Yeah, Landry had a big game against his former team, but the story of the day for the Browns was their run game. Nick Chubb punished the Dolphins all day long along with a sprinkling from Kareem Hunt. All in all, the Browns offense was just too much for the Dolphins depleted defense. Between Chubb and Hunt they combined for 143 yards rushing on 29 carries good for over 4.9 YPC. Landry caught 2 TD passes and finished with 10 receptions and 148 yards. He was covered by Ryan Lewis, Ken Crawley and Nik Needham. The Browns had the ball for over 35 minutes compared to the Dolphins 24. Honestly, it didn’t even seem that close.
The Dolphins were down 28-0 late in the 1st half but managed to score 17 unanswered points. That was really as close as it got though as the Browns pulled away and won easily 41-24. TE Mike Gesicki caught his first career TD pass, which is really surprising that it’s taken this long, but good for him. DeVante Parker continues to stay on the field and produce, catching 6 passes for 91 yards, although some of them were in garbage time. Allen Hurns also was involved often and was tied for 2nd with 7 targets with Wilson and Gesicki. Wilson managed just 33 yards on 6 catches. No threat of a run game shrinks the space for Wilson to operate and it shows. He just doesn’t have that quick twitch explosiveness and is easily caught up with each time he gets his hands on the ball.
Raekwon McMillan returned and looked slow and ineffective in his return. He was a step slow to the edge a few times and wasn’t tackling well either. Hopefully he will improve as he gets back in game shape. HEY!!! Charles Harris got half a sack today! What a terror off the edge he was today! Van Ginkel made his first appearance and made a real nice ST’s tackle, a one arm sweep that upended the Browns kick returner. I have been very pleased with the play of our young secondary but today was a tough matchup. They were out there a lot and had a tough time with both Jarvis Landry, OBJ and the duo in the backfield Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, all who are receiving threats. We know that most likely these guys will be depth guys next season at best, but as you can see, depth is huge in the NFL because guys get hurt so often. These kids have been working hard and appear to play hard for their coach, so much props to them.
The Dolphins play the Philadelphia Eagles at home next week, a difficult matchup once again. The Eagles are pretty banged up, RB’s Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles are both out but Howard may be able to play by next week, Sproles is on IR. Jay Ajayi signed this week to once again join the Eagles. No doubt he will have a little extra sumpin’ playing his former team, although the guy that ran him out of town is no longer with the tea, (Gase). The Eagles will be desperate for a win to remain in the playoff hunt at 5-6, losing today to the Seahawks in a tough defensive battle 17-9. Miles Sanders will be the guy if Jordan Howard once again can’t go.
Wins and losses don’t really matter all that much in the scheme of things, just playing well and improving are prudent. Sunday there were a lot of penalties, and that didn’t help the Dolphins any. The lack of a run game has been a killer all season as the leagues worst rushing team by quite a margin. The Dolphins average the fewest rush attempts per game at 20 per game and have just 603 yards for a pathetic 3.0 yards per carry. I know our O-line is somewhat makeshift but run blocking is effort and will mostly, so I’d like to see this unit improve in this area. Durham Smythe has been tagged as a plus run blocking TE and I just haven’t seen it. It’s hard to see him all the time, but when I do, he’s not winning. Evan Boehm who has played both C and either G position hasn’t been opening up any space either. Really, no need to focus on any one player, no one on the O-line is getting it done and our dream of FB Chandler Cox being a plow in the run game hasn’t materialized. Truth be told, he’s hardly been used, and when he has, it’s yielded poor results.
KR/WR Jakeem was injured today and was seen in a walking boot. That also takes some sizzle out of the return game which is a shame. This leaves just Marcus Sherels who has been pretty underwhelming. The Dolphins needed that electricity that Grant brings so this one hurts. The Eagles have a physical defense that will challenge the Dolphins next week. The Eagles are a top 10 defense in some categories, such as yards per game at 323. They are midpack giving up an average of 23 points. Their biggest problem is they’re only scoring about 23 PPG, so that’s why they sit under .500. Two seasons ago when Carson Wentz was healthy they were scoring over 28 PPG.
As far as the future this season, things I’d like to see. I love what Fitz has done this season, he’s been a class guy and brings passion and effort each and every game. At some point though, I want to see Josh Rosen again. It could be in 2 or 3 games from now, but I want to see it. I want to see some passion, some fight from him. Does he really want to start, does he want to be the future of this team, or is he content holding the clipboard and collecting paychecks? This is what I’d like to find out. I’d like Flores to talk with Rosen and tell him that’s the plan, but unless he chomps at the bit and shows it he will be holding that effing clipboard or worse get traded again or cut. I know many of you have written Rosen off but I’m not doing that quite yet. He has talent, I want to see him use it. I want him to work his ass off learning the offense and studying how to read defenses and identify what he sees on the field. This is my hope going forward for him. I think it’s clear that mythical pass rusher we’re looking for is not on the roster, but it would be nice for someone to show a little something going into next season.
GO DOLPHINS!!!
#staythecourse

Guess they ran the practice on that formation in the Saban Bubble.
Looking like the better team today. WOO HOO!!
Happy Birthday Piggy!!!
I love that we can be a pain in the ass for teams trying to make the playoffs. 😉
^
AWESOME!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!
Rosen congratulated Haack.
Haack’s Response?? –“Looks like I’m now the second string quarterback!!!!!!”
Gotta love them being creative………. rolling over is not what it is about.
FUCK “TANKING!!”
Pretty much what Flores says…… like him.
Maybe we can run the ball draft!

They may not be very good, but they’d not boring either.
dammit … almost held them out. We need DBs and edge rushers.
I can’t wait until we get some pass rush, lol.
That can change everything very quickly.
Yep, Chase Young would be a nice addition. And a quality rusher or two in FA. We’ll have a whole new defensive look with some rush.
That formation TD with the punter throwing a TD to the kicker will live forever in NFL history. That was just awesome.
If they’d kept Fields the toss could have been for 50+ yard, but guess have to play with the cards you are dealt.
LMAO
Agreed! Flores is already setting the tone for the unexpected. Teams are on notice. 🙂
Getting sick of hearing Philly fans today. Can’t wait for the Dolphins to improve so tix are hard to get.
Niners v Ravens has been a great game so far. Could be our SB preview.
Nice plays by Fitz and Gesicki
Unleash the TEs!
Parker is in BEAST MODE today
Any of the Homers take him in FF?
I’m plYing him 22.9
Must have brought some Homeraide back with you……and it worked. 🙂
Doink!
Shit now that is how to answer an opp9nent’s TD drive.
Hell yeah! Keep ’em nervous and stay in this game!! And f*&ing Parker has arrived.
I didn’t see anything close to a push off by Parker, don’t know what the DB or announcers are inferring
It doesn’t look like Parker touched the db
now 2 problems.. should not have tried the onsides kick … got too cute.
and Sanders missing the PAT is a direct result of him and haack still jacked and distracted from the TD they got for us.
I thought Parker had a good year in 2016 in terms of showing some toughness and making hard catches. The next year it was kinda there too, but he’s just never been able to stay healthy and be consistent. I think he has it in him to be a 1000 yard/8 TD kinda guy. He’s just gotta stay on the field and play big. He’s got nice length and radius. When he plays soft, he’s not nearly as good.
He’s starting to consistently show up.
Bengals beating the Yets 17-6. Interesting.
Happy Birthday Pig!
Shit!
Aquaman !!
Jets are going to be the first win for two different teams this year LMAO!
Gesicki!!!
Get sexy!
Gesicki has arrived. We’re watching the kid grow up right before our eyes.
Hurns is a pro.
WooHoooooooo!
Happy Birthday Piggy.
You can’t stop Gesicki, you can only hope to contain him.
I guess I’m going to have to figure out how to spell “G’s” name!
Tmrw’s article will be all about Gesicki. 🙂
Happy B-day, 🐷!
Carson Wentz has thrown some really bad passes
If we keep with this everyone at the LOS D…… gonna need another shutdown corner.
2
Philly’s got a punter? 😉
Dang right Mike G.
Gesicki leap!
OMG Parker!
Laird TD woot woot
A rushing TD???????????????????????
🎶🎶🎶and when you say Miami🎶🎶🎶
Nice coxblocking as well lol
I rarely root for a cox block
But it was worth rooting for there
Laird and Gaskin look good today.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
Don’t know why we went for 2 but I love it. (I guess it means they can’t win with 2 FGs?)
Can we just stick with Laird and Gaskin the rest of the season and keep Ballage on the f^*&ing bench where he belongs please?
Laird is a Pats kinda of guy….. maybe a new Phins guy as well.
Parker has been nothing short of amazing today. Unbelievable
Vinatieri has a FG blocked for a TD. This is a nightmare season for him.
Tannehill with a 40 yd TD.
Guice is helping the redskins win
Watch this run by Guice
Ravens beat 9ers
And they went to our game after it was over!
This is the DeVante I dreamed he could be
Can’t believe we are going to win this one
Parker
Not so sexy in that one
ST player if the week Jason Sanders
Fist pump for the win?
A gut punching drive for the Dolphins. Great coaching.
Good to have Sanders back in form. Big kick. This game is ours to lose now.
Hell Yeah!!! We got them!!!
Draft position or not
We don’t lose on my birthday!
A. Colbert on the pass defense for us? He’s like a 5th string DB.
What a terrific play by Webster, whoever he is…
C’mon Defense.
Catch.
Come on D!!!!
Just got here. Happy Birthday Piggy
What a great day today regardless of outcome
Gesicki and Parker doing what we always hoped
Nice job Rowe
Thank you, Wentz, Should have thrown it away. Now it takes an onside kick + for us to lose.
I don’t think Wentz has played terrible today. Some terrible throws but an overall decent performance for an average QB. I think the Eagles have been outcoached though.
We don’t try to run do we?
3 runs and a punt puts the clock at 50 sec?
25 sec?
Lol, on a day where the Dolphins could gain on draft position (except for the Giants) they win, potentially
ok so we must get at least one first down, right?
yes
Great win!!!!
smart to put our punt returner up there for the on side kickoff.
At least we don’t stubbornly try to run it when we can’t anymore!
The redskins are about to lose
😞
Need the TD and 2pt to force a tie
That was a nice present!
I get to make the 2 Cowboy fans thank me for this! 🙂
Wow, nice road win.. lol
Which team?
LOL, heart stopping end when that ball bounced up.
Good looking win .. I expected Philly to roll over us …. loving our coach 👍👍👍
Eags 5-7
Dolphins 3-9
That’s kinda close to the same, no?
Maybe Fins won back a couple of our old posters that ran off to be Philly fans today! LMAO
Fuck em Fins!
FTW
GO FINS
Wonder what our power ranking will be next week. Guess #32 is gone from now on. 🙂
Washington hangs on for the win!
🍺 and about extra Bday drink as well 🥃🍸
Redskins held on for win
Easily the most satisfying game of the year to watch. Wow!!! Fuck Rosen, this was awesome! lol
What did Rosen do to deserve that lol.
I don’t get the fuck Rosen comment?
Beer D
Rejoice…lol
Lmao

I love the win but almost bittersweet with Cincinnati and Redskins winning
Wash, Cincy, TB, and Tennessee all won so that is all great.
