“Nothing could be finer than to play in Camolina”. So Cam Newton has risen from the ashes, discarded from the Foxborough area by football czar Bill Belichick, and finds himself back home, replacing another QB who appeared to have risen from the ashes, Sam Darnold. Darnold’s rise was a relatively short one though. It appeared early on that the change of scenery was all that was needed but like Icarus, Darnold fell to earth as a mere mortal and average QB at best. Cam has only played 1 game for the Panthers but his stat line looks great, passing for 197 yards with 3 TD’s, 2 passing and 1 rushing, along with 60 yards rushing. Still, this came in a loss to the WFT.
Dolphins fans have to remember the 2020 season opener with Cam Newton as QB for the New England Patriots. Cam ran the RPO to perfection and we had no answer that day. Cam threw for only 155 yards, no TD’s, but he ran for 75 yards and 2 TD’s that day. We were stymied by the RPO, as if we’ve never seen such wizardry before. We appeared to guess wrong each and every time Cam ran near his RB who was either going to take the handoff or flip from Newton. If Cam kept it we tackled the RB who didn’t have the ball, and vice versa. We looked awful on defense that day. We can’t do that again this week or that will make the 3 game winning streak we’ve managed moot.
I expect us to be much more disciplined on defense this time, and also much more aggressive. It’s on offense where we may have the most difficulty, the Panthers are playing very good defense. They’re allowing only 20 PPG, good for 6th in the NFL. Temple tough Haason Reddick leads the Panthers D with 10.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and 16 QB hits. He’s been a monster. Safety Jeremy Chinn is the leading tackler, not usually a great thing, but Chinn plays a lot like a LB.On offense the Panthers are 22nd, just 4 ticks higher than our Dolphins, who have moved up to 26th since we now score more than 18 PPG. A party is in order!
I really like the way the team played last week, we ran the ball more than we have in a long time. We ran the ball 33 times and held a 7 minute TOP advantage over the Jets. OK, so this was against the Jets, but I like the blueprint. I think if we come out throwing all the time like we have in previous games, that will play right into the Panthers hands. We need to control the LOS and keep them off balance, establish the run, or at least keep trying to do so. The Panthers have 30 sacks on the season and would gladly see us dropping back often to pad those numbers. We need to remain balanced. A win this week doesn’t put us in the playoff conversation, but a loss would immediately remove us from any possibility of making the playoffs. It’s a dream hanging by a thread, but it’s still hanging. Let’s hope we get the win and keep the thread hanging.
GO DOLPHINS!!!!
How ya doin?
Ayyyyyyyy, how YOU doin?
I’m doin aiight, how yous guys doin?
Too-UH!!
👍
I only wish he didn’t miss so many games
Yeah, me thinks we would be 5-6 or 6-5.
Agree and that is my biggest concern with him is staying healthy
His 6 yard spirals are outstanding
Very nice write Mike. Thanks for keeping the dream alive.
This is such a wonderfilled site to be a part of. It’s kind of like Friends, and Sinfeld with a dash of Survivor mixed in with it. I have been a Finfan my whole life, and have always felt like a fish out of water here in Southern Indiana. But here, I have finally found a place that I can call home. Even if it is full of weird Uncle’s…
Stay safe all, and be happy!
Go Fins and Go Fins Mob.
Happy Thanksgiving Days
Thanks Days! Happy Holidays, glad to have you here with us “Weird Uncles”. I can’t disagree with that at all. 🙂
lol @ “with a dash of Survivor mixed in with it.” Except we never vote anyone of the Island…but some have been known to swim off in a huff forever to normal return. 🙂
Good to see you Days.
Its funny how the two guys that kill this team the most. Everyone raves about them.
Tua with his weak arm
Gesicki with his inability to block.
Its directly related to why we cant run the ball and why our offense is lethatgic.
So lethargic that they forgot the “r” I guess…lol
How can Tua be to blame for not running the ball well when we’ve run the ball better with him then without him?
Some of our worst rushing performances this year have been with Brissett starting
LOL @ sausage thumbs correcting my spelling!
Yeah, you crack me up every time you talk about them….what a comedian….
the good news we’re 3-0 the last 3.
i hope tua can change my mind about him,
Mike E — it was a fine write, unfortunately in part cause you have the same concerns as me about Cam. Do I ever wish it was Darnold instead.
Still have PTSD from that home opener against the Pats. He did what he wanted as long as what he wanted wasn’t a bomb. And he’ll be lining up against the same D and with Christian McCaffrey as his RPO partner in crime.
Nice Mike.
Good analysis on running the ball. Maybe we see more of duke johnson this week
Thanks again, Mike E. It’s been unbalanced for a long time….lol
i’m just glad carolina is a home game, it will be a tough game for sure as they are coming off a loss and us a win, we could have a mental let down.
I’m looking at lower back surgery i would assume, have MRI scheduled, the 2nd one in the last 6 months.
i woke up this morning and on a scale of 1 to 10 my pain level was about a million.
i layed there screaming in pain, finally was able to get up, got the icy hot with lidocaine and frozen veggies on it. much better now.
haven;t played golf in 4 months
Sorry to hear that. Hasn’t losing all the weight helped with your back or had the damage already pretty much been done?
nothing to do with weight, i’ve already had l-4 l-5 fusion, problem is when you fix that part the disc above is stressed due to it having to do more work, degenerative back disease. seen my nuero surgeon about 6 months ago, i was fine then, he told me that down the road it will get worse and he was correct.
ready to concede and get the next disc taken care of.
called him this morning sceduling am mri monday.
Sorry you face that, but sounds like you knew it was coming at some point. Not that that makes it less of a biotch.
ORob, best of luck with your back, man. I hope you don’t require another surgery… ugh.
i’m begging for another surgery,
Ah, I understand. I hope it all works out well, buddy.
Maybe some day we’ll see them on the field together at the game when kittens and puppies rain out of the sky.
——————-
“Brian Flores spoke with the media today and informed the media that both DeVante Parker and Will Fuller will not be playing this week. Flores said they are getting close to returning, he said that last week as well, but apparently not quite yet.”
But of the milk box crew one will be seen on the field — Hunter Long, even if cause Shaheen is out.
—————————-
“Hunter has done a good job practicing over the course of the year. He’ll get an opportunity. He’s a young player, trying to improve and get better. He has a lot of talent potential.”
“There’s a lot of work that goes into playing in this league, particularly tight end. There’s blocking, there’s route running, [pass] protection. He’s doing a lot of good things in practice and developing. It’s a deep tight end room. He’s learning from those other guys. He will get an opportunity this week.”
— Flores
This back and forth was… interesting.
Alguizery loves Tua & Gesicki, he cracks me up, he thinks Gesicki is tough because he doesn’t get hurt or will play hurt.
he’s confusing toughness with availability.
The problem with what the big O is saying is, Tua creates the inability for the OL to block, because D’s are crowding them, they don’t respect his arm, crowding the LOS is also shutting down the run.
tua will have to beat teams deep on a consistent basis to get relief.
it’s very evident, doesn’t it strike every one as odd that the majority of the plays are dink & dunk.
why is that?
for me the reason that they design plays like that is because they don’t have confidence in Tua getting the ball downfield.
I think if we had a Najee Harris, it would REALLY help us. Additionally, if we had a burner RB (see Matt Breida, who we released) for outside runs, it would help Tua in the RPO.
As currently constituted, I don’t believe we have the weapons in place to run a good RPO system… not to mention a horrific O-Line.
two deep balls to hollins and wilson, they were wide open!
why were they so open?
could it be the opposing d wasn’t able to cover deep as there were too many D players within 10 yards of the los?
No, it’s because the Jets are having issues with their DBs who aren’t very good.
One of those passes were against the Ravens,
of course, let’s look elsewhere, you have an excuse for Tua’s inadequacies at every turn.
you’ve sang the same tune for years, Henne was the next Marino!
I think it’s a lot more thst opposing teams know we don’t pass protect well so they know Tua will be forced to throw quickly. On the rare occasion when he gets time, sometimes our guys are getting open deep because there’s no deep help
Is it the weak OL or the weak arm? hmm?
you have to consider his weak arm, and i know he threw a how ever many yard pass it was but it was weak. he put everything he had in it.
you can see his passes to the flat are weak, begging to get picked, that’s why most of his passes are towards the middle of the field.
they are offensively game planning with tuas weakness a factor.
if he had this great arm even if he had a weak OL teams would have to play him honest.
how did Watson pass for 4800 yards last year behind their weak ol?
Good write, Mike. But we did a much better job against Cam last year in the 2nd game when we beat the Pats 22-12.
Dow Jones is down 900 points right now cause of concern about a new Covid variant hitting South Africa.
We don’t know a serious health risk to us at this point. but concerns are might evade vaccine protection and clear it spreads fast. But the vaccine protection evasion part is in no way known, just the concern cause some of the genetics of it.
Might be a flash in the pan. Might be something to be concerned about down the road. We can only see.
Deja vue
Correct, it’s his weak arm
The Bills lost the CB White for the rest of the season
And the Pats are coming on. Could be just like old times.
ORob, when receivers are running wide open with no DB near them it’s a broken coverage. It’s pretty simple. Ford had a play like that too. Only you would not understand this in your quest to blame Tua for everything.
it’s broken coverage on purpose
Yes coaches always call a broken coverage play at times. LOL
no, they put all their resources within 10 yards of the los to stop the dink and dunk king
Nope that’s not it at all. Our defense plays within 10 yards all the time with usually 8 or 9 guys. In fact a lot of the time we’re within 3 yards of the LOS. We blitz a lot, play man, cover 0 and cover 3. The plan isn’t broken coverage on purpose. A broken coverage is when players blow their assignment.
ORob I remember you saying that Brissett would win the starting job this season and be an MVP candidate. How’s that working out for you?
not very good at all,
i wished they would have kept sinnett
Now you’re looking for kids that agree with you. LMAO!!!
Tim, Tua escaped the pressure on the Hollins throw, got a running start and threw it exactly 50 yards, first off if he can’t escape the pocket he can’t make that throw as he has no running start, second Hollins had to wait on that pass. it was very weak
I already broke that play down based on what happened, not based on some fucked up bias.
This guy is great!
Okay I guess it’s Nickelodeon hour. LOL
you should try to be more objective
Yeah that’s what I should do because objective is your middle name. LOL
you’ve been in the dirty jock strap laundry bin for as long as i can remember. i’ve never known you to call out a player.
there are players i don’t like and like on this team and have said so, that’s being objective, like Hollins, you defend everyone until they are no longer on the team
I still haven’t figured out why but for some reason this board always seems to come back to Tua. I get he’s our QB….. but it is like all we can talk about.
Is there some issue about him coming into the Panthers’ game that was not there last week? He is who he is.
Gee I wonder why.
If you don’t like the topic then why do you respond tua it?
I know, let’s talk politics
I’d be happy too but was also thinking there are 52 other players on the active roster for Sunday’s game plus an opponent to play.
OK, how do you think Eifler will do?
Thought was on the PS. Did he get raised up? If so that makes this an interesting convo for me.
just joking, i thought you’d resond with “who”? i guess you googled it lol
Of course I googled. Thought knew most of the guys on the 53…. which was the topic presented.
BTW, i didn’t start the Tua topic today.
But were those 3 negative vids on him from you? Seems you at least wanted to keep the convo going a bit.
Gee ORob, a few weeks ago you were accusing me of being too critical about the team. Now I never do that.
I’ve called out plenty of players for not playing well or not being that good.
And what’s with the “dirty jock strap laundry bin” comment. I thought you just talked football and don’t insult anyone?
was not meant as an insult. quit being so sensitive and butt hurt
LOL this coming from the most sensitive guy on the blog. I’m fine, I just asked you a question.
i don’t know when i ever said you were being too “critical” i highly doubt that has ever been said by me, in fact it’s the exact opposite of what i think Mr P.B.
Well you did.
I also have no issue with being part of the patience brigade. You have to be patient with young players because history shows not all young players are ready for the big time early on.
I thought it was Thanksgiving, not Ground hogs day.
did i mention Tua sucks?
Pretty hard to escape that I guess. Seems at some point talk on certain subjects should be talked out….. but pretty clear I am wrong.
you know, this place is so jammed packed with posters i don’t want to distract everyone from the intriguing subjects that are abound so i’m just going to leave and finish playing darts on my tua dart board.
next time please let me know in advance what i should post.
you guys have a great night
That’s very kind of you. Am sorry if having it pointed out that you talk about Tua a lot offended you.
This is all you can post from now on!!
does that come in turd?
For the record we do have a LB named Milo Eifler on the PS. 😉
I know — said that, but as ORob suspected had to Google to find out. Guess he was setting me up.
Who else was known for repetitive posts over and over again? Hmmm 🤔
Sometimes when a person is called out on their rhetoric and they don’t like it, they either change the subject or take their ball and go home.
😆
Rob – Not sure what you’re asking . . . You want to post that you love turd? lol
Lmao, good one!
here i thought we were good, hold on while i get your knife out of my back.
Are we gonna go away from the full out blitz package against the Panthers? With Newton and McCaffrey seems the biggest concern is the run and short passes.
Seems more of a contain set-up would make sense instead of our safeties going full speed off the edges. I could see crowding the box with a spy on Newton.
We beat the Ravens and Jackson with Baker playing OLB to contain his runs to the outside. I think we’ll mix it up against Carolina. We will still blitz because that is what we do. How much I don’t know. That will be determined with how the game is going.
I would hound him with a dog linebacker like Biegel
And if you make that dog the Spy means one less person to blitz. Good news is Cam don’t pass much, which frees some stuff up.
Not sure Biegel has the speed to contain Cam outside. Baker is our fastest LB and our best LB. But a lot of it depends on how the coaches think we match up with Carolina’s personnel on offense. We might want Baker or a safety on McCaffrey. We’ll likely mix it up and try to find what gives them the most problems.
I was just saying Biegel as a play on words to be funny, AND he played for Wisconsin. 🙂
Bookman, Gotcha! Glad to see Biegel back on the 53 though.
Yeah, I thought he was a couple of games ago also, but didn’t play.
He was promoted to the active roster 2 days ago.
I know, but someone on here reported he was off IR a couple of weeks ago, but that may have been to the PS, my bad
I’d like to.see the defense continue to get stronger and develop. Love our dbs.
OL still sucks, but balanced attack seemed to help. Going to be interesting against Panthers….
Better than talking about Orob’s single-minded criticism of Tua and why him and Gesicki are the principle reasons for a 4-7 season…lmao! Except for humor, I guess!
Gotta give ORob credit though. His stuff gets people talking about his stuff.
Back-handed compliment… like Stanger’s stuff gets people talking about Stanger’s stuff.
Amiright?
Not sure what is back-handed about it. He does get the board focused on his topics. And yeah like when one of my posts leads to conversation as well. Don’t we all?
Then stop playing the ‘victim card’ when people call you out. I’ve never ONCE seen ORob play the ‘victim card’, friend.
????????????
Ok…orob doesn’t play the victim card??????
…..well not every day, lmao!
I think now is the time to bury hatchets. It’s ALWAYS ALRIGHT to disagree! But the personal attacks should stop, from all sides. JMO, and nothing more.
What personal attacks did you see today? Seems on your mind.
ORob plays the victim card more than any poster on this blog
If so, I’ve never seen it. He sticks to his guns and makes no bones about it. I respect that about him, even when I disagree with him.
I don’t know what to say. He loves to play the victim card. He loves to stir the pot and then cry wolf someone calls him out. I think and have told him that I think he does it on purpose because he likes to try get a rise out of people
Orob-colored glasses!!!! That’s what WE all need! 🤓
M13, you have this proclivity to defend people that obviously repeat themselves with a dislike for something or another and say outrageous and inaccurate stuff.
Stanger brings up all types of topics even if many are not football oriented. But many of us do that here. We have a music night, a book club, food and drink discussions, politics and religion as well as current events. This is not just a football blog. We all know that. Chime in when you choose. I ignore lots of topics that are of no interest to me.
ORob has played the victim card many times and he just did it earlier this evening. LOL
FWIW I didn’t interpret what Stanger said as an attack on ORob if anything it was a compliment meaning that he keeps the conversation going
I hope ORob interpreted it the same way, Hulk.
If was going to take offense at anything on today’s board that would objectively be well down the list.

That’s open for interpretation, is it not? After all, I am a conservative in this Biden world… 😉
Your politics have nothing to do with what I said.
What do you make of a conversation like this?

M13 — think it great you stick up for your friends. Do worry a bit when you take it to the point that you don’t think ORob has ever played the victim card. One of his go to moves.
All the time while saying the opposite. It’s fine he’s not a fan of Tua or Gesicki. But going over the top with inaccuracies about them is what makes me reply. Then he resorts to changing the subject and/or insults. Happens all the time.
Just so you know I’m okay, sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me. 🙂
But he does keep things interesting. Come to the night before the Fest two or three times. He’s a fun guy to talk with. Obviously has his own particular style on the board.
the topic of tua was posted above, i was replying to it, what’s with the condscending stupid comments you left, are you ignoring them?
you started in the conversation, if you don’t like the subject then don’t reply
MF 13, they are confusing the victim card with flat out confrontation, yeah when someone says something stupid around here directed at me i confront them about it most of the time, it happens all the time.
there are others that do it all the time so i mostly ignore them.
it’s very weird, if you say something bad about a players ability talking strictly football they take as a personal insult and attack you personally instead of having a legit conv to show their side of things. that’s when things go down hill.
there’s something very wrong with that, it’s a character flaw.
Ken does it all the time, he takes the fact that i don’t like Tua personally and takes unprovoked shots at me and calls me names. instead of keeping on topic or not responding at all. and if i confront his stupidity i’m playing the “victim card” the “victim card” is just a way to cloud and disguise their stupidity
can you imagine if that’s all we did here is insult people for their opinion? it wouldn’t be fun at all.
when you call them out for their ignorance they claim the “oh he’s playing victim card” routine.
all this BS is why i passed on the fest.
sometimes you just have to pack it in for the night.
since that offended you let me be the first to apologize/

Now you’re looking for kids that agree with you. LMAO!!!
You posted a video of a kid who looked like he was in 8th grade bashing Tua but can’t even pronounce his full name. I found that lame. Sorry if that offended you.
so you decided to post a condescending post, yet you weren’t happy with mine?
this is a huge waste of time arguing here, i hope everyone has a good night.
Hope you have a good one as well and especially that your back doesn’t bother you much.
It’s music night.
Transference
Technically, it’s called projection.
FWIW I don’t really care what ORob’s or anyone’s opinion on Tua or any player is so no I don’t take it personally. Never have nor have I ever called ORob names. But apparently I am the only one playing the victim card. So thank you ORob for proving me correct for just playing the victim card.
you take shots at me all the time with your snide remarks, all because of my football opinion, we’ve been over this before and i thought you said you would correct it, but it has continued. it wouldn’t take much to go back in the archives to prove it.
just the other day you insinuated my post were spam.
i get it, that’s how you roll. it’s all right but don’t deny it, own it.
if i say something bad about a football player you direct your snide remarks at me.
it’s very trollish
Since it is Fri night — the victim card song.
My brother had a stint playing drums for the Coasters

Did you guys know Chevy Chase was the original drummer with Donald Fagen and Walter Becker later to be known as Steely Dan?
One of my favorite Steely Dan tunes.
I sense some angry in the room. So I will make some more angry right before I head off to bed. 😉
Tim : are you serious LOL about Chevy Chase drumming for them ??
“He played drums with the college band The Leather Canary, headed by school friends Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Chase has called the group “a bad jazz band”; Becker and Fagen later founded the successful group Steely Dan. Chase has perfect pitch.[11] He played drums and keyboards for a rock band called Chamaeleon Church, which recorded one album for MGM Records before disbanding in 1969. To give the album a more soft-rock sound, producer Alan Lorber made several alterations in the mixing, including the muting of Chase’s bass drum, and Chase was reportedly incensed when he heard the final mix.”

Anyone know what a shotgun shack is?
That yes I do .. learned it visiting Nawlins
are you asking to find out what it means ? Or if anyone else knows ?
I was asking what it meant, but you got me to google. Sounds like a mobile home without the mobile part.
Pretty close .. same basic shape , but open at both front and back so you could fire a shotgun from front stoop right through the back door
Theoretically
This one will make you sick and angry.
and, good night yall. Gotta get up early for work.

That was a joke. I either put a smiley face or an lol after. This is what I mean that you play the victim card. You are hyper sensitive. I am not sure if that is an act or if you really are thin skinned. I am not saying this as an attack but rather it is my perception that you are easily offended. And honestly I am not sure if that is an act or not
The obsession is real
Lol…woke up to discussions on “victims”, “victim cards”, denials of victimhood, and a man that had to be a woman having a baby, right?
WTF??? Lmao!!!
No shit, right?
Sorry about that Krishna. I was in one of those moods yesterday evening. Just had one of those days where a series of events puts you in an ill mood. lol
Sharpening knives!
Lol…it used to be a tradition in this house when Mrs K was around. It was part of Thanksgiving prep work. I’d be the dish washer, dicer, slicer, and sharpener.
Now just sharpening knives….lol…that haven’t been for years!
I’m sure holiday’s are still tough my friend. Glad you had a great vacation and appreciated your posts about it. Had to google every place you mentioned. lol
It’s tough for us to travel these days. I don’t get vacation time and have to pay people to work my 48 hour weekend shift then have to pay someone to take care of our 5 dogs and 8 cats.
Cats are no problem. Keep garage door cracked and they just roam the neighborhood. Just have to make sure their feeder is full and they are good.
No worries! It might have something to do knife sharpening though…lol!
I needed the break without question….funny I think I’m a kinder, gentler Krishna now. Just don’t fuck with me! Lol.
CR was pretty special, all if it. But, I’m a beach bum and Tamarindo was certainly my go to, in fact, twice!
On to serrated knives…lol
A couple good games today to include some in state rivals.
This will be a good day for Ken to check out JAMESON WILLIAMS. lol
👍Lol
I did make Mrs K’s beer chili for Thanksgiving! Haven’t had it in a few years, it’s that time of year and feel for it, and did pretty good, for first time…lol
My chili recipe includes 1 cup of beer
Lol…well two Shiners with about 2 1/2 #s, calls for 3-4 with 4-5 #s…
First, time….but pretty darn good. Leftovers should be better, especially with a beer this time!
And, for the record, I have NEVER seen Stangerx place the victim card, no not ever!
That’s just not accurate and as nice as I can be.
Knives are done!!! 🔪
^play not place. But, both work.
Stanger doesn’t. It’s projection.
Thanks Krishna (and Phelon), but am starting to get that the victim card is something that only exists in the eye of the beholder, or opinion of the person talking about it.
WE HAD A VERY NICE 2-person Thanksgiving Day at our household. NO 600 mile one-way trips on grossly overcrowded highways. NO icy, snowy roads. NO tie-ups at incredibly overcowded airports, nor lost luggage or cancelled flights. Best of all, no threats of violence from drunk passengers who believe wearing a mask on an airline flight is treasonous.
In short, it was a PERFECT THANKSGIVING!! Hope your’s was perfect, too!! In fact, this holiday was SO PERFECT we’ve decided to do the next holiday EXACTLY THE SAME WAY, at least until my wife is able to fly and/or travel long distances by car.

Kudos to Mike E. for yet another excellent analysis of an upcoming game. I believe we CAN win this upcoming game. But we’re going to have to play one of our very best games of the season to do it. Our O-Line is going to have to open holes for our running backs. AND they’re going to have to protect TUA so that he can throw a few 40-50 yard bombs to out receivers. Can’t throw deep if you’re stepping/running backwards to avoid the rush!
Our future is in the hands of one of the NFL’s worst lines. And this is THE FAULT OF MANAGEMENT and OWNERSHIP.

BBM: YOU may be right on that. However, not the DON of Miami could have turned these O-Linemen into anything more than mediocre players. And that’s because Ross consistently picks THE WRONG PEOPLE to run his franchise. Robbie, on the other hand, eventually brought in Don Shula and gave him full control over a losing franchise and PRESTO, he took them to 3 consecutive Super Bowls.
ROSS, on the other hand, has hired proven losers.
STEVE ROSS will NEVER get this franchise to a Super Bowl, or even close to it.
I have to disagree with you a little OD. I believe the Don, in his prime, could turn this wimpy OL into a force. Just my opinion.
I know one thing, the Don wouldn’t have been playing musical chairs with them for the last 2 years. They would have been plugged in to a position until they mastered it.
Damn, just realized OSU at Michigan is on Fox. Our fox channel is out here at the office. Hopefully I stream it through my COX cable account.
Got it. Cool, it’s going to be a snow game.
👍 snow game
They are talking Chris Olave, OSU as the first WR off the board but I like his teammate Garrett Wilson better.
They are both good. Ridiculous TD catch Wilson made
Yeah, great catch! They both are expected to go WR1 & 2 in the draft. There are 2 others who could sneak in at WR2 both not names Jameson Williams.
Hope you think Marcel Louis-Jacques has the best football mind around. (from Dolphinswire)

The new Covid variant that is scaring the world has gotten a name — Omicron. No idea why they stopped going with greek letters. If turns out that current vax protection doesn’t work on it. nice to know the vax guys have a pretty quick answer.
———————————–
“Pfizer and BioNTech took actions months ago to be able to adapt the mRNA vaccine within six weeks and ship initial batches within 100 days in the event of an escape variant,” the company said in a statement.
Pfizer expects to know within two weeks whether the variant is resistant to its current vaccine.”
It’s like the flu. It’s going to keep mutating. How many shots are you going to take?
I’m hoping for annual shot, but I’d take every 3 months if necessary. It is like the flu in that way but a much more serious thing.
Probably 1 plus a booster every year like the flu
I know he is just a true freshman but UGA TE Brock Bowers is going to be the real deal. He already is. He has 3 catches for 100 and 2 TD’s this game but now has 10 TD’s receiving on the year. Also has 3 rushes for 55 yards and 1 TD.
He is a freak athlete. Great hands, route runner and blocker. Spring practice he ran a 4.5 40 and had a 40″ verticle. He is 6’4 230 but will get bigger by the time he is draft eligible.
I’ve posted about Evan Neal fairly recently. He’s a bloody freak of nature.
BBMike,
I recall you asking me about Jahan Dotson the other day. I really like him, but I don’t like him for our Phins… at least not as an early draft pick. Many have him as a 1st-2nd rounder, but his size isn’t what we need, being we already have one Jaylen Waddle.
IF we were to go WR so early, there’s this guy I really like… I think his name is Jameson Williams, or something like that?!! 😀 😉
As phenomenal as DeVante Parker has been for us — WHEN HEALTHY, which is seldom to never — it’s time to draft his replacement.
It’s taken DeVante 7 (SEVEN) years to receive a mere 23 TDs… something that took Randy Moss a single season to accomplish. Assuming DeVante catches 5 more TDs this season (NOT HAPPENING!), he’ll manage to be averaging a mere 4 TDs a season with us.
All of the highlight reel catches he’s made can’t change the facts. Oh, and a career 51.6 YPG tells me he’s a bust.
He’s one of my favorite players, but even I know he has to go.
Can only imagine doing something like that. If the plane goes high enough don’t you die?
————————-
“An American Airlines flight from Guatemala to Miami Saturday was revealed to have one additional passenger on board: A man who had stowed away in the plane’s landing gear.
The man, who came off of American Airlines flight 1182, which landed about 10 a.m. ET Saturday, was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.”
That’s incredible! Miracles do happen, even if he was a stowaway. WOW!
I enjoy posts like this, that aren’t politically divisive yet are quite interesting to most if not all!
He risked his life in a big way. Us Americans are blessed….. even if we still biotch about being here.
AMEN!
That’s unbelievable. I can’t imagine what that would be like.
Omicron – The South African doctor who first alerted authorities to the presence of the COVID-19 omicron variant reported that it presents “unusual but mild” symptoms.… It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well,” Coetzee explained. “So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer the loss of taste or smell. They might have a slight cough. There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected some are currently being treated at home.”
Yeah, let’s all panic.
NY gov declared a state of emergency, because it’s imminent the new variant is coming to NY
In other news the Sebastian inlet has been permanently closed due to a boat in China, that took on water, but didn’t sink
Was going to go to NYC for a long weekend, but it appears you have to be vaccinated to do anything so will spend my money elsewhere
Where are you thinking instead? I love New Orleans and always South Florida. Our gov fights everything like that.
Probably just hang here
Up to you man but NY and Cal are far as I know the only places with vax requirements like that. Big and cool country. Ever been to Savanah or Atlanta?
Looking for something more festive or Christmassy. Love NYC for that
Best thing for all of us would be a Covid variant that has mild symptoms (like a cold), but is extremely contagious. Would knock all the other ones out. Maybe this is the one, or maybe not. Wouldn’t even matter if could beat the vaccine at that point.
Auburn up 10-0 on Alabama, and driving. The Tigers defense has absolutely dominated Alabama. through 2+.
It’s way too early, but I like this via FA…
ONE for the Offense: Terron Armstead
and
ONE for the Defense: Chandler Jones
They’re both really good and will both be really expensive even at 31 and 32 respectively next season.
You just presented a fair case so as not to sign them… and I can respect that. I’d rather get some guys on their 2nd contract, not their 3rd and last.
I do feel that we need to sign two vet OL though. They don’t have to be pro bowl caliber but proven pros who know how to play their position.
Refs just screwed Auburn
Stephen Sondheim passed away. What learned from the stories on his death was how much Oscar Hammerstein helped him out. Sondheim came from a bad home and was friends with Hammerstein’s son. So we are talking about more than just a protege, which he did become.
Lot of musical theater history in that. But I’m probably the only old fart who gets it.
Interesting… at least to me.
Guess you’d have to be a fan of both Show Boat and Sweeny Todd to get…. combined with who did them. And we could roll out a bunch more shows for each. Never knew those two huge names were connected so tight.
Alabama is really missing Jameson Williams.
PSU/MSU a fun game to watch.
I’d rather get some guys on their 2nd contract, not their 3rd and last.
————————————–
Then Orlando Brown, Jr should be the target if you can steal him away from KC.
Gotta love idiot football players. Auburn up 10-3 and has the ball just under 2 minutes. Auburn player runs towards the sideline which lets the Bama guy throw him out of bounds and save a timeout.
So instead of Bama getting the ball at their own 2 with about 1 minute left, they get it with 1:40 left and go down and score to tie it up with about 20 seconds left. SMH
It was ridiculous…thought he could get the first and came up a couple yards short. But regardless should have turned upfield before getting that close to the sideline. Defense played too soft early in that last drive and then finally got burned on all the one on one they were playing. But I felt there should have been 1-2 intentional groundings on that drive as well…
It really seems that players understanding situational football has become the exception instead of the rule. Pisses me off.
That’s why they’re 6-6. Can’t give top teams life.
Auburn had so many chances to win this game, but their offense just kept completely screwing it up. I can’t see them winning it in OT.
Mike, what do you think of the Mets signings?
“If I’m in the game, I’m the starter. Whether I’m going against the 1’s, the 2’s, the 3’s or if I’m going on air, I’m the starter when I’m in the game… if you prepare as if you’re not going to play, you’re going to play as if you’re not prepared.”
– Mack Hollins
That’s why he’s so good on STs. He takes every snap seriously and that’s the reason he’s the first guy on the punt returner or downing the ball inside the 20. Then when he’s called on as a WR he produces there too. Hollins is an excellent football player.
Boolean – If you are looking, for a cool Christmas-y town, check out Whitefish, MT. Very cool town, goes all out for the holidays.
M13,
I read your post about Dotson, and had the same exact thought during yesterday’s regarding him. If we could have have drafted Chase , then I think Dotson would be a fit. But not he and Waddle together. Dotson reminds me of Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin with his ability to just make the big play though, albeit without their size.
Let’s hope that the play calling today continues to be aggressive on D. We’ve resembled last year’s D more in these last 3-4 games. For the love of God shock everyone and start the game with play action and throw it down the field to give the Panthers something to think about.
Yeah, right!!!
Game Day bitches
77 is 66 today, Happy Birthday to AJ Duhe
Happy Birthday A.J. Duhe! Best mud LB in the NFL!
Brian – Our 1st drive is our best drive. They will methodical as always. Hopefully we score on it like we have. Probably won’t do play action because that might be too risky.
Because they go up tempo, as well as script it
Agreed Mike. I’d like to see us come out and be more aggressive, of course the line needs to be able to hold up for that to happen but that’s another Groundhog Day discussion.
They’re usually good for the first scripted series of the game, then, it becomes a cluster fuck…lol.
Right, but maybe it won’t be so scripted if we throw deep early a few times!
I’d love them to throw deep but I feel like it’s the chicken and the egg discussion. What comes first, the ability to pass protect or the deep ball? I think when you know almost every dropback you have to get rid of the football in 2.5 seconds, either you’re going to leave your QB open to getting crushed and taking your chances or you’re going to throw shorter quick passes. That deep pass to Hollins Tua was on the run from defenders, it seems he never has time to stand in the pocket.
You know they work on it in practice too. Practice what you play. They likely drill into his head over and over that ball has to come out quick. They probably scheme everything short and medium then call a set number of deep passes per game, and we don’t see them often because even if they call 6 or 7, he may only actually get 2 or 3 of them off because of pressure.
