    D,

I never said the refs gave or took the game away. I just said it was a phantom call and a 14 point swing. Obviously, there’s no way to predict what would have happened, but we know for a fact that play was really big because it directly took away a TD from Tennessee and allowed Miami to get one 2 plays later.

Hey, we got a break and a very big one at that. At this point, we need to take what we can get.

Like I said, a win is a win.

The frustrating thing about this offense is every drive it’s someone new screwing up. The offense over the last 3 weeks is as bad as any I can ever remember from a Dolphins team. We FINALLY started to show some life in the 4th, maybe we can build off it.

We got the benefit of a bad PI call, and the Cassell fumble would have stood whichever way it was called IMO. It was early in the game, and doesn’t detract from the win for me. We’ve had plenty of crappy calls against us.

Our D played very well, the run defense shut it down. Harris is starting to turn it up. We’re now the number 4 scoring defense, and number 7 in total yards, If we can start forcing more T/Os like we did today,we can stay in a lot of games, The Falcons will be a big test. Hopefully our damn offense shows up.

So let me get this straight; our OL coach sends a video of himself doing coke to someone? What an absolute embarrassment for this team. Silver lining? Our OL has been awful this season and we will have a new coach in there by tomorrow the latest.

Coke heads cant be trusted to do anything but score more coke, it’s a downward spiral of life IMO

  16. Things are beginning to make a little more sense now. I have thought, nwhats wrong with our OL, picking the wrong guys, or not developing them correctly?
Then I thought of Tunsil struggling and how he was near the top of the class on draft day talent wise.
Why isn’t he kicking serious ass this year?
I never got the answers to this, but maybe THIS was the problem.
The coke Dude has to be fired today, or We have even bigger problems.

  17. Listening to Foerster talk, dudes serious low class trash.
Talking about getting high and abortions together, I don’t even want to know more.
But seriously, Foerster is this kind of guy, and Gase hired him. Gase never noticed anything amiss either, when cokeheads give off red flags.
This is a bad reflection on Gase, not a fireable one, just a negative resume point.

“Additionally, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said he changed his view on how his team should handle the national anthem. Ross said because Trump made standing for the national anthem about “patriotism,” he evolved the way he looks at the protest, according to the Miami Herald.

Ross now wants all of the Dolphins players to stand for the anthem. Three Dolphins players – Kenny Stills, Julian Thomas and Michael Thomas – remained off to the sideline during the anthem Sunday.”

Damn…I knew I liked Ross. Guess I’ll be renewing the season tickets after all. Did any of the three players make a difference yesterday? Maybe they should spend less time kneeling, more time studying and practicing.

    • I’ve personally never seen anyone practice and study during the anthem. Not on our team anyway, but to be honest, cbs and Fox carry Dolphins games, and tradionally they sell commercials during the anthem, networks know most fans don’t watch games for the anthem.
This is all a troll situation, of a thin skinned bone spur guy that is jealous of the attention the NFL gets on Sundays.
He claims .the ratings are down, because people would rather watch “yours truly” himself, lol

    The whole defense looked good

    Is anyone defending cutler today?
    How bad was he?

  29. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

Cutler didn’t look bad IMO, the whole offense did, balls were dropped, it looked like a severe lack of effort, the game plan is stupid, they keep throwing these wr screens that lose yards, nothing vertical. no misdirection. it was brutal to watch.

why is this happening? could it be that cutler is new and the team needs to gel with him? is it the OC?

    Defense looks great.

What’s your suggestion Dave? We punish him by removing his right to quit?
We all have the ability to quit our jobs – you literally only need to walk out

I’m sure resignation, comes with a waiver of rights against the team and a compensatory package. That’s he safe love for the Dolphins so they don’t get dragged down in a further contraversy about this bonehead. Whatever you need to do to go your own way is the right move to make. I bet they paid him some $ and he released them of any liability – and life goes on

This is one of the worst sources for news, SMH. It’s slanted propaganda
    ———_—————————_——————————_————————-
That’s funny. You quote the HuffPo and call something “slanted.” Journalism died with the 24-hour news cycle. Fox is no worse (and depending on your perspective) and maybe a little better than CNN. ABC, NBC, and CBS are so far in the bag for liberal causes they may as well all change their initials to DNC.

They didn’t conduct the poll, just reported it.

  38. Piggy it’s true , but it’s also incredible someone getting terminated for cocaine on the job would have ANY legal grievance. Seems like they shouldn’t, but we all know some people can’t take responsibility for self made problems.

Coke is easy to spot, its almost instantaneous and its a real burst of energy and elation. It would be akin to a person having a manic episode, though probably a little more controlled.

Meth also can be a white powder, and a lot of people crush up all kinda other shit and snort it like oxy and hydrocodone, ritalin, etc. Still, the reaction he had right after he snorts it says coke all the way imo.

People work like a mofo on meth too lol if you can get past all the facial ticks and scab from picking at their skin. You ever want your house clean though, find a main who does meth and that fucker wont have a spot of dust or dirt ANYWHERE. You might be missing some of your shit when you come home, but its the price you pay for 1hr worth of maid service that would have taken a team of maids 2 days to do otherwise.

They could make the show hoarders be like a hour long episode, and focus not on the actual cleanup on the house, but 55 minutes of the show is getting them matched up with the right meth head, and the other 5 is the cleanup. You would have the entire nations hoarding problems fixed in a season or two of weekly episodes.

Agreed, the defense has taken a big leap especially in run D. Our secondary isn’t what I hoped it would be, but overall a big step forward from last season.

As if the production wasn’t evidence enough, our offensive body language is AWFUL. You can tell these guys aren’t invested and that starts with our QB. There is just no reason to stick with Cutler other than a stubborn ego. Moore is an average QB that will create big plays for us and the other team, but he’s a leader out there. He gives a shit and puts his body on the line for the team. The rest of the offense will follow suit. Other than maybe signing Albert, I don’t know what can be done about the OL this season.

I enjoyed the playoff hunt last season and think we can do it again if Moore is our QB. No sense tanking at this stage. Put Moore in so we can enjoy the games, please.

I get the Moore sentiment. But he’s going to have the same issues Cutler is dealing with. Maybe he’ll play a little better. But if we can’t get Ajayi going and keep allowing pressure on every other pass play, sadly we’re going to see much of the same. I’m at a loss. I was not expecting the offense to be this bad.

    • D's avatar D says:

I really dont see Moore helping much. I think if anything it would be like the Dan Cambell effect. We might get a small boost just from a change in general, but it wouldnt last long. It may seem like doing nothing to not switch out QB’s but there can be things that happen that’s worse when you do and to be honest we arent out of things just yet.

Moore isnt going to carry us into the playoffs. I feel good about the fact that Moore could get us to 6-10, possibly 7-9, and maybe even 8-8, and 8-8 might be enough for a playoff spot for a year when most everyone is around 2-3 or 3-2 right now. I feel strongly though things are going to settle out and probably 7-9, 8-8 still wont get us there. Cutler has the chance if they can get him settled out of giving us more than Moore, but he also has the potential of giving us less. Its kind of a gamble i guess.

One thing i know for sure is that its not up to us, and it is up to Gase. Gase has shown no indications to even be thinking about a QB change, so i think use heralding one is just going to frustrate us.

Cav and Boulder i think both of you are correct, i think they both said it lol. They also probably had a few other guys chime in with that like, Darryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden, Cris Carter, Todd Marinovich, Michael Irvin, just from sports. Then there’s John Belushi, Whitney Houston, Ike Turner, etc. I bet ya there has been a time in each of their lives where they pulled that line lol.

I thought the defense was fantastic, and badass yesterday. I also thought the Tennessee offense looked an awful lot like ours. That team can run the ball, but we shut them down completely. The Lewan injury hurt them for sure, but hell, no one gives us a pass when our guys are hurt, so . . .

I agree and disagree at the same time if that makes any sense. I hear what you are saying that Moore is not the guy that can carry a team to the playoffs. An engaged Cutler probably is. The problem is Cutler doesn’t look engaged at all. He looks like he is running scared. Sometimes with good reason and other times without good reason. Moore at the end of last year played much better than what Cutler is playing now. We are only 2-2 and very much still in the hunt. Do we think Moore will give us a better chance to win? Based on the way Cutler is playing the last 3 weeks Moore gives us the better chance to win. It is only fair to the rest of the guys on the team to play the guy who gives you the best chance to win. At least until until the point when we don’t have a realistic shot at the playoffs then you play Doughty to see what he has

Harris IMO was player of the game, Timmons would have been my runner up. I mean Suh and Wake were great as well, but i am kinda keeping them out of the discussion just because of that, they just were their normal great. Timmons and Harris really took steps forward. I thought Tankersly and Howard held their own, some pretty good plays and a couple of times they could be seen to have given them a step, etc. Bobby McCain had a good game too. See Tim i can give credit, when i think its due lol.

    • What about Jones? 2 fumble recoveries, one for TD, and was flying all over the place!

Entire defense gets the game ball IMO
not perfect, but damn good overall performance!

      • D's avatar D says:

I guess i did with Jones what i was doing with Suh and Wake, i kinda expect that level of play out of him, but yes you were right, he played really well.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

LOL, I agree with David though – the entire defense. The defense has played well all season keeping our sputtering offense in games. They could be even better with some support.

The D played great but let’s not forget they were playing against Matt Cassel. I don’t think we get 6 sacks against Mariota
    ———————————
I dunno, we were playing well enough we might have. Mariota and his scrambling could have net’d more sacks in fact. Thier OL kept a decent pocket for Cassel and he stayed in it Mariota might have opted to scramble more, and i think that would have been to the detriment, just because we had people coming from all sides. I do think Mariota might have burned us a little more in the passing game, but their passing game, like ours, is completely dependent on getting the running game going and we shut it down.

Our D didn’t just play well against a inferior QB, which i do give ya that point, we just looked pretty good altogether. We held a team that was averaging almost 140 yards rushing a game, and held them to 69. It wasn’t like we were stacking the box either because i saw plenty of our LB’s off the line and in coverage. We had great pass rush out of Harris and Wake, and they were going against a pretty good OL.

    Stanger,

We are already playing the backup QB. Cutler was out of football and shouldn’t be considered a “starting QB”.

We’ve all seen plenty of Moore. He takes some risks, but they are usually throwing a 50/50 ball or trying to be too aggressive. He also makes big plays from being aggressive. He throws a great deep ball and we’ve seen none of that from Cutler. He inspires guys around him.

The only thing I’ve seen from Cutler is that he turtles up as soon as protection breaks down and his body language and willingness to run the offense disappear. Gase has admitted to shortening the playbook. We are predictable and lack any fire on offense. I don’t have any illusions of what Moore is capable of, but we are at close to rock bottom right now. It’s not going to improve much as long as Cutler is back there. Why not try something different?

  92. drg's avatar drg says:

    D,

I am a big proponent of tanking if you’re an NBA team. NFL? Not so much. Drafting a QB is such a crapshoot that it’s not really worth tanking a whole season and inviting all the bad things that go along with the tanking process.

I’d rather be able to enjoy the games and finish around .500 than be awful and not worth watching. I agree that the playoffs aren’t likely, but being in the hunt until the last couple weeks at least keeps it interesting.

    • D's avatar D says:

Im not suggesting tanking, even if it might seem like that, im saying why pick a guaranteed end of the season instead of gamble with someone who has been known to be down for 3-4 games and then spike up high for multiple ones too. Im saying gamble, but hedge your bets. He fails, we lose this season but we have a better chance to help the future, we fail with Moore, and we fail and thats pretty much it. I dont see either of these guys having a good potential to pull it out this year, but to me as much as Moore is more predictable, he’s more predictable in the fact he isnt going to make much of a difference. A fail of making the playoffs is the same at 8-8 as 3-13 or whatever else you want to put in there.

    —————————————–
Yeah that makes sense, and i agree with ya. I think its more predictable what Moore gets ya, and with the most recent performances of Cutler, you have to imagine that that might continue on for a little bit, possibly even the rest of the season. Its a quandary.

On one hand you got an almost guaranteed 6-10 to 8-8, and the other you might have anywhere from 2-14 to 10-6 (im not gonna get crazier than that with a best case prediction lol), which more leaning to the former than the latter.

I think im in the mindset right now that i wanna lay it on the line, roll the dice and if we come up short this year, so be it and we can get a draft pick that might turn into something to build around. We keep Tanny and give him a chance to show what he has left, we get a QB to build a future around before we start losing pieces to put around him, and we get evaluation of a potential replacement backup player in Doughty when things finally get out of reach, so even in losing, we are somewhat winning.

With Moore its going to be a roller coaster ride, up this week down the next and those kind of season just wear me out and they feel hollow at the end when we end up with nothing to show for the year and really no sort of draft position to make any significant changes.

  95. D's avatar D says:

I definitely dont see what im suggesting as tanking the season, just to be clear where my head is. I just see it as gambling with a better outcome for what likely is a failure on either side. We aren’t making the playoff with either of these guys right now and to me that’s the whole point. I don’t want a roller coaster 8-8, im either going to pay out gambling on Cutler to change and get us in the playoffs or im going to watch shit go south, suck it up and move forward.

    • D's avatar D says:

I honestly dont think Moore can get us to 8-8, either, i think thats absolute best case scenario. I think 6-10 is much more likely.

  96. Jahndoh30's avatar Jahndoh30 says:

I get the sentiment that we can’t get much worse at QB, but it’s 4 games with a new team, even if the offense is something he learned (a version of) before. He was not in a camp either. Our OL coach is doing lines before meetings and lets face it, doing a lousy job of coaching the OL up. If I were Gase, I’d give him at least 2 more games to turn the ship around before considering benching him for Moore.

Some factors I’d consider are above and:
What if you bench Cutler and play Moore, then Moore stinks it up? You go back to Cutler hat in hand? What happens if Moore gets hurt? Then you go back to cutler hat in hand?

I don’t have a lot of faith in Cutler’s ability to handle being benched, but I know that Moore can handle being on the bench all season and still willing to come in and give us his best effort to win games.

I know it looks bad right now, but we were 1-4 after 5 weeks last year. Gase fired some people and turned it around. It can happen again, and the OL coach is the first salvo, even if he brought it on himself (what an incredible imbecile!)…

Also, I miss Tannehill more then ever. Hope we can get a full season from him next year.

  98. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I’ve seen enough of Cutler. I think he’s one of many offensive players that are playing poorly, but changing the QB can be the 1 position that can really change the O….unfortunately good or bad! I’d go with Moore right now….maybe after next game at the latest if Cutler looks scared and uninterested again. I think Moore is better than a lot here seem to think. Is he gonna save our season? I doubt it, but I think guys trust him…and play hard for him. But, I doubt Gase does it. He has hung his hat on being a “QB guru”. Benching Cutler now hurts his reputation more than anybody else’s, and it’s already taking a hit with his OL coach doing lines in his office down the hall….right before a meeting no less, but NOBODY knew he was getting high? Yeah right. Lol
