Game action is here, but don’t get too excited. The players are probably pumped up, but preseason games don’t often show a lot about a team. Teams use the most basic and streamlined playbook. What these games are about is how your starters match up against the other team’s starters, how your two’s match up against the other teams two’s, and so on and so on.
Despite the fact that we won’t see any anything exotic from either team and from either side of the ball, we may get an idea how the team looks in the various formations, such as 3-4 rather 4-3 alignment. You know we’re going to see nickel and dime formations but there may be some wrinkles as to who is in them.
The starters in this game won’t all necessarily be the starters in the regular season Game 1. There’s definitely some experimentation and psychological warfare going on here. Flores is trying to motivate certain players to ascend while also giving some people an opportunity to flourish. It’s a common theme in the preseason, all teams do it.
What I’m looking for is for guys to execute their jobs well. On the offensive side, that means the O-line holds their blocks and win their individual battles. Same goes for the D-line, beat the guy in front of you.Due to the fact that the playbook (for both teams) will be basic, I want to see the RB’s be patient and find the hole, not try to bounce everything to the outside too quickly. I want to see the QB’s throwing to multiple receivers, WR’s, TE’s, and RB’s as well, but not an overload of check downs.
Atlanta has a lot talent on the offensive side of the ball. Matt Ryan will play sparingly, and because they recently placed 3rd string QB Kurt Benkert on IR, Matt Schaub and now 3rd stringer Matt Sims will get the majority of snaps. tevin Coleman is gone, but Devonta Freeman is still there and Coleman is replaced by Ito Smith. Julio Jones is still there but he will get limited snaps. The Falcons O-line is formidable and should be a good litmus test for our front 7. On defense the Falcons are less dangerous, allowing 423 points last season.
For the Dolphins, it will be very interesting to see how LG Michael Deiter fares, and also how RT Jordan Mills is coming back from injury. Besides LT Laremy Tunsil, everyone on the O-line is a question mark. RB’s 1A and 1B Drake and Ballage should both be motivated to show they deserve more carries, so that should be fun to watch. Parker, Stills and Wilson round out the WR’s with Gesicki starting at TE On defense, Harris and Carradine are the ends and rookie Christian Wilkins and Davon Godchaux are inside at DT. Baker at WLB and RaeMac in the middle and Alonso at SLB. As of now it shows Jones and BobbyMac at S, but Jones is in a walking boot so it may be TJ. Eric Rowe will be the CB opposite X. Keep an eye on Rowe because he should see a lot of action.
Let’s hope we see some good play, and no injuries and we’ll call the night a success!
GO DOLPHINS!!

This is my favorite skynyrd song
Agreed. I will learn this even though I think I have played it when I was drunk and don’t remember 😎🎼🎸🥃🥃🥃
Save the best for last. Enjoy 🐕🥃🥃
My dick leans to the left. Does that mean anything? lol
t means you’re a little too liberal with that information…lol
I saw Pat Benatar at Central Park when they used to have concerts there with Eddie Money.. They were both great.
I saw the beastie boys and sonic youth and fishbone in Central Park
Don’t know what they stopped having concerned there
Love that 80s ska influence
Never caught the English Beat but did both the bands they broke up into — Fine Young Cannibals and General Public.
I think most of these guys appear in Tim’s male aerobic videos. Not that there is anything wrong with that. 👌
Lol
It was the 80s dude
Watching that thing I was thinking “are they high or am I?” Dudes just do what they do.
LOL
Oh hell yes !! Love this song.
I’ll never forget when they burst onto the scene with this song. It was revelatory.
Lol Kong
I didn’t know you were a white zombie fan
Did you ever see his movies?
I really dig Rob Zombie in all his creative endeavors. I think my favorite movie of his was his directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses.
Devil’s Rejects was probably better constructed, but it was just too viscerally evil for me, lol. The fantasy aspect of Corpses made it palatable whereas Devil’s Rejects was too realistically brutal (i use realistic loosely, lol.)
I’m torn on the Halloween remakes. I kinda liked the 1st one, but it’s an entirely different type of horror than the original. Visceral gore and brutality as opposed to psychological suspense and terror. I tend to prefer the latter, so the original will always be superior in my mind, but the remake was good if you accept it for what it is IMO.
This one is great too
It I feel like I should be driving a scooby doo van and and trying to solve a mystery when I listen to it
Here’s some more 80s stuff
It this is my favorite from that era
Never heard of before, but real nice. Reminded me of the psychedelic furs.
I didn’t know we were doing big hair bands?
Piggy – I dig Fishbone, they were entertaining. Fun group
Good concert
Serious mosh pit
This is from your panties dropping collection

Love the disturbed clip
For Wyo
Zombie has another installment coming out soon called “three from hell”
I didn’t realize that. In September too. Thanks!
Looked to me that Williams May be more the real deal than a late summer flash, good boundary guy, good hands and willing to fight for the ball
Hope he turns out to be a beast, been awhile since we had a solid #1 they are not easy to find
I guess Wyo dropped his panties last night
We do have a good but sad problem at TE.
Walford has looked good all summer and caught 2 balls in the Atl game.
We can’t give up on Gesicki yet.
O’Leary makes plays.
We can keep 4 but not 5.
That means Allen or Smythe gets cut?
I like both those guys.
jests, patsies, buffalo all need a TE, but
I certainly don’t want any of ours to leave for a division rival,
not with that brand new playbook in their head.
that was a great play hitting the TE up the middle. very patriotic play. i think they just wanted to give it a run but the offense is probably very vanilla right now, i look to see a lot of that in the reg season.
i highly doubt Allen gets cut, that would be a 4.5 mil hit on our cap, they are paying him for a reason, in fact he probably is our starting T.E. if anyone is on the bubble it may be gesicki, he wasn’t very good last year, had problems getting off the line due to being man handled, there was talk of putting him in motion to avoid that. hopefully he has become more physical this year. we shall see

he sure looks damn good to me, the CBs for atl were being abused by that guy! like they were mugsy bouges trying to out rebound shaq!
top 5 in rec & yards last year in college…
undrafted….WHAT!!!!
Maybe we can trade Stills to the Raiders. They need a WR.
We can always use more draft picks next year
It ain’t crazy to trade him
What owner wants that show in his building?
Oh wait ours USED too!!!!!
In a perfect world Parker becomes what he was expected to become and they put him and Williams on the field at the same time.
they seem to be the same type possession rec, i think you need a speed guy on the other side to knock the top off the D, it will open it up for those big guys. i’m not sure who’s better Parker or willams????
Exactly!
Not many teams have 2 pro bowl CB’s
I Williams takes the #1 DB then Parker should have a massive year!
Parker ran a 4.45 40 at the combine…he’s not exactly a classic possession guy
Wilson ran over 4.50 at his pro day so he gots that description a little better
But we have other really speedy wrs in Grant and Wilson
I like the idea of having a 3rd in Stills
But we do have some other fast wrs
A reoccurring trend!
You’d think if anything Flores would be downplaying the kid. Seems instead he decided to tell all the other wideouts that he is gonna be on the 53.
Drake came out with the first team to my surprise, seen limited action, this tells me they think he’s their bell cow, he started off with a nice 9 yard run (it counts) but then proceeded to get stuffed by a single tackler,
he’s very soft.
i don’t think his bell cow status will last very long.
I don’t think the plan was ever for him to be a bell cow. My only Q is whether we are going be going tandem or by committee. And we have a nice RB stable to do the committee thing.
Impressive: Preston Williams, Hendrix, Gaskins running backs in general look good , effort and speed to ball on D , coaching intensity, and perceived intelligence
Looked good(want to see more): Rosen, Ruddock TE usage Ford on returns, Carradine, Butler, general team discipline
Need to show up to keep jobs: Hurns, Mills
Possibly played themselves out of a job : Needham, Holden,
If (BIG IF) Parker can finally stay healthy and prove we were right to keep him , and Williams keeps balling , I can definitely see Stills being moved, as we have burners in grant and Wilson. We are gonna surprise a bunch of people and teams this year
Thing about Grant and Wilson though is that they are not deep pattern threats, even if have a whole lot of speed. But guess throwing out Parker and Williams would be interesting when the open could be vertical.
Could you figure out what was going on on D? Many times I just pick-up football “I got that guy” lined up across the LOS with a deep FS. And other times some LBS were back there. 🙂
Wife and I were talking about BLT’s , the sandwich, I said I like to fry an egg and put it on there (BELT), she said oh I bet BLT would be good with a chicken breast on there. So we decided to each have ours for dinner tonight. Problem is which one do we make first?
Remove the bacon first
LOL
Son — whichever one first two different sandwiches to me. You add the chix breast on talking hearty bread/roll with a hefty spread. I’d go mustard and mayo, but plenty of others. Would season chix while cooking too.
The BELT i’d fry up right with the eggs and bacon on white bread slices. Lettuce would go on right before the flip together and oh yes there would cheese that had been melting on least one slice before then. Knife and fork after, but so good.
Lettuce don’t belong on a fried egg sammich… 😝. Mayo with chicken not mustard.. cheese on EVERYTHING 😊
LOL — was trying to keep with the BLT theme. Got me hungry for the fried egg special though. Love it with hard salami, pepperoni or Lebanon Bologna (you guys might not have that one). And with them don’t have to cook the bacon.
Just watched the game on YouTube. The stench of Tannehill and Gase is gone, all QBs moved the ball and were mostly accurate.
The D is a work in progress, but not horrible.
I have a worse impression of our team now, then after following it on ESPN and from the posts here.
I don’t see 0-16 or close, but I don’t see a playoff team either.
I saw a Super Bowl team. Our shit was better than Atlanta’s shit and they’re supposed to be a playoff team.
We were down 19-10, the second had many that wont be on a team or play a prominent role.
I wasn’t really impressed with what I saw of the game but it is so early. Still very concerned. Lots of work to do.
Preston Williams seems to be a baller. Would like to see him against 1s.
Game was sloppy, particularly the OL, pressure and the tackling. Coverage seemed good though even if the pressure wasn’t there.
Our 1,s on D spent a fair amount of time in the backfield.. no sacks I don’t think but we’re also pushing their line back .. I thought DL looked okay for 1st go
Stranger: I don’t have enough football IQ to ID what they planning pre snap but as someone said last night , it looked like we were causing havoc …
As for Deep threat, Wilson was used outside in KC , mind you he did not have as much impact in KC s offence as he showed in ours inside last year
This was my take away!
Loved that play, too. That’s what FBs do!!!
Steve,
Was there ever much legitimate hope for the playoffs this year? For me it’s always been about starting the foundation off right, and hopefully exceeding the common prediction that we’re going to be the worst team in the league. I’ve never thought we were going to be as bad as most of the talking heads predict.
I’ve been figuring 4-6 wins is probably a fair expectation, and nothing I saw in the 1st game changes that. (To be fair I did miss the 1st quarter and a chunk of the 2nd which is when most of the starters played so…)
What I took from the game is Rosen has potential, our offensive system already seems to be better than any we’ve had for years. When was the last time every QB we threw in to the game was able to move the offense?
We need a CB opposite X. That player had better get ready to be targeted all year.
Our oline is going to be a work in progress, and will likely be the biggest reason our offense doesn’t break out.
We have skill players out the wazoo.
Speaking of skill players, Preston Williams is going to be a stud, and Parker is on notice. I’m pretty sure every catch Williams made was a tricky catch, and he made it look easy. I may be a bit over enthusiastic after just one game, but I see AJ Green potential.
We had a lot of missed tackles on D, but you kind of expect that at this stage.
I think our D will be able to stop the run. We’ll see about getting to the QB.
Flores didn’t do anything that makes you scratch your head (except for that time out at the end of the game which I still think was a courtesy move towards Atlanta and/or a chance to put our D in a position to have to make a stop).
Nobody looked completely lost even though we’re installing new complex systems. All 3 facets of the team looked about as prepared as you can expect in preseason game one when you turn over the entire coaching staff and install a new offense and defense.
I can’t wait to get another look at this team.
Cav — right with you on all that mostly. Not a bad first game given who we are. Key things did learn are that Preston is a keeper, Rosen a gamer and our swarmy D can cover mostly. Plus that looks like the team is moving in the right direction.
The T.O. Flores took at the end of the game was a dead ball play, the Falcons had just called a T.O. Flores, likely, just wanted to see how Atlanta lined up, then he setup the D. Gase on the other hand would call a T.O. on D with the clock running.
Ah, thank you. I only saw the live game, and haven’t seen a replay. LOL, I was genuinely confused at the time. I thought we had just run the ball, and we called T/O right after, stopping the clock. I somehow missed that Atlanta had called a T/O first, then we did.
Oh wait. I just reread your post. The T/O I’m talking about was when we took possession at the 6 with about 1:40 left. We ran on first down, then called a T/O without letting any time tick off or forcing Atlanta to call T/O.
I thought perhaps Flores called T/O so that even when we scored Atlanta would have time left and it would force our D to make a stop (more opportunity for situational evaluation)
19-0 You bastards!
LOL — you and David together as the only two on the make the playoffs theme. 🙂
LOL
I LOVED that show
I was pretty young, but I remember enjoying it. A Three’s Company kind of show is how I remember it (right or wrong).
I am still cracking up at the absurdity of picturing Phel and David in that opening montage, lol.
Was impressed with Rosen, even in the 1st half while under constant pressure. Would be fine with him starting the season, but maybe Fitz deserves it more.
On our very first 1st down Atlanta appears to be lined up in the wide 9, so what does Fitz do, takes a short drop back, then runs forward for an easy 1st down.
How do you motivate Devante? Preston William’s. I’d like to see both in the game at times this year, if you double them both we’ll have guys like Wilson and Grant running free underneath.
If Parker can get his ass in gear, and Williams continues to do what he’s been doing, we’re going to be stacked at WR. And having Williams means when Parker sprains a hair follicle and misses a few games, we’ll still have a big bodied receiver in the lineup, lol.
Have Needam, Holden and Mills been cut yet?
Nah….still n camp fodder.

Steve, he was responding to this, which makes his response that much better, lol.
That’s frickin hilarious!
Omar’s ego can’t fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omar FN Sharif, he’s a legend aiight.
Watching other preseason games scoring like used to 13-10 kind of crap. I guess we’ll see what happens next week.
I expect a lot of back shoulder to Preston, Devante and Gesicki in the endzone. A throw RT struggled with.
After watching Preston W. highlights from college, comparing him to Randy Moss, he’s bigger, stronger, better hands, just doesn’t have the blazing speed. I think we have found a gem.
Williams allegedly shoved a woman, who identified herself as his girlfriend, and restrained her at one point by grabbing her arm while she was trying to leave an apartment the two shared, according to a Fort Collins police report. Williams was originally charged with harassment and tampering, both misdemeanors, with a domestic violence enhancement, court records show.
A protection order was issued in the case, and Williams was arrested again Oct. 18, 2017 for violating that order by placing “approximately 200” phone calls to the woman.
Williams pleaded guilty to the harassment charge and received a deferred sentence March 5, 2018, from Larimer County Court Judge Mary Joan Berenato. All other charges against him were dropped at that time.
Doesn’t seem that bad, it’s not like he hit her, surely nothing close to what Tyreek Hill did.
Forget Moss, he’s Megatron 2.0
I think Megatron is the most apt comp for Williams.
Not dreaming he will ever be that good, but that type is a good type for him to be for us.
We haven’t had that here since Charles Clay. (I know, but…you know?)
The thing about Cox the FB blocking that extra guy, that shows a mindset.
Whether it is instilled by Flo or was already in Cox, it’s good.
I think Cox was like that, and Flo said that is what i want in a FB
and Grier and his scout team went out and found a guy like that.
Also if you look at the angles and distance on that play,
the RB doesn’t score without the FB hitting that first guy.
Knocked him on his tail, too.
The defensive guy had fought off the block of the TE.
I think he was a safety or maybe a LB.
Number in the 40s, so he would’ve had the speed to get the RB down short.
Which is the other good thing. Cox pancaked a sure tackler,
and it barely slowed Cox down.
If that play had been from the 10,
Cox would’ve still been a viable blocker against that second guy in the EZ
who might’ve now been at like the 4 yd line, also a safety with a number in the 40s.
Sure he might not’ve surrendered and got out of the way so easiy.
(What DB wants to fight through a FB running full speed with the DB
as his target and only concern?)
but Cox had a bead on him.
Good stuff.
The block Cox made on the TD run was a strong block against a weakly balanced defender I believe. Similar to knocking a receiver on his ass that’s trying to tight wrope the sideline.
I dont want to take anything away from this block, because it was perfection, I just don’t think we can expect the same type of pancake the next time, when the defender is balanced and expecting the block.
that is true,
but if there is no FB out there, that guy recovers his balance and makes that tackle.
Even a rub on that guy slows him down enough to prevent him making the tackle.
The panake was just Cox having fun and sending a message.
Both good things. Especially in establishing Miami as a smashmouth team instead of a finesse team as we have ben in the past.
Back shoulder to Parker and Williams? yes we need that.
Both have a great “catch radius.”
But the ball still needs to come in as a catchable ball.
Stills said Rosen throws a real nice ball for the WR to snag.
Williams caught that long pass on the left sideline with one hand,
but the ball placement by Rosen was perfect. 35 yrds downfield and 28 yds out.
That is a long ass throw.
In defense of Omar,
When I first started with Omar in 2007-ish
he thought his job was telling us fans what he saw
up close from his privileged viewpoint.
That was awesome.
I think all the terrible coaching he has seen up close has made him jaded.
I think we fans also have arrived at the point where
we think we also could tell many of those coaches how to do their jobs.
Omar still does the best “play by play”!
I just can’t get past the other shit to read to him!
Omar is like everything else; we are polarized, and our current environment encourages we give or have a “take”, almost like being required to opine on everything. EVERYTHING. I weary of it.

Lol- no middle ground anymore. You must choose sides and decide where it fits in your political paradigm.
.. Then, forcefully blame the other “side” for the existence of the issue while simultaneously absolving your side for any and all responsibility of the conflict, just like in real life. Because we all know, all conflict is one-sided.
The only downside from game 1 is …………..we won.
Most good teams always lose in pre season and the bad teams win
I think this is sometimes actually (not sarcastically) true.
Some teams are experimenting so introspectively,
that they hardly even notice the score
other than as a stimulus to practicing situational football.
For us, I wanted to see several things worked on
that have pissed me off in recent years
and that might be signalling a change for the franchise.
I wanted to see no slow starts, no caving at end of half and game,
no auto-fail offensive playcalls, no chaos in defensive backfield,
no gaping holes in defensive line.
Plus i wanted to see us with a real HC on the sideline,
our young players actually showing development,
and our OC and DC interacting with their guys
as coaches should after a series ended.
Mission accomplished.
I dont agree, NE blew out the Lions. I think it depends on the team and what they’re trying to do, if your goal was to look at certain players and win and you lose, that’s not a good sign. Surely Atlanta’s intent wasn’t to lose the game, when they went for it on 4th and 9 at the end.
The clueless Atlanta announcers didn’t seem to figure out that their coach didn’t want to go into OT, that’s why he went for it, especially coming off of playing in the HOF.
Oh…… is it bash Omar hour again?
It’s always some type of “bash X” around here.
as for Rosen winning the starting job so we can see what we have to determine if we need a QB next year, I don’t think that’s the way it works.
I do believe Fitzpatrick has won the starting job and will be our QB game 1.
it was telling how limited his play was in the 1st preseason game.
if he plays all season and rosen rides the pine i doubt that has anything to do with us selecting a QB in 2020, if we were to select one he would have to compete in camp and beat out Rosen which is doubtful due to the fact that Rosen will have a year under his belt in this offense.
If Rosen were a true rookie and Fitz were an entrenched starter even if fading with age a la the Eli Manning thing in NY, then yes.
But Fitz is not a fading star. We don’t “owe” him for taking us to Super Bowls, or anything really. Plus We don’t have years or $millions invested in him that would be wasted.
Also we don’t have a viable play-off window we need to not waste. Wake is gone, and he was the only guy we had that i would’ve wanted to “hurry up and win one for.”
Jones, Stills, Alonso, pfft I can utilize them or let them go as needed.
Rosen might be our QB to lead us back to respectability.
We MUST know this by January, as it impacts our scouting and drafting process.
I think Rosen will be the starter on Day 1 as will Williams. I expect both will get some first team reps this week.
Let’s hope so, especially William’s. I think he’s more the reason we scored 34 than the new offensive system.
I’d like to see Grant running deep patterns, yeah he’s short, but he can jump. He could be the deep ball threat to replace Stills.
Jones, Stills and Alonzo should be trade bait.
agreed and I think they are that in Flores’s and Grier’s minds as well
btw someone up the page made a mistake.
Phel and David are not twins.
They are triplets with me as the third
who has been predicting a play-off caliber season this year.
By that I mean we will be in contention and even if we don’t make it,
it will be through losing a tie-breaker or some team backing in
due to injury in their division or something like that.
(Andrew Luck or Philip Rivers going down late in the year, for example, which lets a third team from their division get in instead of us, even though we are second in ours.)
Flores doesn’t want to sell the team on we’re trying to win every game, then go out and start Rosen, if Fitz is deserving of it. He’ll lose the locker room quick, if that happens.
He’s said the best players will play, but midway through and we’re 1-7 no one will get upset, if Rosen takes over.
Fitz was 2/5 for 20 and no TDs. like a 52 rating
It’s not time to acclaim Rosen as starter right now, but as soon as it is, it should be done so we can get him the max experience we can this year and also get the max on tape so we will know if he is the man going forward.
Other comparables, Alshon Jeffries, Brandon Marshall.
He seems more fluid and agile than those two, but maybe it’s just that he’s so young still.
There is nothing wrong with winning in the preseason, lol. There may be some truth in the idea that some bad teams might put more emphasis on the win while trying to enact a culture shift (we saw that here a few years ago). But good teams win in the preseason as often as they lose. Looking at wins or loses in the preseason is meaningless IMO.
As for Omar, I went to his timeline looking for information about the Dolphins, and all I found was self-aggrandizement, self-importance, and agenda. My own fault, I already knew I’d have to wade through that shit. That is what you get when you have a guy that legitimately thinks his job is to tell the coaches what to do. It’s kinda like people that genuinely think since they’ve ‘scouted’ players for years as a fan, and they predicted some guys successfully, they should be GMs, lol.
And finally, sorry Naples, as far as I’m aware, there is no old TV show called Bosom Triplets. 😉 I hope this doesn’t need to be said, but the way things go around here…I wasn’t putting down the idea of being playoff contenders or clowning anyone for rooting for that. I’m glad we have fans that continually stay optimistic. I think it says a lot about their mindset.
I simply found the idea of Phel and David paired up amusing, and Bosom Buddies came to mind. David riding his unicycle and Phel on his ten speed talking football or running along together jumping over puddles arguing bitcoin, lmao. It still cracks me up.
The humor was in the absurdity of the pairing combined with the cheesy 80s buddy stuff. It could just as easily have been Rob and David, or Mike and David, or any of the dozens feuds David has going, lol.
I am very pleased Rosen seems to be stepping up to make the most of this new opportunity. If he works out this off season could be one of our best in recent years
Was he sharing a cell with Jeffrey Epstein?
I don’t think he had anything on the Clinton’s

I do believe Fitzpatrick has won the starting job and will be our QB game 1.
———————
Right now Rosen is outplaying Fitzpatrick. He did so at final scrimmage in camp and in the first preseason game. If nothing changes Rosen is clearly the starter
I disagree, why do you let Fitz go out for one series and then let Rosen play almost the entire game? IMO it’s because you know what you have with Fitz and you know he will be your starter so you protect him from un-necessary exposure to avoid injury on your starting QB, I would assume Drake’s the starting tailback as well because they did the same with him. with Rosen you want to see if he can get up to speed so you give him extended playing time, at least that’s my take on the moves Flores made Thurs night.
True they know what they have in Fitz and they know it it is pretty limited. They challenged Rosen putting him in the no. 2 role and he is rising to the challenge. How do you tell the rest the team that if you out play the guy in front of you your reward you get to ride the pine?
you’re saying he’s outplaying Rosen, How do you know this info? did you read it in the herald? how do you know what’s in the mind of Flores?
I’m reading the tea leaves, going by what i saw in the game, Flores barely played Fitz and Fitz started the game.
that speaks volumes to me as to where the 2 guys stand.
if it was that close Fitz would have got extended playing time.
JMO.
thinking they will play Rosen so they know who to draft next year doesn’t seem like what a good HC would od.
i don’t think the QBs in next years draft will have any bearing on the depth chart at all this year. they will play who gives them the best chance to win.
when the seasons over they will evaluate the team and their position in the draft to determine their next moves.
I agree and that is why I think Rosen will be the starter.
Hulk sighting. Has he arranged for a flight to the Fest?

Fitz doesn’t need extended playing time. He is a long time journeyman. His upside is limited. It was heavily reported that Rosen out played Fitz in the last scrimmage and Rosen clearly played very well against the Falcons. We gave up a 2nd round pick for him. Rosen is going to be the starter
OL was a mess overall, but then maybe Rosen looked not so bad cause he was used to that.
All booked Stanger. Sent you an email
This take makes sense.
Rob, I recall one of the things you harped on a number of times last year was our offense was always breaking the huddle late, snapping late in the clock giving the defense all day to set up.
It’s not going to be that way under Flores. This philosophy bodes well discipline-wise. Flores places importance on running a smooth operation.
From Flores:
“I thought our operation, just in and out of the huddle. When you watched the tape, you see Atlanta had some trouble kind of getting lined up from time to time because we were in and out of the huddle pretty quickly,” said Flores.
“I liked the operation. From that standpoint, we can catch or keep people off guard and off-balance that way. I think that gives us an advantage, so I thought that was something that was good.”
Exactly!
That last play he bulldoed his man almost 5 yds downfield.
*bulldozed*
wouldn’t it be great if we had late round OL work out for a change!
It would be a welcome change. lol
Ledbetter and DeWayne Hendrix played so well that losing Woodard is not so bad.
Hendrix btw got 2 sacks i think and he is 6’4 290!!! That’s a big body for a DE.
more of a 3-4 type DE, but if he can generate pressure at that size wow
He played for Pitt so that is Big Time football (Marino, Dorsett, Fitzgerald).
Terrance Smith is a good player out of FSU.
He is the cousin of Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins out of Clemson,
where Smith’s dad also played WR.
He is available as he is coming off an Oct. knee injury, so good snag by Grier.
He had 4 sacks and 3 INTs in college.
I have been thinking Prince would get ahead of Mills sooner than later.
You might eventually see Dieter move to Center, Shaq Calhoun to LG and Davis back to RG so Prince can play RT.
I like Kilgore, but he is getting older by the day.
We’ll see what happens, but hard to plan for the future on such. Gonna be huge change-ups next year no matter what the line-up is this season.
Every human is getting older by the day.
LOL
kinda stupid to type that, huh?
but for an athlete, at a certain age, all of a sudden
it becomes a serious negative attribute.
I seem to be aging faster than that lately,
like I’m 5 years older than i was last year this time.
The video breakdowns are great.
Wyp – We did just about as good as you can on late RD defensive tackles, it would be great if we could hit on a late RD DT too
Oops, Wyo – Too much bourbon
Do you mean OT? Drunkie
Shoot, yeah, OT. Damn
I maintain and have contended that Fitz will start at QB because they will want Rosen to a few if not a handful of game tapes of Fitz playing. Study how he’s running the offense and see him in the situations real games will present.
a fair proposal, let him watch while standing next to the OC also.
“The Miami defense showed a variety of fronts and coverages. The 4-3 big nickel appears to be the “base” defense — they primarily operated out of that formation. The fronts/formations included 4-2-5 (big nickel), 4-3 under, 3-2-6 (dime) and the 3-3-5 bear looks.”
^ Wingfield
Lots of Bobby McCain as a very deep safety early on, I saw a lot of 8-2-1.
Naples, didn’t Hendrix have 3 sacks?
I think the third one was just a TFL, not technically a sack, but yeah, he really looks good.
The QB just made it just past the LOS.
Yes that is correct, my bad, I was looking at a different play, so that is really FOUR great plays he made. The QB gained like half a yard, so technically that one was not a sack. Good call Steve.
I dont care who starts. Just win games.
I agree with that
So now you guys are Raidah’s Fans🤔
“Just win baby”

Funny how that happens when you have the right coaches, that don’t accept slacking off.
I’m not getting into all that!
but we have drafted and developed for shit the last few (25) years on the Oline! 😦
Okay got it on Hendrix – he was very active and productive.
We will see plenty of Rosen this season I’m sure, Fitz is fun to watch until he’s not lol
Why wouldn’t the NFL grandfather in the helmet that Antonio Brown wants to wear? He’d have to sign something saying he understands the risks found with this kind of helmet. I don’t get it.
What seems to be retarded is why his agent doesn’t tell him he can’t fight it.
but how about the risk to other players? wearing one of those old hammer helmets with no give can produce a devastating CTE hit!
we will be scrimmaging against the bucs tues and wed.
yes Cav,
getting in and out of the huddle shows discipline, the offense knows what they want to do so they should know what steps to take prior to the play whereas the D has to react.
breaking the huddle, getting to the LOS and getting the play off quickly gives the offense an edge.
even if they have plays where they don’t snap it right away it looks as if they are in a hurry and the D may jump the gun as part of having to go early on previous plays
IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS.
What killed me with RT was he’d get to the line quick at times, then wait for the D to setup. Just go, you don’t need to know what D they’re showing, if they aren’t ready.
