20 days to go until the 2025 NFL Draft, where basically our entire season is hinged upon. Normally that’s not the case, but this team still has so many holes, and some of those holes are bigger than others. We legitimately need a starting player at LG, LDE, CB, S, and then of course we need depth at a few positions as well. I know some feel CB is the most important spot to fill and I can’t say they’re wrong, it’s all a matter of opinion. Others feel DT/DE or S are the most important, I see mock drafts with safeties and cornerbacks as our pick at #13 quite often (I scream inside my head BTW). Then there are those who feel OL is the top priority, and you can count me at the top of that crew. Right now, considering it looks very much like LT Terron Armstead isn’t returning in ’25, we have LT Patrick Paul, no LG, C Aaron Brewer, RG James Daniels, and RT Austin Jackson. Consider this, despite the glaring hole at LG, we’re going to be starting Patrick Paul at LT who played 337 snaps there last season, including 3 game starts. C Aaron Brewer is an undersized move center at less than 300 lbs, maybe even less than 290 lbs, and then we have RG James Daniels returning from an achilles injury. At RT, Austin Jackson is also retuning from a knee injury which cost him 9 games last season. Think of how very tenuous all this looks. No matter how I think about it, we have to put a put a top prospect for the O-line on this team to play LG. Then we have to draft another one for depth, because how many times do we have to watch the attrition on our O-line? Will James Daniels be healthy enough to start right away and healthy enough to finish? Is Patrick Paul really ready now after redshirting due to Terron Armstead? Is Austin Jackson OK from his knee injury and can he return to 2023 form?
Armand Membou heads my list, he just feels right. If he’s there at #13, I’d be absolutely thrilled. There are 2 other OL that I’d have to stay put at #13 and grab them, OL Will Campbell and OL Kelvin Banks. If somehow all 3 were gone, that would likely push a really good player to us, and if it fell that way, and CB Will Johnson is there then so be it. If we trade back, instead, I think O-line first is off the table unless the player meets the need. There are a few lesser OT prospects like Josh Simmons and Grey Zabel that may fit that criteria, but we shouldn’t reach there. Maybe we go DT or S or CB first, and if that’s how it goes that’s fine, but I’m probably taking two OL and not too far apart. I think it’s safe to say that no one here wants to see Liam Eichenberg starting on opening day at LG.
The veteran route. There are a players at both CB and OL that I feel I’d be good with signing. The bigger issue is how much. There are a few CB’s who will likely be pricy, but there are some older FA CB’s that wouldn’t be. If we had a rotation at the CB spot opposite Ramsey with say Jalen Mills or Stephon Gilmore, along with our young guys Storm Duck, Cam Smith, Isaiah Johnson, Ethan Bonner and Jason Maitre, along with a draftee in the mid to later rounds, maybe that works. Call me crazy, but I feel like the O-line is a lynchpin to the entire season. If it’s good, we may also be good as a team, but if it’s bad, I can almost guarantee you things will be bad here for our 2025 Miami Dolphins. I truly don’t think that one CB spot holds as much importance to our season. I don’t think either Jalen Mills or Stephon Gilmore will be uber expensive but they’re available now, but it’s possible they come off the market quickly after the draft after teams reassess their needs. No matter how many times I try to switch it up and justify taking a CB or DT first and I always regret it. Let’s hope we don’t all have that same regret.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

I absolutely love Dillon Gabriel, but methinks he’d be a wasted mid-round draft pick at this point. Now if he falls to late day 3, cool, go get him! He’s an absolute system fit for the McDaniel system.
McDaniel is going to have his hands full trying to tutor Zach Wilson.
I agree. There are some with potential who will be available in the end of the draft.
We will be drafting our QB of the future next year anyway. 😉
If we fail this season, ABSOLUTELY correct.
LSU TE Mason Taylor, the son of longtime Dolphins pass rusher and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, is scheduled to visit Miami, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported.
I was overlooking DT Joshua Farmer most of last year because FSU sucked so much. He is getting a ton of Top 30 visits along with Walter Nolen.
And those are two of my favorites for us: Walter Nolen and Joshua Farmer.
Omarr Norman-Lott is another.
Just went up to the top of the page and revisited Mike E’s ‘hotdog vs hamburger’ image.
Why is it that so many feel the need to garnish hamburgers with so many condiments, but not so much for a hotdog, I wonder?
I don’t really care one way or the other, but wassup with that?!! LOL
Where I come from, a hamburger has MUCH more flavor than a hotdog. Thus, we garnish the hotdog with ketchup and mustard much more than a hamburger.
M – I like my hot dogs with mustard, no sauerkraut, my burgers with bacon, cheese and ketchup
I mean, hotdogs are made out of “lips and assholes”… wouldn’t one want to cover that taste up?!!
Hamburgers have a real taste, to be savored by NOT killing it with extra condiments, right???
Hotdogs with yellow mustard and sauerkraut or spicy mustard and chow chow relish.
Hamburgers -bottom bun up – little bit of catchup and mustard topped with diced dill pickle, diced fresh jalapeno, chopped green onion, slice of cheese, well seasoned burger patty, second slice of cheese, finely chopped lettuce, diced tomato and spread on top bun is a mixture of mashed avocado and mayo.
IMO, a burger isn’t good unless you have a bunch of it on your shirt when you are done. lol

All good! I’m not big on sauerkraut, period… not even on New Year’s Day. And ANYTHING with bacon is GREAT!!! Apologies to our resident Pigster!
I can tell I’m getting older now… I’m actually talking about food on a football blog! 😉
Nothing wrong with it, either! Some of you guys really know your stuff!
Sometimes food is a better choice than the Dolphins! lol
There are a lot of teams who need a CB as a top need. The simulator usually only has 3 go in the 1st. That is what is wrong about them the most. IMO, Hunter, Johnson, Barron, Revel and Morrison all go in the 1st, possibly even Amos.
There are 9 teams who need CB as part of their top 2 needs, 4 of those it is their top need.
For that reason, I don’t see Hunter and Johnson making it past pick 9. Then, I think Barron goes to the Bucs at 19. Packers may go CB. I think the Vikings take Revel or a safety. I think Rams take Jihaad Campbell or CB. I think Ravens go Emmanwori or CB. Commanders need Edge but if the value isn’t there they will go CB. Commanders may be one trading up for an edge. Bills will take a CB, likely Morrison or Amos.
As far as the safties, I think Starks goes to the Bengals, Emmanwori to the Ravens and Xavier Watts to the Eagles.

I do that a lot when trading down and getting a bunch of extra day 2 picks. It actually allows you to go BPA easier having more picks early. I still think Morrison goes late 1st (see my last post) but I would not be against taking Morrison with our 1st if we still had that many day 2 picks.
Randy, there is usually a run on OL and DB in the 2nd round. Into the 3rd as well.
I see the run on DT between picks 25 and 50. I think the only trading up will be for Edge this draft.
I like burgers many different ways depending on my mood. Hot dogs; mustard, relish and sauerkraut, and chili cheese with ketchup and mustard. I like the onion sauce too.
I had to repost it:
Hotdogs with yellow mustard and sauerkraut or spicy mustard and chow chow relish.
Hamburgers -bottom bun up – little bit of catchup and mustard topped with diced dill pickle, diced fresh jalapeno, chopped green onion, slice of cheese, well seasoned burger patty, second slice of cheese, finely chopped lettuce, diced tomato and spread on top bun is a mixture of mashed avocado and mayo.

I dice or chop everything up or it has a tendency to slide off.
If I am using the Blackstone, once the burgers are done, I will put a small pile of shredded cheese on the griddle lay the burger patty on top then put more shredded cheese on top and cover it for about 30 seconds. Just have your bun already loaded for when you take it off the grill.
😂
At my age (48), I try to skip the condiments on burgers and hotdogs now. I’m still a sucker for cheese on my burgers, and I can finally eat hotdogs without any dressing.
*Joey Chestnut vibes* on the hotdogs! LOL
I just read that in Field Yates’ mock we drafted Will Johnson first and John Saviianaia in the 2nd
which is a pretty good 1 – 2
but the waiting to see who’s left before we pick in the 3d is gonna kill me
we gotta hope DL drops to the back end of the 3rd and then probably use the next couple of picks on DL and Safety
maybe a TE or a RB
but if we don’t take DL until round 3 we may have to make DL the next 2-4 picks for us..lol
thankful it’s a deep draft at DL
Give me Wyatt Milum over Saviianaia, and that’s a GRAND 1-2 punch!
And it would be absolutely outstanding if we had one of the DTs we’ve all talked about available in the 3rd round when we select.
I love a fried sunny side up egg on a burger
I’ve never tried that.. sounds great!
BBM : love the way ya described building the burger , bun up .. there is a process to be followed…
Burger: bottom bun whipped dressing or chipotle mayo, sweet relish, sliced raw onion, burger with cheese slice melted atop , on BBQ. Bacon if available , top bun hot sweet mustard, or regular mustard , ketchup on top of bacon or burger ….
Hot dog: Cheez whiz down middle hinge of bun , sweet relish on bottom, mustard on top, wiener into Cheez whiz, sprinkle diced raw onions, add horseradish sauce to one side of wiener, and ketchup in an s pattern length of wiener …. If I’m making a chili dog it’s a whole other entity 😎
Gonna have to try that hotdog. lol
You mention chipotle mayo on your burger. I actually use Dan-O’s Chipotle Seasoning on my burger patties.
Congratulations to UF for winning the the NCAA basketball tournament. To bad the refs took over in the second half making the game less exciting.
2025 Dolphins Draft Strategy: Defense Wins Championships
Dolphins need to fill 1 position on offense to turn things around but have many holes on the defense to fill for any kind of run.
https://dolphinstalk.com/2025/04/2025-dolphins-draft-strategy-defense-wins-championships/
Some interesting late round pick prospects. I bet Desmond Watson ends up being on the PS of an NFCE team and activated to the 53 whenever their team plays the Eagles. He would be an anti tush push chess piece.
https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/late_round_draft_prospects_the_dolphins_should_consider/s1_16637_42016567
A Dolphins Talk writer said the Dolphins should package pick 98 and a 4th to move up to get QB Milroe. WHY???
Why use 2 picks to take a player who is going to be a very high boom or bust risk when you have so many needs. His reason is he “could” be the next Jalen Hurts. I’m sorry but Milroe is no where close to where Hurts was when he came out of college.
Pass!
It just makes too much sense to sign OG Dalton Risner. I wanted the Dolphins to sign him last year. That’s why Grier won’t do it, it makes too much sense. SMH
“On his weekly segment on WSVN-7, Drew Rosenhaus – asked about Dolphins OL – mentions he has free agent Dalton Risner. He was PFF’s No. 22 overall guard last season and would make a lot of sense. Dolphins OL coach Butch Barry coached him in Denver. .. Another FA guard would be…— Barry Jackson”
It would allow us to focus heavy on defense early then draft guys like Slater, Grant, Brown, Kandra, Rivers, etc. in the 4th or 5th rounds.
https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/why_this_dolphins_draft_is_more_important_than_others/s1_16637_42020789
No question we must ace this draft, if we hope to be playoff contenders
That includes most likely 1 starter and a rotational player on DL, and at least 1 starting caliber DB
The D will falter badly, if we can’t stop the run or get consistent pressure on the QB, if we do get 2023 type pressure the secondary should be good enough as is
We should have the edge players to create a ton of pressure on the QB.
I am with Tim, we need a lunch pail, run stopping, space eating DT/NT like Tyleik Williams, Kenneth Grant or Alfred Collins. Dolphins seem to like Collins which is a good sign.
Spent an hour going through this mornings Dolphins news. Almost a total waste of time. Writers are running out of shit to write about, doing spins off other writers articles and putting out stupid trade proposals (not just on Tyreek).
One writer said the Dolphins should trade Picks #13 and #48, Kader Kohou, Malik Washington and Patrick McMorris to the Eagles for Pick #32 and Eagles starting LT Jordan Mailata to replace Terron Armstead.
I almost had to literally stop my head from spinning. How do you even come up with some shit like that? How much time of your life did you waste coming up with that? Probably as much time as BBM wasted reading and spouting off about it. lol
Let’s fill a hole on the OL that might not be a hole while not addressing the real hole on the OL while creating more holes along the roster (slot CB and WR3) while trading away a valuable pick that would be used to fill said holes. WTF!
Not once in the 11 paragraph article did it mention Patrick Paul.
SHWF!
SHWF = Should Have Went Fishing
lol
Now, if the plan was sign OG Risner then trade #13, #98 and Patrick Paul for #32 and LT Jordan Mailata, I’d be like Hell Yeah!
I think Mailata was the #1 ranked OT in the NFL last year.
is he having contract issues, if not why would they trade him
why don’t we just trade all of our picks for Mahomes
in general I just bypass any article in any sport, that has trade proposal in the title
good advice, lol

I don’t care too much for Nolen, but I’d take that draft
Wanted Zabel there but just missed.
Don’t think we trade back that far, hope we can get Zabel
Martinez from the U would be a great pickup
Collins reminds me of Calais
BTW, OT Jordan Mailata, the 2024 #1 OT in the NFL was drafted by the Eagles in 2018 in the 7th round at pick #233 overall and was part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, a former rugby player.
Come on Bayron Matos, make that jump!!
Like Forrest Gump said, the draft is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get. Something like that. lol
Alain and Chris Perkins were talking about the talent we’ve lost since 2023
Armstead, Calais, Hunt, Wilkins, X, AVG, Baker, Conner Williams… and only 2 replacements of note Brooks and Brewer
I’d say Chop replaced AVG
Paul replaced Armstead, availability considered
X was passes his prime, so his talent in 2023 isn’t missed
players age and/or move on, just the way it is
Jonnu and Ikhine are talents we didn’t have in 2023, last years draft 1 year in looks very promising
who don’t you like from this list?
EDGE Chop Robinson (Penn State), OT Patrick Paul (Houston), RB Jaylen Wright (Tennessee), EDGE Mohamed Kamara (Colorado State), WR Malik Washington (Virginia), S Patrick McMorris (California), and WR Tahj Washington (USC).
their list of players replacing those lost isn’t complete yet, we still have a draft and more FAs and UDFAs
Sure we’ve lost talent, Daniel’s isn’t Hunt, might not be that far off either though we’ll see
Every team loses players. The problem with the Dolphins was wasting draft picks the last 4 years.
I’d like to see Tanner Conner and Rucci given a chance and kick Julian to the curb, that guy needs to get his head out
also would like to see Bonner, Johnson and Maitre given a chance, think all 3 can play, especially with some passrush back
add in Kion and these guys need to take the next step for us to have a legit shot at a playoff win
and McMorris, think he’s going to be a Brandon Jones replacement
He played well down the stretch.
Velveeta cheese sauce over cheese wiz for hotdogs.
Nice

Meet Romulus and Remus—the first animals ever resurrected from extinction. The dire wolf, lost to history over 10,000 years ago, has returned. Reborn on October 1, 2024, these remarkable pups were brought back to life using ancient DNA extracted from fossilized remains. Watch the pups grow up and catch exclusive videos on our YouTube channel. https://youtube.com/@itiscolossal

While most intriguing, this is absolutely foolishness. This is Pandora’s box being opened and where it ends, nobody knows. That ancient DNA may have a very bad reaction to today’s world… either to the resurrected, to the general populous, or both.
And even if all is well in this given case, we’ll keep doing this until we resurrect something that contaminates life as we know it today… viral, bacterial, or otherwise.
Our immune systems have developed and adapted to today’s conditions… not those of 10,000 years ago and vice-versa.
Sorry for the scientific rant… I just find this to be disturbing while at the same time being fascinating.
Who knows… maybe ‘Bronto-burgers’ will be coming to a store near you in the future.

————–
Strictly out of curiosity and nothing more… why don’t you care too much for Nolen, Steve?
I realize I’ve the propensity to get stuck on certain prospects! That being said, I don’t want to be blind to warts… the warts need to be weeded out. I am aware of one unnamed source citing ‘character concerns’, and there was no elaboration on those concerns whatsoever.
Ya usually hear something to back up such claims. Such as late to meetings, enjoys the night life, undisciplined, domestic violence, gun charges, DUI/DWI, etc…
To date, I’ve heard nothing of the kind regarding Walter Nolen.
Annnnnd within the last hour, another trade take involving ‘Reek on Draft day.
SMH
And this time, it was reported that ‘Reek was 100% healthy in ’24. Uhh… NO, he wasn’t! That’s why he had surgery done to his hand (wrist) shortly after the season was over.
M13,
What would we do without your annual man crush on a guy with really good athleticism? It’s like Trump’s tariffs, as long as we know what’s coming everything will be just fine. Lol
I tried to tell you something was off with Nolen at the Sr. Bowl. If I could see it through the TV screen, I’m sure the coaches saw whatever it was. But, the reality is that he’s just a young kid and this sort of thing might be the impetus he uses to propel himself to greatness. He’ll get a shot. I don’t want any sort of malcontent or goober in the locker room. It’s already got plenty.
I’m just not seeing it, man. And regarding Senior Bowl practices, many pundits thought he did VERY well in the practices.
I both trust and value your opinion, Randy! There just seems to be a lot of discrepancies regarding the play of Nolen, from pundit to pundit. Perhaps that’s something I should pay attention to… his projected ceiling vs the here and now (though he’s not shabby in the here and now).
Rarely does anybody reach their pinnacle.
And YES(!)… you’ve pegged me correctly on the athleticism of prospects! 🙂
However, Nolen has produced!

LOL 😆
We should put tariffs on the Dire Wolf, so they don’t eat humanity out of existence. 🙂
Stock up for me: Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas.
If we don’t address the Safety position until late day 2, he’ll be the perfect centerfielder for us as a FS. Don’t mistake him as a SS with his 14.4 missed tackle rate (that’s not very good). However, he makes up for it with a 12.1 passer rating against him in coverage: 5 INTs and 0 TDs allowed last season for Texas.
IF he falls to day 3 of the Draft, I’d call him a priority draft selection.
Re-watching his tape, MAN can he ever fly to the ball. He covers so much ground and so quickly. Very quick, very decisive, and seems to be very football intelligent in reading the plays.
He’s been one of my favorites since January
Would be a really solid pick
^^^
Apparently the 🐬 have met with 4 OL prospects:
Kelvin Banks – which I can see as our pick at 13
Tyler Booker – I am surprised at this since he doesn’t have very good lateral movement and doesn’t seem like a good fit for us
Caleb Etienne – a day 3 6’7 OT from BYU. I’ve read that he’s a good athlete but again doesn’t have great lateral movement. Hard to imagine him moving inside to guard
And Nash Jones a Texas State OG / he really seems like the kind of OG that might be a good fit. He’s probably a day 3 prospect.
I also read that they met with PSU safety Kevin Winston
I’m really curious about that bc he may be available on day 3 as well

Nolan, Sanders and West would all be immediate contributors. All the sudden our DL depth would go from anorexia to Jabba
I got lucky in how the DT’s fell on this one for sure.
I would freak the F out if those were the names of our first 6 picks. lol
Actually, I like it top to bottom.
I don’t know that we need to draft a blocking TE after signing Pharoah Brown
but if we do I think Jackson Hawes would be a great pick. Maybe the best blocking TE in the draft
should be a late day 3 pick
We need to draft a TE as I have said before we have ZERO on the roster next year.
Hawes would be an upgrade over Julian Hill. Hawes is a decent receiver, he just didn’t get those opportunities with the system at GT. He will give you what Smythe did in the passing game.
Edge Ahmed Hassanein I think is really underrated. Maybe because he is still raw and has only played football for 5 years now. Dude is big and powerful, 6’2, 267, 34 reps at his pro day but also was ranked #1 in CrossFit in Egypt at the age of 16 before coming to the US and getting introduced to football. Only a starter the last 2 years at Boise State but had 22 sacks and 35 TFL over that time. The dude is hungry and is just scratching the surface, very high ceiling. Also a high character player who was a finalist for the Jason Whitten Collegiate Man of the Year.
Now one writer has the Dolphins using #48 to move up and select DT Mason Graham. That’s a stupid move. These writers are truly getting desperate.
we need 3-4 DL to add to the roster now
our whole draft will become Mason Graham instead of taking advantage of the deep draft for DL
giving up our 2nd for a need at DL leaves us nothing to address other needs except for a later 3rd. I would hate it
he’s solid, but no quick twitch
honestly moving down from 48 and up from 98 is probably ideal
Nah, just move up from 98.
I wish we’d stop being okay with just having an average roster. We need more impact players. Sure, you can get those throughout the draft, but you need to take guys when you have top 15ish picks. Most years…maybe not this one…you are gonna get a very good player inside the top 15….especially if you don’t count QBs which we aren’t picking at 13.
With the rules, how they officiate games and how the game has evolved, it’s become more about individual impact players and not so much complete teams. You used to be able to pretty much shut down any player, but you can’t now. High end QBs/WRs get calls and protection that other players just don’t. I hate it but it is what it is.
That’s all why I prefer to keep picks inside the top 10-15 range. Yes, maybe this year is a little different because the top end talent isn’t there. I still like to try to use those picks to get high end players. And, it’s a lot better to do it that way than trade for those guys later. I’m fluid with drafts but that’s kinda how I see things.
There are 8-9 players I can see staying put at #13 for, 3 of them are OL.
Oh Tyreek….can we move on from him already?
he’s got to go. Of course we will get a modest return for him after we gave up a ton and gave him a new contract.
Tyreek Hill again is making headlines — and for the wrong reasons.
The Miami Dolphins wide receiver was involved in a domestic dispute Monday at a condominium in the coastal town of Sunny Isles, according to an incident report.
Sunny Isles Beach Police Department responded following a report of an “assault in progress” just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Hill’s mother-in-law, Alesia Vaccaro, called police after she said Hill threw his wife’s computer on the floor, grabbed his 5-month-old daughter and started walking with her in his arms toward the balcony of their 35th-floor residence, according to the incident report.
Vaccaro has been living with Hill and his wife, Keeta, since the child was born in November and there have been frequent arguments. Keeta Hill told police that whenever she expresses her opinion “about anything they discuss,” Hill becomes angry and agitated and “throws objects around.” She said the two had been going to couples therapy but was in the process of filing for divorce.
Tyreek Hill said that on the day of the incident he returned from training and sat down to talk to his wife about their couples therapy sessions. He told police he did not like that she told him he was not involved enough with the daughter, according to the incident report, so he approached her, gabbed the baby and starting walking around the apartment. Hill told police, “I have the same rights as a father as her as a mother, and I can take my baby whenever I want.”
Both Hill and his wife told police the argument never became physical, even though officers noticed a bruise on Katee Hill’s upper chest, which she said probably happened when he grabbed the baby from her.
Keeta Hill declined to write a statement about the incident, and Tyreek left the residence in the presence of the officers a little less than an hour later.
I believe That’s Kenny Vaccaro’s sister
what do we take for Tyreek? A second? Not going to get much more. He’s become a major distraction.
Be lucky to get that. He’s a 1yr rental for a team. He be rather cheap for a team trading for him this year at under 15m but next year he would cost that team over 36m. Either way, he won’t be a Dolphin next year.
I’d say a 3rd.
what is his cap hit if we trade him?
However, this is a rather poor draft for WR and many teams have a need at WR.
Teams and their rank of need at WR (just went with teams that have WR in their top 3 needs):
Titans 3, Patriots 3, Raiders 2, Jets 2, Saints 3, Cowboys 1, Cardinals 2, Seahawks 2, Broncos 2, Chargers 2, Packers 2, Texans 2, Commanders 3, Bills 3.
That’s 9 teams who need a WR in their top 2 needs. Of those 9 teams, only Bills, Texans and maybe Denver don’t have enough cap to take on Tyreek’s contract. The rest do.
Come on Jerry, give us pick #76 for Tyreek.
Brian, trading Tyreek now would increase his cap hit this year by only 598K to a total of a 28.3m cap hit (current cap hit is 27.7m already).
The good thing about it is it would take him off the books forever and clear 51.9m in 2026 cap.
bye!
Good grief, ‘Reek… WTF?!!
BBM- the commanders have McLaurin and traded for Deebo. I don’t think WR is a huge need for them
I’ll take R3P68 from the Raiders for Tyreek.
Pete Carroll really does have a way with troubled players.
WOW, the Raiders need a WR in the worst way.
I do n
I do not think Tyreek brings back high draft compensation. It would be more about being relieved of headaches and salary cap.
Do ya think a 3rd rounder is fair compensation? I agree we aren’t getting a 1st or a 2nd at this point.
I think a 5th or less. He’s a pain in the ass, expensive and 31 who said he’s only playing a couple more years.
Aye… I did forget about Tyreek’s declaration of only playing a couple more years. That hurts his value, for sure.
If we need to prepare for life without Tyreek (hey, even if he’s with us in ’25, he’s gone after this season), don’t be surprised if we target a WR… and maybe even before day 2 of the Draft ends.
I HATE IT! We’re damned if we do, damned if we don’t!
Chris Grier was a FOOL to have given Tyreek his latest extension, just to keep Tyreek happy. 😡
And I really hate to say it, but I’m going to: I truly don’t see Jaylen Waddle as a true #1 WR. He’s probably the best WR2 in the league, but only with a true WR1 opposite him.
The compensation we gave up to get him was ill advised, to say the least.
We went for it and fell short. Now we have to figure out a way to get back in.
Agreed with you both, Brian and Tim.
Maybe a team like the Chiefs is interested in getting Tyreek back. Really any contender becomes a little more dangerous with Hill. I think we can get a 2nd or 3rd, despite his issues.
Love that train of thought, but the Chefs* have $5M less than us under the cap… they can’t afford him.
At least right now, the Chefs* can’t afford Tyreek. Could they cut a couple of players to make room for him? I dunno.
I DO agree with ya, Mike E, that we could possibly get a 3rd rounder in exchange for Tyreek.
Da Raidaz have the #2 amount of cap space to spend, and they really have no-name WRs on their roster.
Da Raidaz also currently have the #2 amount of cap space available in 2026 @ $168,649,090.
They can EASILY afford to take on Tyreek for the balance of his contract.
All I’d want in return is their R3P68 this year.
M – Agree, Waddle is a #2, much like DeVonta Smith. Nothing wrong with that, he’s a talented guy, just not an alpha and not as explosive as Tyreek Hill. Not many are
The Raiders already have a Tyreik, WR Tyreik McAllister. Are two Reeks better than one? lol
I know people are fed up with Tyreke
but did I just read that his mother in law called the police because he smashed a laptop and them picked up his baby
he’s not going to be charged with anything for that
It says it was not a physical altercation
Does it matter??? He’s an asshole, and he was an asshole to the team and his teammates at the end of the season. It’s one thing after another. I don’t want him arrested, I’d just rather trade him, get a little compensation, and try and work with what we’ve got. Like I said, we’re not winning with him anyway.
In fact, let’s trade him before this happens . . .
My position hasn’t changed
if some one gave us good draft compensation I would take it. But that’s probably not going to happen
but seems like a lot of people are just angry that the police were called to his house
yeah it makes a difference. I think people are overreacting bc they are sick of hearing his name. I’m sick of hearing his name too, but I don’t react to it
I’m not trading for him nothing, but if we got a decent offer (2nd or 3rd RD pick) I’d be right on that
Here, at least on the panhandle of FL, people are charged with Damage Property – Criminal Mischief all the time in domestic disputes for breaking something belonging to the other person. Actually, I am sure it was a rather expensive laptop which would make it a felony due to the value.
But, it is Tyreek, so he won’t get charged.
Though, cops here love to take someone to jail. DP/CM is almost daily money maker for us.
Who do you think purchased the laptop?
A man is allowed to break his own shit when ever he wants.

—————
They would be reeking with WR talent. 🙂
Cut him
Or not. 😜
Tyreek has $15,568,750 left in signing bonuses after 2025, that’s his dead cap hit, might as well play him this year, unless the trading team assumes the fully guaranteed yearly salary
if traded i believe we’d owe him an additional 7.4333m for 2025 cap bonuses paid, but not counted yet for a total dead money before this season of 23m
the trading team would have to pay his 2025 base salary, not sure what that figure is but it’s at least 15.85m plus min salary
if cut we’d have to pay his 2025 salary too
Yeah, there’s no way he gets cut. Even a post 6/1 release would hurt.
His base salary is 10m + a roster/game bonus of 1.8m. Though, reading up on it, I think the team trading for him would also be on the hook for his option bonus as it is not guaranteed until 8/31/25.
Used draftbuzz sim and traded Tyreek for #68 then traded down.

I’m assuming but I think it’s his own property
I replied the same up the page. A man can break his own shit whenever he wants.
I don’t agree that Waddle isn’t a #1 WR, his rookie season before Tyreek he was great
I can’t name 16 WRs better than him, let alone 32
He might not be a superstar, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a #1 WR
I agree
he just stepped back when Hill came here
he dan be a 100 catch guy
I have bigger concerns if we have a #2 than whether he can be out #1
Not sure about #2, but I do think NWI and Malik Washington are going to be good for us this year.
they are both going to productive – especially if we don’t have Hill
Generally I think offenses are a little more fluid than saying 1 and 2 receivers
so having a deep set of WRs has a lot of value / probably more value than having Tyreke Holl there ing to break 2000 yards
I would trade Hill for two second rounders round picks
I might even trade him for a 2nd and a 3rd
but I wouldn’t go any lower than that
and if that’s asking too much – maybe it is and the market doesn’t support that position
but keeping Hill also has value and to me that’s the rate where we begin to offset the value
BTW – the idea of having 3 second rounders without moving down from 13 is a dream to me…but that’s me
my biggest concern in terms of reading Hill (other than dead cap) is not of Waddle of for that matter Tua is up for an offense without Hill
it’s whether Mike McDaniel can run an offense without Hill or a WR like Hill
he’s been pretty inflexible at times
I don’t want trading Hill to open the door for the Dolphins to say we need to draft another guy than can run sub 4.35 or we can’t run the offense
if you are getting away from shill I think you have to be happy with the idea that we don’t need to add more blazing speed to the offense and can produce without 2 of the fastest WRs in the nfl on the field at the same time
To me, a #1 WR is a guy who can beat any coverage, including double coverage. A guy who makes contested catches consistently. Waddle isn’t that. He is best suited as a guy working off a #1 guy who’s drawing attention. He’s also not very durable. My #1 guy has to be playing a lot AND producing. His numbers have pretty much declined every year. Waddle has been able to work through some injury stuff, but he won’t be doing that in a few years. Plus, if he were the #1 guy, he’d be getting beat on a whole lot more. I don’t trust him to stay on the field.
Wow, I just read an article in the Miami Herald that said Armstead was told during the season last year that he needed knee replacement surgery, but he decided to play through it. He only missed two games last year. The man is a warrior! Now that he’s retired he can take care of himself and hopefully PP will grow into the replacement without a drop off. (An stay healthy so we can depend on him!) It sucked that Terron was so beat up all the time that he could never be counted on to play every game, but the guy obviously played through what he could!
Good luck Terron Armstead! Enjoy your retirement and being with your family.

Moved down 7 spots for an extra 2nd round pick. We HAVE to move down to get more players!
I like the idea of moving back to the 20s, it should get us a 2nd
sure would be nice to have 2 2s, and have our top 3 picks contributing right away
we don’t have to do anything though, we’re in a pretty good spot at 13
Writer for Clutchpoints feels OT/OG Will Campbell could very well be available at #13 citing the teams needing OL before the Dolphins need a true OT. They brought up the stupid short arm theory again.
I hope they are right though.
Honestly, If Will Campbell is there at #13, I am running to the podium. Then, with no trade down and if Nolen and Grant are gone by #48, I am taking Alfred Collins there.
I agree on Cambell, doubt he’s there though at 13
Yeah, no one is buying the short arm theory.
The Dolphins have only traded down 8 times in the 1st round since 1987. One of those 1st round trade downs involved a trade back up in the same 1st round (Waddle).
if you draft good you should have 5 1st rd studs on the roster every year
we’ve had those studs, but through high prices FA, that has cost us bigly
If we trade down, it will likely be because the prospects we valued there are gone by say 10, and the next crop of say 10, we have similar grades on.
M – just curious . . . You took a pretty strong stance that OT Armand Membou was riding a false high from the combine and that would die down before the draft. Do you still feel this way? I think he’s just about a guaranteed top 10 selection. I’d be thrilled however, if he’s there for us at #13
I’m certainly not dissin’ Membou, as he’s a solid player. However, yes, I maintain he may be artificially inflated due to his Combine numbers.
His tape didn’t ‘WOW’ me, to be sure… and I’d venture a guess that I’m not the only one who wasn’t ‘WOWED’ by his tape.
It’s difficult to predict these things, Mike E. Some teams put new generation stats and metrics above the eyeball test these days.
If I was GM of the Phins? I’d have a late 1st – early 2nd round grade on Membou… but that would be just 1 opinion of 32 teams. There could be a team that believes he’s worthy of being a top-5 pick. We’ll all find out together in 14 days from now!
But if we drafted Membou… I wouldn’t be mad about it, man.
the ravens gave up their whole draft to move up to 14 and I took it
unhappy about waiting so long to draft OL but I like the players I got and those safeties will be great
I’m not BIG on taking a Safety with our first pick, but this draft is pretty solid.
There’s always more than one way to skin a cat… and I think you found a way above!
I came in ready to go OL and 13 and all 3 we’re off the board so I shifted gears
I’ve become a fan of Zy Alexander recently
There might be 7 or 8 players I’d be good with taking in the 1st round (that includes a trade down), but there are plenty more I’d be absolutely furious with taking.
For instance…
— If we take another EDGE in the 1st round, I lose my mind.
— If we take a Center in the 1st round, I lose my mind.
— If we take a TE in the 1st round, I lose my mind.
— If we take a QB in the 1st round, I lose my mind (after paying Tua what we’re paying him)
— If we take a RB in the 1st round, I lose my mind
— If we take a WR in the 1st round, I lose my mind (contingent upon dealing Tyreek)
— If we take a Safety in the 1st round, I probably lose my mind
If it’s not a T/G, DT, or CB (in no particular order) in the 1st round, I probably lose my mind.
Regarding Safety? I’m good anywhere between rounds 2 through 3.
So how do we address T/G, DT, CB, and S with only 3 picks before day 2 ends? TRADE DOWN… only slightly, and if possible. Get that additional day 2 pick and get the BPAs at those positions.
Don’t reach for need at the top. We have plenty of mid round picks to address need. Select the best players early because you have to go by best talent available. We need impact players 1 and 2. Not developmental.

Terron Armstead was on the Joe Rose Show this morning, talking to Joe and Kim Bokamper. They asked Terron what he thinks about Patrick Paul, he said he thinks Patrick Paul is going to be a good player for the Dolphins, that he has the right attitude, he wants to be a good player, he asked a trillion questions, and he wants to learn. He said he will have learning moments, but he should be good despite that. He also talked about Chop Robinson and he was effusive with praise for Chop. He thinks he could be one of the top players in the NFL eventually and will have a great season for the Dolphins.
Patrick Paul is as important as anyone we draft. He played as a swing backup his first season with Armstead who is a class act mentoring him. We drafted him last year for this season.
Chop has big time upside, we’ll see how high he goes. His quickness and power is elite, it’s the finer points of the game that’s he needs to improve on. He got better as the season went on.
Said it before and it bears a repeat: IF Will Johnson, CB, Michigan, is there for the taking @ R1P13, I cannot see how we pass on him.
CB ~ DT > OG in terms of $$$.
Ever since we lost Lou Anarumo, I have no faith in developing a CB: Anarumo was most instrumental in developing Xavien Howard over his first 2 seasons with us.
But to be sure, Will Johnson >>>>> Iggy. Will Johnson should be able to flourish on his own without much development from our failed DB coaching over the years.
If Hill is traded before June 1, his cap number would go to $28.3 million for 2025 and then he’d be off the books.
— If Hill is traded after June 1, his cap number would drop to $12.7 million for 2025 with the same $15.5 million against the 2026 cap.

This morning I said 23m, must’ve missed a 5.1m void year signing bonus
good to know what the dead money actually is without speculating
my stance is might as well play him this year, if he’s going to count that much, he’s not a locker room bad egg, players like him as noted when 2 players stopped before game one last year during the police stop
what i like if we drafted Armand Membou is we could move Jackson to OG, since Membou plays RT
Membou is going to make a great guard in my opinion. I would play him at guard if we drafted him

REPORT: NFL Requested Audio of 911 Call from Tyreek Hill Situation
Even though no arrest was made on Monday, Tyreek is still subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy, which could lead to a suspension.
I would play Membou right next to Paul. That would be a massive left side right there. Both Paul and Membou at 332 each is 664 lbs of angry beef right there!
PP put up 30 reps with 36 1/4″ arms
Membou 31 reps with shorter 33 1/2″ arms. The “Randy” rule, Membou plays inside at OG. I think they could be a very formidable duo though.
me too
Membou moves really well too
all those outside runs and screens go from losing yards to creating 2nd and short
I think if the opportunity presents itself it’s hard to pass up on any of the big 3 OL at 13: Banks, Membou or Campbell
it’s possible Membou might be 3rd best OL – and that is saying something
it’s weird to me that all three of the top OT prospects project very nicely at OG…..it’s almost like….it was meant to be
(Piggy floats away into the clouds)
Just catching up on the latest Tyreek thing. If he was enraged enough to smash a laptop, he had no business picking up a baby. I’d have called the police too. Put his sorry entitled ass in jail. I am sooo done with his nonsense.
And WordPress sucks!
WordPress sucks, but don’t put Tyreek in jail, I want to get at least a measly 3rd RD pick in return for him getting the fuck outta town!
MikeE,
Hey! I am NOT a believer in the BS about short arms. Why is it the “Randy” rule? Lol
OK, I guess I mixed up your stance on that. Sorry bud!
Regardless, I would play Membou at LG, but if PP can’t hack it at LT, we can switch them, and that’s a nice luxury to have
I think you can’t underestimate the impact of picking a talented OL at 13 can have for us
for me , our biggest failure last season was our running game
and specifically it was all the negative runs on 1st down
we aren’t running up the middle, we are running outside a lot…and we sucked at it
a new OG paired with an inline TE (and I think we brought in pharaoh brown for this) is going to be a difference maker on first downs for us
imagine how much more effective we can be on 2nd and 3 instead of 2nd and 13
those 2nd and longs happened way too much last year
we have a lot of holes on our roster to fill, but changing our productivity on first downs, in spite of our holes, may completely change our offense
We are less likely than most porn stars to fill all of our holes….but I do think we can be a much better team on 1st down just by drafting one of those big 3 OL
of course a lot of this is contingent on Patrick Paul playing well, Austin Jackson continuing to get better, Brewer doing exactly what he did last season and James Daniels being healthy…
^ exactly! This is what I’ve been saying.
There really just aren’t any very athletic studs at OT in this draft. That’s why I’ve said I think Josh Simmons out of OSU is probably the closest to your classic LT. 6’5” and 317. He’s athletic. If he hadn’t gotten injured, he’d probably be the #1 OT in this draft, hands down.
Jackson isn’t an OG.
piggy,
Except Brewer is one of the biggest reasons we had no success at running inside on short yardage plays. One of the weaknesses of running an outside zone scheme is that it’s harder to pick up a yard or two by running outside. So, you try to get those couple yards outside…it doesn’t work…and you don’t have the scheme or players to run inside. Then what? You throw 25 outside WR screens.
M – As I’ve explained before, it’s not about the player, it’s about the team. We can make do with an average or even below CB this season, but this team can never be what we need to be on offense if we have an average or below average O-line. I think that’s really the crux of the issue. I know CB has a higher value than an OG, but not for us, not this year, not this team. We need to run the ball well and put Tua in favorable situations on offense. If our offense resembles last year’s, even when Tua was playing, we’re dead.
I’m 100% in agreement with this. We are gonna have holes. I think our secondary is gonna be a big question mark
but we can go from a bad running team to a good running team in one pick ( provided we stay healthy)
and we also have 3 very good pass rusher ( if healthy again) so if we make sure they are getting free by building our DL, I kind of think that’s our best chance for success in 2025
and that might mean we can’t take a CB with an early pick
then again, some one like Will Johnson is hard to pass IMO, but I would take any of those 3 OL before Will Johnson
PFF
You do not want to get in Kelvin Banks Jr’s way : http://pff.com/draft/guide
he’s such a good run blocker
When a pg dreams, that pig imagines this guy clearing the way for a RB that runs sub 4.4….
would be a perfect pick at 13
28. Benjamin Morrison CB Notre Dame
48. Wyatt Milum OG West Virginia
60. Alfred Collins DT Texas

155. Mitchell Evans TE Notre Dame
224. Howard Cross III DT Notre Dame
231. Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech
253. Kurtis Rourke QB Indiana
2026 DET 3rd
nothing too flashy, pretty solid though
every day it seems my draft thoughts change
IDK what we should do, so might as well just go BPA at OL, DT, CB, S with our first few picks
I don’t really think we need to take an S too high, but if Xavier Watts is there in the 2nd he’d be hard to pass up, unless of course we haven’t taken a DT yet and one of the top guys are there
can we afford to pass on a top OL at 13, even though a trade down might get us an additional 2nd?
I’d love to have Tyler Warren, hard to see us in a position where it would be justified, also signing Ikhine lessons the need for another large bodied receiver
