The Dolphins running back picture is pretty clear as far as the 3 that will definitely make the roster, but not so clear as far as which back will start, and which back will get the lion’s share of carries. Future HOFer Frank Gore has come back home to Miami, and if healthy can still carry the rock to join one of the best RB’s in the NFL the last 4 games of last season Kenyan Drake, as well as rookie draftee Kalen Ballage. Those 3 are in, but one of the other remaining 3, Senorise Perry, Brandon Radcliffe and Buddy Howell. Those 3 will be competing for the final RB roster spot, and at least one of the others should get placed on the PS. So let’s take a look at the competition.
Frank Gore RB – 5’9″ 212
A no doubt future Hall of fame RB, Gore has amassed over 14,000 yards rushing in the NFL as well as 77 rushing TD’s. I don’t expect him to crack 15,000 this season, but he can easily get halfway to 1000 in a RB committee approach I expect us to have here in MIA in ’18. Not only can Gore run, but he’s been an effective receiver his entire career as well. Gore has 443 receptions for 3672 yards and 17 receiving TD’s. Gore has done it all, and for a guy who had 2 knee injuries in college, he has been a picture of longevity with over 3000 NFL carries. He may start early on, and might even get the majority of carries too, but Gase won’t let anyone get burnt out, so don’t expect Gore to have enough carries to break 1000 this season. Gore is a bowling ball, and has always been a reliable short yardage converter, and I would expect him to get his chances in that regard.
________________________________________________
Kenyan Drake RB – 6’1″ 211
Drake really burst on the scene after the trade of Jay Ajayi. Although Drake shared time with Damien Williams at first, it became clear that Drake was the better talent and he earned more carries and opportunities. Considering the fact that Drake was always a 2nd fiddle at Alabama, behind either T.J. Yeldon, or Derrick Henry, it’s understandable why he wasn’t the first choice over Ajayi or even Damien Williams. The talent was always there, but various minor injuries kept him from being the primary ballcarrier. Once he got his chance here in Miami, Drake made the most of it. With just 6 starts, Drake finished up the season with 644 yards rushing on 133 carries for a nice 4.8YPC and 3 TD’s. In addition, Drake caught 32 passes for 239 yards and 1 TD. Drake showed running power as well as home run speed. Both Gore and Drake will get the majority of the carries, but don’t sleep on number 3!
________________________________________________
Kalen Ballage RB – 6’2″ 228
The Dolphins nabbed this big back in the 4th RD of this years draft and I for one was really happy. I read about all the backs, and there were things I liked a lot about a few of them, but those guys were going to be taken in the first couple of rounds, which i knew was unrealistic for us. I think we took a back at the right time with our priorities, and Ballage was one of my favorite mid RD picks. Oft compared to David Johnson, he has the size and physique of Johnson, as well as the speed and the receiving ability. Ballage blasted a 4.46 at the combine, so this big guy can move. He has a lot of work to do to get to being compared with David Johnson statistically in the NFL, but I think he has potential. The fact that he’s a very smooth receiver out of the backfield will endear him to Gase who truly values that. Ballage will definitely find opportunities here in Miami.
_______________________________________________
Senorise Perry RB – 6’0″ 210
Perry has been in the NFL since 2014 and has total of 8 carries in 4 years. What Perry does well is play special teams, so already he has a leg up on making the roster. Perry is also a kick returner adding to his special teams value. He played in all 16 games last season in a special teams capacity. Beyond that, he’s not much of a factor.
_______________________________________________
Brandon Radcliff RB – 5’9″ 216
Like Senorise Perry, Radcliff played at Louisville. The UDFA joins Miami and a crowded backfield. He was a 3 year starter at Louisville but was a non combine invitee. He did well at his pro day unofficially running between a 4.4-4.5 at 207 lbs, roughly 8-9 lbs lighter than his playing weight at 215-216. Radcliff will have to show some special teams ability if he’s going to steal that last spot, and if he can make the most of his carries in training camp and preseason, he has a shot st steal the last spot.
_______________________________________________
Buddy Howell RB – 6’1″ 215
Greg (Buddy) Howell is another non combine invitee. Mr. Howell ran a 4.55 40 at his pro day, apparently he saw Lovey at the finish line. Usually players shed weight for their pro day’s, but Howell was up a few pounds, up to 219. Howell had a decent workload at FAU, rushing for 828 yards and 13 TD’s his junior year. His numbers fell off a bit his senior year, but not bad. Like Perry and Radcliff, Howell will have to show he can play ST’s and do it well to sneak onto the roster.

The fact that this conversation was born out of yesterday’s stuff makes me feel better about putting everyone through it. Well done guys.
lol, and the page turn is mine
Been wondering about how/when the page turn comes about??
Doesn’t seem to come at some set number,
Seems to come randomly??
What designates the page turn, nothing imparticular??
I often don’t realize a page turn took place (in mid conversation), and I’m like where’d everybody go…
Kinda learning to look for that “”newer comments”” thing, so there.. LOL 😝
We are just having a little fun you big ape 🦍 lol

I guess RobKong don’t like that. They were throwing those plays out of their stats for some reason.

No pun intended I’m sure Ken 😉

13kv,
I’m not sure, but my guess about the page turn is that it comes after a certain amount of content. So it could turn after 250 posts if all the posts are one paragraph, or it could be 125 posts if they are all two paragraphs.
Please break that down in a more detailed statistical manner please? 😉
Should we only count posts of 50 words or less? That way D’s posts or game stat posts don’t throw off the numbers.
Also lol posts leave us in a poor position due to frequency and brevity, so the standard should be 3+ word posts. Yah?
I’ll do an random selection of 18 comment sections over the last year to get an accurate assessment. It’ll take me about two days to come back with the numbers. (Stanger, my data will be reflected in 2 massive posts, sorry…..)
Let’s get started! 🙂
Ohh Kong, so it’s not actually done by anybody, it’s automatic???
When you said “”page turn is mine””, I figured you clicked some sorta page turn button…
So is a page turn credit equal to first comment credit?? LOL 😜
It’s a volume thing I’m sure.
LOL, that would be hilarious if it worked like that.
It would be fun until….
“OK, everybody. We’ve had 94 page turns on this article. Can we all agree to not use the page turn function until at least 100 or so posts?”
Thought you might be one of the admins Kong..
I thought maybe an administrator pulled the plug whenever things got ugly, or someone said something stupid…
But then the saying something stupid thing might lead to even more than 94 page turns…
Surely I jest Gentleman & Mrs Herd/other Ladies that I’m not aware of!!!
Page turn worthy??
LOL !!! 😁
I wish there were more replies allowed so the paragraph sentences were only 3 words, that way D’s posts could dig to the center of the earth. LOL

Gotcha, 13KV. Not an admin, just a big, dirty ape. 🙂
Rock – Maybe it’s a character count, and lord knows we have a lot of characters here.
LOL on characters. Last thing I am is an internet expert, but I think it is a data load thing.
The way it works is:

Sounds like a formula for determining if a person will fly off when performing a sit and spin.

Kong when you say girth in the equation above do you mean circumference or width? I want to make sure I am doing the math correctly
That is per attemp not per completion by the way
11.16 per completion
Your not talking about the ESPN per attempt stat are you? 😉
Some people doubted that when I posted this upward trend.
But what Wyoming posted was a PFF stat, showing PROGRESS with Tannehill! How DARE anyone post a PFF stat! 😉
It’s an official NFL stat. PFF has no control over a fact stat. Passing yards divided by attempts – 2,995 divided by 389 = 7.7 🙂

Very funny Pig. I winced after I hit post and read what I wrote. That was an easy hanging floater over the plate for you. I’m actually a little disappointed that you took a swing at it being it was so obvious. 😉
and what I wrote was actually worse that you called me out on. I didn’t write “rotate the hottest guys in.” To my embarrassment I wrote “rotate the hottest guys in and out” which has worse connotations!
I have quit smoking before. I have gone without for 6 years at one stretch and for 4-6 months at other stretches. Hopefully this time it sticks. It is the hardest thing I have ever done. Keep in mind that I was / am addicted to cocaine and opioids too but haven’t touch either of those since 1991.
Good luck man. Definitely not easy. Coke is the real thing, very hard to quit.
You don’t want Lung Cancer so if i were you i would stay quit, I quit all that shit years ago
I don’t drink either.
my only vice is coffee in the morning.
people get addicted to drugs because they think it makes them feel better but what i cant figure out is; what does smoking cigarettes do for someone???
Loved the way he was playing the 2nd half, but he needs to do that consistently.
Sit and rotate!
what does smoking cigarettes do for someone?
Nicotine crosses the blood barrier in your brain instantly. It releases endorphins into your system to create the sensation of pleasure the same way food or sex does. The endorphins are released immediately after you take a drag so a smoker is able to get “instant gratification” whenever they like.
Really??? so cigarettes do get you high….i didn’t know that?
Cigarettes are also a depressant. That’s the problem with them. They have about, I think, 4000 different chemicals and about 400 toxins. You can get a buzz off them but it’s minimal and you can get the same affect by going for a walk.
***
I smoke an occasional cigar when I golf….chewed for a couple years. Not worth the negative effects. But, it’s extremely psychologically addictive, so people struggle to quit. My daughter just started “hitting”, as she calls it, one of those nicotine sticks. I’m not very happy, and she does it because she thinks it’s cool. Jesus, some things never change!
have you seen those people who hit that vapor shit? i was ready to call the fire dept! i had never seen so much smoke come from a smoker!
Back to RB issues, as the stats showed regardless of what Ajayi did, and for the record i don’t like or care about Ajayi i simply use him as a standard candle.
Drake is not an every down btwn the tackles RB, leaving us with 8.1 yards to go on 2nd down on an avg is not good, neither was Ajayis 7.7 in 2017, we need that number to be below 7 to win.
I do believe Gore can do that and has done that in the past. he may have done it last year with a shitty Colts team.
this is my hope for this team, if anyone thinks Gase is going to have a magical passing offense, Tannehill is going to throw for 5000 yards, you better slow down on your expectations.
It could happen but for that to happen the foundation has to be set with a power running game. and Drake isn’t that guy.
when you build a home you start at the foundation not the roof.
Home tell you that? 🙂
Lol
what a shitty thing to say?
Let’s see what did I miss last night. Randy smokes an occasional cigar, Rock quit smoking, because he was getting too high, and he has an in/out rotating fantasy, Orob (auto-corrected to Prob, there I fixed it) wants to talk about RBs (go figure). 😁
“But as core players like Ajayi, Jarvis Landry and Ndamukong Suh have been moved”…that’s all the national writers seem to care about. But heck they have to write something about each team. We might not be as football smart as them, but we least know more about the Phins. And that comes from a guy who thought at times when we were the darling with a bullet that it was not deserved…..and that seems to happen when when we make splashes in FA, like Suh or Wallace. Full circle back to first point.
M13 will love to see this, lol.
Rob – I was just asking because I wanted to know if what you said was right or not.
a lot of good people here, for their sake I sure hope Miami does good this year, i’m tired of just wasting years being mediocre or worse.
The NFL is designed to have parity and different winners every year to keep fans interested, well it just hasn’t worked out for Miami.
I have high hopes for Gase and co, I like the moves they have made.
we shall see
Think this year is a not a rebuild, but a re-set one. Do like that they are doing that though. I know a lot of guys go that wins and losses are who your team is, but hate teams that max out just for that like when a coach is trying to save his job for the next year instead of building a team that will actually have a chance at the ring down the road.
I actually started chewing on a Spring Break roadtrip to Ft Lauderdale in 1985. My buddies said it would help me stay awake on the drive. It did, and I enjoyed it. Nasty habit though.
Guys I play ball with still chew. It is pretty nasty, especially when they spit.
I chewed for about 2 years. They had just started banning smoking in pool halls so I switched to chewing. Once I decided to quit, I actually had a harder time with chew than with cigarettes. It is a nasty habit.
Caught a History channel thing on Seal snipers and one guy’s response to the worst mistake you can make when in position was “getting mixed up which ones your water, piss and chew spit bottles are……one bad move can ruin your day.”
Last thing should do is tell all you great guys who keep this blog going, while have never wrote a top page piece, how to do it, but something like this for our place would be cool. And not the “introduce yourself” more like an “About” button that would at least warn folks what they are in for with this crazy crew, that your first comment will need to be approved and check back after, etc. Could include some history too.

They do not get you high they just tap the pleasure center in your brain similarly to eating chocolate or other pleasurable activities And you can do it on demand so you become addicted to being able to raise your endorphin levels on demand
Lol @ wyoming. Now I gotta find my DVD of “The Jerk” and watch it again.
That is what it boils down to fundamentally.
I believe Drake is the man and so does the team to sit back and enjoy as you were proven wrong this season
For me, it’s always about getting good players. Now, what’s a “good” player? People can have differing opinions on that, but physical ability and talent are right up there….maybe #1 for me….maybe quick intellect for a QB. I think the team has done a fantastic job of convincing their fan base that we got rid of guys who weren’t really “good” players because of stuff other than their talent on the field. Good for them, but I’m not buying it. I don’t really have a problem with any of their moves. I do have a problem with not finding ways to keep and coach your best talent….and then getting very scant compensation….regardless of why it happened. It’s on them. They made the moves to get or retain the players, so they get the heat.
***
Suh and Landry are gone for financial reasons….that’s fine…but they were our two best players….and we got little out of those assets. I never have a problem letting a RB go because unless they’re really good they are replaceable. But, Ajayi was coming off a great year, and we got little. That sucks on a couple levels. Don’t try to make me feel better about it by castigating the players. Here’s an idea….figure out a way to coach them. Other coaches have.
****
I have no doubt there was stuff on both sides of the argument but welcome to coaching in the 21 century! It sucks, but it’s their reality. Players run the show because they expect to be treated like pansy ass prima donnas….and are! Lol
No one believes Suh nd Landry weren’t good players, what we believe is you can’t pay Suh the kind of money we were and some of the things he did was detrimental to the team. Same with Landry, you can’t pay him $15M.
I also believe the change of philosophy of using a rotation on the DL will benefit us and make losing Suh inconsequential. How many times did our D look good, then give up a first down and wilt, because they were tired after being on the field too long.
Landry’s use last year really pissed me off, with all the short stuff, so a change in personell I hope helps the O move the ball more consistently.
It’s that definition of insanity that we’re changing (doing same thing expecting different result) that’s one reason for my hype, another is I like the depth and direction.
Randy – If we “got little” out of them, why will they be missed?

I remember Miami bringing in a lot of talent in the early 90s, in the preseason we were slated to go to the superbowl, and i’m not sure but i don’t think we made the playoffs.
so maxing out and bringing in high priced FA’s may not work to well,
I believe the NFL talent level is more or less equal, I don’t think over the past 10 years the Pats had way better Talent than we did,
it’s all between the ears, their coaches and schemes are smarter than ours, that’s the difference in winning and losing.
MikeE,
I meant trade value in return for them. Sorry, maybe I said that weird.
We cut Suh, so nothing there, and we got a 4th RD pick for Landry, which turned into Kalen Ballage. Ajayi turned into Durham Smythe, so we’ll see what we get out of those 2.
Actually it was vice-versa with the 2 draft picks, but still, those are the 2 players we netted.
I don’t think losing Landry and Suh was a big deal, they were both problem children. Landry was way to slow to warrant the kind of $$ he got, Suh was always free lancing, he may be great but to a degree un-coachable.
as for losing Ajayi, that hurt the 2017 Dolphins, we got a 4th for him that turned into Ballage, not sure what he brings to the table but getting Gore may have rectified the Ajayi loss if he has something left in the tank.
i think they are wanting guys to buy into their scheme and do like they are told, not sure Suh filled that category. we got a lot faster with our WR’s.
looking at all the moves i cant see how we are slated to win only 6 games?
Several of us have the same opinion, Randy calls it the team is selling us this idea.
I count 7 of 12 playoff teams that had a 1000 yard rusher in o17
The SB Champs ain’t one of’em,
and they advanced through the entire playoffs/SB
as the underdog of every game with their backup QB!!!
1 K. Hunt, RB KC 1327
2 T. Gurley II, RB LAR 1305
3 L. Bell, RB PIT 1291
4 L. McCoy, RB BUF 1138
5 M. Ingram, RB NO 1124
6 J. Howard, RB CHI 1122
7 M. Gordon, RB LAC 1105
8 L. Fournette, RB JAX 1040
9 C. Anderson, RB DEN 1007
10 E. Elliott, RB DAL 983
11 A. Collins, RB BAL 973
12 F. Gore, RB IND 961
Guess’Ya can envision the Ravens Collins plus 28 yards as (a 8th) of 12
Ya see Gore there at 961 (for the Colts/minus Luck)
I’d imagine that if Drake could get the 600 plus in less than half a season as starter,
that he’d easily near if not top the 1000 yard mark with a full season starting..
Colts didn’t have much of an OL, and I believe that we now do (finally),
So Gore is also more than likely capable of being Frank Gore (even at 35/whatever)..
I think that whoever gets the most carries (starter or not) will easily eclipse 1000,
And the other will get at least what KD had in o17, (possibly even 750 or so)…
Especially if (unlike Indy or SB Champs),
Miami’s starting QB tosses the ball around for 16PLUS games!!!
o17 playoff teams
Pats
Bills
Steelers
Ravens
Titans
Chargers
Eagles
Rams
Seahawks
Vikings
Saints
Panthers
Falcons
Eagles, Vikings, pats, Jags
Conference championship contenders included just ONE 1000 yard rusher..
Jags/Fournette who had the Pats whipped
until becoming conservative/running the ball & clock for the loss!!!
Philly said F THAT, we’re gonna beat you at your own game
And we’re gonna do it with our backup QB
(even though we got a b/t the tackles RB/can’t recall the name)!!!
GOFINS!!!
Opps, one of those bottom NFC teams didn’t get in (typo)
Thanks didn’t get in
Stupid F’ing spell check
SEAHAWKS didn’t get in
Vikings, Falcons, pats had 800 some yard rushers
Eagles leading rusher Blount had 766
Blount as the large majority of the season starter had 122 more yards than less than half a season starter Drake!!
The power b/t the T’s Brit who became the two in Philly at the same time that Drake became the two in Miami, (had fewer yards than KD for the season)!!!
GOFINS!!!
Rob,
The Pats had a significant talent bonus at the most important spot on the field in Brady. That makes a huge difference in today’s NFL. Plus, they also had HOF talent at TE. They had Wilfork, Bruschi, Matt Light, Mankins, Troy Brown, Ty Law, Randy Moss…..they’ve had some pretty good players. The only HOF talent we’ve had is Suh. Maybe Wake….we’ll see.
IMO The mirage of GOAT talent comes from winning, how well did Moss do in Oakland? they are all just players who played for a coach and a system that was smart, that’s why they get a lot for their players and their players turn out to be mediocre at best on other teams for instance Matt Cassell
All talent in the NFL is similar, sure there are some 1st round busts, and some late round greats but when you put 53 guys on a team as per the NFL draft & FAcy rules.
it’s all similar, what separates the good teams from the bad teams is scheme & execution and that comes from coaching.
Again there’s more than one way to skin a cat.
Rob,
Okay. We will disagree. We can’t have another 3 month debate around here! I think I’m gonna go for a ride now that the sun has come out. Later. 😊
I’m going to chase a little white ball around a big field, see ya later

I count 7 of 12 playoff teams that had a 1000 yard rusher in o17
The SB Champs ain’t one of’em
_________________________________________
IMHO having a 1000 yard RB is mis-leading, i don’t think gaining a 1000 yards is critical in winning, i’d rather have a reliable RB that put’s me in 2nd and 4 or 6 yards to go on 1st down, this is how you win, you keep the D guessing, see jacksonville Jags
Carry the ball 250 times for 1000 puts you at 2ND & 6 (on average)!!
Drake had 133 for 644
Power/between the T’s Blount had 176 for 766
43 more carries for 122 yards, (less than 3 yard average)!!!
GOFINS!!!
If Drake had a full season he would have went over 1000, but yet he avg’d 2nd and 8.1 Yds to go for a 1st, ………………………mis leading
Yea that first down average must be “”misleading””
Cuz he must have quadrupled-plus that on 2ND/3rd downs…
4.84 average X 3 plays = 14.52 yards per 3 attempts (on average)
GOFINS,
X’s all 3 RB’s!!!
Well it’s a fact, ask Kong he calculated the numbers
Shoot 4.84 X 2 = 9.68,
Throw in the first down KD avg,
And’Ya got the first down..
If a team/guy were to run it (@average)
60 plus times per game…
Of course that ain’t gonna happen!!!
So it’s all about the right circumstance at the right time with the right play and all 11 doing there job toward first down progress at said moments of first down pursuits!!!
GOFINS!!!
When you have 2nd and long it makes you predictable, D’s know you have to pass and they play deeper making it tougher for you to pass. the odds are against you in that down and long distance, when the odds catch up to you ; you fall behind and have no choice but to pass, a recipe for losing.
look at the number of runs Miami had over the last two years, you will find that 16 games we ran the ball more than 20 times and won all 16… 16 games we didn’t ….we lost all 16.
I believe Miami is aware of this and that may be the reason they brought Gore in the fold, at least that’s my hope.
you have to pick up the tough yards early to keep Ds honest…otherwise they will pin their ears back and come after you.
Rob, clean up the OL and you don’t get put in those 2nd and longs too often, or you do what the Cheats do and pick up 1st downs after being put in 1st or 2nd and long, because no matter what you’re always going to have to deal with them.
Randy, What about Rob Ninkovich? i believe we cut him, Belichick picked him up and made him a star!
All of us were shocked when we cut him, because he played so well during the preseason. Sometimes teams dont have room and sometines they just fuck it up, the FO Fd that one up.
That was a long time ago and the Saints picked him up and released him before NE got him. Ninkovich was a solid player but not a star.
The same with Wes Welker
No not the same. Welker was signed to a 2nd rd tender as a RFA and the Pats offered him a contract with a poison pill in it stating if Welker plays in x amount of games in Florida the entire contract is guaranteed. The NFL stepped in and the Pats ended up giving up an additional 7th rd pick. That was in 2007, Welker wasn’t going to be the productive player with us that he was with the Pats anyway, we went 1-15 and the Pats lost the SB to the Giants.
Miami hasn’t had a RB that gives you your 2nd and 6 or 2nd and 4 since Ricky.
Dallas did it in 2016, but otherwise ice only seen Blount do it on a regular basis and even then he’s been cut and cut, that tells me it isn’t that important in today’s game. I don’t agree with this, but seems like most teams do.
Before the 2016 season I was pining for exactly the same back that Orob wants, but after seeing Drake’s explosiveness I’m not going back.
well they do now…his name is Frank Gore
I think in 2017 Gore avgd 6.4 yards to go on 2nd down, that’s Great!
But you still have to score and you need explosive plays, so you don’t have to get 4+ 10 play drives per game.
Not sure your intentions, but you come across like your way is the only way.
Like every year I’ll hope for the best with our team and root them on. Sports is suppose to be fun, not aggravating. LOL
What did Phelophish do to Casa

Truth be told, I’m not happy to see Tannenbaum rated as one of the worst GMs in the league. I’d rather our Phins be successful with me being wrong, than our Phins be unsuccessful with me being right. All I can say is that I’m not surprised Tannenbaum is rated so low.
Now if we have a successful 2018 season, I think Tannenbaum gets and deserves new life for righting his wrongs. If not… I think he’ll be shown the door before Gase.
But you did make me chuckle, CavKong! Cheers! 🙂
Yet he doesn’t hold the title of GM. 😉
Okay, I must have missed something because this is all cryptic to me.
Don’t you still have you’re decoder ring from when my writing gave you/everyone a headache?? 😝
You’re = Your and you’d know that with decoder ring
LOL
KV – That is some funny shit. That Homey is talking about us (and me in particular), since it has not only been years, I’ve never been a prolific poster. Poor Homes. Dude has issues that we can’t help with.
“”Particular”” you’re not Phelo, the rounds have been made toward many, you’re just the most recent…
Who is this poor “”Walker”” fellow??
Kinda remember the name, but not his style…
Even the N word had been tossed around with all targeted,
Sorta light hearted, “”see you N’s @ so & so”” but still..
I never in my life have used that word,
and I’ve spent moments in time with the worst of the worst
of all races!!!
Apparently “”a blue eyed angel”” watches over this one..
As “”the mob crew walked in the bar, there’s no man like Casa went to bathroom to freshen up for grand entry/introduction to the crew, while in bathroom his woman took a spill that involved blood/emergency exit””
Hence;
“””A blue eyed angel watches over this one”””,
And/or whoever was part of that mob crew that walked in the bar..
Who knows maybe you’d all be great buddies,
If not for one woman’s misfortune?? 😏
Only replied/continued topic so that you wouldn’t feel alone as a target!!
While I know for a fact there’s a double agent out there, I just don’t give a F – – -, I’m about done being extra nice to the irrational, bitter, narcissistic types, and I’m smiling through the entirety as I will be even moreso when I start dishing out ones own medicine 😁
Got’em booted from Tins,

QUITE true, Tim! That would be Chris Grier… who IMO, doesn’t get enough credit for what he’s done to draft some very stellar talent to our Phins, ever since Dennis Hickey was replaced.
Nevertheless… it’s Tannenbaum who will take any and all credit from Grier, being HE’S the ‘Big Cheese’ (as opposed to the ‘BIG TUNA’). Yeah, it’s a two-way street with Tannenbaum, as he’s the one who calls the FA shots (not Grier).
Now if this upcoming season pans out, ALL WILL BE GRAND!
I don’t really care what they think about anything Fins. The players we’ve drafted since Ireland brain farted his last year has been the best since Shula’s early years.
U just like to bash them for the idiots they are.
There are TIMES when I get into a so-called ‘bashing mode’.
I think Tannenbaum’s collective/career record speaks for itself, I go back and forth on Steve Ross, I RARELY mention Chris Grier by name and in a negative fashion, and I really want to think that Gase has it right.
Right now, I’m riding the HOMER-ADE! I’m honestly feeling it right now!
But if we start 0-3, ALL BETS ARE OFF on how I’ll respond! 🙂
Even LeBron, Wade, and that tall goofy looking…took time to gel. As long as I see what it might become I may be Ok with 0-3, disappointed for sure, but RT, Stills, and Parker have been together long enough that I don’t see it happening.
They say over and over it’s a collaboration between all 3 of them but nobody wants to believe it. Let them do their rankings, they don’t matter anyway.
2 things…
1) If it’s a collaboration between all 3 of them, we’re only as strong as the weakest link.
2) SCREW the media’s rankings!!! 🙂

LOL!!!
After you took out the first downs he ran for on first down!!!!!!
Come in man talk about made up stats
he cannot carry this team and we will lose, he needs to be put in situations that are beneficial to his skill set.
Gore is the one who needs to carry this team or it will be over quickly
Reply
Blah blah blah we would ll see and you will be stubborn and change the naratie
From the surface it seems as if Tannenbaum and Grier have done an excellent job in obtaining good young talent and getting rid of contracts that hamstring the organization. ….oh and is credit given to T-Baum for adjusting his previous style? For me… Yes!
It seems that happened when Grier was promoted to GM. We signed Suh when Hickey was still here and it was T-Baum’s first season as VP. Since then we haven’t signed any FAs to monster deals.
Exactly, Tim, I think they learned their lesson.
The way Grier talked since he became GM was they wanted to build and supplement the roster through the draft, then use FA for here and there and not being big spenders. Hopefully they hit on these 3 classes and we’re good again, for awhile. 🙂
From what I’ve heard and read, Grier oversees the scouting dept. and they put all the grades on the prospects setting up the board. I’m sure T-Baum gets involved in the why. I know then Gase spends a few weeks watching film on the prospects, probably most of the higher round guys, I doubt he watches 7 rounds worth. Then on draft day they discuss who to take when they’re up.
I think so far this trio has done a good job in 3 seasons. It’s time for some of those 2nd and 3rd year guys to take the next step though.
Just so that ya realize that we’ve gone 22-26 over their 3-year span together.
I don’t want to make/hear excuses… such as, ‘well, we lost Tannehill for all of ’17’. EVERY team suffers losses: it’s a part of the GAME… HAVE DEPTH.
One IS what their record states… NO EXCUSES. This is a business, and it seems that nearly every player realizes as much… but why not management?
16-16, we haven’t played the 3rd season yet. I’m talking 3 offseasons so far.
Knight;
Top of my head I count
10 drafted starters for o18
And that’s excluding eventual starter Harris
And
6 FA starters
16 or so total starters
Via present goin into third year brass trio!!!
Remaining past regime starters include 10 in
Denney
QWake
Jones
THill
James
BMc
Stills ? exact yr
Kiko ? yr
Phillips ? yr
DParker ? yr
=26 starters, (couldn’t conclusively decide upon Draftee KD or FA FG)
Hence one too many starters..
Off the top of my head..
Well, with recollection of my last piece still implanted in memory banks..
I’d suggest that this brass trio is doing EXCELLENT,
And that soon enough (1-2 yrs) they will have gathered
exactly what they want, everywhere they want
Top to bottom 1 – 53 (if not 65)!!!
If we’re STUPID ENOUGH to Fire’Em before year 5-6 (@minimum)??
The process begins all over again from scratch
till the 5-6 years later (@ minimum) that it takes
to accumulate everyone you want, everywhere you want!!!
Personally, F – – – the 5 – 6 year minimum,
No matter what, I’m staying with Gase & Company
Until & Beyond them getting it right/SB Trophy,
Or until death do I part !!!
PRODUCTIVE, PROGRESSIVE, COHESIVE, CONTINUITY BREEDS JUST THAT, TOP TO BOTTOM!!!
GOFINS!!!
