Sorry Dolphins fan, we tried to look awful smart with pre draft maneuvering, making two synchronized trades with the 49ers to move out of #3 and move back to #12, and then the trade with the Eagles to get back up to #6. Did we get the best TE? Nope! Did we get the best WR? Nope! Jaylen Waddle is a good player, but the moves that we made don’t add up to the player we selected. We may have been able to get Waddle at #12. He will help our offense and be the player we hoped Tedd Ginn Jr. was for us. A dynamic return man and a a guy who will take quick hitters and turn them into big plays. He can be like Albert Wilson was for us in 2018 before he got injured. We can go back and forth about where Waddle would have been taken, but being at #6 and ending up with Waddle is deflating. Sorry, it just is. Grier and Flores get no pass.
With pick #18, I’m telling you guys, I knew we were taking Phillips. In our Mock Draft I picked Phillips because I felt he was the player we want here for our defense. I said it again last night. Although I was right, it didn’t make it any easier because I really wanted Najee Harris. We need an upgrade at RB, and if we somehow don’t end up with Javonte Williams, we will have failed again. I feel like we can have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds in every draft and still find a way to fuck it up. Quality over quantity. Right now I feel like we’re just getting quantity.
In our offense, Jaylen Waddle will be featured often. Tua Tagovailoa likes to get rid of the bill quickly and Waddle will be like Julian Edelman was to Tom Brady. He will help our offense. He will upgrade our return game because although Grant is electric, he’s so questionable about actually fielding punts and kick returns. His hands are suspect. Waddle is much more sure handed. I just don’t see a generational talent in him, and 2 guys went before him that definitely might be, Kyle Pitts and Ja’Marr Chase. We were at #3 and could have had either. This is my qualm. Everyone wants more picks, not me, I want great players, and I’m not sure we got ANY last night. We could have, we didn’t!
Jaelan Phillips is a Flores type player. He knows what he’s doing out there. When Grier took Charles Harris because he had a quick step, he did, but he had nothing after that. Phillips is the opposite. He’s a technician with a bevy of pass rush moves and he’s athletic enough to back that up. He’s fast, and he’s strong, and he’s very athletic. 6’5 260 and ran a 4.56 40, 36″ vertical, 10.5 foot broad jump, 4.12 20 yard shuttle, and 21 reps of 225 at his pro day. His Junior season and last season in Miami, he posted 8 sacks and 15.5 TFL in a shortened season. He’s the real deal, and we need the pass rush help, but we lost out on RB Najee Harris.
We got good players, players that will help our team be better next season, but we had a chance at elite. Pitts or Chase could be elite. When all is said and done, Waddle and Phillips might have very good careers, but Pitts and Chase could be HOFers. Time will tell. I try to be fair, I don’t want to be a rah-rah pom pom waving writer. I want to say it like I feel it, so I did. Go get Javonte Williams. IDGAF if we have to trade to pick #33, get him, because we need him!
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

There goes Ehlinger to Colts
I wanted him too I liked your vision for him. Gamer.
IN TWO SEASONS coach Flores has turned this franchise around from the laughing stock of the NFL to legitimate playoff contenders. It’s an achievement that’s only been bettered ONE TIME in Dolphins’ history (Shula’s first season when he turned around a 3-win Dolphins team in 1969 to the playoffs the following season. In his 2nd, 3rd and 4th seasons he led the Fins to 3 straight Super Bowls, winning TWO of them!).
What “COACH FLO” has done is truly remarkable. And historic. So I’m strongly inclined to giving him the benefit of the doubt on the soon to be completed 2021 draft. If recent history is any indicator (and I believe IT IS) most OF FLORES PICKS WILL PROVE TO BE VERY GOOD TO OUTSTANDING IN 2021.
AND IF THAT’S TRUE, Miami will be in this season’s playoffs. And our first playoff victory THIS CENTURY will become a reality!!
ISN”T THAT WHAT ALL OF US WANT???
NOW, bring on the 2021 schedule. I CAN’T WAIT to see our boys deliver some ass kickings!!
he hasn’t done anything yet, hell gase made the playoffs his 2nd year.
what happened to “show me”?
Show me from OD used to mean show me you can make this pile of shit a playoff team, now, if you don’t mind me saying OD, it means let’s take this talented team and go make a run.
OD — when you are luv’n a coach then something really is going on.
Oh shit, surprised RB Kylan Hill is still available.
Shhhhh….the other teams are listening
Aye Capt!
and the first longer snapper comes off the board. Should have traded up. SMH
I wanted him too I liked your vision for him. Gamer.
———————————-
Yeah, I had quite a few visions for this draft. Now I am just fucking blind. lol
Air fry the bacon, you’ll be surprised how quick and easy. Curl this 🖕lol
You are riding in the back now lol
Lol
SON-OF-A-SON; Right-on, baby!! THAT’s what I meant!!
ROB: I’ll try to keep it a bit more simple for you next time.
You tell-em OD!!! the voice of reason. Hope all is well with you and everyone else on this blog
Think I’d go with sagely voice of experience. But man do we like our OD.
Will be a Fest this year Captain…….. hope you can make. Spent the very first one sitting with you.
Most definitely coming!!! I want to do the tour of Florida this year
Cool beans. Schedule comes out May 12. Be sure to check in to help pick the game and then get your seat reserved.
WTF took our LS, bastards
No worries John Denny is coming back

You said that “it only matters how they feel they did”. I say results are all that matters. All good, though!
I agree with everything else.
I was talking about now, as a result of how they feel they did
Understood the first time. I guess what I was trying to convey was that ‘facts don’t care about feelings’. 😉
We’ll see how it pans out over time, my friend.
Let’s trade our 2 7s for 2 6s
And if those two 6s become 1 5th, I’d be for it!
Stubbs, I want the tour too but I also want New Orleans too 😁
We’re on after 6 hours
Who?
Parnell Coleman T guess they do hate Davis, lol
Darnell
That’s a great pick🤪
We had to be the only team who had him on their draft board.
But he was on the Outland Trophy watch list, man. After all, he’s a 7th rounder.
He had a 5th/6th round grade. Has played both right and left tackle. Competition and you never know.
Larnel Coleman, OT, UMass
GOOD PICK!!!
I must be missing something about this guy then.
He was on the Outland Trophy watch list… and we nabbed him in the 7th round.
We have the 2nd to last pick, good thing TB won the SB
Nah, we traded and got 244
The CBS site still has us at 258.
It’s 244.
That’s what I thought too.
WR Mike Strachan, Charleston (WV) was one I was looking at from Herd’s hood as an UDFA. He went to Colts.
D, where you at? What is the deal with no love from anyone for Kylan Hill?
He was on the Outland Trophy watch list… and we nabbed him in the 7th round.
——————–
Oh, cool!
Overview
Durable three-year starter with experience at both tackle positions. Coleman’s long arms have proven to be effective at slowing his opponent’s rush momentum and he’s savvy with his hands in his pass protection approach. His knee bend is average, which hinders his consistency protecting the edge in both the run and passing games. He’s athletic in space and should be able to compete in all run-blocking schemes. While his pass protection is average by NFL standards, he has talent to work with and offers swing tackle potential as a Day 3 draft pick.
Strengths
Athletic feet in space to shuffle and find positioning.
Makes adjustments to land and sustain blocks against linebackers.
Feet don’t stop running through the block.
Brings his feet with him to stuff and redirect challenges on his edge.
Flashes his hands to keep rusher off-balance pre-punch.
Throws punch with conviction.
Adequate body control and hand strength to cinch up the block.
Clear eyes see incoming twists and games.
Weaknesses
Too much arm wiggle and wasted motion post-snap.
Not much hip roll into first contact in run game.
Hand placement can get away from him as drive blocker.
Can do better at maintaining knee bend through all three phases of the block.
Pass sets are a little rigid and awkward.
Punch needs to be more concise and accurate.
Gets too far out over his skis in run and pass blocking.
Had some issues with bull rush against Liberty.
There are going to be some good players in the UDFA pool.
As is the case every year! 100% agreed.
I’d call these UDFAs “The Island of Infant Toys”. 😉
Sorry, “The Island of Misfit Toys”. 😉
lol
Uhoh, little Maxwell mispronounced our pick’s name, looks like he is going to have to run some laps
Can he lock them together and use them as a jump rope?
LOL
CAPT. STUBBS: To answer your question, the health levels at our house have improved. I just cleared another group of cancer tests in flying colors. My family physician congratulated me on my “numbers” from my recent tests; My blood pressure is 122 over 78; My bad cholesterol is WAY DOWN to normal. And my weight, which got as high as 258 a few years ago is now down to 214, thanks to walking the Greyhound 13 miles per week.
BOTH me and my wife had the covid. We’ve fully recovered AND we’ve had BOTH of the Moderna vaccine shots. My wife’s recovery from her 9th surgery has been difficult. She had a total knee replacement and is unable (because of 5 previous back surgeries) to do some of the exercises that are needed to “get the knee working well again.” But she IS making progress, and, for that, we are thankful.
CAN’T WAIT FOR THE SEASON TO GET STARTED!!!
You my friend are awesome… Always positive vibes too you and everyone else
Jevon Holland pick surprised me…. like a lot of you guys (and just talking position).
Gotta assume Grier and Flores knew what they were doing though. Back of our D should be stellar. As should the LBs….. and the DL is pretty darn solid as well.
Should be one real solid D.
We have Jones and Howard. Needham is solid. If Holland can play with immediate impact, and Iggy progresses, we’ll have potentially the best entire secondary in the league.
Least thinking we should have one heck of a line-up in the dime. DBs are the team’s strength.
Like the Pats, DBs are paramount with the way they and us play defense – lots of man coverage. Our defense should be improved on what we started last year.
The CBS site finally switched it to #244.
This is the first ‘Draft Saturday’ I’ve had off in over a decade. Nice! At any rate, I used to be the guy who posted our UDFA acquisitions right after the Draft.
I’m passing the torch this year. I hope somebody will be posting our UDFA as they happen instead. I’ll be back later, though.
GO PHINS!!!
Whew, well it’s a lot to ask. But it’s important, so I’ll be happy to watch someone else take on that responsibility.
😉
LOL
So who’s really excited about our draft??? I’d give it an M for Meh. I’m looking forward to just having one pick in each RD, they seem to do better with that format
Most of the pundits have given us high grades. Charley Casserly thinks we got 1st round talents with our first four picks.
I’ll stick around for #244…
I thought Trevon Moehrig was the best safety in the draft. We’ll see how Jevon Holland does here, but it seemed pretty unanimous that Moehrig was the top safety.
And Richie Grant was Safety#2.
I concur with ya, Mike E.
Mike E holland was the best S in the country….. Canada is a country
Best S in your country, not mine! 😛
As you know, not a talent evaluator…… but Moehrig dropped hard from projections. And that includes us not taking what was supposed to be 1st round talent. Have no clue why.
Gerrid Doaks, RB, Cincy
Not too shabby!!! I like the pick!!!
There’s our BIG RB
Overview
Pro size with broad, thickly built lower half. Doaks can be a physical runner when he wants to be, but there are times when he gears down rather than imposing his will into contact. He lacks foot quickness and the desired field vision to find pathways and yardage on his own, so power will need to become his calling card. He looks more comfortable lining up behind the quarterback and attacking the flanks, where he has longer to process the defense and can get his momentum building. He does just enough out of the backfield and has decent pass pro potential. He might go undrafted but has enough going for him to get a look.
When are the times when he doesn’t want to be physical? We should probably ask him before putting him out on the field
Maybe when Buffy the Vampire Slayer is on? If so, it should be pretty easy to coordinate.
I kind of forgot about him:
I know 7th round pick and this is highlights but he looks pretty good. We’ll see if he can translate at the next level. Good size and looks to have decent speed and good hands.
Strengths
Broad lower body with thick legs.
Productivity hurt by inconsistent blocking at times.
Gets his speed up when hitting the outside carry.
Good forward lean and lowered pads as finisher.
Size and strength to pinball off tacklers when he’s cranked up.
Improved in 2020 at keeping his feet moving through contact.
Puts pepper into his chip blocks and blitz pickups.
Weaknesses
Not very quick out of his stance.
Blurry field vision in reading the defensive front.
Lethargic feet slow jump-cuts and lateral movements.
Doesn’t show much savvy getting through lanes cleanly.
Won’t wiggle enough to elude tacklers.
Fumbling issues need to be corrected.
Pass-catching can be a labor for him.
“Pass-catching can be a labor for him”….. might be our short yardage guy though.
I just watched the video BBM posted and he has great hands, even a couple of 1 handed catches.
Sounds like another PS type of guy
Sounds like he needs contact lenses, or to wipe the vaseline off his facemask visor
Coleman against USF was only responsible for 3 sacks
Has power but probably runs a 5.9 40, speed guys walk around him
Maybe practice squad
Seems we have too many tackles as is. But guess they could cut Fluker if Coleman shows.
INT the TEs .. I know we extended Shaheen .. thought Smythe as well but apparently not
It’s pretty weird we all thought Smythe got extended. I think right after Shaheen got his, there were a couple articles that Smythe would happen in the next few days, and we just all kind of mentally completed that contract, lol.
Mike, im very excited about the draft, i like the later picks also, another OL, and Doaks , a RB
doaks looks tough as nails, and is 6 -0 230
what will be really exciting, is watching these guys every sunday IMO
Ok team boy – Rah-rah!
whats the problem, im a Dolphins fan just like You are
the only difference is im not writing off the draft picks already, i want to wait and see what the Fins FO saw in them
Thanks for the highlights link for Doaks BBMike – made some nice catches out of the backfield – good hands.
for the guys that are unhappy their mancrushes didnt get picked, its because You picked the wrong mancrushes, lol
not the Dolphins fault
months of guessing and mocks … now its time for months of ‘roster-bation’ 🙂
Nice article about Coleman – seems like he’s got the right mindset
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/nfl-draft-2021-umass-larnel-coleman-has-worked-himself-into-a-legitimate-late-round-prospect/ar-BB1gfO7x?ocid=uxbndlbing
Mike, being a Dolphin fan, we KNOW, that this is the right time of the year to get excited, lol
there was no excitement in the Buffalo disaster last year
next ……..UDFA’s
David – I think we did OK. Our FO is not infallible. I wanted guys that will make an impact now, we’ll see how that works out. I know Waddle will, I think Phillips will too. Not sure if Eichenberg sees the field and if he does if he’s up to the task of being Tua’s blind side pass blocker. Not sure about how the safety Holland works out. We’ll see, I fell in love with Iggy Mahogany and he never showed up. We’ll see if he does this year. I thought they should have made more of an effort to get a top RB. I think that may come back to kick them in the ass. Doaks may not even make the 53.
thats the Mike i know and love, lol we all know the FO are not perfect, but they are the only ones that careers are at stake based on these picks. so they better be right, or,,,,,
we know the drill, just hoping its different this time, the definition of insanity, lol
I honestly felt like we had a chance to KILL IT, and I think we ended up just doing OK. To me, that’s a shame.
I would be shocked if Eichenberg didn’t start least in the 2nd half of the season. And he’s a big need (versus safety and TE). So I figure we got 3 starters, or at least “will play alots” the way Flores runs things.
Holland is versatile, not just a safety. He can play multiple spots and he makes plays. That’s what we want in our defense. I wasn’t expecting us to draft DB early but not sure why we knock the player.
For me at least about the position and not the player. He’s our 4th safety…… Jones wasn’t even starting last year. Would love to be talking about a RB and a C.
You don’t know what he is yet. We’ll know more after all of these rooks go through camp and play in games. It’s the same way every year. 😉
Holland might end up HOF. Was sorta hoping the thinking would be “Jones is really showing it…. no need to go safety.”
When you play man, you need lots of quality depth in the secondary because if a few guys go down and you don’t have enough, you can’t play that way anymore. The same if we want to play a lot of 12 personnel with TEs.
Kong – Buffy can be on anytime man, This is 2021 when you can stream anything anytime you silly ape!
Then what’s the problem? Great pick, lol
Is it tears and jeers?
or
Smiles for miles?
A friend of mine who is a Dolphins fan and a Hurricanes fan is stoked that we drafted Phillips. He’s watched him play every game.
thats awesome, i am not a canes fan, but im a Phillips fan
we need his pass rushing skills

months of guessing and mocks … now its time for months of ‘roster-bation’
————————
I am working on my first 2022 mock right now. lol 😉
That’s why fans get disappointed after drafts because they have the same group of names burned into their heads for months while teams scout the entire country. None of us do that on that level. Who the hell would have the time for that? LOL
Or access
Doaks looked good against Houston, had 2 long runs a one handed catch, lots of nice runs.
Didn’t see the vision issues
He did have a fumble, but QB was more to blame, pulled the ball out late on read option. Most runs seemed like read option
Good blocker too
Give him at least a 50% chance to make the roster, let’s see how he plays in preseason
Coleman has some gifts to work with, seems better in a phone booth than space
Give him a 25% chance only because of his potential
SB Nation’s James Dator first impression of a Dolphins pick came with the team’s selection of Waddle. He graded the team’s pick at a B+. He explained, writing, “Two picks, two handcuffs in a row [following the Cincinnati Bengals reuniting quarterback Joe Burrow with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase]. The Dolphins reunite Waddle with Tua Tagovailoa and give him a shifty receiver who can mesh really well with their first round pick a year ago. Miami needed a top-end weapon, and they got it here. The offense will be better as a result, and considering the bevy of picks the Dolphins have, getting a player widely regarded to be the best WR in this draft was a great choice. Now they can address other issues later.”
Miami came back on the clock with the 18th selection, using it to pick Phillips. Dator gave this pick a B+ as well, explaining, “The Dolphins went with the local guy here, and Phillips becomes the first defensive end off the board. A long, lean pass rusher with amazing moves — Phillips is the prototype for the modern position. He has pursuit speed to chase down agile quarterbacks, and hitting power to make an impact.
We got two talents in the first round, but then if we didn’t the FO really screwed up.
They took Phillips and he was the first edge taken out of a possible 4. We’ll see if was the right choice… or at least a real good one.
i like Phillips, he is what the Fins need with a pass happy AFC east
I like Phillips too. Seems a good fit for our system.
Love the Waddle and Eichenberg picks, Phillips looks good too as long as he’s healthy.
In a year when DE was weak, we may have gotten the best and only good one.
Hope I was wrong about Rousseau.
Holland could be a great pick for our system, but I’d need to see him play first.
Long is my type of possession TE, one that makes a team hard to stop on 3rd down.
And of course the draft will be in LV next year when we only have an extra 4th
Phillips is healthy, hes ready to go
Wyo – What did you think of our draft?
Waddle and Holland are great picks!
Don’t know why we didn’t take Najee @18?
I just got home from work so haven’t seen day 3 yet?
we couldnt take harris at 18, we needed Phillips more because the AFC east is loading up on passing talents
we play 6 games every year against these teams that are reloading for the passing game.
we can either prepare to defend that, or watch the other teams light up the scoreboards
I find my lack of enthusiasm for pro sports very disturbing!
lol what do you attribute it too?
Mostly ack of giving a shit!
Or lack! Either way
I do too (find your lack of enthusiasm disturbing) it sucks not seeing you here all the time
New job didn’t come with computer access!
A GM doesn’t just draft players, that will help a team this year.
He carries many hats, capologist – he drafts players with an eye out for future FA departures, and money pushed forward.
He drafts players to make the current year’s roster, with an eye on the future.
There’s a fine line between drafting one position over another, when to move up/down.
Also has to work with the coach to find players that fit the system.
As fans we just want guys we like, usually without consideration to the above
No doubt deeper levels of concern and more going on than we take in. But some things hit you in the face. Didn’t have to be Harris, but no RB in the first 5 picks. Could have come at #18 or at #36 with Williams or at #50.
What do I take from that? Either that they aren’t as concerned about the best team this year or they plan on picking a FA, possibly after the June cuts.
agreed
^
Well put
I know most of you East coasters haven’t watched Holland play!
But he’s a thumper who can cover!
It’s good to hear…. number of folks were quite upset about the pick.
we could have gotten Lawrence at 6 and Pitts at 18 and some would still complain, lol
they can complain all they like, but the Fins had a solid draft, and hopefully we can go to the playoffs this year
I would think we’re going to add a RB or two with UDFAs and let the competition begin. Gaskin 7th round and Ahmed undrafted played well for us last year. Malcolm Brown also undrafted a few years back is a solid pro. Improved blocking can help even average RBs be productive. Now we added another 7th in Gerrid Doaks to the mix. Maybe we need to realize that we don’t view RBs as a high priority because we think we can find value without premium capital.
Very well might be how they see it, but then why Breida and Howard last year? Agree seeming that they don’t want big move on a RB.
howard sucked, not sure why Breida didnt get more touches, he did well on the few he had, maybe he was in the coaches doghouse
Maybe because they didn’t know what they had and they took a shot on some vets. Both didn’t pan out the way they had hoped and maybe decided we’re not going that route again.
A lot of vets we added last year I believe was to be stopgap so we were not too young and we could compete until we had enough good young players. Some pan out some don’t. We already moved on from those two backs, Van Noy, Flowers, Lawson and Grugier-Hill. Moved on from Fitz too. We did some more of that this year in FA. Then we’ll rinse and repeat next year as more young players takeover.
They are going about it the right way but it’s never perfect.
good point, but would like to add that the running game requires great run blocking first, no matter who the back is
the fins did pick up 2 OL this year, and after watching the chiefs and their OL injury riddled team get manhandled,,, its a stark reminder that running games start with running blocking
and passing games dont exist if the defenders are not blocked out also
im the first to complain about taking the duck OL in the first round, not because we dont need him, just felt he wasnt worthy of 6
but the fins need top notch blocking to advance deep into the playoffs someday, heres to hope!
Yep! Look at the talent the Packers and Chiefs have as skill players and the Bucs defense shut them both down.
What I see us building is a ball control offense with play-action and some RPO, play good defense and STs, and the big plays will come in all phases. Flores wants us to be fundamentally sound in all phases, not rely on just a few players. Grier has said this as well.
David
Holland will cure the QB runs!
He plays Micah Parsons fast I’ve already penciled him in as a starter
If he’s a starter someone is gonna go. And he does look like a true centerfield, which to me means will be McCain.
that would be awesome, put those AFC east QB on their asses, lol
He plays the ball a lot like X. Good instincts and hands. He looks like a good football player to me. 🙂
Jevon Holland NFL Draft Profile
Height: 6’0 5/8″
Weight: 207 pounds
Position: Safety
School: Oregon
Current Year: Junior
Tony Pauline’s Jevon Holland Scouting Report
Positives: Explosive, athletic safety with a well-rounded game. Does an outstanding job with coverage assignments, tracks the pass in the air, and displays a good move to the throw. Follows receivers across the middle of the field, effectively times pass defenses, and possesses good hands for the interception.
Displays terrific ball skills, flips his hips in transition, and gets his head back around to locate the pass in the air. Not a liability covering the slot receiver. Aggressive and battles receivers throughout the route. Fires up the field, breaks down well, and gives effort defending the run and stopping screen passes.
Negatives: Possesses a thin frame and struggles in battles. Will be outmatched by bigger receivers. Inconsistent bursting to the ball.
Analysis: Holland is a good athlete and a developing safety who would’ve benefited from another season on the field in 2020. His ball skills and coverage ability are such that teams may consider him at cornerback or nickel back. Holland comes with a large upside but needs time to develop his game.
Like most of the players in this draft. Every NFL team is in the same boat with these prospects who need development. 2020 was a rough year for these guys.
agreed, it sure was, but its an even playing field for everyone
I said “Every NFL team is in the same boat”. 😉
They call Holland a slot safety, so Needham’s spot, our biggest weakness on D last year
good point, slot safety is a difficult position to play too
hes also being called versatile enough to play every position in the secondary
I think it’s obvious Flores wants to be exceptional in the secondary so we can attack and blitz teams with the DL and at LB. Besides sacks, pressure and tipped passes create turnovers when you have good hands people in the secondary.
We got killed from the slot last year, if he sures that up its huge
OMG, my leveraged doge futures are exploding, lol
this is exciting, up 800 percent since Friday Morning
These guys grading the draft picks are a real joke. They really don’t know shit from shinola.
Mostly they have no idea what the vision is for a given player, so they don’t know any more than we do
i disagree, i think their analysis is decent, not perfect, but gives a general idea of the players talents
Starting to see why Holland was taken at 36, if he’s like Minkah we got a steal
We drafted Minkah to be the versatile DB Holland was drafted for. Hopefully Holland’s Mommy doesn’t get involved. LOL
lets hope Holland doesnt make the Steelers secondary better, lol
Lol
the Raiders drafted 3 safeties, lol not sure what to think of that, but it does appear that defensive secondaries are becoming much more important than in years past to the GM,s
I know Needham had some nice plays for us the past couple years, but he’s a liability in coverage. Smaller, quick guys and guys with speed beat him constantly. Some sort of move needed to be made to upgrade there.
***
I think Iggy is gonna be a pleasant surprise this season. I know he didn’t look real good last year but most of it just looked like rookie mistakes. He should benefit greatly from more development time.
Iggy was viewed as a project with a big upside. Even his college coach said he’s just learning how to be a corner after being a WR. But believes he’ll excel soon enough.
Grier/Flores had the luxury of blowing the team up and turning over the roster with players like this because Stephen Ross was on board. Now we’re in Phase III. Yes Mike E, Phase III. 😉
If I remember correctly Holland played some WR too, hope he isn’t slow to pick up the pro game
Wasn’t he 20 when we drafted him? So not surprised he was a little lost first year. Still a ton of room to grow.

What are you Jimmy Two Times? LOL
When do the UDFA signings begin, now, tomorrow or when?
I’m just funkin’ around… and no, I can’t stand this Enema Man.
And for the love of God, you KNOW UDFA begins immediately after the Draft ends, Bro! C’mon, now!
LOL wasn’t sure about anything anymore.
Needham gets little respect. I thought he played pretty well for us last season. He was asked to step and i thought he did.
He’s serviceable and plays hard. I believe we tendered him. But camp is going to be very competitive which is a good thing.
There are only 8 players left from the pre-Flores era. Can you name them?
Marc Ross just gave us an A+ in the draft.
Who’s that, Stephen Ross’s son? lol
Marc Ross is a former Giants executive and former GM Charlie Casserly along with others gave us high grades.
It’s RB that is holding you back, isn’t it?

Fair enough… and I DO hear ya. So many rule changes over the recent years has me not being sure either. All good, man. Sorry if I inadvertently insulted ya.
But yes… UDFA begins immediately after the Draft closes.
You would have known this, had I been posting our UDFAs per the usual… I’m taking the night off!
Marc Ross is now an analyst for NFL network
Yes guys who have been in the biz carry weight with me. These aren’t beat reporters, they’ve scouted talent for teams and still do as analysts.
im not crazy about Jerome Johnson, DT for Indiana
he was signed as a UDFA, most likely for training camp fodder IMO< but hes along ways away from NFL ready and may never be
Robert Jones , OL from Middle Tennessee state was also signed as a UDFA
more training camp fodder, this guy is a run blocker ONLY,
and a human turnstile nightmare at pass blocking, it appeared at times he WANTS his QB sacked, lol
i was mentioning before the draft, that the SEC is a NFL production machine.
College football’s juggernaut conference has done it again. 65 SEC football players heard their names called at some point during the 2021 NFL Draft. that’s a new record, a record previously held by (you guessed it) the SEC. The conference had 63 players drafted last year. The previous record of 64 was set by the SEC conference in 2019.
This is the 15th year in a row the SEC has led all conferences in draft selections. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact ALL SEC schools sent at least One player drafted .
*All SEC schools had at least one player drafted
What if the combo of Gaskin/Ahmed as the quicker more elusive backs, and Brown and maybe a guy like Doaks as the more physical type backs is our vision for the running game with improved blocking? Situational football, not looking for a bell cow back.
It seems to me that TE matters. Also adding speed at WR.
What if this is our starting OL this year?
LT Eichenberg (2nd round-rook)
LG Kindley (4th round-2nd year)
C Skura (5th year-FA)
RG Hunt (2nd round-2nd year)
RT Jackson (1st round-2nd year)
Yep – the revamped line plus the increasingly dangerous receiving group will open up the running game – if the opposing D needs to drop more guys into coverage then they aren’t in the box stopping the run anymore. It’s going to be interesting either way.
Lol at the excitment that Charlie Casserly liked our draft. You might as well quote Skip Bayless.
Really? You’re comparing Casserly and others who actually built successful football teams to Skip Bayless? That was pretty weak. Why not say Mando, Hyde and Omar are more knowledgable. Just saying! LOL
“You will find no bigger media fan of Manziel’s than I am.” – Skip Bayless
Mike, I thought Needham was solid last year too. The board seems down on him, so I started wondering if I’m only remembering the good times but overall his play was poor or if those guys are just cottonheaded ninny muggins, lol.
The Armchair GM’s Strike Again! Even if I don’t follow it that closely… I know more than the people who do or have done it for a living. Please… stop!
I’ll say it again, it’s all about the standings at the end of the day. We amateurs need to stop acting like we know how to do this. It’s becoming embarrassing. As I get older I find it more humorous though. 🙂
Needham made some nice plays, but he also got torched as the season went on. Teams started taking advantage of him. It’s always so black and white around here. A guy can be good at some things and not at others. If you didn’t see Needham getting beat in coverage repeatedly, I don’t know what to tell ya. I guess we’ll see how they use him going forward.
Sooo not a cottonheaded ninny muggins then? 😉
People forget football is a competitive sport. Somebody wins and loses even if you made some plays. It’s about the final score. Every team is trying to get better. It’s not rocket science. We won today or we lost today. Those who win more than lose celebrate. It’s not that complicated. 😉
Sheesh, the Brewers just refuse to lose.
Yeah, isn’t it awesome?
Your boys look good
Yeah, and they are fighting through injuries to Cain and Yellich. Counsel is such a good manager. Long year though 🙂
It’s been the Crews division the last couple years, and could be again this year. It’s a good team.
Since 2011 the division has basically taken turns, Cards, Pirates, Cubs, then Crew with a couple Cincy sprinkled in. I’m hoping the Cards are coming back around to the top.
I don’t what the heck I was looking at. Cubs won last year. I was looking at WCs lol
Dodgers have a new manager his name is Pete Rose.
That’s the only thing that makes sense why they left Vesia in the game to blow both leads
Just need VGK to finish off the Coyotes in regulation
Sigh
At l east they held the Yotes to 1 point
Stupid penalty cost you a point. AZ getting a pt means nothing to me, just needed VGK to get 2
Don’t think you have anything to worry about getting the last playoff spot
Yeah we’ve almost got a spot sewn up. It’s not like it’ll matter anyway. If we get in, we’re playing your guys in the first round.
The Blues have a found their stride and are playing much better hockey the last two weeks, but I don’t think we have much of a shot against VGK.
We added 3 key pieces on D, including McKinney, hopefully we can slow Allen down this year
I would rather have had Williams, but not at the expense of Eichenberg or Holland, Doaks will do for now
Same thing I thought (James Robinson) when I watched his tape
The biggest question about Doaks will be durability issues, on top of being just a one-year full-time starter for the Bearcats. He has a good initial burst as a runner but lacks the long speed to consistently create chunk plays. In the right situation, Doaks’ combination of power, contact balance, receiving ability and toughness could make him a candidate to be this year’s James Robinson (Jacksonville Jaguars).
I doubt they drafted him to make chunk plays, he’s more like a back up battering ram behind brown.
agreed
whats up with israel, can those people celebrate their stupid holidays WITHOUT knocking off Americans? SMH
what kind of religion, involves the deaths of Americans for their religious holiday? i have seen many types of religious celebrations, and no one got hurt,
they need to either change their religion to a more peaceful one, or we need to send a few air drop bomb messages to the israeli government, they do not have the right to injure and kill our citizens with no repercussions
if NK was offing Americans for a religious holiday, there would be full scale war immediately, but we let israel get away with it, SMH
if any American church , temple, hall, synagogue, whatever
were doing the same thing, they would be shut down immediately
“The loss of life among worshipers practicing their faith is heartbreaking. I have instructed my team to offer our assistance to the government and people of Israel as they respond to the disaster and care for the wounded,” Biden said in a statement.
count me as one that hates Biden now , SMH no mention of the perished Americans? assist israel? what about assisting the American families that lost their loved ones? thats not important?
almost 50 people died, and Biden talks of it like a few people got wounded and need some bandaids and aspirins.
Biden should have rented some cajones, he seems to not own any, and stand up for the nation that elected him to stand up for the USA and its citizens
PS, sorry for the rant, im just pissed i cant take my vote back, SMH
next time i wont vote at all, all presidents suck, they ONLY represent themselves.
thanks for the vid
grier seems to have a good grasp of things, but wow he sure is boring, lol
Flores seems to be nodding off at times, lol
i need extra coffee to listen to Grier in the morning
Oh brother David is advocating war with Israel
no, i am advocating standing up for US citizens, we cant ignore them
ignoring Americans was not what Biden was elected for
i was pointing out the differences at how we would allow israel to do these things, but not NK
i realize Israel is our ally, but if they wont act like they are, we need to remind them verbally first and let them know this is not acceptable.
and we need to recognize the loss of US citizens, and help them. we are anxious to help a foreign nation that caused the problem, we should be even more anxious to help the nation we all call home
nice
