The Dolphins had pick #48, which was sixteen picks into the 2nd RD. After 4 selections were made, Grier lost his mind and traded up to get his guy, OT/OG Jonah Savaiinaeah from Arizona. Once again, Grier showed no patience, no discipline. The Miami Dolphins roster is so far from being one player away. As it turned out, no 1 offensive lineman of any kind was taken between pick #37, the spot that Grier traded up to and our original spot of #48. He’s done this many times before as well. In last year’s draft, he used this year’s 3rd RD pick to get into the 4th RD last year to draft RB Jaylen Wright. Did we actually use Jaylen Wright last season? 68 rushing attempts and 3 receptions. Jaylen Wright has a 4 year contract, and we basically redshirted him for his rookie season. That’s just awful management.
Here’s some perspective. The Baltimore Ravens, always considered a solid organization, owned the 29th pick in RD1. They stayed put there, and took the best safety on the board, Malaki Starks, the player they wanted. In RD 2, the Ravens stayed put at their pick (#59) and took an EDGE pass rusher that was supposed to have been drafted in RD1, but their patience was rewarded having a highly rated prospect fall into their laps in Marshall DE/OLB Mike Green. Even the Eagles, who just won the Superbowl, moved up just one spot in RD 1 to take the LB they wanted, Jihaad Campbell. In RD 2, they stayed put at Pick #64 and took the safety that so many love here, S Andrew Mukuba from Texas. Restraint, discipline, patience. Grier has none of these, and I also honestly wonder if he actually has a plan.
So now, our next pick is #116. We don’t have a starting CB, we have 2 safeties that have been backups but could be serviceable as starters. That’s part of the problem, once again. We’re trying to go on a playoff run and we basically made trades, we traded all our cap space and lots of picks to replace DT Christian Wilkins with DT Kenneth Grant, and replaced OG Robert Hunt with OG Jonah Savaiinaeah. WE gave Tua the huge contract, traded for Jalen Ramsey, gave him a contract extension just a few months ago and then a week before the draft, genius GM Chris Grier tells the whole world the Dolphins and Ramsey have mutually agreed to part ways. Why????? Plan much? What was your plan when you told the world that? Maybe shop him draft day and see what you get. Now you’re desperate and you may end up cutting him and getting zero compensation. This, among many other reasons already outlined is why Grier to be sent packing. We need to find someone better at this job than him, and I don’t think it will be as hard as people think.
So now we go into day 3 armed with 6 picks, one in RD 4 (#116), three in RD 5 (#143,#150,#155) and two in RD 7 (#224,#253). Can we find our starting CB in any of those picks? Who knows? Maybe, but the chances went down considerably just by trading up and trading away your 3rd and 4th RD picks to get there. I’ll remind you that Chris Grier also traded up for OL Liam Eichenberg in the 2021 NFL Draft to select him at #42 RD 2. Once again, no patience, no discipline, and no plan. Let the board come to you, and find good players, don’t be set at any position or player, be flexible, be smart. Grier hasn’t done those things. Even when he hit on a couple of picks like DT Christian Wilkins and OG Robert Hunt, he failed to keep them going into their second contracts. Bad management, simple as that. This should be his last year, but Stephen Ross for some reason loves him. Maybe Stephen Ross is a masochist and just loves losing too.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

look at you hard at work- Thanks Mike!
YW!
Grier’s explanation on trading picks to move up;
“It didn’t weigh it at all,” Grier said Friday night. “For us, just candid, this was a player that we had targeted. We spent a lot of time with. We had him on a 30 visit and spent a lot of time at all-star games. (Offensive line coach Butch Barry) went out and spent a day with him and had a private workout with him. So this is a player we’re very convicted on for what he can add with his size, his power.
That I fucked up by trading a third and a fourth round pick to move up and get one I could’ve been patient and taking him later
oh yeah, I got some text messages saying that the other teams were gonna take him.
he’s a good draft pick. Hard to believe he would not have been there for us without the trade up
perfectly stated MikeE
Thanks Rock
“It didn’t weigh it at all,” Grier said Friday night
Yeah fuckface, we can see that!
We’re gonna take CB Zah Frazier (Texas). Whether we trade up for him remains to be seen. lol
Thank you, Mike E.! Hopefully, we have 2 high quality starters in the trenches. If so, maybe he can get them through 2 contracts…lol. A do over..
Hopefully he’s not around to see if we get them on their 2nd contracts
TIFI!!! lol
lol..hopefully
YW!
Some like to dismiss the fact that we traded a pick to get what will probably (hopefully) be a very good player for us. But it’s these types of decisions by Grier that have this team in the position it is in right now. We probably could have gotten him @48, and if not someone else.
It’s been his MO all along, and it costs each and every time he does it.
Yeah, at least they have not used any future picks yet. We have 7 picks left so I don’t see that happening now anyway.
They obviously are not going BPA, but have targeted specific players they want. The potential was there for Jonah to go before #48. The Dolphins moving up for him probably changed a few draft boards. The 49er’s were high on Jonah also and have a huge hole on the OL after losing Aaron Banks.
That said, I didn’t expect or cared for the trade up with Ratledge and Milum still on the board also.
Jonah does bring more versatility than any of the others though as he has played both OT spots and can play either OG spots.
Again, Dolphins are targeting players they want and not necessarily going BPA. For this reason, do not be surprised if pick #116 is CB Korie Black.
Possibilities at 116: RB’s Cam Skattebo, Damien Martinez and DJ Giddens. WR Jaylin Lane. TE Gunnar Helm. OT Marcus Mbow. DT’s CJ West, Joshua Farmer. LB Chris Paul. CB’s Dorian Strong, Quincy Riley, Cobee Bryant and Korie Black. Safties Lathan Ransom, Billy Bowman, RJ Mickens and Jaylen Reed.
I just hope the pick isn’t Quinn Ewers. I will be pissed.
these are the names I’m looking at lot of the same names. I haven’t really looked at RB, LB or QB
Zy Alexander
Joshua Farmer
Ty Robinson
Marcus Mbow
Jalen Rivers
Cameron Williams
Luke Kandra
Logan Brown
Jackson Hawes
Dorian Strong
Jordan Phillips
Billy bowman
Malachi Moore
Dante Trader
JJ Pegues
CJ West
Areas Peebles
Howard Cross
You guys should be pissed at the simulators if anyone. It looks like every guy you “threw in” in the later rounds is already gone.
RJ Harvey goes at 60
Dillon Gabriel end of third round
and so on
They shouldn’t call them simulators, simulators reflect reality. These should be called draft exercises or games.
I nailed all mine….lol
Imagine Shilo goes before Shedeur, he’d be able to talk shit the rest of his life to his brother
I like our picks so far, getting what we need
Oink! Keep building the trenches
4 picks in the early part of day 3. We can spend the all on DT and OL if we really want to….
albeit maybe a TE and some DBs wouldn’t hurt

My son is now trying to bet me that Shaddeur Sanders will kill himself. Dark-yes, is he wrong?
I hope he’s wrong. Football ain’t worth it
let’s go Day 3
looks at all those solid OL and DL picks available
no reason to stop now
Shedeur is there at 116, do you take him?
I think I would. No pressure to play him, top athlete sit him and let him learn.
Not sure. He is talented but will he ever learn to get rid of the ball early. Seems to process slow. I may have to pass.
Man, I’m torn. I wanted OL, but I would not have drafted Jonah. I most definitely would not have given up picks for him. Those wasted picks will be missed. Stupid move, if you ask me….but who is? Lol
Piggy, yeah, those guys also but is was just posting ones ranked high for pick 116. It would be nice to nail a CB but I would also take Mbow or CJ West.
it wouldn’t upset me if the ignore DBs with this 4th and 5th round picks and just draft all OL and DL
Sonny – Is this code for we shouldn’t be angry with Grier for trading up again?
“The Baltimore Ravens selected nine players in the 2024 NFL draft, with only Nate Wiggins (Rd 1 pick 30) and Roger Rosengarten (Rd 2 pick 62) finishing the year as starters or key contributors.”
https://ravenswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/ravens/2025/01/29/baltimore-ravens-pff-grades-rookies-2024-nfl-draft-nate-wiggins-roger-rosengarten/78026890007/
I used the Ravens since they were pointed out in the article as ‘the standard’.
No team is going into a draft expecting to get 4 or 5 starters and 2 or 3 excellent backups, even the Ravens. It’s not realistic. If you can get two or three quality starting players out of a draft, you’ve done a good job. Add another backup or two and you’ve had an excellent draft.
No matter what Grier did, he was going to get killed by a majority of fans, because nearly all of us know he needs to go. But the truth is, if we picked up two quality starters on the lines, and we get another starter or back up or two on day 3, then it’s what you want out of a draft. Who cares how you get there?
On the other hand, Eich is a perfect example of Grier’s inability to use extra picks to target the right guy, so we’ll see, lol.
I should make it clear, I’m separating this draft from all of Grier’s other mistakes, and just saying right now this draft is unknown.
If we’d kept Wilkins and Hunt instead of wasting picks and money on high profile trades, the team would be in a much better position. And so far this draft is nothing but really just cleaning up the mistakes of getting rid of those two players.
Correction- not doing enough to keep those two players.
Sanders is and always was a mid to late round pick. He’s not falling. All the BS about him getting drafted high was just draft drama. He and his family tried to will something into reality, but the skill just isn’t there. He and his family took the risk, and it didn’t pay off. He’d be better off now going UDFA so he can go where he can fit.
^
y’all can feel how you want to feel, me I feel fine
We have 7 picks today. That might end up as 5 if we use some to move up for specific prospects.
I feel great! They took the DT I said I think has the most potential and a huge OL. I wouldn’t have made the Jonah move, but I’m hopeful he turns into a monster inside. He’s limited physically, but those Samoan guys seem to play hard all the time.
just watched Shedeur highlights again, I’d absolutely take him with our next pick
he’s got the relaxed Cam Ward pocket presence, without the too comfortableness Cam has, that drives me crazy
his vision and wiggle are special
not sure about all the sacks, but he does keep plays alive, something, someone else doesn’t
his ball placement looks Tuaesque
The entire draft has been about Shedeur. Every pick could this be where he goes.
Skateboo
He’s a good player and besides being a half back I could see him playing some fullback in the NFL
there he goes
We’re on the clock!
TRADED DOWN to the Texans
We traded out.
@DavidFurones_
Dolphins trade out with Texans. Give up 116, 224. Get 179 this year and 2026 third.
nice
what did we get?
we got our 3rd back, that we used last year to move up to get Wright😜
Nice! Give our new GM some extra ammo to work with next year, lol.
that’s what I said last week, trade all of our picks for 2026 picks, so someone else can select
We just have to keep our fingers crossed we actually move on from Grier and Co. next year, but frankly, I’m not convinced Ross will do that. That is scarier to me than anything that is happening in this draft, lol.
5th, 13th and 19th in rd 5 are our next picks
Grief, thats one way not to fuck up a selection, just keep trading out
Here’s what we have left…
Round5·(143)
Round5·(150)
Round5·(155)
Round6·(179)
Round7·(231)
Round7·(253)
you’d think after ot picking since early 2nd we’d actually like to make another pick
Grief thinks he’s the 225 avg lifetime hitter, that’s having a career year now batting 300, with 3 abs left in the season and doesn’t want to hit again
in other words he thinks he’s nailed the first 2 picks
Dawn Aponte making the announcement for the last pick
Greir is trading away picks this year like we have filled every hold and have a ton of depth
some one tell him what the roster looks like
those 3rd and 4th round picks have a shot to fill significant needs
I don’t understand trading those picks away
I think they are drafting who they want and not BPA.
I will be looking for some of those top 30 visit guys for the Dolphins to pick. Many they brought in were round 7 prospects. Even a couple listed as probable UDFA.
Shedeur to the Stealers*?
NOPE!
Chris Grier is the Wayne Fonts of GMs.
YUP! LOL
Comic Sans?
So the Steelers must already have a behind the scenes deal with Rodgers? or are they really going into the season with Mason Rudolph and Skyler Thompson at QB?
I think they draft Kyle McCord.
Chris tradie pants has 18 picks to go before he makes another trade
I just imagine Grier sitting in the Dolphins war room saying ‘I know what we’re doing next. This will really piss them off! Hehehe…’
I guess it’s a good thing Sanders didn’t go in person day 1 😂
‘And you thought Aaron Rodgers green room wait was uncomfortable…’
Hoping that Josh Farmer, Marcus Mbow, or JJ Pegues is there for us @ R5P143.
yep
Zy Alexander and Jordan Phillips too
Agreed.
SVUCKS! There goes Malachi Moore to the stej! 😡
Man… that REALLY pisses me off. 😡
Nothing like having one of your man-crushes going to the enemy. 😡
The way we’ve approached this draft, it actually confirms Grier and McDaniel aren’t going anywhere any time soon.
Probably not until thr end if the season. Then it will either be them or the fans
I feel the exact opposite, man.
Grier/McD need to WIN NOW or they are most likely gone. We’ve got 2 picks through 4 rounds and gave an additional 3rd rounder to next season.
I don’t know about that
If this turns south this year, I think Ross will pull the trigger
but it does seem like they are thinking about next year
Tim, more importantly though, this team isn’t going anywhere either
Shedeur is there at 116, do you take him?
I think I would. No pressure to play him, top athlete sit him and let him learn.
Learn from who?
I think it must be under consideration at the very least.
Did we trade Captain Hill or Ramsey yet?
This draft has played out sorta like I wanted it to. I wanted us to focus completely on the oline and dline, and to set ourselves up to draft a QB next year.
I expected we’d get more than two players out of the draft, but hey, all linemen and we added a pick next year. Woohoo!
I truly get the feeling that Grier/McD are under a mandate of sorts by Ross regarding this Draft.
There goes Farmer to the Patsies*. SVUCKS!
This whole thing with the Sanders kid actually makes me wish I’d watched him play some.
I can’t recall ever seeing such a high profile player that was projected by a lot of pundits to go somewhere between rounds 1-3 that may end up undrafted.
And the people who evaluate him that I see, even on this board, are all over the place on his actual talent.
Shedeur is VERY talented. He’s being kind of ‘black-balled’ by the NFL is my feeling. Why? Because of who his father is and that Deion is likely going to be an NFL HC soon.
The NFL doesn’t want the Sanders family dictating business in THEIR league.
I usually think along the lines of talent trumps distraction, meaning if he was that good, he’d be drafted regardless.
But you certainly know more about his ability than I do, so my opinion on this is about as relevant as ‘the eye test’, lol.
NE has been having a nice draft.
how can I stop jets, patriots or bills from taking players we like
You could propose trading GM Chris Grier to one of them. That’d do the trick.
Do a fly-by and poop all over their Draft HQs!
Keep in mind that IF we draft Shedeur and we end up firing Grier and McD if we miss the playoffs again, Deion will be knocking on Ross’ front door to become our next HC.
Really prefer that does not happen.
I think a LOT of people would prefer that does not happen. And it would be just like Ross to bring a new circus to town.
Oh geez, please no.
The come back from commercial. “We have QB news!”
And it’s Seattle trading Sam Howell to the vikings lol
it would appear that all 32 teams don’t seem to feel Mr. Sanders is all that talented. If he were, regardless of the daddy issues, he’d have been drafted by now. Teams don’t pass on talented QBs.
Frazier OG is still sitting there. When do we draft again?
One of either Marcus Mbow or JJ Pegues will be availed to us when we pick.
WE’RE ON THE CLOCK!!!
Now BOTH are still available!
Let’s Go Mbow!
Dorian Strong?
Take your emotions out of it and look at things pragmatically. You don’t trade out of the 4th for future picks with your job on the line.
I’m not as down on this team as some of you. I can see a path where we can have a good season.
Mills…next Sieler
Jordan Phillips!!! Good pick!!!
Randy, Phillips is a former wrestler, man!
Another DT called Jordan Phillips.
Hey, Grier got my memo. ALL dlinement and olinemen.
The last Jordan Phillips wasn’t a bad player, just lazy.
Jordan Phillips! Weeeeeeeeeeee
There’s your double down
Nice. Versatile dude.
DT, OL and DT. 🤔 🤪
That will work
We are really draft per pound this year. YAY!!
At this point I think Dallas is about the only team that would be okay with the sanders circus .. Jerry loves controversy
And Dion
*Deion
^
Jordan Phillips is kinda of raw but has big upside
very versatile
I love the pick
Let’s Go MBOW!!
At least Grier hasn’t made the pick that makes us say, who the heck is that. Yet. Lol
SHEDEUR TO THE BROWNIES!!!
So why did they draft my man-crush Dillon Gabriel in the 3rd, I ask? Foolishness on display by the Brownies.
5th Round. Now that makes sense. Good luck to the kid.
^ he will actually learn a lot from Flacco
and there you go
Better than happy ending
piggy,
I agree. Phillips is a nice pick at that spot. I think you can play him all along the LOS. Good versatility with some upside. Good mid round pick.
Already have an injured Watson, Flacco, and Pickens , and Gabriel who they drafted in rd 3 .. couple guys will be moving on later this year
BBM,
Kevin Stefanski is a VERY good coach. Sanders is lucky.
Seriously, Shedeur will EASILY beat out my man-crush Dillon Gabriel in Cleveland. They shat the bed and never should have taken Gabriel to begin with.
672 lbs of defensive tackles in the cart today. I hope the cart has stout wheels. LOL
Right? LOL
Phillips will compete for a rotational spot on the DL. We need bodies to round out the roster.
Randy, he is and good point
This pundit just talked about the Browns GM playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Dude gave Watson 250 mil fully guaranteed, he’s barely been playing ‘walk and chew gum at the same time’, not checkers or chess.
Thank you! I was going to post similar before I hit refresh!
lol, I had to look it up and make sure it was the same guy before I posted it. I was mildly surprised to see he is still the GM after that disaster. They are a stacked roster, but that one move ruined them for the last couple years.
996lbs of manflesh so far. A few big gulps shy of half a ton! With 5 picks left to go today. I hope they break a full ton of players today!
imagine the contract negotiation after you passed on a guy a half of dozen times, who thought he was a top 5 pick
WE’RE ON THE CLOCK!!!
ANOTHER great DT. We were too late to get Farmer, but this guy is a fist-fighting beast. An intimidator. A punisher. An enforcer. Just what we need. OL hates lining up against guys who bruise their body and arms every rep.
^
Did someone take Gunnar Helm
Dorian Strong or Marcus Mbow here?
yes please
I am running up the aisle to get Mbow
LET’S ADD ANOTHER 300+ lBS!!!
Jason Marshall, CB, Florida!!!
Underwhelming, IMO.
we are at 150. Not really much to get really excited about here on out
Drafting for need, but is Marshall any good?
no one really knows. People thought Cam Smith was good and he sucks.
