Sorry Dolphins fans, this Free Agency thing has left me deflated and disappointed. To be fair, Free Agency isn’t over yet, but up to this point, I haven’t seen anything that to make me feel optimistic about our chances for the playoffs this season. It’s not about grabbing big names, if you know me, I’m not that provincial, but I’m very uninspired with what I’ve seen from Chris Grier and Co. as so far. We re-signed a bunch of players, and I’m thrilled we got a contract done with DE Emmanuel Ogbah. He was an absolute necessity, a huge part of our defense and having him along with Jaelan Phillips should be an even more dangerous combo this season as Phillips learns and grows. After Ogbah though, I feel like we almost got complacent. Plus, Ogbah was here already, we just managed to retain him. So where are the upgrades we desperately needed?
We got some feel good re-signs like Elandon Roberts, Sam Eguavoen, Brennan Scarlett and Duke Riley, but if I sure wouldn’t have minded instead of re-signing every single LB that was on our roster that maybe subtract 2 or 3 or 4 of those guys and get Bobby Wagner. Wagner would be an immediate upgrade over any and every LB we re-signed. I want to elevate, not levitate. It’s not like we had the best defensive unit in the NFL and just had to keep it intact. Far from it. We were a decent defense, better than average, although right in the middle of points allowed. At the moment, Bobby Wagner is still available. He’s such a quality individual, he would have to be one of the captains, a guy teammates would look up to. He would make our defense better, and while #55 Baker had a fine season again last year, he’d be ever better with Wagner, everyone would.
Time for the meat and potatoes. Ah yes, the O-line. So far we have Connor Williams, who is a a talented yet flawed player, not too unlike 4/5 of our O-line before he got here. He’s further along than our current crop perhaps with the exception of RG Robert Hunt. He did have a propensity for flags last season and that needs to be fixed. He’s a very good run blocker and fits what we want to do here. I still feel like Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg will be our LT and RT respectively. Unless of course we sign Terron Armstead, but I don’t see that happening. I still feel like we need an upgrade on the interior, specifically C. It’s possible that upgrade come via the draft in Tyler Linderbaum, but would be willing to trade up to get him?
We had a bunch of re-signs for position players too, Preston Williams returns for a show me season. Former Dolphins (and 49ers) RB Raheem Mostert also returns. We gave former Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds a nice 2 year contract. He does however scream RUNNING BACK BY COMMITTEE, and that’s fine, but we seem to pine for an upgrade every single season but it never seems to come. Besides that, I feel the need to point out that we have been just atrocious in our record of free agent running back signings, beyond awful really. Jordan Howard, Matt Breida (He was a trade), and Malcolm Brown. The production of those 3 probably doesn’t add up to what Myles Gaskin gave us last season. Now to the WR’s. Cedrick Wilson. He could be a decent player but upgrade? I mean big upgrade? Wilson played primarily on the slot but can play outside as well. He had two 100 yard games, but take into account that Dak Prescott threw for 4449 yards last season, not impressive. He was #4 in targets last year, behind Cee Dee Lamb, Amari Cooper, and Michael Gallup. He finished the season with 602 yards and 6 TD’s on 45 receptions. Not bad, but like most of the signings except Ogbah and Gesicki, is not bad what our anemic offense needs? It’s true that this draft is chock full of WR talent, and one of them will undoubtedly be available at #29, but then you kiss Tyler Linderbaum goodbye. My point is, unless we fix either the WR situation in FA, or the O-line in FA, it’s going to be difficult to expect both of those to be addressed properly via the draft with our current draft position. Do we trade away future assets, or players in order to do that? It’s possible.
We definitely upgraded our backup QB situation signing QB Teddy Bridgewater. I always liked Bridgewater, he’s a gamer. He’ll be a good guy for Tua to lean on. I like the FB signing of Alec Ingold although he is coming off an ACL tear November 16, 2021. He’s a team captain and a guy that will be a spark in the offense. We also signed former 49ers WR Trent Sherfield who is mostly a ST’s player. Remember, we lost WR Mack Hollins to the Raiders. If you’re looking for positives, OG Connor Williams is a very strong run blocker. FB Alec Ingold is also a strong run blocker but again, we need to add more talent on the O-line and in the RB corps. Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed and Gerrid Doaks. Which one of these guys does the opposing defense worry about running the ball? I’d like one guy that the defense thinks about before the game “Man, I really hate tackling that due, he’s physical”. That guy isn’t on our roster.
If you subtract the re-signs, you have to be underwhelmed by what we’ve done. I like the Connor Williams signings and while I have a La’el Collins chiffon robe that has never been worn, I don’t think I’ll get that opportunity. He’s probably going to the Bengals to win. Speaking of winning, the Bills signed Von Miller to a monster 6 year contract. Think we need to fix the O-line? Let’s just play in fantasy land for a moment and say La’el Collins doesn’t feel the love ($$$) from the Bengals and we somehow snatch him up. My guess would be the O-line would be as such:
LT Austin Jackson
LG Connor Williams
C Michael Deiter (Or Tyler Linderbaum?)
RG Michael Hunt
RT La’el Collins
That wouldn’t be bad, especially if you sub Linderbaum for Deiter. Back to the defense for a second. Now that we have every single LB we had last season after re-signing THREE, how about getting Bobby Wagner?
LDE Emmanuel Ogbah
NT Raekwon Davis
RE Christian Wilkins
WLB Andrew Van Ginkel
LILB Bobby Wagner
RILB Jerome Baker
SOLB Jaelan Phillips
CB Xavien Howard
CB Byron Jones
S Jevon Holland
S Brandon Jones
Doesn’t that look, and feel good? Seriously, give Bobby a nice front loaded contract and if his play declines after a couple of years, it won’t hurt at that time. It’s NOT about making a splash, that would legitimately be a big upgrade on defense. He’s such a smart, instinctive player and a high character, high motor individual. I would really like that.
Now for the bad? news . . . The WR corps.
DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson, Lynn Bowden Jr., Allen Hurns, Preston Williams, Trent Sherfield, River Cracraft, Cody Core and DeVonte Dedmon. Isaiah Ford is a Free Agent. Can you ever really expect DeVante Parker to play healthy for a full season? NO! I love to watch Parker when he’s healthy, he’s a game changer. Maybe that happens 5 or 6 games a season. Will Allen Hurns survive cutdowns? Probably not. Preston Williams is a DeVante Parker in clone healthwise, he can’t stay healthy either. In other words, it’s Waddle, Wilson and who????? I feel like our 1st and 2nd RD picks have to be used on C/WR/RB. But that’s THREE! We only have 2. Say we traded one of our future 1st RD picks from 2023, where we have two. We pick up Tyler Linderbaum at 29, then trade up to the next spot and take Jameson Williams and then with our next pick we take either Kenneth Walker or Breece Hall. Now you’re talking, right?! Don’t bet on it. There’s still a chance to improve this team, Free Agent C’s J.C. Tretter and Bradley Bozeman are available. Bobby Wagner is also out there. Make us smile, make us better!
#stangerstrong
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

SHOW ME
BAM the show me post hits the turn!
I wouldn’t have made these particular moves, but it’s better than nothing at this point. Offensive coaching should be better, o-line should be better, receivers are better.
McDaniel is being set up for success and now he has to make it happen.
I think McDaniel took the job knowing we were going to go all out to improve the team. He came here to win, not build forever.
Okay Scarecrow.
I don’t get it.

…Seems some have forgotten about RT Austin Deculus, LSU. He got injured last year but was a key part of that LSU OL protecting Burrow and opening up the running for Edwards-Hellaire…
—————-
Just reviewed some of Deculus’ tape. Not liking what I’m seeing, to be honest. Too often (for my liking, anyway), LSU has a RB or TE in there to help Deculus out.
He’s got the size/stature to be an NFL RT, yet I see him getting burned by faster DEs and overpowered by stronger DEs. He seems to get it from the head up, but he’s just not able to consistently get the job done… even as a non-blindside Tackle.
Perhaps there’s something there to work with, but I can’t see him being Tua’s blindside protector. JMO as ALWAYS.
I’m shocked we got Tyreek. Crazy stuff. We’re all in
We’re doing what we both wanted us to do, try to win now and not continue the slow roll year after year.
No question about it
—————
Faster than the Marks Brothers, and faster than DeShaun Jackson and Jeremy Maclin for the Eagles.
Tua will finally have that separation other QBs see.
INDEED!
M – just slightly 😵💫 obsessed with Tua’s blind side. Did you sleep last night? 🤪
LOL! Perhaps I’m just obsessed with Sandra Bullock… she’s HOT!!! 😀
She is
Even with our good Defense the Bills have averaged 37 points per game against us the past 2 years. Have these additions on offense offset that? Will we be able to win a shootout with them now? That will be a pressing question this season.
As we’ve seen, sometimes you have to win shootouts with top scoring teams. Part of the problem with the Bills is we couldn’t move the ball against them and as the game wore on they continued to add to the lead while we did nothing.
We couldn’t move the ball for shit against them, so Tua tried to do too much and take chances, chances he won’t have to take this year
We were so bad on O, even when our D stopped them, they got the ball right back
Methodical short passing and running attack will negate the advantage their O had over our D
Rock
There’s only one way to get better
You try to get better!
No one bought the champagne for the super bowl party yet
But get excited. The Dolphins are making big moves. Time will tell whether it pays off or not. But making big moves does not mean that the Dolphins will fail BX the Dolphins have failed before.
All you can do is try to be a better team and make the best moves you can make
And the important thing here is, these moves exceed most of our expectations
I have to take the champagne back?
Through 15 weeks, Tagovailoa actually leads the league in completion percentage, as he’s completed 69.9% of his passes.Dec 21, 2021
Tua Tagovailoa of Dolphins is so accurate he may break records:
https://www.palmbeachpost.com › sports › nfl › 2021/12/01
Dec 1, 2021 — Tagovailoa is second in the NFL in completion percentage at the moment (71 percent), trailing only Arizona’s Kyler Murray (73 percent). That …
Rock, I think we’ll have a more balanced offense that can run and pass. We were so one dimensional last season, we couldn’t sustain drives. I think that has changed but we have to see it happen before I go too far in
Agreed. We also lacked explosive plays. That should change too. We had to rely on our defense and STs way too often to make big plays.
The way I look at the trade for Hill, if someone said you are guaranteed to get a Hill type player in the draft for #29 and #50 would you do it? I would say of course. The 4th this year and a 4th and 6th next year are not picks that guarantee you special players.
Anyone would go for that, but then have to throw in paying him $30 mil per year rather than the others on rookie contracts.
I understand but I don’t really care about the money. Look at what guys are getting paid these days.
We have lost the last SEVEN in a row to Buff going back to 2018
42-17
31-21
37-20
31-28
56-26 (ouch)
35-0
26-11
I want us to kick their ass every year. Hopefully we can get off the field on D and sustain drives on O going forward.
Be careful Rock…. Cav might throw out your lunch.
The offense not keeping up put the defense in bad spots with field position and on the scoreboard. The Bills have not feared our offense at all over the years.
That was one my problems with Flores. Dude didn’t just lose to Buff, he got his ass handed to him in 5 of 6. Having that ‘awesome’ D didn’t change things up so I’m glad we’ve upgraded the O.
“Tua” has never lost to New England. But he has never won against Buffalo. I hope we can maintain the one while flipping the other. My Buff buddy used to be way more modest, now he is intolerable.
Mike E,
Truthfully speaking, I AM obsessed with protecting Tua, especially on his blindside. We all saw what happened last year in week 2 against the Bills.
We’ve also ALL witnessed how a poor O-Line can derail Super Bowl aspirations as fellow Dolfans. If our O-Line turns out to be the Maginot Line, opposing Defenses (like Hitler) will just run around it and kill our QB… QB being the most important position in all of sports.
LT is one of the highest-paid positions in the NFL, and for good reason: WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE! In our case with a southpaw QB in Tua, it’s the RT position to protect the franchise QB.
Believe it or not, our Offense as currently constituted is set up VERY WELL for a right-handed QB. IMO, we’re one piece away (perhaps the most IMPORTANT piece in terms of protecting our southpaw QB) from becoming a juggernaut: the RT position.
My HOPE is that our current band of O-Line gurus on staff — led by Coach McDaniel — can turn either (perhaps both!) of Liam Eichenberg and Austin Jackson into STUDS.
IMO, as it stands TODAY, we’re looking at Liam and Austin battling it out for the starting RT position.
I hope you are right in your reply above steveccnv
So Cincy last year had the donkey and everything needed to get to the SB,
but they lost because of their OL.
If that happens to us in 2022, I’ll F’n take it.
Then we use the draft to go get a RT, if that’s the missing link.
It is possible that this current HC and staff could turn Liam or Austin into a stud RT. Time shall reveal.
We have a 1st round pick competing with a 2nd round pick at RT. Lets see what happens. You do seem a bit ahead of the team in thinking Super Bowl though. AFC is way tough.
Cincy did it after 2 bad records in a row and a wonky ex dolphin HC.
And were like 10-7. But yeah teams surprise sometimes.
One plus on our FA moves is that we’ve stayed with relatively young guys. Oldest is Armstead at 30, but guys on the OL have a longer shelf-life. A lot of them are down right young. Connor Williams is 24.
We show we can be a contender this season and my guess is next year we start bringing in those plug and play former Pro Bowl guys in their later 30s on one or two year contracts like the Pats used to do.
I feel like punching Craig Carton through the radio for continuing to say Tua is a lousy QB and acts like Zach Wilson is the next Marino.
Well if ya feel like it, what’s keeping you from punching your radio?!! LOL 😉
lol MF
I’m streaming it on my computer so that would be bad. LOL
K
I’m no capologist, but it seems that Tyreek’s deal will run out about the time we need to re up Waddle, so we can cut the old guy, draft or sign a new burner, and keep on going.
Pardon me above
Cincy did it after 2 bad records in a row and a wonky ex dolphin QB coach for an HC.
On what factual basis is anyone saying Tua is not a good QB?
I can find no support for that position.
Because they don’t take everything into account. They see a bad offense and blame him for all of it. It’s an ignorant point of view. Could you imagine our offense if we didn’t have Waddle last year.
Here are the 2020 QBs by QB rankings. See how far down you have to go to get to Tua’s 90.1 Top QBs are 100+.

sorry — 2021 ratings.
I am such a Debbie Downer. Does Parker really belong on this list?
He’s a playmaker when healthy, but have a feeling he’ll be on the move elsewhere.
Parker’s the guy you zeroed in on from that list?
he has frustrated me the most from that list. Gaskin doesn’t belong on that list IMO either but he was a 7th round pick I never expected to be a playmaker.
Tim,
The year was 1995. I’m cruising through the city with my car stereo *THUMPING* through the streets (I was a kid). I’ve got two of my best friends with me and we’re looking for girls to meet.
It got late, and it was time to leave… my CD player had been intermittently skipping and I was getting pissed off. So I put in a new disk and it wouldn’t play as we entered the on-ramp to I-80. I had a total meltdown and chucked the disc out the window, and my friends chuckled… but I was just getting started.
I punched the crap out of my CD player, and they all shut up. Then, I ripped the outer casing to the CD player off, tore the CD player out of my dash (wires and all), and slammed it on the asphalt while going about 25 MPH on I-80. I invented new swear words throughout and then went back up to speed, and nobody spoke for about a minute.
Finally, my guy in the back seat starts LAUGHING his ass off! “Dude, WTF! That was awesome!”.
We all laughed until we cried! LOL 😆
Yeah, it was akin to Clark W. Griswold just totally losing his shit! LOL
PUNCH YOUR RADIO!!! LOL
LMAO!!! That reminds me of the scene in the movie Office Space when they beat the shit out of the printer that always fucked up.
Great scene! 😀
Tim got his wish.
Hopefully we all did. 🙂
Well I’m fine with what we did, but didn’t want to do what Tim wanted, to trade next year’s first rd pick
You only trade a future 1st for a QB
Trading this year’s 1st is oh well since it’s 29
Bet you we trade one of the 2023 futures in the draft. Probably to pick up a C.
It was just an idea to get better quicker rather than the slow roll of always waiting to get there in the future. I had no idea we were going to pull off this trade for Hill.
lol, how is it Tim’s wish? like a ton a people made that point.
But they didn’t say it often enough to get in there with Tim. 🙂
I only read Tim’s posts….
Lol
And Cedrick had great YAC numbers as well.
—————————
“Waddle and Hill ranked ninth and 10th, respectively, in yards after the catch last season.
That’s a critical stat to remember, considering Tagovailoa’s average depth of target last season (6.92 yards) ranked fourth lowest in the league. He attempted the second-fewest passes of at least 25 yards last season among qualified quarterbacks”
Just understand that Tua’s 6.92 average depth of target last year had to do with getting the pass off before his O-Line got him killed. That INCLUDES from the RT position.
Completely understand Tua couldn’t throw long without time. Same time he seems happy with throws less than ten years, and they are what he excels at. Having YAC guys should help, which was the point.
What people also forget is most of our receivers didn’t get much YAC. That plays into YPA too. Most offenses are not throwing bombs all day. It’s mostly explosive plays after the catch.
Parker is dead man walking
Perhaps. But then again, his cap hit is relatively small, comparatively speaking.
That means 1 of 2 things:
1) We can keep him for pennies on the relative dollar
2) We could get a great return on him via trade
have I said FU Colin Cowturd today?
FU Colin Cowturd
OH, and ASSHOLE, can the rumors of Watson being traded to the Dolphins stop now? No? Dick.
Cant watch it at work. I assume he shat on us? Florio should be next in line, since he’s so clued into what we are doing with Watson and all…
He is choking on the fact that the Dolphins might be relevant
Hill and Waddle are same height, same weight. Both run great routes and get separation (speed helps with that as well)…
both were top 10 in receptions for first downs. Looking at Hill’s numbers, even YAC is about same as Waddle (despite Hill getting more targets/recs)…
All these memes I’m seeing about Hill ‘stretching’ the defense … what Fins actually did is put TWO first down machines, one on each side of the field, so if Tua only has 1.7 to throw again, whichever direction his eyes are at that time, there will be an open receiver. 🙂
Right and you can’t double them both and then we have two big targets in Gesicki and Wilson. They will all lineup all over the place. Then we have the new speed and quickness at RB. Mismatches galore. 🙂

—————
Not sure I’d say that Tua “seems happy with throws less than ten yards (sic)”, being some/many feel he’s a mere dink-n-dunker.
I understand your point, but that’s to label Tua as a mere dink-n-dunker… when we KNOW he’s got an arm on him. That’s my mere point, Brother. Yes, he can throw it 70 yards, all air… and with accuracy.
I prefer to look at it as we’ve got weapons who can gain separation, so as to actually show off Tua’s deep game!
Nevertheless, your point is a good one: we could run a bubble-screen and take it to the house on almost any given play in 2022! HELL YEAH!
It’s as if nobody ever watched Tua at Alabama. He can chuck it plenty down the field. He’s shown it in the NFL too we just couldn’t and wouldn’t do it.
EXACTLY, Tim! We just need to adequately protect the Tua.
When Tom Brady had a tea party in the pocket for years where he could reset his feet and survey the entire field for 5-6 seconds everyone marvels about it. When he gets pressured constantly he doesn’t look the same. Hmmm…
Gosh stranger
If you hit the title of the column for completion percentage, which will sort the spreadsheet for the most important stat for a QB, Tua is 7th in the league.
I’ll put yards per attempt, TD percentage and TD/INT ratio right up with that. Why they came up with the QB rating, which is a weighted measure of 5 key stats.
I like this headline, lol
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/dolphins-steal-tyreek-hill-from-jets-heres-the-failed-blockbuster-trade-offer-new-york-made-for-all-pro-wr/
When it was reported earlier that Hill was deciding which team to go to, I assumed he has a no-trade clause or something that gave him the power.
The way this article is written it sounds like the Chiefs were happy with either offer and basically let Hill choose where he wanted to go. That is pretty awesome of them player relation-wise.
M13, thanks for the info on RT Austin Deculus. Did not know and haven’t watched anything on him. That was a stud OL they had during that run and just remember he was part of it. Their studs were mainly on the interior though.
That’s awesome
truth
https://www.espn.com/blog/miami-dolphins/post/_/id/33558/with-tyreek-hill-trade-dolphins-become-instant-playoff-contender
“Per ESPN Stats & Information research, Hill has 26 receiving touchdowns on passes thrown 20-plus yards downfield over the past five seasons — four more than the Dolphins have in that same span. Since Miami drafted Tagovailoa in 2020, its wide receivers have averaged 2.64 yards of separation on targets, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, the fourth-lowest mark in the league.”
Oh, hell yeah! Wife has a Waddle throwback jersey. You know I’m going to be looking for that matching Hill throwback!
We’ll have the best tandem jerseys in the entire Kong household…
Get the opposite color of hers.
This is amazing how this went down.
That’s a good idea. I’m kinda at the mercy of which ones they have. I wanted a throwback Holland jersey but couldn’t get one 😦
Can this Tyreek Hill kid block?
Y’all got Correa that’s as big for the Twins as Hill to the Dolphins
Probably not but I heard Armstead and Collins can. 😉
Hill is mostly a slot receiver. Gesicki plays most of his snaps from the slot. I’ll be curious to see how they line up those two guys. Will we see Gesicki play more from a classic TE spot, or do they split him out wide even more?
Hill lines up all over the place. It should be fun watching teams trying to figure out where both he and Waddle will be.
son,
word is he’ll be gone in a year or two. Rental player from everything I hear up here. Nice player though. Cocky little shit. The Twins could use a little bit of that.
He wants to win, the more you win the longer he stays.
Randy, I think everyone will be everywhere. Parker and Williams are really our only outside receivers everyone else plays inside including the other new receiver Wilson.
Plus we have that true fullback now. Gonna be crazy.
The 49ers use a lot of motion and I expect McDaniel will continue that here. The running game, play-action, motion, boots and constant movement with the blocking schemes. Defenses are going to be doing a lot of thinking and that usually results in mistakes and big plays.
Just reading thru posts about the blindside stuff. First, that’s way overblown. Second, when you have an OL with one side solidified or what you believe is one side that can handle pressure on their own, you can adjust your protection and alignments to compensate for your “bad” side. It’s not ideal, but it makes it a little easier to compensate.
good explanation,
or at least, it supports the opinion I already held … wink
So…. are we excited? I think we all have been traumatized too much to get hopes very high, but my boys and I are psyched for the next couple seasons. Let’s go!
Great to see you
My family is fired up too
Now the jets get to try and cover him twice a year
Miami building something special possibly
Then they go and trade for Tyreek Hill 🐆
🐬🐧🐆🐽

Naples,
Sorry if I just repeated what you said! I’m trying to read posts, but I skip a lot too. You lucky guys who can blog all day long have a leg up on me! I’m always playing catch up! Lol
No dude I love reading your stuff. You have expertise to bring to bear that I value reading.
Ingold is a Moose Johnson clone as far as the type of player he’ll be on the field a lot and he’ll be doing a lot of dirty work, he should be fun to watch.
We don’t even have a blind side
One side 🐧
The other 🐆
Any questions?
We also have this
🐖💨
That’s Kindley and Wilkins job
I started getting on Grier’s ass last week about seemingly being unwilling to sign big name talent.
So this week he says
Hold My Beer
Way to go Grier and if things result in what the trend/vibe might lead us to believe then Grier should absolutely be considered the Executive of the year.
Piggy Prediction
We draft one of these 2 guys with our 3rd round pick
Is it weird to any of you that once I changed my avatar to a samurai pig, we traded for a WR
🤔
I didn’t catch it but thank you
I’m stoked man the koolaid I’m fixin to make is gonna make Rock’s stuff seem non alcoholic
That shit could strip paint off primed metal
This offense might be the fastest ever
Hill is going to sell an ass load of Fins jerseys
This just in…the NY Jest have been mathematically eliminated today.
Lol
But they were eliminated before the week started if we are being truthful
LOL good one
Huge cap hit final year but I don’t think any of that is Guaranteed
His cap hit is only 6m in 2022
Drg!!! Good to see you pal
How can you not be excited???
Season start yet?
You have to wait a little longer
There’s this draft thing and some other stuff first
Just get me to the draft…oh wait a minute
I might actually skip the draft this year, at least day one.
NFL Radio was killing KC on my ride home
Why did KC want to make this trade so badly?
That is what they couldn’t figure out
I’d like to know as well. I guess they just knew they weren’t going to be able to pay him what he wanted so they got a draft haul instead
The only speculation they came up with Andy Reid figured he needs to add more talent and would be cap restricted otherwise
The Mahomes big money starts to kick in this year ($35,793,381) and it gets bigger from there.
It was KC that made him available and for the jests and Dolphins to bind for him
KC made a decision. It’s not like they heard something they couldn’t refuse
Maybe it’s just salary cap, but it came out of nowhere
Quite frankly I don’t think we mortgaged the farm for him. Don’t get me wrong we gave up a healthy number of picks but we have surplus picks especially looking forward to next year
I don’t think so either
The picks ar basically a first and 2nd this year
If you trade you for a WR you might use that comp for an unknown
Curious if any of you got any insight from any of our bear reporters for the last decade or so?
I think Schefter lead this one the whole way
It’s always either him or rapoport
How can those 2 guys have a monopoly in nfl rumors
Maybe some of the local guys should focus on building relationships with the team they cover instead of being such wetnaps all the time…just a though
It’s funny last night I remember seeing on Twitter that Miami was planning something big. It was not one of the usual suspects and I don’t remember who it was and I paid it no mind at the time
Hill wanted to be paid. KC has some big contracts coming up and had to make some tough decisions. Reid seems to have a talent for finding and using top end skill players.
They got good comp for Hill. Seems to me like both sides probably did ok in this thing.
After seeing the contract details, I feel even better about it. We paythrough the nose for two years, then can restructure, cut bait, etc.
Whether we get that far or not we’re going for a Championship this year. We can only keep the defense as is for so long and I think the entire org said fuck it, let’s go for it now. You can’t rebuild for 5-6 years because of FA. This is the 4th season since the “blow it up” started in 2019. Tua is entering his 3rd season. Now is the time!
I heard this guy has had some success against the Bills
Speed kills!
Who’s with me?!?!?!
Raise your trotters!
Just have the Dolphin bend the right way again and put his helmet back on and I’ll be happy
Definitely, we don’t need snowflake down the line diagnosed with CTE
LMAO!!!!!
That should be the header for our next article to follow the deflated football

It’s always either him or rapoport
How can those 2 guys have a monopoly in nfl rumors
Maybe some of the local guys should focus on building relationships with the team they cover instead of being such wetnaps all the time…just a though
Because part of the deal is he reports what the teams want him to report. Remember when all that stuff about Dan Snyder came out, it was reported that he controlled what Schefter had been putting out about the Redskins (and other teams I assume) , for years.
He’s a puppet
Piggy, I would rather get an ILB in the 3rd over another RB.
I think spiller is long gone by then, Cook may be there. I don’t think we are targeting a RB
I think we need to try and upgrade our ILB position and look for a center to draft in 3rd and 4th respectively. Will still be plenty of RB’s left after the 4th round.
I see late round and UDFAs at RB now.
Tim, I agree. Plus, we got so many weapons now.
Good to see a lot of familiar names popping up on the blog again. Go Phins!!!
We signed the cheetah right after I showed up…………..You’re welcome lol
Thank you, thank you very much. 🙂
How many more miracles does it take to be considered a Saint?
Capitan I think you have to have a throw down with Piggy. He is taking responsibility as a result of changing his avi to a samurai
Pigs are always throwing shit at the walls, eventually something will stick. lol
A broken clock is right twice a day
Still need one more OL
I honestly think we’re fine. It would be nice to find maybe an upgrade at center. I feel Liam is go to kill it at RT
Not a fan of Eichenberg. I have more confidence in Jackson as he is much more athletic and younger
I’m not sure, however I don’t think Liam let any sacks in college maybe just senior year. Not a 100% on that
That was then. Last year he was a turnstile
Agreed on turnstiles. He played an unnatural position for him and he still found himself on the starting line up, not that is saying much. I hope we have some good competition there. If you think Austin SACKSon is the answer and I think Liam. I guess you were right we need one more OL
With what we’ve done on offense in FA, and 3, 4, 5, 7 and 7 in the draft, I could see defensive depth with a few picks. I wouldn’t be surprised if we used next year’s draft to get another pick as well. 😉
Could be if someone they want is there.
Yeah we made a similar deal back in 1998 to get Surtain in the 2nd round. If we’re going for it, go all in. A team like Atlanta that is rebuilding could be in on a deal like that.
Just get me one of these guys in the 3rd and 4th.
#102 ILB Leo Chenal, Channing Tindall, Demone Clark, Brandon Smith, Cad Muma
#125 OC Luke Fortner, Cam Jurgens, Alec Lindstrom, Donovan West, Zack Tom
Fuck it. Looks great to me after this offseason!
I have a feeling that we are going to utilize Tyreek HIll’s speed in order to run faster than the other guys on defense. That way, he’ll be open to throw to, and we’ll be able to move down the field more efficiently than we did last year. You heard it hear first.
What people aren’t talking about is how Terron Armstead is going to help this team with his blocking on the o-line. He’ll be able to keep guys off of Tua, allowing him more time to throw the ball.
I’m really excited about how we used some picks in this draft to get a player we liked and was proven. That way we don’t have to worry about anyone being a bust and having to wait for them to develop. It shortens the timeline of how quickly this team progresses.
What isn’t being mentioned is how upgrading our offense will allow us to score more points than our defense will allow. Last year we had too many games where that didn’t happen. That’s why we ended up losing those games. Next season should definitely be different.
LOL @ sb7
rotflmao for real
Correa is a stud!
Be very happy!
Sounds like an STD, not that I would know or anything lol
Nobody is happy about an STD! 😉

🐬 Dolphins Playmakers 🐬
Tyreek Hill
Mike Gesicki
Jaylen Waddle
DeVante Parker
Raheem Mostert
Chase Edmonds
Cedrick Wilson
Myles Gaskin
Also: Lynn Bowden, Preston Williams, Salvon Ahmed, Durham Smythe, Hunter Long, Adam Shaheen, Robert Hunt
How the fuck does Hunt make this list is my question 🤷♂️…. And now a few random thoughts:
Much happier with Hill trade than getting Amari Cooper. Night and day in my eyes
Hill is also one helluva KR/PR
Between Armstead, limited games be damned , Connor Williams , and faith that the coaches can ACTUALLY COACH, our OL looks MUCH improved ..
Defence will play better because we may actually sustain drives and chew clock.. I SAID CLOCK
WR = Hill, Waddle, Ced Wilson,Bowden, Williams, Parker, Craycray, and Sherfield who our HC is Damian with , I can see Williams and or possibly Parker being moved .. Hurns will be cut soon ..
Both our new RB Mostert and Edmunds are great receivers…
Great to see some posters popping back in , stick around we have mellowed 😎😎
STUBBS !!!! Watupdog
^^^
Craycray, and Sherfield who our HC is FAMILIAR witH
Hunt is a joke, remember he caught that pass he wasn’t eligible to catch?
Right … 🛫🥴
Don’t know if this has been posted, but Hill’s deal is not as huge as 1st reports
He wanted to beat the Adams deal and he did, even if that last year is smoke and mirrors.
He’s leaving out Wilson. Not sure Parker will be a part of it. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re trying to trade him now.
Could be?
I’d say until they do? I’ll keep him in the plan!
I wouldn’t be surprised if we trade him, but we need a big bodied receiver who can work the sideline. I hope that we keep him.
And we might keep him. Preston Williams could be that guy at a much cheaper rate. I’m just thinking through it.
Head coach McDaniel has got to be going are you kidding me!!! OMG The things I can do
Borrowing Ken’s post. This is McDaniel watching film at 1am and drawing up plays. LOL
Lmao
LOL, I see you, SB.
Dolphins odds shifted a good but after the Hill trade, but went to 4/2 to 1 to win the AFC East and 35-1 to make the bowl. Below from Ceasers.
————————————
Dolphins futures odds shifts following the Tyreek trade 📈
Super Bowl: +7000 ➡️ +5000
AFC: +3500 ➡️ +2500
Division: +675 ➡️ +450
OOPS — 25-1 tp ,ale the SB.
So…….. you’re saying there’s a chance lol
It must be about talent or something like that. 😉
Hill’s contract is basically 4 years for 90.4m, so 22.6m per year, think some dead money or restructure would come in for year 5, haven’t heard what the signing bonus is
5.5m for year 5 dead money

Just reading thru posts about the blindside stuff… It’s not ideal, but it makes it a little easier to compensate.
———–
Correct, it is NOT ideal. And I’ll echo that from the mountain tops, Randy.
We can’t fix everything in one offseason. I’m hoping that Jackson or Eichenberg can develop into a solid starter. If you think about it, who did these guys have to learn from? No one. Additionally, it’s not like they were lining up next to a proven vet to help them along. You always hear that the really good OL make the guy next to them better. Our guys didn’t have that for the past three seasons.
100% agreed, Brian.
What’s more, I think the thought is that we can make either Liam or Austin very solid RTs. If this coaching staff can do anything, it’s to make our O-Line hella functional.
Yes. They are young and have some potential. Let’s hope these coaches can get it out of them!
NEVERTHELESS, I’ve got concerns!!! 😉
You don’t cut Parker to save 3.3m, he may feast with so many other weapons
They won’t cut him- it doesn’t make sense financially. But they could trade him.
How is that different?
^
I read his contract wrong so maybe not. I don’t dislike DeVante just not sure how many targets there will be for him.
Trade him for a 1st RD pick and draft Linderbaum. lol
While you’re at it just trade him and Tua for Josh Allen
We’re all in on Tua, maybe Parker for Josh Allen and their 1st.
OK – So who here thinks the FO read my article and said “Damn, Mike E seems pretty disappointed with what we’ve done so far, he’s not buying in. We have to do something that impresses him!”
First thing that crossed my mind, actually
I just read this:
The Dolphins have not had a top ten offense since 1995, the longest drought in the NFL
That’s a looooooooooooong time
Goodnight fellas! Sweet Dolphins Dreams!
G’night, Bro Mike E!
Goodnight Mike

Breece Hall is my man crush this year. Doubt he lasts that long though.

Realist! It’s been some time, man! How goes it?!
Bobby Wagner visiting the Rams tomorrow
He’s a west coast guy, grew up in Cali, played college ball in Utah and then his entire pro career in Seattle.
I must hit the hay as well. Today was a GOOD day, fellow Phins!
We’re learning that the salary cap is kind of a unicorn as long as you win. If it doesn’t work you start over and like Bookman said the other day, we know how to do that. LOL
You blow it up, you rebuild through the draft and then when you have the cap space you use FA to take the next step. We haven’t taken the next step yet, but at least that seems to be what the plan was and is. We’re going for it!!! It took 4 offseasons to get here.
Imagine if the jets had gotten Hill how we’d be reacting today, one day after getting Armstead
Seriously though it’s a good time to be a Fins fan
On Sunday I was at the beach in Sebastian Fl, talked to a guy with a Bills hat on, forgetting I was wearing my Fins hat
He was impressed with what we’d done so far, too bad it wasn’t tomorrow after the 2 big transactions

If you tally up all of the picks the Chiefs received from the Dolphins for WR Tyreek Hill, it’s equivalent to the 13th overall pick in the NFL Draft on the trade value chart.
Except you still have to pay him, but get a finished product
Not that I care about the draft picks, but we were close to just giving up a 2022 1st
