Wow! How long has it been since I’ve posted an image of Dolphins vs any other NFL team? One day you’re sweating in your car in New Jersey with the A/C blasting because it’s nearly 100 degrees outside (most likely 130-140 degrees in the car), and the next, the Dolphins are playing their first preseason game. Unbelievable! If you’re like me, and know most of you are (at least in this regard), you can’t wait to see this team suited up and playing football again. You want to see the dynamic between Tua and Hill, you want to see if the offensive line is for real, after all the personnel changes and position changes. You want to see this defense performing like they’ve been together for a while (they have!). So what are some of the things I’m interested in seeing besides the obvious ones I’ve already outlined? I’ll tell you.
I know WR’s Cedrick Wilson and Preston Williams have been stuffed down the depth chart, and some fans have already written them off. I’d love to see a healthy dose of both of those guys. WR’s 6’5 225 who can run, and make contested catches don’t get discarded unless they have personal issues, injury issues, or both. Williams has had both, but his salary of $1.3M is totally palatable if he’s got his head on straight and he’s healthy. We brought in Cedrick Wilson from the Cowboys because he had a great season with the Cowboys playing the greater majority of snaps in the slot. Keep in mind that last year, we had our TE Mike Gesicki in the slot often but in McD’s offense, that likely won’t be the case, so Wilson Jr. has a good shot of seeing lots of playing time. He’s a veteran who knows how to run routes, find soft spots and make plays. I hope “EZ” Erik Ezukanma is as great as fans hope he is, but until the lights are on, don’t put him ahead of Wilson Jr. just yet.
The depth at DL will be tested somewhat with the release of DE Adam Butler, who did not pass his physical. Porter Gustin (formerly of the Browns), and Owen Carney Jr. a rookie out of Illinois are the backups behind Emmanuel Ogbah, who will probably be quite limited in his snaps for obvious reasons, so we’ll get a look at if what we have is sufficient, or if we need to address this with another FA pickup. In the offensive trenches, we’ll probably see a couple of plays (if that) of our starting O-line, which is LT Terron Armstead, LG Liam Eichenberg, C Connor Williams, RG Robert Hunt and RT Austin Jackson. Besides the surprise of Connor Williams at center, this how I expected our O-line to be from the get-go.
I don’t think preseason game 1 will reveal all that much, but I’m still interested to see which RB starts, who gets the most action and in what situations. Which back gets the short yardage carries, which back is in on 3rd down etc. To me, the most important thing is staying injury free. If you have bad game, fix it and do better next game, just don’t get hurt. I would like to see Noah Igbinoghene show something positive, anything really. Just give me a pass break up, an INT, a strong tackle or forced fumble, give me something. We all hope the new O-line doesn’t resemble last year’s line at all. I’m curious to see Teddy B and Skylar Thompson, who should both get lots of playing time. Oh yeah, I want to see our offense with a FULLBACK!!! I want to see Hunter Long make a bit of a splash, show us a lil sumpin’. Will Durham Smythe be the next top 10 balanced TE in the NFL? How will our ST’s look with so many big departures and new additions? Will Mostert be an electric returner and will Hill get some action back there too? Lots to see tomorrow at 7:30PM if you can watch it live, or Sunday, 8/14 at 7AM Eastern time on NFLN. Enjoy the game! Football is BACK baby!!!
#stangerstrong
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Glad to see Cedrick Wilson Jr. looking sharp.
Yes! I guess being the #3 WR with Hill and Waddle, it’s hard to stand out in practice unless neither of them are on the field. Nice problem to have.
Haven’t seen Tindall yet, about 8 minutes left in the first half
There are actual comma usage rules, and there aren’t so many that you can’t remember them.
The one above is for joining 2 sentences with *and* *xxx*.
Current style is to not make compound sentences at all,
as if they’re ceased to reflect human communication.
Still, it’s the biggest rule for commas of all of them.
Naples …here we seem to be making shorter sentences. The whole grammar thing is so different these days to when we went to school. I think we’re around the same age. It’s a whole new world now.
Naples, I meant to ask. You played basketball for Middleton? I remember them being a powerhouse in the 70’s and winning a few championships. Of course, that was after you attended, I think.
I played for St. Andrew’s high. Middleton hs was my junior high school, but my little brother was a star for their first 2 teams, going 32-0 his senior year.
Great preseason game. Team showed moxy to come from behind twice to come from behind twice.
Hope to see more of ZQ White next game.
As far as I could see, we only gave away 2 of our real plays.
The short pitch to Ced Wilson was one, although it will be Hill with the ball.
I agree with Tim. #53 Cameron Goode really stood out to me last night. I didn’t hear Tindall’s name called once. That does not mean he didn’t play well though. Goode looks like a player who we definitely bring back on the PS and possibly gets brought up on the 53 during the season if there are injuries. He seems really solid and has a nonstop motor.
I saw Tindall in on a tackle around the 9 minute mark if the 3rd quarter. I saw Cameron Goode a bit earlier just kind of stuffing himself into a pile and then the RB escaped. I’ll keep my eye on both
I’m hoping for a shit ton of wheel routes this year!!!!
Brings back Rathman memories / nightmares!
Just saw Goode clean up someone’s missed tackle
Hate that I can’t hear the questions.
Saw Tindall get wiped out on a change of direction play, started one way, then cut back all the way back the other way. He was kind of just running along in pursuit when an O-linemen found him and pushed him like he was a little kid.
“Tagovailoa’s NFL MVP odds were first displayed at 175/1, yet he’s since swung to his current standing of 75/1,” Meyer wrote. “The lefty quarterback ranks 12th in tickets for MVP at 2.4%, and 13th in handle at 2.8%. He’s received two $1,000 bets to collect the hardware at 75/1 odds, one from a Nevada bettor and the other from an Indiana bettor.
“Over the past two weeks, Tagovailoa has been an especially popular MVP bet. The only players who have received more money in this market over that span are Trey Lance, Derek Carr, Josh Allen and Justin Herbert. Overall, Tagovailoa has drawn more MVP bets than Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray and Matt Stafford. He’s also been a sleeper pick to finish with the NFL’s most passing yards (40/1), as he’s 10th in tickets (2.5%) and 15th in handle (1.3%).”
This is like totally foreign to me.
I can analyse enough to see a little football, though, so thanks to Ken.
One of the things we don’t see. From coach MM:
(On seeing poise from QB Skylar Thompson and him running the offense as a rookie) – “That was one of my favorite parts. At the beginning of the game, I thought the operation looked slow. They were trying to get the play in pretty fast and I don’t know what he was saying exactly in the huddle, but it was just taking a long time to get them lined up. I took the opportunity to tell him, “Hey dude, you need to get the guys in and out of the huddle.” He was able to adjust that – he did better with that while also taking each play, one play at a time. That was an encouraging thing you don’t know until it’s real. There’s a lot of rookies out there that I think felt more rookie feelings than he did, and he touches the ball every play. I’m happy with that. There is a lot to get better from, but he’s a stud. We are happy to have him.”
Tindall makes the open field tackle at 14:35 in the 4th.
EZ with a nice run after the catch
Skyler money throw to Sanu
I thought Tindall looked like he was accustomed to playing with mates
who are a level or 2 above the guys we put him out there with. (Alabama)
Pretty sure a couple times he was shocked that nobody showed up to make the play, as he was used to. He needs to cut loose like van ginkel does and make the play himself.
… …
He was caught by surprise, though, at the speed at which the pro game moves.
Looked like he was thinking, “I’ll just run over there and get that guy,” but he got cut off, knocked down from the side, or shoved into an arc that took him out of the play.
But he was reading his cues right … mostly.
He was going in the right direction.
He just needs to twitch and run instead of dance and jog.
Sanu’s play may make Preston Williams superfluous.
Bowden played himself back in the WR queue.
Hill, Waddle, Wilson, Ezukanma, Sanu, Bowden is my 6 WR set right now,
but Sherfield needs a roster spot sooo …
8:31 PM Last Night;
BBM: “We barely have a starting caliber OL and certainly don’t have a backup OL.”
8:33 PM
mf13ss: “EXACTLY.”
8:37 PM
herdfan: “I guess Ineed to do some preseason laundry!”
8:59 PM
BBM notices Miami has just 3 yards rushing in the first half!!!
————————————————————————————————————————-
TIME to fire Greer and shake-up a Front Office that, for over a decade, has utterly FAILED to produce an NFL above average O-Line in ANY ONE OF THOSE YEARS!! Please note this IS NOT a knee-jerk reaction. Many Dolphin fans have been patient with our O-Line failures. LOOK WHAT IT HAS GOTTEN US!!! Fired head coaches and NO PLAYOFF VICTORIES, that’s what!!
WHEN (not IF) Ross’s daughter takes over the team, Greer and his fellow FO failed employees need to be fired and replaced!!
To some “Patience is a virtue.”
NOT TO ME.
In this case, Patience has led to MORE FAILURES!!
DUHHHHHHH!!!
On the early sack of Skylar, I think it was the 7th round pick who might’ve never yet played a snap in the NFL trying to block a known talented pass rusher in iso on the edge. He had him stopped, but Skylar stepped up right into the sack, so his unawareness as a rookie contributed to that sack.
This
gloom dispair and agony on me
Someone asked to see Bowdens move
good double move … just a simple stop and go, but Bowden is so smooth it doesn’t look like he’s doing anything till he’s already beat you.
From PFF
OFFENSIVE LINE
Solomon Kindley did his best to vie for a starting guard spot, as he didn’t allow a single pressure across 23 pass-blocking snaps.
Former first-rounder Austin Jackson was only on the field for eight pass-blocking snaps and didn’t allow any pressures on the day.
I didn’t even notice that Kindley was in the game. Probably a good thing.
Naples – I didn’t think Bowden looked that great. I know he caught the TD, that was a blown coverage. One thing I noticed is everyone lauds his size and ability to run after the catch and I saw absolutely none of that. I don’t think he has anywhere near the talent of Deebo Samuel
I’m not tooting Bowdens horn, but he broe that MF’s ankles!
Not a blown coverage!
yeah his man thought he was tight, and Bowden was gone.
Actually, same thing on the long catch, not as dramatic, but that is what he’s good at is slipping quietly into a very disadvantageous leverage for the DB.
I thought Bowden looked pretty good
Dishonorable Mention – Miami’s rushing offense
24 yards on 13 carries by Miami’s running backs certainly needs to be called-out here. For an offense that is predicated on running the ball well, this will certainly need to be cleaned up as we approach the regular season. Having Terron Armstead and Connor Williams on the offensive line should help, however.
This is what I was most disappointed with.
LOL @ there aren’t so many comma rules you can remember them. If you’re an elephant or Devil’s Advocate maybe…
Here are just a few comma rules:
Click to access Basic%20Rules%20of%20Grammar%20WORD%202003%20Document.pdf
And, as a bonus, the first example shows a list where omitting the Oxford comma changes the meaning of the sentence. (Admittedly, this is a pretty rare occurrence, and I actually get why most people omit the Oxford, lol, I was just busting Rock’s balls the other day.)
The list stops at 21 and barely scratches the surface of how many modifiers there are for comma usage. An example of a modifier would be the rule Naples’ mentions above of two separate strong clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction. In this case you use a comma…unless the clauses are short, then, it’s generally considered good grammar to omit the comma.
For me, I know about 3 or 4 rules pretty well and mostly just use the method Uwant mentioned- if I pause, I add a comma, because screw commas.
When I have to write a paper where it matters, I use a flippin grammar checker, lol.
There were three consecutive plays in the second quarter that told me everything I need to know about No-ah eggmahogany. Starting at 14:48 in the second. Three play showed me he doesn’t want to play and I do not want him on the team.
I don’t think he makes the team
First round pick doesn’t even play out his first contract that is definitely a bust
Elijah Campbell embarrassed by missing an open field tackle
The tackling was my biggest concern on defense. We know guys like Iggy aren’t going to be out there much, if at all, in the reg season, so we don’t have to worry too much there.
But we missed a lot of tackles. I guess you kind of expect that in preseason game one, I hope it’s better next game.
well
Very few take aways from last night’s game. Mostly 2nd and 3rd stringers versus the same on the other side. No game planning so the lack of a running game really doesn’t mean much at this point. The biggest take away is that we are likely to keep 3 QBs this season
Thompson looked good for a rookie seeing his first action.
The trill injury really sucks. He appeared to be biting whereas egg mahogany has no awareness at all and very little desire to put his nose in there.
Iggy’s only chance of making the team
It used to be the 3rd game was the dress rehearsal and game 4 was a throwaway. I wonder if anything changes now that there are only 3 games. I figure we’ll probably see the starters for a couple of series in game 2, and game 3 will still be the dress rehearsal.
I kind of wish they started the preseason a week later and we didn’t have that week between the last preseason game and the start of the reg season.
Based on last year game 2 is now the most important preseason game and game 3 is a throwaway
Ahh, I couldn’t remember how it went down last year. Wow, so the starters go 3 full weeks without any live game play, only practice.
Elijah Campbell redeems himself with an ankle interception
I loved everything about the touchdown after the interception I love that we went straight for the end zone I love Bowden’s route and the pass from Thomson but I especially love that we went for the killer instinct strike
In the neck!
Punch in the throat?
Brutal now step on it while he is down
Last year, our offense would have played conservative to secure the 3 points and take down the clock.
Well he had some fans here
Fumble scoop score Sam Eguavoen
That is a really nice three minutes of football at the end of the second 1/4
Tanner Conner looking really good as a gunner on special teams too. First guy to the returner on a couple of plays so far.
#9 out here strolling around WTF !!??
I hope they cut him today.
No effort 🤡. Number 9
We had one nice run in the third quarter by Gaskin.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sgF-dUxTDrE
Reach for the Skylar
LOL, there is always a SP clip that fits the moment. My wife and I can have whole conversations in South Park quotes.
Cethan Carter
Played a lot of fullback last night
Yeah, and Skylar Thompson played a lot of QB too
They booed Phil Collins off the stage.
LOL
Glad finally got to see the new run-heavy approach everyone has been talking about.
Teddy Bridgewater is on a one-year contract. If Skylar continues to prove worthy, worse things than having a solid #2 on the cheap.
welp
Damn, that suuucks

McDaniel lauds the way Trill Williams worked this offseason and the plays he made in camp. Said he was a guy that worked his butt off to make noise in that crowded CB room.

Coach says that with Liam, Austin and Rob, on their 13 snaps they probably had 10 pluses each and the 3 negative are things that they’ve previously done correctly in practice. It’s a good chance to watch tape + reinforce his philosophy that games and practice should be the same.

Coach refers to the salty side of Rowe — a term the team had coined for Eric Rowe and a mindset he’s adopted in his versatile role in this Miami defense.

On Teddy: he had a little back tightness on the practice day but it wasn’t anything major. We saw it as an opportunity to get Skylar some reps in practice, and then Skylar’s ability to handle those reps, we kinda just got thinking: here’s an opportunity you don’t generally get.
I’m glad he’s happy with all the plusses Liam, Austin and Rob got. Having watched the game, how many were on runs?
Rock — and when you play Revolution #9 backwards there might be a message for Iggy as well.
“I am a professional football player. So we had a game to play today and it was time to play…. I love football. So I’m happy to play.”
— Gesicki on not being one of the 23 who didn’t suit up for the game.

🤣
Is Trill Williams done for the year?
Torn ACL makes it seem so. In the past that would be a career-ender, but the medical procedures are a whole lot better now. Depends on how bad, but chances are he’s back at some camp next year.
Damn that sucks. On the play he got hurt he blew it up like rocket.
There are at least 10 good veteran CBs out there unsigned. With Iggy not cutting it, Byron hurt, and Trill gone, maybe we need to sign a real player at CB.
I think Hill is expected to be ready at the start of the season. I thought some other corners played competitively last night.
I meant Jones.

#Dolphins third-round rookie Channing Tindall had an impressive opener last night
– 25 snaps
– 86.9 overall grade (2nd on defense)
– 2 stops
– targeted twice in coverage, allowed just 5 yards
He was somewhat quiet but he didn’t stand out as bad either.
He flashed in my eyes at least. Hard to miss that pursuit speed…. and he can tackle.

McDaniel took blame for the touchdown pass to Darden in which Noah Igbinoghene and Brandon Jones were in near coverage. Said the defense hadn’t gotten enough reps in that situation and called it a learning experience.

Amid the concerns about Miami not getting the run game going last night, Coach McDaniel’s words hold true on the dynamics. Tampa often put 10 guys inside of 5-6 yards of the LOS & played C-1 man or C-3; lotta 8-man boxes…plus Miami working condensed formations.
Why were they game planning us in the first preseason game?
They saw our offense up close and were very afraid.
???????
Sensitive content must be Gisiki blocking
We could get a Desmond Trufant level player.

wrong link above
https://dolphinswire.usatoday.com/gallery/dolphins-free-agent-cbs-trill-williams-injury/
We could get Janoris Jenkins, Josh Norman, Trae Waynes, Xavier Rhodes, AJ Bouye.
Just don’t get Vernon Hargreaves.
Maybe we do something like that.
Rowe can play it, but not well. Why let that weak link cost us a game or two? That’s how you miss the playoffs.
Somebody tweeted “If Mike McD’s scheme can make Skylar look that good, imagine what he can do with Tua, Hill, and Waddle in the game.”
He threw a perfect game (no fumbles or INTs, at least one TD pass, a victory, positive scrambling yardage, spread the ball around, be a general on the field who gets everybody lined up.)
He had a good debut.
Wyoming, yes, I was one of a couple who wanted us to draft Cam Jurgens at center. He is athletic and plays with a mean streak. I picked him in about 300 of my 350 mock drafts. lol
ok
Just realized I hadn’t done an August mock. lol
26. Isaiah Foskey EDGE Notre Dame
47. Ricky Stromberg OC Arkansas
77. Jack Campbell LB Iowa
79. Tyrique Stevenson CB Miami (FL)
147. Jaxson Kirkland OT Washington
164. PJ Mustipher DT Penn State
171. Tykee Smith S Georgia
What no 1st rd QB ?? 🤡
First Adam Butler, now Trill Williams (that SUCKS). I suppose it could be a LOT worse, but our Defensive depth has taken a hit… and I already would have liked to see better depth on the O-Line.
Cuts are coming soon, and there may be a few guys on other teams who get cut who we had very high grades on… not to mention a few BIG NAME surprise cuts. I’d advise waiting it out before signing a FA(s) to replace so soon. And if the CBA regarding FAs is the same as it’s been for a while now, after week 2 of the regular season, no contract has to come with guaranteed $$$.
Not sure I like the current class of FAs out there at CB… we could go younger with far more upside.
maybe it’ a 4 way race?
That’s great to hear. Now hopefully, Iggy will play with urgency and less conservatively in PSG2 after Coach McDaniel’s advice.
AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, the FBI raided Trump’s residence Friday Night and came away with a large number of documents from the Mar-A-Largo estate. I wonder if any of those documents involve Trump’s dealings with Steve Ross??? Trump and Ross were partners in the New Jersey Generals ownership group way back in the day. Their star player,Herschel Walker, is running a not-so-good race against the Democratic incumbent, Reverend Warnock, in the Georgia U.S. Senate contest. Hopefully, Ross has had enough sense to steer clear of this situation.
OUT for tonight.
I don’t think that would rise to the level of national security
PFF has an article about bold predictions . . .
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-bold-predictions-every-nfl-team-2022-nfl-season
I find it humorous that PFF thinks Melvin Ingram is going to lead the Dolphins in sacks. He hasn’t had double digit sacks (10.5) since 2017 when he played 85% of the defensive snaps. In 2015 he also had 10.5 in 2015 when he played 96% of the snaps. I’d be surprised if he plays near 50% of the snaps, and Ogbah and Phillips should both have more sacks than Ingram in my opinion. BTW, love their other predictions for the Dolphins though.
These two are great to start with
These are great to begin with
The Dolphins’ offensive line ranks top half of the NFL
Patriots’ Mac Jones doesn’t improve in Year 2
That’s why they call it a bold prediction, but he does have a little theory, that makes a little sense
Ingram’s pressure rate was high last year, add to that how our D is in coverage, giving opportunities for coverage sacks, and some of his pressures turn into sacks
I just don’t think he’ll be I position to get that many, because this D is predicated on team sacks
I like the first two Pats predictions too.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
1. This will be the worst defense Belichick has ever had
2. Mac Jones doesn’t improve in Year 2
I was hoping for a more veteran solution.
I guess I spoke too soon on our CB cup overflowing. I can’t believe you haven’t given me any shyte for that yet, lol.
I did ask the football gods to ignore you……
Spiteful gods that they are they decided that it would be funnier to slip you the ol’ high hard one.
THANKS KONG
LOL
I’m sending Trill a nice fruit basket in apology.
Consider this ape chagrined and the lesson learned…
Thankfully, we’re not the fanbase that has to endure this…
I mean we are looking for a backup (as long as Jones is able to come off PUP) but I want BETTER players!
I have seen nothing that Jones is going to be out long term.
Look away football gods! Look away!
Foolish mortal! DO NOT TEMP THEM!
Oh yeah I forgot about that
The axman cometh
When discussing the Deshaun Watson situation with people I can always tell when I am discussing it with a guy how goes for rub and tugs. They are so defensive of him…..
On the downside, our running game was less than stellar, but on the upside, our third string QB got us the dub.
On the downside, we lost a very promising (and possibly starting) CB, but on the upside, assuming a full recovery, we’ll replace him this year and next year, he’ll be like another draft pick but with a year of experience watching and learning about our D.
I guess it depends on what is up MM’s sleeve, but looks like MG, LBJ and PW all had for sale stickers on them but LBJ may have a lot of value in MM’s offense after all? From Poupart: Lynn Bowden Jr. played only eight snaps on offense. We mention that because Bowden was among the most productive players on offense and one would have thought he was on the field a lot more. No, he just maximized his snaps. On those eight snaps, Bowden was targeted four times, catching three passes for 55 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown and a 29-yard reception early in the second half.
They took Skylar and Gaskin’s runs out of the stats and we were at a 0.66 ypc in the 4th Q I think it was. The threat of the run is certainly opening up play action though, as Baldy breaks it down below. OL problems? He doesn’t sound worried. I still am.
https://twitter.com/BaldyNFL/status/1558911256848908290
Good to see Tua being wrapped in cotton wool by his new boss too!
🤣

That could help you pick up chicks.
And here’s one for Phindog to practice before the Fest. He may need an octopus to accompany?
Be a good one for MM to show the Fins this – team work makes the dream work!
ok
So, from what I read over the weekend, it looks like Watson will get at least a year suspension. Why are they wasting snaps on him in the preseason? Better get Brissett up and ready for the season now!
I think it’s to get ‘fans’ used to the idea of him playing again, get the chanting ‘you sick f*ck’ out of the way for when he is finished with the suspension— that will be behind him.
I don’t care if any of you have an issue of my comma placement. I used some dashes too. I was feeling fancy today.
I forget who it was, but a posted on here had a man crush on Mackensie Alexander before he was drafted.
Lol at rub and tugs Rock
Had a guy at work get worked up and mad at me about it. Started saying I was a liar when I said I have never had a “happy ending”. I’ve only ever had one professional message and there was no happy ending.
Apparently it is “perfectly normal” for a guy to get a message and request a happy ending. SMH
Not the way I was raised it isn’t.
good stuff
So Williams and Armstead don’t play, Deiter, Jackson, Hunt and Eichenberg play 13 snaps and we already know the rest of the OL guys outside of maybe Kindley aren’t very good
Did we really expect to have much of a running game against a good run D, with the guys we had playing? Plus TB was playing a lot if guys in the box
In SF a lot of their run game was deception, which you won’t see much of in PS
On the bright side Jackson apparently looked good
I do however expect to be more of a passing team, because that’s more of a strength, may take some time to get the running game going
Good points.
However, Tampa played their backups too, so a lot of the plays were their backups dominating our backups.
That can happen with 10 in the box
They basically said beat us with your passing game and your 3rd string QB. So we did. Thompson completed 20 of 28 passes for 218 yards and finished with a 106.0 passer rating. He also had a 21-yard scramble in the second half.
Not too shabby at all. If he even gets to be a no. 2 with the draft pick we used to get him that’s a home run!
First roster cut needs to occur by 4pm tomorrow. Williams probably going on IR. We have 89 on the roster, who will be the first 3 cut?
I’m going to go with these three
Adam Shaheen
Cole Banwart
John Lovett
hmmmmmm
Eichenberg and Jackson looked good enough, Coleman just isn’t ready yet, gave up a sack in the video
OL needs to gel, but Tampa had a lot of guys on the line, so you give up the passing game to stop the run is OK with me
We could use one of them there CB’s
Rock, not sure who the Mackensie Alexander homer was. I remember selecting him in quite a few mock drafts but wasn’t a homer.
We drafted X instead, so it worked out well.
that’s right, I forgot they were in the same draft.
Was it Pig who was big on Mack Alexander?
My guys were William Jackson III and Kevin Byard that year.
I think you could be right.
Both those would have been nice.
I think that year I was mocking Alexander and Jackson III most of the time.
TBH, I don’t think I mocked X to us not once that draft. lol
I definitely slept on X… most embarrassing!
I went back and looked at our 2016 draft.
We took WR Leonte Carroo in the 3rd at pick #86 and passed on a lot of good players.
Tyreek Hill went in the last half of the 5th round that year at #165 and we got Jakeem Grant in the 6th at pick # 186. I would bet Hill was on our radar.
We didn’t have any 4th or 5th round picks that year.
Well, one can see why he is a free agent at this time.
Alexander, who played at Immokalee High near West Palm Beach, remains unsigned after being an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
He played five of his first six seasons with the Vikings, returning to Minnesota on a one-year contract in 2021 after one season with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Alexander, who has started 25 games in his six NFL seasons, struggled in 2021 based on his Pro Football Reference metrics, allowing a 119.2 passer rating when targeted. His numbers in that category were much more impressive the previous three seasons — 82.1 in 2018, 84.3 in 2019 and 82.3 in 2020.
Herd – you got mail (assuming you are on the same email addy)?
This play from Ben Stille looked wicked. He sheds the guard and then pancakes the tackle. NICE
Thanks
But who is going to find out? Unless the player or a disgruntled employee rats you out
I’d bet tampering happens a lot and I’d bet this isn’t the first time Ross did it
Leading back to my theory that, if we didn’t have the Flores investigation, we wouldn’t have been penalized for tampering, and that’s including the NFL having all the same info as if nothing came from Flores
Looks like they signed Mack
Hope he does better than a 119 passer rating in his coverage area this season!
Has to be better than Iggy
NOICE!
Definite bright spot. Not sure about that helmet though. I’m sure the trainers have a cream that can clear that right up…
Yes they did
Seems the coaches were going “We need more than just Iggy” as well.
Hope he came very cheap.
As I said yesterday, I didn’t particularly like ANY of the FA CBs that were still out there.

Steve, I agree with ya 100% on this, man.
