Wow! Raiders dodged a bullet on that fumble

  2. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

M – I feel differently about this. Think the Patriots cared after they beat the Bills when Mac Jones only had 3 pass attempts? Tua played fine, he did what he had to do.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

We were up by 3 scores in the 3rd qtr
His only job at that point is to convert a couple of 3rd downs
      And he did that

  4. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tim, you are not looking at the bigger picture.

    1. This is a very weak draft or I would agree with you. Many in the bottom half of the 1st round this coming draft would be second rounders in other drafts. If the 49er’s had lost our pick would have went up to #17 from #22 due to SOS. Five spots could be significant in this draft.

    2. I said earlier that of the 14 teams in the playoffs, only 4 teams have an SOS of .500 or higher. SF is one of them. That puts them near the bottom of the pecking order as the weaker SOS gets the higher pick. Even if SF loses in the WC round our pick could still drop to #24. Now, if SF wins and moves on to the divisional round then loses, the highest our pick could be is #26. If they lose and the other three .500+ teams advance, our pick could fall to #28.

The more division winners with better records that get knocked off by WC teams, the better for us as long as SF loses.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It’s just common sense to root for a better pick.

You have access to players closer to the top of the draft.
You have more firepower and have to give up less to trade up for a special player.
You can get more by trading down because the pick is worth more.

It’s dumb we’re even arguing over the fact some of us are rooting for a better pick, wtf?

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

SOS is only for tie breakers, not sure if that’s what you’re eluding to

  5. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

We would have been picking 15th without the Grier blunder

  6. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Tua is 14-7 in 2 years

  7. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

    WOW!!!!!!! RIP

  8. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Kong, I don’t have anything else to say. I don’t think our future is based on where we pick in the 1st round in 2022. If it does, we’re not close to being where we want to be.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Again, you want to make it something it’s not. Nobody is saying our future is based on it. It’s just common sense to root for a better pick. I’m not saying it’s the be all end all.

You have access to players closer to the top of the draft.
You have more firepower and have to give up less to trade up for a special player.
You can get more by trading down because the pick is worth more.

It’s dumb we’re even arguing over the fact some of us are rooting for a better pick, wtf? If you don’t care, that’s fine and your prerogative, but don’t call me out for it because you don’t see value in it because you’re wrong, there is value in it.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Talking about how it will fuck us for months is a little different than the draft order based on mathematics. A lot of people want to harp on us fucking up with the Eagles trade that landed us Waddle. I’ll take it. This kid is a pro and will only get better. They felt he was special. He is!

  9. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

What is it with hotel rooms in Florida where celebrities and athletes continue to die? Curious…

  10. Ken's avatar Ken says:

FWIW I will be happiest when we are picking 32nd

  11. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It was sort of a dumb cocky thing for Grier to swap picks with the 49ers

Those futures picks had equal value when they were on the table last draft
Nobody notices if you keep you own pick

But when you keep the 49ers picks and trade you pick, you set up that comparison

This kind of is the same mindset as tinkering with OL this off-season and parting was with Van Noy

    Too cute

  12. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Fwiw the police already announced no foul play or drugs found on Saget

  13. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

So why did we wait until the blast week of the season to bench Jessie Davis?

  14. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

You guys still talk like we don’t have two 1st round picks in 2023. We really wanted Waddle. We didn’t deplete any of our future drafts. Just moved some stuff around.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

All those things would have happened though if we would have traded the 49ers first instead of ours

We were the ones that chose to keep the 49ers pick thinking it would have more value. That was reported when the trade was made. Philadelphia would have take either.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Honestly Piggy, an additional reason I was rooting for the Niners to lose, other than the obvious wanting a better pick, was I wasted Grier to be proven right. The Niners pick would still have been lower than ours, but our records would have been the same.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

        wanting, not wasted, lol

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It’s really just rolling the dice
He rolled the dice and came up short
But we were pretty much neck and neck with 49ers all season

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Yeah, I don’t really care that he traded that pick instead of ours. It was a gamble, and I don’t see anything wrong with betting on yourself. It was an interesting point you made though, that the SAFE way would have been to trade the Niner pick because no one would have even talked about it.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

No one is talking like that

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You love introducing things that haven’t been mentioned except by you, lol.

  15. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Tim, all Cab is saying is that it is better to have a higher pick, and it was fun and interesting to keep an eye on it today. That is all, not deep evaluation or emotion, just something to cheer for…. Really think you are over analyzing it

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I like having things to root for. I’m rooting for the Chargers tonight because it gives me two games I can actively root for in the playoffs (against the pets and against the Bills), instead of only one if the Raiders win.

  16. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Tim,

Nobody has said it will fuck us, and we won’t be talking about it for months. We’re talking about it now because it’s happening now, lol.

I’m not sure why you keep bringing up the pick we traded to the Eagles. Maybe you thought I was one who harped on us giving up that pick for Waddle, but I wasn’t. I was ok with it, he’s a stud so for me it was worth it.

Also, I know you were more busting balls than anything when you started this conversation, bro, and my original response was originally just kinda giving it back, but it just kept going, lol.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It’s all good, bro, and everyone else. We’re in good shape to upgrade our team in 2022. That’s all I’m saying. We didn’t give up the farm for anything. If we do that for that dude most of us don’t want, you might see a very different Tim. LOL

  17. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

    Cav, not Cab

  18. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Steve, yes that is what I am banking on, SOS as tie breakers. That is why we need SF to lose and teams with a worse record and teams with a lower SOS to advance to the divisional round.

  19. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Weather advisory here, wind chills -25 to -30 tonight and tomorrow morning. Maybe it is OK to be quarantined. Lol

    • manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Going on two weeks of this shit

Cold Arctic air continues to impact Manitoba.

Northwesterly winds of 20 to 30 km/h combined with overnight lows near -30 deg C will bring wind chill values to -40 to -45 across parts of Manitoba.

These extreme wind chill values will moderate Monday morning.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

You pussies, you’ve got signs up all over town saying how tough you are with the weather…Natural Rules🤪

  20. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Because they found signs of foul play or drug use doesn’t mean there wasn’t any, just nothing found yet

  21. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tim, I said above that if this were not a such a weak draft, I would mostly agree with you. Some positions there is a big drop off after the top 2 or 3. WR there is a big drop off after the top 3-4. At #17, you might get one. At #22-24, maybe not.

  22. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

When this raiders/chargers game ends, there is gonna be 9 teams in the afc that have between 8-10 wins
And we are smack in the middle of them
The team that knocked us out last week is the 1 seed

I really think this team can be a good team
Maybe more than anything they can use some consistency in the off-season

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Last year our point differential was about tops in league, this year not so much

Think we can’t do anything, unless we can block for Tua

Funny how the 2 games last 2 years against the cheats at home we ran all over them

    • Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

As much as I want a new OC!
I also want to leave it alone, to see if it can mature????

  23. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

If you look at that stat and compare the first 8 games to the last 9 there is a huge difference

The tinkering in the off-season probably hurt us early

I think if there is one thing I don’t want to see this off-season is cutesy, it will give us cap room waivers

We have a lot of money to work with. Make it work without downgrading

  24. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    Current picks are 22, 49, 100, 117, 120 (unless Pitt makes playoffs), 158, 201, 221

If we can hit on our top 3 picks again and another one in the second 3 picks (4 of our first 6), I will be happy.

  25. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I also want to see some consistency this offseason. It’s time to build on things not keep resetting at key positions (talking coaching). Obviously we will have some turnover on the roster and need to upgrade some positions like on the oline and at WR. Keep the regime in place, and for heaven’s sake don’t trade for Watson.

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I was not on board with this at 1-7, but it is obvious that this team is close knit, and plays hard for their coach. I am in the mode now of wanting consistency also. Sign Ogbah, Gesicki, Hollins, Duke, upgrade the OL in FA, and go from there with the draft.

I am tired of the changes year after year, let’s try something different and let it ride into next year.

  26. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Also

The throwbacks looked so good today!

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Don’t they always? I don’t care if Ross sells the team, I just want him to switch back the uniforms. That would be the best thing he could do right now as owner. (Except for keeping his hands off the personnel moves Lol)

  27. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Why wasn’t it ruled uncatchable? I looked that rule up, so I know it’s still on the books, but for some reason it’s almost never called.

  28. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Bookman: we’ve been in this cold snap since just before XMas …warmed up overnight for first time Friday to 17 F and took a dive Saturday back into -20-30 .. between this and Covid crap I’m already done with winter .

  29. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Never seen that type of PI before, where PI is inside the hashmarks and the ball is about out of bounds

  30. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Piggy, we have two 4th round picks. Our pick at 117 and a pick from the Steelers currently at 120 depending what happens with the playoffs.

  31. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I can’t think of a single Dolphins fan I know that prefers the new uniforms. Is there anyone on this board that prefers them to the throwbacks? or is indifferent? (nothing wrong with it if ya do, lol)

  32. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t like the graphics of the old logo. What I really don’t like is the pastel colors we chose. The older uniforms look so much meaner. A little darker and more menacing. The darker orange, almost red stripes on the shoulders and the helmet are awesome. I wouldn’t mind a redo of the old jumping dolphin, with some crisper graphics.

    Old uni’s = TOUGH
    New uni’s = PRETTY

    LOL

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The first thing I notice every single time with the throwbacks, is the greener color and the darker orange. I love those older colors so much more.

  33. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Going into our game, the Pets had the #1 scoring defense in the league at 16.9 pts/g. Our offense scored 20. Add a run game to this offense and we looked pretty good against the best D in the league.

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Goodnight – Very satisfied after beating NE. I’d rather be resting guys this past week week and lose to NE but you can only take what you get.

  35. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Watching the highlights the 2 PIs against us were pathetic

Play before NE had illegal formation on our punt, we had a 1st down they marked short

Fake punt roughing was bs on NE

Judon was offsides twice they didn’t call

Tua looked awful, but somehow made enough plays to win

  36. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The 2022 NFL Draft will be the 87th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players. The draft is expected to be held in Paradise, Nevada, on April 28–30, 2022.

Expecting to see Cav and Doggy here end of April

  37. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You see things like this all the time. The league has changed so much.

  39. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Most retarded play since the trick Colts tried to run on Cheats with only C and QB near the ball

  40. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

All they get is an fg to mess up a tie

What a wild finish this week was. Goodnight folks!

  78. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

As bad as the offensive coaches have been this year, a lot of our lack of success has been the inexperience of Tua. In rewatching games this past year, I’ve noticed a lot of missed opportunities and poor decision making in key situations.
The bad playcalls by the OCs and the WTF moments are amplified when we aren’t successful. I see plenty of coaches around the league make really dumb calls in game. Sean Payton, Andy Reid, the list goes on and on. That being said, the coaches could definitely use some improvement as well, along with our position coaches on offense.
I wonder if well continue to run the RPO very much if we are able to upgrade the o-line. If that’s the case, and if he hasn’t been hired somewhere, I’d bring in Doug Pederson as an offensive consultant during the offseason.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think he makes quick decisions, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I do think it’s mostly because he feels that he’s not going to have time, but if we do upgrade the line and he’s still doing that, we have a problem. I would really hate if they go out and spend big $$$ or trade for a veteran QB.

      • sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Yeah, I don’t want a replacement at QB. I want them to develop him properly. He went 8-4 while not playing close to his full potential.

  79. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:
