The 2019 season for the Miami Dolphins is about to start for real this coming Sunday at 1PM. Both teams have had some radical makeovers, neither team is particularly recognizable from the teams that played last season. Both long time starting QB’s are playing for other AFC teams, Ryan Tannehill for Tennessee and Joe Flacco for Denver. Also gone from the Ravens are Terrell Suggs, C.J. Mosely, Eric Weddle and Michael Crabtree. Gone from the Dolphins are Laremy Tunsil, Cam Wake, Kiko Alonso and Kenny Stills.
The Dolphins have officially made the change to a 3-4 base defense. After jettisoning most recently DE Tank Carradine, newly acquired DT John Jenkins will line up at LDE, Davon Godchaux at NT and rookie Christian Wilkins at RDE. Sam Eguavoen at LOLB, Raekwon McMillan at LILB and Jerome Baker at RILB with and Charles Harris at ROLB. Xavien Howard and Eric Rowe are the starting CB’s with the safeties being Reshad Jones and Bobby McCain. That different enough for ya?!?!
On offense, recently traded for LT Julie’n Davenport makes his first start as a Miami Dolphin. Next to him at LG is rookie Michael Deiter. Veteran Daniel Kilgore starts at C with rookie Shaq Calhoun starting at RG. Jesse Davis will be the starter at RT. WR’s DeVante Parker and Jakeem Grant will be on the outside with Albert Wilson in the slot. Mike Gesicki will be the starting TE. Kenyan Drake will be the starting RB along with Kalen Ballage as the backup but I expect both backs to get to a similar workload. Mark Walton, Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin will also get a sprinkle of touches, but more than likely we’ll only put 4 backs on the game day roster and that will include FB Chandler Cox.
It will be interesting to see how this young OL fares against the Ravens D. I’m not expecting a lot, it could be ugly at times.I’m not especially interested in watching QB Ryan Fitzpatric play, although hopefully Fitzmagic shows up on Sunday. Can DeVante Parker have a strong start? Probably not as I expect a strong dose of the run game. I don’t know if either Drake or Ballage will find much room but I expect close to 30 carries or more for us.
On defense I’m curious to see how all the parts work in the 3-4 base. Odd that Jenkins isn’t at the nose and Godchaux at DE. Hopefully we can generate some pass rush with some well disguised blitzes and keep the Ravens guessing as to where the rush is coming from. Harbaugh is an excellent coach and the Ravens a very disciplined team. We’ve seen the Ravens shred us for years, maybe the guys on the field for us will do better as most of them weren’t a part of that.
In summation, I just want us to look prepared, and I want us to be aggressive on defense. I expect a conservative game plan on offense to keep us in this game. Coach Flo won’t be caught sitting at the end of the bench by himself drawing up plays on his tablet during the game. I expect a low scoring affair, not too unlike what we saw last night from Chicago and Green Bay.

Our little back and forth started when you said it looks like the Raiders equivalent of Aponte found out maybe they couldn’t void the guaranteed money. I said nothing suggests that. And it still doesn’t since he asked for his release when he found out he was on a week to week, and then they released him, lol.

Two totally different situations, one has nothing to do with the other. Tunsil will be looking for a deal that pays him Davis’ entire contract per year. The offer Houston gave us was too good to pass on. Tunsil has never been all pro or made a pro bowl yet we received two 1’s and a 2nd for him. Yes Stills was involved in the trade but that offer was mostly for Tunsil.
I don’t think they are the unrelated. We destroyed our line. We have tons of cap room to pay Tunsil and then some. I don’t think the trade was the windfall everyone thinks it was. We are likely looking at a late first and second rounder this year and next. We gave up Stills and we gave up later round pics. Imo not a great trade

To our F-MU lawyers: don’t assume what ya don’t know. Until ya read the fine print in AB’s contract with the Raiders, ya don’t know what ya don’t know. There will be lawyers… on both sides.
The NFL Player’s Association will get involved, the NFL (obviously) will get involved, the teams impacted by this mess will get involved, personal lawyers will get involved, and much of this will be impacted by the last CBA ratified.

Just like I’ve done with all my sports teams when they go young and rebuild, it’s all about watching the young players hoping they progress which makes the team get better. Then continue to build on it. All this gloom and doom is silly. This had to happen. We can’t keep rolling with the old guard. This team has a chance to be pretty good next year if a few things pan out and we acquire some difference makers in the offseason. I expect there to be 15-20 new players next year.

We knew this when Gase and Tannenbaum were fired, Grier was promoted as top dog personnel guy, and Ross saying if we have to take a step back for a couple of years to be good for years to come, that’s what we’re going to do. Grier hires his coach on the same page in Flores and this is what “Blow It Up” looks like.

You get other senses involved like they must the audience or vibrate the seats, sometime blast hot air. Piggy listed some of the stuff in a post below
It was cool
The seats shake
There are odors (nothing 🐖💨 worthy)
The lights flicker
The seat actually feels like it is kicking you some times
There is even spray mist (which you can shut off)
It’s wild – it’s a pretty immersive experience
Especially a horror movie
And IT2 was pretty cool
Bill Hader is in it and he’s awesome
I’ll have to see what theater has it in 4d around here. Does sound fun

D, I had to finish watching before posting. What a shootout between 2 really good QB prospects. The way the game started, I was like Meh. Then Burrow caught fire and Ehlinger followed suit. The game ended up being amazing to watch. I mentioned earlier if Burrow keeps this up, he is going to have a lot of 1st round talk.
Its college, the DBs just play not to get beat deep. Those Texas DBs were no match for the LSU WRs. Pitch and catch, any college QB that’s a little accurate can have great success.
No shit it’s college. They don’t go from high school to the NFL. You don’t evaluate them on just their accuracy anyway.
