I’ve made some statements indicating I’d be in favor of the Dolphins trading future picks and/or players to move up into RD 1 tonight, in which currently we don’t own any picks. Actually, we have quite a wait, as we all sit and watch players come off the board to other teams, sometimes division rivals. We’ve made our moves in free agency and trades, especially the big trade acquiring WR Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs for multiple draft picks, our 1st, 2nd and 4th RD picks this year, along with 4th and 6th in 2023. That leaves us with a late 3rd RD pick (#102), a 4th RD pick (#120), and two 7th RD picks (#224 and #247). Oddly enough, this will be the first time I won’t be watching Day 1 of the NFL Draft because Opening Day in my softball league for my team begins tonight at 8PM. Our game was rained out last Tuesday. I’m taking this as a sign from the universe that there’s no need to watch tonight, the Dolphins will be idle.
Well, it sure would be fun to make a move to get back into RD1 though, wouldn’t it? Say, somewhere around pick 20-25, or maybe a bit later if a certain OC slipped a bit further than expected, and the Dolphins pounced and scooped up Tyler Linderbaum. Sure, they LOOOOOOVE Michael Deiter and all 31 other teams have been harassing the Dolphins to acquire his services. Yeah, uh-huh. Just because I don’t believe that, that doesn’t mean Michael Deiter won’t be our C this season. Why should I believe they love him so much? I don’t recall him being dominant, ever, and even when he had the starting job this past season, he only made it through 8 games. We don’t know how Linderbaum would fare as a pro, but he’s exactly what the Dolphins are looking for, a powerful, nimble, quick footed move center who could probably start day one. Hey, maybe if Deiter is so wanted, we could package him to move up to take our center for the next decade.
Let’s face it Dolphins fans, most drafts we grit our teeth in anger when they don’t take the guys we like, but for the first 2 rounds, we KNOW they won’t be taking guys we like because we have no picks. Will that make it easier? Probably not, we’ll be angry watching our favorite prospects go elsewhere as per usghe, but at least for rounds 1 and 2 it should be easier. Is it possible that we move up in this draft? Of course it is, I can’t make it any clearer that our window in which we will be competitive in has been accelerated. We can be competitive NOW. I see no reason not to move future assets to acquire help for this season and beyond. Picks are assets, but players that help you win NOW are better than future assets. I know so many of you want those multiple picks for the “JUST IN CASE TUA SUCKS” scenario. Tua doesn’t suck. I’m not worried about that in the least. To me, the question is, is there a player that we can acquire in RD 1 that makes us better immediately and the next 5 years? If Tyler Linderbaum fits those parameters, then go ahead, make the trade and get him. I should be home by 10:30PM, just make sure you don’t do it until then.

I say stand pat with what we have this year. Use next years to grab a stud at either ILB, Edge, or OC. Use FA this year to grab an OC on a 1-2 year deal.
I’m with Pat
I’ll briefly watch tonight, since it’s here and to hope guys like Linderbaum go early, so we don’t trade up
Don’t think Grier will sit there for 2 days and watch player after player, that he likes, go off the board
Think he doesn’t have enough restraint to be patient and will do something stupid, like over paying to move up
I agree he might get antsy.
I’m hoping we only trade up to take a guy who is clearly better than anyone we have at his position, meaning he will certainly surpass that guy on the depth chart, preferably from day one.
Last year Flores and Co coached at the Sr Bowl and our draft was stellar, having that first hand knowledge did wonders, without it in other years our drafts haven’t been the greatest
Here’s to hoping Grier realizes that fact
Well it’s such a weird draft this year for us, starting basically with a 4th round pick, and only having 4 total, so it’s hard to compare this one to normal years.
Going back to our coaches, I’m also impressed and excited that we have so many coaches who played in the NFL. It’s a plus because they know what the players are going through.
11 different coaches had careers in the NFL.
Bevell did not get drafted and did not play a down in the league, but he was the winning QB in 2 major bowl games in college right at the beginning of the Alvarez years at Wisconsin that brought the Badgers back to prominence.
His OC was Brad Childress, who had enough playbook chops to land a NFL HC job. Although things did not go well for him with the Vikings, it was more not being ready for the Big Chair than lack of football IQ.
So Bevell received some innovative offensive philosophy early and over-achieved with it.
… …
So I hope he can help Tua to over achieve!!!
AVG, Deiter, Wilkins, Gaskin, Tua, Jackson, Hunt, Davis, Jones, Ferguson, Waddle, Phillips, Holland, Eichenberg, Long
15 guys, and maybe a few others not listed, that should have a decent impact on this season, that’s enough current drafted youth, and more than we’ve had for a long time
Just say no to a trade up, the present and future look bright
Good point
That’s a lot of frontline players who are still very young.
I would even throw Brandon Jones, Needham, and Ingold in that list.
All of those players and Ahmed, P Williams, and Bowden are 4th year or younger players.
It’s awesome that 5th year guys like Baker, Gesicki, Sanders, and Smythe are seasoned veterans now. Edmonds, Seiler, and Connor Williams are also just 5th year players.
… …
We could build a dynasty here if we maneuver the 2022 and 2023 drafts just right.
We need an identity on O, will that be a running game, like SF has or will that be a short precise unstoppable passing game?
Whatever it is, we need something, that keeps opposing teams coaches up late trying to defend it
Once we get that identity, then we can talk about dynasty, and it all starts with the current players
Grier did explicitly say that they did not blow off the prep and went through scout meetings and brought players in for visits and attended pro days and the Combine, etc. etc. just like a normal year.
So I’m hoping that Grier knows want we need and knows what that looks like in a draftable player.
It helps that McDaniel came in with a very specific prototype player that he wanted, at least on offense, and then deferred to and praised the blueprint on defense.
So there should be no confusion.
Armstead and Morstead hmmm and Jenkins
I think it’s so weird that our 3 oldest players in years in the league
all started their careers with the Saints
and played there all together in 2013-2016.
Tua throwing 50 yards with a flip of the wrist
But he has a weak arm
Let’s see a frozen rope 50 yarder
How do you know it went 50?
They keep showing these throws and saying 50, 60, and 70 yards, but don’t show the yard lines
Long post, sorry. Here are the players I have found the team is interested in. I know I have missed a few, but these are players I know for sure we met. I was going to leave combine off as those were before we splashed into FA. You could see easily we were going to target WR and OL. Then, OT Armstead, OG Williams and WR Hill happened. I would mainly pay attention to the Private Visits, Private Workouts, Virtual Meetings and even the Private Pro Day Workout.
Looking at this list, it looks to me that they plan to stay put. Only players on here I could see them trading up a little for are OG/OC Cole Strange and OT Tyler Smith. The rest of these players (not counting Combine) have 3rd round (except OT Smith) or later grades.
Again, looking at this list, I believe we are taking a DB somewhere.
Another interesting thing was the team did a last-minute virtual meeting with DT/NT John Ridgeway this week when you would think their draft board would be done.
I think we will see 3 of our 4 picks come from this list. I also wouldn’t doubt a shocker of trading a future pick to take OT Tyler Smith in the 2nd round.

Yes that would be a good draft if we got those players.
At a crucial moment in the game, Hill
Runs right past the entire defensive backfield,
which is supposed to be the fastest players on the field.
one of my all time fave plays
Not only was the high five cool, that play broke the Raiders back, hope to see Hill and Waddle with a few this year
They should have a 3D hill in the locker room, named Waddle Hill and every time either gets a long touchdown move their character up the hill a notch (like a Price is Right game)
We have exercised 5th year option on Wilkins
Good deal!
thanks for the update …
jeez I certainly hope so … That should be a no brainer.
He’s been very good, a sack or 2 would be nice though
He had 5
He’s got 8 in 3 years, 4.5 last year, not enough where he was taken
Awesome!
Excellent!
And with their first round pick of the 2022 draft
The Dolphins select Tyreek Hill,
who is almost certain to win multiple Pro Bowls.
Jaylen Waddle on waiting for media availability to race Tyreek Hill. “You can’t just race a Cheetah. You’ve got to sneak up on him.”
Jaylen Waddle’s official Combine NFL comp was …
Tyreek Hill.
And with their 2nd round pick, the Dolphins select Terron Armstead who is predicted to win at least 3 pro bowls.
Yeah, I think we have done well so far in this draft. LOL
Wilkins is one of my favorites. He plays with passion. You can see he loves the game. You can’t have enough guys like him on the roster
^
He needs to tone the celebrations down a bit, especially the part where he makes contact with teammates
I’ll be getting up at 9.20 am to watch the broadcast here in the morning. Nearly 1am now. I don’t want to see any trades made at all. Pick up a shit load of UDFA instead, along withe 4 picks we have. Next year load up again on top level youngsters. Add talent when we can. Draft for BPA this year.
Or just go outside and watch the grass grow🤪
About to board my plane. Talk to everyone later
Kenny’s on a vacation far away, so many things…
safe travels Hulk
With no one in double digits for sacks last year and 48 total, close to tops in the league, it was very NEesque
With that kind of overall production it’s tough to stop
And we didn’t get a lot the first half, our D is pretty good in certain areas, when they’re aggressive and even played decent against Josh Allen for a change
Game 1
J. Allen
17-33, 179 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT
Game 2
J. Allen
29-42, 249 YDS, 2 TD
Sure neither Game was close, but it was lost on O
These are good details.
I do not think that Buff QB is invincible.
If we can score along with him, he can’t dominate us.
… …
We also need to minimize his scrambling yards.
DT/DE Matt Henningsen we brought in for a Private Visit reminds me a little of Zach Seiler.
I really like DT/NT John Ridgeway, 6’5 321. Dude is an animal. I just don’t see him as a BPA-Need at 102 or 124.
Going by the team visit list above, I’m thinking:
102 OG/OC Cole Strange
124 ILB/OLB Channing Tindall
224 CB Dedrick Mackey
247 EDGE Dominique Robinson
These pretzels are making me thirsty
Everybody get some Hill, Armstead, Mostert, Waddle, XHoward, Wilkins highlights to watch tonight while the other teams sweat over the likelihood of their picks being busts.
Wilkins had 4.5 sacks last season from an interior D line position. That is pretty good. Suh, only had three years with 8 or more sacks in his career. Most of his seasons he was in the 4,5,6 sack range.
70.5 sacks in 12 years. 5.875 sacks per year average.
Wilkins had more combined tackles last season than Suh ever had in a single season, He tied Suh for the most solo tackles in a season with 49 and was damn close in tackles for a loss to Suh’s yearly average.
SUH AVERAGE SALARY $19,062,500
Wilkins AVERAGE SALARY$3,859,775
I will take the 4-5 less QB hits per season for the $15M per year in salary!!
Wilkins is one of my favorite players and he should get way more recognition nationally than he does. He is one of the best DT’s in the game today.
Wilkins has been on a rookie contract though. He’ll be looking for a lot more after next season. Thinking maybe $10-12 mil.
Right
Wilkins is gonna cost us $ someday
No doubt we got the worth of his rookie contract though
He’ll be getting $10,753,000 in his 5th year so he’ll already be getting that range. If he continues to get better like he has been, he’ll get what you’re suggesting easily.
Plus I don’t ever remember seeing Suh block like a FB or catch a TD pass.
Wilkins also gets guys cranked up, and it’s good to get guys cranked up.
Bottom line is we don’t know what they do in the first 2 days of the draft. Wouldn’t be shocked if one of next year’s firsts gets thrown in this year’s fire. And the more likely move is a 2023 2nd or 3rd to pop up from the late third to grab whoever they have their eye on.
But even with that said, guessing we still remain stocked for next year.
This is from a guy who completely controls whether his team signs him or not
Put pen to paper and sign him or shut up about it Davis….
It would be quite interesting to see Kaep back in the league. I’m not advocating for it, and I’m glad it’s not us who are talking about it.
By the way, I agree with ya about Davis better sign him or not talk about it for the sake of publicity.
I don’t mind players, talking heads or fans talking about it
But an owner saying he deserves a chance?
The raiders backup qbs are not household name. If he think kaep deserves a chance we don’t need to hear him lament on it. That reeks of BS to appease some fans
Never trust a grown man with a bowl hair cut!
LOL

Lol
The ball stayed right between the blue and gold lines, and the receiver didn’t move more than a step, meaning the depth of the throw and the left right aim were both perfect.
I’m really enjoying these videos coming from @PER4ORM (Tua’s trainer). Tua certainly seems primed and ready to take the next big step.
Since we’re talking about shitting or getting off the pot, these traing video guys need to do the same, either show the yard line or STFU
Can Kaep play Special Teams?
… …
I mean no way Colin K could make our 53, he would be a distraction as a camp arm and would also need major individual coaching to get up to speed after being on the sofa for years, and he doesn’t qualify for PS, so … n/m …
He should qualify for PS covid version, that I think is still in effect
Bad Boys…Bad Boys, what you gonna do?
DAYUM! Where’s Chris Tucker for the official ruling?!!
Damn, them sunglasses on top of his head went flying like a drone!
They just need to say F’it and fry up that guy some gator nuggets and make him some gator boots with a matching wallet. lol
Daaamn, that is a wicked hook, lol. I wonder why police are handling that instead of animal control?
Wow….knocked one out with his head and slapped the shit out of the other with his tail out of the picture…lol. Guy in the middle was ok…lol.
Moral of the story?
I’ve watched it like 20 times. It gets funnier every time.
I hope Raiders do sign Kaeperdick. Then, it will be funny when they cut him.
That’s pretty much where I’m at when I say it would interesting to see him back in the league: watch him fall flat on his face when he couldn’t even beat out Blaine Gabbert last time he was around. That, and it should finally put to bed the entire story that he is or was good enough to stay in the league.
And like Mark Davis, Kaep needs to put up or shut up.
He did beat out Gabbert his last time around. He had a really good season on a bad team

That would be a very strong Draft, IMO. If Cole Strange falls to us, I’d jump all over him @ #102.
My final mock draft of the season.
Mic Drop:
R3 P38 C Cameron Jurgens – Nebraska
R4 P20 RB James Cook – Georgia
R7 P3 P Matt Araiza – San Diego State
R7 P26 S Trenton Thompson – San Diego State
Not my favorite, but that would work, too!
I absolutely LOVED the one you posted the other day!
There are so, so many ways to skin a cat… I could roll with most everybody’s mock drafts here.
Oh…
So if the G-Men don’t have confidence in Daniel Jones, perhaps they’d be willing to trade one of their 1st rounders this year to get an additional 1st rounder next year.
It all depends on how confident we are in Tua this year. As I said to Tim yesterday, IF we were to make a blockbuster trade to get into the early 1st tonight, the G-Men will be the ones.
I still don’t believe we’ll do it, but it’s something to watch for this evening.
We can get into the late first with some team. Have the 2023 ammo for it. Hope they don’t pay the premium to do it. Talking like a 1, 2 and 3 next year.
We are set at QB; not sure how this impacts us.
It’s not about QB for us, it’s about the G-Men are giving Daniel Jones this year only to figure it out. If they want a QB to replace him, this year isn’t the best year to do it. They may want to secure an additional 1st rounder next year to trade up for the best QB they can get… kind of the thought of us keeping 2 1st rounders next year should Tua flame out.
Should that be the case, perhaps the G-men would be willing to trade one of their 2 1st rounders this year to us, in exchange for one of our 2 1st rounders next year. Our target would likely be the OT (RT) position: Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu.
I wouldn’t do it!!!
What’s more, it’s going to take a LOT more than just a future 1st rounder to move up to trade with the G-Men.

If the right guy falls late into the 1st round or the early 2nd round (*ahem* Tyler Linderbaum), I could see Chris Grier trading up to take him.
NOT saying that I’d do it, but I could see Grier doing it.
Steve, it’s not that hard to tell if it’s 50 yards or not. Look at in groups of 10. It’s only 5 of those. 😉
right Tim, so it’s a soccer field first of all and they don’t have 10 yard lines, the 7 yard box is where he throws it from to just past midfield, that would be 50 yards on a 120 yard field
The optimum soccer field size is 75 yards wide by 120 yards long. But soccer fields can vary between 65-80 yards wide and 110-120 yards long.
I’m just using the eye test and the height and arch of the ball. We all know Tua can throw the ball 50+ so for me the discussion is silly. Tua’s strength is accuracy. When you think of him like a pitcher, he finds the strike zone over and over. He doesn’t throw 100mph but he puts it where he wants it.
I’d like to see the 70 throw where they show the yard line, to see that he can actually throw it that far, he’s thrown it 50+ in games, so that doesn’t matter, it does matter, if he can throw it 50 yards with the flick of his wrist like it appears he doing above
Oh okay, I see what you’re saying. One thing I have noticed is he’s done a lot of leg work the last two years. Most throws are from your legs, at least the deeper throws. Arm throwing QBs are usually not accurate. You have to use your core.
One of my very good friends (former Marine and G-Men fan) is in attendance for the NFL Draft tonight. I hope he has a GRAND time… but not too GRAND before the Draft begins, LOL.
I have the G-Men taking either of Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu, then Kayvon Thibodeaux.
Yeah I think it’s OT and Edge. We’ll see how the first 4 go.
Yup, those first 4 picks are going to set the tone for what the G-Men can do.
Hope he knows he has to register, he may have a draft package.
I just registered to get in tomorrow
Yup, he registered two weeks ago. His cousin helped him out.
Well we’ll finally know if we do anything tonight.
Not surprised Giants will move on from Jones. He sucks
I wonder if the Giants are going to take a QB
I wouldn’t at #5 or #7. The Giants are rebuilding. Start with the foundation on the LOS so when you do draft a rookie QB he has a chance to develop.
But they have a first year coach who is considered a QB guru so they make the classic mistake of starting a land war in Asia
LOL @ starting a land war in Asia
Donny Osmond is still alive? I wonder if he can hook me up with his sister.
She looks mighty nice in them commercials!
What time is draft?
8pm
5pm for you. LOL
Thanks Tim. Probably going over there tomorrow, tonight will be a circus. I may just park at my brothers or the Rio, just across the freeway from the strip
I am going to watch the draft at my favorite bar. My living room. lol
Perfect!
Maybe with the lack of high end talent in the draft it won’t take as much in a trade to get into the back half of the first. I see no need to trade up into the first but maybe getting into the second to get a guy maybe like Tyler Smith if he drops a little won’t be very painful.
Yeah I don’t think we’ll be trading into the first tonight. But I can see the 2nd tomorrow.
I figured I would go ahead and post the highlight video of our 1st round pick. Later in the video, when he is catching passes from Mahomes, I was surprised at how many of the deep passes were off the mark and/or underthrown.
That guy is fast, we should do whatever we have to do, to get him
BBM,
It actually benefits Hill when he has to adjust to passes because usually the DB isn’t tracking the ball. He’s too quick and fast for a DB to stick to him when he makes that adjustment, and it allows him to create space. A lot of his big plays are off that sort of situation.
Did you notice in the video that Mahomes only threw it about 20 yards to TH, maybe 10 beyond LOS, but TD pass for 60 yards plus? No good, didn’t throw it far enough…lmao
Did you notice the pass he threw for 57 air yards? The one where the ball got to Hill quick, like 2 seconds and not the 5 second hang time of Tua on his long passes
Seriously dude…hyperbole?
I don’t think a human can throw a ball with 5 second hang time…probably wrong on that but not many can I would think….I’m not going to look it up…lol
Obviously
First pick should be in, in about 40 minutes
I say Hutchinson
X
I agree with Steve in that some of Tua’s passes seem to take forever to get there. The thing is that I’ve also seen him put zip on passes, so he can do it. I think the type of offense we’ll be running will make it less important, but some of his passes certainly are more like lobs than ropes. The other thing is that hard passes tend to be harder balls to catch, so maybe Tua throws a more catchable ball because of it. I don’t know.
I think he’s trying to figure it out….needs time in the pocket..
find a comfort level
Dang I was hoping Hutchinson would drop to us.
Alright, how do the Jest fuck this up ?
G-Men get their pick of their best-rated OT.
At AL it was easy for Tua to lob it up to his receivers. What impressed me was the anticipation…
In college all his receivers were wide open and all they had to do was run under….ask Waddle.
G-men went DE first
WOW, G-Men… wow.
OL dropping 😊
Guys, I’m a little ashamed to admit this
But I just realized the draft is on…..lol
Well ya picked up on this one faster than most FFB drafts you are a part of 🤡
Is that the Nigerian flag on his suit. That’s pretty cool
I thought he was lobbying to be a Jest pick
If the G-Men don’t take Evan Neal, they are more messed up than Gettleman ever was.
How many of you are preparing your sauce jokes when Hill burns him all day?
GREAT DRAFT, G-MEN!!!
Agreed!
Sundays might suck for the jests, but at least they have practice
1st trade Saints on clock
BBMike would be proud
There he goes, BBMike!
And as predicted… between 11-19! 😉
wide receiver run wow

^^ This…except 45 minutes later, lol.
Absolutely un interested!
I really like Kyle Hamilton. Good pick, as usual, by the Ravens.
Agreed!
I guess Zion just gave the draftniks the finger!
Good pick
Redskins are taking over for the jets as the worst franchise, Jahan Dotson OMG
Dude doesn’t have Parker’s catch radius, but he does have his great separation
Heck of a draft for the eagles
Treylon Burks is like an immediate replacement for A.J. Brown for the Titans.
I hope the Stealers* draft my guy Malik Willis.
Kenny Pickett stays home.
Mitch Trubisky just threw up in his mouth a little bit.
Patriots now have all our picks from KC
Funny… the Packers almost desperately need to get a WR, yet most of the best are already off the baord.
I don’t think they have too. They always find them in the 2nd and 3rd. They still have #28 and I think Skyy Moore is the sleeper WR in this draft.
Fuck… Bills traded to get on the board right now.
So what, they were going to pick #25 anyway.
I’m guessing DB as they vaulted Dallas and Baltimore
Tim,
Man, I’m really surprised the Titans traded Brown. He is one of the best WRs in the league, and they say he’s a winner. I get the money, but the NFL is starting to sign WRs to huge contracts. I get the comp, but Brown is a proven commodity…this rookie ain’t. Curious move, to me. Maybe I just like Brown more than most. Maybe they just figure they don’t want to take on his contract. I don’t follow that stuff.
Agreed. I’m not comparing Burks to Brown yet on the NFL level, just a similar style player, big and physical.
Please, Dallas… don’t draft Linderbaum…
YES!
Kong,
Wild win another one! We lost one we shouldn’t have the other night. Now, we just need a point in our last game to get home ice. Huge win against Calgary.
Tim,
Yeah, I gotcha. I was just commenting on the trade. Teams are throwing money at even just good WRs. Brown is damn good. Teams sure are liking these rookie contracts these days. It has begun to feel like we are seeing more and more rookie WRs who come in and play pretty good right away. It’s too easy for the offense these days! Lol
FUCK!!!
Tyler Linderbaum to the Ravens
Well, at least he went to a team I like.
***
Ravens with a helluva nice first round if those guys play to their potential.
Since we don’t have early picks, I really don’t know many of these guys but a lot of WRs and OL went in the first this year. We’ve seen huge money for FA WRs so it makes a lot of sense to just get them cheap if you can. I’ll look more tomorrow at who are the winners of the first round but don’t really care too much.
Edge, OL, DB and WR dominated so far.
Wow
Oh SHIT, BBMike… Cole Strange to the Patsies*
1st round?
Did the Vikings trade down to #32 to take QB Malik Willis for that 5th year option contract?
1st round is officially over.
Vikes take a big hitting safety. Kinda reminds me of Reshad Jones. He’ll be fun to watch.
It’s a wrap and only one QB was drafted. Feel bad for Malik Willis, he dressed for the occasion and will fall to day 2.
Zero RB
5 of Georgia’s defensive players went 1st round and not Nakobe Dean.
Okay trading into the 2nd round just got cheaper. 😉
We should trade out of 102 and get a 2023 2nd
I don’t see that. The end of the traditional 3rd is #96. Our comp pick from SF is really an early 4th. I don’t see us getting anything of value next year for that pick. I would just take the BPA that makes sense at #102 or trade up.

How many of you are preparing your sauce jokes when Hill burns him all day?

Tim,
Man, I’m really surprised the Titans traded Brown.

Last year was a bad year to invest in a “star’s” WR jersey across the league I guess. The comments in this Tweet from Titan fans are more entertaining than anything that happened in last night’s draft. Almost makes me feel glad to be a Dolfan 😉
