Dolphins scorched by Ravens

There are so many storylines coming out after this game, it obviously did not go as we all hoped it would. I mean there’s the “Any given Sunday” mentality that gives you hope for games like this, right? The problem is, the Ravens are a very well coached team, and in addition to that, they have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. I had mentioned in my previous article that Lamar Jackson is simply the most talented and dangerous player on the field. He proved that yesterday, posting an absolute perfect passer rating of 158.3, finishing 18 of 21 for an easy 321 yards and 5 TD’s, 0 INT’s. He also picked up 35 yards rushing on 6 carries. Back to coaching. John Harbaugh is a really good coach, and his system is firmly entrenched now, he’s been the Head Coach of the Ravens since 2008, and he’s been breaking down the Dolphins all this time. Early in his coaching career taking down Chad Pennington in a playoff game in which he put into effect a defense in which Chad Pennington was stymied. They had defenders all within 20 yards from the line of scrimmage in order to dare Pennington, who due to many injuries simply couldn’t throw deep with any pace, try to beat them deep, and easily contest any short to medium passes. The Ravens won that game 27-9 and Pennington couldn’t operate effectively with the short to medium passing zones clogged and he threw 4 INT’s in the loss.

For those Dolphins fans with short memories, I’ll remind you that this past Sunday’s beatdown was not the worst at the hands of Harbaugh and the Ravens. September 8, 2019 the Ravens shellacked us 59-10. This was the worst beatdown. Or maybe the 40-0 shutout in 2017 was worse, despite the lesser disparity in points.Maybe it was the 38-6 loss in December 2016 when the Dolphins went into Baltimore as playoff contenders at 7-4. The point is, the Ravens have been kicking our ass for a long, long time. It’s why I hate them more than any other team in the NFL, including our division rivals Patriots, Jets and Bills. They seem to always be lurking when we’re feeling a little proud, looking like a contender, and the Ravens, the big bullies are always eager to put us right back in our place, and John Harbaugh is the man behind that.

As good a Head Coach as Mike McDaniel is, he simply hasn’t had a system in place for a long enough time. There’s a reason the Ravens are perennial playoff contenders, because they’ve had the same Head Coach and system in place for 15 or more years. The Dolphins have been churning and burning through Head Coaches since John Harbaugh started in Baltimore to the tune of Tony Sparano, Todd Bowles, Joe Phibin, Adam Gase, Brian Flores and then finally, Mike McDaniel. Perspective is necessary here, that’s 6 Head Coaches for us, 1 for them. Continuity is a wonderful thing, although sometimes things do get stale. Not so for John Harbaugh who owns a 160-98 record, an amazing .620 winning percentage. The Dolphins, with their 6 different Head Coaches managed a 127-131 record in that same time span good for a .492 winning percentage.

I know yesterday’s game has left you feeling down, and besides the loss in the game, the loss of 2 more defenders (Chubb) and (Howard), you feel let down again. Just keep in mind that our Head Coach is in his second season and is already 20-14, with 2 consecutive playoff berths. How about looking at the positives? We need to get better and especially younger at CB. Cam Smith has been a huge disappointment, making basically no impact this season as he’s battled injuries. Xavien Howard has also been fighting off groin injuries, knee injuries and other nagging injuries for the last few years, we need to find his replacement. The fact that we have been able to do so well on the O-line with a collection of 2nd and 3rd string linemen makes me think that CB may again be a priority next season.

I’m not going to touch too much on next week’s Sunday Night matchup against the Bills now, I’ll save that for the next article. Players like AVG, Melvin Ingram, Emmanuel Ogbah are veterans who have been through games like this before. The good thing is that Cameron Goode will be getting a lot of reps and hopefully he can understand his role better going into that big showdown in Miami. We only have one LB that could potentially be promoted from the Practice Squad, that’s LB Quinton Bell. Just some quick info on Quinton Bell who was a former college WR before switching to defense his last year at Prairie View A&M and getting drafted in RD 7 by the then Oakland Raiders in ’19. Bell 6’3 253 ran a 4.48 40 at 238 pounds and has rare athletic traits posting a 41.5″ vertical, very twitchy athlete with excellent closing speed. Who knows, maybe we catch lightning in a bottle with one of these kids? All we can do now is hope. hard Rock will be rocking, and let’s face it, the Bills are not the Big Bad Bills. This game is in OUR house for the division, I think we’ll be ready to win this game! LET’s GOOOOOO!

Meh, Dolphins worked out 7 free agents on Tuesday

    OT Isaac Alarcon
    ©Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
Alarcón, 25, was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of ITESM in 2020 as a member of the league’s International Player Pathway Program coming from Mexico. He’s never played in a regular season game, but he was a fan favorite on “Hard Knocks” a few years back. This past offseason, he did try to move to defensive line, so it’s unclear where Miami tried him.

    DE T.J. Carter

Carter, 25, went undrafted out of Kentucky in 2020 and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals. He spent his first two years between Arizona, the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2022, he played for the Michigan Panthers of the USFL. He recorded 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks in nine games. Carter played in two games with the Rams over the last two years but didn’t record a stat.

    WR Gavin Holmes

Holmes, 25, went undrafted this past year out of Baylor and signed with the Tennessee Titans. He was released during roster cuts. At Baylor, Holmes recorded 72 catches for 927 yards and seven touchdowns in 31 games.

    DT Daviyon Nixon

Nixon, 25, was a 2021 fifth-round pick by the Carolina Panthers after a collegiate career split between Iowa Western and Iowa. He played in 14 games over his first two seasons with Carolina, recording 15 tackles and a half-sack. After he was released by the Panthers, he spent a week with the Seattle Seahawks.

    OL Jason Poe

Poe, 25, was undrafted in 2022 after a collegiate career where he played at Hutchinson Community College, Lenoir-Rhyne and Mercer. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers and spent his rookie season on the practice squad. He was released ahead of the 2023 season and signed with the New York Jets practice squad before he was cut in November.

    WR Mathew Sexton

Sexton, 26, played collegiately at Eastern Michigan before going undrafted in 2020. He spent his rookie offseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers and his second year with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played with the Vegas Viper of the XFL in 2023, recording 23 receptions for 326 yards in eight games. This year, he split time with the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots.

    OT B.J. Wilson

Wilson, 25, was signed by the Carolina Panthers this past offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Quincy University, becoming the first player from the school to make the NFL. In college, he was All-Conference in his last three seasons. Wilson was waived before the start of the regular season.

Some kid is in one huge heep of trouble.

“Davie Fire Rescue has determined the cause of the fire at Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s mansion, labeling it an “unintentional, accidental” incident caused by a child playing with matches or a lighter.”

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I love tyreke hill and I don’t want to poke fun at some
      One’s personal life

But given the paternity suits he is involved in, my first thought was

      “Who’s kid was it”

Now seems like the perfect time for Hill to look into birth control…

  3. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

WR Matthew Sexton ran a sub 4.35 at his pro day. He’s a good returner also.

  4. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

WR Gavin Holmes runs in the low 4.3’s. He was a sixth year senior due to 2 ACl injuries during his college career. Also a returner.

  5. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I like DT Daviyon Nixon, 6’3 305. Wears his weight well and athletic. He could be a late bloomer like Seiler.

M13 and Brian might remember him with his 71 yard pick 6 vs Penn State. Seems like a good dude also.

  6. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

WR Tyreek Hill was not seen at Thursday’s practice following the accidental fire at his home on Wednesday, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported.

  7. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Josh Allen has gone 3-0 against Fangio in his career. He was injured as a rookie in 2018 when the Bills faced Fangio, who then was the Chicago Bears’ defensive coordinator, but Allen faced Fangio two other times prior to this season — and neither went that well. Allen beat Fangio’s Broncos twice, in 2019 and 2020, throwing for a combined 544 yards and four TDs and rushing for an additional 89 yards and two scores in those games.

Good coaches and schemes are all fine and good but it always comes down to good players. We’re losing too many. We’ll see if backups are up to the challenge and the good players we still do have step up. That’s the reality. FinsUp!!!

  10. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I am pissed off it is a Sunday night game. Now I have to wait up until midnight (and be wound up after so I can’t sleep) to watch our team get their ass kicked. Why can’t it be at 1pm? I hate night games. They run too long and end too late!

  11. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I’m not even going to watch it. I’ll record it and watch if we win. I am going to enjoy my Sunday night and be rested Monday morning at work.

I am silly for being pissed off at the team for meeting my expectations. (11-6 prediction) They could have done better. We SHOULD have beaten Tennessee and have the Division and #2 seed wrapped up. Now we will be one and done again. (two first round exits from the playoffs is better than not making the playoffs, but only marginally .)

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

and we are going to be in cap hell and need to have a fire sale to field 53 next season! Going “all in” for a wild card loss should get Grief fired.

You blame Grier for injuries? This team has 11 wins. 🤔

Hey y’all… especially you local folks in or around Miami. Have any of you heard the story of the MASSIVE(!!!) police response on Jan 1, 2024 to the mall in Bayside? First time I’ve heard of it, just today.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

All I can find in official reports is there were several teens (aged 14-16) armed with sticks and fireworks. Fireworks went off (explaining said ‘gunshots’), and the police came out in force like that??? I’m sorry, that ain’t the real story.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      I haven’t heard

But I really hope it’s aliens

If it is, I welcome them with open arms or tentacles or whatever…

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Lots of conclusions are pointing to a potential alien encounter that day. I dunno… I’m not suggesting anything more than I think the official record is BS.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I always question stories like this – why are there never any videos of these types of occurrences? In this day and age everyone rips out a cell phone and starts recording.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Right?!! Seems a lot of items were confiscated and intentionally powered down that day. Nothing is adding up to me.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

That, and there is an extreme suppression going on regarding what people have tried to show via social media that day. Why?

    • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

It was over a hundred teens brawling in an outdoor mall. No aliens involved unless they were of the illegal variety.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Technically even space aliens would be illegal. Because our immigration laws do not have a pathway for space aliens.

It’s very important to say this… Vic Fangio has had more success in the NFL as a DC than every single pundit, critic, analyst, commentator, and columnist… COMBINED.

    THAT’S REAL!

That stated, if X is a ‘no-go’ for Sunday (looks that way), I honestly feel Ramsey should be on Diggs all night come Sunday. Why? Eli Apple is NOT going to be able to support Ramsey on the opposite side of the field, whereas a healthy X would be able to… that’s part of Fangio’s system: support.

Please, Vic Fangio… realize that if X is out, you’ve GOT to have Ramsey on Diggs all game.

Video shows someone doing this or that but a judge may make that not admissible because it wasn’t acquired the right way. Is a camera on a building or light post showing reality not really justice? He or she definitely did it but it can’t be used in court. What?🤔

But on the serious tip, something triggered that kind of police response. NOT saying it was ‘aliens’, something supernatural, or the like… but something happened that is being covered up.

Don’t know what it is, but the cover-up story is a true insult to anybody who can read!

NFL Week 18 bold predictions: Justin Fields artfully ends Packers’ season; Bills blow out Dolphins AGAIN

    Marc Ross
The Bills blew out the Dolphins, 48-20, in their first meeting back in Week 4. The Dolphins are fresh off being absolutely obliterated by the Ravens — and with the AFC East title on the line on Sunday, they won’t be able to rebound. For the second time this season, Buffalo destroys Miami, winning by at least 25 points to take the division.

    Matt Okada
Josh Allen faces the Dolphins twice a year. In the five prior instances of their second meeting of the season, Allen is 5-0 with 19 total touchdowns. This Sunday night, a Bills win would secure the No. 2 seed in the AFC … while a loss could mean Buffalo misses the postseason altogether. Allen will step up once again, with six total touchdowns (four by air, two by ground) in a critical road win to pave Buffalo’s playoff path.

Regarding the strange shit that happened in Miami. It is weird no news outlet is covering it.

    – Over 70 police vehicles respond to “teens fighting at the mall”
    – Police scanner was shut down, no one could hear anything on their scanners
    – At that time, all in bound and out bound traffic was halted at Miami International Airport
    – Power was cut off in a radius large enough to cut power to over 61,000 people in that area

All that for teens fighting at a mall with fireworks?

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Plenty of news outlets covered it. Do a google search and you’ll see numerous news outlets covered it. It was a fight between 2 groups of teenagers. 4 were arrested. There was such a large response because the teenagers were throwing fireworks at one another so it was reported as gunshots so there was terrorist attack in progress on New Year’s Day. It would be far more unlikely that an Alien civilization would choose to reveal itself at a mall
