2025 Season – Game 6 – Chargers @ Dolphins

Let me preface this article by saying that I completely and fully understand how just how bad this team really is. I know 2 very important units, the offensive and defensive lines are inadequate. Our first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft was at #13, Michigan DT Kenneth Grant. He’s been ranked as one of the worst DT’s in the NFL for his play through 5 games. Our 2nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, one that required GM Chris Grier to trade picks #48, #98 and #135 for pick #37 and #143 from the Las Vegas Raiders. Guess what folk? If you guessed that OG Jonah Savaiinaea is rated as one of the worst OG’s in the NFL through 5 games, you’d be right. Stay with me for a second. Our #1 pick in RD1, #13, is either rated the worst, or darn close in the NFL. I can guarantee you that there are other rookie DT’s drafted and playing that aren’t as bad as our valuable 1st RD pick. I can also guarantee you that there are a bunch of OG’s taken after Jonah Savaiianea was drafted that are playing and are doing better than the player we needed to trade multiple picks for. A career isn’t determined by 5 games, but it looks bad on Chris Grier right now, because the way this team is assembled, we need both of these players right now, and have needed them since the season began because we don’t have anyone better to replace them with. Are you starting to realize that this needs to be the last time GM Chris Grier runs a draft for this team?

Now onto my favorite topic. I was thinking to myself about things that both Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel said about QB Tua Tagovailoa. We need him to stay healthy, we need him on the field so we don’t want him doing anything that puts himself in harms way. at 1-4, I say do we really need QB Tua Tagovailoa to be healthy and playing QB for us and playing to stay out of harms way? How’s that working Chris, Mike? What if you tell QB Tua Tagovailoa let it all hang out, play with reckless abandon and get us back into this season? Would he say no? Does it matter if he gets hurt? I watched NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart beat up on the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. He played with reckless abandon, put his body on the line, and the team is energized by him and they respond by playing better. Turn on a Bucs game any week, and there’s QB Baker Mayfield putting his body in harms way and leading his team to victories. He’s a leader, and not only leads his team with words, he leads by example. Is Tua more important than Baker Mayfield? Do Tua’s teammates not deserve that type of effort from their QB? What exactly does Tua inspire? Nothing! He’s like a wet rag, and his response in his presser that win or lose it doesn’t matter because when he gets home he gets to see his wife and kids and that’s all that matters. While he’s not wrong as far as life is concerned, fans, and probably teammates don’t want to hear that shit. Time to either get this guy to do what needs to be done or sit his ass down and let Zach Wilson play for a few weeks until you can get rookie QB Quinn Ewers up to speed with the offense and get him plenty of reps so when he takes the field, he’s ready. Maybe it’s game 10 or 14, but that should be the plan.

Back to this dreadful season, we host the Los Angeles Chargers. Oooh, get excited, another matchup of 2020 Draft QB’s, #5 Tua Tagovailoa vs #6 Justin Herbert. Since Jim Harbaugh has taken over the Head Coach duties for the LA Chargers, QB Justin Herbert has been a different player. Last season Herbert was a much more careful QB, throwing only 3 INT’s the entire season. The Chargers went 11-6 and lost in ugly fashion to the Houston Texans 32-12 in their Wild Card matchup. This season, the Chargers are 3-2 and tied for 1st place with the Denver Broncos. The Dolphins are one step above the basement thanks to the NY Jets who are on track for the first pick in the NFL Draft. At this point, if Chris Grier is still with this organization it doesn’t matter if we pick #1 or #32, he will screw it up anyway.

Will we still be the De’Von Achane’s on offense, or will they allow a few others to participate? Anyone watch the NY Giants against the Philadelphia Eagles? You this guy Cam Skattebo kicking some ass? We drafted a RB in RD 6, RB Ollie Gordon who put up very similar stats to Cam Skattebo in the same conference, the Big 12. Ollie Gordon has 21 carries in 5 games, and most times, it’s just one carry and back out. He’s a physical runner and he needs reps, consecutive reps to get going, like maybe a good amount of a drive. Nope, they’ll run Achane into the ground. We saw Darren Waller have tons of success in the first half of last weeks game and then POOF! He disappeared! Waller had 5 catches for 78 yards and 1 TD. Now he’s questionable for this game as he’s logged only one limited practice so far this week with his recurring hip injury. This offense, team is so stale, it’s like the cheese doodle that fell under your couch 4 years ago and even the house insects don’t want to eat it anymore.

Our defense is allowing the 2nd highest average yards per carry at 5.6 in the NFL. We’re allowing the highest passer rating in the NFL at 117.6. On offense, we have scored the least amount of points in our division, yes, less than the Jets, scoring 107 points, which BTW, is better than the LA Chargers who have scored 98. The big difference is the Chargers have only allowed 97 points while our Dolphins defense has been generous enough to allow 145, good for 27th in the NFL. I blame mostly Grier, he assembled this roster, so this is his baby, but I don’t know if there’s a coach on this team I want to see back in 2026 in any capacity. Surely, none of them deserve to be HC. I can tell you I’d take former Dolphins LB Coach Anthony Campanile back, but on this staff right now, no thanks!

I don’t know what’s going to happen this week but I know I’d rather have the HC of the Chargers over our Capri Pants Wearing Mumbler. I wanted Jim Harbaugh for years. He’s crazy AF, but that guy is a hardass coach who knows how to win. On that note, if/when the curtain falls on Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier, who are our potential Head Coach candidates. I know many of you have already dismissed former HC Jon Gruden. I would be absolutely fine with hiring him. He knows how to do the entire job, not just one facet of it. He’s won a Superbowl, but that doesn’t disqualify him for me, knowing that no Head Coach has won a Super Bowl with 2 different teams in NFL history. Let’s back to being a good football team and I’ll worry about not winning a SB later!

  11. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

any other team I would feel confident right now that we would be winning this game. Any other quarterback any other head coach

but I feel like we’re going to lose this game

  12. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

historically this is the moment where we always see the other team make a big play

  13. New Age's avatar New Age says:

We pulled it off. I’ll be damned.

46 seconds with 1 timeout is a lot of time

That was a good drive by Tua. Well done

    nice game-winning drive!!
    if the defense can stop

  22. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

we have zero chance to win this game, the play before 2 minute warning, instead of letting clock run down and the Washington going OB killed us

  23. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s the difference between Tua and Herbert

  24. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    predictable

  25. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I won’t blame Tua for this loss if we lose

  26. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

this is one of the worst fucking Dolphins teams I’ve ever watched

  27. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

How lame is that shit ‘they say we do?’

  28. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    that is so Miami Dolphins

  29. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

this would have likely been our fest game. The other two I went to ended on a score by our opponent on the last play of the game. This one will be the same

  30. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

first playPhillips doesn’t get the sack or knock the ball out of herbert’s hands.Second, play doesn’t get the sack long gain, ball game

  31. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

when you suck you find ways to lose

  32. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

I think Wheeler has developed a variant of the ‘Steel curtain’ D here.

In years to come they’ll be talking about our ‘wet tissue’ in much the same way I have no doubt

  33. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

We weren’t going to win, but how do you get picked off there?

  34. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

how do you throw an interception there?

  35. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

    Wow

  36. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    that was perfect

  37. New Age's avatar New Age says:

This is so typical as Piggy said. Our kicker can’t even kick the ball 70 yards so of course the ST unit allows a huge gain. Then our wet paper defense folds in two plays to allow an easy win from what had been an extremely difficult place to start from. 46 seconds to drive the field. Unfortunately, very easily done in just 12 seconds.

  38. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Maybe both my football coaches get fired on the same day?

  39. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

just go up the page and read my post earlier

any other team, any other quarterback, any other head coach the Miami Dolphins win that fucking game

they are doing a fantastic job of hiding the fact that they are tanking

  40. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

the bad news is the Jets lost today

this is a horrible world I live in where I say that openly

  41. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Ultimately, Tua makes the decision as to where to throw. LA is playing prevent, defenders are everywhere, open spaces everywhere. Almost unfathomable that you throw an interception under those circumstances

  42. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

so if we split with the Jets and each go one and 16 who gets the first pick?
    asking for a friend

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

probably a coin toss, but we likely have a higher opp winning %, if that comes into play

Who cares, QBs coming out aren’t worthy of top pick

  43. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Jets are hands down the worst team in football. Less than 100 yards of total offense today. Fields had -10 yards passing. Who is the second best QB in this draft?

  44. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

so, has the team won you guys over to my side yet?

Come on kids get on my wagon

is everybody aboard yet? i’m saying a seat for you, Tim

  45. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

This team is very hard to watch

  46. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

it is historically hysterically dolphins like that our first two pics in this year’s draft are the worst rated players at their positions

  47. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

on how can Tua throw that into

its been his tunnel vision problem all year

  48. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

a real FL football team about ready to start

  49. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

From Miami miracle to Miami debacle in 7 shorts years.

  50. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Well, got see a close game with a lot of action, fans booing, and a loss. Thank goodness they didn’t ruin it with a win 😂

  51. boulderfinfan's avatar boulderfinfan says:

damn we had that game won. I think as long as Ross is the owner we’re not gonna win shit.

  52. boulderfinfan's avatar boulderfinfan says:

I really don’t understand why MM was trying to milk the clock on that last drive. With the new rule you really don’t need a lot of time to score a field goal. They should’ve scored quicker.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

They did almost everything right, with the exception if Malik Washington getting tackled out of bounds. That stopped the clock and ruined the plan the plan was to leave no more than a couple of seconds for LA

  53. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Lucy had ya’ll thinking she wasn’t going to pull the football away again.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I don’t think there is anyone on this site that didn’t think that was a possibility with 40 seconds left on the clock.

  54. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I hope they are fielding offers for Phillips and Chubb. Maybe Minkah too.

  55. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

this game is a perfect example of how bad this team is. We are begging and pleading for Tua to come up with a game winning drive and he finally does. Then with 40 seconds left or a special Thombs, which is actually been much better this season, gives up a kick return past the 40 yard line, and our defense wilts with Phillip’s missing on the sack and the secondary imploding on that play. Blow this shit up already. Get rid of MM, CG, and Get rid of what contracts we can without sacrificing the future
