This game is much more than Tua vs Herbert, I’ve just become fond of the mirror image bookend windups of both righty and lefty QB’s together. Don’t get me wrong, both of these players will play a large role in the game, but right now the Dolphins defense is an equal shareholder in the outcome of this team. I mentioned this the other day and I think this information is still sinking in. Half the season is completed and our Miami Dolphins are in the top 10 in offensive scoring (10th) at 27.8 PPG and 4th in defensive scoring at 20.1 PPG. We’re plus 61 in point differential. We knew this was year 1 of the rebuild after the tear down and I can’t imagine that any of us expected this type of result so quickly.
Emmanuel Ogbah has been so impressive this season. He has more sacks at the halfway point of the season (7) than he has had in any full season. His 13 QB hits are 3 away from topping his season best in which he started all 16 games. He’s playing 76% of the defensive snaps and is on pace to equal his rookie year of playing over 800 snaps. The thing is, it’s not just Ogbah, everyone is making plays. Ogbah has started them with the strip sacks in back to back games but Andrew Van Ginkel scooped up one fumble and ran it back for a TD and then the next week it was Shaq Lawson with the scoop and the fumble recovery TD return. Elandon Roberts has made some big defensive stops. Byron Jones and Xavien Howard have been balling although last week Howard struggled all day. Eric Rowe has been playing very well along with Bobby McCain. Big Raekwon Davis, Zach Sieler and Christian Wilkins have been money on the defensive line. If I asked you which Dolphins DB has the most passes defensed I’d be willing to bet nearly all of you would guess wrong. It’s Eric Rowe with 9. BTW, Shaq Lawson is just one shy of Ogbah with 12 QB hits. You don’t hear his name as much but he’s getting it done.
The 2-6 Chargers come in 17th in offensive scoring at 25.6 PPG and 21st in defensive scoring at 27 PPG and they have a -11 point differential. This Chargers defense was supposed to be better with Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, Denzel Perryman, Kenneth Murray etc. The Chargers recently traded away safety Desmond King and now have the duo of Rayshawn Jenkins and Nasir Adderly. The Chargers defense hasn’t been what they expected but their offense has been humming despite the running back carousel of Austin Ekeler (IR), Joshua Kelley and Justin Jackson. Ekeler is the most explosive of the crew and he’s been on IR for weeks. The Chargers are now featuring RB’s Kalen Ballage and Troymaine Pope due to injuries to Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley. WR Keenan Allen leads the team in receptions followed by WR Mike Williams. No longer does that dominant TE control the middle of the field (Antonio Gates). Still, QB Justin Herbert is having a fantastic rookie season completing 67% of his passes with 17 TD’s and only 5 INT’s and 2146 yards passing.
For our Dolphins, the hope is that Matt Breida will be healthy or we’ll see the committee of Jordan Howard, Salvon Ahmed and Patrick Laird. Ahmed looked to have some giddyup while Jordan Howard ran like he had a blocking sled tied to his waist. Ahmed had 38 yards on 7 carries and a long carry of 19 yards. Breida is questionable with a hamstring injury. WR Preston Williams is on IR with a foot injury sustained on his TD catch against the Cards. There’s a chance we will see WR Antonio Callaway this week as he makes his long journey back to an NFL gameday roster, his last NFL action was 11/3/19. Jakeem Grant was more involved in the passing game than usual and he stepped up. Tua now makes his third NFL start, his 2nd at home. I would think the small crowd will be in a frenzy. I just hope we can keep up the good work we’ve done the last 4 games.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

I didn’t give the Pets much of a chance in this game, but they just went up 14-10. Go Pets! 🤮🤮
Make that 13-10 LMAO
Don’t count points or Ws before they happen 😁
LMAO! Nice one to call it a night and go out on.
Cheers 🙂

After the fact, I’m glad Sanders missed. It didn’t hurt us, since won anyways, and takes the pressure off of him.
Someone above mention a kicker not missing all year, until the playoffs. It was Gary Anderson, the miss would’ve given the Vikings a 2 score lead and would’ve propelled them into the SB, instead of the Falcons that shat the bed against Denver in 98.
=====================
Agreed, perfect is never good, it’s not natural. Get that out of the way and make everyone of them from here on out. LOL
I am out Peace
Ugh, I just cheered the Pets on that 4th down stop.
I know it sux.
I may have to boil water after this game. I’m not sure the water heater will get the water hot enough for me to feel clean afterwards. 😂
Lmao. It is so unnatural
It’s great to be able to root for them, because their record sucks. They’re still a tough game, but don’t look to be going anywhere this year.
I won’t feel bad if they lose today. Like to see them buried and out of the picture. Ravens are getting banged up. And not looking too formidable
What a schmuck Ingram, lol. Pick up the ball and make a play, if you fumble its 4th down anyways😏
This weather helps the cheats, with their running game.
Newton sucks. I know it’s pouring, but dude was wide open.
Those two look a lot alike
OH shit. Even the Pets knew right away that leg got broke
How unlike them… game we went to there Wake went down, crowd booed him as he was helped up and off the field
Because Wake over the years kicked their ass😋
Still very classless
Yeah, nasty hit on Boyle.
Yeah that’s bad
Pets with the incredibly favorable spot
Some things never change.
Yeah, even Collinsworth commented on how the ref put the ball down in a completely different place than where he had his foot marking the spot. I thought Cam was a good half yard short.
Wow cheats just got a very fortunate spot. No way was that a 1st down.
The guy sporting the ball even signaled 4th down.
blatant
Wow, huge botched snap may have just cost the Ravens the game.
Dolphins move into the #6
Yep, we’re #6.
FN cheats they still get holding calls for them at just the right time.
Wow 6 AFC teams at 6-3 and 1 at 7-3.
And only 2 teams worse than Houston’s 2-7, 4 at 2-7.
6-3!
Another team effort with all phases contributing to the win as others have noted.
It appears we might have a TEAM!
I can’t remember the last time I saw this organization as a team…..a team with a plan.
What a concept!?
Ken and Kong,
Thanks for the info about the game. Excited to see another total team win and enjoying the games not coming quite down to the final seconds. In five of our wins we knew were going to get there with a few minutes to spare and even the Cards game we knew with a minute left. Hopefully Flores hates nail biters as much as me.
👍
I love listening to WQAM on radio.com, it’s so nice to hear about the Dolphins rather than hearing shit about the Jets and Giants.
Well the Gmen got a nice win to move past Houston.
Who’s Seth Walder and what is FPI?
FPI = full pork influence
Unless the cheats can beat the Bills and we beat all 3 we lose in a division tie breaker, so that’s why the Bills are favored to win the division.
Buffalo’s remaining schedule LAC, at SF, Pitt, at Den, at NE, Mia.
Hopefully we’re tied with them for the division and its winner take all in week 17.
Week 17 winner take the division winner take the division would be something. I wish that was in Miami
Houston still has to play the cheats, Det, Indy twice, Chi, Cin and close out against Tenn, so unless they suddenly get motivated it’s looking pretty good for a top 10 pick.
The best thing I heard about our win yesterday was good TEAM win, by players fans and media.
Fins are taking on Flores’ personality. Every position is just as important as the next. The No Name Dolphins.
With Marino, if he didn’t play great we’d mostly lose and with Fitz, if he was Fitztragic we’d also lose.
With 2a he doesn’t make too many mistakes and gives the team a great chance to win every week, because he leads scoring drives and takes care of the ball.
It’s hard to beat a team that throws a punch and doesn’t beat themselves.

I was thinking 27-13 first instinct, buy Wyo already had it… so upped the effort on both sides of the ball LOL.
Denver ‘season stats’ for yardage allowed and gained are very very close to Fins but PA and PF show the difference in execution… plus the way the two teams are trending.
Maybe Howie’s List should be how many Take Aways Fins get (Lock vs our DBs? oh yeah).

Just about to post that our Rookie DL is showing up like our Rookie OL. Stowbridge too had a good game.
Lots of both OL and DL rookies were considered “reaches” but clearly Grier/Flores know the type of guy they want (which I have a feeling has a lot to do with attitude: coachable, physical, team oriented).
Davis wasn’t a reach he was a value pick, he was supposed to be a 1st rounder. Stowbridge im not sure of, he wasn’t someone i invested heavily in looking at ;last year, but i had heard some people talking about him being a very good selection for us, so i dont know if he wasn’t also a value pick at that spot. Jones as an UDFA was one of the best UDFA’s available so when we snagged him i knew that was a good grab.
Thing about rookies is nobody knows what you got until they put on the pads. That kid from Boise State everyone was raving about what a great pick he was but he doesn’t make the roster. Everyone was kind of meh about Strowbridge but he was out there making plays yesterday
Hunger makes the player. No matter what stage you are at, you have to be hungry for more to drive yourself. Some of these guys are very hungry.

That snap-fumble would have been things that completely unraveled our team in the past. It did make the game closer than it needed to be, but Flores kept everyone in check and i think Tua is becoming a really peaceful presence on the field. He remains very composed, something he did at Alabama as well. I think thats Saban’s doing, and though i hate to give him credit for anyone, but Tua, Some of them aren’t great at handling pressure, as in play pressure, but the game isnt too big for any of them, so mentally they are all seemingly very prepared.
It was a good overall win. We again won on all three phases of the game. We played semi-disciplined, not too many mistakes, and we had a different crew of leaders this time than last time, meaning people are taking up the slack for others, which is great.
Best stat about Tua is 3 starts 5TD passes 0 ints. That is difference between Tua and Fitz
Used to be on Mondays I was so pissed at losing I couldn’t get anything done at work. Now I am so elated at winning I can’t get anything done at work
My wife just got quarantined because someone in her cohort is positive. We are going to get tested today. We have no symptoms but to be cautious
Good luck Ken, and Mrs Ken
Wow, hope everything comes up negative!
Fingers crossed
Because the Dolphins D is a BEAST
I was so tired of hearing them mention he was perfect through the season, they jinxed him. He musta only missed by inches because i swear to go i thought it went through both on the live kick and the replay lol.

——————————————————
We had another brush with it down here. My mom was visited after the hurricane by family members, 3 of which tested positive for covid just after being around her. 2 right now are hospitalized, and the other 3 are still quarantining. I was around my mom just after them, so i was also at her house where they had been a few times, visited her again, with my kids and my sister had come over as well to take my mom back to her house in Columbus GA, exposing her entire family. Luckily, no one outside those original 5 tested positive. My mom, who hugged the 3 that had visited her, my kids, my sister and myself, who hugged my mom, all negative and lucky as shit.
Earlier this year it was my son exposed to it by a kid at his school, but he dodged the bullet there too.
Hope ya’ll are equally as lucky.
I also got tired of hearing Gumble go out of his way to pronounce Ahmed…Ackmed….in like dude, there is no c or k there, where the fuck are ya getting the Ack. Also did you see that several times they drew up the play as how they saw it and it was completely different as how they thought they saw it? lame. That was bad announcing, just really horrible,
I keep wondering why they keep saying Akmed. WTF?
Oh and did anyone else catch the thumb up the ass the trainer gave one of the DT’s when they were checking them out for hip injury. Cant remember who got the “goose” but they jumped pretty good when he first poked him.
Yes!!! That was whacked. WTF happened. I think it was Van Noy actually

Big day for Nik Needham. Keenan Allen caught 1 ball on 3 targets for 11 yards on Needham. He had a sack and three run stops in the game (tackles on runs within two yards of the LOS), per PFF.
— Travis Wingfield (@WingfieldNFL) November 16, 2020
—————————————————-
Yeah, but……. he missed so big tackles too. He’s a good player and he leaves it all out on the field, but he really needs to practice open field tackling.
He had a nice suplex on Hunter Henry
The Ahmed/Achmed thing was driving me crazy. Announcers did it last week too.
Like i couldn’t even help myself, they would say Achmed, and id say Ahmed out loud, and that went on like the whole game i couldn’t help myself.
https://boltbeat.com/2020/11/15/la-chargers-justin-herbert-tua-tagovailoa-grades/amp/3/
Somewhat balanced report from the fan of the opposing team, definitely slanted and biased, but its a fan report so what do you expect.
D, I had thought we might see Nick Coe brought up but guess he is behind Strowbridge and they needed more beef in Benito Jones.
We have nice depth. I think with this depth, Wilkins, Seiler, and Davis, I believe they let Davon Godchaux walk in F/A and draft another NT/DT. Davon is solid but Seiler makes more plays and we haven’t seen the best of Davis yet.
Yeah thats basically what i thought, and i was hoping for both our sake and Godchaux was he would ball out this year and get paid in FA and we might get a comp pick for him in the middle rounds and he would get a nice pay day, but unfortunately he got hurt in a contract year which sucks.I didn’t expect us to re-sign him even before he got hurt unless it was for a team friendly deal.
I think Wilkins and Davis are a studly duo on the DL. Seiler is a good effort player who can flex in an out of inside/outside duties, then ya have Jones who is a good big bodied guy in the middle, so i dunno if we need a NT or a DE/DT hybrid like Barmore. If there was one player id use the Houston pick on, and not trade it, it is probably Barmore. If we went the NT route and added depth there and maybe got Davis in better condition to play the DE/DT hybrid,id for sure be going for Slayton from UF’s defense. He would maybe be our second second pick.
Yesterday’s win was so-so, but even though it felt like they were moving the ball at will sometimes, we kept them out of the endzone for pretty much the whole game until garbage time. Ballage was allowed to get some glory while we kept the Herbert damage to a minimum. SD did a good job of getting him in space, which is where he shines, but he’s still the same DT3 V.2 he was here. I was surprised we didn’t see him try to hurdle one of our defenders (his signature move). The announcers kept saying that the Chargers couldn’t believe he was on the waiver wire and Anythony Lynn was quoted as asking him, “tell me what’s wrong with you, so we can fix it.” I laughed out loud when they said that.
I like that Tua is always looking downfield and anticipating the play to develop, but he ignored some wide open people where we could have converted 3rd down and instead threw a 50/50 ball to someone only for it to be incomplete. We were lucky that we got that offsides on the FG try that gave us a first down after one of those plays failed to convert.
I want to see more Malcolm Perry, but I wish they’d stop putting him in at QB. Gesicki needs to toughen up so he can catch more of those contested balls. He had too many incompletions yesterday. Grant could show him a thing or too. lol.
I know on a couple of his drops i was like “Mike, there is the reason he isn’t being targeted as much anymore.”

It is nice to be sitting in 5th place in the AFC in conference win percentage this morning with .600
that doesn’t put us in 5th position for the playoffs unfortunately, but it is the first tie breaker between to clubs. We look pretty good right now.
Lawyers! 😉
Kinda figured that was BS. You’d never see a Gator helping a Bulldong in anything…..JK i know nothing of this case.
I kinda agree with SB7, there were ho-hum parts of the game. I saw some really good things by Tua and some parts where i was like he ran through his read progression and got back to a guy who was pretty covered and threw to him because there was more to gain on that throw, and i do think he will need to learn to get the ball to the open receive when he first comes to it and take that mid range to short range pass and let the receivers do the rest. He is trying to hard to make every decision he make be the perfect one and get the most out of every play and he needs to learn to put some of that on the talent and let them do thee rest.
Hard to fault Tua though, he is playing very poised and the game actually seems slow for him at times. I think he had an excellent game, but as with anything he has things to work on and those things will eventually polish with time and repetition.
Yup. Still learning. He’ll see those misses on film this week and get better. Keep the chains moving instead of forcing the big play, eventually those shots will open up.
Yeah i saw PFF had us rated in the lower half of the OL’s in the NFL and im just not seeing that. The OL has been pretty damn good. They had LAC’s OL significantly higher than ours and they got worked at all spots by our DL.

Yeah! AND the dumb asses keep adding an N to Tua’s name too!! They keep saying ToNguevailoa. Tagovailoa doesn’t have an N it it!!
(This post is a farcical poke at D just in case anyone missed that, as regardless of spelling, that is how both names are pronounced.)
Talk above about 2a not doing this or that and other things that we need to work on…I consider these things a positive, because we’ve been winning and aren’t close to where we might be at the end of the season.
In years past we had to play a perfect game to beat some of these teams, not so much any longer.
We seem to do what needs to be done to win, while reducing the risk, and not what needs to be done to have a perfect game.
I am still really pissed that we made Cam Newton look god like in our first meeting. Losing by 3 to Buff sucked too, but they at least have continued to look like a good team.
WHAT!! ??
https://www.nfl.com/news/no-doubt-about-dolphins-legitimacy-after-win-over-chargers
At this point, no team is playing better complementary football than the Dolphins. In the last three weeks, their special teams have blocked a punt and returned a punt for a touchdown in separate games; their defense has two strip sacks that were returned for touchdowns, and an interception on Sunday by Xavien Howard stalled an attempted comeback. At the same time, Miami’s offense has continued to improve behind Tagovailoa, the rookie first-round pick who is poised beyond his years
Is Iggy even getting came time these days? If he is I and the box score missed it.
Not much, but it’s probably the hardest position for a rookie to play, so having him learn, while not being counted on too much is a luxury.
First round is still first round though….. even if yeah glad we can still play well back there without him.
I thought we’d struggle more with Wilkins out, but looks like some guys stepped up. We’ve come a long way the past 2 years.
I mentioned in the offseason that it’s easier to play like we did at the end of last year knowing there’s no pressure to win, and it doesn’t easily transfer over to this year, but it did. Flores has done an incredible job.
Flores even has the media parroting complimentary football. I guess it’s really easy to come to that conclusion though.

I’m thinking will come down to the final Phins v Bills game. And Jan 3 in Buffalo can get a bit chilly.
Damn, not an insider.
In regards to the pronunciation of player names the phonetic pronunciations are provided by the teams and players to the broadcasters so they are only pronouncing the names they are told they should be pronounced such as Ahmed is pronounced Akmed because the h in Arabic has a harder sound to it than it does in the English language and that is how the player wants his name pronounced. Just how there is an N pronounced in Tua’s last name because that is how it is pronounced in the Samoan language and that is how Tua wants his name pronounced

The Jags over the Steelers. (LOL)

Notice; the Dolphins logo appears NOWHERE in the right column. We are not the easiest team on anyone’s schedule.
😉
Dolphins ain’t on anyone’s easiest list at this point. You want to beat this team…. gotta wait till at least the third date.
D – Not sure if you saw my reply to you up above. I did see the trainer stick his thumb in a players ass. It was Van Noy. That was the craziest looking shit ever. WTF could possibly be the reason for that? They cut away right after that. lol
If he doesn’t react immediately then he can’t play because something is really wrong 😮
I know they keep emailing him to apply not sure he nor I want him to go that far but he did apply so we shall see
That was supposed to be in reply to Cav above
Van Noy is from the San Francisco area. He needed a taste of home to boost his spirits after the injury. And it worked! He was back in the 3rd quarter.
So I should not send my son to the University of San Francisco?
USF is a great school
The subject is what are the sleeper teams?
Kellerman says miami. Steven a says the raiders and ryan clark goes buffalo? How is buffalo a sleeper team weren’t they projected to win the east? This guy should not be on any football shows. Hes a moron.
We have three games in a row against inferior teams. Hopefully the team improves each week and gets 3 wins to take us into the last 4 against quality opponents.
Don’t count Ws….lol
Hey, I compromised and put a hopefully in there 😉
Thing about hoping for 3-0 is only other thing you can do is not get 3-0. Don’t think this team is good enough overlook any team….. except maybe the Jets.
This is the first team in 15 years I think is good enough that as fans we can start having expectations, and part of the reason for that is they don’t overlook anyone. Not sure how expectation of quality play and overlooking became the same thing either.
I just hate to get my expectations up, they’ve been crushed too many times before. So I’m counting on 2-1, will be be real happy with 3-0 and crushed if we go 1-2 in those 3.
Man, I hope our coaches are raided this off-season. Let us have some success before you steal our guys!
***Aren’t raided.
Let’s have a great season first and then we’ll worry about our coaches going elsewhere. So far so good on that front.
They can raid Gailey
LOL @ Kong and Ken! Honestly, I was just watching and then saw that and was just shocked. Never expected that. Did he say my lower back hurts and the trainer stuck his thumb in his ass and said “Here?”

LOL, now I’m just hoping we get past this first game against Denver.
I might have put my foot in it and written checks the Dolphins can’t cash. I’ve put all my eggs in one basket, grabbed 2 birds in the bush instead of taking the one in the hand. It’s ok though, even if we start slow I might feel down, but not out. It’s probably a really nice RV
OD sheds a tear (maybe many, many tears and hates Ross even more, if possible)

“Behind Lock on the depth chart are Brett Rypien and Jeff Driskel, both of whom have made starts for the club in 2020.”
None of the three will have a clue against our defense

Sounds like he needs a thumb up his ass at a minimum . . .
Impressive find there Kong
Wasn’t Patrick Graham here and about to be our DC but decided to go to the Giants instead? Am I remembering that correctly?
Anyway the Giants are pretty pleased with him so far.
Herbert is another Tannehill, I’m glad he’s there.
Happy to have Tua even though I wasn’t a huge fan in the draft season. I am now.
Why is Hulk beating up Harambe?
Joke may be on me, and if they asked him the pronunciation and that’s part of the prep for the announcemers so be it but I just watched a video of his RB coach at Washington calling him Ah-Med not Ack-Med.i saw others pronouncing bit Ack-Med to but they were all announcers. So for whatever that’s worth.
Regardless it threw me off game so doesn’t really matter if it was right or not it still threw me off lol
Seiler is the kind of guy we used to kick aside and he’d go on to have an impressive career usually with NE or Buff. Good to see us building with guys who buy in and are productive. He was developed here and we’ll get to see him flourish.
