The winless Carolina Panthers at 0-5 come to Miami to take on the 4-1 1st place Miami Dolphins this Sunday, A.K.A Fest Day! This is the best Dolphins team we’ve seen in some time. The offense is incredible, although we have lost rookie sensation RB De’Von Achane for a few weeks as he was placed on IR this week, meaning he’ll miss at least 4 games until he’s eligible to return the week of November 19th against the Raiders. Incidentally, Jeff Wilson Jr. is eligible to return from the PUP list but it has yet to be determined if Wilson will be active. RB Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks will most likely share reps with Mostert, with Mostert getting the majority of the touches.
I think the majority of us have a lot of positive feelings with this team. The Buffalo game was a sobering beat down, but the team came back strong against the beleaguered NY Giants. The defense especially made their presence felt last week. In place of Jaelan Phillips, backup LB Andrew Van Ginkel has been stellar. He has made his absence tolerable, although it would be great to have both og them available. Jaelan Phillps logged in a limited practice Wednesday, along with other limited participants WR Tyreek Hill, OG Robert Jones, RB Raheem Mostert, RB Jeff Wilson Jr., and nice to see the return of DB Nik Needham, one of my faves. CB Xavien Howard (veteran rest), FB Alec Ingold (foot), and OC Connor Williams (groin), did not practice. Ingold has said he’s playing Sunday, but Williams is one to keep an eye on, and maybe a late decision.
The Dolphins are the #1 passing team with 1681 yards. The Dolphins are also the #1 rushing team with 929 yards. That’s crazy! This offense, with the exception of the 2nd half of the Bills game has been nearly unstoppable. On defense however, it’s a different story. The Dolphins have allowed the 12th most passing yards, and the 15th most rushing yards. Not terrible, but not championship level either. Vic Fangio may have the Dolphins defense turning the corner, although even a strong showing against the Panthers will still leave the question as to whether this defense, and team in general, can play well against one of the better teams, like the Philadelphia Eagles. We’ll play them the following Sunday, and they will be a better gauge as to where this team is heading.
It’s a shame the Festers won’t get to see RB De’Von Achane who just eats up yardage so quickly, averaging an outrageous 12.1 yards per carry. I’m not talking 5-10 carries, it’s 38. Raheem Mostert is also having a great year rushing and is averaging a whopping 5.4 yards per carry, which is less than half of the magic man, De’Von Achane, but still impressive. We will get to see Tyreek Hill, who has also been magical this season. Hill has 651 yards receiving and is averaging 18.1 YPR, crazy considering all the extra attention he receives. Jaylen Waddle has 245 yards receiving, 14.4 YPR. Braxton Berrios has been great getting open finding soft spots in the zones or just beating coverage to get open.
The Panthers will be showing off their rookie QB Bryce Young who is having a decent rookie season. Young has been sacked 12 times so far this season. Young has 750 yards passing with 5 TD’s and 4 INT’s and a 77 QBR. In contrast, Tua has 1614 yards, with 11 TD’s and 5 INT’s and a stellar 111.9 QBR. It would be nice to have a healthy Jaelan Phillips back, but it’s still unclear as to whether he will suit up. In any case, AVG is on fire right now, so this defense is going to bring it whether Phillips is there or not. I do hope we activate Nik Needham, but I think we have until the 29th to activate him, so it’s probably not happening this week.
No matter what happens at the game itself, this is a special time getting together with a great group. It’s such a pleasure to see you all each year, and of course, we’re thankful for Stanger’s hospitality, Chef Warren, communications man Hulk, transportation man Toba, and everyone who attends and makes it such a special time. It will be great to finally meet Herd, looking forward to that! Looking forward to meeting up again and having a great time while we’re together. Cheers!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

I’m probably in for the Jets game in NY as well if a group gets together.
Ahhhh first time page turn!
Next time it will be twice!
Does that mean your really fun and lovely other half approved of the crew?
Yes she truly had a great time and really liked meeting everyone! The same for me it was great to see everyone again after not being able to make it the past few years.
Was awesome to see you, but I was more curious about her. If she enjoyed more likely we see both of you in the years to come. And hey — a long weekend in So FLA is pretty cool. 🙂
Hi Naples….I will be in your area for two weeks in December with the intention of “exploring” Naples and Sanibel Island (and perhaps driving across state for the Dolphins v Jets game on December 17) from December 12-25. If you are ok with having one of the Admins share your e-mail or contact info with me, I have a bunch of questions….lol.
Thank you!
No problem, man … been here a long time, so I might know stuff.
Thank you, sir! I will reach out soon, probably over the weekend.
Pretty sure you know stuff….lol.
This week, the International Olympic Committee officially added flag football — along with baseball/softball, lacrosse, squash and cricket — to the program for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics.
When are they going to add cornhole?
Like 6 years ago they were going to do away with wrestling (came back with fewer competitors). Make up your mind IOC.

YAY WYOMING!
Miami only ragged on Mac Jones. LOL
I love the last line. Sometimes when I write up a game plan, I don’t know where I am going, I just hope I find it along the way..
I have a bad feeling with X most likely out this weekend and having to cover both Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown. Apple is going to get roasted.
Coach didn’t sound like it was serious?
Hope not
This season is so awesome for so many reasons. One is a 1-5 Pats team. Just say that our loud. The Patriots are one and five. They have lost five of the last six games.
Go ahead. Just humor me. say. it. out. loud.
Didn’t everything just get a little brighter. The colors a little sharper?
Chase Young keeps coming up as someone we should trade for by the deadline.
I don’t know. Think he would cost too much in draft capital. He’s an UFA next year so it would be a short rental.
Isn’t he always hurt?
So, just for shits and giggles, go to NFL website / stats and go to kickers. Sort the kickers by % of attempts made….
Scroll to the bottom….
Now go to the next fucking page and scroll to the bottom again.
I may have said this would be a problem.
So you’re blaming Sanders for the blocked FG against NE, where they took advantage of Bailey’s tell?
He missed another one in that game as well. He is second worse kicker in the league by % of made FG’s
You can love him all you want. He still is the 2nd worse kicker in the league. Not even #32….
OK at the 1/3 mark of the season, what position do we need
1- to trade for before the deadline to make a better run at SB
And/or
2- to draft bext year to improve our weakest spot
or replace a FA cap casualty
LT
As far as draft.
Rewatching the game and Kohou is not a starting OS CB. I was cringing over 33 but 4 gives up some big plays after looking good on plays.

I second that!
Why would the Steelers not want Desmond King?
Why would we want him if they dont?
So, my buying his jersey Sunday didn’t cause a set back?
Apparently not! Seems so soon though…wow.
We are going to have to release 5-6 guys from the roster in the next month. The team also needs to be very careful with the IR designations moving forward. We are running out of the “to return” designation. You are only allowed 8 per season.
Jones (already reactivated), Wilson, Armstead, Ramsey, Needham, Achain
That is 6 of the 8 allowed. We also have Cracraft and EZE on the list. My guess is they do not come back this season and we keep the two other “to return” designations as emergency use.
Awesome news about Ramsey
What does opening 21 day window mean?
Does this mean he has to come off IR in the next 21 days?
Or does this mean he has to wait 21 days to come off IR?
He has to come off IR during that time if not he’s out for the year
I don’t know how he did it?
But kudo’s!!!
Yeah, great job, but it is also year 2 in the system. These guys have all been in it except for Wynn. They know their responsibilities and to together really well.
work together really well
When you only have to sustain a block for 2 seconds helps
They’re getting it done in the run game too.
Again you only have to sustain for about 2 seconds with the burst Mostert and Achane have
How long is normal, 3 seconds? Maybe that’s why so many teams struggle on offense.
We’re in Coral Gables at an awesome food court before we return the car and head to the ship. Got me thinking about our old friend DCoral who used to post here
Beautiful little city!!

Fuck that man is so clueless. How does he have a job? NO REALLY I WANT TO KNOW!? HOW DOES THIS POS have a job? He is clueless about EVERYTHING all of his takes are “hot takes” Why does ESPN keep paying him?
Squeaky wheel gets the oil…lol….here are the facts. 2 yard passes to Hill my ASS!
“Of course, those stats could be impacted by a player taking a two-yard zipped pass 40 yards. But what about air yards? Taking a look at air yards, Tagovailoa is averaging 5.3 yards per pass in the air before it is being caught. That leads the league, ahead of Purdy’s 5.2 yards. Tagovailoa has thrown more passes over 10 yards than anyone else. He is second in passes that traveled more than 20 yards. He is tied for second in passes that traveled more than 30 yards. He jumps back into the lead with passes that travel more than 40 yards down the field. And he is tied for the league in passes that travel more than 50 yards.
Tagovailoa is tied for sixth on average completed air yards with a 6.4 yards per catch. In comparison, Cincinnati Bengals (+6) quarterback Joe Burrow is last on the list with a 3.7 average completed air yards through Week 6. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has the fourth-lowest average at 4.3 yards.”
___________
With that oil you can shove a stick up his ass, too. Or not use oil, lol.
Our team, and particularly the offense, has performed so well that it is now a target in the media. One of the the top questions in the NFL media is “Can the Dolphin’s O really be that good?” And for sure some are going to say no it ain’t, even if they have to make up BS reasons.
The flip side so what if it was only 2 yards? He is still putting the ball in the hands of playmakers that allows to get huge yards after catch. That too is a very important skill that many QBs often fail at. So even if he was correct, which he is not, it would be just a so what moment.
My favorite clueless moment from that guy was when he picked an AFC West team to score the most points of anyone in the division in a week and had them losing to another team in the AFC West that same week. He’s a hack.
I hope the “Restructure” was a straight up pay cut. He is WAY over paid.
MM is a mad scientist.😜
I remember when we first hired McDaniel, and we started posting 49er tape, you could see multiple times where guys on D were standing flat footed. No one even blocked them. They were so either confused or isolated that they were irrelevant.
I love MM

Best part of the article, imo:
“….McDaniel reiterated the fact that football is the ultimate team sport. And while numbers are nice, championships last forever. Just ask the 1984 Dolphins, who set a lot of records but ultimately fell short in the Super Bowl. Conversely, the 1972 Dolphins made history by winning games as a team and by any means necessary.”
___________
FACTS!!!
And, I witnessed both….the old fucker that I am…lol
On that TD pass to Mostert, the play was so perfectly designed that the only defender with any chance to stop Mostert had to do almost a 360, and when he turned around, Smythe was squared up 100% in the only path whose angle could make the tackle.
All the other 10 guys on D were at least 15 yards away from a 4.37 sprinter in space.

Tua is CLUTCH.

Amazing! And, head and shoulders above EVERYONE when it comes to the 4th quarter in TDs per snaps, 1st downs per snaps, and sacks as % of pass plays….wtf?!
Herbert threw a pick to end his team’s chances in the 4th.

Why would the Steelers not want Desmond King?
Why would we want him if they dont?
————-
Because he’s a natty BALL HAWK (!), not to mention a multi-faceted player who returns kicks and punts… or play Safety or CB.
It’s not King’s fault that he’s been in the wrong systems for so many years. He would legitimately excel in this Defensive system of Fangio.
The current Stealers* system is NOT a fit for King.
I would say the current Phins’ Defense is fit for a King.
Your AFC Offensive Player of the Week is Raheem Mostert.
NICE, and WELL DESERVED!!!
Good to see ya, Stanger! 🙂
Good to see you M13. We were the first team to have two different RBs win that award in a season in many years.
“I’m about to push this podium over. My answer to that would be who the F cares.”
— Mike McDaniels on whether Tua’s success is cause of him or the system.
Exactly!
Dolphins restructured Sanders.
—-
“The move has lowered the kicker’s cap hit from $3.7 million to $2.4 million.
In 2023, Sanders has hit five of his seven field goal attempts and 28 of his 29 extra points.”
And I hold my breath every time he kicks
I was just reading about QBR rating and I have to say, I have read medical texts, I have read legal documents. I have a very high reading comprehension generally, but I cannot understand the BS they are slinging at all.
PAA – “Number of points contributed by a quarterback, accounting for QBR and how much he plays, above the level of an average QB.
What the fuck is “Expected points added” expected by who? “ESPN’S Win-probability model” WTF is that?
It’s made-up garbage by ‘experts’ at ESPN. You eventually find out experts are usually clueless much like Steven A.
On to the Dolphins, the biggest game of the week is us vs Philly. How long has it been since we were a prime draw and competitive with SB teams? Too damn long. This team is fun to watch on offense and hopefully Ramsey will make it fun to watch on D. AVG is a joy to watch though.
^
How efficient is our offense!!? We lead the league in passing yards by more than 260 yards than the next team, but have completed fewer passes than 8 other teams. Incredibly we have attempted fewer passes than 14 teams.
Similarly, we lead the league in rushing yards. More than 190 yards more than the closest team. 22 teams have rushed more often than us.
It’s so funny watching the after game hugs Tua gives the other QB’s He is like a therapist after the game. LOL
Yes, ‘QBR’ (Quarterback Rating) is a generic ESPN stat that takes into account a lot of nonsensical BS. NEVER go by that.
The gold standard is the NFL’s ‘passer rating’… always go by that.
So, not to rhyme but doesn’t it seem day to day might mean not this time?
MM is conservative in some ways. Player health being one and two.
but we have to wait for the end of the weak
Joe Shad was the guy MM wanted to tip the podium over about. LOL

Is it wrong for me to be tired of all the accolades this week and focused on the Sunday’s trial by fire? I sure hope we don’t lay an egg like we did against Buffalo.
That is kind of where I am at too. It’s nice to get the respect, but after a poor showing against the Bills, if we don’t show up for this game, none of that stuff matters and we move into the pretender category in everyone’s mind.
“Sure, they put up a lot of points against bad teams, but they can’t hang with the big boys” – I do not want this to be the theme of our season.
Go into Philly and come back with a win.
Yep
Me when I think of the possibility of laying an egg
lol
Am I crazy?
I keep hearing people talk about how much we need to prove this weekend by beating the eagles
But we don’t have to prove anything
We want to win. We want the 1 seed in the afc if we can get. If we can’t we still want the best regular season record
We don’t need to satiate the media and convince them we are “for real”
When the playoffs roll around, there’s probably going to be 3-4 teams in each conference that are contenders. In the case of the afc, I think one of those teams will be a wildcard from the afc east
I want to win the division and I want to get the 1 seed to avoid playing a contender on the road – but realistically, whomever gets the 1 seed is Going to lose 3 or 4 games this year. Even the 1 seed my lose to a good team in the road. It happens every year
Nobody get me wrong, I want to beat the eagles
But the regular season is about playoff seeding not proving to skip bay less and Stephen a smith and every podcaster you are “for real”
We can lose this game and be “for real”
Even championship teams lose to others contenders and on the road
The reach of how far we go this year is not beholden to the knee jerk reactions of power rankings or who is the best team at the moment
I think a championship team should get better every week
We need to stay healthy
We need to improve defensively and we can use October and November to get there
But we don’t need to prove anything to anyone
Am I the only one that has tuned out the media’s opinion of who we are?
Maybe I’m just a long suffering Dolphins fan, but I very much think this is a prove it weekend. It’s a measuring stick game against an elite team. If we lose bad, I know I’ll start to question whether we can beat the elite teams. But we’ll also get another chance in two more weeks in Germany.
I think if we win, people will still say “they can’t beat Buffalo”
We are gonna be saddled with that until we play them again
If we lose to the eagles people will say “all they do is beat bad teams”
Pick your poison on this
But the people criticizing us are just going to replace one criticism for another
I think that’s fair, Piggy, when you’re talking about the likes of Cowherd, Asshat Smith, etc. And even regular analysts (as opposed to ‘shock analysts’) are pretty dumb in general.
But I also think there is some truth in there to be found. If we lose bad to the Eagles, I’ll start to wonder if we can only beat bad teams, so it’s only natural analysts would too.
I also personally feel like the Bills do have our number- for whatever reason. We beat them last year, but it took Allen missing wide open guys in the end zone for us to win one game out of the last forever.
I think for us to take the next step, we do need to show we can hang with the 3 or 4 elite teams in the league. This week is an opportunity to do that.
It really doesn’t bother me what the ‘analysts’ say, because when you look at what a guy like Smith said about Tua, it’s obvious he’s just regurgitating or trolling because what he said is factually inaccurate.
And there has always been that Northeast sports center bias against the Dolphins even when we were good a couple of decades ago, lol.
I agree with El Cerdo…contenders will lose occasionally to other contenders. Miami is beating the teams they are supposed to beat the way they are supposed to beat them. This game is more of a legitimacy question for Philly. They have barely beat five bad teams and lost to a team they were supposed to beat. Personally, I think Miami crushes them and we will hear the laments of their women and children.
Phel, I’d be fine with a hard fought loss. I just want to see us compete, not get blown out.
If we’re there at the end against the SB runners up in their home, that’s showing we belong.
And if we blow them out, then we can all just pretend I said any of this, lol.
*didn’t* say any of this
😂
I agree to some extent. However, we need to prove it to ourselves. I don’t give a shit about anyone else…lol. Laying an egg will result in a beatdown.
If we’re in the game in the last 2 minutes, win or lose, that’s improvement and proof to ourselves. A WIN would be taking the next step closer to the best record in the AFC.
Expected to be a low of 48 and a high of 60 and clear skies Sunday night
Great football weather
Piggy, I agree on this not necessarily being some kind of prove it game. The Eagles are a good team and they’re home. The way I look at it if we lose, just don’t get blown out.

My score prediction is 33-20 🐬
Here’s how we get to that score
Waddle 2 receiving TDs – 164 yards. His best game
Hill 1 receiving TD 98 yards. His worst game of the season
Mostert 1 rushing TD, 145 rushing yards, 23 reffing yards
Tua 3 TDs 0 ints over 350 yards passing
Berrios returns a punt for a TD and has over 70 yards receiving
Chase Claypool and Jeff Wilson jr get their first action of the season – but they total less than 40 yards combined
Eli 🍎 – yes him – created a big turnover
Philips (and this prediction is for Mike) 2 sacks including 1 for a safety
Seiler 1 sack
Chubb 1 sack
Kahou 1 sack
But the biggest prediction – this is the David along Jr. Breakout game
Long gets double digit tackles and is all over the field
The eagles have the #2 rushing offense in the league
They will try to run
They will try to slow the game down
Hurts will have many designed runs
This is where Long is a difference maker and the Fangio defense takes a steps forward
Also – 1 Sanders FG
Hurts’ theme song Sunday
That selection is very apropos considering Hurts and the Eagles are the progenitors of the ‘Tush Push’ 🤣🤣
Huge deal that Connor Williams is practicing. Hopefully he can play this week. Eich did fine last week against the Panthers, but he got killed against the superior interior rush of the Bills. Eagles are another team that has a strong interior rush so it’d be nice if Connor is a go.
X is a big deal too. It’ll be interesting to see if Fangio has him shadowing Brown. He admitted it was a mistake not to have him shadow Diggs.
Elliott has been a real solid pickup.
Yeah Elliot is keeping Jones off the field.
Great profile. I didn’t know all about his story.
X is a big deal too. It’ll be interesting to see if Fangio has him shadowing Brown. He admitted it was a mistake not to have him shadow Diggs.
————————-
I’d say no. Unlike the Bills, the Eagles have another explosive WR opposite Brown in Devonta Smith.
Either way, I see the Eagles trying to exploit Apple.
Opposing offenses so far this year
The Bills #2 WR Davis is explosive too and has more yds than the Eagles Smith. And Brown has more yards than Diggs.
It’s not even a given Howard plays though, and Fangio doesn’t like to shadow, so it’ll be interesting to see.
Davis has 341 yds and 16.2 yds per catch
Smith has 334 yds and 11.9 yds per catch
Goedert is questionable for the game at this time.
Yeah, he’s been limited in practice. Eagles are probably more banged up than we are.
I figure we’ll see Jeff Wilson for the 1st time this year. Hopefully he can go two games before he gets injured again. Give us time to get Achane back coming out of the bye.
Fucking drive me crazy when I type a hole god damn paragraph and hit “reply” (WTF is that about anyway, it’s not a reply) and then I get an error message “sorry you have to log in before posting” When my avi already showed in the bottom left. Then you have to hit “go back” and the entire paragraph is gone. rabble rabble rabble
Anyway, I wrote something like this before it was deleted.
I am so glad Austin Jackson is finally playing well. He’s still not a top 10 RT but at least he isn’t a liability anymore. He had to wait until his contract year to show up which sucks, but hopefully he continues to progress!
He was banged up a lot.

Wynn, Williams and Hunt on the interior have been very good. That’s a nice group.
We’ve gotten good contributions at all spots. We should be able to re-sign Jackson at a decent price, and if Eich can continue to grow as our backup center we might actually be really set at oline for the next couple years.
We’ll have to re-sign Williams too, and he wants top of the league money.
If that all works out, we can focus on the middle of our defense at the top of next year’s draft.
All of whom were Tackles at the collegiate level.
I suppose we can add Eich to that mix as well: a former Tackle at the collegiate level who now plays on the interior.
Hunt is a FA and a must re-sign.
our entire offensive line, except for the guy who never plays because he is always hurt, are free agents next year…
Man, it is going to be so hard to have to wait all day on Sunday for our game, lol.
I’m usually up around 6:30 or 7 in the morning and I don’t even have an early game this week to keep me busy. Maybe I’ll have to do a slow cook on the smoker.
Next year is really going to suck having to wait when we have 8 primetime games during the season.
😂
I love me some coach Campbell. Nothing would make me happier than to whip the Lions in the Super Bowl.
Stephen A Smith enrages me. He is such a clueless fuck. Pompous ass know nothing POS. They were talking about Miami vs Philly and that POS is losing his mind that Miami hasn’t beaten anyone. Hey dick face! Who has Philly beaten? SAME 1-5 pats, a 2-4 vikings team and three 500 teams. Philly hasn’t proven anything. THEIR test comes this weekend. A test they will fail and numbnuts like Stephen A will make excuses.
I can’t watch him. He comes across as if his opinions are most important and his voice is annoying.
I’m not too focused on our offseason but as far as FA we need to retain core players. If that means moving on from some solid players that are less priority so be it. There are ways to replace 2nd tier positions not too costly.
I didn’t realize or forgot that Hunt is a FA. He’s going to get big money too. The other guys we should be able to sign to decent contracts, but Hunt and Williams will be near the top of their respective pay scales.
They deserve it.

Obviously the Eagle in Rock’s prediction is flying into the score to die
that can’t be a reflection of the winning team
Man, I really wish we could edit for like 5 minutes after we post something. Perfectly good joke delivery marred by an erroneous ‘t’

So my man leagues schedule got all fucked up and we are playing games out of sequence. I just finished my game against the Jets on Black Friday and cream them 30 to 3. I am eight and oh baby oh baby oh baby in my league. Mostert is going to break LaDainian Thomason’s record in my madden realm. He already has 24 in week eight. And has averaged over 8 yards per carry. I know he’s not real. He’s my madden Mostert, but all the same Yeehaw it’s fun playing this game again. Probably how it’s been for the patriots fans for 20 years.
Aaron Rodgers was fully healthy but my buddy couldn’t do anything with him 153 yards in zero touchdowns three interceptions. 😂😂😂🔥 also Ramsey is playing he got two of those interceptions triangle button, triangle button triangle button triangle button
Well, we are playing way out of order. That games week 11. 🤣

Great profile. I didn’t know all about his story.

Great profile, indeed! Just another example of people being able to be redeemed.

I didn’t post a blow out score. Less than a TD. I just think Philly is the deeper team and has a better defense with an offense that will score on our shitty Defense. Why do predictions at all if all you want is confirmation bias go back to your Facebook echo chamber.
^ my same fears
I’ll tell you what. IF it happens I will celebrate being wrong.
