We have an awful lot of time between now and the start of the season, and considering we haven’t seen anything in the way of actual football activities, why not come up with a possible depth chart with nothing to go on? We spend hours upon hours on potential draft picks, so now that we have some players on the roster, might as well throw them on a depth chart for fun! This is how I believe we may start the season, it’s understood more players will be added and subtracted by then . . .

Lots of things can change from now until the start of the season, but you have to start somewhere. Feel free to pick it apart, this is what I see as possible for now. It gives us something else to talk about at the very least

The only way to take down the cheats is for the rest of the division as a whole to get better. With 3 of the top QBs in last years draft now in their 2nd season, the process has started.

i think the tariffs trump put on china will force them to make a trade deal with the US
You do understand that these are taxes on the American people and not on China right? China DOES NOT pay the tarriffs. You, me and the rest of the American people pay them. Not a dime of it is coming out of China’s pocket.
Don’t listen to Trumps newest lies that China is paying. Just like Mexico paying for the damn wall. They are not. Americans are paying it as an additional tax.
So you love the trade deficit we have with China?
Please take me off your replies. 🙂
there is some sort of scale not sure how it works but it is said that americans will pay 4 out of 25, china pays 21, and americans can buy from non tariff countries or buy US made and avoid that tariffs all together. so buy american to boost our economy.
so it’s not true that the consumer will bare all the cost,
china will have to compete just like Rosen and Fitz.
if your a company producing goods in china and you are hit with these tariffs you would consider moving your company out of china to a non tariff country, china doesn’t want to lose these companies and that may force their hand.
this is true. It MAY force their hands.
Just buy America’s junky ass plastic shit!
Instead of China’s junky ass plastic shit!
Simple! 😉
Steve,
After the way you guys got screwed in game 7, I’m not surprised. Welcome aboard the which team will lose to the Bruins championship, lol.
Your half right Rock
China will pay the tariff up front.
Then if consumers want the product, they will get reimbursed for it
Those who don’t buy the product will not pay it!
NO Wyomning, I purchase all kinds of manufactured goods. Almost NONE of which are manufactured in the US. China pays 0% of tarriffs. The companies who import the goods to the US pay the tax and pass it through to the end purchasers.
You still make the choice?
And I didn’t want to get too long winded, so I rolled up manufacturers into a wad to be called China.
But I know you got he drift?
I am so disappointed. This is NOT what I thought Boba Fett looked like under his helmet!
Well some things rolled down from NE

This is a lie. There is no “formula” this is pure disinformation put out by a liar.
Tarriffs are 100% paid by the consumer. NO ONE else pays them. They are passed through to the end buyer and the cost is carried by the American public not the Chinese in any way.
Yes, consumers can choose to purchase goods from other countries or buy American, which I support but the increase in prices WILL slow down the US economy.
This is a penalty tax on AMERICANS to punish us for buying from the Chinese and enjoying cheep consumer goods.

This is a stupid, leading question. It is like saying if you support gay rights you like taking cock up the ass. They are two separate things. You can dislike the trade deficit while still not liking having to pay 35% added tax on items.
Rock,
You left a high hanging fastball that is just too easy.:)
Not all who support gay rights take a dick in the ass, some also munch carpet, and others are chicks with dicks. These are established facts.

Tarriffs affect the exporting country, as they have to pay more to have their good sold in this country. Now business’ dont normally eat costs like they they roll it over to the cost of their products, so it will cause the cost of Chinese products to go up, but that in turn will get the consumers to switch to buying other products. It will affect them, it wouldn’t be used as a negotiation pawn if it wasn’t effective. I get what you are saying Rock, but Trump isnt wrong on this one, it will hit the Chinese producers hard, its just not quite as straight forward in how it will affect them.
He’s 100% wrong
They aren’t sharing the costs of the tariffs with us bc they pay costs too – the tariffs are actually paid by the US
It’s completely misleading to state bc China will have additional costs that we don’t have the same costs
If you pay 20k for a car
And the dealer pays an additional 5k for his owns costs
You still paid 20k
Is a serious misreprrsantion to say otherwise
China is sharing the costs of the tariffs
They have their own
This sort of logic lessensing the actual costs is exactly why Trump repeatedly files for bankruptcy
Rock – You appear to be about as unhinged regarding the President as our resident unhinged one. And group texts – you are definitely unhinged about those. Tariffs work, which is why the world uses them. The consumer will not bear the entire cost of any given tariff. Some for sure. How much that is will be set by what the market will bear. Try to pass along too much and your competitors will undercut you. More likely is that tariffs will drive some manufacturing back to the U.S. as they have already done. China has been given too many advantages, like their decades old status as an emerging economy, for too long because of fear of tariffs. Don’t worry tho…you will still be able to buy cheap Chinese shit made in Africa for awhile.
Oh we could have an interesting convo about this at the Fest. And yes tariffs promote domestic manufacturing, but with a cost to both those who buy the products and to lessening jobs for our exporters who get hit by the reciprocal tariffs. Our farmers not real happy these days cause they make like five times more than the country eats and has to get their stuff on boats.
Well at the fest we’ll gather some brews and solve the world’s problems. Tariffs are a complex issue. To complex to be discussed casually on a football blog.
Always a trade off. Tariffs are meant to be painful for all so that they’re not used without thought of consequence. Always a question of whose pain point is highest and who they will hurt the most, the fastest.
It’s painful to some people livelihoods
The people who bear the brunt of it, won’t get those losses back if – and that’s a huge if, it works
American people are in the line of fire on this
Complex it is. Just having a problem with the “trade wars are easy to win” thing. Knew that part wrong from the start.
The whole thing is predicated on misrepresentations starting with that one
Don’t worry – If it doesn’t work, he’ll just blame some one else
Phel, explain how this tariff is helping us
its cost the world markets 1 Trillion dollars so far, and AMerican farmers that voted for Trump are begging it to stop, they wont be able to farm profitably
You like to eat? i do, and when we eat, we are supporting AMerican farmers right? what do we eat if the farmers go out of business?
smoot howley tariffs did NOT work, it made America starve, great depression was made far worse by it
Tariffs, do NOT work, never have, never will
this isnt even a tariff anyway, he lied, its an American tax hike
China isnt forced to do a damn thing, it is pure fantasy to think an american tax hike effects them or forces them to relent
Beijing is sitting on trillions of cash, they dont have to do crap
USA is trillions in debt . we are the ones that have to fold, our farmers are dying off
this isnt how to fix the trade deficit, its how to ruin America economy
this is a hike on US consumers and busineses
when a AMerican buisness buys raw materials from China for their buisness in AMerica
, they have to pay the tariff right then and there, a seperate payment to DHS
the AMerican business has to eat the cost, or pass some or all along to the consumers
Larry Kudlow, Trumps economical advisor says tariffs are not paid by CHina. he is right
farmers that voted forTrump are now begging for him to stop this crap, its driving them out of business. he wont even represent the ones that voted for him, SMH
Trump is lying about the tariffs being paid by China, if that were true the stock market would be booming
We need a way to hold him accountable to all the damages to hard working Americans, we dont deserve this shit. he wont even listen to people he hired, like his economic advisor in this case
trade deficit with China? yea thats all fixed now, SMH
this wont fix it, it will put us in yet another republican recession, while trump is telling everyone how happy he is that China is paying tariffs,
Beijing has to be laughing at us, we have to be smarter than this
we will lose this trade war, already are,
remember how strong the US was in WW2? we won that war because of our incredible manufacturing abilities
we were invincable
now, CHina holds those cards, and We are not able to manufacture phones, tv’s computers , or basically anything like they can
we have Zero advantages in the trade war, and CHina doesnt listen or respect Trump anyway
so its literally impossible for America to win a trade war against a manufacturing giant
It is a huge tax on American taxpayers
YES
Just approved 12 billion dollars as emergency relief to farmers to make up for their losses (to date) as a result of trade war
A trade war hurts China far more than the U.S. The trade deficit in their favor makes that so. China is not even a major consumer of U.S. goods, whereas we are a major consumer of Chinese goods. We are their number one customer. As for their “trillions” in surplus cash, unlikely. The Yen has been artificially supported and inflated for years and isn’t really worth much outside of China. Economy is strong, manufacturing in America is making a comeback, so beyond liberal scare tactics for the uninformed and failed day traders, I don’t know what recession you’re talking about. Markets are volatile, but if you’re in for the long haul you will make money.
i dont need Your advice to hold onto stocks that are down, im well versed in My trade.
what i need is less, less is more, i need less interference and lies from the president
the markets dont need trumps help, they need his absence
yes,China is sitting on trillions of cash, its true
they got Paid for all the crap they made with slave labor, of course they have money, and lots of it
Phelon, I am fully hinged. I am not unhinged at all. I am just tired of falsehoods being parroted because they heard the lie on Fox “news”. The group texts are annoying and I politely asked to be removed from them. Still fully hinged.
Yes, if Tariffs are left in place they will create incentive for manufacturers to move their factories. I saw it happen last year with the first round of 10% tariffs. Some factories DID move out of China, they did not and most likely still will not, move back to the US though. They moved to eastern block Europe and other low pay Asian counties. The biggest winner in the China / US trade war?
India, Viet Nam, Thailand and the Eastern Europe countries (Ukraine, Romania, etc) The factories that left China immediately opened in these countries.
and they bought CHINESE FUCKING EQUIPMENT to outfit those factories because they didn’t have to pay the tariffs to import it to those countries!!!
rock is correct
Well I guess we’ll put a few sweat shops out of business?
What will the poor orphans do now with an extra 16 hours on their hands????
I am curious on how skewing the market in favor of American manufacturing raises so much ire??????
It’s almost like people want America to fail so they can be in the right???????
We just approved 12 billion dollars in EMERGENCY relief to American farmers
Emergency relief
As in American farmers are bleeding as a result
Don’t be silly, the trade war is not about the trade deficit
Not stimulating mfg or workplace regulation
If you wanted to protect workers rights or child labor – the last thing you would do is engage in narrow nationalist policies
The greatest regulation barring child labor over the last 50 years has been through intentional trade agreements
Child labor regulation has never been furthered by trade wars
Come on man…
becaue it does not, in fact, skew the market in favor of american “manufacturers” There are very few of those left anyway. It skews the market in favor or other nation’s manufacturers. The factories are NOT moving back to the US. they are moving to eastern Europe and other Asian countries.
Why is there ire? Hmmmmm, could be because I missed out on $15,000 in bonuses this year because my projects had to absorb the tariffs which the property owners refused to pay my company. So my company lost money on the projects that were already contracted and had to cut other corners (MY CORNERS!) to stay profitable.
you are out of the loop on this one my friend, i still love ya, but ive been to china 6 times, and i work in financials now.
this isnt what You were told, We were all lied too, and the job You feel like the President helped You with is great, but many jobs are suffering as well
the American businesses are saying enough, the farmers are saying enough, wall street is saying enough, they all want the American tax hike to go away
I can already see that today is going to be a bad day on this blog.
i wish bad days were confined to the blog, im tired of losing money over lies and taxes.
i pay more taxes than the president does, i deserve representation also

taxes hurt the farmers, so we give them money, taxes hurt others too, where is our money?
i feel Ya Rockphin, I feel the same as You do
Oh, and in a free market where there is supply and demand the companies that sell non-chinese products don’t have to compete as hard so now they can raise their prices too and just pocket the difference.
These moves will cause artificial inflation which YOU will have to pay. Big business wins, Small business loses, YOU lose
But go ahead and put your head in the sand and say “nah-uh” ignorantly.
What we need to do is concentrate on what we do well instead of holding on to what we used to be competitive at. And yes that includes figuring out how to help coal miners in transition training for when we don’t dig coal anymore. Keep failing industries propped up and that is a socialism tax we all pay for.
The thing is, everyone knows it’s about leverage
And trying to bring China to its knees
What no one knows is whether it will work
So far it has NOT worked
There’s no debate about it
We are going forward with it
There’s no way to stop it
It’s part of the plan and this isn’t an issue where there’s a mechanism to stop it
I just hope a year from now we all remember who wanted to do it and hold them accountable or give them credit
Rather than changing the subject or blaming some one else or false propaganda about the results
i agree with everything except the no one knows if it will work
Many DO know it wont work, like Larry Kudlow for example, Trumps economic adviser, he knows
Farmers have been getting money from the government for years!
And it’s more like insider trading than harm from tariffs.
Most of my previous post was tongue in cheek!
But, it always seems to be the same line in the sand for everyone?????
Just an observation!
I find that more interesting than the actual subject matter in the conversations.
the 12billion I mentioned above is specifically as a result of game
from the trade wars
It’s not more of the same
It’s new costs to American tax payers
Piggy
I won’t tell you how to Lawyer, if you don’t tell me how farms work?
The government has been regulating crops for years!

good stuff Rock, i fully agree we have to be responsible stewards of our own environment
the days of coal and oil paying off politicians to keep their nasty work going have been exposed.
we get stupid lies like windmill cancer, while Europe and Asia have hi tech answers, that are green and substainable
AOC is brilliant, a working class American representing working class Americans. no one helped her, her daddy didnt give her millions of dollars, she earned everything she has
watch the documentary Bring Down the House, it highlights that working class people can represent working class people, and make a difference, if they really are determined to work hard for it.
one person,, truly can make a difference
who needs billionaires in office? they dont understand our way of life, and cant represent us
trump says people need id to buy groceries, why?
he really doesnt understand what we do, and our lives, hes never had to buy groceries, he sends someone else to do it
its not possible for billionaires to understand or represent us, no matter who they are.
they have money, stolen from us, and have no inclination to give it back, they are very GREEDY
we need real American people to represent real American people IMO
While it was an interesting read, it didn’t have any meat and potatoes!

And shouldn’t!

Am i missing something, how do tariffs turn into raising taxes on all Americans? How does a company moving its business operations out of China, not affect China?
answer, these are NOT tariffs, they are TAXES on Americans. we were lied to by a pathological liar, doesnt make it true.
American business buys stuff from china, at the point of sale, they have to write a check or wire money to the DHS,
Beijing doesnt pay anything to the DHS, and no one can force them to do it
American businesses are paying the Chinese tariffs, and of course they dont operate on 25 percent net margins, so they wont be able to absorb it, and will pass the cost to us.
WE are paying the Chinese tariffs too, that means its really just a tax on Americans under a false name of tariffs.
everything we buy will be more expensive, so Americans also pay the tarrifs /taxes
explore exactly HOW the tariffs are Literally paid, and You will see what Im talking about

ill sell ya my stocks, lol seriously, no one else wants to buy right now
but You avoided my question, do You like breathing clean air? do u like drinking clean water? why is this an impossible question to answer, lol
David – Maybe AOC could figure out that if goods from China are more expensive because of the tariffs, DON’T BUY THEM FROM CHINA!!!!
Could be a hard concept?
No, let’s just blame Trump instead of being smart and shopping around. Unbelievable . . .
lol thats a very shallow point of view, its much more complex than that
im not buying anything from China right now, and im still suffering from Trumps tax hike
its impossible to just stop buying stuff from china, and hope the taxes to us dont matter
the tax hike to Americans, is impossible to ignore, i get reminded everytime i look at my portfolio, market sucked again today
why woud Beijing giving us money harm the market? doesnt work like that
investors are on the sidelines, i see it, volumes are way down
im the same way, i have thousands of cash sitting around doing nothing,
i cant find anything going up or growing, so i dont invest, waiting for a real president in 2020

That everybody’s shit sticks to the wall????? 😉
I’m learning who is playing a short game vs long game.
I am surprised that Trump detractors aren’t happy about this trade war. Trump’s best chance at reelection is a rock-strong growing economy. So if this trade war fallout continues, it could potentially lampoon his one shot at victory next year (as I see it).
You are probably right Kong
But no needs a recession just for a political win
Beyond that – you have to assume he will be held accountable for the economy and given the history so far, I would say it’s more likely some one else gets blamed rather than Trump
David – You can’t just go completely off of fossil fuels and coal when it’s a major part of your energy. You can lessen your dependence on it when newer and cleaner forms of energy are ready to replace them, but you can’t just stop it. Is this something new that’s happened only since Trump became President? The answer is no, it’s been happening for decades, many of those under Democratic Presidents as well, Clinton and Obama. Or tell me, did Obama set us free from oil and coal and then Trump went back to it? This is what I mean. Your truths are garbage.
It’s crazy! The entire country would come to a halt and it would be an economic disaster.
you are wrong my friend, and still havent answered how ignoring the environment fixes it
my truths are truths, Your speculation and avoidance of the problem is garbage
Oh, and AOC is neither brilliant, nor the first tree-hugger to want to save the environment without a logical plan to do so in place. She won’t be the last either.
you dont know who she is, fox news does NOT portray her truthfully
her plan to fix the environment , is far better than trumps plan to pollute the environment, and we will pay for it with cancers and death.
pollution KILLS people
and one last time, how does ignoring the environment, clean it up? AOC has a plan, what is Yours, ignore it and hope it fixes itself?
MikeEvyou were such a genius! Problem solved just don’t buy from them!
I wish I had thought of that!!
Except I will be out of fucking business because all my competitors were buying from them so I had to to keep competitive
Now there is literally no source for some items other than China. Yes these tariffs may force companies to move their factories to other low-cost countries but it will not help America And in the meantime if you want to buy a fucking plumbing fixture from Ferguson you will pay 25% more than you charged your clients in your bid.
Or maybe my company should just stop building until we can find alternate places to buy everything.
Which is it then, the tariffs are making the prices to high to bear or are they not? You can’t have it both ways!!!
try to keep an open mind Mike, no ones attacking You,We love ya buddy
we are just conversing and explaining how the tax hike harms all of us, and we happen to think ignoring the environment isnt a viable solution
Mike
The tariffs have immediate results to the industries that demand on those goods
His example of having a contract in place but suddenly the costs skyrocketed by 25% pits a fine point on that
The tariffs are a means to decrease the deficit – but meanwhile, while to wait to see IF that happens, businesses still have to operate
So you they are now paying more for parts, more than was initially considered when the contract was negotiated
If the trade deficit is deceased none of that $ will be returned to those businesses
Basically you are telling the companies that are hurt that they aren’t hurt bc you can get into manufacturing now instead
It’s a complete shift of our economy – and frankly I think it’s dumb
The underlying theory is dumb
David – Why is it impossible to stop buying things from China? There are always alternatives. Now if you said you can’t stop buying EVERYTHING from China, that would make more sense, just like you can’t really logically become independent of fossil fuels and coal when it makes up the majority of your energy output. We have to cut down on both!
bro, its far more complex than that
like i said before, this is an American tax, and Americans are suffering
its not about not buying from china, its about not paying taxes under a phony name
when wall street and businesses suffer, we all suffer. regardless if we buy from china or not
worlds markets have lost a trillion dollars over this, and if David doesnt buy from China, it wont fix anything
do You buy food? i do, its from USA too, and its getting more expensive because of this bs tax hike/ farmers and grocery stores will pass the extra costs to us
Hey man, no one’s keeping you here in this country. If it doesn’t suit you, find somewhere else
thats a bs statement from You Mike, it ignores the problems the country faces.
it appears You dont care about other Americans, unless they kiss Your ass, SMH
because Americans deserve representation and demand it, does not mean we have to leave the country.

It was a play on you not getting in on the conversation!
Not getting in the mud!
OH! Got it, my friend! THANK YOU for the compliment, sir!
Yes, I’ve been biting my tongue!!!
Getting ready for a meeting I will check replies later
I just want to make sure the tree-huggers continue to complain about taxes when their Democratic brethren are in office. Believe me, the taxes will be there, and they will be worse!
bring it on, the taxes we have now to pollute the environment sucks

It got more expensive when it was regulated to go to cleaner burning diesel!
Nothing moves without Diesel! and that “regulation” upped the price on everything!
yes, oil prices are rising also
everything can move without diesel, its called electric vehicles or high speed trains. dozens of countries are doing it, PROVING it does work
we just dont have much of these things like Europe and Asia does, USA is falling behind in technology to other countries
buy a box of paper clips and they are made in china, when did we lose the ability to manufacture paper clips?
we cant compete with slave labor, china has it, we dont. its reprehensible, i hate it, but no one can deny slavery is profitable
China is the number one economy in the world now, guess who they passed up? yep USA
i dont like it as much as you do , but china owns our asses, dammit
Maybe this Tarrif will give someone the incentive to build a paper clip factory!
I’ll build it for them and you can buy Merican clips!
I don’t “need” shit from china!
I may buy it because it’s cheaper!
But now maybe I’ll make a different choice?????
there is a company in California by the name of Capstone Turbine which produces microturbines for numerous uses such as keeping elevators running in buildings during a fire, powering the Reagan Library, including providing the heating and cooling and microturbine powered vehicles.
problem is, the technology isn’t being adopted as much in this country as it is in others. their microturbines can also be used to burn the methane gas found at landfills as a fuel source (methane is highly corrosive to parts but these turbines are the only ones of their kind that can handle it).
they use them in garbage trucks in towns in Europe as they enable the trucks, which pick up garbage in the early morning hours to do so quietly without the noise of a diesel engine.
they are also used in the City of Baltimore bus fleet.
here’s a video of them used in delivery trucks:
it may be true You dont need anything from china, but do You need additional costs when you buy American products? you do realize American businesses rely on China right? do You need more expensive food? i dont, im amazed at the cost of groceries nowadays
its 2 bucks for a bag of chips, and 12 dollars for a bag of grapes, this is why we eat unhealthy, its cheaper.
when U buy a Ford, You do realize many of the parts are foreign made in that American car?
we married China, divorce will be VERY difficult
David
You seem to think I live in a city?
I have clean water! In my very own well!
My air is crystal clear! Not a sign of your overpopulated stuff you breath!
That’s why I always say it’s a choice!
what about the other 330 million Americans, would You like us all to move next to you so we can all have clean air and water? we wont have work there, will You support us all until we can find work?
is this your idea of fixing the environment? if not, what is it?
Not a fuckin chance!
You made your beds!
Sleep in them to your hearts content!
My Dad had a very simple rule.
Leave EVERYTHING better than you found it.
If the rest of you 330 million idiots would do that, we’d be OK!

Piggy
I won’t tell you how to Lawyer, if you don’t tell me how farms work?
The government has been regulating crops for years!
And it’s always been about import / export!
Also to keep the prices down in the States!
****
It’s been announced as by the Trump administration and was specifically earmarked to aid economic harm caused by the Tarriffs
It’s hardly a matter of opinion that has anything to do with anyone’s occupation or that any expertise can shed light on bc it’s openly admitted
It doesn’t matter if farms have always been subsidized (everyone knows that) it’s whether the need has increased
The earmarking of these funds was an admission by this administration that those funds were necessary
If you are saying nothing is different than it ever was, you aren’t just disagreeing with me, you are disagreeing with the Trump administration
https://www.agweb.com/mobile/article/emergency-aid-for-farmers-affected-by-tariffs/
The Government has been regulating crops since before I was born!
It’s still just a part of it
That has nothing to do with the point WY
If the need is greater to earmark more $ now – obviously they did it for a reason
These tariffs are about the end game, not what’s happening in the stock market yesterday ( I say yesterday, because the market is up biggly today, I noticed that was mentioned). TreeWe have to face the trade deficit now, that was allowed to progress by Clinton, Bush, Obama and Carter. So if you want to blame someone for the trade wars start blaming the source and not the one trying to fix it.
agreed, blame the source of the tariffs, TRUMPs tariffs, not Kudlows
If it fails or gets worse, he’s very much to blame for it getting worse or failing
The odds of this backfiring seem pretty high
It’s a bold move
If it was his business or money – that’s fine
But it’s not
And even if it works – there’s a ton of collateral damage on the way to get the benefits
I get the end game, I question whether it will be worth it even if it works
It’s quite the risk and real people will suffer along the way
you are 100 percent correct Piggy
David
I get that many things are made i China
I’m just saying that maybe we will start producing some home grown again!
I build things for a living! so nothing about new industries sounds bad to me!
Maybe someone will need their new extruder piped up so we can make paper clips?
i would LOVE for us to manufacture more, that is truly the answer.
how do we do that, by taxing American businesses? nope
Buy making it cost effective to build it here!
Oh wait???????????
so when we buy a ford, we should rip out all the foreign parts, and replace them with domestic ones?
American buisness rely on cheap raw materials from foreign countries, so when You buy American, many times there are foreign parts to it, or foreign interests in the American Business.
there truly isnt a way to avoid NOT to buy American stuff , that doesnt have foreign interests in it
its like trying to buy stuff with no oil connected to it, everything is effected by the cost of gas or diesel, You cant avoid it unless You live in a cave and never do anything

You earn stuff!
You want a cleaner environment?propose a city bond to clean up everything?
See if you can get it passed????
Shot sighted?
Maybe? But I’ll do my part! How about the rest???????????
so taxpayers havent earned representation? since when?
You get what you vote for!
Been that way for years! 😉
you didnt answer the question, and no we didnt get what we voted for
he lies, why believe a liar? do Americans want to be lied too? I dont
Why don’t we concentrate on not fucking it up worse first?
Then we’ll work on cleaning it up!
David you want to talk about the American people, how about those displaced in 2000 after most of our manufacturing went out of the country?
We are the worlds 2nd largest manufacturer after China
We still do quite a bit of manufacturing here in the US
good question, what do we do to help them? lies and taxes should do the trick huh,, lol jk
unfortunately, we cannot bring all the maunufacturing jobs back, because buisnesses hate paying for American labor
automation is the new way, like it or not, there are grocery stores out there now, that dont have many people working there, machinery has cost them work
our cars are made by robots, of course there are laborerers involved too, but to truly solve the labor problem in America, we have to encourage small buisnesses, and people can work for themselves and directly benefit from their labor
American buisnesses will not toss the robots in the garbage and hire people, they just wont
i dont have the answer to this, i just know additional taxes cant be the answer.
OMG, that’s hypocritical. Only when it fits your agenda, now I get it.
whats hypocritical?
people are going crazy over these Tariffs, it’s not as big of a deal as the Liberal media make it out to be, Trump is hitting 200 billion in chinese product at an increased 15%, that equates to 30 billion per year. Taxes that will be used at the Govt’s discretion.
we paid 6 trillion in taxes last year so 30 billion is nothing.
but with the liberal media throwing a scare into investors the stock market took an 800 billion dollar hit. almost 30 years worth of tariff taxes.
the stock market will bounce back and the liberals will find something else to complain about.
ORob — sounds like you should be buying. And there is a case for doing so, especially since Trump will probably come to some kind of deal.
the liberal media is telling the truth that trumps tariffs are really just an American tax hike
thank God the liberal media exposes lies and uncovers the real truth, someone needs to do it
the liberal media didnt harm the market, the presidents tax hike did
David — very complicated topics here and no clear answers. Am curious what about looking for trends in the equity markets makes you believe you are an expert in macroeconomics. I was an econ major (even spent a semester at the London School of Economics), but wouldn’t call myself one. Do overall agree with you on the tariffs issue though.
i never claimed to be an expert, and agree this is much more complex than can be addressed on a football blog, lol
but i do spend 100 hours a week in the markets, or did, now im a bystander and observer, waiting for something to really go up, not just a dead cat bounce.
yea the market did a little better today, im only 15 percent down on shit instead of 17, wopp de doo,
its still a garbage market and will correct more according to many wall street experts, not Me
im still a novice, it takes about 20 years to become an expert in the markets
but i try to learn everyday from the experts , like warren Buffet, and some others
everytime imvestors start getting confident, trump fucks it up, i see it every month,, its so damn frustrating
he is killing the markets and no one is stopping him
he needs to leave it alone, and it will be fine
My bad — just thought you were throwing your hours on following the markets as a serious insight into national long-term economic policy. Do know you have a lot of times into studying stocks, but that sorta a different kind of science. Even if some overlap for sure.
David – This pollution crisis didn’t start when Trump got elected. Why is it all of a sudden such an issue? Were you crying about this when Obama was in office? If not, why not? Why do you continue to ask ME how I intend to fix it? I intend to drive my V8 Mustang until I can’t get one anymore, and if some tree hugger tries to tell me I can’t I’ll run right the F over them!
People were definitely upset about lack of environmental legislation during Obama and before him too
I’m sure there were, but I doubt they blamed it on the President. What I’m saying is pollution is not a Trump problem, so I don’t understand where this vitriol is coming from.
pollution is a trump problem, hes in charge now, no need to cover for his fat ass, he can do that fine by himself
its trumps policies he enacted that harm the environment, even more than it was before
allowing companies to dump toxins in waterways was trumps idea, he gets the credit for it
he always changing policy or pushing drilliing in national parks or tourist areas and pollute even more, yea thats him, not hillary, she cannot be blamed for trumps policy changes, even though its a overused scapegoat for republicans to blame others for their faults
i asked you a question four times with no answer
and now you want an answer from Me? ask me 5 more times and ill think about it

bingo! now we are on the same page
now you see why many are against the pipelines, and drilling in national parks, or off the coast of Florida, or allowing busineeses to dump toxins in waterways or smoke stacks darkening the air.
its polluting the environment, so we should stop it, and then clean it up. much agreed!
Pipelines are 100 times safer than any other transportation!
The regulations on a construction / Drilling site are very stringent on environmental noncompliance!
Smoke stacks????????????
You mean flare stacks? Because their releases are heavily regulated. And the fines are in the 100 thousands
Do you have an easement on your property?
pipelines are dinosaur thinking, oil and coal are flintstone shit,
its a hi tech world and America is falling behind with pipeline thinking,
using oil and gas is retarded and killing the environment
there ARE alternative energy sources that dont pollute the environment, solar, wind, tides, etc
if we had renewable and substainable energy that doesnt pollute, thats a huge step in the right direction versus drilling in national parks and tourist areas for nasty ass oil
trump has an infrastructure plan coming up, that is a good chance for him to develop non polluting infrastructure, IF he gave a shit about others or the environment
Do you think battery acid is created in the battery?
Where does it start from???????
How is it disposed of???????
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfuric_acid
disposal isnt neccesary when batteries can be recycled but you HAVE illustrated there isnt an easy way out of this, i agree, but i feel we must try regardless
many things in life are difficult, but We have to deal with it.
i just feel that drilling for oil in national parks and tourist areas is a horrible idea, and must be stopped
How can I say this without offending anyone here… y’all don’t know $#!T about economics. The ignoramus of anybody talking about as much here is on full display today. SMMFH
Most of y’all chiming in on economics don’t even know how to manage an NFL salary cap, for crying out loud. So how the FUCK are any of you qualified to manage the USA economy, let along understanding GLOBAL economics?
Give it a rest, already! 😡
I thought this was a football blog.
no one here has claimed they are experts at fixing the economy, instead we are discussing how the tax hike isnt good for the economy
the number one way to begin to fix that, is chunk the retarded tariffs taxes idea in the garbage where it belongs, jus sayin,
it doesnt require an expert to know extra taxes dont fix anything for us
You probably would have been better off not posting this.
Disagreed. Now lets get back to football! 🙂
Okay but I’ve was posting football stuff and that wasn’t the topic today so I stayed out of it except for one comment about you can change energy overnight with the country dropping to its knees. Everything would stop.
“except for one comment about you can’t change energy overnight without the country dropping to its knees.”
I had to revise that because the way I typed it made no sense. LOL
Damn M.. You were doing so good today.
😀
I was getting very tired of the nonsense.
I thought it was a Game of Thrones blog. 🙂
LOL! I thought it was a Star Wars blog! 🙂
David – It’s not my responsibility to have the answer on how to fix it, which is why you continuing to ask me is asinine beyond belief. I’m not a an environmental scientist, and I never claimed to have the answer to power. I do know, however, that expecting to just eliminate the energy we use now to go to clean energy 100% is unrealistic. It will take a long time to abandon those things, or our entire economy would collapse and we wouldn’t be able to run our country. Just because you ask a moronic question, it doesn’t mean it was worthy of an answer.
tell ya what, your personal attacks are old and pointless
you have failed to answer a simple question, except bitch about the question, SMH
i was respectful to You, just dont kiss your ass and believe everything You say
do u really want a blog of kissups? or can we all contribute in our own ways with respect to others?
i never said you needed to leave the country, and dont ask me if i feel that was a smart statement or not, you wont like the answer
ZERO offense to anybody, but things are getting extremely heated here regarding politics.
Na!
I’m just having fun!
🙂
politics are not the problem on the blog IMO
its baseless personal attacks by the blog editor
Not even a smiley at the and of that? 🙂
I find it humorous that everyone thinks “gas” is all you get out of petroleum!
^
True, but gasoline and Jet-A/JP-n are the main uses. We will still need petroleum for plastics, fertilizer, and some other uses until equal replacements can be formulated.
who thinks that?
I have to agree with some of the items already presented by others. These types of tariffs will *not* appreciably result in the return of goods being produced in the US, if at all. As stated, these manufacturers will merely move production to other low cost countries with relatively lower tariffs over the long haul. This is one of the tenants of capitalism – to stay competitive one must lower production costs and/or increase price. If your competition is lowering production cost and you do not, they can undersell and you are out of business. So one has no choice but join the race to the least common denominator for production cost and price.
Additionally, tariffs can have unintended consequences – see the Smoot-Hawley Tariff and its role in the Great Depression.
Having said all that, I do agree that the trade deficit is a serious issue, and must be addressed. However, the issues are vastly complex (I won’t pretend I have the answers). If this trade war can move China to play a little more fairly, that would be an improvement. I would focus on Chinese dumping of goods to start. But it is all a gamble. If anyone thinks the Chinese government will just rollover they may be in for a surprise (China has a vast amount of currency reserves, etc. at the moment).
Oh fine!
Bring in things like facts with footnotes and shit!
Killjoy! 😉
Ha, I wanted to join in on the ‘fun’… 😐
smart man! You get it!
The biggest factor in the trade deficit is electronics/technology
China isn’t following any of the rules concerning intellectual property
Will this trade war bring them to the table to discuss that?
If it does – then you have to think about enforceability
How do you enforce international intellectual property rights?
Another trade war?
I think the entire concept is flawed
It’s not to far removed from things like environmentalism or intentional crime. The way to enforce the rules is international cooperation.
But we are moving in a direction of nationalism, shunning our allies and groups like NATO and pulling out of things like the Paris Agreement
With international cooperation we can enforce intellectual property rights but I don’t think this nationalism focused administration doing that
So we take on the burden ourselves and I think that’s very costly and less likely to work.
Agreed for the most part. However, playing the long game of international cooperation hasn’t exactly work to this point (perhaps in time it might). Those countries that skirt intellectual property rights or just give them lip service may well continue to do so regardless. In the meanwhile some (in government and in the population at large) become frustrated that this (the trade deficit and other points you bring up) can’t be dealt with in the near term, and try these tactics. They very likely won’t work, but I understand the attempt. The problem is, for some of these things that ship sailed a long time ago in rectifying it via tariffs, etc. Frustrating for those who want quick solutions.
Fred Smoot?
Nah, Andres Galarraga.
He’s know for his tariffs….and ballhawking skills.
LMAO that was funny
Twice — all well said. US just can’t compete with low-labor cost countries on certain products unless we want to lower the labor cost. So if not China will be some other one….. and places like Vietnam, Phillipines and Brazil might really be rooting for a US/China trade war. If US is gonna compete on manufactured products…. have to be high value added ones.
Check out where the Fest seats are? Pretty darn nice (like on the 30 and 8-10 rows up in the top deck).

Rock – Did I conflate? You’ll have to excuse me, that frozen thing I ate makes that happen sometimes. Take consolation that David is on your side.
BTW – Believe I conflated liberals, tree huggers and taxes. All quite correctly I might add . . .
Did You notice im not bitching about smoke stack huggers 🙂
Exhaust pipes
I’m probably reading too much into, but they don’t look too big. Think our back 7 is gonna be real quick against the pass. Against the run?…. well it’s the modern game.
funny, i thought the same thing, but our LB should be good to go this year.
and yes, i believe You are correct its a sign of the modern game
lb have to be very fast and able to cover TE, and go after QB, among many other tasks they have to do
the NFL is a game of seconds, most plays last six seconds or less.
the faster the LB the better 🙂
Rock – I wear cellophane 24/7 bro. I’m as transparent as they come. What you see is what you get.
Fitzpatrick is first string in practice, lets hope we dont start the season with this interception machine
i hope we put our franchise guy in, we brought him here to be a starter, not to be FItzpatricks backup
maybe the coaches want Rosen to EARN it, and thats fine, He WILL
Rosen admitted he’s playing catch-up after moving from Arizona to Florida a few weeks ago. He’s learning a new playbook and other nuances — like finding the bathroom at the Dolphins’ facility.
It’s also been a hectic offseason for Rosen, who said Tuesday on “The Rich Eisen Show” that Cardinals general manager Steve Keim didn’t speak to him for months leading up to the draft and hasn’t reached out since Rosen was traded to Miami. Rosen also said he didn’t know the Cardinals’ draft plans until Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury called him one minute before the pick to let him know they were selecting Kyler Murray.
Competition underway
The first Fitzpatrick vs. Rosen evaluation open to the media took place on Tuesday, which was a steady mix of 7-on-7 drills and smaller position-group sessions. Flores acknowledged it is way too early to make a starting quarterback decision, but he listed a few key traits that will ultimately decide the winner.
“We’re looking for leadership. We’re looking for accuracy,” Flores said. “We’re looking for an understanding of what we’re trying to do offensively from a protection standpoint, from an alignment standpoint. We’re looking for guys who can consistently move the ball down the field.”
This is a battle that likely will last deep into the summer, but early signs indicate Rosen will need his talent and upside to rise above Fitzpatrick’s experience and command.
ESPN
There really is no depth chart at this time. Someone has to take first snaps and Fitz is the vet. The same thing goes for other positions.
true that, all starting positions, have to be earned
Flores has been saying that since he got here. We all know some of the players who will earn that because they’re good. But nothing is handed out based on the past or draft status. I’m pretty sure Howard is going to start. LOL
Stanger, we have a mix of LBs at different sizes. Some will play different roles and that also fits into the multiple philosophy.
I still wan to see if Chase Allen turns into Kyle Van Noy
He’s gotta get over that foot injury but he gives us a LB with size against physical teams. When he’s on the field he always seems to find the ball and he’s a solid tackler.
Raekwon our MLB stuffer is like 240. Alsono less than that and Baker way quick and undersized. Ginkle not that much bigger, but then at least some are talking about him as an edge. Yeah we have bigger on the squad, but don’t see the old stomper days with 255-270 pound LBs. Think fast and able to cover is the theme.
It does seem like we want to have the DL hold up at the POA and the back 7 flies to the ball. Pass rush will be generated from stunt/blitz schemes and/or if a couple of guys step up as one on one pass rushers. Charles Harris, are you listening? 🙂
I take a 2-hour break from this blog, and I’m now wondering if maybe some should just stick to politics… LOL 😉
I say, that’s a, I say a JOKE, friends! *in my Foghorn Leghorn voice*
HUH?? 😉
😆
😉
Damn, I forgot that Allen was injured last season
Wyoming,
