Browns offense too much for Dolphins – Dolphins fall 41-24 and record goes to 2-9

Yeah, Landry had a big game against his former team, but the story of the day for the Browns was their run game. Nick Chubb punished the Dolphins all day long along with a sprinkling from Kareem Hunt. All in all, the Browns offense was just too much for the Dolphins depleted defense. Between Chubb and Hunt they combined for 143 yards rushing on 29 carries good for over 4.9 YPC. Landry caught 2 TD passes and finished with 10 receptions and 148 yards. He was covered by Ryan Lewis, Ken Crawley and Nik Needham. The Browns had the ball for over 35 minutes compared to the Dolphins 24. Honestly, it didn’t even seem that close.

The Dolphins were down 28-0 late in the 1st half but managed to score 17 unanswered points. That was really as close as it got though as the Browns pulled away and won easily 41-24. TE Mike Gesicki caught his first career TD pass, which is really surprising that it’s taken this long, but good for him. DeVante Parker continues to stay on the field and produce, catching 6 passes for 91 yards, although some of them were in garbage time. Allen Hurns also was involved often and was tied for 2nd with 7 targets with Wilson and Gesicki. Wilson managed just 33 yards on 6 catches. No threat of a run game shrinks the space for Wilson to operate and it shows. He just doesn’t have that quick twitch explosiveness and is easily caught up with each time he gets his hands on the ball.

Raekwon McMillan returned and looked slow and ineffective in his return. He was a step slow to the edge a few times and wasn’t tackling well either. Hopefully he will improve as he gets back in game shape. HEY!!! Charles Harris got half a sack today! What a terror off the edge he was today! Van Ginkel made his first appearance and made a real nice ST’s tackle, a one arm sweep that upended the Browns kick returner. I have been very pleased with the play of our young secondary but today was a tough matchup. They were out there a lot and had a tough time with both Jarvis Landry, OBJ and the duo in the backfield Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, all who are receiving threats. We know that most likely these guys will be depth guys next season at best, but as you can see, depth is huge in the NFL because guys get hurt so often. These kids have been working hard and appear to play hard for their coach, so much props to them.

The Dolphins play the Philadelphia Eagles at home next week, a difficult matchup once again. The Eagles are pretty banged up, RB’s Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles are both out but Howard may be able to play by next week, Sproles is on IR. Jay Ajayi signed this week to once again join the Eagles. No doubt he will have a little extra sumpin’ playing his former team, although the guy that ran him out of town is no longer with the tea, (Gase). The Eagles will be desperate for a win to remain in the playoff hunt at 5-6, losing today to the Seahawks in a tough defensive battle 17-9. Miles Sanders will be the guy if Jordan Howard once again can’t go.

Wins and losses don’t really matter all that much in the scheme of things, just playing well and improving are prudent. Sunday there were a lot of penalties, and that didn’t help the Dolphins any. The lack of a run game has been a killer all season as the leagues worst rushing team by quite a margin. The Dolphins average the fewest rush attempts per game at 20 per game and have just 603 yards for a pathetic 3.0 yards per carry. I know our O-line is somewhat makeshift but run blocking is effort and will mostly, so I’d like to see this unit improve in this area. Durham Smythe has been tagged as a plus run blocking TE and I just haven’t seen it. It’s hard to see him all the time, but when I do, he’s not winning. Evan Boehm who has played both C and either G position hasn’t been opening up any space either. Really, no need to focus on any one player, no one on the O-line is getting it done and our dream of FB Chandler Cox being a plow in the run game hasn’t materialized. Truth be told, he’s hardly been used, and when he has, it’s yielded poor results.

KR/WR Jakeem was injured today and was seen in a walking boot. That also takes some sizzle out of the return game which is a shame. This leaves just Marcus Sherels who has been pretty underwhelming. The Dolphins needed that electricity that Grant brings so this one hurts. The Eagles have a physical defense that will challenge the Dolphins next week. The Eagles are a top 10 defense in some categories, such as yards per game at 323. They are midpack giving up an average of 23 points. Their biggest problem is they’re only scoring about 23 PPG, so that’s why they sit under .500. Two seasons ago when Carson Wentz was healthy they were scoring over 28 PPG.

As far as the future this season, things I’d like to see. I love what Fitz has done this season, he’s been a class guy and brings passion and effort each and every game. At some point though, I want to see Josh Rosen again. It could be in 2 or 3 games from now, but I want to see it. I want to see some passion, some fight from him. Does he really want to start, does he want to be the future of this team, or is he content holding the clipboard and collecting paychecks? This is what I’d like to find out. I’d like Flores to talk with Rosen and tell him that’s the plan, but unless he chomps at the bit and shows it he will be holding that effing clipboard or worse get traded again or cut. I know many of you have written Rosen off but I’m not doing that quite yet. He has talent, I want to see him use it. I want him to work his ass off learning the offense and studying how to read defenses and identify what he sees on the field. This is my hope going forward for him. I think it’s clear that mythical pass rusher we’re looking for is not on the roster, but it would be nice for someone to show a little something going into next season.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

Pretty crazy you are getting pissy with me over this Mikey. Just saying, its not that big a deal bro. We cant change any of it, and i think you and i are on the same page as to what we believe is honorable ways to handle yourself, but this group of players are not from the same generation of people. I say this a lot at work, thats why i was saying to you, i dont see a difference in how thy act about their jobs as some that work in other companies, because i see this all the time.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I’m not getting pissy, I fucking hate the guy. It’s got nothing to do with you except that you’re sort of defending him. Don’t sweat it. You’re just on the wrong side of this one from my viewpoint. No biggie, doesn’t affect you and I

  3. TryPod's avatar TryPod says:

Part of me sees Mike’s point.. then, I think about the fact that a contract requires at least 2 parties, and currently one of those parties can cancel or end or a contract any time they want (management) but the player is supposed to honor it no matter what? (Part of me also doesn’t give a f*** because they really don’t give a shit about me, either.)

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

A well constructed contract prevents that and rookie players come into the NFL knowing their first contract is limited. Minkah fucked us because he didn’t like his job description. How many jobs allow that? Not many. I have no problem with hating on diva players just like I have no problem hating on diva actors. They live in a different world.

      • TryPod's avatar TryPod says:

I don’t know about “well constructed contracts”. But like I said, I don’t really care, it doesn’t affect my life- neither do actors OR singers, for that matter.

Yeah, that’s summer in Norway. Try that shit in February. I spent four days in a tent in some farmers field 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle once. Great time.

  6. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’ve always felt the ‘players are trapped in contracts but the owners aren’t’ is kind of a false narrative because it sets it up like the player is beholden in some unfair way and get screwed, and the owners do nothing but come out ahead.

If an owner cancels or ends the contract that player still gets paid the guaranteed money, and can still sign a new contract with another team, effectively getting paid twice in some years. This is where the player comes out ahead. And the owner is still paying for that player for sometimes many years to come, which is where the owner loses. Obviously the owners still come out ahead by being able to terminate contracts before completion (usually there is a reason for that, and that is where the owner comes out ahead). But it is definitely a give and take for both parties, not entirely one-sided like the players make out sometimes.

This is why guaranteed money is the only thing that matters, and total contract money is just a pretty colored bubble.

    • TryPod's avatar TryPod says:

I don’t like the idea one party has to live up to a contract or they’re a diva, while the other side can terminate at will.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That’s fair, and I concede that point. Generally speaking, perception is pretty skewed in that regard. Most people looked at Bell like a diva for doing what he did. Same with Gordon in LA (still weird not to call them San Diego), etc., when really all they are doing is exercising the only power they have within the current system.

      • New Age's avatar New Age says:

I find that a bit skewed as well though. Is Jared Goff living up to his contract value this year? Yes or no? Is Todd Gurley living up to his contract in comparison to other players? Yes or no? Owners pay a premium for hope and bubbles and still have to pay enormous sums if the player lives up to their contract or not. The only people possibly getting screwed are low level talent. Yet they keep coming back because those are usually role players that play very limited snaps and still make a great living.

  7. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Stanger, right now in the NFL, players can effectively force trades, but there is a sacrifice to do it usually (unless the team just gives in to the player like we did). Bell forced his way off the Steelers, but it cost him a year to do it. I’m ok with that. It still leaves the players with some options and control. In his case, he felt it was worth it at the time. I do wonder what he thinks about it now. I think there should be a little balance, I just don’t want to see the players have most of the power to set up teams however they want.

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

I can’t think of a single instance where players are screwed over by ‘management’. I can think of a lot of situations where owners are sold a false bill of goods.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

In regards to the way contracts are set up, I tend to agree with what you’re saying, except for the owners being sold a false bill of goods (although I expect it’s more semantics than actual disagreement there). Both parties know the score, understand the risks they each incur, and operate accordingly. I think the system works fine.

      • New Age's avatar New Age says:

I agree. Teams sometimes go against some ‘old proverbial wisdom’ like paying RBs expensive contracts and suffer the consequences. Half of the battle every year is managing your roster and the limitations placed with a salary cap. It’s not as fun as watching some great football but it is still interesting(I enjoy it a lot).

On all 5! Do your homework!

Of course, there are no guarantees and of course there are a multitude of variables that factor in to each pick. And, you being condescending is also silly and not appreciated.

Your further response that morning that you would be happy with 3-4 solid contributors and some depth. Wow!!! Talk about silly! I won’t even go where I think that talk is about. It’s a WTF moment, at the very least, for me. Great idea, too!

Trading 2 starters for 5 1st and 2nd round picks and NOT having the expectation of something greater is suicide. You don’t give up top talent to be ok with some contributors and depth, IMHO, ever. Oh my, we are worlds apart.

At a minimum, you better HIT on 4 to 5 starters having 5 picks in the top 50 of the draft. Parlay them, flip them, trade them, however you need to get at least this, plus more, in the 2020 draft, like some solid contributors and depth.

Or, I’m with OD. You need to pick better or find another job.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Krishna, I believe D was talking about the history of drafts and how they pan out or don’t. There’s all sorts of reasons for it and it’s not just about evaluations because most of these prospects are on every team’s board. Yes we need to take advantage of the quality and quantity of our draft picks the next couple of years, but it’s not a perfect science as we all know. Also sometimes you end up with special core players from outside the 1st and 2nd rounds.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Whatever….and not every talent evaluator is created equal. Some are actually better than others. Grier created his situation, he needs to “show me.”

Having an expectation to replace what you gave up for something more, i.e. 2-3 more starters out of 50 of the top college prospects is not an unrealistic expectation.
        Nor silly.

Giving up to starters for future “3-4 solid contributors” (not starters or hits) speaks to the one of the reasons of mediocrity. Low expectations, low self worth, shitty results.

Grier blew it up because he thought he could do better. What’s better than 2 starters? Solid contributors and depth? Not in my opinion and beyond silly.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

        ^giving up two….”

  11. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

You dont turn down the Tunsil deal. The other one…well….

I don’t see this as Grier’s making. I see it as making the best of 2 situations.

    And isn’t 3 > 2 ?
If they get 3 starters isnt that better than 2? Plus the fact Minkah wouldn’t have been starting anymore.

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

So, you tear down your team, for the future, to get back to where you were a year from now. Great idea for team chemistry and team building concepts.

Grier needs to hit and asked for the deal with Tunsil. It’s completely on him. Then, he set the price for Minkah and got it.

My expectation is 5 new starters next year NOT 3-4 solid contributors and depth. So silly and recipe for same shit, different year.

And, then we trade our best players next year for more draft picks to get more contributors and depth. Oh my.

So many variables we can’t possibly ask or expect more from our talent evaluators. Silly me.

  12. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

Mike it’s just a way of looking at life.
If your looking in the past you’ll miss something in the present!
(and maybe some won’t have all that hate and angst that they carry around for the team) 😉

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I hear ya Wyo – There’s an awful lot to learn from the past too, so there’s that. I don’t dwell on the past, I think I do what most people do, take each day as it comes, try to plan for the future and also remember the past.

  13. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Regarding contracts, if players really wanted “fair” and “guaranteed” contracts, they would all be incentive based. They would meet certain milestones and be paid accordingly. Currently, teams assume all the performance risk. Ergo they have the option to terminate a contract to reduce the impact of the risk.

    • TryPod's avatar TryPod says:

I don’t see that as necessarily fair, either. Too many variables. Hypothetical: you sign a QB to a incentive driven contract and achievements he must hit to get to the next level, then put a horrible line, old running back, slow wide receivers and ham-handed TE’s in front of him. On top of that, he plays in the AFC North which has traditionally 2 of the best defenses that he had to have twice, but his contract is based off of one from a guy in a division not known for a defense.. again, hypotheticals, but.. I’m not against incentives, actually appreciate them in my job, but mine aren’t based on what the people around me achieve or are capable of.
Oh… And don’t waste the energy. I think he’d be a horrible lay lol

  14. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Oh…and fuck Minkah. He is a quitter.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I personally don’t think Minkah is a quitter as in on his team. I think it was a business decision. He didn’t want to be the Swiss Army Knife that I think he was suited for, he wanted a specified role. I didn’t like how it went down either because I think Minkah is a very good young player. But he didn’t want to be here.

It’s time for all of us to move on from this and see what 2020 looks like and then 2021. If we’re 4-12 to 6-10 both seasons then we know that’s not working either. It’s doesn’t take that long to get better. The real challenge is sustaining it. Just my two cents.

  15. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Krishna, all this “show me” stuff are just words. It’s funny Grier was part of drafting Tunsil and Minkah yet somehow now he’s being ridiculed for trading them both for different reasons. We haven’t even gotten to the next phase this team will go through in 2020 and 2021 and already people are shooting it down like it’s already failed.

That’s not really what D was talking about nor is it what I said in my reply to you. D and I are both talking about the law of averages in the draft. If you go to draft history and look at the 1st round year to year you see some great players, some okay players and busts.

OD’s mantra is obviously his disdain for Ross and anyone he hires so there’s that. Grier is only one year into his role as the top personnel guy. We have a new direction and a new HC and yes it hurts as fans in the first year of a rebuild. For years many fans hated that our team was stuck in mediocrity. This started before Ross became the owner. The entire franchise got tired of it and decided to rebuild the whole thing and now some fans are questioning it before it really gets started. Many teams in sports have done the same exact thing. We just don’t like that we’re in this situation now. The 49ers were #2 in the draft last year and look at them now. It can change quicker than people think. Some things need to break right.

That starts with being good in the trenches and at QB. Our 1st pick last year was Wilkins at DL, our 2nd was for a young QB and our 3rd was a G. We’re likely to do the same thing this year but with more ammo. Can we see where this goes before we shit on it? 😉

    • Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

Evidently for most the answer is no!

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah I guess but what is anyone going to do about it? This is where we are. I like the way way Flores and his staff are getting the most out of a mostly backup roster. What happens when we add more top shelf talent?

  16. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Can’t have team chemistry with a guy that won’t do what he is asked. So I don’t get why on earth moving him was a bad move.

But now, under Steve Ross’s leadership, the only thing we’re wondering about is our draft position in the upcoming draft. But even Steve Ross can’t defeat Father Time.

So last night driving home from work listening to NFL radio with Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt and they start a segment as they’re discussing how much QB Lamar Jackson has improved this season and then want people to call in and discuss who they think the most improved player is on their favorite team. Some douchebag calls up and says he’s a Miami Dolphins fan and the most improved player on the Dolphins is Minkah Fitzpatrick. Why couldn’t the Dolphins figure out how to use him playing him at so many positions and “overloading” him blah blah blah. I wanted to call in so badly but then realized that I left my phone at work. This narrative drives me crazy, that we just had no idea what to do with him and kept trying him in different places. It’s exactly how he was used at Alabama, but all of a sudden the guy can’t handle it. That’s on him and I will continue to root every day that he has a shitty career.

The next two drafts are huge, and it’s on Grier to get them right. He either gets a lot of building blocks for this team to develop around these next two years, or he has failed. I think he needs to hit on about 80% of the picks he ends up with over the next couple years. I have no idea if that’s realistic, but he can’t afford to miss on half his picks and build a winning team.
    ***
I wonder if we see picks that may tend to be solid, experienced, team leader type guys but not the flashy, athletic potential, more developmental types of guys who might be “Stars” because we really can’t afford to take a lot of risky players. This team needs a core leadership influx and has for years. Agin, maybe we see them targeting 4 year players…team captains…guys who are team leader type guys. Guys like Jerome Baker. Probably not a superstar but a really solid player and team leader.

  33. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Wyoming,
Yeah, I’m always kinda torn on Divas. Guys like Brady and Randy Moss are divas, but they are/were also great players. Sometimes, that’s part of what makes them special. What I shy away from are selfish, me-first guys who don’t put the success of the team first. I’ll put up with a little diva if the production is there and they are helping the team win and not just worried about their own stats. Sadly,I think we are way past players being team guys anymore.

  34. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I don’t see how setting an expectation to “show me” is putting Grier down, calling for him to be fired, or saying the trades were bad, or any other bullshit words you want to put into mouth. NEVER said any of that.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I don’t think there is anything wrong with expectation. We’ve gutted the team and traded away our best players. It’s entirely reasonable to expect a return on the investment, or instead of being mired in mediocrity like we have been for the last 10-15 years, we’ll be stuck at the bottom of the league for who knows how long.

We need to have a good draft in 2020, period. If we don’t, then IMO Grier has failed before we even get to 2021.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I just don’t think there is anything to show anyone in 2019 and I happy with that approach

  35. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I think setting expectations for this next draft, for this “new” team of evaluators, and for the future, puts the next stage of this team’s development front and center. Of course silly, naive me.

The coaches and the coaching of these “players” so far seem to be promising. Watching inferior talent being well coached is not any fun for me, but I totally get being patient.

These aren’t words…Grier and Co need to perform. They set the stage. Let’s see what you got.

Now everyone will start blogging that I want divas on the team. Yeah right.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t think there was anything wrong with what you initially said

I just personally like the idea of wiping the slate clean and bringing in news guys at once

Tunsil and Minkah were probably our best picks of the last few years
But that said, I don’t think we need them to succeed

Building a team from scratch is probably a better way to field the team you want
And we received very good value for those players

I’m really psyched about the draft
I’m not likely to judge too harshly on performance in 2019

      But this offseason is critical
And then in 2020 I will get much more critical of what I see on the field

But as for right now…I’m just looking for young players who might be here next year when I watch games

Seeing Gesicki and Parker come around are both great to see
As well as our low penalties

Oh…let’s not forget why we got gas mask Tunsil…..not sure why Minkah fell to us, but it was also considered a gift. Not sure I would rate that as awesome or a 10 on the draft evaluator scale. Mehta. He thinks he can do better based on his decisions. Show me.

At the very least we need a replacement LOT, starter, not contributor. And, at least 2-3 more. DL needs help, too.

Willing to wait and see what next year looks like ala Grier and Co. IMO, it needs to be impressive. So far I like Flores and Co. Good start, finish the job.

    ————————————————
So why do people let baseball players pride people with only 30% success, oh thats right because its incredibly difficult to be much better.

I found a source that found that across all team, starters on those teams were made up of 29.9% players from the first round, and 17.5% from round 2. That said, if we do league average, of the 5 picks in rounds 1 and 2, we would get less than half become starters, so 2 out of 5 would be league average. 3 out of 5 would mean he did a really good job. 4 out of 5 would be 80% that Randy suggested. Im talking abotu law of averages, im talking about reasonable expectations.

Im not saying we dont NEED to hit on all of them, but when is that ever not true. Im not saying i wouldn’t like to see Grier knock it out of the park, but complaining and blaming him for something that literally is out of his control after the selection process is SILLY. There is development, there are off field distractions, there are a bunch of things Grier cannot predict that derail prospects.

You still havent answered me about what you are gonna do when it doesnt happen. You cant have a statement like he MUST hit on all 5 without stating what you think will happen if he doesnt. You also haven’t defined what you mean is a hit, what makes a player a hit vs a miss?

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Sorry you didn’t get hit means starter after starting multiple times in a variety of ways. Can’t help you any more on that.

I believe I answered your first question too about what to do if Grier doesn’t hit. But, if you couldn’t get the first point, I get it.

Fire his ass! Apparently, he can pick a good coach, but if he can’t find players for the coach, he’s not good enough. Fire him.

We will see how he does and he should be evaluated strongly on the team he puts on the field in 2020, especially on his picks.

    • D's avatar D says:

Jesus you are being a dick Krishna. I think ill just skip your posts. Silly expectation, not you or your opinion are silly. Im not condescending, and never have been to you. You could start with some clarity right there. Silly as in its unreasonable to think that you hit on 100%, or probably even 80%. You are taking what im saying, wrong in the first place and definately putting WAY too much personal attack spin on it. I also didnt bring your family up on this blog, i said i know you been dealing with stuff. See YOU sire are being an antagonistic ass.

    • D's avatar D says:

Also i asked you to clarify what you meant so i could understand why we had what seemed like a disconnect. I was trying to figure out the issue, again, because you and i are not normally on such an opposite tangent, i do respect your opinions, but you have lit into me over like a complete asshole. I have watched you act this way to a few others here off and on, i dismissed it as working through shit, but for fucks sake stop taking shit out on people. If you cant deal with stuff and not be a dick to others, take a break.

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Giving me a dissertation on all the variables it takes to get beyond a “silly” expectation is the definition of being condescending thinking I don’t know any better. Please D. And, then you need clarification between the idea and me. Oh my. I can’t do this.

I can be antagonistic, but in this case it’s more like a cornered hurt beast. Don’t fuck with the truth, don’t fuck with me. Sorry to bring that here.

And sorry you can’t acknowledge your role.

      • D's avatar D says:

Tim tired explaining to you what i was saying, he got it, im sure a few others got it and they would probably say to you i meant nothing as an attack at you. Thats not how i act. If i wanted to condescend it would be super obvious. I have not feelings of superiority to your knowledge, and actually in this case, there isn’t any knowledge or facts, there is just opinions. I dont think you can expect 100%, you do. Done. I dont think Grier will be a failure if he doesnt get 100% starters from round 1 and 2 this year, you do. Done. Putting up with your shit. Done, but ill handle it the nicest way i can and stop the interaction. Sorry had to come to this but i dont think either of us will miss the other anyways,\.

Tim – I disagree regarding your stance that Minkah didn’t quit. He didn’t like the way he was being used, didn’t put out his best effort, and whined his way out. That’s quitting illustrated.

  43. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

IMO, I believe Grier needs to find 5 starters (hit) in the 2020 draft because he gave up 2 starters for 5 1st (3) and 2nd (2) round draft picks. Some believe that is ailly.

    My reasoning?

    1. Why do it if you don’t get more than what you gave up? What’s the point getting less, like contributors or depth? That’s a baffling concept to me. It’s a loser’s thinking. I’m tired of losing.

    2. With the stated goal of 5, you need to replace what you gave up. This is a must. Fireable offense, imo. If a starting long term OLT is not replaced, yikes. We need two immediate starters, OL and DB works the easiest comparisons. Then what?

    3. You have 3 1s and 2 2s and you have holes everywhere on the team. It should be a testament to your evaluators and your homework to find a minimum of two more with 13 picks overall. That’s an expectation I have of Grier and co and what I would evaluate him strongly on. The first two better/need to be and with all the holes we have 4 in the top 50 should not be an unreasonable expectation. Low bar?

    4. Why not icing on the cake and make 5 the goal? If you can do 4-5 hits we might be going places, especially with the following year’s draft. This might be a “once in franchise life” time window.

You orchestrated the tear down; now build it back up. Grier’s only done half the job!

2020 draft we shall see and I’m not cutting him any slack.

  44. New Age's avatar New Age says:

It’s time to move on from Minkah. I don;t care about him or any ex-Dolphins except the ones I want to see succeed. Like Frank Gore. Love that guy, good luck! Going further into that thought, isn’t it crazy to see our local writers always talking about where ex-Dolphins are playing now? I can’t imagine many(or any) caring about ex-players too much especially some of the role player guys.

I’ll watch guys like Tannehill when they play, but I’m not looking for where Jake Brendel or O’Leary signed, or where Dion Jordan plays now. I definitely could care less what short term FAs like Robert Quinn are doing but some of our writers are going out of their way to mention these guys frequently. It’s just sad to watch. Are they pushing the tired agenda of ‘players going elsewhere and succeeding?” Have fans who are dying to know what ex-Dolphins are doing? Have nothing else to write about? It just seems weird and a bit dumb at this point but I see multiple tweets, etc every week about this.
