No way will I go to that game
Im gonna pregame at slatterys early Saturday before those guys go to the game

But I’m watching in the comfort of my home or at a local bar

I really don’t feel up for walking in my door at 4 in the morning after the game

  2. Mike E. says:

Can’t argue that. They love video games. Sports? NOPE! The weird thing is that with millenials, video games ARE sports. ESPN covers these video game tournaments like sports these days. Bizarre!

    • BoulderPhinfan says:

My 11 year old is the same way. He’ll play video games all day but I can’t get him to watch 10 minutes of phins with me.

    • stangerx says:

Mike E — you can lead the young’uns to the football water, but you can’t make them drink from it. Not like I was different though. Dad got us seasons to the Mets and I became a Pirates fan……..we all rebel in our own ways. 🙂

  3. son of a son of a shula says:

My daughter will be at the game so fear not we will be represented.
She’s funny, with all the cold weather clothes she’s bringing.
Besides a Wake jersey she has Dolphins socks, gloves, hat and jacket. And no fear of walking into the belly of the beast.
Her boyfriend has size 15 shoes just to give you an idea of his size so I don’t anticipate anyone messing with her.

Damn millenials. What is wrong with them? Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday night to me.

Don’t generalize us! I’m a millennial and I cannot live without sports. The only strange thing about me is that I like teams located all over the map.

I have a major problem. My wife not realizing that we play on Saturday made dinner plans with another couple that night

Clyde Christensen said the Dolphins will give Kraig Urbik first team snaps at center. He says Anthony Stevens needs to clean up communication

  7. Ken says:

The way I figure it we are hitting the New Haven pizza scene at 6. That gives me a chance to be back by kickoff

  8. Ken says:

I feel your pain. One of my sons won’t watch the game with me while the other one may watch a quarter with me while he is on his iPhone the whole time

  10. wyoming85 says:

    That shouldn’t be a problem!
My wife won’t even talk to me when the Fins are playing!
She would have already cancelled stating her husband is not for public consumption during Fins Games!

Dolphins ST coach Darren Rizzi on ARZ cheating allegation: “Other than making it rain when they had the ball, we didn’t do anything wrong.”

    • stangerx says:

Even a Cardinals fan site doesn’t get it.
“It appears every Cardinal player on the line of scrimmage got off the ball in sync and that there wasn’t a miscommunication on the snap. Of course, it’s tough to truly know what happened without actually being in the trenches.”

  13. Ken says:

Good to see 2x on the blog. Come around more often

  14. Ken says:

Alright my break between depositions is over I am back to work. Peace

  15. The Flying Pig says:

the other couple is going to hate you when the jests score and you throw your entrée into their laps
    I’ve seen Hulk during games
its not a great dinner date

if you care anything about the couple you will be eating with, set them free. Cancel now!!!

  16. The Flying Pig says:

    Wtf Scooby
Can’t even get on the field with the Browns

  17. The Flying Pig says:

whats this about a cheating allegation in the Cards game?

  18. BoulderPhinfan says:

record challenge updated. Steve currently leads the field as he was the only one from last week’s leaders group that had us beating the cardinals. He has us finishing 11 – 5. Go steve, hope you’re right!!

  19. Mike E. says:

Man, I still have to find a way to check out Pepe’s. I’m running out of time, I have to make it happen. Besides the white clam pie, how’s the plain pie? I want to try both, but I like to judge a place on their plain pizza.

  20. Mike E. says:

I’ll take a couple more questions if you have one . . .

  21. Mike E. says:

BTW – Game of Thrones worthy Ulrick John looked awful last week.

I’m sure Ken is the expert on Pepe’s, but I think the classic (plain) is also outstanding. That’s actually what I did last time (one of each) so I’d have some leftovers back home to meter out to myself over the next few days lol

Go – you won’t be disappointed.

    • stangerx says:

Twice — Pepe’s is awesome, but don’t get the NY folk (well actually NJ people started in denial).

And shame on you for beating Toba in his own league…..we may never hear from him again. 🙂

What I’m talking about is when I sign in and post, it tells me you must be signed in to post. So I always post a . right away and then I’m good to go. This time I did not do that because I had to attend to something else. When I came back on I posted the . and it went through.

  25. 81Howie says:

Did I freak everyone out last night? I saw the night before the Pats schedule being discussed.
I know they get 8 road games like everyone else but it seems every time I see one of their games on they are always at home.
One thing though, when was the last time they went to London and how many times as compared to us?

  26. 81Howie says:

    Afternoon Update
    Howie 29-17 MIA
    Toba 24-9 MIA
    Piggy 20-3 MIA
    MikeE 16-9 MIA
    B’man 27-13 MIA
    Rock 30-16 NYJ
    Old 20-16 MIA
    Herd 23-17 MIA
    Prof 24-9 MIA

  27. Rockphin says:

I saw the question of who we play next year and I found this

HOME: Buffalo, New England, NY Jets, Denver, Oakland, New Orleans (London), Tampa Bay, AFC South*
AWAY: Buffalo, New England, NY Jets, Kansas City, San Diego, Atlanta, Carolina, AFC North*

So we only have one west coast trip next year (and one london trip) the rest are relatively short trips.

  28. Rockphin says:

We won’t know the AFC north or AFC south team we play until the season is done, but it will probably be the Ravens or Steelers as the away game.

  29. 81Howie says:

Sorry if I missed anyone but the wife messed up my whole PC trying to get her new printer to work last night and it took me till just now to get my word press going again.
Watch out, she will probably wipe this thing clean again tonight to make it print faster.
Be back when I figure it out again in the morning

  30. Rockphin says:

That is cold man..LOL…almost as cold as the wind chill here today (-13)

Ha! Pepe’s is about the best IMO – DiFara’s out in Brooklyn was awesome too, but haven’t been there in a while so don’t know how its holding up.

As for Toba and FF – yeah I’m shocked I won that round and that I’m still in it. And in the end he was done in by my kicker (and that’s with Brees having a truly putrid game – didn’t think I’d recover from that).

    • stangerx says:

Seems even in fantasy most games are decided by foot on leather. Good luck against the magic hand. I’m up against the most Thundering Herd. Have a feeling we might meet up in the consolation “finals.”

  32. stangerx says:

McShay has his first mock out. And for us………like hearing the draft is deep up top at TE.
    O.J. Howard, tight end, Alabama

Lucky for teams like the Dolphins who have a need at the position, this is a loaded class with tight ends at the top. Howard, Michigan’s Jake Butt and Virginia Tech’s Bucky Hodges all look like top-40 picks. Howard’s size-speed combination gives him a lot of upside, but his production has been streaky in Alabama’s run-heavy offense.

  33. Rockphin says:

I could never do it again if I tried 1000 times in a row!

I was outside my office smoking a cigarette and there are these shit ass squirrels that hang out in the oak trees (yes I hate squirrels probably more than Tim!) So the squirrels are sitting up in the tree throwing acorns and twigs at me. At first I thought they were just knocking them loose by scampering around, but then I saw them actually pulling the acorns off the branches and throwing them at me. So I bent over, picked up an acorn and threw it back at them and hit one right in the face first shot! HA!!

It was like what the hell? and ran through the tree and jumped to the tree on the other side of the drive.

  34. D says:

Bucky Hodges is mentioned a lot, probably more than he deserves. He is solid but there are much better TEs in this draft. Possibly the best one is one of the more under valued one. Jeremy Sprinkle imo is the best all around TE in the draft. Howard is the best pure receiver. Jake butt probably the best redzone TE. Another guy I’d look at as a late round guy is Gerald Everett from South Alabama. Definitely under the radar more versatile Clay type guy.

  35. D says:

I don’t see any of the TEs as first rounders though. Bunch of early second rounders through third round. That’s where the cluster of talent exists. I don’t think any stand out enough to separate themselves fro. The pack

You can expect to receive a lawsuit within the next couple of weeks filed by he squirrel
He called me and he is absolutely furious

    “assault with an acorn”

    You jerk!

How did he pay your retainer? In acorns and palm dates? Don’t take the case Piggy. You MIGHT get a judgement, but I will NEVER PAY so you will wind up holding your nuts.

    • Rockphin says:

Besides, Have you passed the Florida bar? (I know, you can’t seem to pass any bar without stopping)

      • The Flying Pig says:

        its concurrent acorn jurisdiction
once you involve a nut – you assume that risk

Don’t you worry about my fee…..

Ever try Totonno’s in Coney Island? OR, Grimaldi’s under the Brooklyn Bridge?

  38. Rockphin says:

    I prefer Chicago style pizza.

    NOT! God that is awful.

  39. Mike E. says:

LOL @ Rock and the squirrels

  40. Rockphin says:

what sucks most about the friggen London game is we will get the bye week in week 4 or week 5 again this year. (while the pats will get it week 7-9 again as usual)

  41. Mike E. says:

D is tough on TE’s not named Hunter Henry. 🙂

  42. stangerx says:

PK Sam never made the field much for us, but little Nicky Satan clearly made an impression on him.

Thank you nick saban @AlabamaFTBL. 10 yrs ago today you cut me from the @MiamiDolphins bc I flew home to hug my dad before he died. CLASSY!

I’ve heard talking heads describe the Cardinals as a good organization that fosters troubled athletes

I think that reputation is built on drafting honey badger and keeping him out of trouble

Floyd is a veteran though, so I guess they were not up for giving him a 2nd chance

2nd round of playoffs are set Congrats to Herd vs Stanger, and Mike E vs Twice THE THE for advancing to round 2 .. There is a consolation round being played out for all US other Losers if any of us care .. LOL

Good luck to all, and GO PHINS !!!!!!

ah well… down to 2 of 4 of my teams still alive plus Survivor.. getting more manageable weekly.. 🙂

Bookman : I was looking at Atlanta for this week Survivor as well.. Will be taking a closer look this evening and sending it in.. Will let ya know..

      • bookman11 says:

Hope we can both pull it off. I have been making my pick early in the week and sticking with it.

  54. Mike E. says:

I hear that, I have to get there, and hopefully we can meet up there when I do

  55. son of a son of a shula says:

    Lol Rock nice shot

Me and a buddy were drinking one night outside his garage and an armadillo came along. Those things dig up the lawn and make tunnels under your fence.
We both finished our beers and decided to take a shot at him. I fired that beer bottle at him so hard and nailed it. The thing jumped and then hauled as ass with my buddy chasing it with a stick.
It was a throw from deep second base to first, it still stands out to me as one of the greatest throws I’ve ever made, lol.

  56. manitobafinfan says:

Heath on NFLN (usual Fins Hater) picks us to run table including the PATS game. And making the playoffss.. why his last name escapes me is weird. All that comes to mind is Slater and Ledger LMAO. Go FINS !!!!

Good luck to you as well Bookman

Thanks Mike E. And all others.

  57. herdfan says:

Now I’m feeling bad about FF. Sorry.

    • manitobafinfan says:

Why would you feel bad ?? You been kickin ass and going for back to back Championships

    • manitobafinfan says:

Oh heck no. That I actually decided you were right on … why adjust and have them advance at the expense of someone who played their best week in and week out… Stanger was talking about the playoff options after the season started when i asked about all 8 advancing or changing it to only 6 with #1 and 2 getting byes. Which would have had me with a bye ( i think). Which is also even ironically funnier because there were only two answers to my query. One of which was from Mr Absentee … so i left all 8 advancing .. and got bounced in round 1 , after i thought i had won until i realized he still had Tucker playing and was 2 pts behind me. Tucker put him over. Alas

  58. son of a son of a shula says:

She doesn’t feel bad, don’t buy in. She loves kickin y’all’s ass.

    • herdfan says:

Well I was. Although I did think they were letting me win sometimes. Lol

      • son of a son of a shula says:

I’m just surprised you’re about to win 2 in a row without getting points from your QB I mean Pennington hasn’t played in 8 years but you still start him.

  59. Mike E. says:

Someday you have to try Totonno’s. Admittedly, I haven’t been there in over 20 years, but my memory of it still burns brightly. It was fantastic, one of the original brick oven pizzerias, and it was always rated very highly. The old man who made the pizza and owned it only made a certain amount of pies per day, and he didn’t care if there was a line out the door, he would say “That’s a it, a no more!” He would just close down, and he could do that, because it was so good.

  60. Rockphin says:

” I mean Pennington hasn’t played in 8 years but you still start him.”

HA HA HA HA HA HA! Good one Son

  61. The Flying Pig says:

Looks like your buddy developed a habit after that throw

  62. Rockphin says:

What what what? Heath Evens said something positive about the Dolphins? Pshhhhhhh no way.

  63. 81Howie says:

    Those damned armidilos
Those things dig up my lawn every winter but I dont think I could bring myself to hurt one, not after what I did.
Back in the 80’s I was a pitcher working at a construction yard. I threw a rock from at least 90′ and nailed one of those little brown dove looking birds…
    Killed it insntantly!
The saving grace was little Haitian Charlie took it home and cooked it up. Next day he brought it to work for lunch and offered me some.
    Fried Dove and Okra.
    No Thanks Charlie

  64. Rockphin says:

  65. 81Howie says:

    I just thought of something.
How bad we are at night games. We never win those!
I bet since the 70’s we are like 4 and 22 on MNF and whatever night game theyve invented since
    This could be trouble

Walter football has us picking Zach Cunningham ILB Vandy 6’4 230 in round 1 as a 3 down LB, good at cover and a reliable tackler. Then follows that up with Taco Charlton 6’6 272 DE Michigan who is very quick off the edge.
Haven’t seen that one. When I go on their site now it’s the same it was a couple days ago with us picking a cb but they changed the pick to Adoree Jackson from Sydney Jones. Rd 2 they still have us picking Evan Engram. I like Engram but he’s not a blocking TE and I’d pass on him just because of that.
However, I would love it if our draft ended up as you stated. Both players would benefit the team greatly. Cunningham would probably be a day one starter and Charlton could be worked in at DE with Wake and Branch. FYI, I’m hoping we keep Branch and Jason Jones as well.
