2024 Season – Game 6 – Dolphins @ Colts

The Miami Dolphins go to Indianapolis after the BYE week with an opportunity to get back to .500 and even their record to 3-3. QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley is in line to start, but backup QB Skylar Thompson, recovering from a bruised ribs, should be able to be the backup QB. Injuries aside, this game goes way beyond just our players injuries. Somehow, we plodded past the inept New England Patriots and won that game 15-10. We have won 2 games so far, and in neither victory did this team resemble in any way the high flying offense from last season where the team scored 496 points and scored an average of 29.2 PPG. So far this season the Dolphins are averaging a paltry 12 PPG, the leagues worst. For reference, the Carolina Panthers have their backup QB in, and the Panthers are just awful by the way, yet somehow the Carolina Panthers with Andy Dalton have scored 22.5 PPG in his 4 games that he’s played. Take away our season opener where we erupted for 20 points, we’re scoring 10 points per game. This with WR’s Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, RB’s De’Von Achane, Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright all sharing time. No bueno, and people, people meaning our coaching staff, and the players, need to be held accountable.

It looks like the Colts will be going with QB Anthony Richardson on Sunday. He’s been out for 3 games, and in his stead, QB Joe Flacco was killing it! Flacco in 3 games has completed 71 of 108 pass attempts with 7 TD’s and 1 INT. The Colts want their 1st RD pick back on the field, so despite the success Flacco has had, they’re back to Richardson. Richardson has struggled this season and despite the fact that he’s 2-2 this season, he has completed 50% of his passes with 3 TD’s and 6 INT’s. That’s more in line with our QB’s, so maybe the playing field is level for a change. The big difference is QB Anthony Richardson has a very high ceiling, and is a very athletic QB, while you can’t say that about either of our QB’s Tyler Huntley or Skylar Thompson.

One thing that’s just about impossible to me is the fact that last season, our TE room didn’t catch one TD. Well, guess what? We brought in TE Jonnu Smith who was supposed to be a big part of the offense, especially if WR’s Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were getting shut down. Guess what again, they’ve been shut down ALL SEASON! Still, no Dolphins TE has caught a TD last season or this season through 5 games. Could this be the week? Don’t bet on it, but you never know. Good news for the offense is RB’s Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane are both going to play, along with promising rookie Jaylen Wright.

The defense is right smack in the middle statistically this season, but when the offense can’t sustain drives and turns the ball over, that puts more pressure on the D, and of course they’re out on the field much longer than they should. We’re giving up 22.6 PPG, which I feel is acceptable, considering once again how poor the offense has been. HC Mike McDaniel had the BYE week to come up with ways to get this offense going with QB Tyler Huntley, and then of course the likely return of QB Tua Tagovailoa from a concussion, at the Fest game against the Arizona Cardinals. This offense has to start showing some life, or the Head Coach, despite getting an extension, should be in danger of losing his job. The best player on this has been 39 year old DL Calais Campbell. Hands down, he’s had the biggest impact. He and his opposite DE Zach Sieler. Both players are getting it done, my fear that Sieler would suffer without DE Christian Wilkins was probably accurate, because Calais Campbell has been that good. Unfortunately, Campbell has made it clear this is his last season, so next year it’s going to need to be a priority of sorts, although QB, and O-line will be much higher priorities out of necessity.

If WR’s Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have pride, and I believe they do, these guys are going to have to start to make an impact. I understand they rely on the QB, but they have to be better. We can’t fall to 2-4, and then expect the fragile QB Tua Tagovailoa to take this team the playoffs. They need to get themselves in gear and start scoring TD’s. Get the TE involved, maybe even get them a TD. When Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane are healthy, they make a difference, they give this offense some electricity, but they need the star WR’s to be much more involved in the offense and scoring.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

Huntley lacks Tua’s confidence to let it rip into a tight space. Not necessarily a bad thing as he doesn’t have Tua’s accuracy

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes.

It’s absurd when a receiver can’t even line up behind the ball.

    3 penalties this drive 🤯

  11. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I can’t wait until Tua gets back so the whole team can stop with all these mistakes and penalties…

Just to make people more upset, AVG already has another sack today.

  15. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Nice play to Ingold. Big opportunity here. Get at least 3, go up two scores, and get the ball first next half.

  16. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Defense has been solid. I don’t even mind the missed sacks; that’s what Richardson brings.

    (Piggy polishes his conch)

  18. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Nice drive. A little conservative on clock management. They could have had more shots in the end zone but I am not going to complain about 10-0

  19. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Fucking ridiculous

  20. Ken's avatar Ken says:

There is our D being soft again when it matters

Of course another long FG against us

  22. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

If you told me we’d be up 10-3 and we scored an offensive TD throwing a TD to our TE, I would have signed up for that for sure! Baby steps, considering the product of football we’ve been putting out there

  23. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    Fucking Hill

I have no faith we can execute anything. I’m literally expecting disaster on every play in every phase. It’s a nice surprise when we don’t eff it up.

  29. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Nice stand by the D after the TO

  30. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Let’s see what MM’s response is to this. Can we get a TD drive here?

  31. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

This game has been ripe for us to win, but you just can’t make this many mistakes.

And Mostert has lost a step. I’d rather see the new kid with Achane. Move Mostert to #3

  32. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    Tide has turned

  33. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t understand why they are allergic to crossing routes and slants

just a couple of quick throws

  34. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

And Huntley really can’t do much with the ball in play, only off script.

  35. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    A good ST’s play? O-M-G

  36. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    Huntley is not very good.

  37. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Mostert had 49 yds of bruising running called back by two penalties.. I think he’s okay.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The running game has been there all day if not for mistakes. Mostert has looked a step slower all year. I’d rather see the new kid over Mostert at this point, because he’s produced every opportunity he’s gotten, and of course Achane is #1. Not saying Mostert is bad, he just doesn’t have that same burst this year.

  38. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    I think forward pass

  39. Ken's avatar Ken says:

  40. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    ——————————

Agreed. The defense did enough. We lost because of mistakes on offense, two TOs by our RBs that took points off the board and gave them a short afield TD, and another missed FG by our kicker.

  84. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Boyle throws a prettier pass but he is not better than Huntley. That is not saying much

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Boyle is probably the worst qb to ever play the game

he shouldn’t be on an nfl roster

      Huntley is a better QB

the fact that we signed Boyle at all is troubling

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

yeah, I am not even entertaining this pathetic argument by both of us

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Huntley can only make throws off script, but I’d rather have him in there than Boyle when we’re running like we did today. But when we need to pass the ball and can’t run, I’d rather have Boyle.

I can’t believe I typed ‘rather have Boyle’. That shouldn’t ever be in the vocabulary; it shows you the state of our QB room, smh.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Huntley has shown nothing to say he is better.

That said, you’re right, it’s not saying much.

  85. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    We scored 10 points…lmao. D’s fault. .

  86. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Minny about to lose. Leaves just KC as the last undefeated going against SF today.

  87. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

We would have lost by more if Flacco got the start.

  88. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Bills get to cake walk into the playoffs this year.

  89. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Bills walking all over that team that walked over the Dolphins.

  90. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I think we would have won if Boyle started

  91. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Only 1 undefeated left but I really don’t care anymore

  92. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

CHOP sucks! He is a major liability vs the run. Fuck his pressure rate

  93. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

When you watch the game are you confident we can throw a pass beyond 10 yards? I’m not, that’s all you need to know. Our offense is running at less than 50%.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The QBs had plenty of time to throw. They don’t have confidence in themselves to go down the field. We’ve seen it 4 games in a row.

If you want to blame anyone for anything, we don’t have a competent backup QB. You can’t win with these guys.

  94. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Bottom line, offensive penalties was the difference in this game

  95. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Throw the fucking ball in the end zone!!!

  96. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You can’t expect Tua to come in and be the savior, let alone make it through a game
