Dolphins win streak at 5, BYE Week is here . . .

If you were on the blog yesterday, you’ve probably read that one of our own here at FMU has been dealt a serious blow, Jon “Stanger” suffered a serious heart attack 2 weeks ago. The good news is he survived it and is now out of the ICU and heading in the right direction. If you know and have met Stanger, he’s one of the kindest, nicest people you can meet. It was very touch and go there for him, we’re all thankful he’s beginning to improve. Our best from FMU for a full and speedy recovery to a fine man. Godspeed in your recovery Jon!

I’ve said it here myself because you have to feel that the BYE week may end up actually hurting us this season despite the fact that this is the time of season where it can really help a playoff push by getting guys healthy. On the other hand momentum is real, and the 5 week winning streak is now over, without actually playing. It’s going to take a lot of focus by our team to stay on track when we face the NY Jets at home at Hard Rock Stadium 12/19. At 6-7, defeating the Jets would bring us to .500 and still relevant for the playoff push, astonishing considering our 1-7 start.

The defense has come alive and has really sparked this team. The offense has done enough to win games but the defense has been the key. Tua has run this short passing offense as well as it could be run, making quick decisions, and quick, accurate throws. All this completely out of necessity due to the O-line’s inability to pass block and run block. For the millionth time it’s not because Tua can’t throw further than 5 yards, and to give ORob a pass here, he’s far from the only one who says that, I hear it on NY sports shows, I see it on twitter all the time from Dolphins fans and it’s just become like a tag Tua has now, that he has a pop gun arm. Personally, I couldn’t give a rats ass as long as when our O-line improves, that he shows all these people he can throw the ball downfield, but until then, I’m fine with him doing what’s necessary.

About that defense, our 2nd first round draft pick of 2021, DE/LB Jaelan Phillips has really turned up the heat! Of course it’s not just Phillips, Emmanuel Ogbah is as steady as they come, always bringing strong pressure from the other side. Ogbah leads the team with QB hits with 19, followed by AVG with 18, and then Phillips with 16. Of course, the rookie Phillips now leads with 8.5 sacks, followed by Ogbah with 6. Ogbah, Wilkins and Phillips are tied with 7 TFL. Xavien Howard has 4 INT’s, 2 FF’s, 2 FR’s, and 14 passes defensed, easily the leader on this team. Rookie Jevon Holland has also been a huge spark, rushing the QB, making tackles, snaring INT’s. He’s basically everywhere, especially since S Brandon Jones has missed some time.

Things are looking up people, the Dolphins are looking legit and our good friend Jon (Stanger) is healing and on the mend. Now Sonny can take us into the BYE week with the BYE Week Bi-Babe.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

YOU ARE THE MAIN GASLIGHTER HERE!!!!

you cant call out a minor liar, and support the orange pedophile and insurrectionist liar, makes you look dumber than You are

Too bad I’m already eliminated 🤬🤡

  7. steveccnv says:

If we can field a team we just need to continue winning and everything will work itself out

    • manitobafinfan says:

I wasn’t overly concerned when was confined to RB room and Holland … waddle now? Will Tua be next ?? REALLY hope it clears up and Waddle can play and no more cases

  8. CavalierKong says:

All 3 Wildcard spots are now at 6 losses, and a lot of the teams ahead of us play each other. There are so many paths for us now. Win out, and we’re a near certainty to get in.

We’re dealing with some adversity this week, but we’re at home and it’s the Jest. No excuses. This is still a must win. Get it done.

  9. CavalierKong says:

“But the NFL released new COVID rules Thursday afternoon that could allow asymptomatic players who test positive to return as quickly as a day after testing positive if they get a single negative test and a negative rapid-result test.”

  10. CavalierKong says:

    ▪ With Jakeem Grant traded to Chicago earlier this season and Waddle and Holland on the COVID list, the Dolphins have nobody on the 53-man roster who has returned a punt in a game this season.

Albert Wilson is the only player on the 53-man roster who has returned a kickoff in 2021, and he returned only one.

Players with experience as returners, who are options for those roles on Sunday, including receivers Wilson, Preston Williams, and Isaiah Ford and cornerback Noah Igbinoghene.

Sucks going to the game and key players being out.

  13. Phindog says:

Never sucks going to a game. You will smile and like it. Please have a beer for #Stangerstrong while you are there 👍

  14. gonna miss Waddle, no doubt about it, but its the damn jests!,

there is no excuse to lose to those degenerates

  15. ocalarob says:

what a game last night, i was watching and thinking to myself….self…..
“so that’s what a real qb looks like”.

  16. ocalarob says:

get well stanger, i miss our intense discussions!

  17. Mike E. says:

I can’t seem to find any info on this at all. If Gaskin passes two consecutive COVID tests, he can play Sunday, right? I know he hasn’t practiced all week, so would he play if he could? I would think so, but not sure.

    • ocalarob says:

i doubt we’ll miss Gaskins, Waddle concerns me way more

      • Mike E. says:

Not sure how you can say that. Ahmed is OUT, Lindsay OUT, Duke Johnson has 4 carries, and ZERO receptions. We throw more than we run, and it’s far from certain whether Malcolm Brown can play, and if he does, he doesn’t catch the ball much and has 34 carries the whole season. I hope Gaskin comes back.

      • ocalarob says:

duke johnson is a great rb, may be better than gaskin, we also picked up another rb.
its not good that gaskin is not available however i’d rather have holland and waddle playing way more than gaskin.

Has anyone been able to get an update on YOUNG STANGER?

  19. ocalarob says:

here’s another guy i knew who had a heart transplant, Mark Frye, Fryes tool rental on davie rd extension.
He, my other friend Jeff Lawyer who had a heart transplant & i were good friends, sadly Jeff didn’t survive but Mark is doing great.

Chargers rushed for 192 yards last night

  21. The Flying Pig says:

Chargers remaining schedule: @ Texans, Broncos, @ Raiders

  22. ocalarob says:

if you have a severe heart attack, your heart muscle is starved of oxygen and it slowly dies. depending on how much damage, if it’s too much the bad tissue takes over the good tissue. if that’s the case then i think a transplant may be necessary.

    • Ken says:

There is no talk of a transplant as far as I know. The complications being dealt with right now are not necessarily specific to the heart. They involve infection, fluid buildup and maintaining a stable airway. There is no point in speculating at this point. His wife has been keeping me in the loop and I will share information when I know more but please don’t speculate at this point is all I ask.

  23. ocalarob says:

here’s the article that talks about my Friend Jeff Lawyer , towards the bottom, we were great friends, he was my neighbor, he was older than me and taught me a lot about construction, cars. etc

The most recent news I’ve heard is from 12/14. Lots of complications and some setbacks. Vitals are normal.
    ___

Well I hope we get some good news soon. I’ve never met the man, but he’s one the best of us on here.

  25. sb7mvp says:

Shift in topic, but if anyone’s a Billy Joel fan, what do you think is his best song?
    For me it’s goodnight Saigon.

  26. i hope Orob doesnt need another brain transplant, lol

  27. ocalarob says:

I wish Stanger the best, i’m not speculating anything about him. I have no idea his situation.

just explaining my experiences with a heart attack.

  28. Ken says:

    David:
I did not interpret ORob’s discussion of heart transplants as trolling Stanger. My only point is that we have limited information and speculating on possible outcomes and prognosis is likely not going to be helpful. I honestly think I can say Stanger would like us all to try to get along than starting fights with one another right now.

    • ok, i am glad if you are ok with it, orob seemed really insensitive about it to Me, but

its probably a good idea to give Stanger our thoughts and prayers, not just say it, but do it

i will pray for him and keep positive thoughts going, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

  29. The Flying Pig says:

    Ken

Thanks for keeping the blog posted about the status. Everyone appreciates your efforts

  30. ocalarob says:

David, maybe it did come off as a little insensitive, that wasn’t my intention though.

just explaining my experiences with that subject.

    • The Flying Pig says:

      It came off as insensitive

But no one really knows how to handle these things. I’m sure you didn’t mean it that way, so I’m over it, and I don’t think you have to explain yourself anymore. It’s assumed by that you didn’t have bad intentions

It also comes off as insensitive for David to start poking back at you. I’m sure he doesn’t mean it that way either

Everyone is upset about it and everyone handles it differently

But it’s probably best for everyone is to drop it altogether. It’s a sensitive topic and it’s best to not discuss it on this blog in any way other than updates and best wishes.

So let’s all try to do that going forward, and thank Ken for his updates

  31. Ken says:

As an FYI there is an update from Stanger’s wife this morning. He is breathing on his own and is even beginning to speak a little bit. He will be transferred to a regular room so there has definitely been improvement

  32. sb7mvp says:

    For Stanger on music Friday

  33. Randy says:

I don’t pray but my thoughts are with stanger and appreciate the updates by Ken. Thanks!
