On defense, our line has really started to show up in games. We’re stout against the run, and we’re getting pressure more with 4, or at least did this game.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I think a big part of that is Phillips is emerging. Van Ginkel played a great game too. We’ve got a lot of talent on the defense.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Phillips is really starting to make plays in bunches. Looking ahead to next offseason, I see three needs on offense I’d fill before even looking at D.

  2. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We got beat on a fake ST play today, missed yet another kick, but did offset that with a baddass punt block TD. Our return coverage has been good, although today it was all touchbacks and dropping punts inside the 20.

    Why?
    ——————————————-
Because the top 3 wild card teams right now are Bills, Bengals and Chargers

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

My bad, I saw Vikings first not realizing the schedule that I did know because of FF and then being so high on the Dolphins win I forgot where I was for a half an hour. LOL

  4. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Get us vets at RT and center in FA, draft a LG and a big RB. Add a big bodied WR that has a history of staying healthy.
    ————————————
Who is going to play LT? Think Eich can improve that much?

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

He’s a rookie, so I’m ok leaving him there. We need to shore up the middle and Tua’s blindside.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

My thinking was to sign Orlando Brown, Jr to play LT and move Eich to RT. Draft a solid OC like Jarrett Patterson, ND in the 3rd or 4th round.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

As long as we upgrade 3 positions, I think there are lots of ways to do it. I want a stud to protect Tua’s blindside though, so I’m leery about moving Eich there with what we’ve seen from him so far.

  5. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

to cherry pick comparisons to try to prove a point is lame, burrough has had big games, he threw for 416 against the ravens. Brady has had some incredible games 400 plus multiple games, Tu has had one 300 yard game, had a 150 yard gane also, but mostly around 200 yards.
that’s because he can’t throw the ball downfield

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

because he doesn’t have the time behind this OL.

There, I finished your last sentence. lol

      • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

he doesn’t have the time because the opposing d knows he has a water pistol and most the time there’s 8 or 9 guys in the box.
if he had a strong arm and could hit the deep ball they wouldn’t play him like that and the ol would look a whole lot better.

  6. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    These are good numbers

The problem is injuries sprinkled in

    • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

avg yards passing 219, that has to be a league low

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I officially bought into Tua today. He was fantastic within the scope of the game. He was ridiculously accurate, and hit throws when he needed to over and over against the #1 pass defense in the league. All with an oline that we had to compensate for all day long.

He blew it by not falling on the bad snap, but that and the early fumble were really his only negative plays all game.

      • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Not to mention without (still) Parker & Fuller.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Pretty much all of Tua’s bad plays are related to the OL. When he can work he rarely fucks up.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Yep. Parker is so frustrating. And to this point, Fuller has never even been a Dolphin as far as I’m concerned. Dude missed how much of training camp and preseason? then has played how much this year? He’s been useless

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Hmmm? If he had not had any injuries and that was his first season, I would say the arrow is definitely pointing up.

  7. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

he’s avg 211 yards this year, eliminating the buffalo game when he got injured

  8. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Another faulty cherry picked stat…the master cherry picker.

Comparing Brady to Tua is laughable and asinine. That’s a U25 comment….lmao.

Burrow (sp?) is in his second year and not coming off major hip injury! Lmao….

A bad master cherry 🍒 picker, at that….lol

  9. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

i hope i’m wrong about tua.

    but i doubt it,
imo we will never contend with him. so the big question is how long do we suffer this guy.

  10. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

    tua is tua,
he’s not brady, burrogh, montana, brees, wilson.

he’s not even close to those guys

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Not even close to these veterans! You got something right 50 years + experience and hundreds of games to One year experience to 16 games. A bad comic, for sure, or another U25 comment!

  11. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Fuller has become oh… he’s playing today. Okay.

    Mac Jones 5.4

      I can’t stand the Patsies*, y’all. 😡

  15. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Krishna, don’t understand where you are coming from.

I only compared Tua’s #’s to Brady and Burrow to point out that you don’t have to throw for 350 yards a game to win as what all 3 of them did, win. Also, to point out that Tua had a better game today than the other 2 against the #1 pass defense.

  16. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

I hate having to suffer with an over 100+ rating QB lead the team to a 4th straight victory. Oh the agony!

  17. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I am still pissed that the 7 game Lodi g streak has once again made this a disappointing season, but I will always be glad for a win. I don’t understand the need to continue to bag on the QB after a really nice complete victory.

and their defense is on fire which makes it suck all that much more

  20. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

  21. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

5-7 does suck. At least we are 5-3 in games with Tua running the offense the whole game.

  22. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

WTF you talking about? The Jets are the best 3-8 team in the history of the NFL! 😉

  24. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Waddle is a stud, with his speed he creates separation easily and his hands have been much more consistent the last month or so. I’m debating whether to get a Holland or Waddle jersey. I usually go with offense, maybe I’ll get both.

  25. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I know most of you don’t have a Whataburger, but their new Green Chili Bacon Burger is the shit!!!

  26. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

  27. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

ATX has Whataburger..it’s a Texas thing I think.

  28. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

With Cam, everyone knows you need to stop him from beating you with his legs. This stat line is pretty incredible for a QB.

    5 for 21 for 92 yds and 2 INTs
    3 carries for 5 yds

  29. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Waddle has been a disappointment, not sure it’s his fault though, he had a great day today but he’s been almost invisible in past games.
    ——————————————–
Rob, man, it’s comments like these that make you lose all credibility with everyone. I give you the benefit of the doubt and try to see where you are coming from but this is ridiculous.

Waddle is on pace to break virtually every Dolphins rookie receiving record. He only needs 8 more receptions to break Landry’s rookie record and 124 more yards to beat Chambers’ record. Also, he only needs 4 more TD’s to break Chambers’ rookie WR TD record. The first 2 will fall for sure.

Done this all having mostly to be the #1 guy because the others are always injured.

  30. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Jaelan Phillips is changing our front 3, 4 or 5 in a very positive way. He missed a lot of TC with an injury and is now a staple on the defense in week 12. Along with Holland, what a difference two talented rookies can make.

Our season is dependent on the OL. They have struggled and we’re on our 4th center.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

We might get Deiter back soon
      So that’s good news

Phillips has been good – even early in the season the pressures were there
      Now he’s getting sacks

Ogbah, Wilkins and Phillips is a nice trip up front
I still wouldn’t mind adding another pass rusher – you can never have enough

  31. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Just ordered a white Waddle jersey for the wife. I’m kind of jealous, it looks like a throwback with the stripes on the arms. I ordered a Holland for myself, but didn’t have the white option. :/

  32. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

  33. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

On Waddle, i think he’s great, i said “i don’t think it’s his fault”, it’s no secret they’ve been using him as an avg possession rec, a devon bess.
today he got loose, but it hasn’t been that way all year.
i want to see a whole lot more of that.
he looked great breaking it loose, i haven’t seen that until today, maybe the ravens catch as well.

I don’t think it’s his fault, it’s the lack of getting him the ball in the correct positions.

I’m not the only one saying this either.

  34. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I’m sorry to shit on your pom poms but at 5-7 i don’t feel like jumping up and down and patting this team on the back when they need a kick in the ass!

  35. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

  36. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

The Defense really started coming on after they blew it against the Falcons. Starting with next game (the 2nd Bills game), we were only down 10-3 after 3 quarters and within 6 points with 9:30 left in the game. Since the Bills game, they are only giving up about 11.5 points a game the last 4 games.

The offense has improved and is averaging 24 points a game since the Bills game. Yeah, against 2 poor teams, but, also one 7-3 division leader and another team with the #1 pass defense. We put up 55 points total on those 2 good defensive teams.

The common denominator I see on both sides of the ball is execution. The execution has gotten a whole lot better despite all the OL blocking and penalty problems.

  37. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I think the big difference in this Defense was getting Davis back.

  38. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

  40. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Rob, now with your post at 6:35pm, I can see where you are coming from. I also expected more big plays from him this season like the one today. I fault Parker and Fuller for that and not being able to stay healthy (mainly Parker).

I think we have not seen more of this due to Waddle having to be the #1 guy and drawing extra attention.

  41. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Great team win today. We played really well in all phases of the game. Running, passing, defense and special teams

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

If only Tua was good, we would have won by more. Because what is important is not 23 point victories, it’s about 30 point victories. Anything less is not acceptable. LOL

  42. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Who’s 31, new RB? Some nice pace and step, hard runner, too, or so it seemed…

  45. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It would be nice if we stop throwing away points at the half. We did the same thing against Buff-2, and I feel like there was another game in there that I’m not remembering.

  46. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

Herbert stinking it up in Denver with a pick-six as Denver leads LA Chargers 27-7.
Meanwhile the OTHER LA team (the SHEEP) are also having a BA-A-A-A-DD day getting blown out in Green Bay.
Herbert, playing behind a decent to pretty good O-Line, is NOT having a great November.
TUA, playing behind perhaps the WORST O-Line in the League, is having a TERRIFIC November!!!
Starting to look like Tua will be a BETTER PRO QB than Herbert, especially IF, and WHEN, the Dolphins build at least an average NFL offensive line.

  50. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I did notice the 4 man push from the DL this game…

….is that wishful thinking on my part? Raekwon making a difference?

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think it’s one of the reason our D was so dominant. We got pressure with just 4 it seemed all game long. I’ll be curious to see how often we blitzed today.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

So disappointed when he got hurt. Thought we were on the right track…now, might be back.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

His Air Yards Per Completion was way down from his average.

This is the way they designed this offense from the get go, though. Ball/clock control, long sustained drives. They are just executing it much better now.

  60. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And, to be clear I don’t think it’s about Raekwon as much as it’s a another “piece” that we’ve needed for a woeful DL.

  61. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

  62. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tua was about as good as a QB could be with ball placement. This is what he was advertised as, a QB who sees the field well, makes quick decisions, and puts the ball on the money. Almost every throw enabled the receiver to get yards after the catch because he was so accurate. This is what we have waited for! Who cares if he can or can’t throw 70 yards downfield? He’s good enough to win with, simple as that, and he’s getting better! Enjoy it!

  63. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

With, 49er’s win, we will drop to about picking 20th. Hard to tell with all the 6-5 teams right now.

    I’m enjoying it as well,
I mean what’s not to enjoy?

it’s so fckn much fun to look at the standings and hope other teams lose because my team sucks, continually looking at all the tie breaker scenarios to see if my team can squeak in only to get kicked in the teeth.

i’ve been doing this for years, oh the fck’n joy. I sometimes wonder what it would look like to be the #1 seed. i wouldn’t know, it’s been a long time since i looked at it from that perspective.

come to think of it, after the season is over maybe we can all get together and throw a fckn party for the panthers win!

I’m just glad everyone else is happy.

  68. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t bother looking at the standings. I do hope we keep winning but I’m not going to waste my time scoreboard watching. It does suck we squandered our season away at 1-7, but this is where we are. I’ll enjoy the wins because we’re playing well, though it may end up just being promise for the future. We all kind of knew the season was done at 1-7. Now it’s just mostly about seeing what we got and making the team better for next season. Doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the good play we’re seeing now.

    • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I can’t do that because i’m still hanging off the empire state building by a thread this season.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

We will just have to live in the moment game by game this year

If we play well but we miss the playoffs, I won’t be that upset.

1-7 didn’t upset me nearly as much as the shitshow we tried to pass off as offense in Sept and Oct this season

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

For me, I just want to see Tua continue to grow and see our defense continue to establish their identity. Then, in the offseason, fix the damn oline, and the first goal has to be starting the 2022 season strong.

All true Kong, I think most of us thought we were going to build off where we left off least season. No matter how much we improve this season, I’m going to be worried we start off poorly again

that’s been a flores mark on this team, all 3 seasons we start off losing.

  72. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Rob, did you happen to see a giant ape hanging there as well?

  73. Dolphins win 4 games in a row, something to celebrate unless you are dumb and deceitful , lol

yea, that means Orob, who promised he would never bash Tua again, but bashes him like hes OCD idiot instead

what a fraud, something i already knew from my interactions with him in person

  74. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

LOL, we’re almost 3 minutes into the game, Browns are driving, and I just realized I’ve been cheering on the Browns since it started. It’s like breathing- rooting against the Ravens.

  75. its a 17 game season now, so 7 games doesnt actually eliminate a team from the playoffs.

we will likely see some 10-7 teams that make it,

but the Dolphins would need to run the table, and get a few breaks to go with it too.

  76. Lamar Jackson had his worst game of his career against the Dolphins last week.

this week, Newton had his worst game of his career, and got benched

the Miami Pass Defense, is making life very difficult for opposing QB, they are doing a great job at bringing the heat and covering receivers!

  77. Miami had 33 points against the NFL’s top pass defense,

without Parker and Fuller in the lineup, and with a sub par OL

they did it with a good mix of run and pass,
and Tua avoiding the pressure while completing almost 90 percent of his attempts

im happy to see the team winning games with defense, and ball control offense

  78. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    That was a bizarre series

  79. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

The story of David and I, I hired him to come put an A/C in my home, he comes up there, after a month and two installers, He didn’t hook up the condensate line correctly and it flooded the home, after flooding my home and causing mold in it, he finaly finished and I paid him in cash the $4500 he was charging me. one installer wanted to kill him!

at one point i had told him to take his A/C and leave.

He begged me to finish the job. A while after he was finished i had to call another A/C man to remove the air handler because after a while mold grew in there where it had flooded and i had to cut the bottom of the closet out to remove the mold on the drywall and framing clear into another room, also two doors as well, I think this was 2016. and thank god i haven’t seen him since.

i think he just over looked the condensate line, other than that he finished the job and it ran good.
    i paid him in cash.
Not having seen the guy in 6 years and the fact that when i did see him and we never had a money issue, where is he coming from saying this stuff?

Waddle was running at 22 mph on the long play.

We have to find a way to get him into open space more. He liked so fast on that slant.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I saw that on Next Gen Stats. They actually said 21.8 MPH on there.

Also impressive is his Alabama teammate CB Patrick Surtain had an INT return TD today for Denver recorded at 22.07 MPH.

Fastest this year is 22.09 by a GB WR.

You don’t realize it but Derrick Henry, at his size, is also fast and is tied with Waddle at the 5th fastest time of 21.8 on a 76 yard TD run in week 6.

RB Jonathan Taylor, who many wanted us to draft, has the 3rd and 4th fastest times recorded this season at 22.05 and 21.83.

To bad there aren’t any Nick Chubb’s in this next draft.

  88. orob, YOU were the one that claimed 10 cents a gallon gas hike led to economic ruin, that wasnt true either?

I’m baffled. You could clearly see it hit the ground. But the ex-ref and the game ref both called it the same way, so I’m just sitting here wondering what the heck I am seeing differently, lol.

  90. Per the NFL, Newton’s 23.8% completion rate was the worst for a quarterback with at least 20 attempts since Joey Harrington’s 5-for-22 effort for the Detroit Lions in 2004.

We signed Duke Riley in the off-season
We are his 3rd team on 4 years

A lot of us really like Riley before the 2017 draft including me
He ended going in the 3rd round to Atlanta

Then he struggled to start for them by hisn2nd season, and was traded to Philadelphia
He had a couple of good games for them and then hit hurt and went on IR

And that’s his first 3 years

I think he fits a limited role with us, the same way we used elandon roberts or The other lb who’s name I can’t spell

And we are due to get Vince Beigel back to
So we should see a lot of LBs come in and out of the game

Riley is a playmaker – but he will miss some tackles if he is out there too long. But as part of a deep LB depth chart I think he’s gonna be very good for us

Chris Collinsworth has no shame in talking Lamar Jackson up after a 4 interception night

Fantastic win. That makes two this year and I’m glad to see that all phases got involved and did well. It really is a great day to be a Phins fan and Tua is the real deal. Let’s move forward now please Mr. Ross? Stay out of personnel decisions and we will find more success.

It gives me hope but the 1-7 start means I will have to see to believe. Honestly, I think Flores was coaching for his job after the 1-7 start and he’s got a little breathing room now. I’m not sure Grier should stay no matter the last 5 games. Some terrible FA picks since he’s been boss.

The question is; can Flores have some semblance of continuity? You can’t succeed with new coaches every year and wasteful FA pickups. You can’t make offense a lower tier priority and continue to pass on top RB prospects if you want that grinding type of team. I know Flores has a 5 year contract but he needs to show a lot more. Next year X will be older and more fragile. We will lose some of our guys. Can we keep a solid core and learn to start the season better? I think we have to for Flores to have a 5th year. I’d need 7 wins this year for a 4th year if up to me. Show me the progress Mr. Flores or I start looking. We have a very manageable last 5 games. We honestly should win 3 of them based off the last few weeks of play. 8-9 isn’t good but it’s not terrible.

  94. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I don’t think this team wants to play “grinding type” football, they are mastering the Dink & Dunk offense. it’s why Brown is the only RB on this team who is not a scat back.
I don’t think you can say at this point that Grier’s draft picks were a bust, these guys are young, the jury is still out on them.
i also don’t think all phases clicked, the offense struggled early, ST’s and D gave us a huge lead.

  95. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

Tua didn’t throw a pass over 20 yards yesterday, it’s very evident this offense is built around the skil set of tua.

for the most part that’s all we got, we have no deep passing game. we have no brute running game.

My problem is; can that win against the upper quality teams in the NFL?

judging from the lack of offense in the stats, Tua with 230 yards passing, and that’s deemed as a great day for him. our running stats are among the worst.

not a way i would think we could have success, too easy to defend.

did they kniw what they were getting when they drafted Tua, or once they got him they figured the only way to be successful is the dink and dunk?

It would appear to be their plan from day 1, very odd we would build an offense like this?

hey, i give him credit for being very accurate, most of the time that’s all you need.

it just seems his lack of downfield or outside the numbers strikes make this offense an easy read.

it also creates a log jam for our running game and pass pro.

Got it…..we all know what you think….lol. It’s old, unimaginative and short-sighted.

The OL and coaching seem to be more of an issue and most people agree with this assessment, not yours. You’re entitled to be wrong just like everyone else….lmao.

      • lol hes like a child, keeps fishing for negative attention

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Except last year it was his release point and couldn’t throw over the line….there is something called passing lanes that ALL QBs use to get the ball out, some more times than at other times. LOL….

        Same old tired narrative…..with a spin….oh my.

    • why would anyone believe Your OCD deceit?
You said You would never bash Tua again, and YET, You do it at an OCD fucked up brain rate

why did you lie about never bashing TUa again?

if you have the money, why not buy some Midol and Tampax?

lmao you are a broke idiot, who lies all the time for attention
