I know there are those of you that will do just about anything to find the positives about this front office and team, and organization, but for crying out loud, WHY?????? There was one player other than the electric De’Von Achane who made this offense that was stuck in the mud the entire 2024 season go, that was TE Jonnu Smith. Jonnu caught 88 passes last season. If you watched the games like I did, you know many of those passes were screens and short dump offs, he averaged 10.0 YPR, but also achieved a 5.8 YAC average, a little more than half his YPR, which tells you how much work he had to do to get that 10.0 yards per reception. Naturally, like most athletes in the NFL, Jonnu wants to be rewarded for his great play last season and his efforts. Why then, do we need to hear that we’re looking to trade him to the Pittsburgh Steelers? Supposedly we could get up to a 3rd RD pick for Jonnu? Splendid! We could potentially then draft yet another OL in RD 2 and we can use that 3rd RD pick to trade up to get him! Oh the excitement in Dolphins Land!
I don’t know what it’s take for those of you who continue to bushy tailed and bright eyes at what we’re doing here. I think it’s a damn disgrace what we’re doing. I’m not going to rehash everything as I’ve done countless times, but you have to get tired of the negativity, that THEY provide. Sure, I’m writing about it, but it’s not me supplying the negativity, THEY do! Does anyone here remember exactly how many TD’s we had from our TE room in 2023? If you forgot, we had Z-E-R-O!! Yes, we had the most explosive offense in the NFL, but what happened when we played tough teams? We fell apart. Having that big bodied receiver that fights for yards after the catch is a wonderful thing to have when your receivers are all smaller, faster guys and don’t provide that type of physicality, RB De’Von Achane included. Jonnu gave us 8 TD’s receiving last season, and a few of them were ridiculous rugby scrum TD’s where he fought his way into the end zone We have no idea what type of impact Jonnu could have made in 2023 because he wasn’t here.
It’s just so difficult to feel like this front office has a plan. They just react (poorly) to everything that comes their way. They extend Jalen Ramsey, he has issues with the HC just a few months later and we air our dirty laundry for the entire NFL to see. Gee, that oughta help us get more in return if we trade our disgruntled player whom this front office just keeps throwing $$$ at. Now we have a good soldier who just wants more than the meager 2YR/$4.8M contract that his play easily exceeded. I don’t love when players sign contracts and then ask for more money but if anyone has a legit case, Jonnu does. So even in a best case scenario, we get a 3rd RD pick for next season, do you really want Chris Grier at GM to use that extra pick?
So, now we sit and wait and watch another good player leave the roster. There’s absolutely nothing positive about trading Jonnu Smith for draft picks if Chris Grier is still going to be here, nothing! We just lose another player and give a guy who can’t play a draft board another pick to to use frivolously. It’s a damn shame if that’s how this goes. We have no one in this TE room that could do what Jonnu does. Yes, WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine had a bunch of TD receptions, but why not have both of these guys and see what they can do together? Who knows, maybe we’re able to come to an agreement on a responsible and fair contract extension for Jonnu, that would be ideal. He is going to be 30 when the season begins (we share the same birthday, August 22nd). Travis Kelce has played very well and only recently seems to be really falling off, but he’s 35, so giving Jonnu another year or 2 and more money would be far from irresponsible. I’d love to see that happen, let’s hope for the best, but expect the worst! That’s how we roll here in Miami!
GO DOLPHINS!!!
FIRE GRIER!!!

First!
Congratulations Wyo!
Did I win the Boobie prize? 😉
Take a deep breath and read this
The Fins have had trade conversations with Pit about J. Smith
(New Sentence)
J. Smith has asked about a contract extension.
(New Sentence)
J. Smith would like to stay in Miami with an extension.
If you don’t read that as a run on sentence, it’s just normal contract negotiations / offseason stuff.
All 3 can be true and completely separate!
they’ve been in talks for a while, Grier is snake bitten over what happen last year with Ramsey and Tyreek getting new money
no telling how this will turn out, but Jonnu isn’t pulling a Ramsey
Everything I have heard was Jannu wants to stay in Miami. Grier sucks!
with Jonnu it’s been reported he’s not trying to break the bank either, something has crawled up Grier’s ass and it doesn’t smell rosie
^
this post yesterday was in regards to Jonnu trade talks, was surprised no one had posted anything about it

every time things start looking up this bozo looks to trade another star player
👍see what you can do with this
something like sitting would be good
Darnell Washington would be that all around TE, that MM covers, he hasn’t really hit the ground running in the NFL, he’d be a risk
Jonnu fits perfectly with Tua, short passes with YAC, so of course bad grief wants to trade him
could not would
Hope so.
PFF predicts that former Tennessee Vols standout will be one of the NFL’s most improved players in 2025
Wyo – Jonnu wanting a new contract and more money is normal off season stuff. Grier talking to the Steelers about a trade is abnormal. Can’t that Fuck keep it in house and take care of business properly? Why is he making calls to clubs? The same leaks happened with Ramsey. These leaks don’t benefit the team trying to trade the player if it comes to that, so why leak it?
Trade talk is very normal!
I would trade any player on this team for the right price!!!
Can anyone say we have a “franchise player” on the team right now?
I’ve not read anywhere that said we reached out to Pitt?
On the other hand they have Jannu’s old OC and HC that implicates them calling us
True
it’s usually scumbags like Rosenhaus that are the leakers
An article from Dolphins Talk said the Dolphins should trade Jannu if the offer is a 3rd or 4th round pick. Their reasoning is Jannu only played 55% of offensive snaps due to his lack of blocking ability.
I look at it differently. That kind of production playing only 55% of snaps shows how big of a weapon he is and how valuable he is to the offense.
Wyo – then shop the one fucking player you should be shopping because he’s killing your cap and your team. Tua!!!
Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
The Dolphins have had trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers about their lone Pro-Bowl selection last season, tight end Jonnu Smith, per league sources. Those talks came after Smith expressed an interest in reworking his deal that is scheduled to pay him $4.8 million this season. With Smith seeking a new contract, Miami has sought a trade partner. Last season, Smith set the franchise record for a tight end in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Smith’s preference, per sources, is to stay in Miami under a reworked deal.

Wyo – as per Schefter, “With Smith seeking a new contract, Miami has sought a trade partner.” That sound like the Steelers called the Dolphins or vice versa?
Now, another TE on the trading block. It’s being reported that “teams” are contacting the Falcons about Kyle Pitts who has never lived up to his draft status.
He comes way too expensive as he is playing on his 5th year option at 10.9m.
Just wonder if Grier made this public after hearing teams talking to the Falcons about trading for Kyle Pitts.
Maybe Steelers didn’t want to give up what Grier was asking for. So, Grier goes public to let those teams know he has a better option than Pitts.
Probably just reaching.
If a Jannu trade happens, what do you think of signing Gerald Everett? Everett’s #’s was very similar to Jannu’s before coming to Miami. They are both similar in play style.
I think it’s the agent that leaks these things. Almost always
Mike – I watched a good amount of the Falcons last season because I had Bijan Robinson on my FF team. Pitts is just not good. It’s crazy, he has all the physical attributes, but he just can’t do it on rhe field in the NFL, and he’s had good QB’s too
Rock – so you think agents put out false information or they just tell reporters what’s actually happening?
both depending on the situation.
they are generally scumbags who played all sides for their own benefit.
Rick – so you’re saying Grier doesn’t suck. Phew!! I feel better now.
I am assuming this was addressed to me, and not some unknown Richard.
you know, my opinion, as evidenced by my avatar
pretty much the only thing we disagree on is how much Tua sucks.
I just placed more blame on the team than you do as I watched the games with open eyes and saw the dropped passes and the false starts on first and second down and the holding calls And the defense giving up touchdowns in less than a minute after tour and the offense
fucking WordPress!!
Tua and the offense what score in the fourth quarter to gain the lead
I feel that the fire used to burn down. The facilities in Miramar should be started with the rendered fat from griefs fat carcass
Rock- we used to have a Rick here, remember GetterDone? Yes, that was for you
I remember geterdone Just didn’t know his name was rick.
Hell, although I have met Many of you. I don’t know your real name names 😂 Your name might not even be Mike
Tim’s is not Tim after all 😆 and you people are the only ones who call me, Rock, which is actually my bosses name
Mike E,
Nice write and I 100% agree with ya on the Jonnu Smith situation. So IF Jonnu gets traded for another pick in ’26, our Draft cupboard will be overflowing… at the cost of having an abysmal ’25 season.
I’d say Coach McD is getting setup for failure in’25, he’ll be fired, and our Draft cupboard will be too enticing for a new HC in ’26… an established HC.
IMO, Chris Grier is in on this betrayal and he’ll remain our GM in ’26 and beyond. I suspect team brass has something on Coach McD and he has little to no say on what goes down in terms of personnel.
So why don’t they just fire McD now? They want McD to be the fall guy for an abysmal season in a ‘soft tank’ for a better pick in ’26… to trade up for one of the darling QBs.
I’m not going to run with this as a hypothesis or a ‘conspiracy theory’, but it sure as hell looks that way to me right now from the outside looking in.
If it were up to me, I’d give Jonnu an honest raise without over-paying him. We have a fighting chance on Offense WITH Jonnu this season. Without him, I feel we’re just mailing this season in on Offense, HOPING we did enough on the O-Line to open up the running game… in an effort to HOPEFULLY end 2-deep Safeties against ‘Reek & Da’ Penguin.
If that plan backfires, we NEED Jonnu.
Ikhine makes Jonnu a less important part of our O, with hopefully a better OL more targets should go to Hill/Waddle lessening further the need for a non-blocking TE
the only thing that makes me think we should keep him is he’s a perfect receiver for Tua
if we pay him 10m what is Sieler and Brooks going to say? What about me
they really need to reverse the precedent set last year giving these guys more money
in Jonnu’s situation he needs to be compensated by what he will do this year and not what he did last year, no scenario I can fathom has him duplicating 2024
I agree with Rock on scumbag agents
I get it, that NFL players do not want to play on the last year of their contracts. They all want more security but I hate that every one of them, if they play will want more money motherfuckers you were paid to play well!!
they didn’t sign you to a two year contract to play like shit!
or add 3 “void years” to spread out your bonus that you were very happy to take upfront
MF13 conspiracy theories, aside, I think Grief will NOT survive another rebuild
(soft or hard)
at least that is my sincere hope
My hope as well!
It’s my sincere hope as well, Brother. He’s shown me enough to date that he’s not the GM who will take us to the Super Bowl. It’s not for a lack of extreme effort, either… he just lacks discipline, the fundamentals of building from the inside out, and I’m certain he must obey the every football whim of a football owner who knows NOTHING about football.
I don’t even despise the guy or anything like that (I actually like the guy as a person), but he’s failed to deliver too many times.
I fear that even if we would have the greatest GM in NFL history, he would ultimately fall… having to do things the ‘Steve Ross way’.
Steve – While Westbrook-Ikhine is a nice red zone target, he won’t get those tough yards that Jonnu got. He doesn’t replace him. Can we not have nice things? Fuck a 3rd or 4th RD pick if it’s still fuckface making the picks, it’s a waste!
don’t remember saying replace

I think this is a very well thought out post, Steve. The only response I have for that is IF everything goes according to plan regarding our running game… alleviating 2-deep Safeties all day… then we probably won’t need Jonnu.
Even the best-laid plans can become futile if… let’s say a guy or two gets injured. Oh, it WILL HAPPEN, because we’re the Dolphins! LOL
Having Jonnu on the team is almost akin to having flood insurance. You think you probably won’t need it, but when you drop it, then it’s going to flood.
I hear ya on ‘what would Sieler and Brooks say?’, and about Jonnu not replicating his ’24 performance should ‘Reek & Da’ Penguin replicate their ’22 and ’23 performances… along with our RBs.
We still need to sign a vet CB (IMO), I’d like a decent starting S, and I still want a vet Guard as insurance on the O-Line… paying Jonnu more $$$ could compromise getting this accomplished.
It’s very unfortunate this whole Jonnu issue has surfaced… I’m not sure what to do now.
And as mentioned previously, teams are looking at trading for Kyle Pitts… who like Jonnu Smith, is another former Arthur Smith player.
Is it just me, or is the NFL actively trying to destroy our Phins??? For instance, if Pitts is valued as a 3rd round pick, that most assuredly that drops the value of Jonnu. Why? Because Pitts is that much younger than Jonnu and he’s a former 1st round Draft pick.
It’s a funkin’ dick move to lower the value of Jonnu… coming right off the heels of the Jonnu news.
As Rockphin stated earlier, there’s no doubt that an agent leaked this stuff in order to capitalize on the situation. There are no coincidences.
Just read this…
https://www.steelernation.com/2025/05/30/steelers-likely-jonnu-smith-agent-leverage
In any normal season, I would say the Steelers would in no way, shape or form entertain trading away a pick to get a skill player. This season, they did very unlike the Steelers way trade for DK Metcalf, and I’m guessing sooner than later they’re going to sign Kirk Cousins. All a very a different approach from business as usual for the Steelers, so I can’t completely discount that they would potentially make a deal for a TE that could help them now. Jonnu > Kyle Pitts at this very moment.
The Stealers* may be trying to entice A-Rod to sign with them by upgrading at TE… and that includes either of Jonnu or Pitts. Either way, I don’t like it as it pertains to us.
And remember… Kirk Cousins is still a member of the Falcons. The Stealers* would have to TRADE for him, unless he’s outright released.
Falcons won’t release Cousins. They would take an extra 10m cap hit this year. Trading him will clear 27.5m. That’s a 37.5m difference.
yup
I’m gonna wait and see on this. I hope he’s on the team this year.
^
M – My guess is it wouldn’t take much for the Steelers to get Cousins. Atlanta would love to lose his salary
It’s strange how the Steelers have gone about their QB situation.
Especially when the first QB they signed was Skylar Thompson.
Wow, RIP Hot Lips Houlihan, Loretta Swit passes away at age 87.
RIP Hot Lips
Something is starting to make sense to me. It’s been rumored that the Falcons are one of the teams wanting Ramsey. I didn’t see it happening because they don’t have much cap space. Well, after 6/1, if they trade Cousins to the Steelers, they will clear 27.5m in cap space this year and will have plenty to trade for Ramsey.
There ya go! I don’t think the Steelers want Rodgers, I think they want Cousins
I agree
Remember when Kyle Pitts was supposedly going to be uncoverable and a great pro? There’s a cautionary tale in there somewhere.
Remember when we said the same thing about Gesicki?
RIP Hot Lips
My fave is Sally Kellerman in the movie, but Loretta Switt was great too. Sad to hear she passed.
I was talking with a bunch of my friends today, we’re all from Brooklyn NY, and we all live in NJ now. We discovered it would be less money for us to fly to Indiana and buy tickets there for Game 6 than it was to buy tickets in NYC at Madison Square Garden. That’s totally fucked! When 3 of my friends and I were 21, we went to the Knicks playoffs in ’84 against the Pistons and then the Celtics and we went to 3 or 4 games for each series, and the prices were reasonable. Now it’s all about the rich and famous and fuck the regular guy! Sucks!
Fuggedaboutit!
Right!
I remember getting tickets about row 25 on the 30 yard line to see Walter Peyton and the Bears vs the Pats in 1982 for like $15.
My buddies and I even got a picture with the Chicago Honey Bears. lol
my dad worked for the airlines. They happen to be in LA during the Super Bowl for the 72 season. He and a buddy decided to walk around just to see what it was all about. They wound up buying tickets off scalper for $10 and watching the ending to the perfect season
Wow!
My mom worked for Eastern Airlines starting ’79 until the union shut em down
it’s how I got to go to Pirates games, playoffs and WS
in the 80s I bought 3 tickets to the NBA Finals Lakers vs Celtics $35 each, we get to the door and my friends sell their tickets for $40 and watch the game across the street in the bar. One dude was so pissed drunk he was puking all the way thru the tunnel on the Pasadena fly
I get tickets for these fuckers and I end up watching the game by myself, assholes
anyone know of Tommy’s Burgers in LA? The dude that puked ate Tommy’s chili burger earlier in the day, that puke was nasty
me and the other guy had puked the week before on separate occasions, and also had eaten at Tommy’s right before, well we all swore we never eat there again, at least I haven’t
I moved to Vegas in 2014 and there’s a Tommy’s at my freeway exit to my house🤮
the article MF posted above suggests Jonnu’s agent is a scumbag
where did i hear that before😜
Eric Smith said, basically same thing. Who has the most to gain by putting out Steelers and Fins in trade discussion for Jonnu? Scumbag and Jonnu
He also said, maybe it went something like this, Steelers called and said we heard Jonnu is on the trade blocks. Fins respond, sure what do you want to trade for him? We’ll take a 2nd otherwise go pound rocks
same type of talks happen with players all the time and no trade happens, just inquiries to see where each side stands
so who knows, it’s a dick move by Rosenscum
LGM!!

I’ve gotten some free stuff from these guys, like softbaits and other gear, just paid $3 for shipping
Dr Juice, scent for softbaits
DouglieDoWrong says Ross has closed his checkbook for these contract restructures yall love, that create dead money
Lots of sports media people don’t think Jonnu will be traded
he says he wants to stay in Miami, and he fits there better than anywhere else
I believe that is the case and hope he stays. Though, I don’t think he will have a season like last year if all the other skill people and Tua stay healthy.
Steve thanks! That is a very good app by salt strong. I have seen advertisements for it. Two of our local youtuber’s who do fishing video’s here in Pensacola and Gulf Shores, AL advertise for salt strong.
I buy tackle from them. Two of my favorite inshore artificials from them are the Slam Shaddy swim bait and if fishing for red fish or trout at sunup the Skinny Lipper jerk bait is killer.
They design all of their own tackle (some copies of other brands) and their prices are really good. I usually go for their bundles.
Thanks again for reminding of that app. Been meaning to check it out.
👍
I got several packs of Slam Shaddy for free 2 years ago, they just asked for
That’s cool, I haven’t gotten any free shit from them. lol

OTA 2 torm Duck
OTA 3 Aaron Brewer

A pitcher got some power when he can throw an 88mph knuckle curve.
Oxymoron name for a pitch
the kickers in the UFL are so accurate, that none of them have ever missed an extra point😜
PFN’s latest 2026 mock draft has us taking Texas ILB Anthony Hill Jr, 6’3, 235, Projected 4.5 forty, 113 tackles, 17 TFL, 8 sacks, 4 FF and 1 INT in 2024.
We will have bigger needs at CB, but this dude would be a solid pick if we are picking in the top 15 again. He’s a complete stud!
Fansided’s latest mock has my guy CB Jermod McCoy going at #6 but still has us taking Clemson CB Aveion Terrell, 5’11, 180, projected 4.39 forty. First year starting in 2024 he had 58 tackles, 5 TFL, 1 sack, 3 FF, 2 FR, 2 INT’s and 12 PD’s.
He’s on the watch list.
Just heard something I hadn’t realized before: Arthur Smith also coached Jonnu Smith while they were both with the Titans. Don’t know if it means much in the greater scheme of things, but there’s that.
We shall see how things proceed…
Methinks Monday’s going to be a news day for some players around the league (post-June 1st movement). Obviously, Jalen Ramsey’s impending trade could be announced.
Yep
Bonner is a practice/ training camp champion, but barely ever sees the field on game day.
IDK what happened to him last year, in 2023 he played pretty good EOY
think he just needs to get his confidence up, 4.3 40 time, great catchup speed
can Quinn Ewers make the Dolphins great again. These guys crack me up. Let’s see if he can make the roster, then next year see if he can be the backup first
Saw that one but didn’t bother to read it because I thought it would be someone’s idiotic take that says much of nothing.
every article that comes out seems to prove Rock’s point, scumbag agent and why no story stays behind the scenes

Agents cause all kinds of problems for teams. Content players don’t make Agents new money. They whisper in their client’s ears causing discontent, they meddle and they tamper behind closed doors. They don’t do it for their clients. They do it for their bank accounts and their reputations, which they leverage with other players. “look, I started that rumor that got so and so an extra 10 Mil, I can do that for you too.”
Pete Alonso is the perfect example: the Mets had a 7 year, $158 million offer on the table two seasons ago. and he turned it down because of what you mentioned. He’ll never get that type of offer again. His agent is Scott Boras.
While still rehabbing, Patriots new starting WR Stephon Diggs was caught in a photo over Memorial Day weekend with some women on a boat and he was holding what is believed to be pink cocaine.
Vrabel didn’t comment and says it’s between Diggs and the team while they look into it.
it was actually a video
Oh, that’s worse
Bri – Pete also bet on himself, and he lost
The UFL uses ex NFL officials from the booth, that decides a challenge, they talk all the way thru watching the video, as transparent as possible
the NFL could do the same, but transparency and the NFL doesn’t exactly go together
the UFL has a super challenge, i believe you get 1 per game, you can use it on missed nkn-calls, like holding, PI, personal fouls… it’s awful, coaches tend to use them on drive stopping plays, TOs and TDs
Decent CB2, with Marshall and Cam added to the mix we should hopefully be ok at CB2
Pretty sure we bring in a CB1
Some good stuff on CB Jason Marshall Jr.
I watch these guys sometimes, pretty homerish, but the Marshall news I’ve heard from other sources too
Yeah, they are opposite of the MikeE spectrum. lol
I watched Melifonwu and Ashtyn review from Ryder again, both seem to fit what Weaver wants to do
We had roughly zero ints last year, we bring in Ashtyn to help with that, Melifonwu is a big 6’3″ safety that can cover TEs and can blitz and tackle, his issue is health, think between McMorris and Trader we’ll be OK, if he should get hurt
Don’t think it’s a stretch to think we’re better at S, than what played out last year, also bigger and more physical, which should help against playoff teams
changing the culture to bigger/stronger players can only help change the late season collapsess and playoff drought, should we get there
we may suck this year, we won’t be following the same lame duck path, either way win/lose in the standings it’s a win
4
FYR (fuck you Ramsey)
4 hours until we get rid of him
Steve – It’s a stretch, but you’re a tall fella, so . . . 🙂
a stretch to say our 2024 safety room was anything but awful?
No, that what we have will be any better
This world is getting scarier and scarier every day. Over the last 24 hours… Russia allegedly suffered their own “Pearl Harbor” at the hand of Ukraine drone strikes (so much for peace talks, the retaliation will be horrific), the NYT is alleging Iran now possesses roughly 10 nuclear ICBMs, and what looks to be a terror attack today in Boulder, Colorado (fire bombing of protesters).
Not a good last 24 hours to be a living being on the 3rd rock from the sun.
Our Dolphins had better get it together before the ‘fireworks phase’ of WW3 reigns down.
Or rains down… depending on how one looks at it.
Still no word or early leaks of a Ramsey trade going down. If we do have multiple suitors, I’ve got no problem in making the trade greater for us… as opposed to wanting to see it happen ASAP.
Oh yeah, this also caught my attention earlier this morning. The southern states of America may be able to see incredible auroras tonight…

JUST IN – Earth hit by severe G4 geomagnetic storm — NOAA
https://dolphinstalk.com/2025/06/espn-analyst-calls-dolphins-secondary-worst-position-group-in-the-nfl/
But, but we haven’t seen them as a group yet….
Talent and experience alone, don’t know about every other team’s secondaries, I’d find it hard to believe this is even debatable
Pete Prisco from CBS Sports was on the Joe Rose Show this morning. He said the Dolphins are the worst team in their division this year. Joe asked him about the perception of the Dolphins that they’re soft, and Pete says he hears it all around the NFL, from other teams fans and other teams players too. They’re regarded as a soft team. That’s the deal, and until they do something that says otherwise, that’s what they are
They are what their HC is. At least, I think that is why they are perceived that way.
I agree, and the QB too, who is the HC’s little bundle of joy
I hope they keep putting this shit out there and keep adding fuel to their fire.
Yes, force MM to change, cause we all know he cares about everyone’s feelings more than anything
how is this snotty nosed kid an NFL HC
“Here’s what I will say on behalf of my client: Jonnu would definitely like to stay in Miami,” Rosenhaus said on WSVN-7. “That’s his first choice. This is where he lives in the off-season. He had a record-breaking season last year.
“It was the best season ever for a Miami Dolphin tight end… He broke the team record for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns for a tight end and was the team’s single Pro Bowl player. He’s an incredibly valuable part of this team… He went to college at FIU. His dream team is the Dolphins.
“Hopefully, everything works out where he can stay in Miami.”
Well, he is under contract so there is no “hope” involved you dirty fuck stick!
with that said, he’s a perfect fit in Miami
what he won’t tell Jonnu is, if he stays in Miami he’ll likely have a longer career and make more money overall
he is NOT a perfect fit in Miami. He is just the best receiving TE we have had in a while.
A perfect fit would be someone who can block as well. That is not him.
Perfect fit for him, where else is he going to have the field open, because the safeties are laying back doubling Hill/Waddle?
my statement stands. He is not a perfect fit. Miami WANTS a TE that can block in the pass and run games, not just a big WR.
Driscoll and the ESPN guy aren’t wrong to make those claims
when Tua lit up the Ravens in that huge 4th qtr come from behind 21pt win, the Ravens secondary was depleted, much like ours is now
the most likely conclusion is, when the season is over, ESPN guy will be correct
the soft talk has less of a chance to be still talked about at season’s end, but until the culture has actually changed, it’s soft for now
someone other than fans on a message board need to drill Grier and MM about their team
@RapSheet
Sources: #Lions All-Pro and Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow, one of the game’s best, has informed the team he plans to retire. A stellar career comes to a close.
would have been nice to his team if he had told them when they had a chance to replace him. Like, before the draft.
Absolutely. Same thing with Connor Williams last year in Seattle.
I am sure he wanted to give it a go on another run to a SB. Like Armstead, the mind and heart is there but the body just won’t hold up.
Ragnow has been a beast and played through some tough injuries every year the last 6 years.
2019 Ankle injury and concussion, still played 99% of snaps
2020 Fractured throat, still played 100% of snaps
2021 Turf Toe, played 79% of snaps
2022 Turf Toe, ankle injury, groin injury, calf injury, back injury and knee injury, but still played 99% of snaps (1074 snaps)
2023 Ankle injury, still played 96% snaps
2024 Torn pectoral muscle, still played 97% snaps
The dude is a true warrior for pushing through 2022 alone. MM would of had him on IR several times.
He’s the type of OL you want.
I badly wanted to draft him!
I remember
BTW, the Lions drafted stud IOL Tate Ratledge out of UGA and are working him at Center along with Graham Glasgow.
They also drafted IOL Miles Frazier out of LSU.
They must have knew it was coming, just not put out there like the Armstead drama.
@saquon
Honored to be on the cover of
@EAMaddenNFL
madden curse coming up!
That was my very first thought as well! LOL
@AdamSchefter
Another retirement: Veteran CB Ronald Darby, who played 10 seasons and helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII, informed the Houston Texans that he is retiring from the NFL, per sources.
The dolphins were waiting to make another post 6/1 move and that was to make Armstead’s retirement official. They have not done it yet, but, when they do, it will clear another 1.2m in cap this year and clear 11.4m in 2026 cap.
The Lions, more than likely, asked him to retire post 6/1 so they can split up his dead cap over 2 years. Much like the Dolphins have done with Armstead.
him = Ragnow
The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have placed tackle Terron Armstead on the reserve/retired list.
Ha! There it is
BBM,
Are you familiar with E-40?
I know Jahndoh and Cav Kong are… Cav Kong actually met E-40 once upon a time!
I’m also pretty sure Elephant Rider knows who E-40 is.
E-40 did ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ and it dropped today. Live music with live musicians. I think it turned out rather well! I actually got goose-bumps several times!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59eBs8iiLU0
I know Son likes these things as well!
Drew Rosenhaus: Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith would ‘definitely like to stay in Miami’ amid trade chatter
so honor your contract, it’s that simple, if you want to talk extension, that’s another issue
assuming Asante Samuel Jr checks out medically, sign him
That could get our secondary overall close to what it was last year (safety play was abysmal 2024) and maybe better with the help of passrush
The pass rush is key. We have the potential to be really good there.
and maybe some push up the middle between Sieler Grant/Phillips
That’s the plan. 🙂
Yikes!
While I will agree with the material substance (?) of this article, I believe it flows from….
https://dolphinstalk.com/2025/06/qualities-of-a-championship-team/
The article lists 3, so here are mine.
….Top down: Strong leadership is most important, starting at the top dog on the field, the coach. Who then finds talented field generals (players) who keep their units “in line with teaching and example….lol…I can’t think of one leader on this team that fits that description. OH MY!
Team chemistry: You can build a championship team without the proper ingredients/mixture AND without strong leadership, chemistry will never happen. You’re just stirring the pot, and hoping for the best. That’s CGs motto…lol. Piece here, piece there, don’t need to develop/keep our own. It’s closer to a concoction than a recipe…let’s see what happens….lol.
Talent: You need as many of the best players you can get, starters to bench, to have a chance IF you have the first two above. Well, on a positive note, we have some talent at most skill positions, but hardly any depth to live by “the next man up” philosophy….which I completely agree with the article.
Lol….some early morning random thoughts on building a championship team.
^oops…”You cannot build…
being older than dirt has its drawbacks
Now we have a good soldier who just wants more than the meager 2YR/$4.8M contract that his play easily exceeded.
Steve, it was a two year 8.4M contract. He is scheduled to get 4.8 this season only. I know we are talking NFL salaries so 4.8 M is “peanuts” but it is more than many many many will ever see in a lifetime of hard work.
It’s not like he is getting vet minimum. He is #32 out of 173 Tight Ends in the league.
I am so sick of players when they have ONE GOOD YEAR wanting to tear up the contract they are playing on and get a new one.
that paragraph was taken from the article, and why I posted it
OK, whomever wrote the article was wrong. I was just correcting it.
@AdamSchefter
Sources: Former Bills and Jaguars WR Gabe Davis is scheduled to travel to Pittsburgh on Wednesday to visit with the Steelers on Thursday. Pittsburgh has been seeking additional receiving help and has inquired about, but is not expected to trade for, Miami TE Jonnu Smith.
Rock – He’s 30 years old, he had a monster career year. I hate all that stuff too but he wants to stay here and just get a more commensurate salary. By all accounts he’s a great guy, not a diva or a douche. I think it’s all relative to the situation. We can say no and then that will be it, but he’s the type of player you want here though.
Agreed. Like Rock has said recently, the agents drive this stuff.
Yeah, sucks for him that he has been a mediocre tight end his entire career EXCEPT for this past season. ONE YEAR does not make a 30 year old player great. He is getting paid a commensurate salary and is under contract for this season.
If he and scum bag Rosenhous want more money have a great season this year and he can get as much as he can in FA next season. (it wont be much more than he is getting on the FA market, BET)
Hill wants 2000 yards
Waddle wants to get back over 1000 yards again
Achane wants 1000 yard receiving
We picked up Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as a red zone threat
We picked up Andrew Armstrong (6’4″ 202)
We have Tarik Black (6’3″ 213)
EZE is still on the sqaud
The two washingtons (Malik & Tahj) are on the squad
Theo Wease Jr (6’2 210) got picked up
Those are a lot of mouths to feed for a team that is going to focus on the running game….
We need a TE who can block out there on most plays.
Smith can want all day in one hand and shit in the other and see which hand fills up first… JMO
Good GM’s do not pay old players for one year wonders.
That said, Greif, being the worst of 32 available will cave and add another 3 void years to his deal to pay him.
— Edge rusher Grayson Murphy had 3.0 sacks Tuesday. Murphy sacks on consecutive plays in 11-on-11. On the first he put a nice move past Larry Borom. The play resulted in an interception by safety Iffy Melinfonwu. The second play he moved past guard Braeden Daniels. His third sack came in a late-practice 11-on-11 play
Our pass rush may very well be good AND deep this season!
That would be a good thing because our secondary looks very suspect…
— Cornerback Cam Smith, who needs to make an impact, bit on a double move during 7-on-7s. Smith had a low-key performance Tuesday.
— Wide receiver Dee Eskridge blew past cornerback Isaiah Johnson for a 35-yard gain on a deep pass in 11-on-11s. The cornerbacks had a rough day even though wide receiver Jaylen Waddle didn’t run many plays.
— Tight end Tanner Conner, one of the most knowledgeable and athletic players on the team, had a nice 25-yard reception from Wilson in 7-on-7. Conner has an opportunity to emerge with Smith absent while in a contract dispute.
YOU GO YOUNG MAN! Make Rosenhous cry.
THIS is the plan?
Player 2024 snaps
Ethan Bonner 16
Artie Burns 51 (Seahawks)
Storm Duck 358
Kader Kohou 708
Cam Smith 133
Elijah Campbell 76
that’s well over a thousand snaps, what possibly could be the issue🤷♂️
LOL
hey Mike, or for that matter anyone out there
ever dealt with with a subconjunctival hemorrhage?
I’m sure I spelled it wrong
guess which 🐷 is dealing with one now. My right eye is completely filled with blood. The white is barely visible – it’s gross
good times (piggy sighs)
See it all the time. Nothing to worry about. The blood will be absorbed by the sclera (white of your eye) in a few days.
mine is pretty bad
it’s been a week. It’s getting lighter so it’s healing but it looks more like weeks than days
I have to wear sunglasses most of the time even when I’m in court 😎
I got so drunk one time while skiing in Breckenridge (at elevation!) that I blew both eyes while retching the next day. (Christmas day!) I looked like a freaking demon. My eyes were both blood red throughout. It took about a week or so to go back to normal. I was visiting my relatives and had Christmas dinner with Mom and Dad the next day. Mom was soooo pissed off. She reused to talk to me. LOL
my right eye is literally just red
I almost wish it was both eyes so I had the 😈 look
I tried an eye patch for a couple of days – and in nyc with it’s crowded streets croweded subways, that’s a mistake
so now o just have dark sunglasses – not even the cool kind bc I had to order prescription shades glassed
I have clip on shades to clip to my glasses
I look like a hitman wearing a a suit covering my eyes like I am holding for authorities
M
Yep! I liked his collaborations with Too Short. I only listen to 90s rap. Lol
Our TE wants more money….he was basically the running game last year.
Trade him, let someone else pay. He can go back to being average somewhere else.
why do we need to pay him more this year?
when we traded for Tyreek he was making about 15m, and we signed him to an extension worth more money
sign Jonnu to an extension, 3 yrs 24 – 30m with 7m fully guaranteed
We need to hire Armstead as special asst OL coach, hope he at least sticks around camp
watch this video, it appears obvious to me Armstead has talked up PP to the point he thinks he’s Zeus
Dude is beaming with confidence
Dig it!

Great movie 👍
M13, I remember E-40. Have not heard anything about him in years. Honestly, I thought he passed away. Talented dude!
As far as Jannu goes, that’s a tough call for me. We need to clear some cap next year without having to screw with Tua’s contract. Giving Jannu extension and paying top 10 money might hurt a little as we currently sit at -1.8m in 2026 cap. That said, Jalin Conyers is the only TE under contract next year.
I would say, give him a 1yr extension that will give him a little more money this year and still keep his 2026 cap hit reasonable. Put in some nonguaranteed incentives for 2026 that wouldn’t affect the cap until 2027.
When Ramsey is traded, that will put our 2026 cap at around +5m.
Not sure how many basketball fans there are on here but Thibs getting canned was big surprise to me as a Knicks fan. Not sure what their plan is, not mad yet because I think Leon Rose has done a good job here, with exception of the Mikal Bridges contract
IDK, but Haliburton was on fire that last 4th qtr for the Pacers.
I only follow come the playoffs and if there is a team I like.
Back in it: the Steelers renewed conversations today with Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith, who is seeking a new contract. The trade between the Steelers and Dolphins is still alive, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter
Tidbits from Ryder that he got from various media outlets.
Zack Wilson threw a pick but it was a tipped ball. Reported that he looked good and comfortable all day.
Safety Davis had his 2nd INT of OTA’s
Grayson Murphy was on fire.
Chop Robinson wore the orange jersey, Tua did the day prior.
WR Eskridge is really standing out so far but it’s still early. He caught another deep shot and has been making tough catches every OTA.
UDFA WR AJ Henning is standing out also.
Wright had a run on a well blocked play that would have been a 70 yard TD.
The communication on pre and post snap rotations on defense have been almost flawless. Everyone seems to be on same page on defense already. Big part of that is from the leadership of Darth Kader. Artie Burns was also mentioned.
A. Burns sighting, put him in the slot and let Kohou play outside
they said Kohou looks like Prime X out there compared to everyone else
Interesting. We had an Indiana legendary coach in HS. We ran the wishbone and maybe only passed 10-12 times a game. Still, my coach would have the WR’s, TE’s and RB’s show up in the gym 15 minutes early before every practice to juggle tennis balls to work on our hand eye coordination.
Don’t hear about it because doesn’t seem like much but it’s the first time in a long time I have heard players doing it. Waddle said that is what Miami’s new WR coach is having him do.
It works, I don’t think I can remember anyone ever dropping a pass in any of our games. I really think it helped me focus, catch the ball more cleanly and just snatch it out of the air.
