I can’t explain properly the happiness and optimism I finally feel as a fan of the Miami Dolphins. Despite the fact that we’ve yet to complete the process of hiring a new GM, we are IN the process, and I’d be happy with 3 of the 4 GM candidates that remain. One of them is GB Vice President of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan. Second, and in no particular order is LA Chargers Assistant General Manager Chad Alexander, who most notably has ties to Free Agent HC John Harbaugh with Baltimore. Finally, there is Josh Williams who is SF 49ers Director of Scouting and Football Operations Josh Williams. The remaining candidate that I’d rather not see win the job is current Interim GM of the Miami Dolphins Champ Kelly. From all reports he’s a great guy and well liked, but I’d like someone with a more successful resume from a better organization and not someone who struggled with previously at two other stops with the Chicago Bears and LV Raiders.
So, let’s recap all of the things that give me hope, shall we? The first move that I had been just aching for was sitting then starting QB Tua Tagovailoa on the bench, or handing him a clip board, whichever one makes you happier. In the NFL, there is no room for selfish, and when you have a QB who puts his well being over the success of the team, you end up with what we had, and unsuccessful team with a QB that leads the way to that. I can empathize with Tua at wanting to play the game he loves, but where he loses me is he chooses to suit up on his terms, and I can’t, and really no team should accept those terms. We’ve seen it so many times, running backwards and losing big chunks of yardage and not even throwing the ball away. Scrambling for a first down while sliding to protect himself and sliding a yard or two SHORT of the first down. Seeing pressure come from the defense and curling up in the fetal position and taking a sack. No one can convince me that this is winning football and his record against better teams shows that out. That doesn’t mean his career is over, and if he wants to come here next season and compete for a starting job and be willing to represent this franchise properly, and put his body on the line and put his team first and his well being second, and pull all the stops out, then I’m all for it!
Let me backtrack a bit. You can only imagine how excited I am! The first domino to fall was not Tua, but the firing of GM Chris Grier. Chris Grier has left this roster in dumpster fire state. No starting QB, no cornerbacks, no LG, or RG, and a RT (Austin Jackson) who can’t stay on the field and you’re not sure if you want him to when he is. We have 1 legit pass rusher in OLB Bradley Chubb that we really can’t afford because did I mention to you that we’re over the cap and have to shed salary? So not only are we bereft of talent, but we have no cap space or means to acquire talent. Chris Grier, probably much like Tua Tagovailoa, is supposed to a great guy, but football, particularly the NFL is a business, and if you can’t get get your business done right, you’re DONE! So far we have two of three things that I really hoped happen. Chris Grier, here since 2016 was fired.
The next domino fell much more recently, and most unexpectedly I might add. Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel who spoke of being part of the GM search just a few days ago was relieved of his Head Coach duties and fired just yesterday. We’ll probably never know thew truth, these things somehow stay buried and even if they come out they’re never confirmed by any parties involved, but the fact that Baltimore Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh was fired by the Ravens and now available, this most certainly may have hastened the thought process of giving the Dolphins a chance to acquire him, as we all know here Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross’s love for the Harbaugh brothers. Yes, we all know the embarrassing pursuit of Jim Harbaugh, after he was fired be the SF 49ers while HC Tony Sparano was still HC. BTW, Mike McDaniel is also supposed to be a very likable caring guy, but again, football is a results business, and the last 2 seasons have been dreadful for Mike. Could being outscored 130-27 in the 3rd quarter for the season, or 86-0 over the last 8 weeks be the final nail? This was year 4 for Mike, and that’s nothing other than not being able to see what might be coming, and as innovative as he’s supposed to be, just getting out coached week after week in the 2nd half to unsustainable degree.
So, the next step is to hire the right GM and in turn, let that GM hire his new Head Coach. There can be an exception to this rule if ends up being somewhat of a tandem hire, and that only applies to one of the GM candidates, that’s Chad Alexander who worked in the Baltimore Ravens organization for a long time with John Harbaugh. Getting John Harbaugh here in Miami was previous unthinkable. No NFL fan could have seen that coming that the Ravens would tire of Head Coach John Harbaugh, much like no NFL fan could have foreseen Andy Reid being let go in Philadelphia. The important thing here is to keep some perspective though. Harbaugh will be so sought after, and there are NFL teams that can offer John Harbaugh much more from organizational standpoint, team roster, more specifically having a QB in place, and also having an abundant amount of cap space available to spend. The Dolphins can offer in reality none of those things. We can offer the warm weather of Miami, no state taxes, and probably lots of $$$$ from owner Stephen Ross. Will that be enough? Time will tell, but a very crucial thing to realize is that even if we don’t get John Harbaugh, we still made all the necessary moves and will be approaching building a franchise the correct way by hiring a new GM and giving that person full autonomy and responsibility to identify the head coach they want and then to get to work immediately on fixing this cap mess, and working on the draft.
We will likely be hearing as soon as this weekends end as to who the Miami Dolphins GM will be. It will be pretty wild to see the pursuit of John Harbaugh play out, and as of this writing, all the NFL insiders insist that the Miami Dolphins have not contacted John Harbaugh. Maybe they’re actually waiting until they hire their new GM which makes sense. After that time, said GM would contact Harbaugh and gauge his interest and propose an interview. To me, while I’d love to have Harbaugh here for the simple reason he’s a plug and play Head Coach who won’t need time to find himself and what he wants to accomplish. He will come here with a very high standard of performance and an excellent .614 winning percentage. He will be respected by all, and he may be the only Head Coach in which there could be a type of Co-GM situation, where they might have equal power so to speak. This would be the exception and I’d be fine with that, but really there isn’t another Head Coach available that this type of synergy will happen. It’s so important (in my belief) that there is one person accountable for everything. For far too long, that has been the problem here in Miami, half measures of firing coaches but leaving the GM, or vice versa, leaving a Head Coach and then hiring a GM and forcing that Head Coach on the GM. None of that works, but it appears as if we finally got the structure right.
I’ll probably pump out another article when the news breaks on the GM, and at that time, we may have more clarity on whether we will be in heavy pursuit of John Harbaugh. I suppose a telltale sign fairly or unfairly would be if we hire Chad Alexander, who was recently added to the GM search. Due to his long time familiarity with John Harbaugh, it wouldn’t take a super sleuth to put everything together. So we will wait, and I have a hunch after we actually let Mike McDaniel go, it won’t be Interim GM Champ Kelly. No offense to Kelly, but I’d feel more comfortable with any of the other candidates. We’ll see what happens soon enough and I hope not to be disappointed. The Dolphins have managed to hit on everything I’ve asked for, what’s two more things, right?
OK – It appears as if the Dolphins have made their choice, and I’m pleased to say it’s former Packers VP of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan. Like I mentioned, this doesn’t mean that we won’t pursue John Harbaugh, but maybe less likely that we get him. You would think that connection would have likely helped us bring him in, but who knows? Stay tuned Dolphins fans, and rejoice, we have what seems to be a legit GM!!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Lol…thank you, Mike E! I will go read it now. The title is awesome!!!
So pumped! Like the hire, even if it might lessen the chance that we get Harbaugh. Not sure we have what it takes to get him anyway.
Agreed!!! Me too….and nice write.
I’m stoked that they went for the “best” GM they believed was out there vs. some weird tandem shit….lol.
I like the light at the end of the tunnel pic. Perfect for this article. Nice write but time for the next one. lol
Nah, it’s all good, I’ll wait to see what happens with the Head Coach search. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that we’re doing this the right way. It really gives me hope.

No, it pops up for me and I did not pay.
Just close out the request and it can be read
Yeah, I couldn’t “close out the request” It’s blocked for me too.
I am glad they seemed to hire the best of the candidates. I don’t think this rules out Harbaugh just because it wasn’t Alexander. Harbaugh’s defensive scheme should be somewhat in place that Weaver implemented.
Agree…I don’t think it rules out Harbaugh at all.
I really hope he doesn’t throw a bunch of money at Willis.
Me too, will we ever learn?
I actually feel this makes us more attractive to Harbaugh. That doesn’t mean he comes here, but I don’t see this as a negative.
bailbondmike says: January 9, 2026 at 11:02 am
I wonder if hiring this GM that signing QB Malik Willis from Green Bay becomes a big possibility.
———–
Forget about when Willis was with the Titans. His stats the last 2 years since being with Green Bay.
70-89 (78.7%) for 972 yards, 6 TD’s with 0 INT’s, 42 rush for 261 yards and 3 TD’s
I don’t see it as a negative at all. It just seemed to me that if we did hire Alexander it was because we thought that it was what Harbaugh would want. Definitely not out of the running, although once again, we don’t have a lot to offer compared to the NY Giants. Their roster is better and their cap situation much better. They laso, most importantly have an excellent young QB, and yes, I said excellent because I think he is after watching play a good amount.
Warm weather and no state taxes are a lot to offer, especially for a 63-year-old man. But regardless, I respect the decision to hire the candidate they felt was the best.
I don’t see where Willis would command a lot on money. He has proven to be a valuable #2. We will see.
Even though he was traded from the Titans to Green Bay, he is still coming off his rookie deal and GB could put a tag/tender on him.
If they tender him, I believe the tender would be a pick in the round he was drafted which would be a 3rd. I hope the Dolphins would not bite on that. Besides, after a certain amount of time (I’m not sure what that time frame is) the team has to resign the player or lift the tender.
Hiring someone from the Packer organization that deals with player assessment and acquisition cannot be a bad thing. They draft and develop very well.
Just be really carefull in hiring any of their ex-coaches. (See Joe Philbin)
Wonder if the defensive coordinator or even Lafleur, if the Packers lose and he gets fired, are in play. Don’t forget about Mike McCarthy.
Just hire the right guy for coach, regardless of connections. Easy thing to do. LOL
“Just be really carefull in hiring any of their ex-coaches. (See Joe Philbin)”
That brings back some bad memories. I pray we have more success from this Packer Choice. 🙂
BBM,
I actually think Willis is a decent QB and would have no problem with him as a long term backup. I don’t see him as a long term starter. What is he supposed to get for a deal? I assumed he’s gonna want to sign somewhere he can start and make money. If he can be signed for a very reasonable contract, I’m good.
It’ll be interesting to see how JES handles his early days. Does he jump the gun and start making deals because he’s in charge now? Is he anxious to look good? Or, does he show patience and an understanding of this team’s current situation and make choices for the long term and not immediate fluffing. Lol
I really hope he’s not being pressured to win now.
The biggest challenge I am waiting to see him tackle is the Tua situation.
I would not hate bringing in Chris Shula
I would
bookman,
I assume you’ve heard a lot of talk about Lefleur up in this neck of the woods. It’s kinda crazy that the Pack would consider moving on from him.
I spent 47 years of my life in Milwaukee, WI.
I don’t miss it. 🙂
What is it that people don’t like about Mike McCarthy? He has had a lot of winning seasons and playoff success.
I would have no problem with him being Miami’s next HC
markey
To each their own. I have several friends who went to Marquette, and they loved Milwaukee. But hey…I’ve spent over 60 years in Iowa and Minnesota, and I wouldn’t say I love it here anymore. I could live without snow for the rest of my life. I can always go find it if I need it. Lol
I had contracts with Marquette when I was there. Milwaukee is a very nice city that I would still be in if it were further south! 🙂
Unfortunately, moving to Miami around 10 years ago, I love the weather but hate the fact that I feel like I live in Mexico, as it is over 60% spanish speaking territory.
I could see getting Willis to compete with Ewers, a rookie and that Cam Miller guy. I can see Willis not getting anything big but maybe an incentive heavy contract where that money will be pushed to 2027 where we have plenty of cap space.
Based on what I saw on paper, Sullivan was my second choice. I thought Alexander had more of a pedigree and wasn’t really concerned with whether we got Harbaugh because of it.
The real test of the GM will be more on how they build the roster and not so much on who they hire at HC. You can quickly replace a HC if they don’t work out and they don’t count towards the salary cap. Mess up the roster, limit our draft capital and salary cap, and you’ve got something that takes years to recover from.
It’s important to get the HC coach too, but the ramifications of getting it wrong is less severe.
McCarthey’s record is nearly identical to Harbaugh ‘s
Nope. No fat HCs. It shows a lack of discipline and slovenliness….cant have it!!!
lol
Ah, you are worried what affect a fat HC would have on Kenneth Grant. I understand. lol
No complaints here on our new GM.
I would not have a problem starting 2026 mini camps/OTA’s with Malik Willis, Quinn Ewers, Cam Miller and one of Sawyer Robertson, Carson Beck, Trinidad Chambliss or Haynes King competing for the starting QB job.
Then draft another QB in 2027 if need be.
BBM has the QB fever, and it’s only January! Lol
Actually, I have OL fever. I want to have the QB situation somewhat addressed going into the draft so we can fix the OL. Hopefully with my Randy Redo Mock Draft from the other day. lol
If the Pack lose and LaFleur becomes available, he’d have to go near the top of the HC search list
Any thoughts on Chris Shula?
He’s light in the resume much like McDaniel was. I’d like to see someone with at least 3 years as a top Coordinator and he’s only gotten 1.
Hey, I want to hear a little bit from each of you how you feel about where the Dolphins are right now having cleaned house and hired what appears to be a very qualified GM. Let it rip!
Waiting to see who he hires as our next HC to give my answer…..
C’mon Markey, stop being so measured. Just let a little raw emotion out! 🙂
SB – I’m a little sentimental with the Shula name, and just because other 1st time HC’s didn’t work, there are examples of those that have, such as the guy he works for, Sean McVay. I think he learned a lot working with him.
Most importantly, I want to see if Sonny will change his name to Son of a son of a son of a Shula. lol
Coaching choices are way too slim of pickings these days. The league’s been so watered down from coaching to players that finding a winner is going to be tough. I don’t envy this GM.
BBM,
I think one of your original guys, Fano, might be a real possibility for us.
I have no clue who we may lean toward but I would take Fano. I have seen many fans wanting Mauigoa. I don’t like that idea. He’s not athletic enough. He’s just a big butt in college and it works there.
Unless the idea was to move him into OG.
markey
Hell, the area I grew up in Iowa is 50% Hispanic. You don’t have to go all the way to Florida.
It’s currently 80°F. I am not going anywhere north until maybe June. LOL
Mike E.
I don’t know enough about our new GM to really give an honest assesment so I am measured because of it. I love where he comes from because the Packers are one of the best-run franchises in the league, because they don’t have a team owner, and to me, that is better than the rest of the NFL, which has a single owner.
I am hoping for the best so we can all start to agree more often….. 🙂
I hear ya brother! It was more of the entire process, firing Grier, McDaniel and sitting Tua, all of it. I hope so too, it’s a lot easier to agree when the team is doing well and we’re winning. The disagreements don’t seem as important when that’s the case!
So true!
BBM,
I think they move Mauigoa to guard. Still, no need to take him there. Lots of better options at #11.
100%
Emmitt Smith is from here in Pensacola. There’s a dude booked in the jail this morning who was on bond with us for simple assault. He’s now in there for attempted homicide among other charges. The victim, who is fine, is Emmitt Smith’s niece.
I was going to go off his bond, but the judge revoked it anyway.
MikeE,
I think any time you hire a new GM and HC you’re in reboot mode and should go back to square one. Treat this team as if it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up…because it does. I don’t need to see moves made for 2026. I’m fine with this organization taking the slow and steady approach. Build an organization like the Packers or Ravens. Build a solid foundation that will provide the stability to develop teams capable of competing for championships.
I want a championship, but even more I want a team and organization that is able to compete for championships on a regular basis. We rarely see a team come out of nowhere to win. What we see are the same 8 organizations constantly in the mix. The more shots you get…the better your chance of winning.
With you a 1000% on that! Glad we’re at that starting point now instead of half-assing it like we have for 25 years!
Randy, I agree with you! I have been waiting 25 years to win a playoff game. I can wait 26 if the ultimate outcome is sustained success!
markey,
It’s actually a beautiful sunny 28 degree day here! I always tell people: it’s a dry cold. Lol
To set the record straight, I am not being a homer on Malik Willis. There are things I don’t like about his passing game. He doesn’t have much, if any, touch on his throws and he is not that accurate despite his completion % while at GB. He has also gotten lucky on some floaters where is receivers had to go get it. We don’t have “go get it” WR’s on the roster and fear he won’t be that lucky in Miami.
His mobility and running gives a whole new dimension to the offense though.
Mike, you should have waited an hour before posting this. Now you have to write a new one as the new broke on the last blog. LOL
I didn’t know it was going to happen today, and it really doesn’t change much. The excitement of the process still has me elated. Hiring the GM is the next step, now we have to find our HC
LOL Just Busting Balls, I posted before I read your last paragraph. (Besides the news was posted on this board before this post. ) 😜
BBM,
It’s okay. Willis is just 1 of the 28639 guys you talk about! It’s all good. Lol
LOL!

Randy
Yeah there is talk of him being on the hot seat. I know fans that want Lefleur AND Love gone. Everytime I would say to them: “OK, we will trade you straight up, MM and Tua for Lefleur and Love, they just get a blank look on their face. Much of the Packer fan base is spoiled.
Mike, I don’t know enough about JES to “sound off” but as you can see from my Avi, I am happy that the organization if finally doing the rebuild the “right way” in my long held opinion. This firing the GM but keeping the coach or visa versa never made sense to me. (Especially because I have for a long time thought it was a scouting / GM problem. No one else seemed to care that our failed scouting department was the same through 3-4 general managers!!)
I have to wait to see what kind of moves JES makes with coaching and Tua before I get much more excited.
It’s a good start so far IMO.
Now:
Get rid of Tyreek hill. Get rid of Tua and CLEAN UP THE CAP HELL (even if it isn’t “hell” after next season, we still have years of “void years” to pay off.
GO MIAMI DOLPHINS!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!! (not to excited though…)
WELCOME TO MIAMI, CPT. SULLY!!!
Mike E,
I LIKE the hire of Sullivan! Anybody from the Packers, Ravens, or Stealers* FO is a solid hire, IMO. They are all of solid cultures and incredible scouting.
Yes, I do believe John Harbaugh is still in the mix, despite not selecting Alexander as our GM.
And yes (BBM), I do believe Malik Willis becomes a potential target for us in FA… and I don’t believe he’ll cost us the moon.
We’ll have to see who our new HC is and his OC. We might end up running a completely different Offense than what Willis is used to.
This is my type of GM! Build through the Draft, supplement through FA
Video embedded in the link: https://x.com/TheListFinsPod/status/2008222578998210917
….”the draft is your lifeblood…” Fucking, right on.
I love hearing from you guys! I’m just getting happier and happier!
So many different ways to go about this, and many of them make sense, depending upon your perspective. I do think we have to give the new GM a fair shake and if they make a hire we don’t all agree with, we can’t lose our minds and shit all over it. We did the right thing, left this in the hands of someone who appears to be qualified and capable, and it will be fun to watch things shake out.
Rocko – Why hate Shula? Because he’s unproven, or because of the name?
Hate is too strong a word. Dislike the idea because I think it has to much to do with name recognition and not enough to do with experience / skill.
I also didn’t like Don Shula. on a personal basis. (I did work for Shula Steak House) and thought he wasted most of Marino’s years failing to put a team around him.
(He was good in the 70’s, not so much in the 80’s)

Anyone here think Tua comes in here with a great attitude, comes in to camp in great physical shape willing to compete for a starting job and with the attitude that he will do whatever it takes to win?
I don’t, I think he’s a lazy, smug, comfortable fuck right now, but I’d be willing to see him compete if he did come in like that.
You (and I think most others) know that I absolutely LUV Tua! But, NO… he’s damaged goods, Brother. One more concussion and its curtains. His hip is toast.
Maybe he can become a serviceable backup who plays sparingly, but his days of glory are over, IMO.
I also don’t buy AT ALL that his hip held him back this season.
I disagree with MF13 here. I think his issues are between the ears, but NOT because of concussions. He got paid. He is lazy now.
My feeling as well. His own words and actions said as much, IMO.
I totally agree “Tua Got Paid and turned lazy”
Tua isn’t the same guy. His velocity is down and he doesn’t seem to get the ball out as quickly as he did in the past. I don’t know why but that’s how he looked to me this year.
@flasportsbuzz
FYI: Sullivan goes by JE or Sully: “I don’t like introducing myself as Jon-Eric because I see people tilt their head: Is this your first and middle name? Is this your whole first or last name?”
Hey, as long as his name isn’t Jon-Eric-Thomas Sullivan . . .
Shiiiiiiiit!!! I kept trying to figure out what you meant! LOL 😆
JETS! Damn near went over my head! 😆
I was waiting (quite impatiently) for a response! LOL
Well JE or Sully, which is it?? Is it your first and middle name? or some kind of silly hyphenated name?
It’s okay. Willis is just 1 of the 28639 guys you talk about! It’s all good. Lol
———-
Give me about an hour and I will have that up to 30k. lol
M – Your 2:12 response reminded me of the actor Isiah Whitlock from “The Wire”.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit. He was a very likable character and good actor, he passed away just a week or so ago
YUP! That’s what I was going for!
RIP, Isiah Whitlock.
M13,
Gee, thanks. Now I can never honestly say I’ve never watched video of another man talking fondly about girth.
LMAO!!!
Rock – I think it’s both, but mostly I agree that his attitude, and his play suck! If he comes in fat and lazy I wouldn’t let him touch another football and I’d probably keep him around just to show people how not to do it and make an example of him. Make him the emergency 3rd QB every week.
Now Marco Rubio can rest easy not worrying about being named GM for the Miami Dolphins. Phew!
Rubio actually tweeted about it yesterday, if ya didn’t know! That was hilarious!
@marcorubio
I do not normally respond to online rumors but feel the need to do so at this moment I will not be a candidate for the currently vacant HC and GM positions with the Miami Dolphins. While you never know what the future may bring right now my focus must remain on global events and also the precious archives of the United States of America. Thank you
I did know, that’s why I’m saying it. lol
Got ya! LOL

————
You may be COMPLETELY correct, man. I’m just going off the game-tape where he’s not using his hip to put anything into his throws: he’s ‘all-arming’ it. No velocity, no deep balls, and just dink-and-dunkin’ it all day… for the entire season.
I just said similar things above.
Get rid of Tyreek hill. Get rid of Tua and CLEAN UP THE CAP HELL (even if it isn’t “hell” after next season, we still have years of “void years” to pay off.
——–
True, but all that void year money accelerates to the year you cut them. Like when we cut Tyreek, his 12.3m owed over 3yrs of void years will accelerate and all come out of the 2026 cap. The only way it doesn’t is if we designate him a post 6/1 cut then that 12.3m will come out of the 2027 cap.
Option 1 (pre 6/1 cut) = no dead cap on void years and still clears 23.6m in 2026 cap
Option 2 (post 6/1 cut) = 12.3m dead cap in void year 2027, zero dead cap on void years 28′ & 29′ and clears 36m in 2026 cap.
I was alluding to the other 20 some-odd contracts that he did with void years, but as you stated, many if not most of them have been or will be accelerated into 26′ or 27 because the guys he did it with were failures too.
I knew where you were coming from and you are right. We will have plenty of those in Zach Wilson starting this year, then Austin Jackson next year, etc.
Tim – I agree, but there were times it seemed as if he wasn’t even trying. It was very strange to me.
Yeah that’s what I meant by he’s not the same guy. 🤷🏻♂️
good title Mike

Mmmmmmm roasted crubeens
BBM prospect #28,640. 🙂
I like him at pick #111. South Carolina Safety Jalon Kilgore, 6’1, 211. In 3 seasons starting at South Carolina he had 178 total tackles, 8 INT’s, 21 PD’s and 1 FF. He’s graded from a 2nd to an early 5th between 8 draft sites. Might want to mute.
Kilgore is a nice option if we don’t take one in rounds 1 or 2.
if we draft a guy named Kilgore, you can expect nothing but Apocolypse now references from me

Would be nice if he did , but I don’t see it .. I think his true colours showed through when things went south this year ..
Thanks Toba, I used to think Tua was a good guy, now I think he’s a selfish prick
^
How do you guys feel about Mike McCarthy being our HC? There is the tie to JES there. He was a winning coach 174 – 112 (11-11 in playoffs) but that also means he went to TWENTY TWO playoff games…
He breaks my over 60 rule too though.
And not related, WHAT THE FUCK is up with having to put in a authentication code to post? It’s made me do it 4 times in the last two days!
I mentioned McCarthy as well. His record us just about a mirror image of Harbaugh’s. No problem with that
I would be a little disappointed given other possibilities
but I like hiring a veteran coach who has had success before – and he fits that mold
He has become one of my top candidates
Randy said no fat guys for HC.
I would be okay with McCarthy.
There is a connection to JES, but considering that McCarthy got fired, I wonder if JES liked the firing, or if he liked McCarthy.
We don’t know enough about the young coaches who will be first time HCs but it doesn’t mean it’s bad because plenty of first time HCs have done quite well. Just look around the league.
@MiamiDolphins
We have have signed the following four players to reserve/future contracts: -DT Keith Cooper Jr. -OL Braeden Daniels -TE Cole Turnerand -OL Carter Warren
A new GM doesn’t necessarily have to have direct ties to hire a HC. These guys know who everyone is in NFL circles. Then the GM interviews a bunch of guys and makes a decision. Let’s just hope we get it right.

Former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is scheduled to interview for the Titans head coaching job next Wednesday, per sources. There has been significant interest in McDaniel since Miami fired him Thursday with a 35-33 record and two playoff trips in four seasons.

Oh, the poor Titans! LOL
I’m not even trying to diss Capri McD, but let’s be honest: he needs to become an OC before being hired as a HC so soon.
Not our concern.
This is true.
JMO, but I think Mike McCarthy’s time has passed.
At least in terms of being a HC.
I think JES is licking his chops at this opportunity.
He’s young, gets to take a dumpster fire and build his dream team. It seems like he’s come from good stock, has leadership qualities, and has seen how a good football operation works.
This is his time.
I’m excited for him….lol
And NO Jet’s or Pat’s stink on him!
Lol
Is it odd that the still has not been any official announcement by Miami even though the “news broke” this morning?
Possibly… dunno.
Dude…don’t start that shit…lol
LOL 😛
It’s not like I have magic powers and can screw things up with my post. Damnit Rockphin! It’s all YOUR FAULT!! You typed a question on a blog..
Lol…no shit…don’t stir the pot
lmfao…you summoned mf13ss
I’ve been here all day.
….conspiracy theorist…got it..lol
Well if there’s one positive about JES is that I haven’t seen him wear a baseball cap with a full suit once.
This is true!
IT would be SOOOOOO Dolphins to find out the JES is not the GM after-all.

Welp, I can see SOMEBODY is all kinds of messed up before 5:00 PM.
Just having fun..bb’s..and I’ve only had one glass of wine if you’re counting…lol
Alrighty, then! I was going to say, we’re good, right?! I respect your opinions.
We are good…lol
I’m using the PFF mock-Draft tool, trying to trade up for Fernando Mendoza. NO… it’s not worth it (trading up for Mendoza from R1P11 to R1P1). Many of y’all would say “duh”, but it’s true! LOL
We must rebuild, first and foremost. ’27 is the year to draft a QB.
The way I see it in the 1st round, I’m taking the best OL or the best defensive player. We have enough skill players to move the football.
^
JES has his work cut out…it’s his time.
What a challenge…I love it!
Rock…you could also say he’s working on his coaching search…and has agreed in principle to the terms…
Tim,
Don’t know why, but I find myself delving back into the “Pink Panther” movies! Man, Peter Sellers was INCREDIBLE in those films! LUV IT!
This is one of my favorites!
One of my favorites.
So is the narrative Hafley isn’t ready or doesn’t have the chops or would be an AG, JP, MM, or BF?
None of whom, have been a HC at any level, except Hafley….some HCs at the college level do succeed in the NFL…
Just get the best coach out there…lol
I have to say, if JES can get through a draft without trading up, I may just fall in love . . . lol
I suspect he will know the players and their value
🤣
😍
Lol
Great write Mike E. Will be interesting to see who we end up with as coach, but have to think this means rebuild for at least a couple years. Too much money in Tua and Tyreek and others as well.
Stanger my man! Great to see you. I think we can turn it around as soon as the ’27 season. Draft well, don’t sign any pricey free agents, maybe even trade back in this draft and acquire more capital for 2027. Draft your QB, and start being competitive thst season and keep building to become a legit playoff team in 2028
Great to see you….. but aren’t you just putting the best face on a 2-year rebuild? We are in cap hell.
Like you, Mike E., I’m pretty excited about all of this!
👍
Grier was a lazy ass, entitled fuck, with nepotism….he was shit…lol
After 2 glasses of wine….lol
LOL, tell us how you really feel!
I am!!!
CLUELESS comes to mind…lol
Lol…don’t look back!
Stanger – God willing and we’re all healthy, The Fest returns in 2026! I miss all of you fuckers! Whaddaya say?
We’ll talk about it. Chef Wa seems to really not want to do it. And that is a big part of it.
There are people that wanted to help…just saying
And that might be more than welcome if Chef Wa declines. I can do the tix and night before, but no one wants me cooking food.
It’s interesting after CG’s dad died, he was fired…feelings
They were just talking about Dante Moore in pre-game and mentioned that he hasn’t decided yet about declaring. It wouldn’t surprise me if he decides to stay another year, since most think Mendoza will go #1, and you know who is picking #2. The team where QBs’ careers go to die… LOL I kid, but it’s true. They are the worst organization in football the last 10 years.
It is true.
Stanger – The Fest can be whatever we make it. It can evolve, if Chef Warren doesn’t want to do it we’ll figure something else out. No one has to be burdened, we can all help make it happen. We’ll talk, we have plenty of time to figure that out. Most of all, we just want to get together and enjoy that
Yeah we can make it happen. I figure worst case is just get a bunch of subs for the tailgate.
My crew made 40 burgers, plates, fixings that got trashed…lol
And, forgot about the sausage, peppers, and onions that were trashed…lol
Was awesome what you guys did. But Warren comes with food already ready and just puts it out all at once. You guys had cooking time.
PONDS!!!!!!!
Dante Moore….seriously…lmao
Terrible
Krishna – when you say trashed, you mean eaten right? I wasn’t 100% sure
Thrown away because it was ignored….only son and his crew participated. Facts
Great to see ya Stanger .. wishing you health and happiness this new year ….
Felix Ano Nuevo to you mi Toba.
It’s finally official! It’s now on the Miami Dolphins website
I know I’m going to regret posting this (LOL), but seriously… I don’t see ‘IT’ in Dante Moore.
Krishna – I’m confused. This was at the last Fest last year? Did we know about it? Who was your crew?
No this was about 2 years ago and would prefer to take this off the blog.
I love stangerx and it hurt.
maybe 3
Lol…2 fests last 3 years…we skipped this year
What hurt Krishna. Was it just too much food and people got full?
“I could not be more excited to welcome Jon-Eric Sullivan as our next general manager. Jon-Eric brings a clear vision for how to build and run a football team, founded upon his own experience at a winning organization,” said Dolphins Chairman and Owner Stephen M. Ross. “As we went through our search process, it became undeniable the respect Jon-Eric has across the league as a talent evaluator, leader and man of integrity. We had an extremely talented group of candidates, and Jon-Eric’s ability to stand out so clearly speaks to how impressive he is — not only for his experience, but also his depth of knowledge, his detail-oriented approach and his passion. I believe we found the best of the best in Jon-Eric, and I’m looking forward to working with him as he leads us into a new era of Dolphins football.”
“What an incredible honor it is to serve as general manager of the Miami Dolphins, an organization of history, tradition and great pride,” said Sullivan. “I want to express my gratitude to Stephen Ross and his family for this exceptional opportunity and the belief they’ve placed in me to lead this storied franchise forward. I also want to thank the entire Packers organization, especially Brian Gutekunst and the late Ted Thompson, for their leadership and allowing me to be entrenched in a process that has brought more than 30 years of sustained success to Green Bay.
“Now, as we forge ahead, we will build a football team that is resilient, physical and tough. We will compete no matter the circumstances, with the ultimate goal of competing for division championships and Super Bowls. Our team building process will be intentional, disciplined and sound. And we will do it together, with collaboration and hard work. It has always been and always will be a team sport. I can’t wait to get started.”

Krishna – sorry bud, but I’m a guy who would never say no to a burger! I’ll let this go. Sorry for whatever happened
My daughter thinks I should take her on a trip down to see her Vikes play us. Funny, she’s never asked me to take her to a Vikes game in Green Bay. Lol
what an amazing TD throw by Mendoza
he looks awesome
he looks incredible
Moore to the Jets!
Dante Moore is only 20 and needs more development. He should stay in school, because the Jest don’t know how to develop QBs. I hope people close to him give him good advice on this.
This game is about to be over. Indiana is going to be really tough to beat in the championship.
