So far, two “unofficial” moves have affected the Miami Dolphins. The first “unofficial” move was the retirement of QB Tom Brady, which “unofficially” puts the Brady to Miami rumors to bed. It was also reported, perhaps prematurely by NFL reporter Tom Pelissero that the Dolphins had agreed to a contract with Vic Fangio, despite the fact the contract wasn’t actually signed by Fangio. Later in the week, there were reports Fangio was talking to both Denver, where new HC Sean Payton resides and also San Francisco, where the DC job opened up when former SF DC DeMeco Ryans left to become the Head Coach of the Houston Texans, who Ryans played MLB for 6 seasons. Both jobs are without question strong opportunities, but ultimately, it appears for the moment that Vic Fangio has chosen the Miami Dolphins and will officially sign after Super Bowl 57, or for you Romans, LVII.
Well, the Brady news is clearly just a matter of timing for Tom Brady, who was a great NFL QB, he might as well be a great promoter for his upcoming movie, in which Tom Brady is the producer, and the release date will be February 3rd. What fantastic timing!!! He’s good!!! Of course, Brady can “un-retire” at the drop of a hat, he’s done it before, and until I don’t see #12 on an NFL roster this season, I don’t give any more credence to this retirement. In any case, at least temporarily, Miami Dolphins can look forward to a healthy Tua Tagovailoa, who incidentally was cleared from concussion protocol February 1st, to be their starting QB. In case you were wondering, Tua is neither a producer or actor in the film.
Running with the assumption that Fangio will be our defensive coordinator, it will be interesting to see how we shape the defensive roster both in free agency, where we will be hamstrung money wise, and the draft, where we unfortunately lost our 1st RD pick due to “The Meddler”. The other 1st RD pick was traded for WR Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins hold 5 draft picks, one second round pick (#51), two 3rd RD picks (#78) and (#84), a sixth round pick (#164) and finally a 7th RD pick (#216). There will probably be a few contracts restructured in order to free up some cap space this season which will help in free agency, but I don’t foresee us being top spenders, we can’t afford it. Obvious needs are CB, RB, TE and after that, I guess it depends on what Fangio thinks of the current roster. He has to be happy to be inheriting Christian Wilkins, Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Zach Sieler and Jevon Holland. I’m sure he hopes that Brandon Jones, Emmanuel Ogbah and Xavien Howard can all return to their former level of talent and come in healthy in ’23. Elandon Roberts had a very strong season in ’22, and actually fits the Fangio prototype at MLB, a stout run stuffer with a little sand in his pants. Despite being a little lighter, #55 who always does a yeoman’s job each and every season, we’ll see if he fits what Fangio likes, as well as last year’s first pick in RD 3, Channing Tindall. Hopefully he can work with both of them. The last item is if there’s any avenue in which CB Byron Jones can return to the team. It seems doubtful, but a healthy Byron Jones is better than most of the guys on our roster. Stay tuned!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

So we’re starting over at box LB? Move on from Baker and it’s only Tindall and Goode on the roster. Yikes!!!
————-
RE-SIGN ELANDON ROBERTS!!!
Like I’ve consistently stated, it’s all up to Vic Fangio. Maybe Baker is exactly who he wants on his Defense.
Just looking at the salary cap ramifications incoming over this year and next.
Why would anyone cut Jerome Baker? He can play on my team any day. He’s in his prime entering his 6th season. He’ll be 27 years old next Christmas.
I liked Sarah Huckabee Sanders response to the State of the Union. I thought she was right on about what’s important to the Democratic party. On that same token, I’m embarrassed to have Lauren Boebert and Marjory Taylor Greene feeling the same way. Those two should do a Thelma and Louise and drive off a fucking cliff!
They represent their districts….
Don’t forget the freak show on the Democratic side. How about that yeller dress? The differences in parties is easy to see, it’s comical.
they represent THEIR districts too.
Mine was not a partisan shot.
I am amused constantly by partisans calling out partisanship. It has become knee-jerk to the point where people look foolish. I roll my eyes at the people on this board all the time.
THEY THEY THEY say the hypocrites
Did you mean republican party?
She was spot on with what she said
I couldn’t listen to Liden, was just watching a little with no sound, waiting on SHS, the facial expressions were typical of when he’s blowing smoke out of his ass, that no one believes
McCarthy’s facial expressions were hysterical
The Miami Dolphins have a window and it’s 2023-2024. Vic Fangio wouldn’t have signed on as DC if he thought it was a lost cause.
Reply
“Windows” SHM
again, good franchises do not blow their load on a window and then because of poor planning (going for a window) slip back into being a bad franchise because they blew their load shooting for a window. Run the team right and that “window” will be decades long. Do as you suggest and you are rebuilding in 3 years. again.
Rams are a perfect example of that, trading away all of those 1st rd picks
Denver seems to be going down the same path with no apparent SB in their future, 49ers too, but their present/future is bright
We have 3 teams, that have seemed to have or are mortgaging the future with 3 different results
Rock – I took shots at both sides. Is that really partisan?
Doubt he’s talking about you, he partisanly takes his shots too
No, but you immediately had a knee jerk reaction like I was defending the Dems. I was not. WHAT ABOUTISM right out of your mouth.
Why do we even have a state of the union, we all get the info online
The party in power just writes up some BS, with fudged numbers or straight out lies, that’s easily debunked
I suppose there’s still the 30% that will believe anything
If you believe what SHS said any more than you believe what the crypt keeper said then you are too far gone down the partisan rabbit hole to discuss anything with. Your second sentence was spot on.
Just for shits and giggles, what did SHS say that was BS?
She’s going to setup school for choice in AR?
We have fentanyl coming in across the southern border at record levels?
The border isn’t secure and more people crossed illegally last year, than ever before?
MS 13 is making billions on border crossings?
Hardly the same as Liden
The problem with that statement is one side has the media, FBI, DOJ, big tech, and the elites in their pocket, so they really don’t have anyone to be held accountable to
You could say with the house now in GOP majority, they may be held accountable to them, but we’ve seen this before

Why do we even have a state of the union
——————-
Because it is in the Constitution. It is a constitutionally mandated duty of the President
The formal basis for the State of the Union Address is from the U.S. Constitution:
The President “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” Article II, Section 3, Clause 1.
Wow! That’s was literal
He almost sounds like lawyer or something
Barry Jackson
@flasportsbuzz
Dolphins are hiring Butch Barry as new OL coach, per league source. Was Denver OL coach last year. Has worked in SF, Green Bay, Tampa, UM. Replaces Matt Applebaum
McDaniel worked with him in SF so he at least knows the system we run.
Yeah- I don’t know much about him but that’s what I figured
I don’t know much about him either.
I should clarify- by “I don’t know much”, I mean I don’t know anything
Here’s something I’ve been hoping for, for years, if it can be put in as a stand alone bill I’m all for it
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-02-08/junk-fees-explained-what-s-the-prevention-act-from-biden-s-state-of-the-union
State of the Union speeches are often humorous to me. The president talks about how good he’s done but there is more work to do. They throw in a few feel good stories with special quests. It’s the same thing every time no matter who the president is.
Rock – Personally, I don’t get the dislike for whatabouts anyway. I think it’s a necessary tool sometimes for comparison in a discussion
When it comes to politics, we as citizens should never just roll with our own personal beliefs but what is good for all of the people. I know that sounds utopian but at some point people need to get past this divide we have and start working together to make this country the best it can be for everyone. Right now nothing really gets done because everyone fights each other on everything. That’s why I believe less government is better. The less they do the less chance they have at screwing people over.
No question less govt is better
The problem right now is the govt spends way too much money and the answer to everything is let’s throw more money at it
What about Ian is kind of the equivalent of 2 wrongs make a right. Where I agree with Rock is that the bad behavior of one party doesn’t justify the bad behavior of the other party
What about ism^ not Ian
The problem lies with the hypocritical left doing it, then doesn’t want the right doing it. You set the standard you live by the rule
True 2 wrongs don’t make a right, but when you’re warned what is going to happen when the roles are reversed doesn’t hit home…
Exactly and people who are hardcore about their political affiliation turn a blind eye to the wrongs of their party and do exactly that, tit for tat, what about what your party did etc.
I posted about this the other day. If a politician did something corrupt or has a bad idea on policy, call them out regardless of where you stand. Corruption and bad ideas are not good for anyone. We the people are supposed to hold our government officials and representatives accountable.
Whatabouts doesn’t fit their narrative
Take the removal of Republicans from last Congress, now this Congress the standard was set, so they removed dems, but AOC and every other far left looney was up in arms
They don’t like what’s good for the goose
Lmfao…clueless
When either sides bickers about such things it’s because it slows down their agendas.
There are people on the right that want this country to go back to traditional American values and much of the time that’s about Judeo-Christian values. That’s not for everyone.
There are people on the left that want to eradicate those values that many people hold dear. The thing about America that is great is that there are communities all across the country that are known to be more religious and some are more liberal and less restrictive about different lifestyles. We have options to live the way we want to. When an agenda becomes national you’re already violating the rights of others.
You don’t go to Key West and try to tell everyone to start being more conservative. Just like you don’t go to Mississippi and tell them you have to be more open minded and accept anything even if it’s against your beliefs. Socialize with who you choose to socialize with. Even if a specific community was where you were born and raised, you have options to move to a place that better suits you. People do that all the time. Stop trying to tell everyone what they must believe in.
Nice TK…it’s too bad you have to explain it….lol
Anyone know what the cap hit is if we cut Cedric Wilson? The dude is a complete bust. I said it last year, but Juju would be a great fit for this offense. He can do it all, including being an excellent blocker. He’s going to want a long term deal though.
$7M in dead cap. I’m not a big fan of Juju though. He’s solid but I don’t think he’s worth a big deal. I’d rather re-sign Sherfield and hope Ezukanma can take the next step.
He’s not going anywhere. I think Sherfield is what he is at this point, and the guy whose name I’m not going to spell barely saw the field last season, much less was active . Not a great sign in todays NFL when a lot of WRs can contribute SOMETHING. In their first year. Maybe he just has a steeper learning curve, the way it used to be. I don’t think Juju will get huge dollars, but he will get paid
IMO…whataboutism is all about comparing apples to oranges. Context is vital to understanding the moment in real life.
On a legal level, typically context is limited to law or precedence to provide some form of justice unless you have money…lol.
Oh well.
I can see why you’d say that
You are the first to point fingers…I can see why you don’t get it…lol
On the contrary, Krishna. This so-called “whataboutism” IS about apples to apples.
I’m not a fan about “whataboutism” either, but it’s all about a direct comparison between — in this case — two different administrations.
Direct comparison? You already missed the point…lmao
It’s the go-to when you can’t argue the merits of the moment….lol
I’m not following your train of logic here, Krishna. It’s all good, I just fail to see your point.
I know…lol
I’ve finally begun (very, very LATE this year!) my dive into college tape. I began with Emmanuel Forbes (BALL HAWK!!!) and I have yet to finish.
IMO, his Combine numbers — including official height and weight — will dictate whether he goes in the 1st or 2nd round… I’m inclined to believe he’ll go in the 2nd round due to his body structure.
Hey… he’s got the Force!
Steve, the amount money our government throws around on BS and sends to other countries even though we’re in debt, is absurd. We should have the the most modern infrastructure and transportation in the world. We don’t.
An update (or modernization) to our infrastructure has been promised by every president since GHWB. It’s nothing more than a fake promise to get voters behind them.
As is almost every other thing EVERY politician says.
YESSIR!!! 100% agreed, Brian!
Back to Emmanuel Forbes… that cat has Jedi-like reflexes, and that’s something that cannot be taught or trained for. He’s cut from the same cloth as an Ed Reed, Pearl Thomas, Deion Sanders, or Xavien Howard.
It’s as though the game slows down for him as the ball approaches him.
IF he runs a sub 4.4, he’s likely gone in the 1st round, IMO.
IF he jumps higher than 37″, he’s likely gone in the 1st round, IMO.
Watched a few interviews with Forbes… he seems to be a cool cat with his head on his shoulders. Not a cocky kid, very supportive of his teammates, and always trying to get better.
He had to fight to get to his current 180 lbs, which is why I’m curious to see where he weighs in at the Combine.
His swagger on the gridiron is CONTAGIOUS! Yet, he seems to be relatively humble off the gridiron.

================================================
That’s exactly what it is. Someone says Biden is really creepy when he hugs, sniffs and kisses women and children during some type of event. A Biden supporter chimes in and doesn’t even address that, and goes right into Trump was accused of rape. So if Trump was convicted of rape that would make the creepy shit Biden does less creepy. But he still does it. LOL
^^^
My point is, nothing will change if we keep looking backwards to cripple us trying to see things with a fresh eye…lol
Or we could be doomed to repeat the same mistakes because we don’t learn from the past….
Fair enough, but that’s what growth is about….using experience to make better decisions now in an evolving world…evolving solutions…be in the moment…and in context
I think that IF Emmanuel Forbes doesn’t crush his 40-time or the VJ at the Combine, there is every possibility that he falls in the Draft. At 6’0″ and 180 pounds, many will consider him to be undersized for a modern-day NFL CB.

————-
I had a longwinded description of how whataboutism is a simple debate deflection fallacy, but Krishna described it above nice and succinctly, so I had to delete my whole post, lol.
I’ll add that as long as you directly address the original point, it is not whataboutism to then turn the same question on your opponent.
For example, in Tim’s example, if the Biden supporter provided a detailed rebuttal to the Biden accusation, then followed it with a volley regarding a Trump rape accusation, that is not whataboutism.
Exactly! Maybe both are bad. This tit for tat thing is what I see the problem being. Call them all out if they’re guilty. Regardless of the level of bad.
Lol
Could Emmanuel Forbes check every box in Vic Fangio’s “Match-Zone” concepts? I absolutely believe so.
I’ve more work to do on Forbes, but he already qualifies as ‘MAN-CRUSH UNIVERSITY’ for me: BALL HAWK!!!
Can’t wait to see his Combine numbers.
Haven’t seen Stanger here for some time. Is he alright?
As a defensive consultant for the Eagles for the SB, do you think Fangio will truly have an influence?
I hope he can get some insight on Mahomes and how to take him out…lol
It’s a good gig after being fired as a HC after 3 seasons. You get paid like a 100K to stay at home and share your opinions. Now he gets a 3 year DC job at $4.5M per year. Back to the grind but a lot more money.
I guess I think differently than some of you do. When you’re talking about negatives about one particular thing, and there is an opposite thing relevant to the other particular thing, even if you’re talking about different things, I believe the whatboutism is relevant. Like if Rock says I don’t use commas correctly (I don’t), and I say he say he sucks at editing because he’s working and in meetings and unavailable to edit, it’s all relevant.
Not sure commas in a structure of language have anything to do with real life…
Oh it’s real bro. It’s real!!! lol
Lol…whatever you say
Sorry…Rock on…lol
Another apples-to-oranges comparison…

Lol…good
I lived 13 years in the NE region..”debate” is a part of that regional culture, imo…lol
Seems the OL coach position has been filled….hope it’s on par or better….
…not sure how much was scheme or talent in 2022…
I’ve mentioned this before. Mike Shanahan once said his zone scheme running game doesn’t happen overnight. He said it takes like two years to teach it and get the right players.
He also didn’t believe in using high draft picks on RBs. Find the right guys who can thrive in this system. Terrell Davis a 6th round pick. There were others before him that thrived as well. He traded Clinton Portis to avoid paying him because of the numbers he was putting up. That was the Champ Bailey trade.
I have know idea about Butch Barry but I’ve heard the name. LOL
Then, it’s a long term plan…combine a tad of talent with promise…coaching and scheme…
…to Rock’s point…building a franchise is not about windows…you need an OL with continuity
I was talking about Tyreek, Armstead, Ogbah, Howard and then Chubb. Are we just trying to be solid and be in the picture or are we trying to win a Super Bowl? It’s pretty obvious. A 2 year window doesn’t mean you’ll suck for ten years, it just means strike when the iron is hot.
So if y’all like to talk about politics so much, what do ya make of the recent revelation that Biden’s inner circle, unilaterally — without consulting congress — decided to blow up the Nord Stream pipeline?
Now Europe (especially Germany) is PISSED OFF at us, as is Putin.
Yeah, this story isn’t going away, and you’d best believe that Putin hasn’t forgotten about the matter.
The liberal machine is marching us very quickly into nuclear (MAD) WWIII. Cute…
It’s not the liberal machine. It’s an elitist orgy. You could be the pastor of a big church. They’re part of it too. Most people don’t really care about the poor. It sounds good to say you do though.
Earth has always been a volatile planet and it remains so with humans trying to run it.
Machines on both sides Mf13ss and you clearly have a side…
….honestly, I think both sides enjoy fucking each other…lmao
I said orgy first. LOL
Lol…beer
OH they aren’t fucking each other!
If you aren’t pitching, your catching!!!!!!!
Wyo…whether pitching or catching they are having a fucking good time…lol
I would probably prefer an orgy where everyone is fucking whoever they want….oh wait…maybe that’s already the case…lol
That’s usually how it works. Think about this. Some states have laws against sodomy and oral sex. How the fuck would the government know about this?
How is it their business?
Seriously, I will never understand how getting a blow job is a crime…lol…sorry Herd…not sorry
Well in Herd’s defense she might like the whole cunnilingus thing. Just going by experience. Not trying to ruffle any feathers. Gals like that sort of thing. LOL
Lmao….69….an amazing yin, yang perspective…
Blasphemy!!! How dare you. LOL
Y’all didn’t address the Nord Stream pipeline explosion revelation, and even Tucker Carlson just addressed as much… nearly an hour after I brought it up.
I’d expected to hear, “WOW, the President doesn’t have the authority to do as much without the approval of congress”.
Instead, y’all didn’t even address the issue.

I will probably get banned, but I agree with Piggy from the other day.
I don’t want to talk about politics either!
Bookman, at the political righteousness or sexual expression? Or both?
No comment on that. I agree with Piggy’s assessment the other day
Stanger is usually the one who brings politics to the blog. Now for the second time, I haven’t seen Stanger here on the blog for some time.
Is Stanger alright? Does anybody know?
I don’t know about Stanger!
But Emmanuel Forbes will be drafted before we pick! Unless we move up to get him?
Imo…I see no righteousness in politics..
Sexually…whatever two adults are into is righteousness…
Lol…
M13, Thanks for bringing up Forbes. I can’t get over that dudes production. Despite his build, he is not afraid to support in the run game. IMO, he clearly has the “it” factor and is going to be a really good NFL CB. I hope he does not run under 4.4. I hear he is probably a low to mid 4.4 guy. There is a really good crop of CB’s and I expect about 6-7 to go in the first round not counting Forbes. He has good instincts.
Wyoming, it is possible that Forbes goes before pick 51. I still don’t think he cracks the 1st round though. Hard to say. This draft is weak at LB and top tier OL. We will see.
I also wanted my hometown guy from Pensacola, CB Devon Witherspoon. Preseason, he was considered a 3rd rounder now some sites have him as CB1 and a top 10 pick.
M13, other CB’s to check out who could be in our range at #51 are:
Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, TCU (5-9, 180) he is smallish but has 4.3 speed and is a playmaker.
Deonte Banks, Maryland (6-2, 205) big corner who is a good press or zone corner.
Garrett Willims, Syracuse (6-0, 189) good match corner coming off a torn ACL though.
Many sites have Forbes ranked as CB7 and the 3 above finishing out the top 10.
Other CB’s I have not checked out much yet are:
Jaylon Jones, Texas A&M
Ji’Ayir Brown, Penn State
DJ Turner, Michigan
Tyrique Stevenson, Miami (Fla.)

Personally, if the medical community thinks he’s good to go, it’s up to Tua. His brain, his body, his life, his risk….choice.
Then, we watch…I do believe if we can find a way or ways to protect him, he can be elite.
So, BB wasn’t liked very well at his last job….seems he has communication issues…lol.
I would think great communication on the OL is one of the most important aspects needed to keep the QB safe, among other things….uh oh…
I was reading about that too. Apparently, the Broncos players cheered last season when his firing was announced. So I looked at his resume…not a ringing endorsement…
Broncos players shouldn’t be cheering anything after their performance this past season. Everyone got fired.
The reports about that organization up and down is that the coaching situation was a complete mess. There is a reason that team fell apart right out of the gate when they were projected to be contending for the playoffs. It wasn’t a lack of talent.
Is it really such a zoo here? It’s not irrelevant to discuss politics after the POTUS State of the Union address. I don’t see why anyone is shaking their head, unless of course you actually watched the SOTUA, which was certainly a head shaker. Not that I see. This place has been much worse than anything recently.
I like conversion
What are you converting too?
I don’t feel like I’m caged….which is what a zoo is all about….lol.
Did anyone else read up on this?
I did. Hersch’s story is based on one anonymous source. While the anonymity is understandable, not having any corroborating evidence is shaken at best. Probably why it’s on sub stack – no major media outlet would publish it.
Not saying it didn’t happen, but I would be surprised if our current government could keep it quiet this long. Too leaky. If they did do it, bravo for a well executed op that accomplished the intended results.
^
A friend of mine told me awhile back he thought we did that.
Good story and seems plausible. Kudos to our Navy divers and the Norwegian military who pulled this off
If that’s what really happened….fucking ay!
Sorry, not sorry….lol
This was a song Tom MacDonald did last year. He didn’t do a video for it but after the Grammy’s the other night he did this short clip to prove his point.
If we didn’t lose our 1st round pick, I think MLB Drew Sanders would be my first pick.
He was an edge player at Alabama and transferred to Arkansas and converted to MLB. He’s 6’5 232 and had 103 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 1 INT with 5 PD’s from the MLB position.
Just some food for thought.
That is encouraging. I confirmed those numbers in an ESPN article (near the bottom of the article).

There seems to be a new thing going on where sick fucks have decided to execute a NJ councilwoman and now a NJ councilman a week later. The latest one the shooter killed himself. SMH
the cases are not known to be connected. The second shooting was by a former employee of the councilman who was found dead with a self inflicted gun shot according to police. Again, there does not seem to be any connection between the two so it doesn’t seem to be a “new thing” etc.
New thing meaning two in a week.

While I am not a huge fan of political talk on a football blog but I also have no desire to censor or edit posts or dictate what people can or can’t post. everyone most likely will with or without this tacit agreement….

Many of those who bitch the most about political comments are the ones that post them, so just ignore it is my advice. Scrolling scrolling scrolling keep that mouse a scrolling. All we were talking about is how both sides play the same game then cry when they lose. Maybe time for them grow up and learn how compromise for the betterment of the people.
There is a lot of controversy on Twitter about our new Oline Coach. He sucks, he doesn’t suck, he’s great, he isn’t great. They players in Denver hated him, no they didn’t. The Denver beat writers are very negative on him, but they are Omarish. so there is that.
Seems the Broncos went from man blocking to the outside scheme and the player didn’t like it. They DID give up a league high SIXTY THREE sacks….
Russell Wilson has always been one of the most sacked QBs in the league.

If it’s true, Biden unilaterally decided to screw the whole of Western Europe (as if they aren’t already experiencing an energy crisis), along with fucking over a country that has more nuclear weapons than we have. Talk about building alliances and bringing people together, right?
It’s an impeachable offense and there needs to be an immediate investigation. This has brought us to the brink of a nuclear world war while alienating Western Europe… our former allies.
LOL
You’ve the right to feel however you wish, but it’s all fun and games until Russia launches a nuclear EMP over the homeland via their submarines… which incidentally have us surrounded on both the East and West coasts by the most recent military sightings.
You are so far down the rabbit hole on this. The Russian military has been exposed as a paper tiger. They can’t get out their own way in the Ukraine. Furthermore this type of activity is nothing new than the U.S. have been doing to one another since 1945. Nothing to see here
The Nord Stream pipeline is Russian owned. That’s why Russia is pissed and threatening whoever did it. It was to hurt the funding of their war against the Ukraine. War always has ugly consequences.
It hurt the whole of Western Europe, being the Nord Stream pipeline was their only source of energy/heat. Under the Paris Accord, most countries shut down their nuclear power plants, coal mines, etc.
At least France was smart enough to say fuck that, and they put their nuclear power plants back online.
From what I’ve heard they’re just fine. It’s not their only energy source. This was likely a plan by the NATO.
LOL
Dude beat a DUI rap because he was leaving in an emergency situation when he got caught cheating on his wife. I wonder if this would only happen in California or if this kind of ‘necessity’ law is the norm.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/california-man-won-dui-case-with-unique-defense-better-to-drive-drunk-than-face-two-angry-women/ar-AA17iBIi?cvid=78f54810d334437184712bf8cab6f199
The only way that is a viable defense and I am not even sure if it would be a defense is that the driver would have to have a reasonable belief that he was at risk of losing his life or at risk of grievous bodily injury such as they were coming after him with a gun or knife. Even then I am not sure that is a valid defense
He was found innocent based on that defense
I am not sure how that would play out in most states. I am pretty sure in Connecticut that defense would not work. Not sure why it did in California

————-
You are most welcome and thank YOU for bringing him to my attention, Bro. Yes, he is quite the run-supporter as well… that surprised me coming from a 180-pound CB.
Right on with ya: I do NOT want him running under a 4.4 or jumping a 36″+ VJ… he goes in the 1st round if he does so.
I’m going to dig deeper into him as he’s now secured “man-crush” status for me. Thanks again, BB Mike!
Ken,
I say this to ya most jovially and as a complete joke, so please don’t take offense to it whatsoever, okay?
If you’re going to cheerlead for the Democrats and Biden, PLEASE wear spankies that fit you! Hulkster is going to bust right through them! 😉 😆
I never once cheerleaded Biden on the decision to do what was done. I just find it fascinating that the Republicans are up in arms over it when they were openly critical of Biden’s decision on removing the sanctions on Nordstream. I also don’t think we should have any fear of the Russian military. As for what underwear I am wearing wouldn’t you love to know 😉
I’m JBB, ya know! Nothing personal.
👍
I’m having a colonoscopy tomorrow
Wish me luck and a doctor who’s gentle
Best of luck to ya, Pigster! Hope everything goes well, man.
Piggy shits out Mark Sanchez and Sam Darnold
AND Cromartie #203183.
Hulkster,
Is Stanger alright? It’s been some time since he’s been here, bud.
I have no reason to think he is not. I am friends with his wife on FB and as far as I can tell everything is fine
Thank you, and that’s great to hear! Perhaps he’s just taking a small break from the blog… most of us do from time to time.
M13, you’re playing partisan politics on the Nord Stream pipeline topic. This was a USA and NATO move. You’re actually being pro-Russia on this so to be anti-Biden administration. We’re still the USA unless you don’t like the word united. We can’t let Putin do whatever he wants. Because he has a nuclear threat we’re supposed to let him do whatever he wants? His main goal is to seize all the countries the former USSR had occupied after WWII.
Where have you heard that NATO had anything to do with the Nordstream bombing? That’s news to me and the world.
Not publicly because they can’t admit it. Think clandestine. It was a war tactic to hurt Russia. Seems obvious to me.
Read the article above. It was a joint US and Norwegian operation done during a NATO exercise
Then it’s pure speculation… or as others may call it, a ‘conspiracy theory’.
Tim,
I’ve got NO love for Putin, Russia, or even the former USSR. IMO, we’ve no business playing world police in Ukraine. The MIC (Military Industrial Complex) is at work again after pulling out of Afghanistan and Iraq.
What’s more, several of our so-called ‘leaders’ (not just Hunter Biden) have been moving money through Ukraine via Burisma and other companies. And no, it’s not just Democrats. Mitt Romney’s son is involved as well.
Our very government is trying to hide its footprints in Ukraine.
If it’s trying to hide its footprint in the Ukraine they would not have bombed the pipeline as that only draws more attention to our relationship with Ukraine
It’s a global effort. Do you really think we’re just going to say one day, the USA is totally out of protecting global democracy?
We seem to pick our fights in protecting global democracy. Ya know… when it’s CONVENIENT for us to do so.
My last post on politics before getting back to foosball. If Russia is such a “paper tiger”, then why do we continue to pipe BILLIONS of our tax-payers’ $$$ to Ukraine?
Last I checked, we’ve sent roughly $100B to Ukraine… and a great deal of that $$$ is totally unaccounted for! 😡
Now we’re sending them Abrams tanks and aerial fighters. This is now BEYOND funding a mere proxy war… we’re in it, unlike any war before.
And Ukraine is STILL not a member of NATO!
* we’re in it, unlike any PROXY war before.
This is no longer a proxy war.
It’s exactly like other proxy wars.
Because Russia is a paper tiger and is getting its junk handed to them by a proxy military. Also it is a lot cheaper than being in actual war with Russia. Russia has been exposed as a paper tiger, Putin has been weakened and NATO has been strengthened. It has been a major foreign policy win
I most respectfully disagree, Bro.
We can agree to disagree.
M13, not sure where you stand on what the USA should do to preserve democracy. The Ukraine is not a member of NATO but they border Russia and they’re a sovereign nation that borders our NATO nations.
How would you oppose Putin?
I don’t believe that Putin needs to necessarily be opposed or disposed of. If you truly feel that way, then we should probably try to wage war on 75% of the world for not believing the same way that we do here in America.
And here’s something the MSM won’t tell us: millions of Ukrainians fled back to Russia to SUPPORT Russia… NOT out of fear of being obliterated.
I can also tell you this: a friend of mine is (now was) married to a native Ukrainian, living here in PA. Once this conflict sparked last February, she left him for good, saying that she was gathering her Ukrainian family to move to Russia. MANY Ukrainians feel the same way, not trusting the current government under Zelenski. In other words, it wasn’t a one-off.
I’m sorry, but I don’t think we need to involve ourselves in what is ‘essentially’ a domestic dispute between Russia and the former Russian (USSR) country. Both are cut from the same cloth and there’s nothing that would so benefit us to go to war over it… it’s a fool’s errand at best.
We STILL haven’t learned from all of our failures in the past, have we? So we just mire ourselves in war (MIC), and ultimately, what’s going to happen will happen. Everything will revert to the way it was before the conflict ever began.
At one point in time, I DID believe in nation-building (esp. regarding Iraq), but that was when I was young and naive. We’re just pissing in the wind at this point, spending good money after bad. As always, JMO.
It’s not about the feelings of specific Ukranian people. It’s a geographical situation. Just like when we took down Saddam in Iraq after 9/11, that was because Iraq was a threat to Israel. It was all about timing and circumstance. That’s the game this world plays and we’re part of it. I wish war was a rare thing but it is not.
Brother, if we had invested even HALF as much as we did in war into medicine, there’s a very good chance there would be a cure for cancer today. Our infrastructure could look like the Jetson’s. Our very way of life could be radically different… for the better.
That’s a different topic. I agree with you about the money we piss away. But we’ve both lived long enough to realize the USA is involved in global politics. It’s not really about Republicans or Democrats. It’s our entire government as a world power. It started long before we were born. It’s the world we live in.
Rock – You better quit skipping over my posts!
😛
Russia was reported to overtake the Ukraine within 3 weeks. How long has it been now? Their conventional military is not very good. They’re struggling with a nation on their border that doesn’t have direct allies on the ground. Putin is being embarrassed.
That’s where we came in… to the tune of $1B.

Agreed, 100%, my guy. However, it’s high time to END the senseless wars we get involved in, trying to play world police. That’s one of the myriads of reasons I still support the Trumpster.
Yeah, he’s politically incorrect, runs his mouth, and is a total braggart… but at least he delivered like the mailman… through rain, sleet, and snow.
It’s not about one person aka the president. At least not in the USA – we have a system that prevents dictatorship regardless of what some people want to believe. Thousands of people are involved in how our country operates. It’s not perfect but it’s way better than the ultimate ruler.
*sigh*
My guy, if what is being reported is true, the Biden administration unilaterally — without the consent of Congress — bombed the Nordstream pipeline. And NO… there was no NATO help in this endeavor.
IF the report is true, we no longer have a system that prevents dictatorship.
THIS IS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT LAST EVENING!!!
I think you’re going above your pay grade. When you figure it all out please let us all know the path to utopia.
Do you think voting Republican changes all of this? If Ronald Reagan did this conservatives would have an orgy.
There IS no utopia.
I also don’t trust Republicans. If that didn’t come through to you, I don’t know what else to say.
Yes my friend. 🙂
Lol…ok
I’m on to foosball… I’ve addressed all the replies to my OG statement after I stated I want to go back to foosball.
IF we could trade either X or Baker in exchange for a 2nd rounder, would ya do it?
Nope! Let’s replace two really good vets with unknowns. Not sure how that helps us unless you want to rebuild.
Fair and good argument.
Hmmm…no one saw the Brian Miller article on what we can send to the Vikings for their DC?
No. Enlighten me…
See below
to their DC….and we get in return?
Here is Brian Miller’s musings…
https://phinphanatic.com/2023/02/08/3-players-miami-dolphins-send-brian-flores-minnesota/
I think they’re compelling…lol
WOW! This Brian Miller might actually be retarded (no offense to the mentally challenged community).
Lol…ok
So you want to talk about fear and Russians? Lmao…
I thought we were talking about Brian Miller’s proposed trade… not about Russia?
One thing we learned from Mike McDaniel as a HC is he doesn’t just throw rookies in there. Out of need yes. We didn’t trade for and sign Tyreek and Chubb to big deals along with Ogbah, Armstead and X to maybe compete down the road. This team is trying to get into the final 4, 2, 1 in the AFC. You don’t get rid of talented vets still in their prime for rookies.
100% agreed!
However, the salary cap may prohibit certain matters.
One thing I always agreed with Omar on was the cap can be manipulated. Our organization wants to compete to win the big prize NOW!!!!! Yes we have some questionable situations but who doesn’t?
Going for it does not mean you destroy the future. But you have to take advantage of a talented roster before it’s not there anymore. 3-5 year cycles.
We all know Tua is key. People focus on his concussion issues and that is a concern. But they love to ignore how highly ranked he was at QB in the most important stats.
I think we all want to see him hold that Lombardi trophy up and totally silence the naysayers. I feel like so many people are rooting for him to fail. I don’t get it other than our rival teams, that I get. But Tua is a good dude and he plays at a high level when he’s on the field.
Musings….lol…retarded or not…I don’t think we need Jones…lol…not sure how RDavis helped us….if we can upgrade Baker, or the middle….yep….and throwin Iggy….
Retarded…lol
We NEVER had Jones this season…that’s fucking retarded…lol
Davis is like a tree trunk in front of your door. How the fuck am I getting out? LOL
When he plays?
Our front 5 has a lot of potential.
OLB Phillips
DE Ogbah
DT Wilkins
DE Sieler
OLB Chubb
With Davis playing NT when needed.
Not many teams have 6 like that.
Is Zach Thomas going to get onto the HOF tonight?
Hope so….is that tonight ?
Is this his last shot? I have no idea….lol
The inductions are tonight for 2023. Started at 9PM
Wow, Jest with the offensive and defensive rookies of the year in Wilson and Gardner.
They’re announcing the inductees right niw

They still had to fuck with him and make him go last but as soon as I saw Jimmy I knew.
LMAO @ Egger suit
Lotta D going in this year
Hope they don’t let Tua play in the HOF game 🫣
Either Toba is sick or just lives in Canada, or both
lol, Canadian flu
Sick is a stretch, but tired and had chills all day .. watched the show under a blanket in bed .. now apparently tomorrow I get to change a toilet seal
Oh, that’s not too bad then. Feel better, bro 🙂
I haven’t mentioned it up till now, but congrats on your Jets having a good season. My team is throwing in the towel (as they should), so I’ll be rooting for your guys in the playoffs.
Appreciate it , I am not thrilled with how they were playing going into the break after we finally got healthy.. Their 1st game in 11 days is Saturday.. hopefully Bowness kicked their asses in practice..

54 is finally heading to Canton!
Legendary linebacker Zach Thomas is receiving the recognition he deserves. On Thursday it was announced Thomas will be a member of the 2023 class inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It is an honor long-overdue for one of the best linebackers to play the game and it finally puts Thomas in Canton where he belongs.
The Dolphins selected the “undersized” Thomas out of Texas Tech in the fifth round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Considered a special teams prospect, Thomas surprised during training camp and the preseason, eventually moving past presumed starting middle linebacker Jack Del Rio, who was released in favor of the rookie.
Too small and slow to play on defense, Thomas started all 16 games for Miami as a rookie, recording 154 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and three interceptions with a touchdown. He led the league in tackles in 2002 and 2006.
In his 12 seasons with Miami, Thomas played in 168 games – all starts – totaling 1,640 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries, and 17 interceptions with four touchdowns. He locked down the middle of Miami’s defense as he was named to seven Pro Bowls, was a five-time First-Team All-Pro selection, and a two-time Second-Team All-Pro. He was named the 1996 AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year, twice was selected as the NFL Alumni Linebacker of the team (1998, 2006), and was named to the NFL’s All-Decades Team for the 2000s.
He averaged 9.7 tackles per game over his Dolphins career, with an average of 155 tackles per 16 games.
Thomas played in final season in 2008 with the Dallas Cowboys appearing in all 16 games with 14 starts. He added 94 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery that season.
He started eight playoff games in his career, all with Miami, recording 60 tackles with one sack and one fumble recovery.
The Dolphins have unofficially retired Thomas’ number, as no one has worn his iconic 54 jersey since he left Miami. Hopefully, with this election to the Hall of Fame, they will make the retirement official, doing a joint ceremony to also retire his teammate, defensive end Jason Taylor’s 99 at the same time. With Thomas and Taylor leading a dominant defense, the Dolphins’ total defense was a top-ten unit from 1998 through 2004.
This was Thomas’ tenth year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame. He has been a finalist for the fourth year in a row. During his induction speech last year, Hall of Fame and former New York Jets center Kevin Mawae brought up Thomas, saying, “Zach Thomas was my nemesis. My first year with the Jets before my first game we played against each other, ill Parcells told me in front of my entire team, ‘If you don’t block Thomas, we won’t win the game,’ and for the next 16 matchups I never forgot that. Zach was one of, if not the smartest player I ever faced. He loved the game, had fun when he played and brought the best out of me. When people ask me who’s not in the Hall of Fame and that I think should be here, it’s an easy one for me: number 54 from the Miami Dolphins.”
Last year, Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher joined in on the discussion of why Thomas has continued to not be in the Hall of Fame.
This year, number 54 is finally heading to Canton. Congratulations Zach Thomas!
I asked Baker Mayfield’s dad yesterday if Baker wanted to be Tua’s back up next year? Lol…
not a terrible idea, from a style perspective,
but I think a back-up should be very protective of the ball
and not a TO machine like Baker.
It was more about me being a little salty with him. At the beginning of the season, he dissed Tua. I thought a little “push” might get a reaction….lol.
He reacted when I said he’s probably a back-up at this point in his career…lol.
‘La Morena’ uses colorful palette
… Super Bowl LVII artist….pretty cool story in USA Today.
Zach Thomas is da man!!!
So happy for him.
Zach winning is so good for our team right at this time.
The timing is perfect.
This should re energize guys like Holland and Phillips and Wilkins,
young guys who have a shot at the HoF.
(ok so getting Fangio should also help with that)

I bout teared up when I saw that guitar.
btw
it’s history now, but
I was so proud of Chad Henne’s play
after Mahomes first went down with the ankle.
Congrats to Zach. LONG overdue
