2025 Season – Game 6 – Chargers @ Dolphins

Let me preface this article by saying that I completely and fully understand how just how bad this team really is. I know 2 very important units, the offensive and defensive lines are inadequate. Our first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft was at #13, Michigan DT Kenneth Grant. He’s been ranked as one of the worst DT’s in the NFL for his play through 5 games. Our 2nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, one that required GM Chris Grier to trade picks #48, #98 and #135 for pick #37 and #143 from the Las Vegas Raiders. Guess what folk? If you guessed that OG Jonah Savaiinaea is rated as one of the worst OG’s in the NFL through 5 games, you’d be right. Stay with me for a second. Our #1 pick in RD1, #13, is either rated the worst, or darn close in the NFL. I can guarantee you that there are other rookie DT’s drafted and playing that aren’t as bad as our valuable 1st RD pick. I can also guarantee you that there are a bunch of OG’s taken after Jonah Savaiianea was drafted that are playing and are doing better than the player we needed to trade multiple picks for. A career isn’t determined by 5 games, but it looks bad on Chris Grier right now, because the way this team is assembled, we need both of these players right now, and have needed them since the season began because we don’t have anyone better to replace them with. Are you starting to realize that this needs to be the last time GM Chris Grier runs a draft for this team?

Now onto my favorite topic. I was thinking to myself about things that both Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel said about QB Tua Tagovailoa. We need him to stay healthy, we need him on the field so we don’t want him doing anything that puts himself in harms way. at 1-4, I say do we really need QB Tua Tagovailoa to be healthy and playing QB for us and playing to stay out of harms way? How’s that working Chris, Mike? What if you tell QB Tua Tagovailoa let it all hang out, play with reckless abandon and get us back into this season? Would he say no? Does it matter if he gets hurt? I watched NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart beat up on the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. He played with reckless abandon, put his body on the line, and the team is energized by him and they respond by playing better. Turn on a Bucs game any week, and there’s QB Baker Mayfield putting his body in harms way and leading his team to victories. He’s a leader, and not only leads his team with words, he leads by example. Is Tua more important than Baker Mayfield? Do Tua’s teammates not deserve that type of effort from their QB? What exactly does Tua inspire? Nothing! He’s like a wet rag, and his response in his presser that win or lose it doesn’t matter because when he gets home he gets to see his wife and kids and that’s all that matters. While he’s not wrong as far as life is concerned, fans, and probably teammates don’t want to hear that shit. Time to either get this guy to do what needs to be done or sit his ass down and let Zach Wilson play for a few weeks until you can get rookie QB Quinn Ewers up to speed with the offense and get him plenty of reps so when he takes the field, he’s ready. Maybe it’s game 10 or 14, but that should be the plan.

Back to this dreadful season, we host the Los Angeles Chargers. Oooh, get excited, another matchup of 2020 Draft QB’s, #5 Tua Tagovailoa vs #6 Justin Herbert. Since Jim Harbaugh has taken over the Head Coach duties for the LA Chargers, QB Justin Herbert has been a different player. Last season Herbert was a much more careful QB, throwing only 3 INT’s the entire season. The Chargers went 11-6 and lost in ugly fashion to the Houston Texans 32-12 in their Wild Card matchup. This season, the Chargers are 3-2 and tied for 1st place with the Denver Broncos. The Dolphins are one step above the basement thanks to the NY Jets who are on track for the first pick in the NFL Draft. At this point, if Chris Grier is still with this organization it doesn’t matter if we pick #1 or #32, he will screw it up anyway.

Will we still be the De’Von Achane’s on offense, or will they allow a few others to participate? Anyone watch the NY Giants against the Philadelphia Eagles? You this guy Cam Skattebo kicking some ass? We drafted a RB in RD 6, RB Ollie Gordon who put up very similar stats to Cam Skattebo in the same conference, the Big 12. Ollie Gordon has 21 carries in 5 games, and most times, it’s just one carry and back out. He’s a physical runner and he needs reps, consecutive reps to get going, like maybe a good amount of a drive. Nope, they’ll run Achane into the ground. We saw Darren Waller have tons of success in the first half of last weeks game and then POOF! He disappeared! Waller had 5 catches for 78 yards and 1 TD. Now he’s questionable for this game as he’s logged only one limited practice so far this week with his recurring hip injury. This offense, team is so stale, it’s like the cheese doodle that fell under your couch 4 years ago and even the house insects don’t want to eat it anymore.

Our defense is allowing the 2nd highest average yards per carry at 5.6 in the NFL. We’re allowing the highest passer rating in the NFL at 117.6. On offense, we have scored the least amount of points in our division, yes, less than the Jets, scoring 107 points, which BTW, is better than the LA Chargers who have scored 98. The big difference is the Chargers have only allowed 97 points while our Dolphins defense has been generous enough to allow 145, good for 27th in the NFL. I blame mostly Grier, he assembled this roster, so this is his baby, but I don’t know if there’s a coach on this team I want to see back in 2026 in any capacity. Surely, none of them deserve to be HC. I can tell you I’d take former Dolphins LB Coach Anthony Campanile back, but on this staff right now, no thanks!

I don’t know what’s going to happen this week but I know I’d rather have the HC of the Chargers over our Capri Pants Wearing Mumbler. I wanted Jim Harbaugh for years. He’s crazy AF, but that guy is a hardass coach who knows how to win. On that note, if/when the curtain falls on Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier, who are our potential Head Coach candidates. I know many of you have already dismissed former HC Jon Gruden. I would be absolutely fine with hiring him. He knows how to do the entire job, not just one facet of it. He’s won a Superbowl, but that doesn’t disqualify him for me, knowing that no Head Coach has won a Super Bowl with 2 different teams in NFL history. Let’s back to being a good football team and I’ll worry about not winning a SB later!

I would be fine with Gruden. I just hope this staff doesn’t. mess it up and give Ross hope…LOL

If you haven’t seen it or read it, here’s what he said

Tua Tagovailoa on fan criticism this season: “I’m not on social media… I go home, I see my kids. Whether I throw 5 picks or 5 touchdowns, we win the game, we lose the game, I get to come home to my kids who are happy to see me every time.” (

  3. New Age's avatar New Age says:

    Mike,

While I don’t want Grier back, I put far more of the blame on McDonald’s Happy Meal and his fine group of underachievers. You can draft the best talent available, and they still need NFL talent teachers to get to their best form. Do we have that on this team? And what would make you think that?

On ESPN’s top 100 talent group for 2025, Grant was in top 25, Savaiinea was in top 54. So, talent evaluators had them around the position taken and both are huge men. Grant should be plugging the DL. Sava should be moving people.

I have a question. If we had Harbaugh or Gruden, would those guys be doing better? I 100% believe they would be. Why? Better teachers. Better set up. I’d love to see Gruden here, but Ross is a hardcore liberal pansy. I don’t see him wanting to win nearly as much as wanting to virtue signal being a nice guy. A guy wanting to win would put that first on his agenda. Keeping Grier and McD after their incredible failures is not what a winning owner would endorse.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You don’t think Anthony Weaver knows how to teach D-Line? He was a D-line coach for years, and under John Harbaugh. On the offensive side, Lemuel Jeanpierre played OG and is supposed to be a good coach. McDaniel is a different story. I don’t think Mike is involved in the daily teachings of the O-line.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Add into the equation that our D-line is Grant – Phillips – Sieler, or Benito Jones in place of Phillips. Two rookies starting right next to each other. That’s not a formula for success, they’re probably not strong enough, but this is what Grier has given the team

  4. New Age's avatar New Age says:

    Mike,

Yeah, not saying Grier did a good job because he didn’t. But Weaver probably has a lot more on his plate as the DC than teaching new DL. Maybe he does a little of it, but I doubt very much overall. I guess we’ll see if both Jeanpierre and Weaver get NFL jobs in the same position after McD is canned.

We’ve had 3 DCs under McD. He’s still our playcaller even after the failures of last year and this year. He doesn’t expect his top players to come to work on time and babies them. How could his assistants get more out of players when they know the HC can’t handle adversity? Any organization or team is only as good as its leadership. How can we have a top coaching group when the HC is incompetent?

  5. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

BBM wanted us to draft Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo. Just sayin.

Someone on here told BBM that Dart wouldn’t be a good NFL QB. Not bad so far.

As MikeE said, “He played with reckless abandon, put his body on the line, and the team is energized by him and they respond by playing better.”

  6. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

New Age – don’t you think it’s a lot to ask all these rookies on the D-line to play together? That’s on Grier. They have no other personnel

  7. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Thank you, Mike E.! I can’t imagine how hard it is to write about this team this year.

I’m in a very apathetic place this season (seeing the performance on the field) and I think the only way that changes is if CG and MM are released at year’s end.

  8. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I don’t believe coordinators do much coaching of technique. I think they design their side of the ball and tech guys how to run their scheme with other coaches. Frankly, I’m not really sure how much coaching or practice time professionals put into basic technique. It’s one of the big reasons so many college OL suck at the next level. They don’t get taught this stuff in college, and the pros spend zero time doing it.

  9. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,

Many good questions. The problem is fans really have no clue. None of us know what goes on at practices. We’re all just guessing. I’m fine with young guys playing right now, if they can handle it. This team wasn’t going anywhere this year anyway so get these young guys reps.

Grant has all the makings of a really good DL. I like his potential but he was always a guy who everybody could see would need to be shaped. He needed to be pushed. He isn’t even close to his potential…but he has to want it. So far, I haven’t seen it. But, I’m okay with that after 5 games for a rookie. Chill brah!

Jonah is a different story. He’s playing pretty much like I thought he would based on his college reps at guard. While I’m not high on him, I do think he could end up being an NFL starter….just not much more than an average one. That isn’t so bad if he gets there. It’s all projection at this point. They’re rookies! Lol

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You’re right Randy, we’re almost as clueless as the guys running the show. Sad situation. My guess is, if you put Kenny Grant next to an All Pro NT/DT and you have Sieler on the other side, Grant would have an easier time. When both he and the NT (Either Jordan Phillips or Benito Jones) are getting blown off the line, and sometimes Sieler too, he’s most likely going to struggle as well. Add in we’re not getting enough pressure from the combo of Chubb, Phillips and Chop, and it makes it even worse.

  10. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

I brought up Gruden a couple days ago! Nice! No more first time give it a try guys!

Thanks for the write Mike E! We stink!

  11. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Some really good college games this weekend!

Starting with a game that could be interesting tonight with #24 South Florida at 5-0 North Texas.

Reason it interests BBM is North Texas redshirt freshman QB Drew Mestemaker. He will be draft eligible in 2027. He’s 6’4, quick release and good ball placement/accuracy. Through 5 games, he has 1247 yards passing, 11 TD’s and 0 INT’s.

He is going to be a hot commodity for the transfer portal after this season.

Game is on ESPN2 at 6:30pm central time.

  12. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    Saturday’s slate:

#1 Ohio State at #17 Illinois

    #8 Alabama at #14 Missouri

    #7 Indiana at #3 Oregon

    #6 Oklahoma at Texas

    #10 Georgia at Auburn

    #15 Michigan at USC

    South Carolina at #11 LSU

    #18 BYU at Arizona

    #21 ASU at Utah

There are other good games also.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

The review concerns the actions of Giants coach Brian Daboll, who looked into the medical tent and was later shown yelling at the team doctor following an injury to Dart in the third quarter.

  14. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver gets nauseated watching his own unit.

“There are times in that game [Week 5 loss to Carolina] when you’re watching tape and you want to throw up,” Weaver said Thursday.

“Particularly because it’s some of the guys that were making some of the errors. It was just, it was, it was unlike them.”

“I try not to do anything in anger and frustration,” Weaver said. “I’m in the solution business. I’m in the problem-solving business. So I give myself 24 hours, right? There’s 24 hours or certainly there can be a little anger, rage, but then you got to shake it off and you got to get back to all right, ‘How do we attack these problems?'”

  15. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

“because it’s some of the guys that were making some of the errors”

    ——-

Obviously, he is not talking about the rookies here. Vets making errors they shouldn’t.

    INJURIES

    • Aaron Brewer‘s game status for Sunday versus the Chargers remains uncertain as he deals with a pectoral injury, head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters.
    • LB Tyrel Dodson (concussion) will be ruled out, per McDaniel.
    • CB Storm Duck (ankle) will be listed as questionable, per McDaniel.
    • Elijah Campbell (quad) will be ruled out, per McDaniel.
  17. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I hate that the IU/Oregon game is at 2:30pm(central). I usually take my nap at 3pm before I have to come in to work. Looks like BBM is going to stay up for about 24 hours. lol

Good on Ryder to address Chop’s very limited snaps this season. Chop most certainly needs to be seeing more snaps.

  18. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

    Mike,

Regarding the comments by Tua about going home to his family, that is great, glad he has his priorities in order, but he just seems to be bad at judging the climate in the room so to speak. I would have liked to see him say something to the affect that the fans have every right to be critical and upset, and that he is also. I wished he would say he is pissed. He can say he sucks at his job and be pissed about it, and also brag about how close he is to his family, they are not mutually exclusive. LOL.

Another thing, whenever an athlete says they are not on, or do not pay attention to social media, they are lying.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Thanks for the answer. That’s the thing Bookman, I know in my heart his answer is correct as far as his internal thinking up to a point. I’m a competitor, never played professional sports, never got paid, but always felt a certain feeling that I owed it to myself and my teammates to do whatever was necessary to win. Telling reporters he doesn’t care whether he wins or loses or throws 5 TD’s or 5 INT’s, he’s going home to his family is not what fans want to hear, especially those that really care about the team, and those that pay huge sums of money to watch them play whether it’s the NFL package on TV or fans buying season tix. We don’t want to hear that shit from him, especially after not getting it done at crunch time 2 weeks in a row.

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

What I hear is I got my money. If we win great, but if we lose no biggie. That’s not the attitude I would want out of my QB.

As a fan family is great, but we are concerned with building a winning team in Miami and having a legitimate franchise QB.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Right on Rich – Clearly a complete a disregard for frustrated fans who want better and probably want to replace him, and probably to his teammates to that put their bodies in harms way every week, even if he refuses to do so!

I’m not going to lie. I want it to get ugly, even uglier than it is now. Not injuries, just losing in embarrassing fashion. The dark side is flowing, and I crave more carnage. I think it’s the only chance Ross will purge the team of Grier and McDaniel, although I hear Grier could be reassigned. Reassigned to what exactly? Parking lot valet? Hot dog vendor? M – Do you speak to any of those guys you mentioned?

  27. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I noticed no comments on trying to replace Tua this season and soon with Ewers, and allowing him to get some meaningful practice reps with the starters. Do you all disagree or is too early?

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I talked about that just yesterday. Yes, I DO think we need to see what we have in Ewers before a new HC and/or GM takes over.

It may be a little too early for that at the moment, but before the end of this season, it would really be nice to see Ewers show what he’s got.

If/when we officially fall out of playoff contention, THEN would be the time to bench Tua and see what Ewers has to offer, IMO.

  28. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Mike E,

Something I need to get off my chest regarding player/personnel: Coach McD is going to get Achane KILLED out there, the way he’s using him!

It’s time to give more time to Wright (once he’s cleared) and most obviously Ollie.

Achane is a very, very special player (I drafted him in my final mock Draft!!!), but he’s no use to use injured, concussed, or flat out destroyed by overuse… it’s not as though he’s built like Ricky Williams.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I agree 100%. It’s downright abusive. I feel the need to ask why is it OK to ask so much of Achane and so little from Tua? I mean Tua chooses to play, and since he’s playing, like i outlined in my article, he should be leaving it all out on the field or this team won’t make the playoffs anyway, so do we really need him if he can’t do that for us?

    INJURIES

    • QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip/left thumb) was a full participant in Friday’s practice and is off the injury report.
    • WR Ced Wilson (knee; full) taken off injury report
    • TE Darren Waller (hip/rest; limited) taken off injury report
    • Aaron Brewer (pectoral; limited) is officially questionable for Sunday’s game versus the Chargers.
    • LB Tyrel Dodson (concussion; limited) ruled out
    • CB Storm Duck (ankle; limited) questionable
    • Elijah Campbell (quad; DNP) ruled out
  32. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

How is Achane being overused? He’s averaging 12 carries and 5 catches a game.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

He’s got 85 touches combined, 60 rushes and 25 receptions. I think it’s more the type of stuff he’s catching, stuff that leaves him very vulnerable and exposed. He’s been probably around 75% of the offense

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s an exaggeration for sure, but he’s been by far the most used offensive player on the team. I worry about him because he’s not a big fella and he’s been hurt before.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I don’t think 17 touches a game is overusing your best offensive weapon.

If Achane was getting 26 touches a game like McCaffrey does, I’d agree he’s being overused, but 17? I think that is about right for a big play weapon like him.

I actually prefer that they are getting some of his touches in the passing game and limiting his touches as a RB to about 10-12 a game. He had one game he ran it 20 times, that is probably a few too many, but it was one game.

I do agree he’s an injury waiting to happen. Every time he touches the ball I’m afraid he’s going to get hurt, but it’s just because he’s a lighter guy. I worry the same on his first carry and his last, not because he’s getting touches, but because he’s a guy that will probably have an injury most years. I feel the same about Waddle.

Anyway, just my opinion. All this stuff doesn’t matter, as long as he doesn’t blow a knee or something that keeps him out into next season, he’ll get hurt this year and be fine next season when hopefully it will start to matter again.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

And after next year if Grier is still our GM he can ‘earn the right to test FA’ and hopefully go to a team where his talent on the field actually accomplishes something.

  33. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Rock – good news and bad news

Bad news is we’re still not on their news wire. lol

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Kong – I hear ya, and you’re not wrong. I suppose if we were a better team on defense we’d have more plays on offense. I just wish we’d give a series or two each game to Ollie

If Jaylen Wight ever shows up healthy and earns practice time and does well, him too.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think we’re all in the same boat of railing against a wasted year with 2/3s of it still left to go, so I get wanting to protect the players that are worth a shit, Achane being at the very top of the list. We all know the injury is coming.

I was just ranting to my wife about this a couple of hours ago. What the heck do we do with the rest of the year? At best – AT BEST – we can look forward to a housecleaning at the end of the season and year one of a rebuild NEXT year. Yippie

And I am honestly not confident AT ALL that Ross is going to fire Grier.

  35. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Kong – We’ve won 1 of 5, so if we stay at this pace and win 3 or 4, I can’t imagine how Ross could possibly justify not firing everyone. Even if we win 6 or 7, I think the fanbase will be want heads to roll. I see on twitter Dolphins season ticket holders talking about selling tickets if they roll this shit back is if we continue to play poorly. I haven’t really seen that up till this point. There are plenty of Tua stans still, but lots of “normal’ fans are fed up with this team

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I desperately hope you’re right. If we do another half reset and keep the effing GM, I just don’t know how the heck I’m going to stomach continuing to support the team.

I’m legit more interested in watching the Lions this year than the Dolphins; which has never happened to me before…

  36. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Cav Kong,

I think (you included) that we’re concerned about using Achane as an every-down back behind this horrific O-Line.

And yes, you are correct in your own words: “We all know the injury is coming”.

It’s time to see what we traded up for (costing us a 3rd rounder!) in Jaylen Wright, and get more use out of Ollie Gordon.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I figure a RB takes hits every touch regardless of oline and I think 12 carries isn’t too much for any back, but yeah I expect an injury sooner rather than later. How can it not happen? We’re the Dolphins.

In my head around 15 touches a game is about right for Achane, but IDK, maybe I’m wrong and he should only be getting 7 or 8 carries as a 3rd down back type to increase the odds he stays healthy; I just believe not getting him more touches would be wasting his playmaking ability.

BTW – Just a fun fact I researched for a twitter response to Omar Kelly.

Last season, Jonnu Smith got 510 of his 884 yards receiving after the catch. Doesn’t that seem impressive?

  38. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

This game against the Chargers at home is going to determine a lot of things. Lose and major changes are coming. Win and the torture continues. 😂

  39. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – do you really think major change is coming? You think one more loss will cinch it? Why?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

1-5 is pretty much guaranteed no playoffs and it shows the team still can’t win a game unless it’s against a team with no wins. 🙄

Translation – We’re tired of this crap and we’re not working any harder than the team has been. They suck!

  42. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Three big games with my 4 favorite QBs playing, what more can you ask for.

Dante Moore, Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza, and John Mateer…

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Ty Simpson is the best passing QB I’ve seen this year. Dante Moore has the advantage with running, but Ty is “2nd to no one” when it comes to throwing the ball.

  43. Randy's avatar Randy says:

The “what the fuck we suck anyway” attitude is what I don’t want to see infecting the young players on this team. Frankly, I thought last year trended that way for players, and it took a quick down turn this year. Fans feeling that way is one thing, but I really hope that culture isn’t seeping in to our youngsters. You can’t reach your potential in that sort of cesspool.

  44. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Rock- yeah, same here with Phins.com.

Not sure what’s going on there

  45. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Ty Simpson has made a couple big time NFL throws today. He has been constantly pressured throughout the game, but still has made some clutch plays. Not his best game, but he may have impressed me even more.

  46. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Indiana looking very good on Defense on Oregon’s first Offensive drive.

  47. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

3-0, Indiana. Mendoza looks very poised to me, including a really nice ‘throw to a spot’ before the WR even turns around.

  48. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Drew Allar: 1 for 2 with an INT against Northwestern. PSU 0 NW 3

  49. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Oregon’s D-Line is pretty formidable against Indiana’s O-Line. Mendoza didn’t have much of a chance on that drive.

  50. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

10-10 in Eugene. It’s just shy of halftime, but Mendoza (IMO) is playing much better than Dante Moore.

  51. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Indiana absolutely HOSED on a no DPI call. It was blatant and bad.

  52. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  57. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Oregon’s TE Sadiq? One target, 0 receptions.

  58. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Dante Moore’s TD (and it went for 44 yards) was the result of broken coverage or miscommunication. Something box score scouts won’t realize.

  59. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m seeing Mendoza making BIG BOY (NFL) throws. He’s really catching my eyes. Moore? Not so much.

  60. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

why would a QB ever run outside and take a sack a few yards short of the LOS, when they could easily pitch it forward and avoid the loss?

been seeing that a lot this season, NFL too, but never from Josh Allen

its retarded to me, IDK maybe there’s some personal stat it improves, by not having the incomplete pass

Ken O’Brien used to do that in the Marino era

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It drives me nuts. Yards matter, so often freaking inches matter, they shouldn’t give up half a yard to save the incompletion.

I know sometimes they have to be aware if their linemen have started moving downfield (say to block), because then it would be ineligible downfield, but most of the time that isn’t the case.

I think it goes back to the lower football IQ of so many players.

Oh boy! Oregon with the pick-6 from Mendoza.

  64. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

MF, not sure what you want Dante to do. The Oregon OL looks like Miami’s today. I know you are still hurt with Penn St losing at home to Oregon, but non of the receivers are getting open and the RBs are getting hit 3 yards behind the line on rushes. Yes, Mendoza is playing very good, but he struggled his last game too. It happens with QBs, they do have an off-day now and then.

With that said, Mateer has fallen out of my round 1. I only have 3 ranked as 1st rounders right now. …Simpson, Moore, and Mendoza.

BTW, I’m busting you chops on Penn St. lol

  65. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Hey! It’s all good, bud! I’m liking both QBs (Mendoza and Moore) in a battle of two top-10 teams.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

they’re so different, I don’t think it will be any more than Mendoza got it done vs a top teams on the road as Moore did against PSU

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I think Mendoza is tge better pro prospect, would be nice, if Oregon won and Moore jumped ahead

  72. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The plays Mendoza makes seems to be more of the NFL variety, with that same I believe his game transfers better

  73. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Indiana LB Aiden Fisher is a STUD!

    ————

I have mentioned him quite a few times dating back to last year. He is a real deal ILB. The other IU LB Jones with the last INT is a playmaker as well.

  85. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Indiana FS Farrell had a down game. BBM not so quick to take him in the 3rd round now.

  86. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

The turnaround in the IU football program since Cignetti arrived is nothing short of amazing. Where I lived in north central Indiana everyone wore either a Purdue or ND jersey. 91. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    NIL money ruining college football

smaller schools loose anyone NFL worthy thru the transfer portal

for schools like the U its great, they can get a top QB and other top players year after year, as long as they’re willing to pay

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

There is an NIL cap at 20.5m. Though, small schools probably can’t afford that.

Also, just like in the NFL, college teams are findings way around that cap. Like getting them local sponsorship deals in addition to NIL money. Quite a few schools have created marketing departments just for that purpose.

  92. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I saw the new stinky Sanchez video, seemed like he was waiting on someone to buy drugs

how does someone in his position do what he did?

unless of course he’s addicted to something and can’t help himself

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Could be. I mean, to be only know for the “Butt Fumble” has got to build up on you. I am sure drunk fans remind him of it all the time. Got to numb that emotional pain.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

He was definitely acting sketchy, then he randomly ran down that alley after the truck. Maybe he thought that was his guy…or maybe it was his guy and it went bad, lol.

  93. Randy's avatar Randy says:

There were a few of us who were not in favor of drafting Tua. He’s just not the kind of QB I prefer. But, I was willing to give him the chance to show he could be a winner. It’s not that Tua is a terrible QB or bad guy. He is a slightly above average QB for what he does. I’ll also give him the benefit of the doubt that he’s a good kid. If he was winning, nobody would give shit one what he said.

If the only outstanding aspect of your game is your accuracy, you are gonna struggle. It’s not enough in today’s NFL. So, if you’re small AND slow AND you have an average arm AND you’re injury plagued and brittle, it’s just gonna be hard to be a difference maker. Big, strong athletic guys just have more cards in their deck to go to.
