Among so much losing, folks we have a Winner!
The winner of this years prestigious honor of being the FMU’s Bye Week Bi-Babe is the beautiful Kristen Stewart.

“I have fully been told, ‘If you just like do yourself a favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie. I don’t want to work with people like that.” –
Kristen Stewart – https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/kristen-stewart-bisexual-lgbt-marvel-mcu-harpers-bazaar-interview-sexuality-a9089461.html

Clearly Robert Pattinson turned her to girls.
Bye week. Bye players, bye wins, bye respectability, bye competitiveness. here we sit with four games played and the Dolphins are the joke of the league. Scoring a measly 26 points while giving up an astonishing 163 points in the four games. To put that in perspective the next closest team to the Dolphins is the Redskins at 118 points, wow.
So we have draft picks, cap space and hope and that’s about it. Well we have Xavien Howard too, but who else is honestly safe going forward. Who do we have to build on? The O-line is once again a MASH unit although Michael Dieter
appears to be a piece to build on. Son is intrigued by Evan Boehm. Good luck naming another absolute building block for the offense. Who else on the Defense then? Wilkins of course along with Baker and McMillan. Five building blocks for the future with two of them being rookies. We have plenty of guys who show potential but so far that’s all it is. So with 12 games left in a season that’s been pushed aside already, which guys are in for the long haul? Which guys can become building blocks going forward, face it there will be upwards of 35 jobs up for grabs next off season. We have tons of cap space and tons of draft picks.
Hope. Y’all are lifers just like me. As fans all we can do and have is hope, Hope Rosen works out. Hope trading Tunsil doesn’t bite our ass. Hope setting up an environment where a Minkah Fitzpatrick demands a trade is ok.
Hope letting so many vets walk instead of building on them is alright. Hope Grier and his staff can put together an amazing draft. Hope Coach Flores and his staff can walk the walk and deliver on a system that works, that players buy into and take responsibility for. Hope we see some playoff games as we continue to age. Hope a once proud franchise can get back to being respected and feared. Hope the next 12 games offer some glimmer of light and expectation. Hope Mostly that Grier doesn’t fuck this up as bad as Ireland did.
“You’re not confused if you’re bisexual. It’s not confusing at all. For me, it’s quite the opposite.” _Kristen Stewart
I’ve yet to have a game broadcast local so I’ve been to the bars to watch the games. Its tough to really focus and the looks I get would ordinarily piss me off but there’s nothing I can say or do when we’re down by 20 or more and it’s ugly. Dolphin gear on that I can’t get home fast enough to tear off. I’m doing my part in an ugly situation, I’m being a loyal fan, I pretend to smile when I say “but wait til next year”, yada yada bullshit. Where’s the girl?

Ahhh!
Hope Y’all, hope
Attempts to contact Ms, Stewart have not been answered (imagine that) but our sincere gratitude and congratulations go out to this years winner.

Go Dolphins, see you at the Fest

First! Alright, Kristen Stewart!! She always looks sad to me, maybe because she can’t decide whether it’s hairpie or balls across the nose. lol
She went for glittery vampires to girl on girl
It’s a natural progression
Off topic
I just noticed one of the strangest death scenes in movies
Everyone has seen Commando right?
Remember when he kills Sally?
“Ooh la la”
Really?
Go to 1:30 to see what I mean
Lol
“She always looks sad to me”
Mike, that’s why she’s perfect for 0-4
JUST GOT MY October 7 issue of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED in the mail. An article entitled “The Trouble With Tanking” caught my eye immediately because it was overlayed on a picture of frustrated, pissed-off Dolphin fans at Hard Head Stadium!!! Will gutting the roster to obtain large numbers of future draft picks actually work in the NFL? The author, Jenny Vrentas, carefully presents both sides of this issue.
First, she looks at 4 franchises that “Tanked” and how it worked out for them. Two franchises from the NBA, the ’03 Cavaliers and the ’14 76ers, garnered SOME success but no titles. The 2011-2014 Astros and the 2012-2014 Cubs each rebounded from multiple 100-loss seasons to win a World Series. However, to be fair, each organization had terrific people doing the player selections during the years AFTER the 100 loss seasons. She went on to say that “Baseball can be boiled down to a series of individual battles, making it far less reliant on elusive team chemistry than football. NFL rosters also are twice as big asin MLB and more than three times as large as the NBA, and thus one player—even a quarterback—makes far less of an impact.”
In 2016, an associate professor of economics at Stonehill College, Akira Motomura, published an article in the JOURNAL OF SPORTS ECONOMICS studying the success of tanking in the NBA over an 18 year period. The results surprised this professor. Basically, he proved that “Just getting more picks and accumulating higher picks by being bad doesn’t seem to help by itself—UNLESS YOU MAKE GOOD USE OF THOSE PICKS,” (emphasis mine). It’s the QUALITY of those picks, and the QUALITY OF THOSE DOING THE PICKING that determines the success of any strategy. And those who made bad picks in prior years were more prone to making poor selections when they had more picks to make via previous tanking.
Many will remember Jimmy Johnson trading Herschel Walker for a bushel of draft picks soon after he took over in Dallas. Johnson maintains that becaquse HE had a key role in using that “bushel of draft picks, the drafts were BETTER QUALITY. To RE-PROVE his point, JJ, who succeeded Don Shula, drafted Four Pro Bowlers from ’96 to ’99, including HOFer Jason Taylor. It’s NOT a coincidence that the Dolphins were frequent visitors to the NFL Playoffs in the ’90’s thru December of 2000.
MIAMI has a recent history of BAD PEOPLE doing the picking. Just look at the history of our draft picks and free agent selections over the last 10 years. Letting some of THE SAME PEOPLE use these extra picks in the future is a PROVEN RECIPE FOR FAILURE, and this SI article proves that point. WE DESPARATELY need NEW and BETTER PEOPLE TO DO THE PICKING. Sticking with the same proven losers JUST WON’T WORK!!!
OD — think you just have to tighten your seatbelt and hope for the best. One thing about opting for this total rebuild is that it gave the FO and coach a whole lot of job security. Grier or Flores is gonna have to call up Ross to tell him how much they hate Jews to get fired before the end of year 3 of this.
NEITHER GRIER NOR FLORES are that stupid. However, a distressingly high number of persons ARE that stupid. I got my start in numismatics from a wonderful Jewish man and his equally wonderful wife who took me under their wings at age 12 and honed my skills so that I was able to work coin shows at a very high level before my 13th birthday. NOW, I work for yet another wonderful Jewish husband and wife team who have given me the chance of a lifetime to be the senior grader/authenticator at one of the four major American grading services. They even moved the company from the Denver area to Tampa Bay in an attempt to attract me to their business!! –I’ve been with this company for over a decade (after 18 years with a competing company) and I feel like it was the best move I ever made.
——-
NOW, Young Stanger, your advice that I “tighten my seat belt” and accept the status quo is neither the BEST nor the ONLY option available at this time. Ross’s previous decision to eventually sell the team to Mr. Beal CLEARLY would be an act in the best interests of the team AND ITS REMAINING FANS!!
i HOPE Mr. Ross chooses the upcoming off season as the time to activate this previously agreed to option because, when it comes to running a franchise, Mr. Ross has proven he is NOT the best man for the job.
Ross could sell the team too. Beale does work for Ross though. You’ve been a little critical of his ability to select the right people in the past.
Who gets actual hard copy anything anymore? Oh wait…
It’s always the quality of the pick….whether you have 1 or 3. The point is that if you have 3, you have more chances to get it right. I’m not sure we can say Grier is good or bad because none of us really know what role he played in our past picks. If Grier is now “the guy” and is fully responsible for picks, we can start evaluating what he does. Still, I’d rather have more chances to hit on players. Give me more picks. After we build this team and, hopefully, get good, we will need to be more precise with fewer picks. Now, we need a lot of better players.
***
Go Hawks!
#1 GRIER SUCKS in my opinion, based on his record. I don’t NEED 2-3 more failed drafts to prove what is obvious to me. The fact that we will have MORE picks only gives the ROSS-GRIER TEAM more chances to make poor choices, per the research done in that SI article. On page 44 of this SI article, Jimmy Johnson says “Some teams have high draft picks every year, and yet they stay at the bottom. … He points to the Eric Dickerson trade in 1987, in which the Rams sent the All-Pro running back to Indianapolis for a package that included 3 first round and 3 second round picks. The Rams selected 28 players (28 PLAYERS) over the next two drafts—-NONE of whom made a Pro Bowl with the Rams.” Johnson then went on to document a similar trade by the Rams that netted 8 MORE PICKS in 2012, only one of which lasted with the Rams for more than 5 seasons. “Getting picks is NOT the answer,” Johnson says. “Picking the right players, that’s the answer.”
DUMMIES DON’T BECOME DRAFT EINSTEINS !!!
No one will dispute that picking the right players is the key. Why I hate all those “but we could have taken this player instead comments” unless that person actually was rooting for that player to be the selection at the time. Make me the GM of any team in the 2017 draft and let me make my selections now and I’ll give you the best draft of 2017. And I don’t even watch college football.
ANOTHER STORY in the current issue of SI also caught my eye. It was their annual NHL Preview article which, in the end, predicted that the Tampa Bay Lightning would avenge last season’s epic playoff collapse by winning their second Stanley Cup this season. They also referenced the fact that the Calgary Flames, the #1 seed in the Western Conference, was also ousted last season by the #8 seed in the first round of the playoffs. I believe this is the ONLY TIME since the NHL expanded to two conferences, that BOTH top seeds were upset in the first playoff round. It will be a VERY interesting season, indeed!
————————-
ONE THING THAT WON’T CHANGE is the fact that Tampa’s NHL team WILL CONTINUE TO OUT-DRAW ITS MLB TEAM in terms of ticket sales and fannies in the seats by a wide margin. Tropicana Field, the home of the Rays, has over 35,000 capacity. I expect about 25,000 to show up for games 3 and 4 at “The Trop,” in a few days. And a considerable number of those fans will be wearing HOUSTON regalia!! The ONLY THING that will save this franchise is a move to the Tampa side of Tampa Bay.
Damn Son — I was sure it was gonna be Miley Cyrus based on recent events. But great to see your on the spot thoughts and takes in the top page. And good timing after Friday Night Music….. and people used to say memes slowed the place down.
All we can have is hope these days. If anything beating the Skins at the Fest will make the rest of the season less interesting. Remember how exciting it was to watch Camarillo score that long TD to beat the Ravens and stop us from throwing a donut?
Interesting take, Son.
LOL @ Mike
OD,
It’s cool if you have your mind made up on Grier. I don’t. Johnson made a ton of bad picks in his career. In fact, the way he began to build his SB team in Dallas was trading away a top flight talent in a big trade that got him a lot of extra picks. Sound familiar? Now, we’ll see if Grier can get some of those picks right. If he doesn’t, he won’t be around much longer anyway.
RANDY: YOU mis-read the article or you didn’t read it. JJ did a great job of picking and THAT’s WHY the COWBOYS went from last place to winning Super Bowls during his years in Dallas. His first pick was HOF QB Troy Aikman. He also CORRECTLY points out another franchise which received 3 first round picks and 3 second round picks AND GOT SQUAT IN RETURN!!
JIMMY JOHNSON has made his case for “The Quality of the Picker.” He not only “talked the talk: He walked the Walk.”
—————
THAT SAID, i HOPE you ARE RIGHT AND i am wrong. i LIKELY DON’T have another 10 years to wait for new, improved ownership to get us to another Super Bowl. I believe that several more years of the ROSS-GRIER TEAM will bring us several more years of frustration. AT LEAST, with Mr. Beal calling the shots, we’ll have a different perspective on how to run a football franchise.
Watching Jordan Love and he looks pretty good
And he throws an interception…
They might do some trading, but the Dolphins have never taken 3 players in the first round before. They’ve taken two players in the first twice in team history.
1976: Larry Gordon (#17) and Kim Bokamper (#19)
1989: Sammie Smith (#9) and Loius Oliver (#25)
Without even going into all the other picks…… never gone into a draft as stocked as will be in 2020.
They took Marco Coleman and Troy Vincent in the first round too
A righteous fact check and one that looks better too.
1992: Troy Vincent (7) and Marco Coleman (12).
There’s reportedly scouts at the iowa Michigan game today
espenesa, Wirfs and Jackson are all top prospects
Piggy,
And there are another handful of guys in the IOWA/Mich game who will be drafted too. I’m sure there are scouts there from lots of teams. Some nice matchups between highly rated guys too.
OD,
I know. Johnson got several of his early picks correct. But, look at his whole career, and you’ll see plenty of terrible picks. Yes, he got picks right, but he also had lots of them. For instance, in his 1990 draft he missed on every pick but Emmitt Smith. Sure, Smith was a hit, but he missed on 4 out of 5 picks….20% success. In ‘91 he had 18 picks, but he missed on a bunch of them. Lucky for him he had 18 fricking picks! Johnson is an arrogant blowhard, and the one thing he always does is try to make it sound like he is amazing and others suck. Lol
****
It’s a no brainer to say you need to hit on your picks. Johnson also had a whole lot of extra picks to get it right.
Piggy, can’t see the Utah State/LSU game. How is LSU QB Joe Burrow looking?
Tomorrow we need:
Ravens to beat Steelers
Falcons to beat Texans
Broncos to beat the Chargers
Bengals to beat Cardinals
Jets to beat Eagles
and
Redskins to beat Patriots (LOL)
Iowa/Mich game I am only interested in how the big uglies are doing
Kristen Stewart makes Hulk not angry
BBM,
Iowa’s OL has played like shit today. Worst performance I’ve seen in a long time.
Yeah, I’ve got that game on. I hate Michigan!
I had to do a “Tradypants” draft cause Rock did one. LOL
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 4 (DEN): Chase Young, DE/OLB, Ohio State (A)
Round 1 Pick 7: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia (A)
Round 1 Pick 31 (S.F.): Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia (A+)
Round 2 Pick 2 (CINN): Anfernee Jennings, OLB/DE, Alabama (B+)
Round 2 Pick 3 (IND): Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin (A-)
Round 2 Pick 4 (DEN): TJ McCoy, C, Louisville (B+)
Round 2 Pick 29: Jacob Phillips, ILB/OLB, LSU (B+)
Round 3 Pick 1: AJ Terrell, CB, Clemson (A)
Round 3 Pick 2 (CINN): Alaric Jackson, OT, Iowa (A-)
Round 3 Pick 4 (DEN): Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama (B)
Round 3 Pick 10 (IND): Ben Bredeson, OG, Michigan (A)
Round 4 Pick 15: Alohi Gilman, FS/SS, Notre Dame (A)
Round 4 Pick 31 (S.F.): Raequan Williams, DT, Michigan State (A)
Round 5 Pick 6: Julian Blackmon, CB, Utah (B+)
Round 6 Pick 1: Tyler Johnson, WR, Minnesota (A+)
Round 6 Pick 23: Reggie Floyd, FS/SS, Virginia Tech (A)
Round 7 Pick 32: Tedarrell Slaton, DT, Florida (A+)
The key to this season is develop as many young players as possible within the systems, find out who will be part of the core moving forward and then add as much premium talent as we can through FA and the draft to take the team to another level. Right now I don’t think we’re a cohesive team, more of a bunch of players trying to find their way.

M – I kinda like the Disturbed version better. Both good, Disturbed is just a little more edgy.
————–
I very much like both versions in terms of the music, finding myself liking one more than the other depending on my mood (laid back vs amped up). As for the message, it’s a mixed bag for me (political). Both videos are genius in their own rights.
By the way, good call on “One Night In Bangkok”. I posted that video here a few weeks ago for Rhino, being he loves chess. That song is one of my faves from the 80s.
Wyoming, thanks for the video’s. Joe Burrow is starting to grow on me more and more.
Don’t get all heartbroken when he actually plays a team with on par talent!
NFL put together a list of the 100 greatest games ever, even with a nod to playoff ones. Dolphins were in 11 of them. Wonder how many of them OD was at.
#100: 1982 AFC Championship vs. New York Jets (Mud Bowl)
#94: 1982 Week 14 vs. New England Patriots (Snowplow Game)
#91: 1986 Week 3 vs. New York Jets (Ken O’Brien vs. Dan Marino shootout)
#83: 1994 Week 13 vs. New York Jets (Marino’s fake spike)
#79: 1985 AFC Divisional Playoff vs. Cleveland Browns (Marino’s 18 point comeback)
#73: 1983 Super Bowl XVII vs. Washington Redskins
#43: 2000 Week 8 vs. New York Jets (Monday Night Miracle)
#29: 1985 Week 13 vs. Chicago Bears (Dolphins deny Chicago a perfect season)
#23: 1974 AFC Divisional Playoff vs. Oakland Raiders (Sea of Hands Game)
#18: 1971 AFC Divisional Playoff vs. Kansas City Chiefs (NFL’s longest game)
#4: 1981 AFC Divisional Playoff vs. San Diego Chargers (Epic in Miami)
Should have included the 1994 season opener against Pats. Marino’s return game. That was best game I ever saw
Great game!!!! Marino is back game. 🙂
Anybody here into modern violin music?
If so, listen to the “Ahn Trio”. Saw them in concert, live… WOW! Here’s another example… her name is Lili Haydn…
Like me in church, the Florida back just ripped a big one. 90+ yards
Here’s another one from Lili Haydn…
Another one from Lili…
And of course, the MAN who discovered Lili, back in ’99…
M13, I have always loved string instruments and I was turned onto fusion violin playing back in the mid 80’s. My guitar style was developed trying to play like a violin at times. Here was my major influence of violin to the guitar.
Nice! And actually, same here. Though, I’m a keyboardist. As such, I replicate the violin sound via stings on the keyboard. My brother and I are actually working with a violinist right now, and we hope she can develop. Man… she is VERY good at the violin.
*strings on the keyboard
Also, Tim… I’m VERY happy with the auto-harp I’d purchased a couple years ago. Man, it’s such a sweet and natural sound.
I played plenty of strings on the keys. This record I posted helped me be the guitarist I became. It taught me how to use space within notes even with up tempos. The best at that was Miles Davis.

—————
YAH! Miles MF’n Davis was NICE!
Miles was one of a kind. He created an atmosphere of playing less. David Gilmour – guitarist/vocalist of Pink Floyd did the same thing. For me it was always Yin and Yang. You could play fast or slow or anywhere in between and make wonderful sounds that is music. 🙂
See… you ROCK, man! 🙂
Hey, Tim…
A couple of weeks ago, we were discussing some OLD school R&B/blues singers. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and the like. Now, I realize you don’t dig rap as I do… but 2Pac really recognized the old artists with this song, man…
This Trump economy is killing the bail bond business. Everybody working, less people stealing. Less couples fighting over finances = less domestic battery cases. Damn it’s slow today. LOL
LOL — Idle hands are the devil’s workshop, but don’t worry. Unless you aren’t covering the late shift….. people will be getting going in the bars soon enough.
The unsung hero of jazz and contemporary singing. The female Louis Armstrong. 🙂
M13,
I know nothing about music. I love violin music too. I also really enjoy the 2 cellos. They are just fun to listen to and do really cool takes on rock songs. I’d like to see them in concert.
Randy, you really don’t need to know anything about music, seriously. So long as one/you enjoys listening to as much, that’s the key, man! 😉
The (modern) artist creates in order to find those who enjoy the creation of as much.
And for instance, I’ll make a song (thanks to your feedback!), to cater to your listening pleasure. That’s how the industry goes, man.
BBM,
If you were in Michigan today. You could have arrested 5 dudes for impersonating an offensive line for about 3 hours.
M13,
I agree. I just meant I can’t talk about the technical aspects of what musicians are doing. I just know what I like. You and Tim seem to have a ton of musical knowledge. I have no idea what you guys are saying sometimes. Lol
It’s all good, my friend. I respect ya!
Jalen Hurts might not be a bad acquisition
Bi-babe looks dirty. I like dirty.
M – My son is a music major at William and Mary. Plays viola and piano. I totally dig classic instrument fusion.
Nice!
Music is the one thing that connects every human.
Because we are all vibrational, wave like beings. Harmonic vs discordant music impacts these connections.
RIP Ginger Baker. One of the best rock drummers of all time
Oh wow! RIP, indeed he was.
It’s game day bi….oh wait a minute
YOUNG STANGER: I was at 5 of those 11 Dolphins games in the Top 100: TWO I( had to miss because of my job (coin conventions are held on weekends). My Top 2 were The Epic playoff game vs. the Chargers and the ultra-noisy Bears game in 1985. AS U KNOW, I STILL HAVE my hat which I wear to every Fins game from SB XVII. I HAVE NOT seen another one of those since the early 1990’s in any stadium.
I wasn’t at a single one…… and yeah that makes me jealous. Chargers game is hands down overall (what happened and what was at stake) for me the single most exciting game have ever watched the Dolphins play. Guess that explains why came in #4. Funny how can say that about a loss.

We will find out over the next 3 of 4 games.
Next Saturday night against the Ball Hawks of UF.
Oct 26 against Auburn
and
Nov 9 at Alabama
Last year he was “meh”, we will see these next 4 games. Seems the light may have come on for him. He looked real good against Texas. We will see though.
Again, today we need:
Ravens to beat Steelers
Falcons to beat Texans
Broncos to beat the Chargers
Bengals to beat Cardinals
Jets to beat Eagles
and
Redskins to beat Patriots (LOL)

—————-
Good for your son, as W&M is a really good school… along with the ability to play the viola and piano.
The vast majority of my music consists of keys and strings… that’s my forte. I, too, really dig classic instrument fusion. I just prefer using a drum machine to live drums for phatter beats.
I can tell you have decent taste is music, Phelon. And best of luck to your son.
Miami Dolphins can’t win as other teams start to shed rosters
by Brian Miller 2 hours ago
National media believes that the Miami Dolphins should be investigated but other teams are smart for doing the same thing.
When it comes to the Miami Dolphins, the national media can’t stand them. There are many reasons why. This year when Miami began trading away players, they called for an investigation. A look into tanking despite the fact that Miami was simply trying to rebuild a mediocre to average team for the last two decades.
Now those same media types are proving once again that they are nothing more than hypocrites as other teams look to unload top talent ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline.
According to a recent report by Jason La Canfora, the John Elway led Denver Broncos are ready to purge their roster ahead of the deadline and even players like Von Miller are not exempt. What? Another team may be tanking the season after only four weeks? Another team may be trying to acquire draft capital in an effort to change the direction of their franchise?
Hypocrites!
Many in the media are calling the idea “smart” given the fact that Denver is winless. The Bengals are also considering making moves to send talent away in the hopes of getting the team turned around. The commonality of the two? New head coaches with different visions from previous regimes. The difference between the Dolphins and those two? Miami also has a general manager that for the first time is making decisions on his own. Unlike Denver and Cincinnati who have the same guys in charge.
The Dolphins made the smart decision to change things up before the season began while the trades were at a premium. These teams may be dumping talent and if they do then they too are just as guilty as the Dolphins are or at least should be in the eyes of the media.
Miami isn’t trying to “tank for Tua”. That too is a media driven narrative that fans have embraced. The reality is Miami is trying to evaluate talent ahead of next season when they will have a salary cap that is far more manageable and will be able to add young veterans to their roster in free agency and enough draft picks to control the first two rounds of next years draft.
The Dolphins are taking their knocks now but that is bad for the NFL yet it is o.k. for other teams to do the same. Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised. Many of these “media” guys are the same ones that cast votes for the Hall of Fame that defend Brian Urlacher as a first ballot HOF member and still shun Zach Thomas, Richmond Webb, and Bob Kuechenberg.

Fucking Media, now our FO has a little tiny taste of how Trump feels. LOL
Ranking the Dolphins’ options at quarterback for 2020
Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports
By: Kyle Crabbs | 5 hours ago
There are as many as six hopeful quarterbacks in the upcoming NFL Draft who hope to hear their names called in the 1st-round. There is also one quarterback already on the Dolphins who would like Miami to reconsider their stance as being leaders in the clubhouse for a new franchise quarterback. If putting them under the microscope through the perspective of being solutions at this point in time (much will change, rest assured) — what would it look like? How attractive would each option be?
We’re here to find out. Here’s how we’d currently rank each of the prominent options for the Miami Dolphins’ quarterback position in 2020.
1.. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama Crimson Tide
Tagovailoa will have his questions — predominantly how easy can the transition to the pro level be if the college game is so…easy? The Tide are blowing people out left and right, with many citing the ease in which the Tide’s receivers chew up yards after the catch as a negative. But here’s the thing — isn’t that also how the Patriots offense has operated with Chad O’Shea (offensive coordinator) and Jerry Schuplinski (QBs coach) in years past?
Tagovailoa makes quick decisions and has an elite feel for unaccounted pass rushers — plus the ability to make them miss. That’s the divider between him and everyone in the field — plus his quick, confidence decision making process will serve as a magnet for the Dolphins.
2. Josh Rosen, Miami Dolphins
As the saying goes, “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.” Let’s not forget Josh Rosen is still a former top-10 overall pick who required significant coaching and on-boarding in order to reach competency in the Dolphins offense before the snap. He’s played well in two games as the starter for the Dolphins — having thrown a lot of pretty balls that should’ve been caught but weren’t for reasons outside of his control.
Put the stats aside — Rosen’s Dolphins are dropping 9.3% of their targets, Rosen is pressured on over 40% of his drop backs and the team has dropped at least 5 touchdowns on him in 2.5 games. If the Dolphins were to miss out of Tagovailoa, as of right now their best option looks to be sticking with Rosen. Would the team actually do that? Who knows. Rosen’s next 12 games may have a lot to say about that.
3. Justin Herbert, Oregon Ducks
It has been reported that the Dolphins liked two quarterbacks out of the 2018 NFL Draft before everything went down that April — Baker Mayfield, who went 1st overall, and Josh Allen — who went 7th to the Buffalo Bills in a trade-up. Herbert is a better passer than Allen and offers similar physical skills. He also runs an offense at Oregon that seems to inhibit his abilities a fair amount — but if the Dolphins liked Allen, they’re sure to like Herbert, too.
Herbert isn’t as calm under pressure as Tagovailoa, he still makes some plays in that area but he’s not as quick twitch to shake pass rushers and he loses notable accuracy when he’s forced off script.
4. Jake Fromm, Georgia Bulldogs
If the Dolphins want a quick decision maker, they’ve found him in Jake Fromm. Fromm is a cerebral passer who excels in finding the simple, easy target and taking what the defense gives him.
The downside? The physical tools are pretty vanilla — he doesn’t have a great arm and he’s not overly quick or mobile. Which begs the question: what is the ceiling with a guy like Fromm? Not high enough to catapult him higher on this list, for starters.
5. Joe Burrow, LSU Tigers
Perhaps the biggest surprise to the start of the college football season, Burrow has thrived with a new offense with the Tigers this season. Burrow has made big plays down the field, he’s creating explosive plays, extending things with his legs — all very exciting. What’s the downside? The sample size is small.
That hasn’t stopped the NFL before, but Burrow will need to finish strong this season in order to make the statement that he’s officially arrived. Bonus points to Burrow for being someone the Dolphins could work with hands on at the 2020 Reese’s Senior Bowl. The Dolphins staff are leaders in the clubhouse to be invited to coach one of the two all-star teams.
6. Jordan Love, Utah State
Love had a train wreck showing against the LSU Tigers yesterday — which probably could have been seen coming from a mile away. Love has phenomenal physical tools. He’s not quite as big, strong or fast as Buffalo QB Josh Allen — but he’s of a similar mold. The raw potential oozes on film — but the Dolphins can’t really afford to target a project quarterback as the face of the franchise and the crown jewel coming away from a tanked 2019 season.
7. Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma
Perhaps the second biggest surprise to the start of the college football season! Hurts is thriving under Lincoln Riley in Norman — but this isn’t the kind of offense that the Dolphins implement and, like Burrow, Hurts’ rousing success comes from a small sample size. He was a winner as the starter at Alabama — but he was a very different player in that offense, too. Not the kind you’d want to invest highly in.
Hurts has upward mobility on this list — but he’s never going to be the best scheme fit for Miami’s offense relative to the one he’s running and thriving in.
Nice articles there BBMike
^
Really good game going on between the Ravens and Stealers* right now.
Go Bucs
Go Ravens
Go Falcons
Get us higher picks!
BBM — Brain Miller who wrote the article about how other teams are tanking is a pretty good dude. Never met him, but he created PhinPhanatic while he was a paramedic living in the DC area where was from. Also tried to start a DC Phins fan blog in our area, but it crashed and burned. I was like one of say ten regular posters.
Was in one of the FF leagues he ran on PhinPhanatic for like 8 years. Even if wasn’t a regular begged my way in with the old connection.
Then Fansided came along around and created the network of fansites for each team by buying the top ones out there. Not sure how much they paid him for that, but after some real more professional writers came in. He still does it but is clearly not the top one running the place.
But now he does it full time far as can tell and right after the sale all the FF leagues were over and done. Talk about the wet dream of a guy who sets up a fansite.
Piggy – Where did you decide to stay this year? Sheldon again or M-ville?
Didn’t realize Redskins playing Colt McCoy today. That says a lot about Haskins
ER, yeah it’s a slow day again so I figured I’d just dig around and try and find some news.
I appreciate it!
I appreciate it too, buddy!
Stanger, Yeah, Brian Miller is good to talk Fins football with for sure. If I’m not mistaken, he used to poke around from time to time with us on the SS back in the day.
Might have been before my time or didn’t know who he was then. Dude turned his passion and hobby into a career.
Used to kick his butt in FF….. but then he was managing like 6 of like 12 leagues before he sold out. My guess is he actually liked it when others won or maybe had so much to do didn’t in the time the rest did. Ran our league darn well though.
Piggy, what do the Bucs have to do with us getting a higher pick?
We have the Saints 2nd rd pick
————–
LOL, SO glad Gase is gone!
I believe they have 30+ drives without a TD too. Something like that….
Earl Thomas with the helmet to jaw hit.
He got knocked the fuck out. No flag…..
The Pearl is going to be getting a letter from FedEx… and it’s going to be VERY expen$ive. SMH @ the Pearl for that hit.
Damn!
We have the Saints 2nd rd pick
——————————————-
Ahhhh, go Bucs!!!!!!!
Does anybody need to be reminded why I call them the Stealers*??? Geez, the refs are SOOOO in bed with them (minus the Pearl hit on Mason Rudolph). That’s the second time the Stealers* got the call on a challenge, when it was blatantly not the right call.
And now, the Stealers* are in the lead, with their 4th string QB at the helm. SMH
Even Gene Steratore and the booth announcers (Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts) are talking about the BS calls in favor of the Stealers!
Do you think Gase has lost his locker room yet? lol
😆
Can we just be real, and re-name “Heinz Field” into “John Kerry Field”? I mean, John Kerry is married to Teresa Heinz, for crying out loud.
i have found that when i get Ketchup in my eye……….
i have terrific Heinz-site
LOL!
And Big Ben has always had some mustard on his throws… I’ve always relished that about him. 😉
Fucking Falcons! Matt Ryan = WAY OVERRATED!!!
C’MON, RAVENS!!!
GO RAVENS!!!
Not one of the 5 teams I mentioned plus the one Piggy mentioned are winning to help us out. We are fricking losing when we are not even playing. LOL SMH
Can’t even tank right. This franchise blows! LOL
Every single one is winning
WTF!
Maybe I should buy their jerseys or something

I am at the Hollywood beach tower which is just about a couple blocks away from margaritaville towards the Sheldon direction
I must reiterate… very good game going on between the Ravens and Stealers*. 20-20 with 7:40 left in the 4th QTR.
Cards just beat the Bengals.
Lamar just missed a wide open WR for what would have been the win
Ravens win!!!
Perfect end to that game .. our Steelers #1 pick is better , my fantasy kicker gets a 5 pt FG , and it counts as my 3rd correct tie game on sport select for 208.00 on 5.00 bet. 👍👍👍👍
Missed that before…… you saying you won $200 cause the game was tied against the spread?
In order for it to be a WIN has to be by 4 pts… picked cards/bengals, bears/raiders, and Pitt/ Baltimore to tie (finish within 3pt diff) all three were won by 3 pts
Now gonna sound like OD….. but new fangled bet stuff that makes no sense. And I’m a guy who thought teasers stupid when actually had a bookie (or least one of my friends did).
Can also play Point Spread , but we prefer straight up
It’s ran by our lotteries .. they assign multipliers for Home, visitor and ties , have to pick minimum 3 games .. take the three multipliers, multiply by each other then multiply by the $ bet ..
So today tie rates on those games were 3.6, 3.4 and 3.4 = 41.62 per $ bet
Also had a similar ticket with Eagles /Jets paying 6.00 for tie.. would have been 1664.00 on a 5 bet.. needless to say that was a Donation 🤡
Still sounding mos esoteric to me……. let’s talk about it at the Fest. Glad you won big time though! 🙂
Leaving Tobas personal goals aside. 🙂
Just sorry it that was that close.
Thought the Steelers worse than that.
Maybe it is the Minkah factor.
Minkah did play well
Wow Chargers have bad luck with kickers
WTG Ravens! Thank you!
Now come on Broncos, leave the ranks of the winless
HELL YEAH!!!
Gase is such an offensive mastermind. LMAO
Jets have Cowboys at home next week. Gase will probably get booed out of the stadium.
Stanger: yeah i will bring the lines for this weekends games and be able to explain it better in person.. .
Would be interested to learn. Tend to go with stuff can get an edge though. Blackjack and poker my favorites. Sports betting just for fun….. the bookies are too good and the vig too high (in blackjack only 2.5% if play the game right).
We do it mostly for fun spend 20.00 a week on 4 tix … usually hit enough per year to cover our play ,, last week had a whopping 22.00 winner.. have had one other earlier, so getting close to covering costs already
And you won big today. Some time when you are down and want to go to the “other” Hard Rock let me know. Not this year though. Major construction going on. Actually building the new hotel building in the shape of a guitar…. least sort of.
I know we’ve eaten at Hard Rock , don’t remember doing any gaming though..
Stanger is Brian coming this year ?
Don’t think so unless he decides last minute. And have enough tickets if he does. Goes for anyone who wants to come last minute as well. Not like gonna put on stubhub. Only Q is enough whether decide to let OD go sell on the street like a guy selling oregano as pot. 🙂
Lol as OD .. k I thought he was a no go .. Naples IS in right ? Just estimating van size
Naples is there…… but not sure if he wants on the bus or not.
RIP, Rip Taylor. 84 years young.
Throwing confetti in your memory, Rip. I’m saddened by this news.

Stanger, Wife and I just stayed there after we came down for the Pats game. They said the new guitar hotel was to open by Nov. We are Hard Rock members so we always get comp rooms when we come down there.
Nice
It may be open and didn’t catch on. Next time you are down let me know. Used to get comp rooms there as well when lived in DC and came down once a year. Changed my zip to a local one and no more. Those guys ain’t stupid. Still get food stuff though. Been to Council Oaks?
Broncos win!!!
WTG Broncos! Now there are only 4 winless teams in line for the first pick. On the flip side, there are only 3 undefeated teams left.

Brian is definitely going and bringing his son Sean as well as per usghe. Not sure about my son Brian yet, he’s trying to get some last minute flights, should know in a day or two.
Awesome thank you sir
Does that mean Brian is coming? Know if he has his own tix or wants to sit with the crew?
Never mind…. would erase that message is was an admin. 🙂
Great he is coming.
did you get my ticket?

Four winless NFL teams left: 0-5 Bengals, 0-5 Washington, 0-4 Dolphins, 0-4 Jets. Good news for Dolphins fans is Miami plays all of them. The Dolphins control their only destiny for the No.1 overall pick
what a complete douchebag. now all MIAMI has to do is keep losing? 5 bucks says this fucking loser is a piece of shit liberal….lol.
And we will beat them all. 🐕🥃🥃
Dilly dilly
I wouldn’t be upset in the least if Fins win any amount of games. WTF is wrong with people?
Sure would make you feel better about the new coaching staff if they can eek a few wins with this roster!
I’ve been saying all year….. watch these guys come together towards the end.
12-4 baby !!

Getting started early this season lol

The Fest curse may be in play here, watch us beat the Redskins!
