OK, so here we are, the most important game of the 2017 season to date. Some, not all of the starters will be playing not only the entire 1st half of this game, but some will play into the 3rd quarter as well. Game 3 of the preseason is the so called Dress Rehearsal, and this will give the coaches a much better idea how the starters look, and where the team is at.
This game will not include heavy duty strategizing, at least not as far as the game plan is concerned. Neither team is going to show their true personalities, and will follow a basic vanilla gameplan. It’s all about execution. Who’s doing things right, who isn’t, and most likely, guys that aren’t doing it right will be executed. Well, not really, but they might be cut with a poor showing.
QB Jay Cutler had an excellent practice yesterday with the Eagles, and hopefully, set the tone for tomorrow’s game. It would be nice to see Cutler excel tomorrow, I think that could really boost not only his confidence, but also his teammates. For Cutler to look good, he’s going to need help from that shaky O-line. I believe OG/C Kraig Urbik is injured and out for tomorrow’s game, so that means OT/OG Jesse Davis will probably play LG, and Jake Brendel will probably play C, with Jermon Bushrod playing RG, and of course, the bookends will be LT Laremy Tunsil and RT Ja’Wuan James. We need this unit to look solid, to protect Cutler, and to give the RB’s running lanes.
On the defensive side, it’s a whole different story. We so desperately need for everyone to stay healthy. Newly acquired MLB Rey Maualuga will not be playing, but the Dolphins would really like to see some guys step up. The CB battle should be fierce, even with the season ending injury to CB Tony Lippett, we still have good talent there. Maxwell, Howard, Verner, Tankersley, McCain, Pitts, Aikens and Thomas give the Dolphins pretty good depth.
At LB, will Mike Hull be able to make the right calls, and even more importantly, not get washed out and make tackles? I’m not worried about Timmons and Alonso, but it would be nice for Hull to be stout against the run, even though we now have Maulauga. I’d also love to Godchaux continue to impress, and push Jordan Phillips back into the rotation. Phillips looks hungry all the time, but is he hungry to keep his starting spot? We’ll see tomorrow. I like what we have on the D-line, with our additions of DE William Hayes, and of course Charles Harris. I think Harris will just keep getting better and better as the year goes on, as they limit his snaps early on, and then slowly increase his workload. He’s mostly going to be a pass rush specialist this season, and with the current depth, that’s perfect.
I want to see the run game clicking, I want see Cutler upright and throwing accurate passes for scores, and I want to see this defense look tough. Our defense last year was kind, I want to see some mean. Don’t give opposing RB’s second chances, and sometimes 3rd chances, make the tackle! I want God-show to be all up in the backfield of the Eagles, disrupting everything. I want Hull stopping RB’s dead! I want Howard, Maxwell and All-Terrain shutting things down. Hey, it’s only preseason, but like a crystal ball, it’ll show you some things to come. I think we’ll have a better idea of what our team really is, and I hope for all of our sakes, it’s not like the oddsmakers say, that we’re a 7 win team.
GO DOLPHINS! Stay healthy!

After watching the Eagles game, and I know it’s only preseason, but I’m starting to wonder if we should change our defensive scheme. We’ll find out after the first couple of games of the season, but early returns show similar problems on D as last year.
I’ve posted probably 10 times in the last 3 months, and I get a page turn? Woo-hoo! I’m buying a powerball ticket.
I was thinking about the defense earlier and thought to myself, how many games do the core guys have playing together when you really think about it. A lot of guys have been added the last few years and don’t have a lot of experience playing together. Young players in the mix too. My hope is they start to gel as the season goes on even if they get off to a slow start.
Yeah, good points, hopefully as they play together longer we improve overall.
Parker reminds me of Michael Irvin. The crossing route in the 2nd PS game and the fly route jump ball in the 3rd. That was Irvin’s game.
He doesn’t remind you of Ernest Wilfork—-same size. Maybe Karooo. Irwin was a showboat coke dealer punk. His son allmost got kicked off of the st.thomas HS team because he took after his dad with his showboating disrespectful crap. Parker is a respectful kid who respects the game and acts mature.
No he doesn’t and I’m talking about their style of game. Irvin was so much better than Wilfork why even go there and Parker is so much more talented as well.
Kong, a lot of the defensive issues seem to be breakdowns. Chemistry comes with time. We really have a lot of new faces over the last 2-3 years and some were too green early on and some got hurt. There isn’t a big body of work with this group. But there is physical talent there.
It shouldn’t take two years to learn to stop the run, but we’ll see, it very well could be a chemistry thing. If we’re still struggling to stop the run by the end of this year something has to change.
When you think about the personnel last year a lot of guys were 1st timers, we got banged up or some weren’t here yet – Hayes, Harris, Godchaux, Timmons, Allen and McDonald etc. Howard played half a season, Jones even less. Maxwell and Alonso 1st seasons. There really has been no continuity on defense the last 3 seasons and Gase’s 1st last season. Got another week of practice and a PS game, then the RS game week practice game plan to clean some stuff up. Fingers crossed. LOL
Anyone on this site who makes red sauce ever add a dollop of peanut butter to the mirepoix? I was skeptical, but I tried it today, and was kind of blown away by the results. It added a savory element and reduced sweetness in a good way.
Maybe just mash up some peanuts into the sauce as an alt.
Yeah, you could probably make that work and achieve a similar effect. The concept was out of left field for me for this type of sauce. I know a couple people here make red sauce, meat sauce, etc. Just wondering if anybody else has heard of this before.
Looks like you and I are the only ones not watching the ‘fight’.
Not into it enough even though I’m intrigued about it.
To me it’s just a money grab. McGregor has the proverbial puncher’s chance, but it’s extremely unlikely, and this fight shouldn’t be remotely close.
Just watched the second half for the first time, our D sucks at the bottom. 9 guys in the box and can’t stop the Eagles, pathetic. Okoye, Chase Allen, Warmsley…

1 vs. #2 HS teams facing off Friday. BG has won 55 straight games is ranked #2 and has won 3 national HS football championships. They barely beat St. Thomas last year in 3x overtime. .———————–
———————————————- This game is on ESPN
The Bishop Gorman varsity football team has an away non-conference game @ Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) on Friday, September 1 @ 7p.
I know that Bellycheat will keep the pasties* rollin but losing Edelman will hurt on game day for real. he and Brady have a built-up chemistry that is hard to get to quickly. Plus Edelman is tough, crafty, and has great hands. To replace him they will need somebody with the football IQ to be close to that Super Bowl winning catch, to have the good hands to softly snatch it off the turf and yet cradle it for a catch, and the toughness to contort his body and still take a fall into the dirt with nothing to break the fall.
How many times have we had that team on the ropes and had to watch Edelman bail Brady out with 8 yds on a 3rd and 7? for example … Seems he does that once or twice every game and not just against us. He’s even better than Welker was at that shit. Being a former QB, he has a feel for where everybody is and how to magically appear at just the right line of sight for Brady and still be in a soft spot in the defense.
I think this loss is going to hurt them in spite of the HC being able to redraw his game plans.
We only need them to lose 2 games because of this and they go 10-6 and in danger of being tied with us.
That’s why i am worried about them getting Drew Morgan, who seems to have that same feel for the flow, maybe not as well developed as yet.
But he could be the next in the series of white, dependable, crafty, always open receivers that they love to have up there.
Pardon the white comment, but hey look at who has thrived there.
ditto the above serious loss for them
… they lost Ninkovich, another career over-achiever and thorn in our side. Same thing as Edelman in a way. You can’t just plug in any B-grade DE in there and teach him to be intuitive and always in the right spot to make a play. Witness the failed Kony Ealy experiment.
Ninkovich was the third in the string of guys like him behind Tedy Bruschi and Mike Vrabel.
This loss will hurt them for 1-3 big plays per game as well.
What has Drew Morgan done? I keep hearing how great he was before camp, then not so much when the pads came on, and in preseason games he’s been invisible too. Maybe I missed some end of game catches though. Why do you feel this way about Naples?
Because you think he’s next in line to be a great slot receiver I’m going to take another look.
Kid is at least getting praise in camp for what he does. Don’t have the same feeling as I did for Chris Hogan, but then our camp is not on hard knocks either.

Dolphins Will “Seriously Listen” To Trade Offers For WR Jarvis Landry? http://bit.ly/2wfX4Fa
Was expecting someone to come up with that. If we were going to trade any big name Landry would be most logical btwn our depth at WR, his contract situation, and such. But real easy to say will “seriously listen” when you know you can’t be proved wrong. Only way to do that is a re-sign and we don’t have the cap for it after bringing Cutler in.
IMO they know they’re close and want to shore up an area of need like LB or OL. Draft picks ain’t gonna do it but you never know.
My main thought has always been that Gase & Co are building a long-term competing franchise first. So would not be shocked if they dealt Landry, but if they do in my mind will probably be because either the offer was just too good to refuse and/or they think the price of Jarvis’ 2nd contract will be too pricey. LB or G would for sure be the most obvious trade bait for them though.
James Walker
ESPN Staff Writer
For the first time with the Dolphins, new LB Rey Maualuga is dressed for practice. I’m not sure how much he will do today, but that’s a step forward for him.
I don’t think trading Landry for a OG is in our favor for value, but for a starting play-making LB, yes there might be.
I already listed my potential trade scenarios, thereby reducing my douchiness quotient.
We cannot afford the $15mill tag on Jarvis, nor is he worth that.
Worse case scenario is he walks like Vernon and we get nothing but a 3rd round comp pick.
G is the greater overall need though. Raekwon will be back next year.
a minor factor is how Maualuga looks, but really he is just a stop-gap measure, not a real solution.
Raekwon will be back. but when he is, he’ll still be a 21-yr-old rookie and Timmons will be even older and what about this year?
Best case is we trade Landry for a mid-first round pick with Philly or for Hicks with his 7 INTs in 2 yrs or the Vikings mid-first rounder or Minny for Eric Kendricks, who has 6.5 sacks and was their leading tackler the last 2 yrs.
Philly just cut 2 WRs and a CB, sooooo maybe they are making moves.
If we do trade Landry we better get good value.
Right? I wouldn’t give him up for less than a high 2nd rounder, like from SF or Cleveland. The Browns have a stockpile of high picks right? They could peel one off for Landry like it’s nothing.
The Browns have two 1s and three 2s.
and the Browns probably believe they have found their young QB in DeShone Kizer, so they don’t need to scrimp for one.
If we trade Landry for a OG, he better be an all-pro with good years left.
Wouldn’t have to be one-on-one swap though. Could be something like the one for Stills with us getting the draft pick.
Nice if we could get a sleeper ILB with a high ceiling like we got with Stills and a draft pick throw-in!!!!
I would hate giving him to the jest or jills or OMG New England to fill in for Edelman. If we must lose Jarvis, put him in the NFC, so he can’t haunt us.
No way we trade him within the division.
BTW, the stooooopid jest traded a CB to the eags for a, get this, Safety. Did they not just draft TWO safeties? Man, not even Ireland was that dense.
Well…

Your stance against racism is very partial, making you part of the problem.
———————————————————————————————-
exactly what do you mean I am part of the problem? The problem is not enough people don’t stand up against it publicly when these racist think its OK to insult people with racist remarks—did you even watch and listen or read the whole article? The white trash lady got what she deserved by touching the victim.
Steve it seems that Drew Morgan caught a ton of balls in college of the type that the pros designate a slot receiver to get. And for us he has been open many times in the PS games, but Doughty over throws him or worse every time. I’d like to see him in with the ones or at least Moore.
PS: I think they might have been hiding Stringfellow so as to keep him on the PSquad if necessary.
Actually I think he is good enough to be our #6 WR, but with our OL in disarray like it is, we might need to keep 10 there, or 7 LBs or 10 DBs this year and only 5 WRs, if Stringfellow cannot play STs. Then hope to tuck him on the taxi squad and hope nobody poaches him.
The pats are getting back gronk this year and he more than makes up for the lost productivity of lost production from edelman. The replacement won’t catch as much but the difference could be made up with gronk and brady spreading it around more. Who knows the replacement may blossom who has been waiting in the wings. I think the biggest concern for the patriots may be Brady–the guy is what 40 now or soon. Quick timing patterns can only go so far before some teams figure how to disrupt this and more timely patterns have to be used by Brady. 40 is a age where hard hits can cause injuries as opposed to when he was younger.
Gronk, Allen, Cooks, Hogan, Amendola, someone else… they’ll be fine.
If the team gets the right offer, Landry is as good as gone this Friday. First Tannenbaum is on the air Thursday talking about player for player trades and now this.
Team is in WIN NOW mode so they could be looking to deal Landry for a player who can help them in area of need OR they could also be looking to try and get picks that would enable them to move up in 1st for a qb in ’18. Going to be interesting.
I heard its a great QB class for next draft…Who knows they might be able to swing something for tanny and then let rookie sit behind cutler for a yr to learn. Good to have problems like these
I don’t want to trade Landry
Neither do I.
It’s pretty much a given that Maxwell will not be on the team next year and that’s $10M with no cap hit. He’s about to be benched for Verner.
Does “seriously listening ” mean they listen to the offer without laughing?
Or are they only listening to serious offers?
We’d be stupid to trade him. It makes absolutely no sense. Yeah we’re soooo good after one playoff appearance which we lost that we can trade away our best player, at least one of our top 3, and everything will be fine.
It’s dumb!
Get Serious!
It would have to be an offer we can’t refuse and I doubt we get it.
I expect them to reject any trade offers but I don’t know if they will be laughing or not
Tannenbaum stop with the fart noises we’re supposed to be “seriously listening”!
Trading Landry might help with math but they’ll be sure to fail chemistry
It doesnt fit with the way they have been resigning their own IE: Jones, Stills.. but it could happen … Cutler is on a one year deal , i dont see him in next years plans at this point , and no one is going to trade for RT when hes out for surgery
WOW that is brilliantly stated and spot on. And chemistry is more important than cash!!!
in the won-lost record I mean.
What is cut down day ??
9/2
Thank ya. Have to plan a fantasy draft around that ..
Couple more significant injuries this week, Bears WR Meredith looks like he tore up his knee ( nothing confirmed) and Chiefs RB done for year as well
Spencer Ware^^
Tim: are you (or anyone else) watching games streaming through game pass ?
I did on a trial basis PS game 2.
I was informed that NFL Sunday ticket has signed an exclusive deal in Canada with an on line company DAZN, so i cannot get it through cable , and will have to stream .. wonderring how it will work for flipping between games.. does Sunday ticket Work same as Game Zone, where ya have to close and open new game streams or can ya flip quickly game to game ?
I don’t know about any of that.
Alrighty. Thanx.
Anyone else have any experience streaming Sunday Ticket ?
I stream games online but it can be a pain in the ass with freezes and you have to reload and you miss some plays but at least you can watch most of the game.
Toba — you are obviously going to have to check out for yourself. Rules might be completely different in Canada than in the US. At one point moved from a cable building to a Direct TV one and all of a sudden saved money by not having to head to a sports bar. But that was before streaming. If it works like Sunday ticket did for me straight from Direct TV……what a FF dream. And no it was nothing like Game Zone (every game other than your local one to flip though).
Yes i at least will be able to get all Fins games.. right now with game zone i have as Tim said exit load and repeat to change feeds.. i guess week one will be the litmus test .. i am spoiled by the cable package where each game was assigned its own individual channel and flipping was uber easy .. i am hoping It is that way as well
Well then you had the equivalent of NFL Sunday ticket from Direct TV. And only way to get that in the US is through Direct TV. And when I said Gamezone meant Redzone, which is what my cable company offered. That helps with fantasy, but not on watching games. The official NFL streaming package that Tim tried only shows preseason games live in the US though if that helps, but does offer replays after.
To be clear, I do not want to trade Landry. Love the guy.
But I felt we got kinda ripped off with the triple hit that year we lost Rishard Mathews, Lamar Miller, and Olivier Vernon to FA
I don’t think the comp picks equaled the value we lost, even though it was somewhat cushioned by having other good players to make up for the losses.
So if we are gonna lose Jarvis to FA anyway, I would prefer to trade him and not get ripped off again. Only way to do that is trade him now, because then the receiving team could get him cheap for a year before having to give him the raise we won’t be able to afford.
another point that could happen next yr if he isn’t traded or signs a new contract is some team could offer a high salary next yr because they know it would hurt us dishing out all the available cap money towards one player. If this happens then we get just a 3rd or 4th rounder for compensionthe following yr for draft.
Those 3 players’ contracts add up to $126M though.
Why would we trade Jarvis? If we’re trying to WIN NOW, he’s cheap labor (still on his rookie contract) and he’s the best WR on our team. If it’s because we don’t want to pay him BIG $$$ next year, guess what… the team that trades for him will have to pay him BIG $$$ next year.
Trading him won’t clear SHIT for cap space being he’s only costing us $1.1M this year and we’re going to clear a boatload of space next year when we cut Byron Maxwell, Ja’Wuan James, and possibly Mike Pouncey… not to mention, we won’t carry BOTH Tannehill and Culter next year. We can EASILY afford Jarvis next year, and we can always give him the franchise tag.
If we trade a player, it doesn’t even make sense to trade Jarvis… unless we get at LEAST a 1st Round draft pick in return, nothing less (don’t see that happening). Look for somebody that can give us some actual cap relief to be traded for somebody that’s actually worth trading for… that’s not Jarvis.
I’m not a ‘rocket surgeon’ (though I play one on TV), but trading Jarvis would be absolute foolishness, doesn’t make fiscal sense in any way, shape, or form, and it weakens a strength of ours… as we’re playing to WIN this year.
Agreed on most of this but not so fast on James. Let the season play out. However I do agree Maxwell will not be back, at least not at his current price. The only way we move on from Pouncey is if he can’t play. Gase loves the guys and so do his teammates.
Toba, I think I misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you were talking about something unique in Canada. Yeah the live streams are a challenge each week. One week one works well with good quality and then not the next week so I use another. As far as NFL Game Pass it’s only for the PS live, then you only get rewinds for the RS. I don’t really have a need for that. I wish the NFL would provide games online as opposed to only Direct TV.
Well based in what they did with Canada , it will be coming to you soon . Goodell said they are aligning with the new gen of people wanting to watch on mobile devices … redzone will also be included with DaZN.. cost is 20.00/ month can cancel anytime which will be 30.00 cheaper than cable ST..still had to drop 200.00 for an apple tv box to acess it though..
It’s pretty funny how we speculate on getting rid of so many of our players. RT gets hurt off he goes. Trade Landry. Get rid of this guy and that guy’s contract. Replace them with who? It’s kind of crazy.
Yeah we arent the Patriots 😜
I believe the FO listens to all trade offers. I also believe every player is tradeable if the offer is too good to pass up.
That goes for every team. But the grass is not always greener.
Ha! I was going to mention that. LOL
Lots were down on last years Kiko/Maxwell deal but i think it worked out okay, slightly different though as we did not give up any players..
Just moved down 6 spots in the 1st.
Maxwell is an enigma. The guy starts off notoriously slow and looks like the worst CB in the league for a few weeks then looks like a shutdown corner for like 10 games, then gets hurt. His last two seasons have gone like that and it looks like it’s happening again.
Alonso was the prize in that trade.
100% agree.
Lou with a hard on for trading Landry
Exactly Tim.
I dont think the FO is out doing the shopping…..
Agreed. Teams are likely calling saying so where do you stand with Landry?
Reading the comments on streaming games……
I haven’t had TV service in 2 years. I think I’m going to get Directv again with the free Sunday ticket. Besides the annoyance of week to week stream issues, I have to be home during game and that’s a burden on me. I need to be able to record it most weeks as I’m usually always having to be at my restaurant
It appears the service has an archive of all preseason and last season RS games so pvring , while not possible will not be necessary as i should be able to stream it after the fact… i ll keep you all updated as RS gets underway, as i imagine it will happen in US soon as well
Gamepass is another option for me as well. Except the weeks I can watch live. And I can’t find how long the wait is to view replay of that day’s game. But it isnt supported on my TV…..yet. I guess I could figure out how to hook up the laptop to TV.
Yeah i don’t understand why its being made so difficult .. or its i just hate change lol
Right?

I’m just trying to illustrate that we can clear a BOATLOAD of cap space next year if need be. I will ALWAYS let the season play out, but it’s highly unlikely that Maxwell, James, or Pouncey (<– injury prone) will earn their 2018 paydays.
This nonsense of trading Jarvis Landry for 'somebody/anybody else' is getting under my skin. For whom? At what position? How would that afford us cap relief (merely $1.1M this year)? It's just nonsensical, premature, fiscally irresponsible, makes us weaker as we try to WIN NOW, comical, and even Omar is pitching for this to happen (that should tell EVERYBODY something).
As far as Ja'Wuan James is concerned… he'd better make the Pro-Bowl this year with his $9.3M scheduled for next year with $0 dead cap (picked up his 5th year option). Let's face it, Tim… Ja'Wuan and Maxwell are in the EXACT same boat: BALL or DIE.
Holy shit!!!!

The Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins are finalizing a trade that will send wide receiver Jarvis Landry to the Browns for a 2018 conditional second round draft pick and offensive lineman Cameron Erving. The Browns have three second round draft picks in the 2018 draft.
*
Not sure how I feel about this. I need to let it settle in. Wow! I know Erving is a versatile OL but hasn’t he been kind of a bust?
Poor Jarvis
LOL! Nice try! 😉
Lets hope Caroo has arrived
Mando tweeted earlier that its not happening……
Lol…..its like draft day
Well then that was just Cruel 🤡
Jarvis Landry isn’t going ANYWHERE. I told y’all this MONTHS ago. Armando, Hal Habib, and PFT confirm me.
Not by NAME, of course! 😉
All fun and games except for those who catch it fresh…..got me into a Cameron Erving google search. 🙂
Schad — “So, Jay, how open does DeVante Parker have to be for you to throw him the ball?
Cutler — “Not open at all, Covered. As long as there’s just one defender, the ball’s going to go up to him.”
Schad — “When did you identify Parker’s talents?”
Cutler — “Day One”

They do seem to have developed a bond/chemistry, hope it continues RS
Have a feeling Grant is real happy as well.
Parker has A.J. Green upside.
LOL
Fake news is alarming isn’t it? 😉
That’s why I don’t trust SHIT these days, and I’m certainly not alone. The liberal #FakeNews is drawing us dangerously close to a new Civil War.
True but the right is also involved in fake news. All of it is BS.
For me WR is Landry, Stills, Parker, Grant, ?
Thats a nice dynamic bunch
So that trade mentioned above was a big lie?
Yes, it was Tim just imitating liberal news outlets.
Tim is Silly

I shall honor your request, Naples. But let it be known, it’s not a matter of a political viewpoint anymore being vehement LIES are being spun by the media, FACT. And I’d respectfully ask that Tim not post #FakeNews, so as to remind us all of the political climate we’re all in.
No harm, no fouls, all good. Let’s keep it REAL football is right. PROPS!
You still managed to get the last word anyway. You still crossed the line into expressing your opinions People who can’t stand hearing anything that disagrees with their previously held opinion are childish. Name one “fake news” item and let’s debate that and leave football for those who want to enjoy life.
I don’t care to get political here. I said what I felt and that’s that. Please don’t try to protract political matters with your above post. Don’t call people “childish”, trying to bait others into a political debate… which you just previously stated should not go on here.
YOU, sir, just contradicted yourself. Let’s keep it football is right.
LOL @ you guys. I was going to make the source Mike Hunt but I thought that would give it away. LOL
Lol!
IS, you’re part of the problem, because you only seem to care about racism from the right. How about BLM, or ANTIFA you seem fine with what they’re doing. I haven’t heard you mention anything about the statues being destroyed around the country.
That was for JS, got spell checked.
I think that false trade had it been true would have made me altogether quit football. Omg that’s terrible value just giving away one of the best players this team has ever drafted for nothing and for no reason.
That was the point. Landry is a core player on so many levels.
I just read it and didn’t bat an eye, because it didn’t make any sense. Yeah let’s trade a probowler at a position that is valued for a guy at one that isn’t and isn’t that good.
It was too real-looking to be funny. That was cruel, Tim.
I depend on you guys to bring insight to my understanding of pro football.
If you are going to make a joke, pls alert me better.
Erving did go #19 overall in 2015. pays at a need, and even if he hasn’t played up to his draft pick…….was for sure realistic with a 2nd back. And Landry is on the last year of his contract. Gotta give Tim props for at least putting out a logical spoof.
This guy Matt Haack may be taking Darrs job as fins new punter, the lefty has great spin on the ball
When a team says they are not interested in trading a player you can bet they are shopping him, maybe New England may have interest with the loss of Edleman, Why not? didn’t we give them wes welker?
http://nfltraderumors.co/dolphins-will-seriously-listen-trade-offers-wr-jarvis-landry/
We had TENDERED Wes Welker. At which point, the Patsies* put in a ‘poison pill’, as they say.
what was it? if he plays more than 2 games in florida they would give him a 10 million bonus i think? knowing that’s all they could possibly play in Florida
Why would we want to trade Landry? Because, as we saw the other night, we now have an offense that’s going to put points on the board but our first team D can’t stop a 2nd team O.
Who do you trade Landry to, and for whom, Bro?
trade him for a first round pick and decent OL
I would think anyone is trade-able for the right price, Money should be a big concern being that he may have to be franchised next year, and i’m not sure cutler plays that style of short intermediate passes more of a downfield guy, with our strong WR corps he may be expendable for the right price.
That said i like Landry and hope he stays.
MF
I was actually referring to Trump as acting childish.
Dude… SMH
Get off the political train already and take your own advice. I done TOLD ya that I’d honor your request, so as not to be political. Why continue this, I ask? If your looking for a fight, you won’t get it from me. Keep it football, Brother.

trade him for a first round pick and decent OL
———
I could get with that… but it’s highly unlikely to occur for a plethora of reasons.
The TV stations and the TAMPA BAY TIMES are among the throng of Bucs’ fans whining about their offense. My view is somewhat different. When the Bucs get Doug Martin back from his suspension, they should be at least a middle-of-the-pack offense, if not better than that. He’ll miss the first three games of this season which, of course, includes the opener at Miami. Thus I give the Fins a real chance in this game, despite the fact I’ve only seen them play in parts of 2 preseason games. I HAD PLANNED on going to the second home exhibition game, but the lack of my pre-paid parking pass ended those plans (both Mrs. OD and your’s truly are still unable to walk the long distance from the cash lot.)
———————-
I expect an absolutely full house in Hard Head Stadium for the September 10 game. At least 10,000 to 15,000 Tampa Bay fans will make the trek down I-75 for this contest. I would not bet the house either way on this game. I’m particularly concerned about how the Fins’ secondary will match up against the Bucs’ receivers, especially 6’5″ Mike Evans. Our defense will have to come up big if Miami is to win this contest.
PS: GIANCARLO STANTON hit his 50th home run today!! He’s hit 17 homers in his last 24 games. He needs to hit 12 more in his last 34 games to break Roger Maris’ pre-steroids record of 61 home runs in one season. If he does it, he’ll likely win the NL Most Valuable Player Award.
He needs to get tested!!!
BRIAN: I’m SURE Stanton’s been tested dozens of times in his minor league and major league years. He’s probably been tested more times than most teachers his age. I’ve heard he turned down a football scholarship to play football at USC. Smart choice!
OJ Howard and Desean Jackson as well. You have every right to be concerned. We are going to have a lot of match up problems with them.
Desean is my biggest concern. Especially after us giving up a 50-yd TD last game.
Agreed with Naples… DeSean is going to be a menace if our Secondary doesn’t gel and soon.
Carlos Hyde went to the high school 2 miles from my house. Was a beast for those poor normal people playing high school football trying to tackle a future NFLer.
OD, Great game, after Stanton hit 50 Yelich hits a triple with a one base throwing error and scores then Dietz homers to right field, we are still 4.5 back of Colorado with the Nationals coming up, rooting for the Mets tonight
Yo Lou…Since no one else called you on it…why do you want to come post with us douchebags?
Oh….and the listening to Landry trade offers has been de-bunked.
finally have internet… completely missed Philly pre-season game … lost power here in Corpus Christi due to Harvey. With all of this tragedy I have a secret guilt of worrying about ‘what happened in the game’ 😦
Been wondering if you were ok!
Glad to hear you made it
Glad that you and your family are safe!
good to see your OK. Be very careful in the days ahead with the flooding and down electrical lines. They say most accidents and bad things happen in the aftermath of these events. Again, glad to see your OK.
Good to hear you are doing okay
Was about to send a kayaking team for you
Hope you came out of it feeling like you dodged a bullet overall.

IS, you’re part of the problem, because you only seem to care about racism from the right. How about BLM, or ANTIFA you seem fine with what they’re doing. I haven’t heard you mention anything about the statues being destroyed around the country.
——————————————————————————————————
That lady in the article stood up against a racist lady that insulted a hiatan with a racial insult,it’s not about BLB which you seem to bring up as a racial racist organization a lot. The whole statue thing is a farce for white supremacy and KKK. Let me ask you how many blacks belong to the white supremacy or KKK groups? No racism is acceptable and more people stood up like the lady, things would not be like they are with people thinking racism is fine.
Yes. I am fine with BLM. They do more good than bad in this world. Oh yeah, they are a international recognized charity with a mostly WHITE board of directors. That must really be threatening. How is that Rudy Guillanni said they are a racist terrorist organization? LOL They do GOOD internationally and they do GOOD locally BUT people with predetermined racist attitudes, only see a occasional BAD thing which 99% of the time doesn’t belong or is associated with BLM. 1 bad apple doesn’t make the whole bussell bad.
How many black or for that matter different nationalities belong to KKK or white supremacy groups now? Now, how many different nationalities belong to BLM?
That lady in your video is my hero
For the most part though, given that it’s football season I think we should try to keep the political posts to a minimum
The KKK has been in the news more since Trump started running, than i can remember over the last 30 years, why do you think that is? You’ve just proved my point on being partisan, don’t need to say another word to you about anything political.
Hey Rhino – Glad to hear all is basically well.
Marco (Lil Marco) Rubio was at Dolphins practice today. Damn! Forgot not to post political issues
LOL…..some things are stronger than politics. We should all be fans of Marco, Estefan, the Williams sisters, Fergie and Tosh, least while on the board. 🙂
does that fall under football, political or sexual issues?
I guess it could be both – Double whammy!
Kenny Stills bought a Fort Lauderdale place relatively low-priced ($2.4 mil) given his contract. Nice property but one built in the 60’s in a slower area and well-away from the pricey places closer to the beach that he can afford. Sounds like a guy won’t get arrested in a nightclub or go broke after his playing days are over.
That looks sweet, and very private. Like their own little island!
Private seems what he was looking for. What did not mention was on a full acre (that’s huge with a dock) and that one thing it had was it’s own gym built by the previous owners. Sounds like he is ready to just play football.
He should invest in painting it now
Ugly color except he’s a dolphin.
looks like the las olas islands area. Isn’t that your neck of the woods Stanger?. You will probably cross paths with him in that las-olas strip area.
the restaurant Mango’s reopen yet? We always stopped for a drink there if we were eating in the area. Heard they closed this year for new owners….
Real good call but he is further West than that….South Fork New River. But only path will probably run across with him is cause he ate at some place and hear the story. Already a Cutler siting…maybe that is why they comp checks. And yep…..Mangos will re-open not so long from now, but will be same name different place.

wtf?
sorry guys
What was it? We should be able to get that to post
Thank you. I don’t know how to post a pic I guess. It’s a teenage boy water-skiing down my street in the Naples flooding .
Where was the pic from? I’m not a techie either, but it might be unable to grab it due to it’s origin.
Why are you posting pictures of teenage boys?
for you
I’m pretty sure he wasn’t worried about it.
I was a little worried about buying a Landry colorush jersey last season
its bad enough I spent $ on a Dion Jordan Jersey which I got no use out of
And no one has better connections inside Davie these days than Poupart. He’s more or less on the payroll now. He won’t break the scandal, but what he says comes straight from Gase’s mouth.
Gase actually said it at a press conference
everyone is reporting it now
its pretty reliable
Even better. And until he shows different to us or the players…..have to figure Gase’s word is true as they come.
He would look like an ass if they traded him now and if tannenbaum traded him over Gase’s objection it would be an ugly precedent for their relationship
Based on preseason games, Cutler speaking so highly of Parker, and the way Cutler plays, I don’t see Landry getting the ball as much, and when he does I expect it to be more on the outside.
I tend to think they are going to make Parker a bigger part of the offense
I think Cutler stretches the field a lot more than Tannehill and it works with him as a QB. FWIW I think Cutler has been known to do this to a fault
Landry can make a big impact with less targets
I’m not sure he will adjust his game to get more on the outside but I’m pretty sure the passing offense will look different this season
I think we re-sign landry at some point in 18.
Me thinks so too
A lot of things can happen between now and Landry hitting the free agency market
I don’t think the organization is in a hurry to get things done now
It doesn’t mean they won’t eventually
I kind of would like to wait to see Landry play this year, but with the uncertainty at QB who knows.

Well, we will have to wait and see who Belicheat tries to take away when we play them. The last few years it has been Landry he has tried to neutralize. Now that Parker is coming out we may see a lot more 1 on 1 on Landry.
Good call on what the evil genius tries to take away. He can’t double Landry and Parker and put 8 in the box. And if Thomas is more than a passing thought…..
That is what is so nice about our WR corps now. (with the RB’s thrown in too) I don’t see any teams being able to stop us by just doubling one guy. If they take Parker away, Landry, stills & grant will carve them up. (or the RB’s) and so on. It should be exciting to watch this year.
I’d really like to see teams try to take Parker away, leaving Landry with more room to work on safer passes underneath. Of course teams will change it up and disguise coverages, but I’m just talking about taking Parker away more than Landry.
They feed of each other
I’d like to see more of Drake and Grant in open space.
We saw a little designed run play for Drake in preseason number 3 that was interesting and seemed to be about using his speed
Wow, Bills receive the Chiefs 4th in 2019 for Ragland.
I have my doubts about resigning Landry unless it is done prior to this season, if we franchise him next year that would be a 16 mil hit, if we use the transition tag we would have to match any offer, not sure we have the cap space to afford Landry?
All I can say is that we have a year before we get there and a lot can happen
I don’t think it was urgent that he re-sign now
And as it worked out, it’s a good thing we didn’t resign him, or how would we have paid Cutler?
Well there goes Ragland. The jills didn’t get much for him, but I was never a fan anyway. I don’t think he is smart enough for the NFL. Maybe in KC where he’ll be a supporting role guy he’ll do ok. They already have some really good LBs there.
Beer
I’m glad if we are not trading Landry before the season.
I have my doubts about resigning Landry unless it is done prior to this season……
We can always franchise him to keep him out of FA and then negotiate a long term contract before a certain day (not gonna look it up for this converstaion) and retract the FT. Been done lots of times before.
There will be cuts and some restructuring done to make sure that we are dialed in to resign Landry.. He’s not going anywhere.
(Piggy cuts the cheese)
Yes there will be cuts!
Lol
Gase says shut up with the Landry trade BS!!
So………..LMAO
Some serious stuff

It’s not pretty!
Don’t know when I’m going to go back to work?
Holy Shit that’s Sad !!
looks like the highway was designed with the highway below street level. Just how will they pump the water out to lakes nearby or canals?
That’s insane. Unbelievable the damage nature can do
Looks like a good thing the flooded water is on the freeway, could be designed that way.
I’m sure the Dolphins would trade Landry if the price was right!
It won’t be for a 4th rounder!!!!!
You mean not like one of these fire sale Bills trades? I think the jets will beat the bills week 1, then lose the next 15.
Both teams have given up on the season before it has even started

I just read that Houston is expected to get another 2 feet of rain. That’s insane.

Extra fiber/crunch
Many of y’all know I suffered a MAJOR flood in ’11, where I lost my home when TS Lee stalled over Pennsylvania. It was the “perfect storm” where the water-table was already nearly maxed out prior to Lee arriving.
I had to double-check, but I got roughly 15″ of rain very quickly, due to TS Lee.
That stated… I CANNOT FATHOM what the people of Texas are experiencing, with some areas predicted to receive upward of 50″ of rain in such a short amount of time… DAMMIT 😦
Thoughts and prayers to those who are in the path of Hurricane Harvey. Even I cannot relate to what they are experiencing right now. 😦
Pig and Ken,
My STAR WARS friends! I’m not sure if I’ve shared this with y’all in the past, but it’s a fan-movie about DARTH MAUL (17:48 long). The budget for this HAD to be major $$$$$$$, as you’ll see. Check it out when y’all get the chance!
Cool thank you
No problem, Ken! Enjoy!
Thanks M13
If Parker & Stills become major offensive weapons this year, which they most likely will, you’re not going to continue to target Landry 130 + times a season.
If the team is going to be unwilling to part with #1 wr money for him at the end of the season, and that’s definitely happening, it would make sense to try and move him before then and get something for him rather than letting him walk and get nothing.
Landry is as good as gone one way or another. It doesn’t do the team any good to wait until the end of the season just to make a half-hearted attempt to keep him in Miami to try and make it look good for everyone concerned.
If they were to get a good enough offer for him why not let him go? What does Landry bring to the team that’s SO great that he cannot be replaced?
He brings lots of catches. He brings lots of YAC. He brings lots of first downs. He brings lots of effort. Why trade your #1 WR when you are trying to win?
I’m going to give ya a hint here… Cutler is on a 1-year loan, meaning unless he BALLS OUT, Tannehill is our returning starter in ’18. Jarvis and OBJ jointly share the NFL record for most receptions by ANYBODY in their first 3 seasons.
I don’t discount what you’re talking about… that Jarvis isn’t scoring TDs for us like OBJ does; your beef is with Tannehill and I see that.
Let’s see how the season plays out with Cutler at the helm… you got your wish, man. Until this season is played out, neither Jarvis or Tannehill are going anywhere. We’re not going to go bat-shit nuts trying to trade marquis players to fill a void at LG or MLB.
We already signed Rey Maulagula (on the very cheap)… for better or for worse. We’ve got a cap situation right now. We can’t be spending/wheeling & dealing like drunken sailors right now. If want to augment our roster with a FA vet, look for it after week 1 when salaries are no longer guaranteed and far cheaper.
Tannehill is as good as gone and so is Landry. Stop being in denial. When all is said and done Cutler is signed to an extension, Tannehill is either cut or traded and Landry is being traded sometime in the near future.
For this team to let Landry walk in FA would be even a bigger travesty than the trade that so many will hate. Why would you let him walk and not get anything for him. You know that, even with a healthier cap situation, this team is NOT paying him #1 wr money. It’s not happening.
Why would you pay a guy with his production that kind of money? That’s crazy. The only reason he put up the numbers he did was from pure volume and that’s because Tannehill was the quarterback and you know it. You’re living in denial.
Get ready for some changes next season. With the offensive weapons this team has it can score a lot of points and there’s no room for guys who can’t help score points anymore. Phins are getting ready to make some moves that’s going to make them the next team to beat and they’re not going to become that team by sitting on a quarterback who can’t get them to that level.
They’re going all out on one of the top quarterback prospects in the next draft and it’s most likely the kid from Wyoming. This team can’t sit back any longer and watch while other teams take their quarterbacks of the future in the draft with a guy who isn’t capable of getting them where they need to go.
You trade Tannehill to another team and he’s out of the league in two years tops. Oh yeah, btw, Landry IS getting traded.
He brings a team first attitude. Doesn’t call his team mates douchebags when they are not around.

———
I don’t know where to start and I don’t know where to end. I suppose I’ll both start and end here: NOTHING is happening before this entire season has played out… barring an 0-6 or 1-5 start.
The kid from Wyoming is Josh Allen, and we’ll see how he performs this year… JUST LIKE we’ll see how our Phins perform this year. Ya CANNOT write into stone that which has yet to be determined, man.
The only way things don’t play out this way is if Cutler suffers a season ending injury or we have a lot of injuries on the team that hamper the team’s ability to win games.
Otherwise, it’s a given that Cutler is extended because, although Gase talks a good game when it comes to Tannehill, Cutler is his qb; not Tannehill.
He specifically went after Cutler to bring him out of retirement and some of it had to do with him being familiar with the system but it also had to do with his ability to run this offense and what he can do with the weapons he’s got at his disposal.
You saw firsthand on Thursday what this team is going to bring to the table on offense with a qb who has the ability to utilize it’s offensive weapons whereas what it would’ve been like with our other qb throwing the ball short of the first down marker 90% of the time.
I know, let’s trade the best player we’ve drafted since Jason Taylor because I don’t know why not we might get a washed up lineman and a shitty linebacker. Win win. You’ll see dooshbags you’ll see.
Leave it to Phins fans to think of a guy who scores 4 td’s a year as their best player.
