The scrappers. That’s pretty much what we had left at the end of the season and much to their credit, they held their own pretty well. Guys like Nik Needham, Ken Webster, Ryan Lewis and a cast off like Jomal Wiltz. Xavien Howard was already on IR as was Bobby McCain, yet the secondary wasn’t a glaring weakness. Xavien Howard’s availability is still up in the air despite the charges being dropped. His physical health is also in question with his twice injured knee. I’m not even going to construct a depth chart because so much is up in the air. I suppose I could pencil in Xavien Howard at LCB if he’s healthy and there are no ramifications of the domestic battery situation December 30th 2019. I’m expecting us to be active in both FA and the draft shoring up this secondary. You can never have too many good cornerbacks,
In free agency, the first guy that jumps out at me is former Bills and eagles CB Ronald Darby. He just turned 26, and while not an INT machine, he’s a solid cover corner and a scrapper as well. Trae Waynes formerly of the Minnesota Vikings will just be turning 28 and while he’s not a guy who snares a lot of INT’s, he’s also a pretty good cover corner. Artie Burns former Pittsburgh Steeler will yet to be 25 and while still a little raw with his skills, he’s been a starter and may still have potential. Eli Apple and Vernon Hargreaves were top prospects that fizzled out in their 1st stints in the NFL but might me worth a shot. Bashaud Breeland who has been on 3 teams is only 28 and has been a successful starter.
In the draft there are a few top shelf CB’s available and with 3 first RD picks and 2 second RD picks we will have a shot at a few of them. Jeff Okudah from Ohio St. seems to be the unanimous top prospect. It really varies after Okudah with C.J. Henderson, Treyvon Diggs and Kristian Fulton jumbled in many different orders. This may seem strange but what we did last year with Nik Needham, Ryan Lewis, Ken Webster etc. etc., I’m thinking we may not choose to use one of our high picks on a CB. If we do, it’s probably for a couple of reasons, one being they feel Howard can’t be relied upon. I think we may let the best CB’s fall where they may while we shore up the O-line and pass rush and possibly RB and then look in the 2nd and 3rd at other positions. We’ll see! The combine begins later this week so the fun begins as speculation runs rampant! Enjoy!
GO DOLPHINS!!
#staythecourse

So in the last 2 days we’ve heard:
Miami wants Tua
Miami wants Herbert
Miami wants Love
Miami wants Burrow
This leads me to believe Miami drafts Hurts😂
Our drafts usually hurt
Tristan Wirfs is an Effin Beast.
BBMIke – Wow on Bechtin. That’s fast for a gargantuan dude like he is
On Bechtin, he looks great except for that weight. He’s gained about 12 pounds since the games ended a few months ago. He will constantly have to be monitored for weight in an NFL that doesn’t train people nearly as much as it used to. I see that wearing him down eventually but he may be a beast by Year 2-3.
I much prefer Wirfs and that athleticism but I have no clue Grier’s favorite type of OT (or Flores).
Yea, I’m loving Wirfs too. He’s so smooth, quick, and athletic. I would be very happy with using our second 1st round pick on him. I would even move up a few spots to get him. …Andrew Thomas too.
Yeah, Thomas is the dream but Wirfs should be a solid consolation prize.
BOOM!
Tua Tokealotofbong.😎👍🐕🥃🥃
I’ve seen every game Wirfs has played. He struggles with speed and really doesn’t play as athletically as he looked at the combine. I will say, he actually looks smaller to me, which is possible. He’s been told he’s possibly being looked at as a guard because of his relative lack of quickness. He knows showing some quickness will benefit his draft stock…and getting lighter would help. I think it points out why you really don’t put a lot of stock into how any of these guys look dressed in shorts doing drills.
***
All that said, I love Wirfs. He definitely needs to work on his pass pro. He will struggle with the athletes in the NFL….at least at first. I’d have no problem drafting him. I’d throw him in at RT in practice and see how he does. If he does struggle, you move him inside and let him dominate in the run game….learn the game a bit more because he’s still a young kid…and transition him back to RT if he develops. There’s a reason the kid was the first Hawkeye to ever start as a true freshman on the OL. He has the P word to be great.
I only watched a few and knew he had a few issues with speed rushers based off earlier comments you’ve made. I think they all have warts, even Thomas, but I think Wirfs is probably the third best OT in this draft and a good target at 18.
It will be 30 years this coming draft when we took Webb and Sims. Maybe we repeat it by finding our future LT and LG in the same draft again. …Andrew Thomas and Tristan Wirfs anyone. Lol
I should have said Wirfs looked more fit rather than smaller. When you drop bad weight and put on muscle you can actually gain weight. Maybe he’s been working out for the combine. Every kid wants to be seen as a tackle. They usually make a lot more money.,..although that’s beginning to change too.
New Age,
The positive for me is that he has improved over the past few years. His coaches love him. He’s a team leader type of guy who’s smart and very coachable. He’d be a good addition to the lock room. Even if he doesn’t live up to his complete potential, he’ll probably still be a very solid pro.
A QB just signed for $17 million per year. Thing is team was CBS and QB Tony Romo. How many guys getting pummeled by 300 pound D-Lineman next year will make more?
That’s a heckuva salary for a commentator. Has to be near the top I would think. Wow!
I think thus far Jonathan Taylor has been the most impressive back and it’s not close. He’s been my #1 back for Miami for a long time.
Once I typed this Taylor loses a shoe 😂
hey guys, just wanted to check in on You guys and say stay healthy. my doctor said this morning that 40 percent of Americans could catch covid-19
IBIO is the company that will save the planet IMO
they have the vaccine in tests now, and are prepared to mass produce in Texas facility once they get FDA approval
and Yes i must admit im heavily invested in the next CEO of the year;s company IBIO, but its nice to know that someone has the answer for the Covid 19
unfortunately it might be a year or more to market
You weather the storm with your other investments? I got crushed this week.
i tripled my profile in 2 days with IBIO,
blue chips SUCKKK, expect more corrections, up to 25-30 percent
blue chips are crashing hard, with no relief in sight
if You are looking for an investment safe haven, it isnt gold or Bitcoin, its IBIO
stock is up 600 percent in 2 days
Stanger, check out IBIO, AIM, and Bioc
Not my style. If anything all the losses made me feel better cause am cash heavy. But then I went that way since Trump was elected and lost out on a lot of gains by being so.
i refuse to lose money over ANY president
I’m just not as good at willing returns as you. Or maybe not as brave. Some of the stuff you do would make me shit my pants.
Ahh Jeez — that was just a metaphor…. nothing intended at all.
my Microsofts are looking like major soft, but Warren Buffet says this doesnt change the 30 year outlook, lol THANKS Mr Buffet
Stanger, i did 30 hours of research on IBIO before i purchased a single share
if You dont KNOW what You are buying, dont buy it, right?
Know you put a lot of work in. I’m just lazy and buy stuff like the S&P. Easier and also safer.
i have passive investments, they suck right now, but every week or so ill cost average them and stay close until they rally. ill chase em down 80 percent if i have too and load up when there is what Buffet says ,,blood in the streets buy points
never sell losses, it wont get You anywhere, besides the stocks always go up when You sell, lol
i allow myself 20 percent of my profile for high risk high reward guys like IBIO
but i honestly dont believe IBIO is all that risky, look at the major corona stocks, heck all of them were down today, but IBIO was up 180 percent on a sell off Friday
im not surprised Miami was a bit standoffish to TUA, I never believed they wanted Him after the injury, Justin Herbert is the guy IMO
the media has played up the Tua thing so long, they didnt get inside the Fins Management circle and find out what was really going on, laziness and or incompetence IMO
the media already reported that Ross wasnt interested in Tua, and yet they kept saying TUa is the guy, blah blah blah
wtf, they dont even read their own articles about what Ross wanted
It seems to be a deep draft at a lot of positions which is good for us with so much draft capital.
Is that a tip?
If Jonathan Taylor is that fast, I am ok with moving him up to equal of De’Andre Swift in my RB group with Dobbins and Edwards Hilaire in the second but still acceptable group.
I was also happy to see that Cam Akers ran well. I think he got shafted by the coaching problems at FSU while he was there. I would love to get Akers on the sneak in the 3rd, but he will probably now go in the 2nd.
He was a top 10 national prep rating as a dual threat QB in HS. He THREW for 8000+ yds and 78 TDs and ran for another 5000 and another 71 scores.
Why can’t we use him as a wildcat trigger or like they do that insane guy in New Orleans.
Or like Crash Jensen 4.5
i like AKERS !
He is a mismatch for any defense
he looks a little slow on film, and hes from FSU,
but he has incredible vision and cutback angles, WOW
There’s a nice big bunch of really good OL this year. We should make sure we get a Tackle early.
If Simmons is there for us, it would be hard to ignore him for anyone else.
He’s like a huge safety.
He can spy on dual threat QBs and cover and snuff out TEs and cut off wheel routes.
Plus he seems like a really good kid.
A little disappointed with Thomas’ bench press (21) but the guy does have a couple of telephone poles for arms (36 1/4″).
Akers ran 4.47, 5th best RB time @5.10. 217 with 20 reps and big hops. He’s got serious talent, too.
Naples, I was a little down on Jonathan Taylor as RB1 or 2. Was looking at him as RB3 due to him not being used in passing game much and his mileage.
I have changed that opinion a bit after watching his workout yesterday. Not just his 40 time but the drills and pass catching. He is a really good all round back and at his size is a huge plus. I put him at RB2 ahead of butter finger Dobbins almost a toss up with swift for RB1. If we could nab him in top of 2nd round would be a steal!
Thank goodness this draft is deep at several positions.
i didnt care for Taylor, he looked lethargic in his drills, very upright not a quick titch guy. ballage looks better than him.
swift is the real deal
I remember one of the talking heads say this was a weaker draft a few months ago but it looks loaded with the talent we need this year. Tons of very good OTs, QBs galore, and some really good DEs. We have enough picks to get a solid top 5 guy in each of those spots too. I’d love to get lucky enough to pick up Cushenberry in the 2nd as well.
He OTs are really strong
QBs too
I don’t think I agree about DE though
Good RBs though
A ton of RBs that are worthy of a 2nd round pick
Imagine Mekhi Becton chasing after you . . . . TERRIFYING!
Especially knowing he’s gonna catch you! lol
He’s a one year wonder though, right? I’m skeptical of his ambition and perseverance. His mom’s a caterer? He might eat himself out of the league, a la Big Vern Carey.
Speaking of big boys, anybody following Vern’s son as a basketball player?
He’s 6’10 270 at Duke.
Piggy I really like Epenesa at DE for us. No? Also Chaisson looks like a good prospect.
I’d love a draft that included one of them or Terrell Lewis @ Edge, either Swift or Taylor or Cam Akers @ RB, and one of my Fave 4 tackles:Wills, Thomas, Jones, or Jackson.
Honestly I think edge is one of the hardest positions to evaluate
I wouldn’t complain about any of those players though
I think if we walked away with Espenesa/Kinlaw/Brown type and some one like Chaisson, we might be a really good defense next season
But I would really prefer to prioritize QB, OL, and RB
Unfortunately even with a treasure trove of picks…it never feels like enough
sigh
If only we had 9 first round picks.
Then I’d be happy.
PS: Antoine Winfield Jr is too short for my taste at Safety in the modern NFL with all of these tall WRs. At safety I want Simmons or Delpit or Jeremy Chinn or Jordan Fuller from Ohio State.
Naples – I think Zack Baun (Wisconsin) is going to be one of the pass rushers we draft
Naples – Is it important for an OL to have a great 4 year career? I mean the guy has the size and the athleticism and he can play. The thing that scares me the most about Bectin is he may have a propensity like you mentioned to balloon up to a weight where he can’t be effective.
There are a lot of prospects I like in this draft. The issue is what do we have to do if QB is our target with our first pick? Do we have to move up or can we stay where we are?
I do think that the amount of talent at some premium positions will push good RBs into the 2nd round. Let’s say we don’t make any trades and come away with QB, OT, (2) front 7 defenders and a RB with our first 5 picks. That really adds a good amount of talent at multiple positions.
QB, (2) OL, EDGE, and a RB
I think we’re going OL in FA as well. I don’t think we should go 4-1 offense with our first 5 picks. The OT group is very good and you can add interior OL in the mid rounds to develop.
So who is going to lose their minds if Miami doesn’t take a QB, just rolls with Fitz and Rosen for another year? Think of the trade back possibilities.
I’m fine with skipping QB this whole draft.
I don’t even see it as a “Trade Back” scenario!
They may just go BPA and stand pat!
There are a bunch of teams right behind them that might like to slide up for a QB. Miami could pick up a couple more early picks.
Not me. I don’t think this has to be the year to find our franchise QB.
well Epenesa disappointed … looked slow and kludgy … so a first day of Isaiah Simmons, De’Andre Swift, and OT Jackson out of USC looks really good to me.
That is if we sign Brady in FA of course.
He definitely looked like a 3-4 DE more than an OLB / EDGE guy!
Tua was pissed of his treatment from the Miami brass when they met, not sure if that’s a smoke screen. you don’t want to show your cards to anyone not even the player.
That said maybe they won’t go qb at #5, i prefer they trade back get a decent pick this year still in the 1st rnd, maybe a 2 this year as well and a 1st next year.
i would assume we will trade back with one of our 1st rnders
keep those early picks coming in.

It’s flat out not reliable
We discussed it a little yesterday if you scroll up

Especially knowing he’s gonna catch you! lol
______________________________________________
he definitely moved up in the draft due to his 40 time, i’d take Wirfs over him though, Wirfs is in shape, becton isn’t, 40 times don’t matter much for OL, they don’t go out for passes.
Per thedraftnetwork, biggest combine winners for RB were Ackers, Taylor and Dillon.
https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/cam-akers-aj-dillon-jonathan-taylor-nfl-combine-running-back-winners-2020
TDN, biggest combine winners for QB were Tua (cause his medicals checked out), Love andHurts.
https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/jordan-love-tua-tagovailoa-jalen-hurts-nfl-combine-quarterback-2020
TDN biggest combine winners for OL were Cleveland, Hennessy and Wirfs.
https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/ezra-cleveland-matt-hennessy-tristan-wirfs-nfl-combine-offensive-line-winners-2020
TDN biggest combine winners for WR were Jefferson, Peoples-Jones, Mims and Claypool.

Two weeks from tomorrow teams can start talking to agents of free agents. Signing can start the 18th. Then pro days start.
I wonder how much trade talk has gone on this week in Indy?
A post combine draft. It went OK. Went huge on RB.
5 Isaiah Simmons, LB Clemson
18 Andrew Thomas, OT Georgia
26 Jonathan Taylor, RB Wisconsin
39 Jordan Love, QB Utah State
56 Jaylon Johnson, CB Utah
70 Saahdiq Charles, OT LSU
135 Devin Duvernay, WR Texas
144 Anfernee Jennings, EDGE Alabama
155 J.R. Reed, S Georgia
165 A.J. Dillon, RB Boston College
177 Khalil Davis, IDL Nebraska
223 Lavert Hill, CB Michigan
I could see us trade up from 135. Many good players come off the board between #70 and #135.
I’d trade as many of our later picks as it takes to go up from 135 into the 90s or low 100s.
Those 3rd round numbers have a great chance of contibuting, while few from after 135 ever really make an impact.
Chiefs letting Cameron Erving hit FA. He’s not great, but he’d be an upgrade at either C or G.
A warm body would be an upgrade.
Cool, I’ll sign up for league minimum! LOL
I’m ok with another year of Kilgore; he’s a little small and weak in the run game, but a good leader and a vet at the pivot position.
Then draft the #1 center next year.
I don’t think Becton is out of shape, he’s just that big. If he was out of shape he would not have run a 5.11. He actually dropped 7 lbs. from his previous weight of 364 when he reported at the combine to 357 when he ran the 40.
I don’t think anyone was saying he’s out of shape, but 357 could probably become 375 if he’s not working hard. He should probably be about 330-340
ORob did say he was out of shape. I heard Kevin Long say he played at 350 and since he retired he’s now 280. He’s not naturally as big as Becton.
Does Becton have a reputation of not working hard? I haven’t heard that.
Mekhi Becton doesn’t look out of shape to me. He’s just monster huge.

My problem with Beckton is his feet don’t like quick. I don’t think he icktons in the same conversation as Thomas or Jones, and maybe Wills. If we go QB with 5, then we won’t get Thomas, or probably Wills, i wouldn’t use 18 on Beckton unless a lot of others are off the board already because between Jackson, Beckton, Jones, Prince Tega, Words, etc I just don’t see a reason to reach on a y of these guys and I don’t really see any one of them as have to have at 18.
He is in the same league….
I wouldn’t be surprised if Becton went to the Giants at #4.
Egypt now has a hundred million people.
And Nigeria has 200,000,000, with 90 million under age 18.
There are only 20 million in Sweden, but 2 million are under age 18.
And Coach Rivera supposedly told Tua that the Redskins want to draft him at #2.
Good, then maybe we can stop hearing about Miami giving up multiple 1st rounders to move up to #3.
^^^^
Actually that might be why Rivera said it … to make us pay big to get Tua.
^
The only people putting Tua to Miami has been the media. This started January 2019. LOL
IT’S MY SAD DUTY to report that two of my “boyz” who went with me to Dolphin games when this franchise was winning playoff games and Super Bowls are no longer with us. I know Youing Stanger got to meet, know, and respect BOTH of them for quite a few seasons.
About 2 years ago Pasquale Fragnito’s health started to deteriorate. His son, James, had the task of caring for him. James who was about 6’5″ and over 300 pounds found that caring for a loved one was more than he bargained for. A lot more. During the holiday season, James had a coronary, lingered for a few days, then passed away. By February, Pasquale also had taken a turn for the worse. About 10 days ago, the physicians in attendance advised the family it was time to turn off the machines. Just before his 93rd birthday, Pasquale also passed away. Besides being a true friend and a die hard Dolphins fan, Pasquale also was a war hero. He lied about his age and joined the army in either 1944 or 1945. He received 6 bullet wounds while parachute landing in France. He told me “All they hit was flab! –I had no life threatening wounds” he reported. But the fact remains he did every thing he could when he had a chance to serve his country.
BOTH of the Fragnito’s were hoping the upcoming season would be a good one for Miami. BOTH were hoping to see our favorite team return to the Playoffs and actually WIN A PLAYOFF GAME in 2020.
NOW, they won’t get that chance. And it saddens me tremendously. Oh how we dreamed of going to Raymond James Stadium to see our long shot Dolphins in the Super Bowl THIS SEASON!
sorry to hear of their demise, OD.
I’m glad you have great memories of them as fellow fans.
Sorry to hear that OD. My condolences to their family.
Israel population: 8 million
1 out of 5 Isrealis are Muslim.
Iran has 80 million people.
15000 Jews
Iran’s Jewish community is the largest in the Mideast outside Israel – and feels safe and respected.
While they are free to worship, they face some limitations.
There are 13 synagogues in the capital of Iran.
Twenty years ago, Siamak Morsadegh’s wife wanted the couple to move to America. She left. He stayed, choosing Iran’s more conservative culture.
Reza Sayah:
Today, Morsadegh is an elected member of Iran’s Parliament, proof, he says, that Jews here are a respected minority with religious rights. So you gave up your wife to stay in Iran?
Siamak Morsadegh:
Yes. Yes, it’s very important for me. I think that I cannot live without Iranian culture. I can’t tolerate my wife to dress in bikini in seaside, because I grew up in Iranian culture.
THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS,NAPLES. Yes, I spent many of the greatest days of my life with the Fragnito’s in the historic Orange Bowl. To say we had fun would be a tremendous under statement!
So sorry for the loss of your friend, OD.
Sorry to hear about Pasquale OD
I met him once at a game (you introduced us)
Seemed like a great guy
Terrible news OD!
I’ll raise a Colorado Cool-aid in the air for them!
THANK YOU ALL for the nice words. Both of the Fragnito boys were outstanding individuals. As the franchise sank in the standings I realized that the #1 reason I kept attending these games was the comraderie (sp) I shared with my football family. It was a special time in a special place that I will never forget!
Good night to all of you.
Tim,
Of all the people here, I would have thought you were the last to fall for fake news. Here’s the real pic of Bectin running.
https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fthumbs.gfycat.com%2FFlamboyantUnripeDiplodocus-size_restricted.gif&f=1&nofb=1
Gonna throw this weird one out there. We trade for Jimmy Garoppolo who Flores was around with NE and Belichick – who loved him. I think we want to build the same type of team. Good in all phases and set up plays for playmakers.
So now that sets up Tom Brady to play for the 49ers, his hometown, and childhood idol in Joe Montana as a kid.
In this scenario just take it for what it is, that it’s happening. What would be the value you give up for a $100M QB so the 49ers can get Brady? I’d say we’ll give you a 3rd and take on the contract. Jimmy G is a good QB. He’s better than Fitz and Rosen. Most of the games he plays in he wins.
Watch us draft DT Derrick Brown to add to Godchaux and Wilkins where not only would they play together moving around, they would create mayhem every snap. That’s a sick three interior DL rotation.
Baker, McMillan and Eguavoen are the box LBs. Biegel, Van Ginkel, Taco etc. were not dominant as edge rushers. They play hard and can provide depth and STs.
Sign a big edge rusher in FA. That’s how the game is played.
So much smoke out there. Like it says in the article, isn’t it interesting that the information was leaked to a South Florida newspaper
I hope Grier and our front office isn’t this stupid.
this guy is in shape ran a 4.85 40

OD – My condolences on the loss of Pasquale.
I don’t understand. If Washington says they want Tua at #2 then why would they trade? It makes no sense. If they think he’s the guy, they take him. It’s all nonsense.
Lots of talk this morning about where Tom Brady is going, if Andy Dalton would replace him in NE. Also talk of Dak Prescott and why they might franchise tag him and let McCarthy see if he deserves a long term contract. It is interesting to see where the dominoes fall.
It’s a fun time to listen to NFL radio, so much going on right now between the draft and free agency. Sounds like Yannick Ngakoue is OUT for sure in Jax, says he wants to stay in FLA. Welcome to MIA young man!
Mike, I seen and heard a lot of theories some of them really unlikely. The Braided Coconut’s was the best though. NE going after Tanny and Tenn signing Brady. I had a good belly laugh at that one because he said it like he says so much BS as if it WILL happen.
Charlie Weis was on this morning talking about Brady to Da Raiders and Dalton to NE. I do think it’s very possible we get Ngakoue. If we don’t, and maybe even if we do, I still see Zack Baun being a Dolphin. I have no concrete reason, just seems like a the type of player we would want.
Some of you guys talking about players being out of shape up the board. Some of these guys need to eat like it’s their full time job just to maintain their weight. Especially some of the 300lb+ guys. You see them all the time after they retire dropping from 300+ to mid to high 200’s.
That must be fun to eat like that. I feel like I eat like that sometimes, I can put it away! lol
Tim, if Garoppolo is so good, why would the 49ers want to give him up? For a one or two year rental of a 42 yo Tom Brady? they supposedly have their franchise guy now…..
I was just throwing out some surprise type scenario.
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 5: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama (A)
Round 1 Pick 18: Grant Delpit, FS/SS, LSU (A)
Round 1 Pick 26: Josh Jones, OT, Houston (B)
Round 2 Pick 7: Tyler Biadasz, C/OG, Wisconsin (A-)
Round 2 Pick 24: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 3 Pick 6: Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State (A-)
Round 4 Pick 39 (COMP): Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+)
Round 5 Pick 7: Carter Coughlin, DE/OLB, Minnesota (A+)
Round 5 Pick 16: Mitchell Wilcox, TE, South Florida (A+)
Round 5 Pick 27: Ty Tyler, DE/OLB, Marshall (A+)
Round 6 Pick 6: Damien Lewis, OG, LSU (A+)
Round 6 Pick 18: Rodney Smith, RB, Minnesota (A+)
Round 7 Pick 32: Benito Jones, DT, Mississippi (A+)
Round 7 Pick 36 (COMP): Parnell Motley, CB, Oklahoma (A+)
That’s a killer perfect draft Wyo. I would love that.
Your 1st 7 through Mims are about as perfect as could be hoped for.
I’m high on Damien Lewis as a late steal.
I htink Mitch Wilcox can block Edge rushers. (Few TEs can do that one on one.)
I traded back with Gruden for #12 & #19 thinking they would take Tua who was still on the board. They took Herbert instead and Tua fell Jax at #9.
I would kill for this draft.

HELL NO The Dolphins should not trade for Yannick Ngakoue. Especially if them wanting a 1st plus more after franchise tagging him.
oops
I’d trade either our 2nd 1st RD or 3rd 1st RD pick for Ngakoue. It’s not that big of a deal. Unless you think you can get production like his from the draft, and we might. Still keep thinking Zack Baun is gonna be a guy for us.
No way – save those picks
If this guy is your best pass rusher by far, unless you think you can get someone better in the draft, why save it? I know there are 2 sides to everything and I love my picks, but if he can be a key player on your defense it’s worth it.
Ngakoue is a young and explosive pass rusher who’s not a good run defender and seems to like to air his grievances on Twitter. I don’t know if that’s what Flores is looking for…..at all. Reminds me a little of Mike Wallace.
I think they will draft a guy which could end up being Baun, Gross-Matos, Espensa, Jennings to name a few who can fit and be molded.
The problem isn’t the pick you have to give up to get him, it’s his salary, and maybe his play vs his ability.
Randy – Your thoughts on Zack Baun?
Steve – I don’t see us breaking the bank for any player at this time so you’re probably right. I can’t imagine us paying $20M for a pass rusher, especially not the best.

Thats a really good draft there.
Is that what they are saying we will get for Cam now? a 7th comp?
I’m sure there’s an explanation on Firstpick.com. But I didn’t look into it?
I was about to type that Baun reminded me of Clay Matthews, but i went to check what Zerlien said before i put it down because M13 use to always say that i copied him, so credit to Zerlein, i agree with him Clay Matthews is almost spot on comparable and if thats true, then thats a helluva guy to get. I agree, he seems like a prototype to me, with some ugliness in him too. I wouldnt be at all upset if the Phins brought him in, though i also think LB is one of the stronger areas we have right now.
Yeah i didnt think Scherff was going anywhere, the Bud Dupree tag seems a little crazy, but he’s a good player and you should always try to keep them if you can afford to.
Not sure if it happened yet but TB was going to tag Barrett
Does Miami consider making a trade for Trae Turner and sign Thuney in FA to solidify the OG spot? Make sure they still draft a good OG to eventually replace Turner.
I’m just really leery of giving these guys their “Big Payday.”
So many of them quit producing or just lay back for a couple years and rest on their laurels.
Give me the young and hungry draftees looking to make their mark.
Now if you can find a guy with latent talent who just needs the right situation to blossom,
then that’s the guys you want in FA.
IMHO
I agree Naples, but we do have a lot to spend, and I suspect most of it will be on midpack guys, but if there were a special talent that could elevate our team, unless the price is outrageous, we could be in on that.
I’m down with that if he wants to go for HoF numbers and take us to the SB.
Ahhh Jeez OD — great a guy as Pasquale was (what a whit)…. there is a time when you start expecting. But James too is just sad as sad comes. He was like my age and that of a whole bunch of us folks. Man ran a great tailgate and as good as they come.

LOL I skipped over Tua and took Herbert which I know will make some of your heads explode, but it caused the next 5 picks to be traded. Crazy mock draft.
I think Fuller could be the next Reshad Jones,
meaning a really good, steady, near pro bowl safety.
Let’s just be sure to build the whole team
so we don’t depend on a guy like that to be our best player
like we did with Reshad too often.
Pick #202 was so that Stanger could pull out one of his old jerseys.
If only Turk could punt as well as he bench presses. lol
I always wondered why ever team holds up Matt Turk’s jersey during the draft
MikeE,
Baun? Not a huge fan. I’m not sure where he’d play in the NFL. Edge rusher? WLB? He’s a good athlete….a little too twitchy for my taste, as he over plays some reads and runs past plays. His production, as far as sacks, was one year. And, if you look at the game stats, he didn’t do a whole lot against quality opponents. 2.5 sacks in 2018. 12.5 in 2019 but 3 vs. Kent. 2 vs Nebraska. 1 against CMU and 1 against USF. Only about 5 sacks against quality opponents. I don’t think he’ll be a prolific pass rusher.

I’ve seen him play a few times as I watch a lot of Big 10 football, but I can’t say I’ve seen enough to give an in-depth analysis. I know he hasn’t impressed me. I don’t see Clay Mathews. The only thing that reminds me of him is how they both like to rock in their presnap set….not a good thing. Baun is a very, very raw rusher technique wise. He’s got a really quick inside move that beats the occasional tackle but that’s about it. Without really doing a deep dive. I probably wouldn’t draft him. You can still hope for him though! 🙂
You don’t like anyone so we all have to take that into account. LOL
I just saw a report that JAX will not franchise Yannick and he said goodbye to the fans and was looking forward to playing somewhere else.

Tim,
I just try to give my honest opinion of a kid if someone asks. I usually don’t like to say anything about a guy if I’ve never even seen him play or only a few games. I don’t try to be negative, but it is a critique. I know some folks don’t really like it, so I don’t say much too often. Lol
Randy, I was just BBJK. You make a lot of great points and can debate, BBJK with the best of them. No worries, man. 🙂
There’s lots of ways we can go in the draft. But FA will set the table for what we may do. I’m excited to see who we target and then look at the roster after the fact. I don’t think any of us have experienced this kind of draft capital and cap space to work with.
Go Phins!!!
