the Ajayi issue a good thing. This could be the incident that takes him to the next level. Surely everyone that’s been good at anything can remember their defining moment, or when the light came. RT took his game to the next level in London against Raiders, after being Philbined.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

  71. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think Ajayi is going to go back to soccer. This was very disappointing.

  72. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Hopefully, the Ajayi situation is just a young, competitive player learning how to deal with disappointment and be a professional. The healthy scratch would suggest it was more than that, but the leaders in the locker room….whomever that is….need to deal with this so that it doesn’t become anything more.

  73. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Another player very unlikely to play is receiver DeVante Parker. He practiced in a very limited basis Friday but he is also unlikely to play.

One piece of positive injury news for the Dolphins: Linebacker Jelani Jenkins seems certain to play barring a setback with his surgically repaired knee.

  74. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

You guys have to consider how soft this team was under Philbin

So far Gase has targeted a couple of 2nd year guys

It’s up to the player to respond
But this is by far not a death sentence for Ajayi (or Parker)

It’s just a coach setting a tone to some guys that only had NFL experience under charminny soft Philbin

So you remember how soft the Dolphins were in 2015

    It’s Gase’s biggest challenge

Don’t judge he player, judge the predecessors system
I think Ajayi and Parker may be very big parts of the 2016 Dolphins

    Give it time me
These early call outs and disciplinary measures as what a lot of new coaches do

Even Philbin did it – but in his case he insisted players not litter and hold their pee

Gase is setting the tone for a tougher team
A team that act like professionals
I’m not saying we will be a very physical team
But I expect to be tougher than we were last year

The salt in the wounds of all of our losses (and some wins) in 2015 was how soft we looked…remember the London game – yuk

Gase has to take some steps to think about the mental makeup of players especially players that no nothing but Philbin

  75. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    That’s awesome Herd! Beautiful horse.

  76. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Piggy,
I agree with your comments about us being soft. The only thing I would add is that it can’t be just the HC. The leaders on this team have to take that message inside the locker room and demand and cultivate something different from the rest of the players. I think our “leaders” have been woefully inadequate in many areas….this being one of them. That has to change, and it has to come from the inside.

  77. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Anyone else think this not standing for the National Anthem thing is totally immature and hypocritical?

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

What I think is hypocritical is doing it and then backing Clinton, and her same ole. I don’t know who any of them are backing, just saying. P Diddy has unendorsed her, after calling her out, saying what have you done for the black community.

  78. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
I get that we’re a Country of free choice, but it pisses me off.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Right, the same country that offers these idiots the chance to play football for a living and to make a lot of money. How about instead, quit the game, give up your salary and go be a civil rights activist, really get into it and fight for the cause.

  79. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
Yep. Plus, where is all the outrage by these professional athletes when they get preferential treatment from law enforcement? What about when they get caught driving drunk or assaulting someone or strangling their wife? They are putting other people’s lives and health at risk, but I sure don’t see any protests when they get a slap on the wrist. As you said, hypocritical.

  80. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Randy, also this protest stuff is once again broad brushing a whole lot of people instead of the few who violate the rights of others. The country as a whole is not the problem, it’s a small percentage of individuals that fuck it up for everyone else.

  81. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I don’t think taking a knee is as disrespectful like sitting on the bench, and it may be more respectful, than standing. I mean when you greet an equal, if you stand up you’re on the same level, you’re equals, when you kneel to greet someone, like a king or queen, you’re showing respect, no?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

But we stand for the anthem, been doing it for as long as I remember.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Ok, so that’s tradition. The kneeling really isn’t showing more respect to the flag it’s showing respect to the cause, while not disrespecting the flag.

  82. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

NV Kaepperless Wolfpack getting ready to stink it up against Notre Dame.

  83. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I’m starting to get on board with the cause. I’m not sure the way it’s happening is the right way to do it, but I’m not sure it isn’t. Are people really offended by the kneeling, and if so why? Would you have felt different, if it didn’t start out with a sitting on the bench? This country needs change, enough of the racial BS already.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Totally agree with your last line. But the National Anthem does not stand for the violation of people’s rights. That’s my issue with it.

  84. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Standing for your Country’s anthem has always been a very literal thing to me. You’re literally showing that you are willing to stand for your Country. Defend it. Support it. Put it above yourself and actually sacrifice yourself for it.
    ***
I understand Kaep’s message. It’s not new nor has it been swept under the rug. I know there are situations where cops step over the line. No doubt about it. It needs to be addressed….just like many other issues that are just as big or bigger. Child hunger? Child prostitution? The rate our veterans are killing themselves and STILL not getting even remotely close to adequate care? Pick a cause.
    ***
But, I believe you still stand for your Country when called upon. I understand we’re a Country founded on free speech. But when I see somebody who doesn’t, it’s not in any way a positive feeling for me.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

      Ding!

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It’s hard to defeat discrimination with generalizations

And I think not standing for the anthem is a generalization

I don’t care for it – but more bc it misses the mark IMO

However I don’t blame the players so much
If they wore a “black lives matter” patch – the NFL will make them take it off
So I guess this is how they bring attention to that

I just think it takes away from all the good things America stands for

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Right and the National Anthem does not stand for the violation of people’s rights. All people’s rights. That’s the issue I have. It doesn’t stand for what they’re protesting so it’s off the mark as you say.

  85. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Say what you will about Kaep but he has brought attention to his cause and that is ultimately the point of any protest

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

And the point is what? Don’t violate The Constitution and The Bill of Rights which is already on the books. Where does it say that minority citizens’ lives don’t matter and white privilege is the law?

It’s a fucked up message Ken. What’s going on in Chicago with record breaking homicides among black folks? This is all going on while we have a president of color in office. Chicago is also the city he represented on many levels for years. Ironic wouldn’t you say?

It just goes to show you that the remedy is not on the national level, but in local communities. Too many people don’t want to really address it though and Obama was one of them. If he did, there should have been progress by now. Those who do speak out about it, people of all races and colors, they get lambasted. We don’t have Apartheid in this country even though that is what is being suggested.

Faux solutions get you faux results.

Here’s an example of a guy who’s had enough in another city.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bngxyaQKsAI

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

The point is he chose an issue to put a spotlight on. You may not like the issue or the message but he has people talking about it

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He reacted to it, he didn’t start it nor is he helping the country unite. Quite the opposite. He’s disrespecting the entire nation that he’s also a part of and doing very well in. All he’s doing is influencing more players to do the same with the same faux results.

  86. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

Black Lives DO matter, but (no offense), Cops as pigs is offensive. Police lives matter too, and I’m damn sure a helluva lot more officers, both white and black, were killed or injured to due to black criminals.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

As compared to the unfortunate black people that were killed by the few officers.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think it was offensive too
It wasn’t part of his protest he wore those socks to practice – so I didn’t mention it
But it’s still the same idea about my point that Kaep made a sweeping generalization. And I don’t approve of that

You shouldn’t fight discrimination/racism with sweeping generalizations – it’s he same type of thinking IMO
It really takes specifI s to address it

But of an NFL player wears a button the NFL makes him take it down and fines the player – so their are limitations on how a player can protest and be more specific about what they are trying to say in the NFL

As it turns out sitting for the anthem is legal

  87. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Ken,
It doesn’t feel like he’s brought awareness to the original issue. People aren’t talking about that. It seems like it’s stirred a discussion about patriotism and the original issue is an afterthought. Just my perception of the conversations I hear.
    ***
I just find it distasteful for me. I still support his right to say it. That’s what standing up for your Country means. It doesn’t mean you have to always like it. Healthy debate is a good thing.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I don’t think his message has been well articulated but he is getting attention which is the reason why you protest. To me I just wish they would focus on football.

  88. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,
It’s similar to the crazy attention CTE or injuries with NFL players receives. There are dozens of other professions that have higher death and injury rates and impact way more people, but nobody spends hours discussing them. And those other jobs aren’t usually making millions of dollars.
    ***
It’s not that CTE issues aren’t important, but they aren’t special or more significant. They just get more media attention.
