If its ACL he might miss 2017. I think the phins should think about drafting a QB next year.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

No need to draft a QB and highly unlikely he misses 2017. If he really is going to miss 2017 then I think you see us try to sign someone like Tony Romo

  2. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Of course I watched the game. I saw it and mentioned it too. That doesn’t mean he’s done for the season. I saw Luke Kuechly crying when he was on the field when he got hurt, and he should be back in a week or so.

  3. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I know he was taken off on a cart at the end of the game, but if he had an ACL tear, why would they let him walk around on it, to the locker room, and then back to the field? Know what I’m saying?

  4. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Boulder

Hyper-extended was exactly what I thought. Hurts like hell, but you’re not usually done from that

  5. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    LOL @ Doggy

  6. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

No way he’s tearing up on the sideline if it’s not something season ending. They must have suggested it in the locker room. JMO

  7. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Not true on the MCL. I sprained both my MCL’s and I was running around playing softball 3 weeks later, and I was about 48 years old

  8. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Is doughty going to be Moore’s backup?

I am amazed at the medical knowledge and ability on this blog. Just from looking at an expression on a face you can make a diagnosis. I bet the people who went to Med school are pissed they wasted all that time.

  10. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Pretty sure a sprain and a tear are the same thing. Like a hamstring strain is a tear, it just depends on how far you tear it.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Generally a sprain usually refers to an injury and conceivably could be a minor tear but usually just bruising and is usually not imaged on radiography but a tear is usually a more substantial injury and is imaged on radiography. Depending on the degree of the tear it will require a surgical repair while a sprain does not

    Playoffs are right there.

    ——–
New England Patriots 10-2 (AFC East winner)
Kansas City Chiefs 10-3 (West champ or WC)
Oakland Raiders 10-3 (West champ or WC)
Pittsburgh Steelers 8-5 (North or WC contender, but Phins have head-to-head)
Denver Broncos 8-5 (can’t get WC if same record as Phins)
    Miami Dolphins 8-5 (Jets next)
Baltimore Ravens 7-5 (North or WC contender, has head-to-head v Phins)
Houston Texans 7-6 (North contender…won’t get WC)
Tennessee Titans 7-6 (North contender…won’t get WC)

how hard is it to get, they can only beat teams with a losing record

    • naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

We have a better record than over 20 teams at this moment.
We can only play who is on our schedule.
We can’t help it if the teams we play have losing records, although some of them have bad records at least partly because we have beaten them.
We will play two more in the next two weeks. So what. Let’s beat them too.

  29. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

There were a half dozen pro Arizona calls today. Not missed calls or borderline calls or mistakes by the refs. These were pure and simple “let the Cards back in the game” calls.

  34. Realist's avatar Realist says:

Great win, but Moore isn’t taking this team anywhere, and the D is not good enough either. Sucks so bad because there was a chance this team with Tanny could surprise someone if in the playoffs. Another year down the tubes. FUCK!

    • Phindog's avatar Phindog says:

It’s true .. it does suck but I didn’t see a fat lady singing yet. We resigned Moore for a reason and Doughty practices everyday as well.

Best year I have seen in many. We weren’t going deep in the playoffs anyhow, but we have a coach.

  35. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

“We needed to get this W for Tannehill,” guard Jermon Bushrod said. “Anytime you get banged up, it’s already tough enough being in that position, so we just wanted to try to fight to get this W so we could be happy and he could be happy.”

Said Landry: “I just told Ryan we’re going to get this one for him. No matter what. I don’t care if we have to play eight quarters, nine quarters. We’re going to get this one for him. I promised him that. And we made it happen.”

  36. 81Howie's avatar 81Howie says:

Need I say it again FFR 😉

  37. D's avatar D says:

I know the refs called us for holding any time our OL fell down. Steen holding call one on James and one on Tunsil weren’t even close to holding. Meanwhile John was tackling Wake on some plays, literally dragging him down from behind.

  38. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

“It’s tough, very, very tough,” Branch said. “Tannehill’s the leader on our team. But we’ve been preaching this for the entire season: It’s a next-man-up mentality. Ryan assured us that he’ll definitely be in there still leading us, just not on the field. For us, we’ve got to pick it up on defense more and whatever we’ve got to do to win the next game is what we gotta do.”

  40. D's avatar D says:

Moore didn’t took as good as Tanny but he didn’t look bad either. I wouldn’t count out him being as to get us at least one more win, maybe 2. We are going to need the D to really carry us the rest of the way though

JUST RETURNED from a most memorable game at HARD HEAD STADIUM!! Gut-wrenching win by the good guys. BUT Tanny being out for the season with ACL tear is an ultra-bummer. Had perfect view from my seat of Cards’ player SPEARING Tanny directly in the knee with a head-first dive! HAS TO BE AN ILLEGAL HIT!!!!!!! But gutless Ross & Tannenbaum WILL NOT PROTEST THIS ILLEGAL HIT UNLESS GASE RAISES A SHIT-STORM, WHICH HE SHOULD!!!
    ———————
I think most of us beleieved, sooner or later, Tannehill was going to suffer a major injury playing behind this patchwork O-Line (believed–typing error). TODAY WAS THAT DAY!! I now hope the organization realizes that just getting Tunsil was not enough!! We need TWO MORE HIGH QUALITY O-Linemen to increase the chances that Tannehill (and his replacement, Moore) have a long and productive career. WE CAN NOT WIN A SUPER BOWL WITH THIS O-LINE. And our running backs can not have ideal success, either, on a consistent basis behind this O-Line.
    ——————–
Today’s game marked the final get-together of “Me and My BOYZ!” The group, which at one time consisted of 12-13 die hard dolfans, has been reduced to just ME AND MRS OD FOR NEXT SEASON. OVER THE LAST 51 SEASONS, the names and the faces have changed. But the love of the Dolphins was always there. The remaining members of the gang who are calling it quits this season unanimously named Steve Ross as the #1 reason why they are not renewing for next season. It is the end of an era for me. But my wife, who attended her first game in almost 3 seasons today, has told me she’ll try to attend a few games with me next season. That, by itself, gives me some hope for the future. It was, and is, a day of mixed emotions for me.

  63. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I can’t remember the last time I was genuinely depressed after a loss. I didn’t even watch highlights last night. I feel terrible for Tanny; he’s taken some monstrous shots over the years, and to go down on a hit like this is tough to take.

I just saw on NFL.com that Forte went down with a knee yesterday.
Keep an eye on his status as the week goes on.

  74. Tough victory for us yesterday with Tannehill’s injury. I’ve been harsh about his play but I feel for the kid and hope he’s going to be okay.
That being said, I’m sure Gase is going to do everything possible to keep the team focused on the task at hand. The way things are going right now, even with Moore as the qb, I think we can win 2 of the next 3 if Gase decides to put in the 6th o-lineman again and run it right at the heart of the Jets and Bills defense with Ajayi and Williams and put those big rushing numbers up again.
That takes the pressure off Moore to make plays and keeps the D off the field. I think we can have a repeat of the rushing performances we had from earlier in the season and get to 10-5 before facing NE at home. What ya say?

  75. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    We’ll be fine

    Just 3 games left
I believe Moore beat the jests the last time he played them
The jests are starting Bryce petty sooo…..

    • The Jets are atrocious, but division games are always a crap shoot. However, I’m pretty confident we’ll win 2 of the next 3 at least, giving us a pretty good chance at the playoffs with a 10-6 record.

  76. I hope Moore can lead us to the promised land. I give Tannehill some flack (deservedly so) sometimes, but there one’s thing that I love about him. He’s one tough son of a bitch and has taken quite a few licks throughout his career without a complaint nor injury. It sucks seeing him go down on a freak accident like that where it didn’t even look too bad. I hope it’s not as serious as projections, but if it is, I hope he has a speedy recovery and can be back on the field next year.

    • there’s one* Apparently I can’t type this morning.

    • it’s “tough son bitch”. but, I’d rather not see Moore have to lead us to the promised land as much as I’d like to see Gase pound the ball with that 6th o-lineman like we did when Ajayi had his back to back 200+ yd performances.
We need to run the ball and run it again then run it again. Put Young in there as the RT and James at LT and Albert at TE again like we did before and line up Gray on the left as well and just pound the defense into submission

      • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

we have to run the ball heavily. Judging from the plays he called after Tanny went down I think we’re going to run the ball a lot.

  77. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Piggy, I’m not sure about the last time Moore “Played” against the Jets, but the last time he started against the Jets was toward the end of the 2011 season and we won 19-7

Hey victory monday. I know tanny got hurt but this is football. I tore my ACL in my 20s and after a few months of rehab it’s back to normal. I bet he’ll be ready for training camp.

He might be out for the season but odds are, he will back to speed in 2017

After last week vs the Ravens I wasn’t really optimistic about the postseason
I want ton play well against the division in these final 3 games
And build on that for next year

Tannehill has proven that he is out qb of the future
The team will be ready to make a run in 2017 –
Especially if we improve our defense this offseason

To me this injury is not the end of the world

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Not the end of the world at all. Now if Gase got hit by a meteor — then the main plus on this season and the future might be taken away. But Tanny will be back — main Q is whether he will still be able/willing to run like before.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

He meteor might cause some damage to the planet even if it misses Gase…

      • I have to agree about Gase. he’s getting it done with this team and I doubt we’re anywhere near where we are right now if it wasn’t for him being here.
        The Young Don Shula
Gase Is The Reason For The Season.
He’ll have the team prepped and ready to play on Sunday and with the Jets o-line being what it is I think we get tons of pressure on Petty and force some errors there too and possibly get some turnovers to give the O some more scoring opportunities.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I was thinking about his head and one of those small ones you hear about punching a hole through a roof at times……guess car accident would be the more realistic comparison.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Lou — crossing sports and jobs, but I think Gase is like Theo Epstein. Young, likable and humble…even as he is smarter than everyone else in the room. Shula was at least never humble.

  93. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

8-5 with the Jets coming up. Win that one and I call the season a success no matter what else happens. And as, playoffs are a real possibility.

  94. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

LOL @ Moore vs. Tannehill about one pass.
    It’s not really important.
