Landry was uncharacteristically off his game too. One for sure TD on what was a great throw by Cutler, putting it to where Landry could make a play but the defender couldn’t. Landry had hands on. It which usually is a catch, but he couldn’t haul it in.
Parker kept losing the ball in the sun. He was off and missed at least two very catchable deep passes. Seems I remember a third of one too. Stills dropped a couple.

The D had off and on game the though the secondary looked bad almost all day.

Cutler has 1 INT in 2 games. His one INT was just trying to make something happen running to escape pressure. It’s not like he threw a couple of pick 6’s
Actually Cutler’s TD to int ratio is better than Tanny’s
But his % of ints is higher
Say what you want but it was one of the worst games played by a QB in a long time. He missed open and he was just not seeing the field and was constantly late and off target with his throws. In short he was horrible

Tim is talking about a play where Cutler threw the ball to no one, it landed between Parker and Landry, I think Parker was on the right side of the end zone, and Landry was in the middle, and Cutler threw it basically between them for an incomplete pass.
Again, Cutler may have been expecting either Parker or Landry to be there. Not sure why Tim can’t accept that possibility, but it is what it is
He had time and it was wide open. What were you watching?
When he had 10 yards of open field in front of him and we needed 2 yds for a 1st down?

Ken 3.22 to 2.5 ints per attempt. But TDs to attempt is 4.62 to 4.01. so it shows ya what really makes the difference in the, Cutler is more of a deep pass risk taker, Tanny us a high percentage walk it down the field player. They have their pluses and minuses but when I compare the two in almost every QB stat they were flip flopping between the two.
The media ha s made Cutler more gunslinger throws a lot of ints but the stats don’t say that. His comp percentage is like decmial places off Tanny’s and that’s considered Tanny’s stingers attribute.
Cutler wins, by a small margin, the majority of the QB stats. So if that’s the ah ha I told you He sucks compared to Tanny, you aren’t going to have a strong argument.
We lost, he had a bad game and so you want to to be about him not being as good as Tanny, again you are just now on the other side of what was going on with Tanny previously. Where is the tolerance now? Where is the, well let’s see how he does going forward?
Btw it sounded like that was all aimed at you Ken since I replied first to you about the statistics part, but the rest was more meant for people already calling him done with us, a failure, which you might count yourself as part but aren’t the only one I was speaking to
I don’t want to trade Tannehill at all, but let’s not kid ourselves that this is the type of game RT would have thrived in. I probably would have been defending him today instead of Cutler. It’s just amazing. How many times have we seen RT have an awful game when we have no run game, and the defense can’t get off the field? How many times? SHEESH! It’s like we have subjective amnesia!
He wouldn’t have anymore success. He is roughly the same guy who also can’t take the team on his shoulders and would need solid OL play to and running game to win. Difference might have been Tanny would have run for it on a few plays where Cutler tried to force the pass. He also likely would have taken more sacks of even got stripped on some of those sacks.
Not the Tanny that had the knee injury. Maybe next year, but I’m not even sure of that. What I mean by Tanny with the injury, is if he was able to play this season with the brace. I don’t think he was going to be a running QB like he was in previous seasons
Cutler looks done to me. It’s not a one game thing. He was just okay against LA.
2 games, without the benefit of a OS or much of a TC? You make that call that fast. Again, Tanny has had multiple years, multiple TCs and PS, Be you are quick to say it’s too early. Tim I’m not saying there isn’t reasons for concern, but you need to remind yourself the advice you have given others when they did the same at the beginning of the season last year when Tanny was stinking it up. Took half a year before anything started clicking for him.

I totally agree. He hasn’t had that much playing time at all with this offense, yet all these heavy judgements are coming down. I’m shocked at how fast this blog has given up on Cutler. It’s amazing to me

Sorry D Tannehill was never as bad as Cutler was today. Even as a rookie Tannehill had better vision of the field and accuracy than what Cutler showed today. This was bad. This was real bad.
I am not saying this should be the end of Cutler cause I think he can win as many games for us as Matt Moore. I don’t think he has become a noodle arm but his passes today did not have zip on them because he was not stepping into most of his throws. It wasn’t just because of the pressure this game cause, IMO, he did it on about half his passes last week also. I think this is largely due to lack of TC and PS action. There seems to be a lot of rust in his game. He really needs watch tape on himself and fix what he is doing wrong. Us (Me, Tim, Ken) arm chair QB coaches can see it.
I’m only sweating the secondary at this point. They didn’t have anything they had to do to shut down their recovers except match up with their man and they got owned over and over, just flat out beat.
I’d bench Maxwell and see if it straightened him out, I’d put McTyer in his spot while we looked for a better pickup off a PS or FA, I’d look to Harlan Miller off Arizona’s PS.
I’d put verner in the slot which is his best spot. We need a vet that understands football better to be in that spot. McCain is always 2 steps off his man, and slot receivers can have that much of a step on their defender and ever hope to prevent quick passes. Wait until the NE game, McCain is going to get owned.
I might even think of moving Thomas there, McCain is not the answer there, but I’m also not completely convinced Verner is either.
The secondary needs a shake up or a come to Jesus about the fragility of their place in the team and definitely as starters.
It feels wierd channeling Tim, with Tim not also being himself. Almost sureal like I’m having someone else’s deja Vu
I do think our OL and coaches need to be bitch slapped after this game. I’m not going to give Cutler a bitch slap this game cause he played about the same with the exception of having more pressure. If we were able to run the ball this game like we did the last game, we would have controlled the game like last week and wore them out instead of the other way around. If we could have ran the ball, I believe we would have another close win instead of an embarrassing loss. Our D would have been able to play like they did in the 1st qtr the whole game like last week. To me, the OL caused this loss.
(BTW, Cutler has lost zip on his passes) 🙂

We lost this in the trenches on both sides of the ball… Plain and simple !! You can’t put this loss on just 1 guy. Our OLine sucked today and couldn’t open up rushing lanes or pass protect. Our front 4 on D couldn’t pressure the QB. Oh and our secondary was out of position quite a bit. We will fix this.. #GASEISPISSED !!!
