The 2022 NFL Draft hasn’t happened yet, but I figured let’s take a look at the current state of our division. The Bills were aggressive in free agency as were the Miami Dolphins. The New York Jets were somewhat quiet in free agency but they are primed to add talent in the upcoming draft. As of right now, the Jets hold picks #4 and #10 in RD 1, picks #35 and #38 in RD 2, #69 in RD3, two 4th RD picks #111 and #117 and two in RD 5, #146 and #163. So four picks in the top 40, and then an additional 2 picks each in round 4 and 5. The Patriots have a pretty standard draft selection available with one pick each through the first 5 rounds and then one additional 6th rounder for 7 total picks. The Patriots pick in RD 1 #21, #54 in RD 2, #85 in RD 3, #127 in RD 4, #170 in RD 5, and then 2 picks in RD 6 at #200 and #210. The Bills have 8 selections in the 2022 Draft, two in RD 6, and one in each other round, RD 1 #25, RD 2 #57, RD 3 #89, RD 4 #130, RD 5 #168, in RD 6 2 selections at #185 and #203, and in RD 7 #231. The Dolphins as we all know sent two of our top picks RD1 and RD 2 to KC for the services of one Tyreek Hill, WR.
The Bills struck first in free agency with a big move for their defense, acquiring Von Miller formerly of the SB Champion LA Rams. I was a little surprised that Miller left the Rams, but he did go to the AFC super bowl favorite Buffalo Bills. Miller signed a 6YR/$120M deal. The Bills aren’t the unanimous favorite, but they are among the favorites. The Bills added depth at QB behind Josh Allen trading for Case Keenum and signing Matt Barkley, They added a very good slot receiver in Jamison Crowder, a solid OG in Roger Saffold, a pretty good TE although an underachieving one in O.J. Howard. The Bills also brought back former Bill and former Dolphins DT Jordan Phillips. They added Dolphins fave RB Duke Johnson for depth, as well as former Dolphins C Greg Mancz. The Bills are definitely an elite team as currently constituted, we’ll see if their draft can put them over the top.
The Patriots were not big spenders in free agency this year. Last year, uncharacteristically they were very aggressive but have settled back into just filling depth, and not going for the high ticket players. They brought in RB/WR Ty Montgomery from the Saints and re-signed their own RB James White. They did also re-sign OT Trent Brown. They added QB Brian Hoyer as a backup for Mac Jones. They re-signed S Devin McCourty and added FA CB Malcolm Butler from the Cards. There were a few mor low key signings as well, and due to BB being the HC and GM, the Patriots are still ranked as one of the better AFC teams, usually ranked higher than our own Dolphins.
The Jets fortified their O-line by signing OG Laken Tomlinson (who I really wanted!) early in free agency. They signed TE C.J. Ozumah who showed promise last year for the Bengals. They re-signed WR/KR/PR Braxton Berrios (Another player coveted by FU bloggers). Theyt also brought in another TE, former Vikes TE Tyler Conklin. They re-signed all purpose RB Tevin Coleman and brought back flash in the pan QB Mike White as well as long in the tooth QB Joe Flacco. Their big move was Tomlinson but their fireworks will be in the draft.
So right now, the Bills, who already had one of the best teams in the AFC got stronger on defense by adding one of the best pass rushers in the game in Von Miller. The Bills also have 8 picks in this draft. The Jets are definitely going to add lots of high ranked prospects from the draft having 4 picks in the top 40 picks. The Patriots while not having a reputation of drafting especially well, and this year received ZERO compensatory picks, no doubt due to their free agent spending spree of 2021, still have 7 picks and the rest of free agency including post June 1st cuts to improve their team. Our Dolphins are low on picks with just 5, and 2 of those are in RD 7, with the first not coming until RD 3, pick #102. There’s always the possibility of trading up and trading either a player or future assets. I don’t say no to any of those possibilities. The idea is to use assets to acquire players that can help the team now, and in the future. It doesn’t matter to me if we use future assets, we’re ready to compete now, it just accelerates the schedule. If there’s a player we feel will make us better now and in the future, go get him.
We closed the gap on the Bills, but if I’m going to be completely honest, until I see us play a competitive game against them, they are light years ahead of us. We haven’t really belonged on the same playing field with them the last few years, losing every game, including a 35-0 drubbing and an ugly 26-11 defeat last season. In 202, Ryan Fitzpatrick lost a shootout 31-28 and then we all remember the shellacking we took Week 17 with the playoffs on the line for us, 56-26. In 2019 we lost 31-21 and 37-20. You have to go back to November of 2018 where slid past the Bills 21-17, but lost the 2nd meeting Week 17 to start their dominant run, 42-17. We played well against the Patriots and Jets, but those Bills will hinder our playoff chances if we can’t take on from them. Can’t count on sweeping the Pats and Jets every year either. It will be interesting to see how much the Jets improve as they surround their QB with upgrades from the draft. They will almost certainly be selecting a WR and possibly on OL early. They need a pass rusher too and that could also be an early selection. If we want to compete in an ultra competitive AFC with teams like the Bills, Chiefs, Bengals, Titans, Raiders, Broncos and Chargers, and any other upstarts, we’re going to have once again do well in our own division, so at least 4-2 at a minimum.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

On this day 39 years ago the Miami Dolphins select Quarterback Dan Marino from Pitt.
Wow, where have the years gone?
and thus began the team’s downfall
I got the page turn
Maybe it was meant to be but I don’t accept it…lol

Mike E. I don’t think it matters who owns Twitter either. People have politicized it. The person who owns it is irrelevant.
Musk will run it like a business. The prior owners ran it like a business too. People infer a lot of ulterior motives to each and it’s really simple minded and silly. All these guys want to to make a profit. They aren’t your enemies and they aren’t your saviors. The ideas that make it into the realms of public debate these days are just ridiculous. People just say crazy ideas enough and people talk about them insufferably
The only political thing I can say on the substance is a good thing. The change of ownership will probably kill all the talk about removing federal protections from social media – so that’s a good thing for all of us. If that talk goes away bc people that were saying it think they derived a benefit by a change of ownership , that’s really good for everyone.
A non political thing I am concerned that fee structure going from free to charging a fee. Given that he paid so much for it, financed that price, combined with the growing trend for subscription services – I think there’s a real risk that Twitter ends up costing money to use, that’s got nothing to do with the owner, that’s just economics. Twitter costing money may be inevitable. A change of ownership especially at such a high sale rate may have a accelerated that. You won’t hear people discuss this kind of stuff publicly bc they are concerned about their immediate political affiliations, but change of ownership always has an economic affect as does time and current trends. It’s something for the average consumer to keep there eye open for IMO
Things that make you think we might not be totally and utterly predictable and easy to defend this year …………….
Bollocks. Wrong tweet.

Things you love to see: one guy finishes his rep, the next is lined up ready to go
Isn’t that kinda how drills work?
Yeah you would think that would be the case. Maybe he’s seeing it more ready and faster than in previous years. I don’t know.
RE video: “Things you love to see: one guy finishes his rep, the next is lined up ready to go”
#85 WR River Cracraft, though only 4.5ish speed, dude has some quickness. I see why they like him/brought him in. It’s going to be a tough WR battle after the top 3.
Yeah, I had to search who #85 was. Looked like a TE though.
He’s listed at 6-0 198 so not sure how he looks like a TE. I think he’s viewed mainly as a STs guy and bottom of the depth chart WR.

One of the #Dolphins Day 3 picks will be announced from the base of the Christ the Redeemer statue that overlooks Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
A Brazilian celebrity will announce one of the team’s late-round picks. On that night, the statue will be lit up in aqua and orange.

That’s pretty cool!
Piggy – they start charging for Twitter that will be my last day on it. I don’t need it
Charge to post, but you likely can still see other’s posts
Subscriptions won’t be necessary to make money on Twitter, the current board will be replaced with doers instead on cancelers
Piggy – some folks are worried that Trump and his followers are going to take over Twitter. I’m seeing this on FB. If Trump gets back into his habit of blowing up Twitter he’ll just further guarantee he’ll never be POTUS again
I love how some people don’t approve of freedom of speech for certain people. Isn’t that a form of fascism?

I just think it is funny that the “wokesters” are going bat shit crazy.

Lol…
More players who have visited the Dolphins.

Just two more days till Draft day!
It will be interesting to see what we do if we just stay pat with the picks we have and make the most of them. Obviously when you only have a late 3, a 4 and two 7th round picks we really needed to study that range of the draft.
I see you biting your tongue. I see you.
LOL
I spent all morning looking at all the players they have brought in for visits. I like the many of them. I also think we could see them trade a future pick for a 5th or 6th if one they like one falls from 3rd or 4th. Like Nick Cross I mentioned below.
Or move up in 3rd for Cole Strange or an ILB.
Nick Cross would be a really good addition to our Safety group. 6′ 212 pounds and a thumper with 4.34 speed. “He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten Conference pick all three years with the Terrapins. Cross posted 45 tackles and tied for the team lead with two interceptions and five pass breakups in 12 games (five starts) as a true freshman in 2019 and started three of four games played in 2020 (23 tackles, one interception, three pass breakups). In 2021, he recorded 67 tackles (3.5 for loss with three sacks), tied for the team lead with three interceptions and added four pass breakups) and two forced fumbles.”

—————-
I swear to God we share a brain, man! YES… I’m willing to move up in the 3rd for a solid selection, whether it be for Cole Strange or Brandon Smith (perhaps a different ILB).
This is what I came away with using TDN’s draft simulator (NO TRADES)…
102. Miami Dolphins
Brandon Smith
LB, Penn State
125. Miami Dolphins
Luke Fortner
IOL, Kentucky
224. Miami Dolphins
Tyler Allgeier
RB, BYU
247. Miami Dolphins
Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa
EDGE, Notre Dame
I would be DELIGHTED with this result!
When your first pick is #102 it’s very difficult to project the prospects we’ll draft. The top 10 of this draft is all over the place. Follow your board.
Couldn’t have said it better: FOLLOW YOUR BOARD. And IF somebody falls that is high on your board, there should be consideration to move up a bit to acquire said player.
And HELL YEAH on it being difficult to project when our first pick begins @ 102.
Agreed on trading up if a guy you really like dropped.
I like it! I have thought about Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa a few times but never pulled the trigger.
I always thought he was better vs run than pass rush. I thought he was solid for ND in kind of an overachiever way. One of those guys whose skills don’t flash at you, but he will be solid, give you everything and make some plays for you.
I think the other ND homers on here may agree.
So what Elon Musk bought Twitter. Does anyone care? Does anyone thing it will be any different? I sure don’t.
Everything is a big deal these days. People are so tribal that if something changes, they think their world with end. I see and hear it all the time. Live your life because some day you’ll be dead.
Of course it won’t
I guaranty the people whining about twitters treatment of trump over the last year will be whining about it in 6 months again.
Somehow some believe freedom of speech will become a freedom….lol…all because of Elon!
In reply to Mike E
They are already all over Twitter and have been for a long time. Trump getting banned didn’t stop people from supporting him on Twitter. If musk decides to let trump back, it’s his business. It doesn’t change my experience. It doesn’t really change anyone’s experience
There are people who are overly sensitive to anything that happens. As if they can’t go on anymore if people they disagree with have a voice. I have family and friends on both sides of the political aisle that feel if this or that happens it’s the end of our country. They go to sleep paranoid and wake up paranoid.
Whatever we do in the draft, I’m not too concerned. I feel we’re already a better team than last year and we can go compete with who we already have. If we find one good player out of our draft that’s okay. UDFAs can be gems too.
Twitter is a cesspool. I honestly couldn’t give less of a shyte who owns it, lol.
It’s gotten pretty stale. I think for sports it’s still pretty useful
But it’s also really useless too- too many reckless rumors floating around
Fake identities is what I don’t like about it. People say stuff and start shit storms and nobody knows who they are. I’ve never done Twitter, I just read some stuff, mostly sports. But beware of that too. If I see sports rumors on Twitter I immediately go to the guys who are plugged in. If they’re not even mentioning it as a rumor it’s all BS.
Trump isn’t going back on Twitter, he has his own social media company called Truth
Pravda, (Russian: “Truth”) newspaper that was the official organ of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1918 to 1991.
Communists don’t allow open dialogue about issues. They control the message.
In democratic countries we allow disagreement. We have access to information that the subjects of communism do not have.
Trumps social media company called Truth will be no different than all the bias media networks. It will be filled with mostly Trump supporters high fiving each other. None of us have to listen to anybody. That would be like being forced to listen to the late Rush Limbaugh’s radio program back in the day. Nobody told you that you must listen to him.
It’s not doing very well though
I am told it is total trash and I am not taking about the content
That EDGE guy from ND is Tua’s cousin, I think.

Yup. Second worst platform after tiktok. It’s basically the internet’s version of that bar where Obi-Wan and Luke met up with Han Solo.
Speaking of Obi-Wan, are you ready for the Kenobi series, debuting this Friday? I AM!
And it kills me to say that I still have Disney+… I’m only there for my Star Wars.
So what, you have it because you enjoy Star Wars. I listen to lots of music from artists I don’t agree with when they talk politically. It’s the music for me, I don’t really care what they think about everything.
Back in the late 80’s through the mid 90’s I used to listen to 77 WABC radio which had both conservative and liberal talk show hosts including Rush Limbaugh. I learned a lot listening to all view points instead of having only bias viewpoints pounded into my head. Be an independent and think for yourself. Witness reality based on what you see and hear, not what you’re told. People who make a career out of spewing their personal opinions are all narcissists.
Current events and news is what’s happening. Then you find out what happened after an investigation. Then the talking heads tell you why they think this is what really happened. That’s never going to end in a free country. The last thing we want in society is no more disagreement.
Yup, I am old.
SunFest is this weekend in WPB and I am sitting here looking at the tickets and the schedule with the lineup and I don’t want to fight the traffic and fight my way to a $45 parking spot to plunk down $70 to see a bunch of bands I don’t like or don’t know that I like to drink $15 beers.
I always end up having a fun time, but my cranky old ass is focusing on the hassle.
It is always jamb full of hot honeies so there is that. (how does one pluralize honey anyway?)
MF13,
I didn’t know the kenobi series was debuting Friday. I’m not really a fan of the character or the actor who plays him. To me, he’s the villain of Star Wars.
Interesting take! Well then… Vader is coming back to hunt down your villain, SB7. Yes, Christian Haydensen is reprising his role as Darth Vader to destroy Kenobi. Should be most entertaining!
Yes, Haydensen is going to be wearing the SUIT of Darth… VADER.

I don’t like the feeling it gives me when I hand money over to ‘woke’ Disney, who is desperately trying to reprogram our children into ‘woke’ people: trans-genderism, despise of authority, and in many cases, Disney culture is reportedly into pedophilia.
They lost something to the tune of $40+ BILLION recently… that’s how serious the issues have become regarding Disney. The PEOPLE are beginning to awaken to the ‘woke’ BS, but I’m addicted to Star Wars.
Makes me feel bad for my addiction. I wish George Lucas had NEVER sold to Disney.
It’s all humanism. We’re evolving whether people like something or not. Evolution doesn’t mean utopia. We just know more about our existence. There will always be good and evil. People act like stuff going on today never happened before. It was worse in the past because it was easier to hide and sweep away. Not so easy anymore.
I have faith that most people in the world have good basic morals. But there are plenty of evil people. That’s the world we live in and it’s always been this way.
The Communists called their media platform Truth, even though it was full of lies.
It presented a biased account of everything.
And if people disagreed with it, they were branded idiots, unpatriotic, and ultimately, traitors, so they had their jobs taken or their businesses shut down and were imprisoned or just murdered.
Their version of cancel culture
Doesn’t Trump do the same thing as Communists?
Doesn’t Trump depict anyone who disagrees with him as an enemy of the US?
Doesn’t he inflame his supporters to attack and destroy anyone who disagrees with him?
He doesn’t even tolerate other Republicans disagreeing with him.
Naples, Trump was labeled a white supremacist/racist the moment the Democrats realized he was a serious candidate and not for their party. He was never known as such before, he was known as the “Donald”, a self-centered individual as are most successful people who think of themselves as great.
I’m no fan of Trump but I did see what his adversaries did to him. They made up stuff and lied to get their party back in power.
The guy was given awards for helping black and minority communities by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Then overnight, he was the opposite.
His daughter converted to Judaism for her husband and his grandchildren are raised Jewish. But he’s a white supremacist?
Propaganda is like a drug. Some people can’t get off of it.
Let’s take Trump out of the equation. You think it ends there? The video posted earlier by BBM of Russell Brand explains it well. It’s a battle of traditional vs. progressive. Not all people agree on how we should go about things. Get over yourselves! Until our liberties are really infringed upon, just go about your life. There is a large part of our population that thrives on dissension. They can’t exist without conflict. Fuck off!!! LOL
I was never a fan of Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck.
… …
‘Woke’ used in the modern slang way is atrocious grammar.
And I refuse to feel ashamed of being heterosexual.
AMEN!
That’s the problem, in general most people don’t like the bs politicians put out there, the large majority of people have the same general views, but are divided by the bs that’s brainwashed into people
JAELAN PHILLIPS: THERE’S NO CHEAT CODE TO SUCCESS | MIAMI DOLPHINS
I’ve been ALL ABOUT Jim Mora Jr’s LBs over the years at UCLA (I had called it the new ‘LB University’)… most of you should already know that. Can’t believe I was blind to the Jim Mora-Jaelan Phillips connect.
This cat is going to BALL!!!
agreed
I don’t want to jinx him, but he has the chance to be Jason Taylor 2.0.
Very impressive young man. Mature beyond his years like McDuffie said. He pretty much wraps up the recent conversations we’ve had here about free speech and individuality.
As a football player, I’d be shocked is he doesn’t ascend to higher levels this season and in future seasons. He has the potential to be our T.J. Watt. His mentality and his physical ability are a scary combo.
I hope the offense can build the kind of camaraderie that the defense found last season.
That type of team spirit is necessary to win in the playoffs.
The defense has now been built into their 3rd year. The offense is kind of a new thing. Let’s hope they can get up to speed quickly. 😉
My problem with Trump is not so much his positions on every issue. I agree with some of his ideas.
But he doesn’t care what I think. He only cares if I agree with him and praise him.
And he will check into what I say and do to make sure I am in lock-step agreement with him, or he will brand me a traitor and have his bullies beat me senseless in an alley.
My problem with Trump is he is a spoiled brat who can’t admit when he is wrong and is not a big enough man to admit defeat.
But the scariest thing about Trump is his desire to become King.
He wants his minions to physically injure and financially ruin anyone who does not swear allegiance to him personally.
That is dictatorship. That is threatening all of us in America that we must worship Trump in some sort of cult modality, or else pay life-changing consequences.
Trump does not show tolerance or allow open mindedness or invite debate of the issues.
Trump thinks only what Trump thinks is correct. People who disagree are labeled morons.
This country was founded on the concept of democracy, not monarchy.
Once a dictator gets enough of a base of support to strike fear into the general populace, then democracy dies. Freedom dies. The rule of law is thus replaced by the rule of thugs, secret police, and vengeance against fellow citizens, just because they have a different point of view.
There are plenty of historical examples of this. They are among the ugliest chapters of history.
i am not in favor of allowing gangs to rule Chicago or any city. I am not in favor of tearing down America or making me feel guilty about mistakes others made in the past.
I am extremely proud of America, proud to be American, and proud of the American Way.
I am not a communist. I am the opposite. I own a Corvette. I am not an atheist. I’m a Methodist.
But i am for freedom.
Trump is not for freedom.
Trump is for everyone swearing loyalty to Trump and everyone being a slave to whatever Trump wants.
I am against a welfare state, I am against illegal immigration, and I am against Big Government, but I am not willing to give up democracy for anyone’s individual ego trip.
I believe Trump will be re elected.
I believe he will then get a law passed saying it’s legal for him to be elected again.
He will say that the Democrats let Roosevelt do it, so they are only against him because he is Republican and fair is fair, and then he will be re elected again and be Ruler For Life.
And he will find out who votes against him and his minions, just as he has found out who did not support him in Congress. And he will go after them all with fierce vengeance.
And those who don’t vote for him will pay dearly for that mistake.
I fear the people that view Trump as a King or Savior. It’s a cult like mentality. Stop idolizing politicians that don’t really care about you. People viewed Hillary the same way. She’ll save us!!! Yeah okay. Now we have a senile president who’s always been wishy washy and a VP who giggles her way out of tough questions.
The buck stops nowhere.
I find that scarier. Trump already lost once. Lots of people prefer DeSantis including me. Biden got elected as an invalid. They pushed through an invalid just like they tried to push through Hillary. Trump wasn’t a terrible president. Biden makes Carter look good. I don’t understand how a guy that many hate so much is going to be a king. That just sounds stupid to me. Especially when the other side can push through invalids, transgenderism, CRT, everything’s racist and a whole lot more garbage. It seems like an effort by propaganda to push for the next shiny thing while stealing everything from us…and it’s working!! Crazy to focus on Trump when we have so many Biden issues.
I don’t see that Naples but he does like praise. I can’t ever understand why it’s ok for Twitter, FB, and these other companies to censor people but Trump is the real threat. He doesn’t have the support to be king. I think people misread his support. If the Democrats can get an invalid elected, then how isn’t that as big or a bigger threat than Trump? They got a guy who barely knows where he is as president. He’s been a disaster but he still gets supposed 40% support. How? How is that not scary to you?
Well if you are going to call Biden an invalid like he didn’t beat trump in the election, none of it will ever make sense to you bc you are consumed by bullshit when that is your starting point
Just as you believe in the insurrection, so what makes you any better?
TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING easily defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 tonight in the last regular season home game on the schedule. Two road games (at Columbus and at the Islanders) are all that remain before the first round of the playoffs begin. Bolts are almost a lock to play the Maple Leafs in round one of the playoffs. Two weeks ago the Leafs would have been prohibitive favorites to dethrone Tampa Bay. But, now that Tampa Bay is on a major hot streak (5 straight wins averaging 6.6 goals per game), this series must be rated a toss-up. Both Kucherov and Stamkos are on major hot streaks (Stamkos registered his 100th poiint for the season tonight) and, perhaps of greater importance, goalie Andrei Vasilevski was back to his old self tonight looking VERY sharp in the Tampa Bay goal.
REALISTICALLY, the Bolts are still long shots to win the Stanley Cup. But this recent hot streak at least keeps the dream of a “THREE-PEAT” alive. NO NHL FRANCHISE has pulled a “THREE_PEAT” since the great Islander teams of the early ’80s. And now, that there are quite a few MORE TEAMS IN THE NHL, winning a 3-Peat seems almost delusional. (As all of you NFL fans should know, NO FRANCHISE has ever won three consecutive Super Bowls.)
BUT don’t count the Bolts out just yet. They are peeking at just the right time of the season!
Make that “peaking.” Damn homonyms!
New Age, I have family and friends who feel until Trump is back as president our country will die. They wake up everyday hoping it’s closer to that reality. It’s fucked up! I don’t remember any politician being viewed quite that way in my lifetime. I was too young for Ike and JFK. Even Reagan was constantly questioned. Since then we started to see the divide start in the 1990’s. It’s basically boiling now. We lack tolerance with individuality. We can’t even live up to our own freedoms.
That’s the kind of shit you get when we’ve been pulled so far left
Pulled too far either way. We wouldn’t have this if the past wasn’t so rigid. Let’s be honest… conservatism of the 50’s was a pretty bland life. Just accept it junior and don’t question authority. Now you have youth more far left than ever even if they don’t know what’s best for them. Stop telling people what they should be. We have simple laws. Don’t violate the rights of others and live and let live. Nope, can’t happen. You have to vote this way junior. That’s the ticket!
Tim,
That’s sad but I can understand their feelings with Biden as President. He’s made life so much harder for people which makes Trump look so much better for people inclined to support him. The divide was started by the Left. You can’t be progressive unless you are constantly trying to change things even if they don’t need it. Reagan had some very hardcore supporters from what I remember. Some still talk about him being the best thing in America the entire past century.
The Left is going after kids. It censors people. It demands you follow their rules even when they are huge hypocrites. It pushes gays and transgenders in your face all the time. It is anti-police, pro racism. We once wanted to be left alone but can no longer hide our heads in the sand as degeneracy and hate is supported.
I know you want a nice compromise, but how often does the Left do that? Have you seen how often the leftist Judges vote the exact same way? Outside of Sinema and Manchin, do any Democrats vote differently in Congress? If you want to talk about drones, have you seen how the news is sold? They all have the same soundbites. They are a Hivemind. I wopn’t be the bigger man yet again. Time to break their power just like Musk is trying to do. It’s the only way forward past their madness.
Lol…oh my to catch up…and let it sit.
I don’t even know where to begin so I won’t…lol.
Lots of great posts today, I guess it’s a start…
I say let’s stand pat in the draft, we do with what we have, if we get lucky with someone falling, whatever.
On paper, we’ve done enough…put it on the field and let’s see what we got.
Still dubious about the D….
If we score more points our defense will feast. 3 and out and punt catches up with you.
I am in the camp of what happened to the D in the final 9 games vs the D in the in the first 8. It makes absolutely no sense. Something of significance happened and I wish I knew.
Dubious…
I don’t want to put it on Flores now that he’s gone, that seems easy right? Now based on his accusations, I don’t think he’s the strong guy I thought he was. 3 OCs and OL coaches his first 3 seasons. He had no vision on offense. He helped build what I think has top 10 potential on defense. I give him credit for that. Coach McD saw that and said why fuck with it? We all know the offense has to be better, that’s why they hired me.
The last 9 weeks we had 2 rookies, that played like vets, and Baker put more outside where he should’ve been all along
Steve, I agree somewhat. The defense started to come together with the talent they had and so did the offense as mediocre as they were.
When one phase of your team is always changing along with young players especially with a 2nd year QB, what do you expect? The defense was always being built the same way for 3 years. Flores/Boyer were always there. O’Shea, Gailey and Godsey along with new OL coaches every year was not continuity.
Mike McDaniel has to hone in the entire team for the common goal. But geez this offense needed upgrades and we did that. The spotlight will be on Tua because it’s always on the QB. We know it’s not all about him but a lot of it is. If Tua balls out we’ll be in the big games. 🙂
Turrible!
That’s downloads. If you want to be naive and judge performance of a new app vs old app on how many people downloaded it, I guess you can eat this up.
But reality tells me Truth launched in February. How many people do you know that are just getting around to downloading Twitter after a decade of existence?
https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-truth-social-media-app-review-ghost-town-overrun-bots-2022-3
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/04/05/trump-truth-social-media-failure/
https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-60922717
Notice Truth and Trump are similar?
Thus the slogan “Follow the Truth” is full of double meaning.
Follow is the word for using Twitter.
Also Trump wants followers, people who follow.
Naples – I don’t think truth and Trump are close, ever. lol
Makes you wonder
Excellent!

The pendulum swings both ways equidistantly. Left-right, side to side.
In today’s world, imo, the pendulum is uptempo and accelerating.
Funny, how some think there’s no such thing as a pendulum….lmao…it’s always one side’s fault.
The far extremities of both parties are the problem, despite them being by far the minority of either party.
I don’t think the far right (white supremists) has had the same effect on us in the last 40 yrs, that the far left is having now
Lol steveccnv…thanks for making my point
That’s a weak point, because you think it goes back and forth in equal distances doesn’t make it so
Pendulum is used a lot in these types of analogies, but it’s really not a good reference, a better grasp would be to say it goes some distance in one direction, then back to center, then to the other and back, using Pendulum doesn’t prove it goes about same distance
The point that Mike E. got and you don’t is that there are extremes on both sides and both extremes are shit, imo.
You, however, don’t understand that as you just stated white supremacy wasn’t as extreme as the left extreme. White supremacy is about hate…..hate away dude…lol…it’s your “right”.
That’s what pendulums do…..lol.
Have you ever witnessed a clock pendulum? Pretty cool. Swings back and forth without a push. A music pendulum is pretty cool, too.
Perfect point, imo….if you are teachable….lmao
What you don’t get is the extremes that happen each way aren’t the same, as if to justify all the bs that’s happening right now with, both sides are doing it
Well I’m left, and I don’t like what they’re doing, but the right does it too so it’s ok
NEVER said it was OK, and don’t put words in my mouth….that is NEVER OK with me.
Try reading comprehension and stay away from spewing fake news and alternative facts…lol.
DETROIT (AP) — Tesla CEO Elon Musk donated about 5 million shares of company stock worth roughly $5.7 billion to an unidentified charity in November, according to a regulatory filing.
The shares were donated from Nov. 19 to Nov. 29, the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said.
In late October, Musk, the world’s richest man, tweeted that he would sell $6 billion in Tesla stock and give the money to the United Nations World Food Program if the organization would describe how the money would solve world hunger. But the filing did not name any recipients for the donation.
David Beasley, WFP executive director, said in a statement Tuesday that the organization hasn’t received anything from Musk yet. “There are millions of people around the world on the brink of starvation. Whether WFP receives any of this money is yet to be seen, but I am excited to hear that Elon is engaged. This is an amazing and great first step,” Beasley said in a statement sent by a spokesman.
He’s my neighbor! Lol!
Reading an article that he may move Twitter to ATX. Makes sense with Tesla, Space, Boring Co. and more….pretty amazing.
He was supposedly at a dive bar downtown (that I have frequented in the past-great wings). Lol!
SpaceX!

Piggy,
Biden is an invalid. Sure, he beat Trump but that doesn’t change the fact he’s an invalid. Do you want me to post all the many times he’s been completely lost? Your inability to be honest about his massive deficiencies as president and as a mentally fit individual makes your argument so much weaker. I can be honest about Trump’s many flaws, but you are unwilling to be honest about Biden’s brain not working all the time. Who is consumed by bullshit? Basic facts should be the starting point of your conversation so start there. Biden has no mild dementia or other mental flaws in your opinion? He’s just trying to shake hands and talk to invisible people because that’s just how it’s done when the grown ups are in charge again? Lol, c’mon buddy.
^
Ok…I’ll play.
Is it worse to be an invalid or a liar running a country? I say both are bad….however, one’s a conscious effort and the other is unconscious….lol.
Well biden is both of those so…and he doesn’t even try to hide his lies, he just uses the media to cover them up
Ok, steveccnv….again thanks for making my point….keep those “right-colored” sunglasses on as they serve you well.
If you don’t agree or like him the word “invalid” is your problem.
That sounds like you are disputing whether he is the president or not
Call him a bad President, call him senile if you want – but to me the use of the word “invalid” means something other that just criticizing
I’m not going to debate you on your opinion of Biden. I don’t care about what you think of him. You have your right to view his performance any way you like and act on it
But now I actually don’t know what you are actually saying bc you chose to use the word “invalid” repeatedly
“invalid” bc you disagree with him or don’t like the job he is doing is just really bad wording.
That word is just wrong to describe what you just described in this post and blaming me and my opinion of the guy as biased bc you used a word that connotes a totally different meaning doesn’t get past that
Try to use that word in an innocuous apolitical setting. “I don’t like peanut butter so peanut butter is “invalid”. Does that make any sense to you? Who talks like that?
“Invalid” is what you say when you don’t beleive he’s actually president or lawfully president. Is that what you meant or not?
An infirm or sickly person. A person who is too sick or weak to take care of him/herself.
I see. No, he was elected as president. When I said an invalid, I meant, as Son mentioned, someone who is disabled by illness. I think he’s mentally unfit but he won the election.
in·va·lid
/ˈinvələd/
a person made weak or disabled by illness or injury.
“an invalid husband”
Invalid and invalid are spelled identically but are pronounced differently and have different meanings, which makes them heteronyms.
Invalid vs invalid – Grammaristhttps://grammarist.com › heteronyms › invalid-vs-invalid
🍺
Oh come on man…
Wow! Quite the spanking you just gave to Rosanne
Words are funny things
I think there is confusion about the two words:
invalid (with the accent on the val part)
meaning not valid as in not justified, not reasonable, not in force (expired) or not legal
such as having an invalid passport
and
invalid (with the accent on the in part)
meaning sick or injured or just so old that the person cannot fend for themselves and/or is bed-ridden, in a wheel chair, or at least home bound aka the term shut-in from olden times like my youth
sorry … I owe you beers.
Biden will be 80 later this year.
Putin will be 70. (as am I, also Bruce Arians, Bill Bellichek, and the Seattle coach Pete Carroll)
Trump is 75.
You’re 70? I thought I was next in age to OD…lol. You’re fucking old!
I do have to apply for Medicare this year…wtf?
I took the post as in’-va-lid…as in dementia.
Well congratulations to all of you that have a better understanding of how to insult the elderly than I do
I guess I mistook the word invalid as a challenge to the validity of his president instead as an insult to his capacity
I’m not sure I’m gonna be using the word invalid going forward though to be honest
Just wait until you find out there’s more than one meaning to ‘thirsty’.
Give me an example
One can be really thirsty to hydrate.
One can be really thirsty for power.
The pig was as thirsty for scandal as anyone else
I doubt that’s true about Piggy, but another version of thirsty.
I think “invalid” is the wrong word for Biden. Both of them.
He was elected so he cannot be invalid like an invalid passport.
He is able to walk unaided, make public speeches, and conduct business,
so he cannot be labeled invalid in the medical sense.
… …
He does walk stiffly, he does mumble during speeches, and he does need handlers to help him cover all of his responsibilities.
So I do see age related degenerative symptoms.
The term senile has been replaced by more scientific terms, but I do not think Biden has reached the level of Alzheimers.
I do think he has shown some “senior moments.”
It’s an insult, you know how they work, someone takes a small flaw, in this instance huge flaw, and exaggerates, no need to open the dictionary
No different than you insulting Trump with exaggerations
He can walk unaided. He messes up speeches with a teleprompter sitting in front of him, so I disagree about the second. How can he conduct business if he needs handlers? If you need handlers, he cannot fulfill the duties so he’s an invalid. He is disabled from doing all the duties required of the president. If he was a Walmart greeter, then I’d probably use different terminology, but he isn’t. The guy is mentally unfit for the taxing duties of his office.
I don’t think there is any CEO out there who does not have Executive Assistants to help keep everything straight and make sure he gets everything done and gets to all his meetings.
You see this in the credits on movies, too. Assistant to the Producer, etc.
and in football. How many assistant coaches do NFL head coaches have nowadays?
And one of my criticisms of Flores is that he did not take advice and suggestions well from his own staff.
… …
One of my criticisms of Trump is that he does not take advice or ask for input very well.
Nobody can be the leader of the Free World without a staff to help do the mundane chores and do the research and report back to the President.
And the pres should then listen.
… …
Biden does say some goofy stuff sometimes.
OMG
Piggy,
1. feeling a need to drink.
“the hikers were hot and thirsty”
2. having or showing strong sexual desire for someone.
“she’s not even looking at you. Stop being so thirsty”
Lol….
In the first version, How do you know the hikers weren’t humping first?
Great point, thirsty after hiking (just warming up).
then that would fall under the second meaning and they would be humpers not hikers
Humping has several meanings, too…lol
…this shit getting complicated…lol
LOL, SB7. That show I mentioned the other day I was watching with my wife and daughter, they used ‘thirsty’ in the slang way. I was pretty sure I understood based on context, but I still had to look it up.
All right New Age
I admit I jumped down your throat bc I though you were saying something different than what you said and I should have read more carefully to understand that you meant something else when you said “invalid” – sorry I did that
Going forward may I recommend the following: senile, incapacitated, doddering, depends dependent. Any of those things
Ok invalid it is, thanks for clearing that up🤪
Lol, Piggy.
No biggie Mr. Piggy. Doddering fool is a favorite as well.
That’s awesome.
Like synchronized swimming, only interesting.
Love these guys
jeez
Their feet are moving so fast, it’s a blur.
or maybe that’s just because of my age-related deterioration of vision.
I have to wear progressive lenses now.
Does that mean I favor liberals?
You can literally say you see the world thru Progressive glasses, big change😝
Did I mention you’re an old fuck. And glasses might help? LOL!
Everyone prefers their own shade of glasses…
The invalid is certainly running circles around Putin. Oh the mumbling issue is a well documented speech impediment that he has had since childhood
Yeah ok
Cause he talks exactly like he did 8 years ago
Well, Ken is “right” but to clarify I believe it’s more of a stuttering issue. It makes it hard to get words out and I would think at his age, it’s getting tougher. No doubt.
These are lifelong facts if you care to look it up….or just spew…lol.
I know someone posted this before, but I didn’t notice the redlines on the field until the last time I saw it. I don’t I’ve seen redlines placed on our practice fields before, but it could be a part of the teaching of the new offense. I remember Pete Carroll talking about controlling the redline years ago and something their offense had been doing.
Here’s a 2014 article about the Jaguars using redlines on their field and giving a reason of why it’s there.
https://www.bigcatcountry.com/2014/8/5/5959491/jaguars-practice-redline-seahawks-pete-carroll
Here’s another from 2013 about the Seahawks themselves and their philosophy.
https://www.fieldgulls.com/football-breakdowns/2013/8/23/4648046/seahawks-packers-2013-russell-wilson-golden-tate
It could be nothing because I haven’t noticed redlines before, or it could be a way to benefit Tua and this passing game, given that Darrell Bevell was the OC in Seattle from 2011-2017. McDaniel was also in the same division and saw their offense firsthand twice a year.
Just wait until you find out there’s more than one meaning to ‘thirsty’.

The draft starts Thirsty. We don’t currently have a pick until Friday.
lol
If Biden were my dad, I’d be concerned about his deteriorating mental health. Since he’s not, I’ll just vote against him in 2 years. If it’s Trump against Biden I’m moving to Manitoba. LOL
My dad has been dead for nearly 40 years so I’d be concerned if it was my dad as well. lol
I really hope DeSantis runs
Phillips gets down on himself, when someone else on the team gets a sack, where he felt it should’ve been his, he should be glad the team got the sack and not worry about his stats
I really hope DeSantis runs
———————-
Same here. Not sure how people feel about him but wouldn’t mind a DeSantis/Jim Jordan ticket.
SB – would you be Hunter if Biden was your dad?
If someone wants to pay the same for my bad art, I’ll be Hunter.
If it’s Trump against Biden I’m moving to Manitoba.
——————–
Sorry Toba, but F that cold shit. I am going to South America! Beautiful in more ways than one.
Lots of snow in Manitoba
I have been a registered Democrat since I was 18 so 4O years or 10 Presidential election cycles. That said I am open to voting for a Republican. I will not vote for Desantis and most certainly will not vote for Trump. However if a more centrist or traditional Republican candidate should emerge such as an Adam Kinzinger, Ben Sasse or even Mitt Romney. I would probably vote for them over Biden. I think a return to the traditional platform/politics would be good for not just the Republican Party but for the country as well. Sadly I don’t see that happening
I don’t know who the first two guys are, but Mitt Romney is more of what’s bad about American politics. I don’t see how he’s a better choice than Desantis.
I agree
Romney doesn’t ban books or enact legislation against those that exercise their freedom of speech to criticize him. Pretty bright line distinction for me
Kinzinger is in House of Representatives from Illinois and an Air Force veteran. Sasse is a Senator from Nebraska
These all seem like establishment politicians, unlike DeSantis
Define an establishment politician? How is any different than Kinzinger who was in the military and then entered politics just like Desantis
Establishment politician – politician always on the take, looking out for their best interest and not the countries
Pelosi, Biden, Clinton’s, McConnel are all good examples of people no one should ever want in DC, unless of course they’re benefitting from it too
Hardly a definition but again how is Kinzinger an establishment politician and Desantis not when their backgrounds are virtually identical or is Desantis also an establishment politician?
I also presume that you now consider an establishment politician
Donald Trump^
Don’t know kinzinger, just assumed since you were ok with him he was establishment🤪
Kinzinger and Sasse — two of my favorites.
Man you guys just can help yourselves!! I know we are in the doldrums but can’t you all just keep your politics off of here?
Lol…I know! I was talking about pendulums….holy fuck!
Feel free to add something of substance.
Any substance….that has several meanings, too…lol
I also brought up “stubbornness”….lol.
And weed….lol
I know we are in the doldrums but can’t you all just keep your politics off of here?
—————-
Yeah, as long as we keep electing certain crooked politicians as President, we will all be speaking Chinese in 10 years anyway. So what’s the use in talking about it. Let’s just enjoy our freedoms and our money while we can.
Alright enough politics for me I gotta focus on work. Let’s remember we are all Americans
How’s that American dream doing these days, for the avg American?
Just like always it has its ups and downs but generally doing alright. More people want to come here than leave here
That’s not what the American dream is, it’s buying a house
For the first time home ownership is below 50%
Inflation and lockdowns responsible
Well you didn’t define the term but since you have now there is a huge housing boom going on especially in the northeast. My home value is close to double what I paid for it. 2 houses on my street sold in less than a week at or above asking price this past month
That’s what I’m talking about, prices going up so high people can’t afford to buy
But they are buying. If people couldn’t afford to buy prices would drop. That is how a free market works. The houses are selling like crazy right now
D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork pleaded guilty to theft of property greater than $300,000. That’s Vince Wlfork’s son.
Hard for any Dad to take but even in worse in this case was the property included two Super Bowl rings, two AFC championship rings, and a college football national championship ring.
He stole it from his dad?
Yep.
Jaelan Phillips:
“I’m really critical of myself and I have a lot of high aspirations and I want to do everything I can to help the team and so for me, not being able to come in every single down to help the team, that’s something where I took it on myself where I’m gonna work on this and sacks were nice, but ultimately, it’s more than just sacks,” Phillips said. “It’s more than just production. It’s about how you fit in in the defense and what are you doing to contribute to the team as a whole. And so, yeah, just constantly trying to better myself and improve the things that I need to improve on.”
Statistically at least, Phillips improved considerably in the second half of his rookie season after a very quiet start.
Of his 8.5 sacks, 6.5 came in the final eight games. Same thing for his QB hits, with 10 of the 16 coming in those final eight games.
I hope this young man keeps it up and comes out of the blocks sprinting this season! No more slow starts.
https://www.si.com/nfl/dolphins/news/miami-dolphins-linebacker-jaelan-phillips-leaner-wise-more-confident-as-he-approaches-second-season
In the same article he discusses how he has remade his body by putting on 15-20 lbs of muscle while dropping a bunch of fat so he is only 5 lbs lighter than he played last season but is a lot stronger.
I hope he does well enough to get national recognition.
It would be awesome to see him continue on his late season trajectory. If he takes that next step, our D could be special.
I agree. What’s even better, he is not even close to hitting his ceiling yet. His future is bright especially with Ogbah on the other side.
👍
Sigh, fuck you
I’m out
Tindall operated in a rotational role for all four years with the Bulldogs, but he easily had his best season in 2021. He finished with 67 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 19 quarterback hits, and 5.5 sacks while earning a spot on the AP All-SEC second team.

….lots of talent here!
I hear Austin has been blowing up for a long time now. Everyone I know that talks about living in Austin says really good things.
Aren’t your property taxes in TX really high?
I guess that’s relative, too. Depends on what you mean by high. I go through a tax protest process every every year to try and minimize the increase in market value of the home. That’s been saving me property taxes every year and well worth it.
I believe at 65 I will get an “old age” exemption, in addition to, the homestead exemption we’ve been getting every year. The MV of my home this year sky rocketed and so you can be sure I’m doing protest again. I think with “old age” exemption, they can’t raise the MV any more. I hope so.
SB7,
Apologies… I am so hyped up for the Kenobi series that I was premature by a month (ouch!). It debuts on the last Friday (the 27th) of May, not the last Friday of this month.
Rock – Wyo calls me a curmudgeon. Geez Francis, lighten up!
Ukraine taking out Russian tanks like it is a video game. Never heard of a system like this. They pre-set the launcher and camouflage. Then do all the shooting remotely (not sure how far away).
Makes you really wonder about Russian leadership and military tactics. I see no infantry support. No air support. Just an armored column doing nothing to protect itself from ambush
Seen a whole lot of military experts on the news both pleased and humbled by how badly the Russians are doing in light of how these guys touted the Russian capabilities before. They don’t even have air superiority.
That’s fantastic news Stanger
Remember several months ago, when most of us thought Jameson Williams could fall to the late 1st-early 2nd round? I think he’s going anywhere from #11-#19, and probably the first WR off the board now.
It’s been all good news on his recovery!
Absolutely, Wyoming! Gotta feel good for the guy!
I don’t bring this up out of nowhere, as I’m trying to figure out who we might try to trade up for in the 1st round. And clearly, after the acquisition of ‘Reek the Cheetah, there’s no way we’d move up for Jameson.
My best guess would be for Tyler Linderbaum, should we get ballsy.
Now if we try to trade up into the 2nd round, there are many more possibilities, being it won’t cost as much to trade up into the 1st round.
I’d be looking at IOL and LBs, and there are several names who might be on our radar.
Oh yeah, possibly a pass-rusher as well… can’t have enough of them.
And Dak holds the ball for a long time
“Roughly 47 million U.S. workers voluntarily left their jobs in 2021, accounting for well over a quarter of the civilian labor force.”
Are ever in an employee rules time given the unprecedented unemployment rate. If you ever wanted to scout around for another job…. now is the time. One in four workers changed jobs last year.
Outstanding advice, but now that the COVID payments to stay home have ended for nearly everybody, nearly everybody is back to work in 2022.
Unemployment rate is still 3.6%. That’s incredibly low. You’ve read on this board and I have heard from elsewhere how hard it is to find people. If you are an employee that means opportunity.
The UI figure is only for people collecting state benefits, it’s really not accurate
What is the more accurate way to do it? Thought had always been state administered. In any event the worker shortage is not made up.
IMO, we ideally either sit @ #102, or possibly trade up just a bit to nab a guy we really think highly about. In doing this, we retain all of our future draft capital or perhaps use a future 3rd in 2023 (thus not killing our ’23 draft capital) to move up a bit in this year’s 3rd.
Grier specifically talked about how important getting the 3rd for Parker was, don’t see him trading it forward
Yeah, man… that continues to stick in the back of my head as well. However, it could be used as leverage to move up… that’s important as well. We’ll soon see!
There are several that may “fall” in the draft that “I” would like.
Nakobe Dean
Tyler Linderbaum
Tyler Smith
1 of the many edge guys
I should say trade up into the second.
I like that list, and I’d also consider Leo Chenal and Chad Muma.
Also Dylan Parham and Cole Strange.
Don’t know much about most of these guys, but I’m hearing reports, that Dean might go early to mid 1st
Hearing the same on Dean. IF he somehow gets out of the 1st round, he could be a target if we don’t stand pat @ #102.
I think everybody here (and the rest of the football WORLD) would crap their pants tomorrow evening if we traded both first-round picks from next year (and perhaps some change) to move into the top-10 to select an elite talent… say Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu, to be our future RT.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS, AT ALL!!! But holy shiite, it would turn the football world upside down in an instant. That would also be too reminiscent of Jeff Ireland blowing his load for Dion Jordan back in 2013… DON’T DO IT!!!
It wouldn’t bother me as much as it probably should. We need more IL for this team to reach the full potential it has
“He really set the standard of being a modern slot receiver. So, he can give insight and go into detail and really get into your head and know what it’s like to be out there. It’s been great.”
— Jaylen Waddle on Wes Welker
Yeah Wes was one of the best for sure.
So here I go… unless we trade up for Tyler Linderbaum (I do NOT suggest doing so), I can’t see any rookie being an instant upgrade to Micheal Deiter at Center. Remember, JC Tretter is still out there as a FA, and he’s probably doing the typical 30-something-year-old FA thing in waiting until after TC is over to sign with somebody.
The point being, we don’t necessarily need to upgrade the Center position via the Draft, unless we’re willing to spend a future 1st to move up for Linderbaum… and I don’t deem that to be necessary for obvious reasons.
JC Tretter is our ‘ace-in-the-hole’ if we don’t like how Deiter is coming along after TC.
And even if we don’t land JC Tretter via FA, we still need to address a good backup Center for Deiter… perhaps one who can unseat him in the future.
Wait until after TC? Guys need TC to get ready. Did you mean OTAs?
I think it’s probably about money with Tretter, A lot of times when players get into that 30+ range they’re not willing to play on the cheap.
YES, I meant OTAs. Thank you for the correction!
No doubt we need some depth at center unless we have plans for someone already on the team as a backup.
Thus, I believe our primary goal this Draft is to come away with the BPA in an area of need… and to me, it screams a run-stopping ILB to pair with Jerome Baker.
Roberts is a run stopping ILB.
Indeed he is, and I was MOST happy when we decided to bring him back for ’22… but it’s only a one-year contract and he’s never once played a full season in the league since he was drafted.
*Never once started for a full season. He’s got injury concerns.
I think that’s because Roberts plays so physical he bangs himself up.
I agree it would be nice to add a young LB to the group but I’d like to find a guy who can be 3-down if needed. Teams play so much nickel and dime these days.
Brandon Smith, man!!!
After looking it up, Roberts has played 2 full seasons in his career and 90 of 97 games in his 6 year career.
He had a good year for us last year playing in 15 of 17 games, 83 tackles, 2FF, 4 PD, a sack and his first career INT returned for a 85 yard TD.
+1 sack on Mac Jones, that got cheated away
Yeah that was BS. The refs thought it was Brady. LOL
Another reason I’m high on this season coming is …
The coaching staff that McDaniel has assembled is honestly almost hard to believe.
Darrell Bevell is the real deal.
Madison and Surtain and Welker? Are you F’n kiddin’ me?
Those three guys know more secrets to NFL success than just about anybody he could’ve gotten!
He has hired 4 RB coaches:
Studesville, K.Smith, F.Smith, and himself.
Plus he loaded up on 5 OL coaches …
The OC Smith was the Chargers OL coach last year,
JeanPierre was the Dolphins OL coach last year,
Person was playing OL in the NFL last year,
the new OL coach Applebaum was the OL coach for a very successful Boston College OL, and
Henley the new assistant QB coach was Tennessee OL coach last year.
Right on, Naples! And this is another reason why I don’t believe we’ll be trading UP for any O-Linemen this Draft: this coaching staff could probably make Marc Colombo look good in his later years.
Now let’s not go gettin’ too crazy with the Original Human Turnstile
LOL
But as bad as Jackson and Eich were last year,
they were still better than Marc, bless his heart.
And they have the potential of highly drafted youth.
Marc was just plain Done.
SO agreed, on all accounts, Naples.
That would be a basically perfect haul.
IF IF IF our coaches can get Smith to focus.
Agreed… and thank you!
I’d be cool with that.
Tagovailoa-Amosa looks a lot like his cousin Tua.
Thank you!
102: Brandon Smith, ILB, PSU – Has the talent to be special but needs to be coached up.
125: Luke Fortner, C, Kentucky – Has starter potential.
224: Tyler Allgeier, RB, BYU – Could be a sleeper.
247: Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, EDGE, ND – Lunch pail over-achiever type prospect.
^
Are we going to do our annual Miami Dolphins mock draft here on this site? I’m willing to go from R1P1 all the way to #102! JK/LOL 😉
It got testy today in St Louis. I didn’t watch the whole game, only saw the incident in a replay. Mets were down big in the 8th, Arenado was 3 for 3, the pitcher came in high and tight and Arenado got stupid. I didn’t see if there were other things that led up to it, but it wasn’t some bad intention pitch, just a brush back.
J.D. Davis got hit on the ankle and had to leave the game. There was another pitch earlier that was some chin music I forget who.
The Mets have been hit 19 times most in the league by quite a bit. Alonzo hit in the head twice and Lindor once. Buck is getting really pissed off.
I guess you’re boy Carrasco started it off early by hitting Sosa
And yesterday their were 4 HBP, 2 for each team, so this has been building, lol.
Make that 5, we got 3 of your guys.
It’s not just about being hit, it happens. The Mets have also had 5-6 pitches at the head that guys got out of the way. This started in the 1st game with one of your pitches throwing one of those head pitches. But it’s been following the Mets whoever they play. So they’re already testy about it.
It’s getting out of hand. Everyone wants to throw 98-100 and many pitchers have no control whether it’s the ball or not. It’s like every game with the Mets. Not getting hit on the leg or hands, but head hunting stuff.
Buck has said hitters have gloves and pine tar but pitchers can’t use anything for a better grip, doesn’t make much sense.
Yeah, like I said, brush back pitches happen, batters are going to get hit sometimes, and pitches get away sometimes. I don’t really see it as a problem. It’s part of baseball, boohoo. I had that thought when I saw Arenado’s reaction to the brushback push in today’s game, I have the same reaction for you guys. I don’t know what the data says, maybe I might see it differently if I saw HBP numbers were tremendously different now or injuries from HBP were skyrocketing.
Removing the pitcher from the batter’s box also doesn’t help with intentional brushbacks and beanballs. There is a check and balance there when you know if you bean someone, you might get the next one. I loved the NL for having pitchers in the batters box. I’m still bummed the league caved and homogenized the two leagues.
