For you hardcore fans that watch, and have been watching this team for a long time, or even just for a short time, you want to go into the season feeling like this team is a contender, not only for the division crown, but for the AFC Championship as well. If you watched our team last season, you understand that a lot of things have to go well in order for that to happen. I’m going to outline those things, and give you something to look forward to for this upcoming 2025 season.
We’ve already added some talent in the 2025 NFL Draft, some that were drafted and some that were UDFA’s, Undrafted Free Agents. The Miami Dolphins drafted 8 players, and signed an additional 16 players that were not drafted. Let’s start with the ones we drafted.
Last season, the offensive line was a sore issue for this team. Despite the fact that LT Terron Armstead managed to play 15 games with a bad leg, there were injuries all along the line last season. The Dolphins had plans of starting OG Isaiah Wynn but he was unavailable due to injury. That forced the Dolphins to pivot to Liam Eichenberg to replace Wynn at RG and Robert Jones played LG. 2020 1st RD Pick Austin Jackson was set to play RT and he did, but injuries forced him to miss more than 1/2 the season. OG Isaiah Wynn only managed to play in 6 games, starting 3. Swing Tackle Kendall Lamm was pressed into action and played the remainder of the season at RT when Jackson went out. The Dolphins added big OG Jonah Savaiinaea from Arizona in RD 2, and earlier in Free Agency, the Dolphins picked up OG James Daniels from the Steelers.
The plan for the O-line is to have 2nd year OT Patrick Paul play LT, and next to him will be the veteran James Daniels. Aaron Brewer who played a full season last year will be back at OC, and then the rookie will play RG, Jonah Savaiinaea, with RT Austin Jackson next to him. Obviously, the Dolphins and fans alike hope that this group is ready and able to play a full, successful season. We need health to be on our side for a change, and if we could manage to have all 5 starters play the whole season, it could really make a difference in a positive way. We did add a few depth players, OT Larry Borom from Chicago, OG/OC Liam Eichenberg was re-signed for depth at OG and C, and then a player who was on the Practice Squad in 2024 like OT Jackson Carman, and 2024 7th RD pick OT Ryan Hayes. I feel the crux of this season resides with the success of this unit. QB Tua Tagovailoa has to stay healthy if this team is realistically going to compete for the division and beyond, so the Offensive line is crucial in not only protecting Tua, but the run game needs to make big strides compared to last year where we leaned on RB De’Von Achane too much, and were just awful in converting short yardage situations like 3rd and short and 4th and short. Just abysmal! The Dolphins were 24th in the league at converting 3rd Downs to First Downs at 36.32%. That’s ALL 3rd Down conversions. I don’t have the 3rd and short and 4th and short, but if you watched the games, we failed far too often.
Fortifying the interior of the offensive line could make a significant difference. The 2 OG’s that should start in ’25, LG James Daniels and rookie RG Jonah Savaiinaea should enable this offense to run inside the tackles as well as outside, where we spent too much time the last season. If you want to convert short yardage plays you must get push in the middle. You can’t expect your RB to have to go all the way to the outer perimeter of the O-line, it takes too long and gives the defense too much time. You need the shortest distance from point A to point B, which is pretty much straight ahead. The Dolphins also brought in a very physical blocking TE in Pharoah Brown, and we’ll likely be seeing a lot of 2 TE formations with Jonnu Smith and Pharoah Brown. Jonnu Smith was great last season as a receiving TE and will continue in that role, but Brown can mix it up in the trenches and will help in those short yardage situations.
The defense last season was somewhat of a pleasant surprise. Then, new Defensive Coordinator Anthony Weaver had the unit getting better and better as the season went on. RDE Zach Sieler had a great season finishing with 10 sacks for the 2nd year in a row. Having veteran Calais Campbell last year helped a lot, he played all 17 games and played well all season. Calais Campbell has moved on but the Dolphins added two players who should make an immediate impact. In the 1st RD, the Dolphins took Michigan DT Kenneth Grant. Grant has the ability to play multiple spots on the D-line, an odd front which be our base 3-4, or an even front in passing situations like the nickel or dime. He’ll probably be found somewhere in the interior but can and will play DT/DE like Calais Campbell did last season. We also drafted what could be a steal in the 5th RD DT Jordan Phillips. He can also play multiple spots and surely will be counted on to do so this season. Last year we got a nice rookie performance from 2024 1st RD pick OLB Chop Robinson. He just got better and better and I’m sure the Dolphins are counting on him to pick up where he left off. To add, we lost OLB Jaelan Phillips to a knee injury last season, the 2nd season in a row where Phillips missed significant time. He should be back healthy, no one rehabs better than Jaelan Phillips, he’s a monster! We will also see the return of OLB Bradley Chubb who missed the entire ’24 season. Anthony Weaver probably can’t wait to see this whole group together, it really could be fun!
One thing the Dolphins have to do is figure out the Jalen Ramsey situation one way or another. They can’t let this situation linger, either he’s here, or he’s gone. If we’re going to move on from Ramsey, hopefully it’s a trade. I’ve seen rumors of trades regarding other teams who have similar situations on their hands, so maybe a disgruntled player swap with Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander is possible. No Ramsey is older, and his salary is a little less than Alexander’s. Ramsey’s cap hit in ’25 is $16.6M while Alexander’s is $23.9M. This may not be feasible, or realistic but the Dolphins may need to find 2 starting CB’s if they can’t work things out with Ramsey and keep him, or trade him. They don’t really have a starting CB on the roster, but there are some available players who are Free Agents like Rasul Douglas and a younger player in Asante Samuel Jr. . Douglas is nearly 30 but we could a short contract. Samuel is only 25, but has a shoulder issue. If he can pass a medical, it would be nice to have some young talent but his contract will be steep. We have CB’s Storm Duck and Cam Smith who have started but were shaky. To add, we have two safeties that have started games during their careers, but between SS Ifeatu Melifonwu and FS Ashtyn Davis, they’ve only started 9 games total over the last 3 seasons. The secondary needs to be remedied if we’re truly going to be contenders.
Back to the offense for a moment. Last season, we inexplicably relied way too heavily on RB De’Von Achane. We drafted and traded up for RB Jaylen Wright in RD 4, using a 2025 3rd RD pick to do so. Wright should be seeing a lot more action, and in this 2025 Draft, we selected RB Ollie Gordon in RD 6. Gordon, 6’1 226 has a much more physical style and mentality rushing the football. He could help in the aforementioned short yardage struggles we’ve had. We also brought in WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine into our WR room and he should be a welcome addition. Much like Gordon, Ikhine-Westbrook brings some size to the room at 6’2 211, much larger and more physical than Hill and Waddle and should be a nice big target as well. Westbrook-Ikhine had 9 TD’s receptions last season, 1 more than Hill-Waddle combined. He’s a great red zone threat receiver, I look forward to watching him here in Miami. Of course, the heavy lifting belong to the O-line and our QB Tua Tagovailoa. Tua needs to stay healthy and play smart. Playing smart doesn’t mean playing in bubble wrap, but it means when you’re running outside the pocket, don’t engage a defender, slide. When a defender is making a b-line to you, throw the ball away and don’t hold it and get crushed. That doesn’t mean never take a few yards if the defense gives you running room and there’s no receiver open, it just means run out of bounds or slide to finish the run.
Yes, a lot of things have to break right for us to unseat the AFC EAST CHAMPION Buffalo Bills. We also have to contend with better New England Patriots and NY Jets teams. Fix the secondary and the Jalen Ramsey situation, and even more importantly, learn how to use your rookies and let them help you win. We know Kenny Grant and Jonah Savaiinaea will be used heavily, but use Jordan Phillips a lot, use Ollie Gordon, use Zeek Biggers,. Don’t avoid using rookies you drafted! It’s possible that this year’s defensive unit could be special if both Bradley Chubb and Jalean Phillips can stay healthy, along with 2nd year OLB Chop Robinson. If the big boys are good on the D-line, and the LB’s can get to the QB, the CB and Safety situation may not seem so dire. QB Tua Tagovailoa in addition to playing smart with his health needs to find another level of play. He has to be better against the good teams, teams as good or better than us. This is something he’s struggled with since he’s been here, but if he wants this team to succeed, he has to find another gear., and help this team beat hose teams and win those important showdowns. Do it during the regular season will make it easier to do in the playoffs too.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

there’s talk about Kohou starting outside, that would be Ok, but in nickel he needs to be the nickelback IMO
Jason Maitre looked good in the slot last TC.
Jason Marshall Jr, 6’1, 205
BJ Adams, 6’3, 190
Isaiah Johnson, 6’3, 205 (2024 UDFA)
Those are some big press corners. I wonder if Weaver is looking to change some things up in coverage. Though, it will depend on who makes the roster and who starts on the boundaries.
Justin Tucker “rubbed out”, “kicked to the curb”
With good health and the potential on the team we can be a very good team. Not sure why that’s viewed as being overly optimistic. The roster has potential. If we had no talent I’d say so.
locker room is my main concern right now, not sure we can overcome it
key will be to win early, if not MM doesn’t last the year Tyreek traded at the trade deadline
Yup! That’s what I’m sayin’…
If we don’t have a winning record at the trade deadline, there’s going to be a fire sale.
I think it’s more likely that things go wrong than they go right, because there’s just too many things that have to go right that usually don’t.
Injury issues to overcome, injury issues to avoid, lack of talent in the secondary, rookie OL has to play at a high level right now, other teams in the division got better than us. Might be too much to ask to overcome, but this is what Grier created, and if we suck, he deserves to be vanquished.
M13, you seem to want a fire sale? Why? Do you like the sport or the TMZ nonsense of owner, GM and head coach?
What are we following anymore?
We’ve made the playoffs 4 times since 2008. 16, 22 and 23. One off year and it’s off with your heads. Grier and McDaniel have never had a losing record together. Yet the mob is out to get them like they’re some kind of monster.
Tim, I certainly do not WANT a fire sale… like you, I want us to WIN!
I’m merely putting my finger to the wind, and I see Ross firing the FO if we can’t even make the playoffs this season… but maybe keeping Chris Grier.
Even you, man, would have to admit that it’s time for a fire sale if we have a losing record at the trade deadline, in order to entice a new GM and/or HC.
Rightfully or wrongfully, we both understand that the life of an NFL GM and HC don’t last very long if the current situation isn’t good. It’s more about “what have you done for me lately?” in this sick society we live in today.
I’m not anti-Grier (perhaps I should be) or anti-McDaniel. However, I AM anti-Ross.
I’ve got a LOT to say about this matter (non-Dolphins), and it makes me sick. It’s a biz, Bro. It’s abysmal.
I don’t expect a losing season. I think we’re better than that.
I give you ALL the respect in the world for your optimism! And to be honest… YES. I also see a winning season ahead of us… so long as we don’t incur too many injuries.
Sadly, YES… we’re probably going to incur many injuries.
There won’t really be a fire sale. Tyreek is gone next year regardless because of his contract. Very likely Chubb also for the same reason.
If we have a poor record by the trade deadline, I would not be surprised if we moved on from Hill. Hill would be cheap for a team trading for him for the rest of the season.
I do think MM should be on a very hot seat if he continues to not be able to adjust during games.
I don’t totally disagree with this. We have a lot of issues that have to be addressed.
I think we win 14-15 games
(piggy ducks) (🐷🦆)
Maybe if you are talking about playing Madden and Rock is on the controller. lol
IF our O-Line stays healthy and paves the way for 2K on the ground… and iF Tua stays healthy… I see no reason why we can’t win 10+ games in ’25.
Lol, Ace Per Head is calling Savaiinaea – 7A
for fuxsake 7A, 2A needs time to throw🤣
for the record Tim we were 8-9 last year
We’ve made the playoffs 4 times since 2008. 16, 22 and 23. One off year and it’s off with your heads. Grier and McDaniel have never had a losing record together. Yet the mob is out to get them like they’re some kind of monster.
Oops
I think the roster is good enough to make playoffs, but like Buffalo with Diggs, that cancer (Hill, Ramsey and apparently others) is too much to overcome
I guess we’ll see in preseason/camp how the locker room is
in 2023 we beat what 1 team with a winning record, Jeff Wilson brought home the bacon with his dawg running style against Dallas to seal the win
can Ollie be that new dawg in the backfield?
Sah-vuh-nigh-uh
Thank you!!! Lol
okay… forget what I said
16-1
Ooooooooh, we made the playoffs? Steve-Oh, please do tell us all what we did when we got into the playoffs? Did we appear in any, way, shape, form that we actually belonged there?
I was quoting Tim

Tyreek Hill Not Showing Familiar Support for Tua in Ranking Elite QBs
Hill has consistently placed Tua among the league’s best quarterbacks, but changed his tune during a Snapchat video Monday.
Dante Collinelli | 15 Hours Ago
Tyreek Hill is causing a stir on social media again.
The Miami Dolphins’ star receiver was asked to name his top five quarterbacks in the NFL during a Q&A session on Snapchat, and he left out Tua Tagovailoa. Instead, Hill cited Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield and Joe Burrow.
While this is not a big deal, it is an odd pivot from Hill, who has gone out of his way to include Tagovailoa in such discussions in the past. It also comes amid an offseason in which Hill has been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Hill’s Past Support of Tua
When the Dolphins traded for Hill, the star wide receiver was not shy about supporting Tagovailoa. In June of 2022, he famously claimed that Tagovailoa was the most accurate quarterback in the NFL on the podcast “It Needed to Be Said.”
“Obviously, like I’m gonna go with 15 [Patrick Mahomes] as the strongest arm, but as far as accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day,” Hill said.
Hill doubled down on this take throughout his time in Miami, consistently saying Tagovailoa was the NFL’s most accurate passer.
Even as recently as January, Hill was hyping up his starting quarterback. He was doing a “blind ranking” on Facebook, and he ranked Tua first. A blind ranking means Hill wasn’t ranking the quarterbacks solely based on his opinions, but he still defaulted to putting Tua first.
Regardless of the semantics surrounding Hill’s ranking method, his omission of Tua from his list is a significant change.
____________
….I really don’t believe having TH on the team is in the best interest of the Dolphins, CG, or MM.
Damn Maple leafs got up on the Panthers last night 5-4. Bad start for round two.
BBM, we have not hope. I win in Madden with play calling. Pound the rock until I get single high and then go over the top.
MM won’t do it.
Yeah, he tries to do it with screen passes.
I never put too much weight on game 1 of a series.. and the Panthers came on toward the end .. they will prevail 👍👍
Krishna – Tyreek isn’t the best team player, but he’s absolutely fucking right about the top 5 QB’s. Tua has no place among those guys, he knows it, Tua knows it, we know it!
Agree, mostly, but TH doesn’t help the team, is a quitter, and to me, he’s a cancer. Get the fuck rid of him! Lol!
On that I don’t disagree, I was just commenting on his answer, which is more right than wrong. I’d get rid of Hill and Ramsey, both don’t seem to really want to be here.
nor has Tua ever been top 5, but that wasn’t why it was brought up
Tyreek has previously had Tua in his top 5, taking him out this time, because of the rift between them
Tim – Saw your response about Soto. Productive? The guy behind him (Alonso) has just 1 less run scored than Soto. Starling Marte who has played in 12 less games and has less than half the AB’s Soto has has only 2 less RBI’s. You might be the most “accepting”, look at the bright side guy I have ever seen. We’re not paying Soto $765M to hit .258 with 5 HR’s and 14 RBI’s in 36 games. I fully understand that his presence alone makes the lineup better, Alonso will be happy to testify to that, but he needs to start hitting.
Are teams pitching around him? It happens, and Soto may not be seeing what he likes causing him to struggle at the plate a little. Next thing you know they snap out of if and start seeing everything better then go off. Wait until by the end of May.
Pitchers are being careful, but he gets pitches to hit. I think he’s just being too patient, willing to give Alonso the opportunity. Right now Pete is killing it, but if he starts to struggle, Soto will have to start hitting or the Mets will fade fast
I said he’s not hitting up to his standards but he’s always on base and scores runs. What am I supposed to do about it? 😂
Hill puts Mayfield in his top 5? Looking to go to Tampa Bay, is he?
He HAD dropped some hints about the short drive over to Tampa…
He’ll probably get pulled over on the way though . . . lol
Tim – Throw some rocks bro! lol
I wasn’t asking you to do anything, just stating how tolerant you are. You’re great like that.
We’re winning and Pete is having an MVP season. Soto will get hot. He’s driving the ball to left and center which is a good sign.
Who TF is Amanda Holiday? And how can one person be so far off with an article, unless of course she is Quinn Ewers’ fiance.
https://dolphinstalk.com/2025/05/is-quinn-ewers-the-dolphins-next-superstar/
It was odd reading this Bizzaro world article. She at least THREE times refers to Ewer’s Deep ball accuracy and his powerful arm….
Every other evaluation I read on the kid said the exact opposite. He has good short and mid range accuracy but is BAD at the deep ball. (other evaluators comments not mine)
Anyway Miss Holiday must be Quinns fiance because she believes he is the savior of our offense….
powerful arm is true, has nothing to do with deep ball accuracy, as we know, because of Tua
I had no idea UDFA WR Monaray Baldwin has 4.32 speed. Imagine ‘Reek, Da’ Penguin, Achane, and Baldwin all lined up wide… and Da’ Penguin is the slow poke of the group. That’s insane speed.
Al Davis would have been proud.
Yeah, Henning also has good speed running a 4.4 flat officially and was said to have run faster.
his vertical of 34″ for a 5’9 guy, hand size middle of class and his hands rated 65 out of 72 are concerning
not saying he can’t make it, but he has limitations
I’m with ya on that, Steve. Just commenting on the INSANE amount of speed Coach McD is infatuated with.
it’s all Tua’s fault
Crabbs gathered all the stats, but i mentioned this after 2023 season it wasn’t just Tua
No way it’s a team game? 🤪
Somebody needs to tell the Crabb Man to change the microphone frequency on his “s”s. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s very annoying.
I can see why they got Henning. He’s good in the screen game and end arounds. lol
That’s Coach McD!!! LOL
Emperor Palpatine (aka: Darth Sidious): UNLIMITED POWER!!!
Coach McD: UNLIMITED SPEED!!!

So as of today, we have roughly $17.3M of cap space spending $$$ (per Spotrac). Unless the rules have changed yet again (I can’t keep up with it, FFS), each team is able to rollover $10M in unspent cap savings.
Going along with my “MANDATE” theory (to make it more enticing for the next potential GM and/or HC), that could translate to only $7.3M in cap space spending… until June 2nd.
Mind you, it’s only a theory… not a hypothesis. I’m VERY interested to see what happens next!
I’m of the opinion that we still need starting CB help, starting S help, and G help.
14 fastest players on the Dolphins squad:
WR Tyreek Hill 4.29 (Pro Day)
RB De’Von Achane 4.32 (Combine)
WR 4.32 Monaray Baldwin (Pro Day)
WR Jaylen Waddle 4.37 (School)
RB Jaylen Wright 4.38 (Combine)
WR Dee Eskridge 4.39 (Pro Day)
CB Ethan Bonner 4.39 (Pro Day)
WR A.J. Henning 4.40 (Pro Day)
CB Jalen Ramsey 4.41 (Combine)
S Ashtyn Davis 4.41 (Pro Day)
CB Cam Smith 4.43 (Combine)
CB Storm Duck 4.43 (Combine)
LB Willie Gay Jr. 4.46 (Combine)
WR Malik Washington 4.47 (Combine)
Those are some pretty fast guys!
UNBELIEVABLY FAST!!!
I see Jack Jones is still available as a FA. He only made $1.1M last season with the Raiders. He’s a BALL HAWK!
He came into this league as a Safety, transitioned to boundary CB last year with the Raiders with decent success.
Sign him and move him back to Safety!
Let’s sign him for, let’s say… $2M.
Brandon Scherff is still out there. Per Spotrac, he’ll cost $6.7M.
So is Risner.
M13, one thing to keep in mind when looking at carry over money is incentives. Incentives are paid out after the season and will be deducted from any leftover cap.
That’s why we didn’t carry over as much from what cap we had leftover from last year.
Got ya, man. Thank you!
And Asante Samuel Jr is still out there as a CB. Per Spotrac, he’ll cost $11.5M.
So we could have all of Sherff, Jack Jones, and ASJ for $20M.
And we currently have $17.3M to spend.
Let’s see what happens post June 1st…
Per Spotrac, Risner would cost $3.4M. I could go for that.
That puts us in targeting range to acquire all 3 players.
Some Dolphins incentives:
Tua – 50% regular season + Wild Card Win: $250,000
50% regular season + Divisional Round Win: $500,000
50% regular season + Conf. Championship Win: $500,000
50% regular season + Super Bowl Win Win: $1M
Hill only needs to play 50% of snaps and we win a playoff game to get 500k.
Ramsey -5 INTs: $300,000
5 INTs + Playoff Berth: $600,000
Pro Bowl: $300,000
Pro Bowl + Playoff Berth: $600,000
1st Team All-Pro: $400,000
1st Team All-Pro + Playoff Berth: $800,000
1st Team All-Pro + Super Bowl Win: $1.3M
Sieler – If team is Top 20 in Points Allowed OR Top 17 in Net Yards Against
55% Snaps: $250,000
65% Snaps: $250,000
5 Sacks: $375,000
7 Sacks: $375,000
Brooks – if team is Top 20 in Points Allowed
75% Snaps: $500,000
85%: $500,000
Pro Bowl: $250,000
Austin Jackson – If team is Top 25 in Points Scored
80% Snaps: $166,667
85% Snaps: $166,667
90% Snaps: $166,666
Jannu Smith – If team is Top 20 in Points Scored OR Net Yards
59% Snaps: $400,000
65% Snaps: $400,000
Others with incentives: Melifonwu, Dodson, Jason Sanders, Ashtyn Davis, Borom, Zack Wilson, Stonehouse, Westbrook, Bell,
Defense was top 10 in points allowed so at least Seiler and Brooks met their incentives last year. Not sure who else.
Willie Gay runs a 4.46?
YUP! That’s CRAZY fast for a LB!
Yet it hasn’t translated to success for him in the NFL.
Stats from the past mean nothing because the personnel is not the same. We have never seen the 2025 team play constructed as it is now.
What do you mean?!! 😉
it means Tua could play like Allen and Allen like Tua
Every season and play is new. We don’t know yet.

at this point, it might pay to wait until at least after 6/1 cuts or even training camp cuts
why wait?
we could have those 3 for 20m, but that’s not what they’d count against cap

Tua can play like Allen, for 1 play, and then he’s out for the season. lol
So Omar Kelly comes on the Joe Rose Show this morning as he often does and tells Joe the Dolphins are in a soft rebuild. He goes on to explain that they’ve been doing things one way for 3 years, like spending crazy money on players, giving out extensions, trading away draft capital etc, but now they’ve clearly made a change. I know some of you here think this behavior means they’re safe and will be here next season.
I have used this term here for a while now, Grier and MM need to be Responsible Stewards of the Franchise. I think someone in this organization put their foot down and told them Enough! Omar calls it a soft rebuild, the term itself doesn’t matter as much as the actions do. Trading a draft pick in this draft for a future pick. That’s the opposite of what they do here, or have been doing here. I don’t think Grier and MM are safe, and either does Omar.
Now this doesn’t mean we’re done this season, but as I’ve been saying, it’s gonna take an awful lot of things to right to give us a chance. If things go south here, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that Grier and MM are both gone.
50% is half mental
We can forget about the Tyreek to Cowboys talk from a couple weeks ago.
“The Dallas Cowboys are finalizing a trade to acquire wide receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for draft pick compensation, ESPN reported on Wednesday.
Per the report, the trade is expected to include a third-round draft pick and likely will be completed later on Wednesday.”
The Cowboys are the NFC version of the Miami Dolphins
Home games are typically easier games in the season, but this season our home schedule looks much tougher than our away schedule. Dolphins’ home opponents are much harder than their road rivals. The Dolphins play five teams at home that won double-digit games but only two road opponents (Buffalo and Pittsburgh) that won 10 or more games in 2024.
Hopefully, our home field advantage off-sets the better quality of our home opponents and leads to a better overall record this season. (Yes, as much as I want Grier gone, I am still rooting for as many wins as they can get this season!)
Travis Wingfield had a “hot take” on his pod cast today (yesterday) that our top three draft picks will all have more than 500 snaps this season (including Phillips, who he predicts will carve out a larger role for himself that you would expect for a 5th round guy.
I think Phillips is a starter too
I’d say Phillips gets that amount of PT by default and was such a great pick in an area of need
to say larger role than you’d expect is kind of retarded, for reason of see paragraph 1
look at PP last year, 2nd rounder didn’t play much, he was drafted to replace Armstead in 2025
in other words he’s not comparing apples to apples
talk about OL better than last year always seems to come down to Armstead for some reason, maybe Randy can weigh in
my theory is your OL is only as good as your worst player
you can look at it 2 ways for a running play Armstead makes a great block to jettison Achane or Eichenberg misses a block and Tua is sacked
on the running play what Eichenberg does may be irrelevant and on the passing play what Armstead does is irrelevant, sure there’s some things that can be done by Armstead to pick up a free rusher, but it could also be mostly irrelevant in this instance
bottom line was Armstead better than Jones and Eichenberg were bad, i don’t think so
Steve – I think it’s “80% of the game is half mental”
Lol
for this team, this year, it will be 99%
helps we’re a young team, only about 4 guys 30+ and 2 of them are assholes anyways, the rest of the team shouldn’t be in position to ruin team culture, never know though
it could get ugly, if we start slow

Tyreek Hill undergoes second wrist surgery this offseason
From thephinsider.com
WTF, people are so stupid.
A Sheduer Sanders fan is suing the NFL for $100 million for “emotional damage and trauma” over Sanders’ slide down in the draft.
“The Plaintiff claims that the reports and “leaked statements” suggesting that Sanders “tanked interviews,” “wasn’t prepared” and “was too cocky” in the pre-draft process helped create a narrative that “unjustly harmed” his reputation. These “slanderous statements” caused “emotional distress and trauma to the Plaintiff as a fan and consumer.”
Tim – “Punitive damages?”
that’s the world we live in the MSMs snowflake victims, always looking for something for nothing
Cowboys should have waited on the Pickens trade. I wonder if he ends up back in Buffalo.
WR Gabe Davis has been released by the Jaguars after one season, the team announced. Davis, who inked a three-year, $39 million dollar contract in 2024, produced 20 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games played, career-low numbers for the 26-year-old veteran following four seasons in Buffalo.
https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/tyreek_hill_posts_about_second_wrist_surgery/s1_16637_42163027
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill underwent an operation on his wrist, according to a post to his Snapchat account, marking his second procedure this offseason.
Hill had his wrist surgically repaired earlier this offseason after playing through what Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel described as a ligament issue. Hill’s most recent surgery involved the removal of previously placed screws, a source told ESPN, and has been “the plan all along.”
In their continued search for bulky run-stuffers on their defensive front, the Dolphins have added a fifth 300-plus pound rookie defensive lineman.
Tre’vonn Rybka, a productive defensive lineman at Kentucky, agreed to a deal as an undrafted rookie that included $10,000 guaranteed, according to a source. He becomes the 16th undrafted rookie to sign with the Dolphins; none had been announced as of midday Wednesday.
Rybka, who is listed at 6-4 and 310 pounds, played in 48 games and started 25 times in four seasons with the Wildcats. He had 95 tackles (including 11.5 for loss), five sacks and a forced fumble.
He started all 12 games last season and finished with 34 tackles (including five for loss), three sacks and a forced fumble.
The Dolphins have added five defensive linemen through the draft process — first-round pick Kenneth Grant (the 6-4, 331-pound Michigan product is a likely rookie starter), fifth-round pick Jordan Phillips (the former Maryland player is 6-2, 312 pounds), seventh-round pick Zeek Biggers (the 321-pound tackle from Georgia Tech), Rybka and undrafted South Carolina rookie Alex Huntley.
Last year we signed a bunch of vet nobodies, this year we’re signing a bunch of UDFA’s
on Zeek Biggers;
With an 85.5-inch wingspan, Biggers topped the charts at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. Only one other player (Texas defensive tackle Alfred Collins) measured within an inch (85 inches) of Biggers’ pterodactyl length.
Field goal block specialist
Clogging double teams, making tackles behind the line of scrimmage and batting down passes are all essential skills of a massive defensive tackle. For Biggers, his length helps in the kicking game as well.
Nobody blocked more field goals across college football the last four seasons than Biggers, who averaged one per season.
at 6’6 that puts his reach at 7.5″ over an avg person his height, but it doesn’t mean he has gorilla arms, if you look at his shoulders they are BROAD and where he gets most of his reach as his arms are 34 7/8
Grants are 33.5, Sieler 34 5/8
I mentioned this on draft day when we drafted him – he had like 5 or 6 blocked fgs in his college career
Maybe Tyreek will be out for the season with his wrist
Tim- I think Soto heard me
He passed it on to Alonso (0-5). lol
They got the Cubbies this weekend.
Let’s go Knicks!!!!!!!!!
Just crazy! I think the Celtics underestimated the Knicks resolve, thought they would just roll over and die if they got up on them by double digits. Instead, the Knicks came back both times, and it was the Celtics that rolled over during crunch time. Celtics couldn’t buy a bucket until Jason Tatum drove the whole floor for that dunk. Just unbelievable that we’re up 2-0!
UK,
If you’re reading this, man… WOW on the “Andor” series!!! I caught up on all 3 episodes that dropped yesterday… just WOW!
3 more episodes to be dropped next Tuesday, and it will lead into “Rogue 1”. CAN’T WAIT!!!
So who is going to become the Brownies’ starting QB? How many QBs will they retain? Logic says they will cut at least two, keeping three.
Let’s be very honest: Shedeur is going to beat out Dillon Gabriel. So if they try to stash Gabriel on their PS, he’s going to get poached.
These are the same Brownies doing the same Brownie things.
One of my very favorite things to do at this time of year is to look at over-abundance at any position for all 31 other teams.
And here’s a question for y’all: do ya think the Stealers* trading away George Pickens further entices Aaron Rodgers to sign with them? I’d say NO.
Don’t know what the Stealers* are thinking there, and they sure as hell want to keep Coach Tomlin’s winning record alive.
Or maybe their FO doesn’t want to keep Tomlin’s winning record alive? It’s all political.
Good luck to the Cowboys, dealing with not one, but now TWO diva WRs! LOL
M – I’m not really sure what the Steelers are doing. Business as usual would be trading away one of their talented WR’s, but why trade for Metcalf? Steelers always draft well, develop their WR’s and then let them go, it’s almost an annual ritual. I don’t think one losing season for Tomlin really means that much, do you?
Rodgers is a lock to Steelers, he’s pulling those strings before he signs
next move as has been rumored is signing Lazard
The Steelers don’t usually acquiesce to players wants, that would be surprising to me Steve
I could see them going after Gabe Davis who the Jags just released. Lazard has been reduced to a possession WR at best.
Lazard is Rodgers buddy, so package deal
Quinn in 2025!
“Come all without, come all within
You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn”
Just Stop! SMH
Tua is light years ahead
He’s not it though, maybe Ewers is. Keep trying until you find the one. Aim higher!!
Don’t shake your head so much, you know the rocks just rattle around and get noisy
The silly shit you say makes it sound like a maraca
Miami Dolphins
Roster Moves | We have waived CB Ryan Cooper Jr., DT Neil Farrell and OL Chasen Hines. We have also released LS Blake Ferguson.
They had to make room for all those UDFA’s.
Got rid of our LS, eh? Must mean MM is planning never have to punt. I like it! 🙂
Another Grier draft pick gone!
I’ve got a feeling we’ll see a coaching change mid season to Weaver if we falter in the first half.
MikeE,
You’re such a negative jerk! Stop harshing my mellow!
Yes, yes I am! lol
I am curious what ever happened to Black Ferguson. Last year he was healthy and then mysteriously placed on the Non-football injury list never to be heard from again.
I think he was having issues with his diabetes.
We signed a UDFA long snapper from Alabama, Kneeland Hibbett.
under the radar change;
what do any of you know about our new special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman?
Thank goodness Crossman is out!
Only thing I know is he can’t be any worse than Crossman.
I am higher on Zack Wilson than Quinn Ewers.
I am too for this year, next year is the question, which one steps up
Rock – anything I write about this team is silly, because they do silly shit over and over and over over and over and over
MARACA
His first job as the head of the unit was in 2016 with the Los Angeles Chargers. That lasted one year. Aukerman then joined the Titans, who, in his second year, promoted him to special teams coordinator. He held that position from 2018 to 2023 but was fired midway through the season and sat out 2024.
Tennessee’s special teams struggled before his departure. In Week 13 of the 2023 season, his unit gave up two blocked punts to the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans fired him the next day.
Unfortunately, his overall results in Tennessee were underwhelming.
The Titans under his watch landed on Rick Gosselin’s annual special teams rankings at;
16th – 2018, 18th – 2019, 24th- 2020, 19th- 2021, 14th 2022, 21st – 2023 until he was fired week 13 after his unit gave up two blocked punts in one game.
Looks like a failure to me. Is McDaniel having issues finding good coaches?
McDaniel is having lots of issues
I said he can’t be any worse than Crossman. I guess we got just as bad as Crossman.
what were Crossman’s rankings for the years he was here
MM is an issue, if not THE issue
ESPN NFL writer Aaron Schatz says the Dolphins biggest need right now is Slot WR.
WTF? Further proof that media no longer has to research anything before putting shit out. Doesn’t matter if you do any homework as long as it gets clicks.
they barely watch the games
they read what others people say
I think Malik could be a real good slot receiver
and Ikhine
3 of the 4 players we just cut were on the 2019 LSU national championship team.
hmmm
Need to draft more Clemson players. 😉 lol
Carolina Panthers release pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney
They tried to trade him during the draft.
QB Quinn Ewers (Round 7, No. 231 overall) has agreed to terms on a four-year rookie contract, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported.
Ryder McConville says Omar is full of shit, Chop can set the edge
he watched all 130 run downs and Chop was good and only run on 3 times at most by any team, contradicting something else the braided coconut said
The NFL will be offering a sneak peek at a few games on the schedule starting May 12. From Monday through Wednesday, the league will be unveiling a total of 13 games. Here’s a look at when those announcements will be coming:
May 12: NBC, Fox, Amazon will each announce one game
May 13: ESPN will reveal one game on its schedule
May 13: All seven international games will be unveiled on “Good Morning Football”
May 14: CBS will unveil one game on “CBS Mornings” while Netflix will also be announcing one game
Although we won’t have the full 272-game schedule in our hands until May 14, there are a few things we already know about this year’s slate of game and we’re going to cover those below.
Week 1: Thursday night opener in Philadelphia.
Week 1: Chargers hosting game in Brazil.
Browns hosting a game in London.
Jets hosting a game in London.
Jaguars hosting a game in London.
Colts hosting a game in Berlin.
Steelers hosting a game in Dublin.
Dolphins hosting a game in Madrid.
Week 13: Lions host on Thanksgiving.
Week 13: Cowboys host on Thanksgiving.
Week 17: Christmas tripleheader that will make history.
Bleacher Report ranked the top 12 QB’s in the NFL. Tua was #12. I think that is fair.
I alluded to the “eyeball” test, which is that “it” factor we can’t really quantify. Tua Tagovailoa is lucky that’s not all I relied on here, because he wouldn’t make the cut under those circumstances.
The 27-year-old continues to face major questions about his ability to stay healthy as well as his lack of clutch performances.
The Dolphins were only 1-5 against playoff teams in 2023, and the offense was significantly less productive than usual in those games.
Tagovailoa was also startlingly ineffective in a first-round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. And in 2024, he again missed more than a handful of games and struggled in key spots against the Bills in September (three interceptions) and the Texans in December (four turnovers).
That said, we’re still talking about the reigning NFL leader in qualified completion percentage with the second-best on-target rate in the league. He is a 2020 top-five pick who has also led the league in passing yards, yards per attempt and passer rating at earlier points in his career.
When on, he can be one of the most efficient and productive passers in the NFL, so we’re giving him one more year on the fringe of this list.
I would probably take Matthew Stafford over him right now, and Bo Nix and others over him if I were starting a franchise and had a choice, but the former is too far past his prime and other recent high picks aren’t accomplished enough yet.
Tagovailoa is in a sweet spot, but he’s on thin ice entering what is likely the most critical season of his NFL career.
Are Rocks rattling louder than maracas?
Steve – I like Ikhine-Westbrook on the outside
MikeE, I agree. We have both Washington’s and Eskridge. We added 2 promising UDFA slot WR’s in Theo Wease and AJ Henning. Both of who many thought would get drafted late. I think Armstrong and Baldwin are boundary guys.
On top of that, our TE’s line up in slot quite often, mainly Jannu with 232 snaps in the slot last year. Before Jannu got here though, in 2023 Smythe lined up in the slot even more at 260 snaps.
I am not worried about our slot WR position.
I am worried at who is going to step up to replace Tyreek next year.
well then you both answered the question of who is going to take over for Tyreek
we really don’t need 2 tiny fast guys, we need a big and a fast, but if we did – Achane
if Ikhine plays outside Tyreek moves to the slot in 3 WR sets, a lot probably, which will open up the deep ball again for Waddle
I need to watch Ikhine highlights again, it’s been a while
didn’t Omar used to say Cam Wake could not set the edge too?
and hundreds of other idiotic things
We need big, physical players up front on the DL because we have athletes in the backend of the defense. Tackling overall is what needs to get better to get to the next level.
Yes… I agree, ESPECIALLY in the here and now, being we have green athletes in our secondary.
Ya always want great tackling, period (of course!)… but we’re going to need it more so this season than usual. Good point.
Weaver wants a physical front 5 and tackle in shell coverage most of the time. Win the LOS and clean up. For me the key is the Edge guys. If Chubb, Phillips and Chop aren’t available it’s not going to happen. We have some depth on the edge but it’s not the level of talent of those three.
Mike, the balance of the Mets lineup is key. Not all 9 are going to rake every game. We need 3-4 every game to produce with a pitching staff that gives you the opportunity most of the time. Jeremy Hefner is a magician. Ride the magic!
I really and truly do want to get back into baseball, but it’s like the girlfriend/wife that cheated on ya: I’ve tried again as of late, but I’m no longer feeling it. It’s not you, Major League Baseball, it’s me… I’ve moved on. LOL
That’s not a shot taken at y’all who love baseball… I think I miss playing it more than I do watching it.

Again, I agree. For me? The key is the entire front-7. If they can’t do their jobs, our green-ass secondary won’t have a chance and we’ll bleed yardage.
IMO, we need to sign a vet CB and S on the Defensive side of the ball.
I don’t think we need to, but it sure would be nice
It sure would be nice!
Our DF7 will not (nor will anyone’s) be 100% effective all of the time. That’s why I’d like to see a vet CB and S signed before the season kicks off.
And mind you… I’m NOT talking about blockbuster deals.
watching Ikhine I see a tougher Brian Hartline, toe tapper on sidelines, a little Devonte Parker with the contested catches
highlights show everything from the outside, i was mistaken, makes him more valuable, than I thought
I believe Waddle played some slot his rookie season too, seems he had a miscommunication with Tua at the Fest and it was picked off around midfield against Atlanta
I’m really liking the signing of Ikhine.
Steve,
Just for you: Ed Martin has been following me on Twitter for many years, my Brother!
Who?
Politics, man… politics.
BIG news today!
that Ed Martin
have you talked to him?
Not recently.
I wish him the best of success at his new job.
I still can’t believe we got 9 td Ikhine for 2 yrs 6m
Same! Outstanding size on the boundary and great production on a ‘meh’ team with poor QB play.
Ikhine 98 yrd TD vs Vikings
32 for 497 and 9tds in 2024
would like to see more receptions, but he really just needs to make the important plays, 3rd downs and endzone
to now have 2 large receivers for 3rd down and goal to go is huge
Precisely!
his issue is 32 catches on 60 targets, he is a good blocker
IF we can run the ball this season (see ’23), we’re going to win on the Offensive side of the ball.
Now sign either of Brandon Scherff or Dalton Risner to secure our O-Line.
We all know that 12 of our 5 starters are going to go down with injury. #SecureTheOLine!!!
Then sign a vet CB and S. Again, nothing blockbuster: Jack Jones @ Safety and ASJ @ CB.

———–
The value of a good blocking WR is severely underrated, especially now that River Cracraft is no longer with us. I really like the signing of Ikhine on a myriad of levels.
Ikhine could be our Hines (Ward), minus the catching %.
I DO see hope for us this season, though we’re going to HAVE to avoid the injury bug… especially at QB.
Ikhine is the big receiver we have needed. Not exactly the same but our current Oronde Gadsden. Hill, Waddle, Malik Washington and him along with Jonnu and our RBs could be lethal. Not every defense is constructed to defend that kind of skill.
This was from a hearld article a few years back.
In 2021 with the Kansas City Chiefs, 49 percent of Hill’s snaps came from a slot or tight alignment and 50 percent of his snaps came from a wide alignment, according to ESPN’s Next Gen Stats. Hill remained productive wherever he lined up, though. He averaged 11.57 yards per catch from a wide alignment and 11.65 yards from the slot. Hill’s average separation per reception was 4.18 yards from both a wide and slot alignment, given credence to Hill’s statement after Saturday’s practice that he’s an “outside receiver.”
For Waddle, 52 percent of his 2021 snaps came from the slot or a tight alignment and 52 percent of his targets were from the slot, as opposed to 41 percent from a wide alignment.
Hill had the second most snaps out of the slot last year behind Jannu Smith. A total of 4 players had 120 or more snaps out of the slot last year.
I can remember a few times where Achane lined up out wide with Hill in the slot.
I believe it was Hill with the second most.
According to the website Player Profile he took 176 snaps or 22% from the slot last season. 118 in 2023, and 122 in 2022 and a whopping 379 snaps from the slot as a rookie!
Last season Jonnu had 227 snaps from the slot.
Last season Nick Westbrook-Ikhine ran 20% of his routes from the slot (158) in 2023 he ran 46.1% of his snaps from the slot (280)
I think that dude who wrote the article is clearly just writing SHIT to have SOMETHING to post.
