and for the record if the guy keeps his stupid shit up i will bring his family into it, just leave me the fuck alone is that too much to ask around here.
you act like it’s ok to continually stalk some one yet i should watch what i say.
    FUCK THAT!

    • Krishna says:

You’re a sick dude who can’t take criticism about anything, let alone football. Only a victim would call what I do stalking. I read just about every post and comment on some. I disagree with your football positions and let you know about it.

As I stated clearly, I’m out!!! And you win, Orob.

      • ocalarob says:

Not sure what i ever did to you but you’re minimizing your actions, you are fixated on every word i say, 90% of your post here are bashing me and i do my best to avoid you, you attack me when i’m not even here!

why can’t you just scroll past the stuff i say that you think is absurd, and be cordial in the stuff you’d like to talk about.

as for your wife, i actually met her and thought she was very nice. i just asked how you would feel if i attacked her, never did i say anything bad about her.

i know this post will fall upon deaf ears, don’t know why i bother

  3. its maddening to think that many want to toss Tua away already, saying he doesnt have it

reminds me of when we wanted to toss Tannehill away, and said he doesnt have it

of course that came back and bit us in the ass last week

    • steveccnv says:

Years back I mentioned our GM was just acquiring players and not building a team, well Grier is no different

Tua’s strength is RPO, get him on OL to actually make the threat of the run have an effect

Also get him some receivers that match his style

  4. Tim Knight says:

    Yikes!

  5. New Age says:

    UK,

That was a great post and it’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about the last few weeks. While Flores is better than Gase, that’s not a high bar so where is he at? I don’t see a successful blueprint like you stated. I think the drafting has been pretty awful for how many picks we’ve had and the same stands for FA pickups. After 3 years, what is the identity of this team? Tennessee is a smashmouth running team with a good defense. KC is an explosive offense based on three elite players with a solid defense this year. Brady has an explosive offense with a great defense. Bengals have a three headed WR attack and a decent defense.

From what I’m seeing, you need a powerful offense and just a decent defense. Our identity, from what I’ve seen, is a great pass defense. The End. Our best offensive player is a rookie and the OL is terrible. Our defense is solid, but they still can’t stop the run 3 years later. You can’t fix all this by next year and Tua has never had the tools Herbert or Burrow have had. It’s mainly due to an always injured WR room but we keep the same guys every year or find more injured dudes. It really is Grier’s job to find us the right talent. He’s failed at this completely.

I don’t think this regime can get it done so I’m ready for different, but I can understand why people would give Flores another chance. He’s a solid coach and a great defensive mind, just not HC material (or can’t win with what Grier gives him which is on him).

    • steveccnv says:

You could say Flores would be a good coach, if he could just start the season better, but that would just get us to the playoffs, so think Flores is just building a team to get to the playoffs

Making wholesale changes every year doesn’t help, it also doesn’t help changing coaches every 3 years

Flores, after 3 years, doesn’t have IT yet, but he does have something to build on, like Belicheat he needs a little time to figure it out

  6. Ken says:

ORob don’t be a jerk. You said you would be respectful and honor Herd’s requests and you just went back on that. Whatever you think Krishna was guilty of it didn’t warrant even a mention of his wife. Be a decent human being please

  7. Ken says:

    David:
You trying to talk sense into ORob you have been trolling him as well talking about his personal finances and threatening him with hellfire so you knock it off as well

    • i never threatened him will hell fire, lol

im not doing anything now but talking about football

      • BTW i wasnt even here when Orob flipped his gasket and went off with Krishna

but im not attacking him now, gotta go off working again

      • Ken says:

The other day you were quoting the book of revelations in response to ORob. So yes you did and it was bullshit. I am tired of this bullshit here.

      • ukfinfan says:

You and most others too Ken. Saw the other day Randy has virtually stopped posting as a result, and I’m sure a lot of others look in and turn right around. Anyone remember FFR? It shouldn’t be difficult – if you don’t want to get involved, turn the other cheek and don’t engage.

  8. steveccnv says:

Re-sign Gesicki for no more than 10m, which I’d be ok with, but even that might be too high

Parker needs to go, once his dead money is low enough

These guys don’t really fit with Tua, we could surely use 1 RAC receiver and one bulldozer receiver

  9. sb7mvp says:

Whodini was wrong. The freaks don’t come out at night.

  10. ukfinfan says:

Thanks New Age and Krishna. Whilst I take your point New Age – all the recent teams that have had success have had the type of profile you propose – I also don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” formula for dominance. It sounds like stating the bleeding obvious, but winning is about building a really good all-round team, having good depth and getting lucky with injuries. I think we’re an epic fail on point 1 and aren’t too bad in some areas on points 2 and 3 which overlap to some extent.

It was interesting to read Tim’s comments on the game day thread, when he went against the flow and said the other team also plays and wants to win too. He got a lot of kick back on that but it is true. We partly beat ourselves by over-complicating a game-plan and not executing it but we were also over-matched, regardless of whether we played our best football. Our much vaunted D did a pretty decent job coverage-wise early doors, but was pushed about up front most of the time and gashed in the running game. It had to take the field way too long and ultimately, as Baldy said and we are all too familiar with, it eventually broke after bending too much.

Where I’m at with the current set up is based on what I read about Tomlin below. I’m not saying Flores can repeat this, but to keep the team on side at 1-7 and to win 7 on the bounce takes real leadership – the kind that doesn’t come along every day, regardless of the teams we beat. That’s why I think he needs better assistants to improve the talent we have, but probably shouldn’t be jettisoned too soon based on some good traits that aren’t always easy to find.

It really is a tough call that Ross now has to make with regards to the future running of the franchise after the Pats game. Get it right and we may be half way there. We have some good young talent as well as some holes to fill. Blow it all up again and we go right back down the snake to the first square. Wash rinse repeat. If I were making that call, it would be to keep Flores, but to try bring a GM in who can make a better job of filling all our holes.

  11. ukfinfan says:

Hat’s off to the young man!

  12. ukfinfan says:

Just going back to the subject of coaching:

    Followed up by:

    Then:

For the record from a later tweet:

Ah yes, going from 428 yards as a rookie to 288 as a 2nd year player and 71 as a 3rd year player is definitely trending in the right direction.

Honestly, if reporters and the fanbase can see through disingenuous BS tweets like these with destroy the coaches credibility, is it any wonder they aren’t getting through to the players or earning their respect? Flores needs to stamp this kind of mediocrity out. If he can’t, he isn’t the man for the job after all.

  13. ukfinfan says:

At last, a shred of honesty and something to respect!

  14. bailbondmike says:

Thanks UK for all the info!

  15. Rockphin says:

Really sorry to see a good guy like Krishna get chased off by a piece of shit like Orob. Dude has reached chem trail levels. He just trolls the entire blog while crying victim anytime someone calls him out. Fucker is the FIRST to resort to personal attacks EVERY TIME and denies it and cries victim again and again.

Have a good time with the troll and his shit stirring posts. I’m out too.

  16. bailbondmike says:

Man, I feel like I got shorted on my quarterly bonus check until I went and looked at the books. We didn’t do well Nov & Dec. Hopefully things will change with this new 1st appearance judge they got. Dude must have little man syndrome or something. He is only 5’5. No offense to any shorties here on the blog. I’m not tall either at 5’10.

Dude is automatic at setting bond on a single charge at 5k on misdemeanor charges that normally get a 1k bond.

I was kidding about the little man syndrome. Some judges are harder on some offenses than other judges. This one just happens to be hard on Battery Domestic Violence and DUI.

Many of you would probably agree on the Battery DV but you have to keep in mind, here in Escambia County, there are many baby momma’s who know how to play the system. Baby daddy pisses them off and they drum up false charges. It gets thrown out eventually, but the baby momma goes unpunished for filing a false report.

  17. bailbondmike says:

Man, what’s up with people grabbing their football and going home. Simple, don’t attack people about their opinion and you won’t get attacked. Just give your opposed opinion. If they are kicking a dead horse, just scroll past.

Rock, don’t go! TM is dropping a new song/video Friday that I was going to post for you. 😉

  18. bailbondmike says:

I guess I will have to post the mind blowing “tradypants” mock drafts now.

  19. bailbondmike says:

I may have been a bit unfair concerning WR Chris Olave. I went back and watched him vs a couple of teams last night. He is more smooth than explosive. He is really good against zone coverage and knows where to sit down vs zone. He is not the sharpest of route runners and tries to rely on his speed to get open in man. His best route vs man is a come back route, IMO, as they have to respect his projected 4.41 speed. Ohio State runs a lot of deep routes which really opens up the shorter come back routes. Not sure how he would do in our offense. He has good hands and makes difficult catches. I think I would have to move him up to #4 on my list.
    WR1 Jameson Williams
    WR2 Jahan Dotson
    WR3 Garrett Wilson
It’s a tight race between those top 3 for me.
    WR4 Chris Olave
The 5th spot is a tight race again.
    WR5 Treylon Burks, 6’3 232, 4.45 projected or Drake London, 6’5 210. 4.48 projected
Honorable mention (LOL) Alec Pierce, 6’3 213, 4.39 projected

There are some big names out there who are in the top 5 on some boards but don’t make my top 5 list due to their projected 4.5+ 40 times. They give me separation anxiety. Not the usual separation anxiety but you know what I mean. lol

If they run better at the combine/pro day, I may change my mind. I am mainly talking about David Bell, Purdue and John Metchie, Alabama.

    • bailbondmike says:

I have not looked at all the WR’s or small school guys yet. So, there’s that. Just going by top 100 on several draft boards right now and looking at those guys trying to find a #1.

    • bailbondmike says:

TBH, there are only 2 I view as a potential #1 are Williams and Dotson. The others I see as pieces of a puzzle. You don’t think you are going to get one of them, then maybe you have to bring in A-Rob or Adams and add one of these other pieces to the puzzle.

  20. bailbondmike says:

BTW, I believe, if the 49er’s lose at the Rams, the Saints win at Falcons and Eagles win at Dallas, the 49er’s will be eliminated from the playoffs. Not sure how the scenario breaks down. I need Cav, lol.

Our 1st pick will, at least, move up 4 spots from #22 to #18.

  21. wyoming85 says:

The way the 49ers miss the playoffs is by losing to the Rams AND the Saints beat the Falcons.

    UK,

You always bring really good stuff here when ya post, Bro! Excellent! Thank you for your dedication and love for our Phins!

  24. mf13ss says:

  25. New Age says:

    BBM,

I really liked Olave after they played Clemson the other year, but he doesn’t get a lot of rave reviews and his numbers aren’t eye popping considering OSU has an explosive offense most years. He does seem smooth rather than fast which makes me wonder at how well he’ll translate. I also don’t really want smooth in an offense where we struggle to get separation but maybe I’m overthinking it.

  26. mf13ss says:

This video was made toward the beginning of the 2021 CFB season (9/29/2021). Thus, it doesn’t include what Jameson Williams eventually went on to do in 2021. A little backstory on the guy…

His CAREER WAS OVER! Then Alabama SAVED Him (The Comeback Story of Jameson Williams)

  27. mf13ss says:

To all y’all Draftniks out there, just a friendly reminder: Jacoby Brissett only signed a 1-year deal with us last year, meaning unless we re-sign him for the 2022 season, our only other QB aside from Tua is PS Jake Luton.

We’re either going to re-sign Brissett, sign a different FA QB, or we’ve going to draft one this year.

As for me? Even if we re-sign Brissett, I’d be drafting a QB at some point in the 2022 Draft. Luton isn’t very good and if Tua should get hurt, we’d be down to, say Brissett (should we re-sign him). For the very sake of depth, we almost need to draft a QB this year at some point.

    • mf13ss says:

And in NO WAY am I suggesting to draft a QB early, in order to replace Tua! Maybe use a mid-rounder to get a developmental QB. That’s all I’m saying.

    • bailbondmike says:

I was looking at free agent QB’s and it’s slim pickings but still some of them would be an upgrade over Brissett.

    • bailbondmike says:

Piggy and I talked about Desmond Ridder a while back with our 3rd pick. After watching more tape on Cincy (Alec Pierce), I don’t like his throwing motion and he underthrows a lot of footballs. He has dropped out of favor with me.

      • mf13ss says:

I can see I have a LOT of catching up to do when it comes to evaluating college players this time around! You and Pig are WAY ahead of me this year.

    • bailbondmike says:

Another thing, I was looking at this draft class and it’s like any QB over 6’1 is a rarity. There were only like 6 maybe 7 in the entire class (not counting smaller schools). Crazy. There are a bunch of Gardner Minschew’s out there this draft. LOL

In that I mean smallish in stature but real gamers like the kid from Wake Forrest.

      • mf13ss says:

In just dipping my toe in the waters, I see the same thing about QB heights… seems to be a trend now in the college game, and the NFL is following that trend into more spread Offenses.

      • mf13ss says:

For that very reason and with Tua being the starter (meaning, we play more of a spread Offense), I don’t see Brissett coming back. Brissett is more of a downfield passer and our current Offense doesn’t fit with him and vice-versa.

  28. bailbondmike says:

I made pancakes and extra crispy bacon for lunch today. That shit was so good, I want it again for dinner. lol

  29. mf13ss says:

You guys KNOW that we’re not going to hear the end of Deshaun Watson to Miami for a long time now. Buckle up… it’s going to get VERY fugly.

  30. mf13ss says:

I’ve got to point something out… behind a makeshift and very WEAK Stealers* O-Line, Najee Harris is now the #4 rusher (rushing yards) in the NFL this season after last night. He’s only 33 yards away from beating Joe Mixon out as the #2 rusher in the NFL this season.

    • mf13ss says:

Najee has also 0 fumbles this year as a RB. He’s the only RB in the NFL to not fumble with OVER 210 carries (Alvin Kamara).

      • mf13ss says:

Najee is also #2 in rushing 1st downs this season, AGAIN, behind a makeshift/patchwork assembly of an O-Line.

      • mf13ss says:

So we could have had Najee over Jaelen Phillips, right? No, that’s NOT the argument! We just need a POWER BACK (like Najee) who can provide us with a running game. Rashaad Penny makes sense.

What happened to the 3rd Watt brother you see in the sub commercials? He must have opted to be in the band in high school. LOL

He played FB last night for Pitt, he even got a carry

  32. wyoming85 says:

    Good for him!

  33. The Flying Pig says:

    M13

    I wouldn’t mind drafting a QB with a day 2 or day 3 pick
I actually think it’s a good draft for it

There a lack of elite talent at QB, but a collection of QBs with decent skill sets to develop

I think at some point you have to think bout grooming a backup and even a guy who can compete to start
But I’m a fan of being patient with Tua
To me drafting a young QB with no expectation to see him start is a good plan while we wait for Tua

  34. bailbondmike says:

To finish up on WR, for now. I really like Garrett Wilson if we miss on Williams and Dotson.

Wilson is Waddle like. Wilson is bigger though at 6′ 203 pounds and projected to run a 4.41. Doesn’t seem to matter if he is facing zone or man press. He is very good at shaking off man press at the line and use his speed to get separation.

Sign A-Rob or Adams to go with Waddle and Wilson. That would be sick as hell.

  35. bailbondmike says:

Regarding mid round QB’s. One guy I was keeping my eye on last 2 seasons after a phenomenal freshman year was Kendon Slovis of USC, 6’3 210. He really regressed and got worse each year after but the talent is there and a good QB coach may be able to help him. I did not watch him in any games this year just gong by the numbers.

This explains it all. He has not declared for the draft but has entered the transfer portal with an outside chance he declares.

  36. bailbondmike says:

This was his freshman season. Just posting incase he declares due to this weak QB class. You can see the talent as a freshman.

  37. The Flying Pig says:

It will be funny if we ended up chasing both Watson and Harbaugh this off-season

What a joy the off-season will be 🤮🤮🤮

  38. The Flying Pig says:

It will be funny if we ended up chasing both Watson and Harbaugh this off-season

What a joy the off-season will be 🤮🤮🤮

  39. bailbondmike says:

If you are not sold on Tua and Sam Howell falls to 2nd round, do you take him?

He is tough as nails. Had five 300+ passing games and 5 100+ rushing games with 2 more games at 98 yards rushing. His best production wise last year was 341 passing with 101 rushing vs. then #11 ND.

He would be a viable backup/potential future starter. Do you pull the trigger in the 2nd round?

He’s got a sweet deep ball.

  40. steveccnv says:

If Balt beats Pitt on Sunday and Indy loses to Jags, that leaves 2 spots still up for grabs

LAC vs LV winner gets a spot, but if they tie, they both get in

    Good thing it’s not soccer

  41. Tim Knight says:

Okay, what the hell happened last night?

    • mf13ss says:

Dunno, I’m trying to stay out of the fray. All I know is that I lost a LOT of respect for somebody JUMPING into the fray screaming, “VICTIM CARD, VICTIM CARD!!!”. And that guy is not named ORob, Krishna, or David.

I’d rather see the fire put out, rather than somebody trying to inflame the situation. He knows who he is, and he should be ashamed of himself.

      • mf13ss says:

And seriously no, it’s none of our moderators, to be sure, folks.

      • Tim Knight says:

I really don’t feel like going back and reading everything. I don’t know who victim dude is, but from the recent comments I read, ORob apparently went personal on Krishna and his deceased wife which made me cringe. I just don’t get how anything here goes there. SMH

  42. Tim Knight says:

I was talking to my friend last night who’s also a Dolphins fan, we were talking about Tua moving forward and he was all about drafting Herbert. Even he said, if we move on from Tua he will go on to have a really good career wherever and we’re going to regret it. He said it’s a double whammy. We should have drafted Herbert but we didn’t. We end up taking Tua but move on too early and we fuck that up too. LOL

  43. Ken says:

I want to take a moment to address the posts from earlier today by 2 specific bloggers. ORob and David had both been warned repeatedly to engage civilly here on this blog. Despite the warnings they continue daily to fail to do so. Things have come to a head today with several long time and valued members of this blog indicating they have left, are leaving or will be here on a reduced basis. The behavior of 2 bloggers should not ruin the experience here for everyone. Accordingly they are banned. This is a decision not made lightly and was made after much consultation. They were not banned for any opinion they hold but rather for their behavior towards each other and other bloggers. There were comments made that were unacceptable in any civil discourse. It is not the admins desire to moderate content and police this board but we will not let bloggers be driven by the behavior of 2 specific individuals. The length of the ban or if it is permanent is still an active issue. We do not need to tell most of you here to behave but I implore everyone here to be civil with one another

    • mf13ss says:

*ahem*, yet the troller (who has trolled me, too, for a great time) is not banned?

I’d recommend a brief suspension, not banning. JMO, as always.

      • mf13ss says:

We cannot afford to lose more people on this blog, Admins.

      • mf13ss says:

It sucks that even a regular such as Stanger isn’t here currently. If we can’t bring more folks in, this blog will dry up, y’all.

      • Ken says:

I cannot tell you the number of people who have communicated with me in recent weeks complaining they that don’t come here anymore because of those 2 specific individuals. We are losing bloggers because of them. We don’t like doing this but we had little choice

I’m saying there is a difference between BANNING and suspension. One is permanent, the other is temporary. And the mere suspension process is probably enough for those ‘suspended’ to probably go elsewhere.

We have a GOOD fam here, fam! Even siblings get into it hardcore. I don’t want to lose our Brothers over a mere ‘prick-waving’ battle.

I guess I’d just like to see our team come out and put together a good game and look better than we did against the Titans.

    • Mike E. says:

I feel like it would be nice to beat the Patriots, especially because they need it. On the other hand, it’s like getting a consolation prize. I was listening to WQAM this morning and Brian Baldinger (Baldy) was talking about the TEN game. He was talking about how easily the Titans manhandled us on in the run game. Just ran right at us and just moved us out of the way. I know it makes people feel better to just say Tua sucks, but our defense which is our best unit didn’t step in the big game, as they usually don’t. It’s a team game, and I didn’t expect Tua to light up the Titans, but I think you’d all be lying if you say you didn’t think we had a chance to hurt them while we were on D. Anyway, coming up small is a way of life for our us fans, it’s what our team does.

      • CavalierKong says:

I probably will never rewatch that game or look up stats/ analysis on this one, and I might be wrong in reality regardless of my live game perception, but I didn’t feel like we got manhandled until the last half of the 4th quarter. I thought our D handled them pretty well to the tune of 17 points with no absolutely no help at all from our offense or special teams, then it felt like to me the D kinda quit, or maybe got gassed, and then the wheels fell off.

I know I was the one talking about excuses before the game, so I feel the irony here, lol, but I really felt like the refs had some very critical moments that contributed to the final outcome. I’m not saying we lost because of them, but I think this game would have been a lot closer without some bad calls, and that no call PI on Parker was the worst of the lot.

Regardless, the truth of the matter is, we came up small in a big moment again, there’s no argument there.

Well maybe it’s basketball season for you!!!!!

      • CavalierKong says:

lol, yeah, that’s kind of what I’m saying. I know we have a game left and I’m trying to convince myself the season isn’t over for me, but if I can’t get up for NE, then who am I kidding?

I’m sure once the game starts, I’ll be into it, but getting eliminated right when we got ourselves in took the wind out of my sails.

  54. steveccnv says:

What was the deal with Palardy in the first qtr?

Was he punting against a stiff wind?

He’s been mostly bad all year, not sure what Grier was thinking there

    • CavalierKong says:

Right?! What the heck was with his 1st quarter? It was multiple punts and even though our offense moved the ball and the Titans didn’t they got better field position with each of our drives. Their first scoring drive started at like our 45 after all they had was two 3 and outs (if I remember correctly.) That’s crazy.

I thought it was the wind, but the Titans didn’t seem to have any problems that direction.

      • ukfinfan says:

Regrettably, those opening 5 series probably determined the game in terms of momentum and psychology. We started from our 17 and had 2 drives with 8 plays, gaining a total of 26 yards. Tenn started their first drive at their 30, gained 6 yards on 6 plays on 2 drives then started their 3rd drive at our 46 and scored a TD. Just think about that – they gained 24 yards of field position between drive 1 and drive 3 (their 30 to our 46) whilst being out-gained by 20 yards on actual plays run (we gained 26 on our first 2 drives vs their 6). That’s how bad Palardy was. He was kicking into the wind but he also seemed to be trying to max the height on his kicks. Maybe he never studied physics? A line drive punt would have been far more effective on the second punt after seeing the first die on him. He’s also being linked (as holder) to Sanders form as place kicker by some. I’m guessing we won’t be seeing much of him next year at least.

      • ukfinfan says:

Actually, maybe he did try to adjust but it wasn’t a good adjustment LMAO

I was listening to WQAM this morning and Brian Baldinger (Baldy) was talking about the TEN game. He was talking about how easily the Titans manhandled us on in the run game. Just ran right at us and just moved us out of the way. I know it makes people feel better to just say Tua sucks, but our defense which is our best unit didn’t step in the big game, as they usually don’t. ______________________________________________________________________________

Our D only gave up 185 yards in the first 3 Qs MikeE.

They had drives of 6,9,9,13,27, 46 and 75 in ascending order through 3 Qs. The 46 yarder resulted in a TD and the fumble deep in our own territory which yielded a FG together with the later 11 play 75 yarder added a further 7. In those conditions, the way we played and the score at 17-3, the game was lost by then.

On balance, I think our D acquitted itself reasonably well to only concede 17 points and 185 yards in 3Qs against what is now the #1 seed in the AFC. What we did, as everyone knows, was shit the bed offensively. Scoring 3 points is a laughing stock level of implosion, but the Tenn D deserve plenty of credit for that, just as our D has done in winning lots of games for us this season and as Tim pointed out. As I alluded to earlier, we just have too many weaknesses offensively to be a consistent challenger at present. When that happens the D eventually breaks. 114 yards and 17 points in Q4. Even rumours that Tanny wanted to “pile it on” when he saw we were a wounded animal, which if true has sullied my opinion of him greatly.

No complimentary football from us whatsoever. Just another “coming up small” as you mention.

Like New Age I have also given a lot of thought to our predicament. What we need to be able to do is to consistently dictate games, not be dictated to. Until that happens, we will continue to hover around the fringes of mediocrity. It’s not like we haven’t all had plenty of practice of getting used to that (except OD who was there for our glory years).

    • olddolphan says:

INDEED I WAS THERE FOR OUR GLORY YEARS, Mr. UK. – – And thank you for another terrific post!! – – – Back in the day, WE DID DICTATE the course of the games we played in, for the most part. Today, tho’, things are starkly different under the ownership of Steve Ross (aka “Little Stevie Blunder”). A fish rots from the head down, and, believe me, this franchise IS ROTTING AND HAS BEEN ROTTING FOR ALMOST A DECADE AND A HALF. From the ticket office to the scouting department to the GM’s and Directors of Football Operations to the big numbers of assistant coaches and head coaches, this franchise has been mired in mediocrity, failure, and, in most cases, A LOSING RECORD by season’s end. NONE OF THIS IS OPINION. ALL OF IT IS FACT!! “COMING UP SMALL” has become the unintended motto for this franchise.
      —————————–
WE can debate draft choices ’till the cows come home. We can debate coaches strategy and GM’s philosophy, too. But NONE OF THIS WILL MATTER if the guy who owns this franchise doesn’t have a clue, football wise. So I’ve said it before and I will say it again, the NUMBER ONE THING THE DOLPHINS NEED IS A NEW OWNER! – – Now I’m not saying Mr. Bruce Beal, who, like Ross, is also a New York based developer, will be the perfect answer to what ails this franchise. But HE IS THE DESIGNATED “OWNER IN WAITING” who already has been approved by the NFL. And while I’d prefer the new owner be a south Florida kind of guy, and a south Florida long term resident, right now I’d be willing to try ALMOST ANY ONE ELSE instead of accepting many more years of failure by Steve Ross!!
      ——————————
This franchise will NEVER find consistent success from a owner mired in football mediocrity and failure. I hope Ross finally realizes this and turns the franchise over to someone with a DIFFERENT, and SUCCESSFUL approach to owning an NFL FRANCHISE!

Hey Steve: give the fans and the franchise a chance to succeed. SELL THE TEAM!

  56. Mike E. says:

UK – If I told you that the Titans ran for 84 yards on 19 attempts in the first half, you don’t consider that running all over us? They weren’t really trying to pass, Tannehill was 7 for 11 for 58 yards. in the first half. If we doubled that output for the 2nd half, they would end up with 170 yards rushing. Good defense you say? We held a few drives, but you can’t tell me that our defense imposed their will on the Titans offense. They just didn’t. We couldn’t muster a pass rush and we got blown off the ball too often. Yes, we stopped a few drives, but overall we weren’t the dominant team. They shut down our offense and took everything away. They weren’t afraid of our running game because that’s not our strength, they pressured Tua and made sure he had no outlets, and Tua had a shitty day too which helped their cause. When you look at our team it’s our defense that is our best unit. If that’s the best they can do then we’re an 8-8 team for a reason.

    • Mike E. says:

For the record, the Titans finished with 198 yards rushing. You can say that our offensive failures were the reason, which is the same as saying the Titans defense shut us down. I was hoping to be the team that shut the other team down. Didn’t happen, their defense outshone ours. They were the team getting pressure all the time, our pass rush, when we needed it was stymied. Besides that, players were making bad decisions all day, If we got pressure, Tannehill rolled out and when he did, at least 3 times I remember clearly one of our defenders was on a receiver and then released to rush Tannehill who then immediately threw to that receiver who was vacated by the player who was now rushing, It reminded me of the Patriots game one last season, with Cam in the college style RPO running with the ball and we guessed wrong and went for Cam and the back had it or vice-versa.

      • ukfinfan says:

I absolutely don’t think our Defense played lights out Mike – no way at all. And the Baldy breakdowns I posted yesterday showed the Titans O Line blasting our D line off the LOS. Their run game was highly effective and the used play action perfectly to have a very balanced, effective attack.

I’m not going to play the what if game, but their second score was a 3 point gift (fumble) and we put them a first down away from scoring range for their first score too (STs). I’d say that for 3 Qs our D did enough, but no way did they stop Tenn.

I didn’t say “good defense”, I said “On balance, I think our D acquitted itself reasonably well to only concede 17 points and 185 yards in 3Qs against what is now the #1 seed in the AFC”. I stick by that, and still think we have to be able to match that rate if we ever have a chance to win a Superbowl. I don’t think that is unreasonable either.

We were certainly not the dominant team. We got nowhere near Tanny. Don’t think we even got a sack until Q3 or Q4. We were a long way from good. No batted balls, no picks, few sacks, no 3rd down stops as the game progressed (after 18 on the bounce) no TFLs that I can remember (except maybe from Roberts?)

It was not a good defensive performance. But it should have been good enough to keep us in the game.

Tenn put up a good defensive performance. They took Waddle out of the game barring one long completion, they blanket covered our receivers, put us in 3rd and long for large parts of the game, took our running game away by virtue of strangling our passing game. It was a text book example of how to neutralise an offence which BB would have been product of (aided and abetted by our poor play and play-calling).

We were out muscled, out coached, out played, out smarted and out scored. I will maintain until my dying breath, however, that the Offense lost us that game. How many wins has a team ever registered when scoring only three and losing a fumble in chip-shot FG range? We are more or less on the same page with everything we’ve said really – just looking at things and commenting from a different angle. Vive la difference as the French would say (cheese-eating surrender monkeys!) Apologies to Toba in advance if he has any French blood in his ancestry 😂

      • Ken says:

The defense looked great for 2 possessions. After that it stunk. It was manhandled by a more physical OL

  57. Mike E. says:

So to reiterate my feeling on this game, our defense didn’t lose the game for us, our offense did that. But, our defense didn’t win the game either. As I said in my article, I thought our defense was going to be the difference, it didn’t happen that way.

  58. Mike E. says:

Coach says the expect everyone at practice today, and could be some guys coming off the covid list as well.

Malcolm Brown will remain on IR, so his 2021 season is finished.

Flores was asked to asses Emmanuel Ogbah’s season and what he brings: His leadership, the way he supports his teammates, the way he works and then the way he performs on the field as well, obviously. Coach mentioned batted passes, pass rush and run game.

Coach says the Patriots have improved in all areas since Week 1. Says there are standard procedures you can always expect with a Patriots team: tough, physical, disciplined.

X has played very well this season, Flores says. Says he allows the Dolphins to do a lot of different things defensively…mentioned his ability to go lock up a specific receiver.

Coach says Robert Hunt has found a home at RG, that the team didn’t consider moving him this season.

  61. bailbondmike says:

I got hit by the Flu bug in Nov then got into my lungs. I was miserable coughing up crap 24/7 to the point my ribs were sore. Home tested negative twice for COVID and even went to drive through to make sure and was negative. Made appointment with doc and they didn’t want me to come in. It had to be a phone appointment. Told him about my 3 negative tests and he said I will be just fine and nothing to worry about. Gave me an Rx for Musinex and to call back if it doesn’t get better. No one listened to my lungs to see how bad it was. I swear I was on the verge of developing a pneumonia. Took me 3.5 weeks to get better. I never called back. I just went to CVS and got more Musinex. I was never told to stop working or wear a mask though I did wear a mask at work to protect coworkers and customers from getting my bug.

My neighbor got the Omicron the same time I was sick. He got sent home from work until he tested negative (over a week). He drives a trash truck. He is by himself when he works since they have those new trucks that lift and dump the trash cans. He drives to work, picks up his truck, runs his route, goes to dump, parks truck and goes home. He is really never around anyone but was not allowed to work. The whole time he was off, he felt ok and spent the time off landscaping his front yard while I was laid up feeling like hell.

If he had the flu bug and tested negative for COVID, he would not have missed a day of work.

This fearmongering over Omicron is out of hand. I said before, having a this mild strain of COVID running ramped is a blessing in disguise. Best thing to do with Omicron is everyone conduct business as usual. Let the masses get herd immunity. Let the unvaxed become naturally vaxed.

Yeah, some get Omicron more severely and end up in the hospital but so do severe cases of influenza. I had a friend spend a week in the hospital with pneumonia secondary to influenza and was COVID negative but was probably counted as a COVID patient.

The Omicron fearmongering needs to stop.

  62. bookman11 says:

  63. bailbondmike says:

I like the idea of signing Penny to add to the RB room. For what it’s worth, Melvin Gordon is also a free agent. Like Penny, he has had his issues with injuries but played the last 3 seasons basically injury free since coming back early 2019. He is not a small back at 6’1 215 pounds.

His 2 seasons in Denver he rushed for 1794 yards at 4.4 per carry with 16 TD’s. He still has the speed, longest run in 2020 was 65 yards and longest run in 2021 was 70 yards. He also caught 59 of his 70 targets with 3 TD’s in those 2 years.

In 2020, he was splitting time with Royce Freeman and 2021 splitting time with Javonte Williams.

Talk about splitting time with Javonte. They both have 191 rushing attempts going into their final game. Gordon with 808 yards at 4.2 and 7 TD’s and Williams with 857 at 4.5 and 4 TD’s.

Penny is younger and less mileage but I think Gordon has at least 2 more good years in him.

Gordon may want to return to Denver as he stated he loves how their roster is built and thinks they have a chance to be a contender.

Even if we offered more money, I think he would take a look at our OL and say “No Thanks”.

He wants to win instead of getting paid.

    • bailbondmike says:

They had been up for years and then they’re left alone and fall off?

    Ken,

I hate to hear about the bans. While I rarely endorse permanent bans, I completely understand the need for them occasionally. While it is easy to scroll past remarks, it’s hard to find stimulating conversations at times. This is a very small place and that can limit conversations especially if certain people also cause issues. I have nothing personal against anyone here but sometimes the conversations were garbage without politics even being involved. There were days that if I saw too many posts from either of those two, I just moved on because I knew either it was Tua’s arm or something about Trump. Talk about intentional simplemindedness to the point of trolling.

    Glad you’re doing well Bookman.

    • Ken says:

Thank you New Age. It was not something we wanted to do but too many people were saying they were avoiding this place for that very reason and we can’t have that

  75. CavalierKong says:

Glad you’re feeling better, Bookman. Seems like a lot of people here have recently had it, glad that no one has had a serious bout with it.

  76. Tim Knight says:

The one thing I don’t get about when blogging here is why some people feel the need to go real low. Busting balls is one thing, but really hardcore personal attacks and then bringing family members into it is way over the line. What football discussion could possibly force anyone to do that? Even other topics should not incite that kind of stuff. People disagree about all sorts of things, it doesn’t have to get ugly.

Many of us have had some moments where it gets too heated and then we all feel like jerks and apologize. I know that’s how I felt when I engaged in it. We all gravitated to this blog from the prior blogs when it all started for one reason. Our passion for the Miami Dolphins. Many of the people here have met each other with some meeting more than others. Some of have become good friends. If you notice the ones who have met, rarely get into heated debates. That’s natural because friends don’t talk to each other like that. Or at least we’re not supposed to. Peace & Love folks!

    Get well, Stanger!!!!

    • Ken says:

Going real low is not unique to this blog. Also there are people who get off by stirring shit up. They love the attention

      • Tim Knight says:

You mean like FB and other social media? I see that from people who are family and supposedly friends. It’s weird. People do sometimes get pissed off and will tell someone to fuck off. But ugly insults and attacking family members is just wrong. I’ve left the blog when I’ve seen multiple posts like that. Yeah you can just scroll by but sometimes it just takes over and it’s not a good time.

      • Ken says:

Any social media platform or blog can have that happen too. I have known people who have ended friendships over stuff posted online. I have seen some pretty brutal stuff posted online. My sons share with me a lot of what their friends post on Instagram and TikTok and this place is very Zen compared to what goes on there

      • Tim Knight says:

Yeah it seems like everyone will get it at some point. Hopefully we’ll all become somewhat immune to it and new variants will continue to get weaker.

  82. Mike E. says:

I hope we punch the Patriots in the mouth. We won’t make the playoffs and it won’t take the sting out of how small we played against TEN, but it will feel good if we make Mac Jones look bad. 83. Tim Knight says:

It sucks we fell short of the playoffs but we can play a spoiler role against the Pats. That’s all we have left.

  84. Mike E. says:

Tim, I wish that were true, I think each mutation is going to be a new illness kind of like the new flu strains each year. We’ll be getting shots forever.

    • Ken says:

Getting shots is no big deal. I get a flu shot every year so I will get a Covid shot every year.

      • Mike E. says:

We’ll find out how big a deal it is. I hope it’s nothing to be concerned about but at this point we have no idea if there will be any long term issues.

      • Ken says:

There is no reason to suspect any long term affects. It’s a SAAR’s vaccine they have been around a while. There really no significant change in the methodology of how the vaccine was made nor is there any long term I’ll affects

      • steveccnv says:

Spoken like a true conformist 😜

    • Tim Knight says:

Yeah that sucks! One of my issues is if you get tested for something constantly you’re likely to test positive for something at some point. If you don’t feel well stay away from others. Kind of like what we always did. Don’t come too close to me, I’ve got some kind of bug or whatever.

  85. pheloniusphish says:

I don’t get the flu shot either. I have 3 COVID-19 shots but I’m getting tired of the process and it all seems pointless. Everyone gets it, everyone spreads it, and 3 people I know that have just had it and were not vaxxed had the same level of illness as my wife who was triple vaxxed.

I have never gotten the flu shot either, have not had the flu since I was a kid. Sometimes the shot given doesn’t affect the strain going around. I haven’t gotten the COVID shot either, will only do so if my company forces me to, and then I may still choose not to.

  86. Mike E. says:

Bookman – I agree, and I feel like the pharmaceutical companies are always going to be a mutation behind with COVID-19 too. They’ll keep promising statistical efficacy numbers that in reality won’t be anywhere near accurate because they’ll only be effective against the last mutation, not the current one

    • bookman11 says:

And with COVID, the vaccine doesn’t really provide immunity, so there is that also. Look, I am not against vaccines, I just am not crazy about getting one just because it’s available, and there are uncertainties around the so called “science”

      • New Age says:

Joe Rogan’s Malone interview was a good discussion about the reservations if you haven’t watched yet. It’s long but good.

      • bookman11 says:

        Thanks New Age

      • bookman11 says:

        That was good, thanks

      • Tim Knight says:

The problem with phrases like “follow the science” and “science based” that have become ad campaigns is that science is not always always correct. Science is an ever evolving study but it does have merit too because that is how we learn. Who to trust these days is a challenge because misinformation is rampant. I totally understand people being hesitant about all sorts of stuff. You would hope it wasn’t like that but it is.

      • bookman11 says:

Exactly, what information to trust is really challenging.

      • steveccnv says:

Using science in a campaign is a politicians dream, because they can lie their ass off and who is going to stop them?

We heard all bidens science bs, non of which is true, kind of like what causes global warming

    • Brian in NY says:

      Money money money

  87. Tim Knight says:

What do you peeps think about WR Garrett Wilson, OSU? I watched some highlights of him and he’s got a lot of skill with speed and strong hands.

  88. Mike E. says:

Tim – exactly. The science is moving faster than they can predict. Ultimately, it’s human implementation of the science that’s the weakness. They’re doing the best they can but science doesn’t care. This was created in a lab, and even the people who created it don’t have a clue how to stop it. They can’t anticipate the mutations so all they can do is react to what they currently have. In other words they’re chasing their tails

    • steveccnv says:

Do you really think they want to contain it?

Doesn’t seem like they’re even trying after biden said he’d contain it, while bashing Trump

Think about what it means for the midterms, if they don’t

  89. Tim Knight says:

A few friends and I discussed this not so long ago. This could fall under the conspiracy umbrella but how many powerful people in the world died from COVID? Not saying there were none but we couldn’t think of any. They seem to be immune.

    • Ken says:

Well Boris Johnson came pretty damn close he was fully intubated. Even Trump was pretty close with SATs running consistently around 80% but of course both of them had access to health care that just about no one else could get

I was sickest I’ve been since I can remember when I got Covid in August of 2020. Lost 15lbs, fever, and didn’t get smell back til around Thanksgiving. I know/knew 2 people now that passed from it. 1 was gone within a week and the other about 3 weeks. Then I know several that test positive and no symptoms.

My opinion of this thing is that it’s a crap shoot. Just never know how it will hit you. At least the first go around of it was. Because of the severity of the first go around they are gonna freak out with every new mutation. And yes, I’m sure it’s a great money making scheme at this point.

I have had all 3 shots. I did so to give myself the best chance in case I get it again. If you don’t have any, I don’t care, your choice. I don’t think it’s a big deal and we can still be friends. Lol

    Omar Kelly
    @OmarKelly
Dolphins averaged 3.9 yards per carry in 2020 on 428 attempts, which equates to 26.7 carries per game.

This season Miami is averaging 3.4 yards per attempt on 399 carries, which equates to 24.9 carries per game.

The NFL avg is 114.3 rushing yards per game & 4.3 per carry.

Their running game is even worse than I thought- they are nearly a full yard below the AVERAGE ypc

    • Tim Knight says:

Too many -2, 0 and 1-3 yard runs. It happens every week. We get excited about some good runs but it’s lacking on a consistent basis.

The OL has to get better regardless of skill positions.

  92. New Age says:

    An interesting non-Dolphins topic. https://blacksportsonline.com/2022/01/antonio-brown-releases-statement-saying-he-has-receipts-the-bucs-and-bruce-arians-lied-trying-to-make-him-play-with-broken-ankle/

I wouldn’t believe AB normally but if there are MRIs, etc? He was on the Bucs injury report for that same ankle. It seems crazy so perfect encapsulates AB. What is everyone’s thoughts on this?

    • Brian in NY says:

I read that earlier . I don’t know, maybe Arians is sick of his shit? I don’t think the fake vaccination card did him any favors.

    • CavalierKong says:

We know this kind of stuff probably goes on (pressure for players to play injured), and I can believe Brady is that kind of guy, so his coach probably is too. I bring Brady into it because you know he has as much influence on the mentality and culture of the team (anything to win), so I think it’s relevant in that regard.

On the other hand, it seems pretty crazy they’d have him playing on a broken ankle with ligament damage though where he could possibly injure himself worse right before the playoffs, and AB is a freaking loon, lol.

So, it’s a get some popcorn, then wait and see thing for me.

      • Tim Knight says:

He didn’t look like a dude with a broken ankle and ligament damage running off the field. He has mental issues.

    • The Flying Pig says:

Arians said in the immediate press conference that Brown wouldn’t be on the team

And then they didn’t waive him
And then their are reports that they are talking with the league about the situation

All those things indicate that there is some legitimacy in some way to him having some kind of injury and now the cardinals can’t just outright waive him without it violating a league policy

So this is a story that may go beyond the immediate AB is. A whack job reaction a lot of us Initally had

  93. ElephantRider says:

I am relishing the day we get to quit talking about having to improve the worst OL in the league.
