  7. Anyone hear about the London game we have next year? It’s a home game for us vs the Saints. Is it me or do we keep getting screwed over and losing an actual home game because we have one in London?

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It ain’t you Vinnie. I think it sucks. Only good thing is our pal UK gets to see our team play in his backyard.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Ross can make a few more million dollars. Look at the other teams that are giving up home games to play in London. Browns, jax, rams. Shitty teams that can’t fill their stadiums. I guess we’re one of those shitty teams.

  8. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I would suspect we will not have to play a London game in a good long while after next year. Ross made the deal when they got the 2020 Super Bowl.

It sucks though, after a season in which they will be either 6-2 or 7-1 at home, and the fan base is returning.

  9. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m okay with the London game

We will have to settle For 7-0 at home next year…lol

  10. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

I need to check with the g/f – her daughter gets married next year, but I think it’s week 2 and the game will be week 3 or 4. Which is good cos I will get a ticket for my Chrimbo pressie :-). There is also some debate about k.o. time which may still be under negotiation, with Americans wanting a traditional 1pm k.o., but that’s a 6pm k.o. (uk time) and it sux for me as I have a 4 hour+ drive home after the game has finished so I’ll be getting back on Monday then!
Suck it up Vinnie …….. your loss is my gain.
Think you are right Bookman – the Jags will play loads of games in the uk, but this may be the last for the Fins for quite a while.
It was my birthday on the 5th, so we went away for a long weekend and I missed the Ravens game. I just had a bad feeling abt that one. I was spot on. Shite. But that slopfest win over the (house of) Cards was a thing of beauty, at least in the eye of this beholder. Gutted about Tanny. He put so much work in to get to the brink of the p-word. So glad our very own Dr. E refused to declare his hand (:-))early and it’s a lot better than the initial prognosis though. Go Moore, go Tanny, go Fins. Fvck yeah!

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

They tag London games to bye weeks after. So earliest it can be is week 3…..very earliest, but most likely after that..

And wasn’t the game against the Cards what we are getting used too. Ugly as heck with us winning in the end…….maybe we are just getting lucky or maybe we have a coach.

  25. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I’m thinking with Moore in there that Parker is going to be his go to wideout. Moore just don’t have a cannon. Thinking he’ll be going to the big guy on the loopy pass mid-to-deep rather than throwing the laser like Tanny can on the break routes. Might be a good day for Sims too.

  26. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    So we signed T.J. Yates?

  27. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Moore can’t just throw deep passes, he has to run the offense. We need to run the ball and be balanced but the Jets are pretty good against the run so he’s going to have to move the chains with some short and intermediate passes.

  28. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

    LOL @ pft

    12. Dolphins (8-5; No. 13): If the Dolphins make the playoffs with Matt Moore, Adam Gase isn’t the coach of the year; he’s the coach of the decade.

  29. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

I don’t understand why this wasn’t a flag. We’ve been getting shafted by the refs the last few games. Like the fumble that ajayi clearly recovered and they gave the ball to cards

  30. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Pouty for Doughty is nowhere near as catchy as Farty for Duarte

There is something about Farty for Duarte that sort of lingers in the air so you can’t forget it
    Don’t you guys agree?

  31. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

very surprised about the Yates signing although he did win a playoff game. This must mean A) they do not think Tannehill can play again this year, B) Doughty is too raw to trust at all, and C) we are going to the playoffs.

Moore has a career passer rating of 90.8 in December.

  48. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

    • Moore’s last touchdown pass came Oct. 28, 2012 on a 4-yard hook-up with tight end Anthony Fasano in the third quarter of a 30-9 victory against — who else? — the New York Jets.

  49. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Moore’s last start with the Dolphins came in the 2011 regular season finale when he completed 22 of 32 passes in a 19-17 Dolphins victory.

    • Ironically, that game came against the New York Jets, which also happens to be the team he faced when he made his first start for the Dolphins in place of an injured Chad Henne in Week 6 of the 2011 season.

  50. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    Piggy:
I don’t like the London games because I think that level of travel on the team and I don’t like losing home field advantage for one game. That is especially so if it’s an early season game where we have a big home field advantage with the early season heat and humidity

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I don’t like it particularly for next season because the fan base is building and I would like to see as many home games as possible, especially after the success this year.

If Ross made the deal as part of getting the 2020 SB, I guess that is just cost of doing business.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

we will get the BYE week after the game
its either a week 3 or 4 game
      hopefully 4
we get bye week in week 5 that way

the other team has to travel to
its not like a road disadvantage
is kind of di minimus at the end of the day

We have played well and poorly in London
if we were bad every time
I would be superstitious about it

traveling to a west coast game to play in some on e else’s home is actually far worse than traveling to London to play another traveling team

don’t worry about the weather early in the season
if climate change continues the direction we are in it will be 90 degrees next December…lol

  59. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Moore compiled a 6-6 record as a starter in that 2011 season, but helped the Dolphins win six of their last nine games.

    • During that nine-game span, Moore passed for 15 touchdowns and only five interceptions and had a passer rating of 97.8.

    • That passer rating was the sixth-highest in the NFL during that span, behind only those of Drew Brees (121.6), Aaron Rodgers (119.5), Tony Romo (114.5), Tom Brady (106.5) and Matt Ryan (102.3).

  60. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

In that 2011 season, Moore had three games with a passer rating of 122.3 or higher — against the Chiefs (147.5), against the Bills at home (133.3) and at Buffalo (122.3). He also had passer ratings of 99.5 against Dallas and 98.6 against New England.

  61. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Moore’s 17 touchdown passes with the Dolphins have gone to four different receivers — Fasano (6), Brandon Marshall (5), Davone Bess (3) and Charles Clay (3).

    • Of his 16 touchdown passes with Carolina, six went to wide receiver Steve Smith, now a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

  62. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

With that last stat list, it can be postulated that he likes the TE/slot type receiver in the red zone.

If he somehow came out of this and was a beast, I’d be right there with you. I just don’t see it happening at this point and it pisses me off that we drafted him, much less at 3.

There were so many good players we could have had at 12 that year plus the second we gave up.
Jonelle Martin and Dion Jordan are monumental busts. Most GMs don’t get 2 that are so horrible.

It is clearly a product of an evolutionary enhancement in your DNA (with maybe a little alien thrown in there too)?

Oh boy Bruce Arians really is grasping for any excuse. First we controlled the rain and then we control the snap count.

There might easily be about the same amount of Dolphins fans as Jets fans. None of my friends who have season tickets want to go, partly because it’s a Saturday night, and partly because they SUCK!!!!!!!

Mike E — maybe you and the Pig and whoever else up there should consider going late. Tix on stubhub are going as low as $13 in the nosebleeds and a bit over a hundred sets you up pretty darn nice on field level. It’s a firesale.

The Jets have something to play for on Saturday.
Right now they have the sixth draft pick.
With a loss they could be #5.
With a win they could fall as far down as #10.

Hyde with the most likely way we can get in the playoffs. Leaves us all as Pats fans against next weekend.
    —————-

Forget all the tie-breakers and possible variables. Here’s the clear path for the Dolphins to make the playoffs:

    1. Win two of their three final games.
    2. Denver loses two of its final three (home against New England, at Kansas City and home against Oakland).

That’s it. If those two things happen, they’ll earn the sixth and final playoff berth no matter what else occurs. Well, almost anything else.

If the Dolphins get to 10 wins, the only way Baltimore (with a tie-breaker against Dolphins) gets to 10 wins is by beating Pittsburgh. That gets Pittsburgh 10 wins. Baltimore then wins the AFC North and the Dolphins have the tie-breaker over Pittsburgh (having beaten the Steelers) for the final wild-card berth.

I don’t think so. Saturday night is a rough time. Plus, my kids are in from college, and we have a tradition of doing Saturday might dinner together. If you’re thinking eat dinner t the stadium, my kids couldn’t care less about going to a football game. 😦
