Very important to keep in mind that the first game was really the first action against a different opponent other than each other and the coaches are just trying to see guys execute plays, all the while keeping it simple and vanilla so to speak, not giving any future opponents a real glimpse of what this offense and defense are going to do once the season starts. If you can do that, you probably won’t be so disappointed with what you see.
The first game showed some weakness with our O-line. Once again, not very concerned by that. It has nothing to with the lack of talent our O-line faces in practice against our own D-line (read that a few places), or that our O-line is fat, sloppy and overweight and slower than than last year (read that too). It’s preseason game one and we’re trying guys out at different spots and we all know synergy and continuity is something an O-line lives and dies by. Hard to have synergy with different people all over the place. That’s my take anyway. If the regular season begins and we’re in game 3 and this O-line looks slow, fat and lethargic I’ll let the worries commence.
The decisions at WR are going to be difficult, but Allen Hurns wrist injury just made one decision for them. He’s on IR and my guess is unless we get to get game 8 and we need him, he’ll probably never see action in a Dolphins uni. 2 of our WR’s are ST’s stalwarts and that cannot be overlooked. Jakeem Grant and Mack Hollins almost have to make the cuts because of that alone. Parker, Fuller and Wilson are the 3 vets that look to be locks, although I personally wouldn’t consider Wilson a lock. With the injuries that all 3 vets have endured, and how their spotty availability hurts the team, I wouldn’t consider him a lock. The question is, which young WR’s other than Waddle make the cut? Lynn Bowden Jr., who the Dolphins traded a 4th RD pick for last season would be one I think makes the roster. Preston Williams, the big 6’5 oft injured WR brings talent and size but also the injury bug too. Kirk Merritt has been having a nice 2021 so far but has to be a long shot. I think Ford faces astronomical odds of making the roster. Parker, Fuller, Waddle, Hollins, Grant and then pick one or two more. The rest of the preseason will decide that.
At RB, Salvon Ahmed has got some people giddy but I still think Myles Gaskin in the “lead back”. Not quite the same as Derrick Henry lead back in TEN but I consider him to the be the recipient of the most playing time. If Brown can give us the tough yards and grind out defenses, I think that could really limit Ahmed’s touches, although both Gaskin and Ahmed can catch out of the backfield equally as well, but I think Gaskin is the slightly better player.I don’t which young RB makes the roster out of Scarlett or Doaks or if the veteran Laird makes the cut. I guess the rest of the preseason will tell us the story there as well.
At TE, Gesicki is the clear choice with rookie Hunter Long hobbled by a leg injury and still sporting a thick knee brace. Smythe, Shaheen, Myarick, Tucker and Carter round out the depth there. I know some of you disagree but get Gesicki signed soon before he nets 70-80 catches for a 1000+ yards and 8 TD’s, because then the contract will be much higher than it will be now.
On defense, I really want to see our young OLB get more playing time. I’ve said it before he should be a big difference maker in our difference and if he’s not on the field, rookie Jaelan Phillips won’t be doing that. Hope to see him in action against Atlanta and hope to see good things. On the defensive side, Emmanuel Ogbah is the defense’s Gesicki. Sign him now before his contract is one we can’t afford. Shocked that LB Elandon Roberts is coming off the PUP (Good news!). Vince Biegel has been brought along slowly and despite being activated, I’d expect the same from Roberts.
I still hold to my prediction for the O-line as JACKSON – KINDLEY – DEITER – HUNT – EICHENBERG. Stay tuned. I look for Tua to have a nice game this week. The O-line will be better and the worries will subside. Want to see Phillips make a play or two that make us all think “Wow, this kid is gonna be something”. I want to see some tough, grinding runs from Brown, bullying would be tacklers for extra yards and then watch Gaskin and Ahmed come out looking like world class sprinters. I want to see more good things from Grant on returns and I want to see Gesicki and Waddle make some more big plays. I want positives, less negatives and of course no injuries!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Just as Flores said, the speed on O will open up the running game, I also think Tua taking the next step will also open it up for the backs
We’ve kind of seen this in the preseason
Against the Bears when they crowded the line we couldn’t run, but when they didn’t we did
Against Atlanta we ran fairly well, don’t remember the box being stacked
I think biggest disappointment right now is Jackson. He had a better game but it was Atlanta. He is getting beat on the edge and seems a step slow even on run downs he is getting out leveraged and pushed around.
I think we need Kindley next to him. Kindley was a bull last game and our highest rated OL. We had more success on the left side with him starting LG last game vs Eich. Kindley at LG gives us more balance on the line and more strength on the left side.
Good thing Jackson is not protecting the blind side at least.
Sounds like Eichenberg may have locked up RT or at least played well enough that maybe Davis can move to LT, if Jackson struggles during the season
D, I think Merritt hits PS again unless we trade someone. I don’t think they want to do that though with all the health issues. If Bowden goes to PS, I think he gets poached.
Happy belated Birthday Mike E !!
Thanks Doggy!
So they fly to Cincy for a 4pm Sunday game this week. I wonder how Flores is going to treat this game. It IS out last of the preseason. How is he going to divvy up the touches?
2nd try
https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-power-rankings-2021-pw2/
That was a strange power ranking
The AFC is supposedly the stronger conference, yet 9 of the top 14 spots are from the NFC
Dallas at 10, Minn at 14 GMB and wtf was too high also
Because of his NFC love fest our #15 was good enough for 6 in the AFC
NFL Research: With his four sacks Saturday night, Eguavoen became just the fourth Dolphin (Nate Orchard in 2019, Ronald Flemons in 2004, Adewale Ogunleye in 2002) since at least 2000 with four-plus sacks in a single preseason.
What about for 1 PS game
Besides Ogunleye, the other names on the list kind of backup what I said about don’t get too excited about Eguavoen
I watched the game Sat, but I didn’t realize that the Falcons only tried to throw the ball 15 times the entire game. OMG!
If it ain’t working don’t do it, but that isn’t exactly accurate
4 sacks, Frank’s ran 3 times after being flushed
Point taken though, not a lot of passes
Yeah Steve that was kind of my point of posting that stat. First was I didn’t realize it myself and second half the passes he attempted he got sacked or had to bail on the play.
Man those are some nice looks in the pocket from Tua. He’s aware…otherwise couldn’t make them. What was missing last year. Got the first read works or done feeling at times.
He had 4 or 5 plays this game that he maneuvered really well in the pocket. And I don’t know about some of our other qbs, but yeah, tanny never slid around the pocket that well.
You can’t play QB in the NFL, being that short, and not have good pocket pressence
Watched a video one year on all 40+ of his sacks, on many occasions he just went down on his own or ran into the defender
RT still sucks at pocket pressence
I think that is a good point. Shorter qbs have to develop that pocket presence in order to make it this far
Tanny might have had pocket presence but now he’s got a kick-ass OL and running game. Works for him and his passing stats.
Now don’t be posting any Rex Ryan Gifs or memes in reply to this post.
I really like Tua’s feet. He does not stand flat footed ever. His feet are constantly moving and resetting. Even when he is “standing still” in the pocket he is constantly keeping his feet moving to position himself to throw properly.
I don’t know if anyone watched the video breakdown I posted last night, but he showed a play (the one Hollins bobbled then caught), tua takes a handoff one direction, then instantly flips his feet 180 degrees and rifled the throw to Hollins with excellent mechanics. It was outstanding.
Tua FAKES a handoff. I really hate posting from my phone smh
well at least you CAN post from your phone. I cannot post from either of my Iphones work phone is and 8 and personal phone is a I12. Neither will let me log in to post. It tells me to enter the user name and password. I do then it jumps to the top of the page. I have to scroll all the way to the bottom and as you suspected….it tells me to do it all over again. Round and round. (Ratt music in background)
X was named #17 in the “NFL 100.”
The 7 picks on deep passes versus 4 receptions (no TDs) is pretty darn impressive.
————————————-
“Howard led the league with 10 interceptions and 20 passes defensed in 2020, which easily earned him a first-team All-Pro nod. The five-year veteran returns to the Top 100 after an injury-plagued 2019, but Howard’s reputation in coverage is well-known. The lockdown corner hasn’t allowed a deep touchdown since becoming a full-time starter in 2017, picking off seven passes on deep throws and allowing just four receptions for 186 yards on 35 deep targets since 2018, per Next Gen Stats, which named Howard as its No. 1 coverage player in 2020.” — NFL.com
Those rankings are always slanted to teams that have playoff success
#17 ain’t all that bad. 32 teams in the league. And if that slant is there then even more impressive. That one stat blew my mind though.
From SI’s stock up stock down column
STOCK DOWN
The final guys on defense: Garbage time or not, it’s inexcusable to allow back-to-back 30-yard running plays, which is what the Dolphins did on their final two defensive snaps. This looked like a simple case of Atlanta blocking the two plays well and nobody on the Dolphins defense being able to shed a block, along with the second line of defense getting caught out of position. It’s difficult to identify clear culprits based on the replays, so we’ll just put the blame on all 11 players on the field.
Don’t think we need to worry about most of those guys much. And if he could identify the culprits involved would probably barely know the names.
^
If you have a stockdown and it’s the bottom of the roster, that isn’t making the team, that’s a good thing
Probably were in some type of prevent D, giving up the run
Not an excuse, just putting it in perspective
Stock Down
— LB Jaelan Phillips: Getting his first taste of NFL game action was a positive development for the rookie first-round pick from the University of Miami, but for anybody looking for any kind of impact or splash play from Phillips, it was a disappointing evening. Phillips made one tackle in 27 snaps, and it came from the back side when he tripped a running back from behind. Unfortunately, there was a lot of hesitation from Phillips and a difficulty in getting off blocks. No need to point out the obvious that it was his first game, but it still was a forgettable debut.
It’s like dancing, if you don’t have it down, you can’t show any swagger
there was a lot of hesitation from Phillips
———————-
That is what I saw. A lot of watching and reacting late.
I think that is why he was back out there in the 4th qtr.
The PFF grades for our OL, PS gm 2, were enhanced by the pocket pressence of our QBs
Fitz could move in the pocket, but he doesn’t have Tua’s wiggle or even Brissett’s
Tua showed pocket pressence last year, but with his command of the O, it’s much better this year
I agree except I think Fitz is better in the pocket than Brissett.
Not even close
Rock, Flores ain’t sayin.
Thanks BBM!
looking at our schedule on the road, for non division opponents,,,, .
this will show the variance of miles that Miami will have to travel for the season, considering division road games do not change year to year.
non division road games this season, are near FL, for the most part, with the exception of the Raiders game
Tampa, FL
Jax, FL
NO< LA
Ten, TN
Raiders, NV
2 of the non division games are in the same state, and Tennessee and Louisiana are short flights,
the only long flight is vegas, and thats 4 hours, not too bad
Our game at Jax is in England.
it’s not one of those stupid 7am eastern start times is it?
Wonder how they do that flight. Do you know how prized you are by the team based on whether you get a lay flat sleeper seat or not? Only so many on each plane.
never mind! yes it is. Stupid 9:30 am start time. Going to throw off my whole laundry schedule!
thanks, that sucks, i thought the jax game was in FL
IT SHOULD BE, IMO lol
the Titans game will be interesting, we will have to unleash the Sam Eguavoen Bam on Tannehill, lol
Phillips stock is down alright, but the stock has a strong buy rating, and trend reversal is expected!, lol
the underlying fundamentals on Phillips are solid, thats how to value a stock for long term hold
Yeah his stock down is retarded, would be like me saying to you, you haven’t had any good posts the last several days, so your good post stock is down, disregarding the fact that you haven’t posted
lol agreed, this stocks been busy making a living, havent posted much lately
im thinking you missed the correlation with stocks, lol
just because a good stock is down a little bit, doesnt change the buy rating if the fundamentals are good, its often the best time to buy in and trust the fundamentals to work out
in other words, overlook his preseason game slow start, the kids got talent, and his talent will show up very soon,
Ken says:
August 22, 2021 at 4:47 pm
Why do you think Grant will be different? His problem is his hands not Tua’s health
His problem is his hands, on downfield passes, not short stuff
Play to his strengths, with Tua now healthy the field will be more open, especially the short area, where he operates best
He needs to play the YAC game
Are you telling me the jax game is on at 6:30 am my time?
Just DVR it and watch it without commercials. Yeah you might not be able to hit the board while it is happening, but then I might do the same with it a 9:30 start for me. 🙂
Cant dvr it
Then it becomes a Test of your Fan Loyalty….lol.
Yes
Ugh
Chiefs waived Defensive end Taco Charlton. Maybe our Front Office called that one right.
Cav, make a Dolphin breakfast out of it, lol
Tua Omelets , Phillips Pancakes, Waddle waffles, with some Hot Conlin to drink, lol
Lol, not a bad idea…
Good article by Cote
https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/greg-cote/article253646308.html
I hope (there’s that word) he is right.
I think if we play starters, the majority should be pulled no later than end of the 1st, with some exceptions. I’d keep Jackson out there all game.
The starters have gotten some good work in. I’m not sure another extra quarter gets us much. Some teams have rested certain starters all preseason. Let’s play a quarter and call it good. Jmho
my guess is Flores will continue to work the starting offensive line through the game, maybe pull them in the fourth quarter
they need to form a cohesiveness, and form a mean unit that pushes defensive lines backwards on run plays, and protect Tua on the passing plays
I
No D starters need to play, and No Gesicki
Rbs can play since Gaskin and Ahmed are mostly interchangeable, but prefer they didn’t
WR I’ll leave up to Flores, but no Waddle
OL, get yo candy ass out there and play all 4…wait 1 quarter will do, don’t want them getting rolled up on by some half wit trying g to make the team
Tua should play 1 series, like he’s walking on eggshell, get the ball out quick, if the rush comes do your best RT fetal position asap
Of fuck😜
Houtz, that was only 5 yards up field.
8
Is he pointing out the players with a baby bottle? lol
owe you a beer. LOL
Gotta give that Dlineman credit. He still got in on the tackle
In case it wasn’t obvious, that was tongue in cheek. He got pancaked and bullied down the field, turned around, and there was the RB, lol.
Lol
Eichenberg can play, hopefully he’s our RT and Kindley plays like he did last year at LG
Then we’ll be fine, we have other options for Jackson, if he sucks
In those clips he was RG. LG in camp (but might be Kindley getting spanked). And he’s had reps at RT. Only thing for sure is he won’t play C. Says the guy who has thought would make sense to have Action Jackson on Tua’s blindside.
In those clips Eichenberg is playing RT
Was talking about the one before that….. but my bad given the stream.
He’s playing RT and Hunt is RG in both
First time i rewatched I thought he was playing RG too, but he came way over past Hunt from RT
Still my bad steve. Did read that Hunt played some RT though.
Houtz using a baby bottle as a pointer? LOL
🍻
Not sure what all the bitching was about Phillip
https://mobile.twitter.com/houtz
He set the edge on his side, everything was away from him, made a couple of trip tackles the other way
Not sure how he was supposed get a sack, when they rarely passed and when they did it was quick, except the 1 play he covered the TE
This is a Flores D, just do your job
Just watched it.
-First two plays, runs to his side, he sets the edge nicely
-pass, quick out to the opposite side. No chance for a passrush
-rush up the middle, TFL, Phillips is right there too, runner already down
-rush to the other side
-pass play, QB rolls out opposite side of Phillips. Phillips got stymied at the line
-rush up the middle, no impact
– pass play, he drops back in coverage
– inside the 5 rush to the left, Phillips chases the RB down from the backside makes first contact and gets the tackle.
– rush to the opposite side
-rush to the opposite side, he chases down the play, sorta involved at the end
I’m going to stop there, about half way through. The 2nd half of the plays are mostly runs to the other side. I think he literally was involved in only 5 or 6 pass plays. The two big 30 yd runs, he was on the opposite side.
I’d say that wasn’t a bad showing at all. He set the edge nicely, and I only saw one or two plays where I thought he could have reacted faster to the play, specifically a goal line play where he was unblocked and set the edge, but allowed the RB to get an extra yard or two up the gut to his side. Minor.
There really isn’t anything there to give him a stock down for.
He got his feet wet and did his job, stats for a DL aren’t all that, ask a sellout like Suh
I know this was probably discussed but how scared were you when Waddle dropped to the ground in pain? I was like you gotta be kidding me, we’re gonna lose him before he even got started. Was so relieved when I saw him running to get back on the field.
Right after it happened they were saying he’s walking around, so the sting didn’t last long
“No F-ing way” was the thought going through my mind. Btwn him and Hunter Long am wondering if the NFL is going the way of European soccer though.
Waddle’s was more of hurt or pain, than injury
That’s how it turned out, but he started walking off the field and set down right on the sideline instead of doing the extra two yards to our bench area. Then he came back.
When we saw him holding his knee rolling around, I coughed up a kidney
LOL
Yeah sometimes a player is in pain and needs time to shake it off but we all fear the worst.
“Falcons quarterback AJ McCarron is done for the season after sustaining a knee injury in a preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins”
That sucks, at least it wasn’t Matty Ice, for their sake
Makes a case for rest the vet starters in preseason.
Was that when he didn’t go down and Equavoen nailed him?
Yep
He basically did it to himself. That’s not how you’re supposed to do it.
With McCarron out, that will give Frank’s another chance to get Munsoned
In the first clip, if Eichenberg hadn’t knocked the guy on his ass the play would’ve gone further, but got tripped up from all the bodies on the ground
Pancakes are great, even on a double team
Eichenberg is powerful
He’s nasty too.
Stanger, are the fest seats in the shade? Do you have the section and rows?
Unless you sit in the first twenty rows behind the visitors you will be in the shade
Why OD is still in the sun. Nice seats though. Hitting the opener against the Bills with him.
Yes in the shade. Ross gave us that. Believe section 323 or maybe 324. Pretty high up…. talking nose bleeds. I lost my paper with the exact rows and seats in the redo of my place but have posted on the site. Could call and get them, but guess the question is why are you asking.
If you want better seats there are plenty of them, but will have to pay more than $55. And no problem if you do that. Haven’t put on the credit card yet.
Not the same area of the body as Waddle was getting pain from, but most times in rugby when thought someone was done as done they’d collapse on the field flat and writhe in pain. There were times when was a broken collar bone, crushed knee, etc…… but most times turned out they just got their balls smashed (think the head of a guy running full speed for a tackle).
Ever had that happen? About the worst pain have ever had. Completely incapacitates you for like 2-3 minutes.
Ouch! I know Waddle got chopped just don’t know where he was hit. Maybe bone on bone.
Phelon said he got cleated
Ahh that makes sense.
Stanger, that’s awesome you’re going to the Buffalo game. I always feel better when I know some of our own guys are on hand. Should be insane there. Fuller’s debut.
If you haven’t sat in one of OD’s seats for a game you should. Can’t promise for him but it is a journey through Dolphin’s history. And they are great seats. He lives close enough you guys could do the drive together too.
Phillips will make some big plays for us, TFL, sacks, and turnovers
this team is good enough to make the playoffs, and take a shot at the top prize
“I think I’m a versatile guy,” Phillips said after practicing against the Falcons on Wednesday. “I can kill you with speed. I can kill you with power.”
lol gotta love Phillips attitude
I don’t know who this guy is, but he seems to know his stuff and for sure does a good write. That’s the upside….. downside is he puts a whole lot of shade on our OL in the player-by-player breakdown of the Falcons game.
https://phinphanatic.com/2021/08/23/the-miami-dolphins-offensive-line-takes-a-step-forward-vs-atlanta/
Our OL is very young, they’re gonna need some time but they need these PS games to get the work in.
Did you read the article Tim? Thought a lot of good analysis in there. Real harsh on Jackson., but pretty positive on Eich for starters. Good info on each player though.
I thought our OL played well
I only watched the first half of the game but they were solid IMO
I just don’t get what people are expecting the OL to be
I could not have asked for more from them on Saturday
I’m hearing a lot of slander on Twitter and it just seems like people need a whipping boy
Yes it was a fair breakdown but like I said they need more time. I remember Parcells saying it took his OL 5-6 weeks to get it together with his 1996 Pats team, the year they lost to the Packers in the Super Bowl.
Guy was a tough grader. No doubt on that one. But looked at the relative rankings. At this point worried about Jackson. Was supposed to be our strongest piece on the OL. But maybe all that is needed is time.
His final thoughts were goofy
He grades the OL as a whole quite a bit better than average, then says
If they can solidify that left tackle position (not something you want to read), either by Jackson improving or him being replaced, this line will be on its way to becoming an average offensive line. That might not sound encouraging, but over half of the NFL is trying to do the same thing right now.
boy did Tua look good against that vanilla 2nd string defense of atlanta.
i just wonder how he will do against starters and a DC that will scheme against him?
How will all the players do in that scenario?
He will be testers every work
But don’t let that stop you from giving him an A+ when he performs like an A

All I care about is not sitting in the sun.
Think upper deck is better than anything in the lower bowl, so these seats are perfect, don’t care about the exact section, so no need to look further
Thanks
We had much better seats in the past, even if still upper bowl too. But seems folks are excited about the team. Lots of season tickets bought this year.
Rewatched all Phillios plays on 55″ this time instead of phone
He didn’t do anything wrong, but played a little too cautious
With Ogbah on the other side, think he’ll play better
That is exactly what I saw too
His #1 priority seemed to be setting the edge, and that he did a good job of
He missed a lot of practice time so like you said earlier he got his feet wet. He should play faster in time.

boy did Tua look good against that vanilla 2nd string defense of atlanta.
lol Orob, your argument is Atlanta did not start any of their starters? or is your argument that Brisset started, and Tua played the second half?
neither happenned, your agenda against tua is not warranted, Tua has the heart of a champion, and will prove himself on the field, and off the field.
he is a leader, that the offense needs and thrives with.
See last year vs Buffalo, vs Denver VS Raiders, that is my warrant
last year should be your nickname, lol
but its last year
Phillips is coming off an injury, so him playing a little cautious in preseason is wise, and not really a concern IMO
Orob, there were about 20-25 Dolphin players in the Buffalo game that played poorly last season
Tua was one of them, but hardly the only one.
but this is a new season, every game is a learning experience, and Tua is shown he is stronger and more confident this year. his accuracy is incredible, and granted, preseason games against a mix of starters and backups is not the ultimate test
the real testing begins in foxboro, lets take it from there, build on a good preseason with the first regular win of the year
1-0, and nobody will be thinking about last years buffalo game
Until we play Buffalo week 2😉
lol true, but we cant overlook the cheatriots in game one, if we can pull a w out of foxborough , maybe we can make it a good game against buffalo in week 2
it sounds like a dream, this team can hold its own IMO
but going 2-0 against our toughest division opponents on the road would be SWEET
We’re home against the Bills week 2.
thanks for the update
to make the playoffs, i think we will have to win at least 5 of our road games
Of course Tua needs to play well against opponents in the RS, that’s what it’s all about. He’d be the first one to tell you that’s his job. It’s the same for every player but as we know QB is the most important position.
We’ll see what happens, but at this point key part is Tua doesn’t look like last year’s Tua. I said we could make the playoffs with him playing the same, but he is a clear level higher.
much agreed Stanger
His lower body is moving so much better and he’s generating better accuracy and zip because of that.
Agreed Tim. Seeing him now makes me think Tua wasn’t fully recovered from the hip surgery last year, even if psychological was involved.
I think it was both physical and psychological with Tua last year.
I know politics are bad, but…. Hope they recover in time to give whatever report they have been delaying for months already.
“A majority of the team leading the audit of the 2020 election in Maricopa County tested positive for COVID-19, according to Arizona Senate President Karen Fann. Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan and two other members of the five-person audit team are “quite sick,”
it figures, lol and smh
No need to laugh at anyone being real sick from Covid.
not laughing at them, laughing at the joke of it all, Florida residents of cyber ninjas in Arizona not getting what they were paid to get, the election is long past and they are chasing nothing of value on the west side of the country
not interested in the biased audit of one state, the votes of 50 states, have been certified long ago
Check out hunter long
nice blocking by Long, and second level attempt also
Long doesnt give up after the first block, thats awesome to see!
Good stuff!
i think our Offensive line will be much improved this year, they have a ways to go, but they show bursts of talent, when they can consistently do well on every play, this will be a high scoring offense IMO
it all starts up front, the OL
had a little covid scare at the restaurant, but fortunately the worker was caught lying to get out of work
He didnt go to the hospital, he screwed off at home, never had covid, just lied he did and freaked everyone out at work
his plan worked well, hes out of work now,
it sucks when people play games and selfishly think of themselves, and not others , because they are lazy and dishonest, SMH
Good stuff! That’s spot on.
I spoke with a die-hard Stealers* fan earlier today at work, and he told me that he saw our Phins game against the Falcons. His biggest takeaways were how impressive our Defense looked, along with Tua’s growth.
I asked him if he realized we sat a boatload of our starters on Defense… he acknowledged, alright! He thinks our Defense is REALLY good… and I said, “YUP!!!”.
He also thinks that Tua looks like a totally different QB this year… and I said, “YUP!!!.
It’s really good to hear from die-hard fans of other teams, really recognizing how good our franchise is looking today, ya know?!!
We’re relevant again it feels good. Can talk Dolphins football with the unwashed and it doesn’t break down into laughter.
I see our guys as willing and ready to take a step. Should be fun.
+1000000000000000000000000
Jags O looks a lot like ours did last year
Mostly short passes, no one open and can’t run
Know the differences between our Chad Henne, our Ryan Tannehill, and our Tua?
1) Tua is a natural leader, born and raised to be that way from his father
2) Footwork
3) Work ethic (Tanny worked his tail off, but Tua is on another level)
4) Communication
5) College programs (Alabama is elite compared to Michigan and Texas A&M)
6) The clear jump from rookie season to year two
7) Believing in oneself (confidence), being Henne and Tanny always seemed to lack confidence early on
8) Right place at the right time, with a damned good HC and staff in Flores, compared to Sparano (RIP) and Philbin
9) Accuracy
10) Determination (to prove EVERYBODY wrong post-injury… a chip on his shoulder, if you will)
11) Experience at the QB position
This O-Line needs to protect young Tua, and all should be well in PhinLand.
The OL just needs to be not bad
They’ll be not bad, they’ll be fine
5 more guys get cut tomorrow
I predict 1 semi-shocker among them
I fear it could be Lynn Bowden, being he got hurt at the wrong time.
Maybe we could keep him via IR, but who knows at this point.
We don’t need him IR would be good
That would be a full on shocker
Don’t know the injury but if he goes on IR he’s out for the year.
Being out for the year is the point, basically stashing him on IR
Hard to believe they don’t trade someone
Might be Skura seems it’s Deiter’s job already
But if Deiter gets hurt, it would be wise to keep Skura.
Backups generally play multiple positions 🤷♂️
Skura might get cut, but won’t be in this round. What if Deiter gets hurt in the next week?
Lawrence is looking rough
He’s in a bad situation there
Lawrence is looking like he needs to find a barber. His hair annoys me, but that’s just me.
I like Eich
Catchy slogan
LOL! Well said! 😀
What do you mean Ken🤪
If knew how to photoshop it I would.

We might even trade a WR at the trade deadline
Brian Griese talking about having Minshew start the season, instead of Lawrence
Thought it was a good idea, then looked at their schedule, it’s pretty soft 1st 5 weeks
LMAO
“Um, hey… ‘member that guy we traded to you a few years ago? Do you think you might want to give him back?”
YUP and LOL! I saw that yesterday when it was trending on Twitter. I wonder if the Raiders are regretting the hire of Chucky yet (10 years/$100M). And to be honest, I think Mike Mayock as their GM has been a total disaster.
To be fair to Mayock, Jon Gruden runs the entire team.
This is a very big year for both of those guys. They need to get a result or it could start to get ugly for them. Luckily going into next season, the Raidaaahs will only have 6 years left on Gruden, lol.
LOL, the Raiders are a strange bunch.
RETURNED VERY LATE last night from a convention in Georgia. First 2 days were outstanding. Last two not so good after local paper urged readers TO STAY HOME because of the explosive rise in covid cases in northern Georgia. Show promoters pissed because the paper did NOT consider it OK for those properly vaccinated to “go out and about!” Anyway, U of Florida covid projection suggests the worst may be over REAL SOON (early September). Hope they’re right. I’m SO LOOKING FORWARD to attending the Bills at Dolphins game in week 2!!! Young Stanger and I will be there to root our boys to victory!! WHO ELSE is attending this humongous game???
——————-
Speaking of the U. of Florida, my alma mater, FAU, will open in Gainesville the first saturday in September against mighty Florida. Last time they played, FAU took the Gators to overtime before finally losing. THIS TIME, FAU is a 3-4 touchdown underdog, to no one’s surprise. But, again, I think the oddsmakers have underrated the Owls. We’ll see.

Gotta walk the Greyhound and get my beauty rest.
Peace to all of you!
The guy from the Phinsiders, he’s an ex NFL player, says, that the reason we have dual OCs is, because it was a way of retaining both coaches, so other teams couldn’t steal them
I said it was also a promotion for both guys to get more money. But this makes total sense too.
OD – I will be at the Bills game.
i would like to go to the bills game, but i cant break away from work
with OD and the blog rooting the Fins on, failure is not an option, lol its up to You guys to rally enough spirit to turn the bills into jills
but the bills will struggle with the heat, first home game in Miami is always sweltering with high humidity and temps
Falcons signed Josh Rosen
did they give up a 2nd rnder for him?
Picture yourself in a boat on a river

i keep reading how everything is sunshine & lolipops.
please brace your self for reality
ORob — thinking we win 10 or 11 games, which also means expecting to lose 6 or 7. What “reality” are you expecting?
Eguavoen miked up
I’m going to see what happens, if I go hard every single play this game
Sounds like he usually doesn’t go hard every play
I caught that comment too and didn’t like the connotations. It doesn’t necessarily mean he habitually takes it easy (which from watching him last season I don’t think he does.)
The statement did bother me too though.
Could be just a preseason thing
Hope springs eternal
Why does anyone care about Rosen?
He’s never going to be a good starting NFL QB, he just doesn’t have it
In 2019 I looked back at his UCLA tape and wondered what anyone saw in him
We 2nd round draft choice care about him.
Etienne flashed a little last night, he seemed to be the only one on the Jags moving at a faster pace, than those around him
Compare this with the old electronic vibrating football we all had growing up, there always seemed to be 1 piece moving faster than the rest, that was Etienne😉
Is he comparing signing Rosen with bad events like potential major injuries, lol.
I wonder when President Biden is going to see the giant white rabbit?????
Avery Christmas the Easter Bunny comes
At least that’s what they used to say to a classmate at Brownsville, named Avery Christmas😃
Already has.

That’s not a picture of president Biden, it’s a pre dementia picture
There you go.

Ok, that’s dementia Joe🤪
Tap the keg
Obviously Tua is a different QB, than he was last year, even the tard Eisen can see it
Last year during the first scrimmage both Tua and Rosen were lost, Fitz was out that day, but when he came back it was clear he was the starter
This year Brissett is playing good, but obvious Tua is better

Solomon Kindley remains the starting left guard and Jesse Davis is handling the RT duties. That hints that Liam Eichenberg is second team RT.
Sounds like Daddy Flores has decided Kindley is no longer grounded and going with what we all thought would happen from the start. Which means Eich and Davis competing at RT.
We looked a lot better with Kindley at LG and Eichenberg at RT.. Again, i like the idea of Hunt at RT still but im getting more comfortable with Eichenberg there after seeing him there this last game.
just a reminder for those of you who record the games. Game 2 home opener was “Flexed” to Fox and will not be broadcast on CBS with the rest of the AFC games….
How does that work? It’s two AFC teams. Fox can just take a CBS game?
