2021 NFL Draft – Less than 3 weeks away!

Draft day is approaching very quickly, so much so that I can already envision the arguments about who we took, when we took them and why we didn’t take this guy or that guy. It’s coming. Chris Grier and Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins Scouting team will be questioned, ridiculed and revered by others all after 4 days of the draft in which the Dolphins currently hold 8 selections, starting with picks 5,18 in RD 1, 36 and 50 in RD 2, 81 in RD 3, 156 in RD 4 and then a long wait until picks 231 and 258 in RD 7. As usual, you can almost certainly expect some movement by our team in the draft, we have a history of wheeling and dealing, moving up back and all around at different junctures of the draft.

I think for the most part, the majority here understand that we need to help our QB by giving him better weapons on offense, and that could mean at a variety of positions including the trenches to give him better throwing lanes as well as keeping him healthy, more talent and reliability at receiver whether that receiver is a WR or TE and a durable ballcarrier who can also be a quality receiver out of the backfield. An easy way to have the QB improve is to give him better players around, see Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans for proof of such. We also have needs on defense but we made two key moves to make us better up the middle. First move was trading for ILB Benardrick McKinney to pair him with #55 Jerome Baker. We then signed FA DT John Jenkins. We do have AVG and Vince Biegel coming back on the outside but Biegel is coming off a torn achilles. He showed some promise before the injury, but whether the Dolphins are going to count on him remains to be seen. We need to get pressure from the edge, so I’d expect us to be looking at either an OLB or OLB/DE tweener who can rush the passer both standing up and with his hand in the ground.

Who are the most likely targets? I see mocks split for pick #6 with the usual suspects, WR Ja’Marr Chase, WR, DeVonta Smith, TE Kyle Pitts and OL Penei Sewell and Rashawn Slater. Once you get past our first pick, things as expected get more muddled. #18 is all over the map, from RB Najee Harris to EDGE rushers Kwity Paye, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Gregory Rousseau and Jaelan Phillips. Who we take at #6 will undoubtedly affect who we take next. If we don’t take a receiver with our first pick, say we go with an OL then I’m inclined to believe our next pick will be a WR. I can’t see going forward with the WR corps we currently have without finding a dependable, reliable high talent WR in this draft. I suppose receivers like Kadarius Toney or Rashod Bateman or Terrace Marshall could be the guy but I think we go for top tier talent here and either Chase, Smith or Pitts is the first pick. I’ll get more into the rest of the draft next week, and I’m sure there will be even more speculation, rumor and innuendo to discuss next week.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

There’s so many options, hard to see how we can screw it up

    • Mike E. says:

There will always be detractors no matter what we do. I agree though, we’re in great position to really improve our team

  2. steveccnv says:

Kadarius Toney is a guy I’d have a hard time drafting. When watching the Gators in 2020 their O looked unstoppable, but only when Pitts was playing

  3. Ken says:

    Nice write up Mike E

  4. steveccnv says:

    Yeah nice write Mike!

Here’s something I find interesting: An easy way to have the QB improve is to give him better players around, see Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans for proof of such.

I agree all game managers need better players around them…at least until they get their feet under them

    • steveccnv says:

I’m thinking maybe it’s best to just improve the O early, but is Najee at 18 too early? I don’t know, but it would be nice to trade down with GB and get their 2nd, then select him.

TB, Pitts, Jets x2, Atl and Buffalo all need RBs and pick between 18 and 36.

We don’t really need 6 picks in the top 3 rounds, I suppose we can just take Najee at 18, after a WR or Pitts at 6.

I didn’t know Waddle played slot before this morning, he could really feast there in our O.

Again so many options with little chance to screw it up.

When you take players early like OL, WR and TEs, it takes them a season to get their feet under them, but RB doesn’t, so I can see Harris hitting the ground running

      • Ken says:

I like Najee a lot. I don’t think 18 is too early. I know there are these ideas about draft value and when to pick certain positions but I always believe if you like the player and you think he is going to improve your team then draft him. Who cares if it is at 18 or 35

  5. Phindog says:

Nice write Mike E !! I think getting Tua some talented weapons is what we need. If Pitts is there at 6 he’s ours.

  6. sb7mvp says:

I know it’s covidy times, but does anyone in the North want to try a small meet up for Day 2 of the draft?

  7. sb7mvp says:

Regardless of who is here at QB, we still need offensive weapons and more defensive playmakers. We’ve got the firepower, the FO just needs to make the right picks.

  8. steveccnv says:

Do you want a Waddle, that can take the top off of a D and make the chain moving catches from the slot

A Pitts, that’s going to be a beast all over the field, 3rd down, redzone…

A Najee, that can catch, run inside and out, line up as H back

A Chase, that can run slants and catch contested balls

A Smith, that can separate, but might not be able to at pro level

A Williams, that can do almost everything Najee can, except H Back, and maybe better

How about Pitts, Waddle, if he’s there at 18 and Williams at 36, if not Najee. Get 2 or 3 top O playmakers

  9. steveccnv says:

I want overkill on O, let’s blow it out of the water

  10. stangerx says:

Good take on it Mike E.

Will point one of the ways Tanny got better was lining up behind an O with a stellar running game. Sewell with the first pick and an RB with the 2nd or 3rd would go a long way towards making that happen.

    • Mike E. says:

Better running game, much better O-line and of course Derrick Henry, and a pro bowl caliber receiver in A.J. Brown and and solid Corey Davis. Get Chase and Najee Harris and I do believe we can do some of the same things TEN does. Regardless, Tua must step up as well, but I don’t think he’s going to let us down.

  11. Mike E. says:

    Thanks guys!

SB – I don’t think I can do it, just started this job, won’t be able to get off.

  12. sb7mvp says:

    Ken,
I was thinking of meeting in NY/NJ.

  13. stangerx says:

sb7 — Phelon has a place in Woodbridge, unless he sold it when he got his place in the Keys. Doesn’t help much now, but I used to live in Fairfax and Arlington counties (various places) before came down here.

Been to this new place yet
    It looks pretty cool

    ————————-
Pig — never even heard of it, but then we haven’t gone out much cause of the bug. Does look really cool. Maybe we’ll do a check out after the 2nd shot. Not far away at all.

  15. steveccnv says:

I like Najee a lot too Ken, but is he a product of Alabama or is he as good as he played last year?

    • Ken says:

Alabama turns some pretty good players especially RBs. I don’t know if you can say that it’s a just a product of Alabama. I mean he is a product of Alabama because Alabama can recruit special talent

      • steveccnv says:

Lots of their players are drafted high and are busts, RBs too

      • Ken says:

I don’t know Alabama plays against some elite talent in the SEC and every school has busts but Alabama seems to have a lot players that produce at the next level

      • steveccnv says:

Harris may have a little more upside, but Williams has a higher floor

  16. bailbondmike says:

I had to step back and rethink things. There are quite a few players I like in the 1st 2 rounds. I decided to narrow it down to players that have to be game planned for.

Looking at who might be there at #6 it is Pitts for me. I don’t think there is anyone in this draft who would have to be game planned against more.

Parsons – highly possible but not enough game tape for me to decide
    Chase – Maybe
    Waddle – Maybe

Then, most likely, all above are gone by #18. I don’t see any other players offense or defense who would really need to be game planned for except one, Najee Harris.

So it is Pitts and Harris for me in the 1st.

Now we need help with pass rush. In second round, I am thinking Collins, Ossai, Cox and Tryon.
I have not seen much from Collins in pass rush (maybe I am wrong) but like him a lot. Trying to look for versatility, I am leaning toward Ossai and Cox.

Right now, I think I would really like to see:
    1a Kyle Pitts
    1b Najee Harris
    2a Joseph Ossai
    2b Jabril Cox

    • steveccnv says:

Haven’t really looked at Ossai, was watching some game tape of Chase and he kept showing up

    • bailbondmike says:

Let me reset on that. Scratch Ossai, I like him a lot also but forgot he is a little slow at the snap. When I watched tape on him, it seems like he is the last one off the snap in most cases. His athletic ability enables him to overcome that. If he ever fixes that, he will be a force! So it’s
      Pitts
      Harris
      Tryon/Collins
      Cox

  17. mf13ss says:

I think selecting either Najee or Javonte @ R1P18 may be a bit premature, BUT, if we really want to be ahead of the curve and have our pick of the litter, we almost have to… barring a slight trade down from R1P18.

I’d like to be able to wait til R2P4 to get our RB, but if the run on RBs begins between R1P19 to R2P3, we could be $#!t out of luck.

So with that said, I like BBM’s 1:49 PM post above. To me, it’s a bitter pill to swallow in terms of value, but it’s very realistic and pragmatic.

  18. mf13ss says:

I’m 100% locked-in on wanting to get Micah Parsons as our EGDE, just not @ R1P6… nor do I want to trade down from R1P6. I also want the pick of the litter of this year’s best RB… I want it ALL.

Now, if only we had that additional early pick back we sent to the TV preacher that was screwing the hockey players…

    • stangerx says:

We’ve got four picks in the top 50. There are only 32 teams. Think this rebuild is getting us draft spoiled. Won’t always be like this. 🙂

      • Mike E. says:

Absolutely true, I kind of have the feeling we’d prefer to have just one pick in every round at the end of each round with maybe a couple of compensatory picks tossed in for good measure.

      • stangerx says:

Exactly what we want….. unless that last pick is cause the Niners won the Bowl.

  19. The Flying Pig says:

    BBMike

    Don’t you bad mouth Ossai!
    He belongs in Dolphins colors!

I like the idea of your picks in the first and second though where you might have that shot at some one like Ossai or Tryon

    Playmaker (pitts/chase) at 6
    RB at 18
Then the two defensive players in the 2nd round

RB is a weird position come draft time

Once the run starts, it picks up fast
    There’s a huge gap between 18 and 36

I would rather be starting the run than praying for it to last until 36

If we are targeting Harris or Williams it might be tough to wait until 36

    • Mike E. says:

I don’t mind if we don’t get Harris but get Javonte Williams. If we miss on both of them I’m going to be thinking we once again underestimated the RB position in the draft

      • The Flying Pig says:

        I mean

        There’s always Etienne

He’s not the kind of back that gets 20+ carries but he may be more of a play maker than anyone

He’s not ideal IMO but I can’t not mention him as an option

I think we missed at the position last year and it put us behind the 8 ball on offense every week

So I wouldn’t risk waiting too long if I were the FO

I actually prefer Williams to Harris
But I think if we pick at 18, it’s going to be Harris

    • stangerx says:

Depends on whether there is that one RB for the Miami Gardens crew. Could either trade down from #18 or up from #36.

  20. mf13ss says:

Penalty! Stanger and Mike E! Failure to recognize a “Christmas Vacation” reference! 15-yard penalty, automatic 1st down!

    LOL 😆

    • Mike E. says:

      Oops!

    • stangerx says:

Guess the penalty is for not getting something from a movie I never watched but should have. Fair enough. I throw out movie stuff all the time, and just possible some may have not seen The Warriors. 🙂

      • mf13ss says:

You’ve never seen “Christmas Vacation”, man? You’ve been missing out! It’s one of the most quotable movies of all-time. Do yourself a favor and watch it some time! You should LOVE it!

      • steveccnv says:

        Yeah, but…can you dig it

      • stangerx says:

M13 — I may. Stopped watching Vacations cause get even more goofy. But if is a must probably should.

steve — yeah can dig it….. right till Cyrus gets shot and have to find the way back to Coney.

  21. Mike E. says:

Piggy – I like Harris because of his pass catching ability too

  22. The Flying Pig says:

We’ve officially moved into the portion of April when you start to get nervous that we won’t get any of the prospects you want

  23. mf13ss says:

I know that Pigs and I are greedy when it comes to the Draft… we want to milk every single ounce of milk out of that cow. And we STILL want more. Can’t help it!

  24. The Flying Pig says:

    • stangerx says:

Let’s hope for that 2nd year jump. Thing that bothered me the most about him last year was the plays that didn’t happen. Gotta stretch the field.

      • steveccnv says:

He played like he didn’t want to be the reason we lost. Big difference playing for a team with something to play for, in comparison to Herbert and Burrow.

Big Ben and Brady were just game managers their 1st year

Definitely wait until the Christmas season to view it… wait til you see the full effect, with the hump!
(“The Pink Panther Strikes Back” reference)

    • mf13ss says:

That was probably a badly worded transition to yet another movie, but was wondering if you had dug this movie?

      • steveccnv says:

The movie was entertaining, it had some issues though

      • mf13ss says:

There’s something about the “Pink Panther” movies that I dearly enjoy. It’s likely the British humor, though I’m actually not big on British humor.

I like most (but not all) of the Monty Python humor, but I’m no fan of Benny Hill, for example. I like Bean, but it wears out very quickly to me (same old act).

Peter Sellers, IMO, was incredible as “Inspector Clouseau”. Loved that Pink Panther stuff!

  26. Mike E. says:

I always loved the Pink Panther movies. A lot of silly slapstick but that stuff kills me sometimes, like the Three Stooges. I can’t help myself from laughing.

  27. CavalierKong says:

Christmas Vacation is one of the 3 or 4 movies we watch every single December. Fun movie, and IMO the only Vacation movie that is in the same category of ‘good’ as the original. Soooo quotable.

    “Merry Christmas! Shitter was full!”

“Hallelujah! holy shit! where’s the tylenol?”

“Where do you think you’re going to fit a tree that big? Bend over and I’ll show ya. You have a lot of nerve talking to me that way, Griswold. I wasn’t talking to you.” (indicating the guy’s wife)

“The little lights are not twinkling. I know, Art, and thanks for noticing.

“You see kids, this is what our forefathers used to do. They walked out into the woods, they picked out that special tree and they cut it down with their bare hands.”

“I don’t know if I oughta go sailin’ down no hill with nothin’ between the ground and my brains but a piece of government plastic. Do you really think it matters, Eddie?

    and of course……..”You serious, Clark?”

  28. stangerx says:

    Q for you guys.

Would you trade #18 for a 1st next year and a 2021 2nd? Lets make it with Raiders.

    • The Flying Pig says:

      No

      • stangerx says:

Why not? I just see two guys instead of one.

      • The Flying Pig says:

Bc we need to start adding talent now

You can’t afford to keep pushing it over a year

We have a little window of opportunity
Our QB is going into his second year
Our young OL might continue to develop
Our defense is playing relatively well

We are ripe to add multiple difference makers this year, that may bed up being the difference in winning big games 2-3 years from now

Now is no he time to load up on young talent

      • stangerx says:

Guess I’m just a bit more patient on it. Don’t think the team is ready to contend yet.

    • Mike E. says:

Not if there’s a player we want there. There comes a point where you want to make the team better now and stop putting things off for the next year. I would hope we’re close enough to compete for a division this year so I want the best team we can have this season.

      • stangerx says:

Someone like Parsons is sitting there then yeah take him, but gonna be some nice players in the first round of the next draft too. And we’d get one in the 2nd.

    • steveccnv says:

      Why would we do that?

  29. Mike E. says:

I think I’ve only seen Christmas Vacation once and may not have been totally paying attention either. Guess I’m gonna have to take a legit looksee at it

  30. bailbondmike says:

If we miss on Harris or Williams, I am passing Etienne unless maybe at #50. Etienne is good but I would rather wait and possibly get Williams’ counterpart at UNC in Michael Carter at 81. He is not as fast as Etienne but he is an ankle breaker and Etienne is not. Another at #81 is Kenneth Gainwell but he is a little light.

  31. The Flying Pig says:

I feel like some one around here has oinked something like this before

    • Mike E. says:

I think he’s the total package of talent, size and dependability. I wasn’t too worried about Smith’s frame early on, but then we picked up Will Fuller who’s always hurt and we still have Parker as our #1 who’s always dealing with nagging injuries and that changed my mind.

  32. Mike E. says:

Stanger – It sounds appetizing, your trade scenario, but like I said, I think we need to add talent now, and don’t worry so much about picking up additional draft capital. We’ve had 2 years in a row where we’ve had multiple first and second round picks, so I think we should make our hay and get what we can now. If there’s no particular player sitting there that we like then it’s a different story, but doubt that will be the case.

    • stangerx says:

That trade would be a typical one as far as value….. so there really is no right on wrong as to take it or not. More about strategy. And not like the team isn’t willing to do such. Traded back from #3 to #6 for future picks.

  33. pheloniusphish says:

SB7 – I’m still in Hoodbridge, but right now I plan on being at Hard Rock for the Day 1 draft party so I won’t be around.

    • The Flying Pig says:

      I think he’s fundamentally wrong

It might be right to suggest Miami made the trade eyeing more than two prospects

But I think they made those trades not to fall to out of contention for a limited few players and slater is not one of those players.

And the way this draft shapes up – we are probably talking about the recovers and Pitts.

In January most experts would have told you that many of those playmakers are going to be gone by the time we get to 10

But I’m the 3 spot – that’s the spot when you expect a QB to go this year

So they traded out of 3 bc they knew some one would give up a lot for a QB
      And some one did
But they only did it knowing they can safely get back up close to where they were

That means that they like some one or a couple of prospects who aren’t QBs but expected to go right after the run at QBs

That guy making the Slater prediction is just making a fish dip able
Pick – slater is actually a better for for a zone blocking scheme anyway. He’s not a good fit for Miami.

When people accuse others of overthinking it – this is exactly what they mean

Miami clearly wants a top tier non QB talent and made two trades to put themselves in that position and pick up future picks

Also I don’t think Slater is as good as a prospect as Sewell
It’s suddenly become a trendy debate

But when it’s said and done I bet Sewell is the first OT off the board

    • mf13ss says:

This is nothing more than an exercise of contrarianism. Somebody has to write about, “well, it might not be what everybody thinks…”. No $#!t, Sherlock.

Now I may agree with the author or not… but it’s nothing more than click-bait.

I’d be willing to bet that there’s Jacksonville writers out there, offering articles about, “well, it might not be Trevor Lawrence @ R1P1… we’ve got ya covered”.

      No disrespect intended, Phelon… I’m just sayin’…

      • mf13ss says:

WHAT IF, is the name of the game… and writers get paid to do so. Writers want clicks… that’s how they get paid in today’s game.

    Q for you guys.

Would you trade #18 for a 1st next year and a 2021 2nd? Lets make it with Raiders.
    ——————-
    1) If we were to do that, we probably should have stood pat after our trade-down with the 49ers. That is, to have retained an additional 1st rounder for next year. In many ways, I wish we would have stood pat.

    2) If we were to do what you propose, we’d be likely targeting an elite pass-rusher next year… which this Draft doesn’t have (ah, but Micah Parsons this year).

    3) We MUST help Tua as best we can this year. At this point in time, we can’t afford to neglect Offensive weapons for Tua. I firmly believe that trading for future picks is off the table right now, at least as it pertains to our early picks.

  36. mf13ss says:

    Thanks again, Mike E.

We get to pick the BPA at a need position at 6. Nuff said.

D (Parsons is my preference) and a need for front 7, our WR unit is all about a hope and prayer and if anyone can last a season (Pitts for me and seems like a nightmare for other Ds), OL still has a way to go (not sexy to pick Sewell) and it could use a sure thing to shore up a suspect unit.

Is he really Miles Davis’ son? I did not know that. His music makes me want to turn down the lights, pour a glass of whiskey and smoke a stogie….and I don’t like whiskey or smoke. Lol

    • Tim Knight says:

LOL, I don’t think he’s Miles’ son, I think he meant Son.

      • mf13ss says:

I thought Son would have picked up on that and replied by now. He enjoys ‘haiku’, and especially old-school music.

    • mf13ss says:

No, sir! I was merely doing a ‘haiku’, nothing more. Sorry if I led you to believe that Jamin is related to Miles… that was not my intention. It was merely word play, man.

  51. mf13ss says:

This is probably my FAVORITE song over the last decade, seriously…
I’m too old to dig the new “top-100” hits of today. This is the BOMB!!! And yes, it’s a cover of Matchbox…

Guess I’m just a bit more patient on it. Don’t think the team is ready to contend yet.

Every time I start to allow myself to think we might be I just point out to myself that the Jills put up 87 points on us last season. I still think there is a ways to go. We had a soft schedule last year and did win 10 but we lost to all the teams we were “supposed to lose to”

  54. Randy says:

Lol. You guys and your damn haikus. Speak American, dammit.

  55. mf13ss says:

NOT a big fan of Cher, but IMO, this song was VERY good. Sorry, I feel she stole elements from “Hall & Oates” on the chorus and the bridge leading up to the chorus. Still… great song in it’s meaning and… erotic!

  56. Tim Knight says:

Last year was last year. You don’t know what the 2021 Miami Dolphins look like yet. 🙂

  57. herdfan says:

Good evening. When is the draft? When does the schedule come out?

  59. son of a son of a shula says:

The schedule usually comes out before the draft so hopefully within 2 weeks

  60. son of a son of a shula says:

Buffalo wasn’t “there yet” either before last year

  61. herdfan says:

Do we have a game in Vegas this year?

  62. Tim Knight says:

One of the important things I think we overlook when signing a RB like Malcolm Brown is his ability to pass pro on important downs. We all know we didn’t sign a bell cow back. But he helps us continue drives. Do your job. 🙂

He’ll also make some plays for us as a runner and receiver.

  63. Tim Knight says:

Someone on NFLN said today it sounds like George Godsey will be the play caller at OC shared with Eric Studesville. Maybe it’s a passing game and running game coordinator thing, but one guy has to call the plays. I expect a lot of RPO, play-action movement with Tua; bootlegs and waggles etc. Build the offense around him. The guy has a good head on his shoulders and also has a sling shot for an arm.

I’m interested to see how we build this offense moving forward. I think we’re going to be heavy run and play-action offense. Even Parker, Fuller and Gesicki are good enough to move the chains and score points. Block the plays is key. Add some great skill talent in the draft is awesome. But all the other stuff has to happen too.

  64. steveccnv says:

However, on March 4, Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal reported that the NFL plans to release the 2021 schedule in mid-May. Additionally, we know that the 2021 NFL season is expected to begin on Thursday, September 9, and conclude with Super Bowl 56 in February 2022.

President-elect Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden revealed Wednesday that he is under investigation for his “tax affairs” by federal prosecutors in Delaware. Dec 9, 2020

    • The Flying Pig says:

Joe Biden has been releasing his taxes for a couple of decades now and has never been audited. There is no evidence of tax fraud for Joe Biden either.

      • steveccnv says:

        It’s on Hunter’s laptop.

Not to mention the tax loophole he used to not pay taxes, that he advocated the wealthy to pay. Sounds hypocritical to me

      • steveccnv says:

Just the fact that he’s never been audited should raise a red flag for double standards

      • steveccnv says:

There’s also testimony from Bobulinsky, stating Joe took money from the Chinese

      • The Flying Pig says:

Steve, it doesn’t raise a red flag bc he’s never hesitated to publicly release his tax returns. They are out there and have been for the IRS to examine as well as every person on earth to examine for decades, and the only thing anyone ever says is general unspecified criticism connected to the fact that his son is a fuck up.

Testimony in a book that sells more bc of controversies, on a subject there’s always a paper trail for, is not good evidence by any stretch

It’s just a deep rabbit hole of right wing conspiracies

  76. The Flying Pig says:

B is much better than A bc of the way the 18 pick worked out

  77. steveccnv says:

    Nice write Fansided 🤔

Jaylen Waddle is one of the top receivers in this draft but if the Dolphins take him at six, fans may want to know why they chose him over the speedier and more exciting Devonta Smith.

How would you know that? have you seen the evidence on the laptop?
or are you just speculating with certainty?

    • The Flying Pig says:

      Yes I’ve seen it.

There is no evidence of tax fraud

All hunter has on his laptop is a pandora app with Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond saved as channels….it’s pretty fucked up but not criminal

Now hold yourself up to the same standard you just tried and prove me wrong.

      😂😂😂

This what distinguishes a conspiracy theory from real things. Instead of supporting your evidence, you say “how do you know there is none”.

It’s not for me to prove evidence doesn’t exist…..lmao…wtf is that?!

      • steveccnv says:

OMG, so you know there’s no evidence on the laptop, because you’ve seen it. Not sure how you’ve seen the laptop, but your final statement bullshits your first statement.

You have a very tight definition of evidence, when it benefits you.

Why are you defending a hypocritical asshole, that’s trying to tax the shit out of us while he loopholes his way around them?

you can say look at his tax returns, these corrupt politicians have to appear on the level, they use their family to gain wealth while they appear to be the squeaky clean front man.

then you have witnesses and laptops his own words about ukraine that suggest otherwise

one can not be that naive as to go by his tax returns.

  83. ocalarob says:

all roads lead to a corrupt president supported by big tech at any costs, you didn’t elect Biden, Biden seized control over you.
