Disappointing, but he obviously wasn’t going to be healthy this season, so it makes sense

Anyone hear about the London game we have next year? It’s a home game for us vs the Saints. Is it me or do we keep getting screwed over and losing an actual home game because we have one in London?
It ain’t you Vinnie. I think it sucks. Only good thing is our pal UK gets to see our team play in his backyard.
Ross can make a few more million dollars. Look at the other teams that are giving up home games to play in London. Browns, jax, rams. Shitty teams that can’t fill their stadiums. I guess we’re one of those shitty teams.
I would suspect we will not have to play a London game in a good long while after next year. Ross made the deal when they got the 2020 Super Bowl.
It sucks though, after a season in which they will be either 6-2 or 7-1 at home, and the fan base is returning.
Business is a give and take proposition, so . . .
I’m okay with the London game
We will have to settle For 7-0 at home next year…lol
I like the way you think. About this anyway. Lol
Do we know what divisions we are playing next year?
I’m guessing NFC South is one of them
Also AFC South
just a rough guess bc we play the saints in London and we played AFC North this year and AFC West last year – so AFC South is due
Here’s a little info. on Jordan.
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/12/12/miami-dolphins-make-decision-on-dion-jordan-but-adam-gase-keeps-quiet/
I need to check with the g/f – her daughter gets married next year, but I think it’s week 2 and the game will be week 3 or 4. Which is good cos I will get a ticket for my Chrimbo pressie :-). There is also some debate about k.o. time which may still be under negotiation, with Americans wanting a traditional 1pm k.o., but that’s a 6pm k.o. (uk time) and it sux for me as I have a 4 hour+ drive home after the game has finished so I’ll be getting back on Monday then!
Suck it up Vinnie …….. your loss is my gain.
Think you are right Bookman – the Jags will play loads of games in the uk, but this may be the last for the Fins for quite a while.
It was my birthday on the 5th, so we went away for a long weekend and I missed the Ravens game. I just had a bad feeling abt that one. I was spot on. Shite. But that slopfest win over the (house of) Cards was a thing of beauty, at least in the eye of this beholder. Gutted about Tanny. He put so much work in to get to the brink of the p-word. So glad our very own Dr. E refused to declare his hand (:-))early and it’s a lot better than the initial prognosis though. Go Moore, go Tanny, go Fins. Fvck yeah!
They tag London games to bye weeks after. So earliest it can be is week 3…..very earliest, but most likely after that..
And wasn’t the game against the Cards what we are getting used too. Ugly as heck with us winning in the end…….maybe we are just getting lucky or maybe we have a coach.
I think maybe we have a coach!

Vinnie — there will be a Fest game to come too. And if you are just going to hit one at home that is the one. Trust me on that.
I will second that

WOW, I don’t know what else to say..and this is saying something for me..
Piggy.. what is the best way to NOT get picked on a jury. I have jury duty today.
When they call your name, stand up and scream as loud as you can GUILTY!!!!!
🤓👏
If you get to the point of being questioned by the lawyers or even in the question sheet before that……be very, very opionated on everything and keep it consistent one-side or the other. Sorta like what Mike said, but less obvious and to either extreme.

AFC West and NFC South
AFC West ain’t a pretty one to play.
no. I think we have Oakland and Denver at home and SD and KC away.
We played the AFC West last year didn’t we?
I think its aFC South time in 2017
We already won in SD, but KC is a different beast altogether. Very tough to win at Arrowhead.

you are fucked….lol
I suppose if you have some kind of applicable experience that would make one the lawyers think you are impartial, they probably don’t want you.
There is no magic word
and in CA they may view it different than NY
So that is the best I got for you
Oh nope
that’s I’m wrong
we played the AFC South last year
How could I forget the Texans Fest game
you are right
its NFC South and AFC West
So there will likely be a west coast game
but the good news is the chance sof a cold weather game outside of the division seem less likely
Phins opt for experience in the backup rather than bringing up Doughty.
I guess they don’t think Doughty is ready
few things to consider. 1. Yates has experience. 2. Yates has a playoff win. So, if you weigh your options you probably go with the experience. they may not want to admit it but at 8-5 they’re looking for a run to the playoffs in these last 3 games.
I got out of jury duty once but I had just had a baby. Don’t think that’s going to work for you phindog.
He should bring a litter of puppies in with him just to give it a shot

Why didn’t I think of that ? Puppies always work 🐶🐶🐶

TJ Yates has more career playoff wins (1) than 6 of the 12 starting QB currently holding @NFL playoff spots.
Lou = Pouty for Doughty
not really. I can’t argue with their choice. At 8-5 and 3 very important division games coming up and making a push for the playoffs I’d rather the experience.
I agree
So there’s the roster spot. My guess is Dion is finished
I was really hoping to see another o-lineman brought in too.

I’m thinking with Moore in there that Parker is going to be his go to wideout. Moore just don’t have a cannon. Thinking he’ll be going to the big guy on the loopy pass mid-to-deep rather than throwing the laser like Tanny can on the break routes. Might be a good day for Sims too.
Moore’s best throw is his deep ball. he’s nowhere near as good with the intermediate passes. I’d say Stills AND Parker could both be targets.
But his deep throw is still anticipation and touch. But yeah if Stills is open deep that works too. Think Landry will be the one most missing Ryan though.
So we signed T.J. Yates?
Moore can’t just throw deep passes, he has to run the offense. We need to run the ball and be balanced but the Jets are pretty good against the run so he’s going to have to move the chains with some short and intermediate passes.
And those passes were what he struggled with accuracy before. I remember I never thought moore wasn’t very accurate with short/intermediate passes.
^was
I’m not saying Moore should just throw deep passes but I can see Gase pick his spots when he goes deep like he’s been if we run the ball well. Times like just after a turnover, etc.
LOL @ pft
12. Dolphins (8-5; No. 13): If the Dolphins make the playoffs with Matt Moore, Adam Gase isn’t the coach of the year; he’s the coach of the decade.
I don’t understand why this wasn’t a flag. We’ve been getting shafted by the refs the last few games. Like the fumble that ajayi clearly recovered and they gave the ball to cards
Pouty for Doughty is nowhere near as catchy as Farty for Duarte
There is something about Farty for Duarte that sort of lingers in the air so you can’t forget it
Don’t you guys agree?
definitely lingers
very surprised about the Yates signing although he did win a playoff game. This must mean A) they do not think Tannehill can play again this year, B) Doughty is too raw to trust at all, and C) we are going to the playoffs.
I don’t think it means Tanny won’t play at all. They needed a backup for Moore, and they wanted someone with more experience than Brandon Doughty.
wouldn’t doughty have more experience in this offense than yates? I mean can yates really learn this offense in one week?
I think at this point in the game you want someone with experience and playoff experience at that when you’re making a run for the playoffs in your last 3 games of the season. It was a good signing.
Being optimistic about the whole thing I think they’re expecting they won’t need to use Yates and he’d be cut before the playoffs anyway if we make it.

I meant actual NFL playing experience. It’s a lot to throw a kid in there who hasn’t even played in an NFL game yet. He’s been on the PS the whole year
There’s been so many non calls this year and calls that are bogus that I gave up complaining about them.
I don’t think the coaches feel Doughty is ready. He’s very thin and needs to get a little bigger and stronger. Let him soak up the playbook and learn while watching and then he can compete next year.
he’s heftier than yates.
He’s also heftier than Tannehill.
They’re the same size but Doughty has never played in the NFL and he’s a rookie. I also don’t care what Doughty is listed at he looks real thin to me.

I don’t know what that means?
does it matter who the back up to the back up is? if moore gets hurt whatever chance of the season is left is done with
I like Yates. He is a competent backup. He has won some games in relief for the Texans
Fucking another London game 😡
unfair to make us play so many of these when 9 teams have never had to do that. (3 more new ones will go in 2017.)
They didn’t make us play it, we signed up for it. Remember the NFL is a business first and sport second.
Rob
In 2014 the Cardinals needed to go to their 3rd string QB in the Playoffs against the 7-8-1 Panthers. The Cardinals got killed with Ryan Lindley as their QB.
Oh wait . . . lol
Lindley was really bad.
He sure was. The other option was Logan Thomas, who spent a little time with us last year, and now he’s a TE.
I don’t know why people get so mad at the London game
I don’t get it at all
Yeah its not a home game
its not the other teams home game either
I love that we have a steady London fan base
we can’t have the Saints game be the Fest game

Oh right I’m watching the officials play chess. LOL
Moore has a career passer rating of 90.8 in December.
• Moore’s last touchdown pass came Oct. 28, 2012 on a 4-yard hook-up with tight end Anthony Fasano in the third quarter of a 30-9 victory against — who else? — the New York Jets.
Moore’s last start with the Dolphins came in the 2011 regular season finale when he completed 22 of 32 passes in a 19-17 Dolphins victory.
• Ironically, that game came against the New York Jets, which also happens to be the team he faced when he made his first start for the Dolphins in place of an injured Chad Henne in Week 6 of the 2011 season.
He also came in relief of tanny once up there at jets and we crushed them.
Piggy:
I don’t like the London games because I think that level of travel on the team and I don’t like losing home field advantage for one game. That is especially so if it’s an early season game where we have a big home field advantage with the early season heat and humidity
I don’t like it particularly for next season because the fan base is building and I would like to see as many home games as possible, especially after the success this year.
If Ross made the deal as part of getting the 2020 SB, I guess that is just cost of doing business.
we will get the BYE week after the game
its either a week 3 or 4 game
hopefully 4
we get bye week in week 5 that way
the other team has to travel to
its not like a road disadvantage
is kind of di minimus at the end of the day
We have played well and poorly in London
if we were bad every time
I would be superstitious about it
traveling to a west coast game to play in some on e else’s home is actually far worse than traveling to London to play another traveling team
don’t worry about the weather early in the season
if climate change continues the direction we are in it will be 90 degrees next December…lol

Dolphins DE Dion Jordan will remain on the NFL’s NFI list this season, a league source confirms. He will not be activated this season.
James Walker, ESPN Staff Writer
We have a 5th year option on him. Not totally sure how that works. Anyone?
Tim no idea, but I feel like Jordan’s time has just about run out here.

no Dion Jordan this year.
😦
Most likely no Dion Jordan EVER here
Actually to take it a step further
there was never a Dion Jordan to begin with
Moore compiled a 6-6 record as a starter in that 2011 season, but helped the Dolphins win six of their last nine games.
• During that nine-game span, Moore passed for 15 touchdowns and only five interceptions and had a passer rating of 97.8.
• That passer rating was the sixth-highest in the NFL during that span, behind only those of Drew Brees (121.6), Aaron Rodgers (119.5), Tony Romo (114.5), Tom Brady (106.5) and Matt Ryan (102.3).
In that 2011 season, Moore had three games with a passer rating of 122.3 or higher — against the Chiefs (147.5), against the Bills at home (133.3) and at Buffalo (122.3). He also had passer ratings of 99.5 against Dallas and 98.6 against New England.
Moore’s 17 touchdown passes with the Dolphins have gone to four different receivers — Fasano (6), Brandon Marshall (5), Davone Bess (3) and Charles Clay (3).
• Of his 16 touchdown passes with Carolina, six went to wide receiver Steve Smith, now a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
With that last stat list, it can be postulated that he likes the TE/slot type receiver in the red zone.
So watch for him to throw 2 TDs to Sims and one to Landry.
I think I meant to say “possession” type WR not exactly slot type guys.

I’m telling you guys for yearsbut nobody ever looks at the NFL schedule. Patriots get 9 home games every year and when it is their turn to go to London they make the Dolphins go instead
Nobody gets more home games than anybody else. The teams that agree to go to London and give up a home game get $1M and reimbursed for the smaller season ticket package.

i dont know about him but would love to see FSU’s D. Cook on the fins. If Gase is the offensive coach we hear about would love to see what he can do with a kid like that.
I LOVE Dalvin Cook but not sure we need another RB as badly as we need a MLB.
Cook is amazing
But forget it
Even without Ajayi I don’t know that I want to spend A 1st on a RB
And we have Ajayi!
piggy,
two things. one, were they depleted of just fisher trying to show he is a qb guru and not using the team right? and second, if they are going to pick a fsu d back i would love to see them pick Derwin James in 2018
I tend to think FSU had less talent in 2016 than the prior 2 years
They were pretty loaded the last few years
This year there’s a handful of early round prospects like Cook and Walker
2018 is way to far ahead for me to even look at
Derwin James looks good everytime I see him
I really want to work on the front 7 on D as a prieooty
Walter football has us picking Zach Cunningham ILB Vandy 6’4 230 in round 1 as a 3 down LB, good at cover and a reliable tackler. Then follows that up with Taco Charlton 6’6 272 DE Michigan who is very quick off the edge.
I WOULD LOVE THIS DRAFT.
That’s exactly what I want
MLB then DE
naples,
is all the talk about drafting ajabieala. that he had bad knees. i admit maybe cause i am any florida team homer but i think Cook is special. he maybe just another draft bust. but i sure would like to see him in a fins uniform.
I am a huge FSU fan, and I think Dalvin Cook is a very scary RB, but i just think we have such glaring needs on defense that we should draft there this year.
Maybe Gase can out “cheat” Bellicheat?

There might easily be about the same amount of Dolphins fans as Jets fans. None of my friends who have season tickets want to go, partly because it’s a Saturday night, and partly because they SUCK!!!!!!!
Mike E — maybe you and the Pig and whoever else up there should consider going late. Tix on stubhub are going as low as $13 in the nosebleeds and a bit over a hundred sets you up pretty darn nice on field level. It’s a firesale.
The Jets have something to play for on Saturday.
Right now they have the sixth draft pick.
With a loss they could be #5.
With a win they could fall as far down as #10.
Hyde with the most likely way we can get in the playoffs. Leaves us all as Pats fans against next weekend.
—————-
Forget all the tie-breakers and possible variables. Here’s the clear path for the Dolphins to make the playoffs:
1. Win two of their three final games.
2. Denver loses two of its final three (home against New England, at Kansas City and home against Oakland).
That’s it. If those two things happen, they’ll earn the sixth and final playoff berth no matter what else occurs. Well, almost anything else.
If the Dolphins get to 10 wins, the only way Baltimore (with a tie-breaker against Dolphins) gets to 10 wins is by beating Pittsburgh. That gets Pittsburgh 10 wins. Baltimore then wins the AFC North and the Dolphins have the tie-breaker over Pittsburgh (having beaten the Steelers) for the final wild-card berth.
Evolution is amazing
Just think, soon you guys will all improve into pigkind
For now – I guess I have to put up with you human issues

I don’t think so. Saturday night is a rough time. Plus, my kids are in from college, and we have a tradition of doing Saturday might dinner together. If you’re thinking eat dinner t the stadium, my kids couldn’t care less about going to a football game. 😦
Damn millenials. What is wrong with them? Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday night to me.
