I watched the entire introductory press conference, and all I can say is that we have two passionate men, men who understand what needs to be done and have a plan already in place to execute that plan. I can tell with you confidence that will that they will stick to that plan, a process if you will. I know some of you, OK one of you, thought Chris Grier did a great job. I think part of the problem with Chris Grier was if he had a process, part of that problem was falling in love with certain players rather than having a draft grid with a whole bunch of players that you graded equally and then slide to the next player if a specific player you had interest in was taken. It seems clear to me that Grier, if he believed that he could just slide to player with a similar grade that it would work out, he would have done that. That’s part of Grier’s process. Identify a player, and make sure you get that player. After watching Sully and Haf discuss their plan, don’t bet on that ever happening again here in Miami. Draft picks are far too valuable to squander like that, especially when you have already traded away so many picks to trade for what you thought were impact players that didn’t actually impact the team.
As far as QB is concerned, I’m not saying there’s zero chance Tua Tagovailoa ever takes another snap for the Miami Dolphins, but I’d put it at less than 5%. It seemed clear to me they will be looking for QB’s, and also willing to give Quinn Ewers a shot, but it also seemed very likely to me that we will be drafting a QB in the 2026 Draft. That doesn’t mean RD 1, but they both understand that you need a QB, and that we might not have one on the roster, including Tua Tagovailoa. They also made it clear that until they find a QB, they will continue to draft QB’s, which I believe is the correct way to approach winning.
One thing I was also impressed with was each guy’s humility, and their honesty about their journeys to where they are now. I really do believe that they interviewed each and every candidate fairly but with the knowledge that a candidate was going to have knock their socks off to surpass Jeff Hafley, not because of the familiarity, but because of the man he was familiar with. You can feel the passion and the sacrifices that Hafley made to rise up to the ranks of an NFL coordinator. Both of these gentlemen appear to be tireless workers who give their all, and to turn this program around, that will be much needed. Hafley seems like a guy who will work with players and demand and expect excellence and dedication. If he doesn’t get that dedication, I think the player will know it, and if it continues, things won’t fester like they did under McDaniels watch. He seems like a total no nonsense type of guy that will everyone, including himself accountable. That is another thing that is much needed here in Miami. These “star” players running the asylum is over, this is a team, and everyone is part of that team, no exceptions.
Another observation is that these two guys definitely have a synergy. While that’s not a necessary component, I think it will help us quickly turn things around. Sometimes it’s good to have guys with different philosophies because there’s rarely only one way to do things, but despite the hierarchy where in this the GM has final say on everything, if the ideologies are so different, you’re bound to have one or the other get seriously frustrated to the point where the relationship could break. It appears as if these guys are definitely on the same page. How Chris Grier was influenced by Stephen Ross, we’ll never know. At the very least, it looks like Sully and Haf are free to do as they please, and Stephen Ross will not only allow it, but be willing to financially back whatever they need. In my mind, that’s ALL Stephen Ross should be doing is opening the purse strings, but he needs to stay out of football operations completely. He did the right thing, hired what appears to be a very competent GM who has now hired his Head Coach, and now that Head Coach will fill out his staff, hire two coordinators, and all the assistant coaches too.
Head Coach Jeff Hafley made it clear that he will be calling plays for the defense, it’s what he loves to do, and although we will be hiring a Defensive Coordinator, it will be Hafley running the defense. I have no issue with that as long it doesn’t appear that he has too much on his plate and other areas of being a Head Coach are suffering. I do think it could potentially limit who will want to come here as DC if Hafley is calling the game. We’ll find out. More than likely we will have first time coordinators on both sides of the ball, so we’ll have to wait and see how that works. Keep in mind that Mike McDaniel was in his 4th season here and he couldn’t figure out a game plan where we were able to win the 3rd quarter nearly the entire season.
As far as the roster is concerned, we basically heard nothing on that because they are still evaluating that, so no comment was the right comment. I have a feeling we will be trimming a lot of fat around here, and guys like Tua, Chubb, Hill might not be around very long. They want young players that will buy into what they’re doing, and frankly, I loved Hafley’s answer to the questions about players late to meetings and that kind of behavior. There will have to be a mutual respect between Coach and player, he will work hard, the player will work hard, and the Coach will push the player to work hard for his team and hopefully, the players will all buy into the team concept,. Let’s face it, we have too many “me” guys, especially the white hot spotlight on the most important position on the field, as identified by Sully and Haf, the QB. Tua embodies NOTHING of a guy who gives it his all for his team, and hasn’t since he got paid. Now Hill is a different story, on game day, Hill was a beast, a dog if you will, but meeting, and the like, he never felt like that applied to him, he was special. Jeff Hafley looks like won’t be tolerating that type of nonsense, and if it continues, that player will be gone, Hafley said that himself.
So now, after all that is said and done, we get to sit back and watch these two guys and their staff build this team after thoroughly evaluating the roster to see who are keepers and who is a goners. Without directly saying it, I’d be willing to bet an awful lot that we’re drafting a QB. As I have made it clear, I’d love to draft a QB, have that QB and Quinn Ewers compete for a starting job, and potentially bring in an inexpensive veteran QB as well, and that means NOT Malik Willis. I don’t think these guys are looking to spend money at that position, especially considering how much of the cap is already invested in a QB who won’t be playing here, Tua Tagovailoa. Hopefully, Former DC Anthony Weaver gets a HC gig this year, and we have yet another 3rd RD pick, a compensatory pick, but one that can turn into a player that can help this team soon. I’m pleased with what we have done, I’m optimistic that we’ll see a difference in 2026, but have a chance to really compete in 2027. I figure 2 drafts and nice reshaping of the roster and a little more cap space to fill in. We won’t be treading picks away for players or moving up and trading picks to move up, I can almost guarantee you that practice left the building with Chris Grier. We will use free agency when we have cap space, but that doesn’t mean our best players on the roster will come via free agency, no, our best players will be drafted. They stressed that several times, and I love it! I wish Sully and Haf all the success and best of luck as they bring this franchise back to being among the perennial contenders, like it used to be when I was a kid.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

CavKong,
100% with ya. Looking at the ‘sky cam’, there was NO WAY Maye got the 1st down.
At least Denver didn’t give up a TD. That’s a testament to their pass-rush. Can’t EVER have too many pass-rushers.
lol @Kong
I’ve already a foot of snow, and it keeps on coming down.
Suck it Pets!
Denver with a great opportunity to go 3 and out again
I hate the Patsies*… SMH
I’m furious they are back to prominence after just a couple of down years. They have a coach, a QB, a defense, and what looks to be a very strong few years ahead of them- minimum.
Meanwhile we have hope that maybe, just possibly we have some guys that can turn us around from being the complete blundering idiots we’ve been for the past QUARTER FUCKING CENTURY!
^^^
Sadly, I called that QB run. Dammit.
What a tale of 2 halves with the weather. Imagine if this game was in Foxborough.
M13, At least it is all snow no not the ice mess down south.
I feel ya on that, quite seriously. Us Northerners are used to this type of thing… including ice.
Southerners are essentially helpless.
So much for ‘global warming’.
We didnt get any snow here. Just -17 for a couple days. Lol
Bro, that SUCKS!
https://x.com/schadjoe/status/2015499039484027017?s=20
But Grier did a great job!
To be fair, no one should be grading a rookie class after one season, but on that same token, if you trade up to get a player and use multiple picks, at least that player should be rated highly, and not near the bottom or in the very bottom of the ratings. That’s awful!
We’ve already measured 0 degrees this winter up here in PA. And come summertime, we’ll likely measure 100 degrees, or very close… with 100% humidity.
Not too many places on Earth have such a savage temperature range as Pennsylvania. We CONSTANTLY need to pay for energy… whether it be heat in the winter, or cool in the summer.
We’ve been about as cold as it ever gets here- mid 40’s all week. I thought to myself if it drops another 10 or 15 degrees I might have to think about wearing pants. Then I thought- other than dress slacks, I’m not sure I even own any pants.
That was me when I moved up to WI from FL. I was in trouble immediately. Lol
If I didn’t see your avi I would have thought that this post was Piggy’s. 😁
I’m at 16”, with another 9-11” forecasted in the next hours . Thank God it’s light
24 hours
that’s what she said….
If Seattle loses, #27 should be publicly flogged
meh, taunting is such a BS penalty
I agree, but it’s a known rule and that was just dumb.
I agree too, but it is the rule
we’ve been called for it for far worse
in Brazil they do worse, like they did to the own goal scorer in the world cup
he was murdered
I remember that. I wouldn’t want it to go that far, lol.
AGAIN!!! Should have taken the points via FG.
Yep. I know they are sick of having to take them, but pts are pts. I would have kicked on the first 4th down too.
I think you can make an argument that getting 2 fgs with that much time left is easier than a TD
It’s been a theme this entire playoffs.
I was outside earlier. It was pretty miserable
I thought a reception was supposed to survive hitting the ground?
And can’t coaches ask for measurements anymore?
and players in motion are still going towards the line of scrimmage. that hasn’t stopped.
yes, and the tackles still don’t line up within the belt of the center
wouldn’t that have been some shit, if Darnold had gotten hurt on that last play
A fuck you SB for the jets, Cheats against Darnold😜
I still can’t stand Brady but that Pizza Hut commercial effing cracks me up.
hilarious
So if they Seahawks get to the 1 yard line in the Super Bowl, does Kubiak hand it off or do they throw it with Darnold.
There is a lot to like about TE Eli Raridon, 6’7, 250. I think his 40 time (4.78 projected) will keep him a 3rd round pick. If he runs 4.7 or better, he may go late 2nd round.
I’ve drafted him a few times in my mocks.
I wonder when the new staff is going to start their player meetings/evaluations.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the Tua meeting…lol
I wonder if they’ve called him and whispered sweet nothings in his ear…lmao
“Tua, tell us a little about yourself”
Tua:
I never heard of him, but if he is one of the most respected WR coaches in the league as the post says, then YAY!

I am NOT content with the Slowik promotion.
Slowik by the numbers when he was OC for the Texans:
The numbers don’t lie.
In 2023, here is how Houston’s offense ranked…
Total Yards 12th
Total Points 14th
Total Offense 23rd
Rushing Offense 23rd
Passing Offense 7th
Scoring Offense 14th
Yards Per Play: 12th 5.4 yards
Touchdowns Per game: 11th 2.5 TD’s per game
Points per Game: 13th 22.7 PPG
3rd down Conversions Per Game 19th with 4.9 conversions per game
Explosive Plays: 14th (ahead of Pat Mahomes and KC, who were ranked 15th)
In 2024, here is how Houston’s offense ranked in the same categories…
Total Yards 22nd
Total Points 19th
Total Offense 19th
Rushing Offense 15th
Passing Offense 21st
Scoring Offense 19th
Yard Per Play 19th 5.2 yards
Touchdowns Per game: 21st 2.2 TD’s per game
Points Per Game: 18th 22.0 PPG
3rd down Conversions Per Game: 8th: 5.4 (first place was Tampa Baywith 6.4)
Explosive Plays: 15th
Not for nothing but numbers lie all the time. Not high on the guy myself, but numbers without context aren’t exactly great to use.
BBM’s Post Conference Championship Mock Draft (3 trades)
28. Blake Miller OT Clemson
42. Chris Johnson CB San Diego State
57. Josiah Trotter LB Missouri
62. Brandon Cisse CB South Carolina
73. Dillon Thieneman S Oregon
85. Caleb Tiernan OT Northwestern
90. Dani Dennis-Sutton EDGE Penn State
92. Malachi Lawrence EDGE UCF
104. Joe Royer TE Cincinnati
145. Sawyer Robertson QB Baylor
167. De’Zhaun Stribling WR Ole Miss
221. Aaron Graves DT Iowa
I love Thieneman
Dennis- Sutton is definitely worth a 4th rounder. He has spurts where he’s unstoppable: good coaching can bring more out of him.
or late 3rd
I agree on both Thieneman and Dennis-Sutton.
weaver is interviewing with the cardinals today
rooting for him…lol
trotters crossed
I wish PhinPhanatic had a comment section so I can tell them how stupid they are on a regular basis. I know they are just a fan blog with delusions of grandeur (have a press pass! woooo) but they say stuff without knowing the ramifications.
Brian Miller is over there saying we may have to trade Waddle in order to get to the cap if we dump Tua pre-june 1st.
Nimrod, our cap hit goes up if we trade him….NOT down.
100%, they spout off with click bait titles and post without doing any research. Years ago you could comment. I guess they removed that option. Wonder why…
I like Crabbs even though he can be long winded. Crabbs is at the Senior Bowl practices this week. I was on the edge about attending a practice or 2 this year. It’s only about 40 min away.
It’s too fucking cold!
Dennis- Sutton is definitely worth a 4th rounder. or a late 3rd.
——-
I agree. These edge seem to go above where they are ranked in the sim. Gotta get them in the 3rd. I think they both will test good and have to be taken in the 3rd.
They updated their rankings also. Dillon Thieneman dropped some. Not sure why but I would take him in a heartbeat in the early 3rd.
I have my top 3 safeties, and I wouldn’t mind getting any of them.
That’s how I rank them with Haulcy close behind Thieneman.
I agree, Haulcy would be #4 for me too.
those are my top four as well. I really want Downs, likely not going to happen
Though, there is only 1 safety I think gets drafted in the 1st, I actually like this safety class. There are guys I would take in every round.
Very true, Kilgore late 3rd or 4th would be pretty good too.
So I wonder who they are going to hire to be the puppet DC. (Have I mentioned that I HATE that Butt-head is going to be calling his own plays!?)

@Schultz_Report
Sources: #Browns QB Shedeur Sanders has been added to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement. Sanders is the first 5th-round rookie to make a Pro Bowl since Puka Nacua.
———–
Really? The Pro Bowl nominee process has become a complete joke… and it has been for several years.
WTF? Yeah, that 68.1 passer rating really shows he is a probowler…
his 7 TD against 10 Int’s really makes him a top QB…
That is just some crazy as shit, and it is BAD for the NFL.
Think of it like when Carrie was voted Prom queen.
PFF Mock Draft: moved up to get David Bailey, then doubled-down on EDGE in the 4th with Malachi Lawrence. In this scenario, we’ve re-signed Rasul Douglas, Jack Jones, and Darth Kader at CB.
Your Team’s Picks
Miami Dolphins
Rd1Pick6
David Bailey, ED, Texas Tech
Rd2Pick43
Elijah Sarratt, WR, Indiana
Rd3Pick87
Brian Parker II, T, Duke
Rd3Pick90
Isaiah World,T, Oregon
Rd4Pick111
Malachi Lawrence, ED, UCF
This is by no means a FINAL mock for me, LOL! I can do way better, and I highly doubt we’ll trade up for David Bailey.
David Bailey just might be my biggest ‘man-crush’ of this decade. IMO? Absolute GAME-CHANGER.
I think Tyler Warren is mine. Caleb Downs is a close second.
I’m a little concerned that we now have a new HC and GM, and they may be inclined to make big splashes for short term success at the expense of long term stability.
This is not the time to make big moves and try to win right away. This is a time to build correctly not sacrifice picks to win in the short term. Don’t trade away picks. Don’t sign big FAs.
Don’t think we have to worry about signing big FAs with our cap situation. And I also don’t think we’re going to be trading draft picks, either… unless it’s to garner MORE draft picks… perhaps even for an early pick in ’27.
I HOPE Rasul Douglas won’t price us out on him as a FA.
M13 = Chris Grier – You’ve identified the player you want and you’re going to do damn near anything to get him, eh? LOL
MY PRECIOUS!!! LOL 😉
Again, I highly doubt we’ll be trading up. It makes more sense to just keep what we have and pick away.
*Gollum! Gollum!* 😀
Mike E,
How much snow did ya get over there? We got about 15″ when it was all said and done.
I think we got about 8″. We got about 3 inches of snow, my son and I shoveled that, then I think we got about 5 inches of ice mix. That was a bitch to shovel, it took me about 3 hours to clear the driveway and the walkway
It sucks, regardless. Happy to hear you didn’t get the worst of the storm, and neither did I.
Daniel Jeremiah put out his first 1st round mock. He has S Caleb Downs falling to us. I will take that.
He has 3 safeties going 1st round. It could happen but not sure. He has one crazy take tough, Edge Mesidor going #17 overall and ahead of Keldric Faulk who he has going at #20 to the Cowboys.
Yup, I saw that earlier this morning. I’ll take Caleb Downs @ R1P11 too!
I’m not sold on Keldric Faulk.

Tyler Warren is certainly a BEAST(!), and you and I knew that already. That’s a well-founded ‘man-crush’, Brother.
Heard a couple of days ago that my guy Keagen Trost, RT, Misery (Missouri) withdrew from the Shrine Bowl (and its practices). Can’t find any data as to why.
@PFSNcollege
The highest-graded FBS offensive lineman in 2025: Keagen Trost, Missouri – 99.9 PFSN College OL Impact grade The Wake Forest transfer in his only season w/ the Tigers, per TruMedia:
1 sack allowed
7 pressures allowed
2 QB hits allowed
1.7% pressure rate allowed on true dropbacks
Seems all the mock draft simulators are sleeping on this guy: he’s a STUD, and he’s an SEC RT.
I don’t like taking a TE so early in our rebuild, but I like this mock draft by Ryder…
After seeing the Ducks several times this season, I’m REALLY high on S Dillon Thieneman.
I love Thieneman. When we miss out on Downs, I hope we can scoop him up. I don’t think he’ll be there at 75 though .
I’m not seeing it from Faulk. I’d take Mesidor over him every time. Faulk is all potential…and I don’t even think his potential is all that great.
I actually am not a big fan of any edge rusher this year.
How about taking Ioane at #11?. Guard anybody? Lol
he’s a stud. I would love to see us trade down 3-5 spots and grab him there. Get a second rounder or a third
I agree with both of you. He’s a beast. He could very well be BPA by the time you get to #13 or #14.
I don’t think we trade away any picks. If you look at Packers draft history, they covet draft picks, collect and keep them, don’t trade them away. Only last year they seem to have broken their golden rule by trading picks for Parsons. They traded their 1st this year and next year but still have 8 picks this year.
Each team gets 7 picks, 1 for each round. Packers have had (year-picks): 2025-8, 2024-11, 2023-13, 2022-11, 2021-9, 2020-9, 2019-8, 2018-11, 2017-10.
2016 was the last time they just had their 7 picks and 2004 was the last time they had less than their 7 but still had 6 picks.
The last 10 years, the Packers have had a total of 96 draft picks. That is 26 more picks than the Dolphins had over that same 10 year time frame which also coincides with Grier’s tenure as GM.
EXACTLY. I don’t see us trading up AT ALL. Maybe a trade down, but certainly not up.
Here’s a local guy for me you guys might want to check out. He’s a WR, so I don’t pay him much attention. But, I know people who think he’s gonna be a productive pro. Bryce Lance from NDSU.
Yeah, he’s been on the radar. Just waiting to see his #’s at the combine or pro day. Draftbuzz projects him to run a 4.6. I have watched him, his play speed seems faster than that. This draft seems to be full of big slower guys. Speed isn’t everything though. I think he is closer to a 4.5 guy than a 4.6 guy.
Sign his free agent brother Trey Lance to compete at QB, then draft him at #111.
Not sure which direction the Cardinals will go. They are meeting with Weaver today on a second visit, but they are also meeting with Rams OC Mike LaFleur on a second visit today as well.
Seems like they are close to selecting but may be waiting on the Seahawks OC.
Browns just seem SOL.
BBM,
Really? Dammit. Here I thought I was putting a name out there that nobody would know. I should’ve known better. Lol
LOL, there are many out there I don’t know anything about or just haven’t checked out. I do have other things to do. At least, that is what my wife says. LOL
There is only one college team I hate in football, and that’s Ohio State. That should tell you just how much I like Downs and Styles as prospects. LOL. Yes, Caleb Downs and Sonny Styles are my top two overall prospects in this draft, period!!! I don’t care if they aren’t “premium positions.”
You know what, that’s probably why safety, DT, and TE are my favorite positions, because I hate when people say, “Premium positions are the only ones you should take in the first round.” If I’m being honest, the one position I HATE the most taking in the first round is WR. Everything that the NFL does caters to the QB and WRs, so I feel the better value round for WR is the second round. In my opinion, you don’t need elite WRs to win Super Bowls. You just don’t.
Trady pants pulled a Belicheat and traded right out of the first round.

Is the NFL rigged or is this a coincidence? This was posted by the NFL on 9/4/25. Notice the 2 players representing their teams, #14 and #10 all the way in front and appear to be closest to the Lombardi Trophy?
Drake Maye seems to be positioned the closest even. Place your bets on the Pats now! LOL
https://x.com/NFL/status/1963572844048290150/photo/1
Speed definitely isn’t everything. Puka Nacua anyone???
100%, if they are good route runners. There are tons of speed guys who never make it because they never become good route runners. They are 1 trick pony’s.
With that, I would say stay away from the fastest WR’s in this draft. I’m not sure I have seen one who runs a sub 4.4 and is a good route runner. Though I have not looked at them all.
Notice how Tua is right in the middle? He’s been right in the middle of all our problems since he’s been here
Isn’t that an odd coincidence though. This pic.
Yeah, that is concerning. I’d hate to think that everything is fixed. Sometimes things definitely seem that way
Rock, what has you so high on center Connor Lew? I have not looked at him, just asking. He’s about the same size as our backup Andrew Meyer so I don’t think he could play OG.
That was me forcing an OL at that position LOL
I’ve mocked him a couple times now basically because he was the best rated OL left on the board. (using the consensus board)
You know I only pay attention to college football at draft season. LOL
Philip Rivers is withdrawing from Buffalo’s head coaching search, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported.
Jaguars OC Grant Udinski is withdrawing from the Browns’ head coaching search, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported.

Good lord, I think it is getting to the point that one of us could get the job. No one wants it. lol
Chargers and DT Teair Tart agreed to terms on a three-year extension worth up to $37.5 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

And he couldn’t make our roster. SMH
Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith interviewed for Philadelphia’s vacant OC job
The Browns are going all in on Sanders and knowledgeable coaches know he sucks. Why take that job?
I guess it’s not that people don’t want the Browns HC position. It’s just that they do not want to go through their crazy BS requirements.
Not sure if it is true but the Brown’s are requiring candidates to wear a suit and do crazy homework for both the initial interview and the second one. Also, a personality test and writing an essay.
Another Packer coach coming in. They are raiding GB.
Get ready, they might be bringing you in next!
It looks like we’re just waiting on Anthony Weaver. We probably have our guy already at DC but don’t want to lose those picks just in case.
^
Agreed.
I think(?) I’m taking Utah RT Spencer Fano off the board for our R1P11 selection. Why? I don’t like his size for a RT (6’6″, 308), his worst games came against ‘stronger teams’ (they were actually WEAK teams in the larger scheme of things: weak opponents), and I believe he’s being over-hyped.
He doesn’t suck, but he’s not worthy of R1P11, IMO… not even close.
Probably best to address the O-Line AFTER the 1st round, IMO.
One of the things I think is important with hiring Bobby Slowick as OC is he knows the players and the language doesn’t change so we can hit the ground running as they say.
I kinda expect the defense to keep us afloat in 2026
the defense and Achane …
I do think Ewers can be a good QB.
that draft above with Styles and Thieneman is really interesting
I tend to think Minkah will be here in 2026. And we all know about Jordan Brooks. I think that foursome, the vets and rooks, can make us a strong defense right away
I don’t expect us to be very good this season. I’m hoping we do the right thing and just go with Ewers and a draftee at QB and whoever wins the QB competition starts. I don’t want to overspend for Malik Willis, and I’m not even sure he’s really much better than Ewers anyway
Mike E

Sources saying GBs LB coach also going to be coming down south too. Hes taking the entire defensive staff! Lol
SBJ – Will someone please make Weaver a HC so Miami can move on!
Unfortunately, NFL teams realize that if they hire Weaver they have to send those picks to Miami, so they can play the waiting game too. I’m getting the feeling we won’t be seeing those picks. If he is going to get hired, it will be a week after Miami hires a DC
I thought they were comp pick
it doesn’t cost the hiring teams anything
I don’t think they care
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-compensatory-picks-for-minority-coaches-and-executives-explained
it’s looking to me like Anthony Weaver will not get hired as a HC anywhere this offseason
It’s the Dolphins. Did you really expect anything else? lol
Piggy – They are compensatory picks, I guess you’re right. I was thinking they had to come from the team that hires the Coach, but you’re right, they’re just additional picks created by the NFL for these situations
I think our best shot now is Arizona
yesterday people were reporting they narrowed their candidates down to 3 and weaver was not one of those 3
but he ended up doing a 2nd in person interview either yesterday or today
Approximately 29 to 36 Miam players are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents (UFAs) in 2026.
That is 54 to 68% of the roster. We are currently over the cap by approx. $30M and we need to fill out 68% of the roster!
Tell me again how great a job Grief did!
I only want to keep about 2-3 of them….lol
I guess that makes Grier look like he did an even worse job
for me this highlights the timing of the decision to fire MM
new coach, new GM, probably a new QB and probably 20- 40 new faces on the roster
The Indian bones under Joe Robbie Stadium will see to it that the curse continues. OF COURSE we will not get the comp picks for Weaver. He will go to the Giant for a season and THEN get his shot at HC so the Dolphins get NOTHING and the NY team get’s the two comp picks….
you have to think a 2nd in person interview is beyond what the Rooney rule requires
so AZ seems serious about hiring Weaver
but there are other candidates who are also doing a 2nd interview
hopefully Weaver makes a great impression
I would volunteer to shine his shoes for him if I could
It depends on if the first interview was a zoom call or teams meeting. In order to count for the RR it must be an IN PERSON interview.
The Dolphins had their RR interviews the same day as they hired Butt-head.
I don’t want to overspend for Malik Willis, and I’m not even sure he’s really much better than Ewers anyway
———-
I watched Willis and he doesn’t have that great of an arm. I prefer signing maybe Trey Lance and draft a rookie to compete with Ewers.
Lance is coming off a 1yr 2m deal with the Chargers. Could be had for about the same.
Yeah, but he’s not even worth a half a block of cheese
Yeah, with our budget, we are stuck with government cheese anyway.
I wish Anthony Weaver would have put me down for a reference.
No doubt
Piggy, I like Taurean York’s game but he is small at 5’10, 225 and doesn’t have the frame to get bigger. I don’t see him high on the Dolphins draft board. They like big and fast.
I think top’s on their list for ILB will be Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles, Anthony Hill Jr, Josiah Trotter, CJ Allen and then Jake Golday.
Those are all guys I see going by the end of day 2. One more ILB they could be interested in at the end of the 3rd round is Jaishawn Barham.
This is actually a decent ILB draft when you look at it. Because the Day 3 group has some good prospects also in York, Lander Barton, Kyle Louis, Red Murdock, Aiden Fisher, Bryce Boettcher and more.
There is one more guy I can’t think of his name. He’s a big fast ILB who, like Sonny Styles, moved from Safety to ILB. Dammit, I can’t think of his name.
Kendal Daniels from Oklahoma is his name. He’s 6’5, 242, started at safety for 3 years at Oklahoma State then transferred to Oklahoma and moved to ILB. He’s still learning the position but could end up a draft steal on day 3.
I think Chris Johnson is a fav of many with our 2nd round pick.
So the Bills promoted their OC Joe Brady to be their HC.
Cards, Browns and Raiders are the only ones left.
I think Raiders are all in on Klint Kubiak.
Still hope for Weaver to go to Cards or Browns.
Though, Rams OC Mike LaFleur seems to be the front runner for the Cards HC job.
Duke and QB Darian Mensah came to a settlement agreement. Mensah will now be the next Miami Hurricane QB for 2026.
Damn, he’s shorter than me.
With the NFL combine just around the corner and the draft just a few months away, QB Diego Pavia is hoping to make a strong case to land on a team this spring.
Ahead of the Senior Bowl, the Vanderbilt quarterback’s measurements were revealed. He came in at 5’9 7/8″ and 198 pounds.
Yeah, good luck with that Diego. LOL
I found a BALLHAWK zone CB for us on day 3: Hezekiah Masses. 6’1″, 185, 5 INTs, 13 PBUs. He reads the QB’s eyes like nobody else in this class.
Unfortunately, he also gave up 4 TDs last season. That could be attributed to his tendency to jump routes and probably biting on double-moves. He’ll need to be taught some discipline at the pro level, but he’s got ball skills.
LOL, I just did another mock draft that I didn’t post. I was looking for a specific players name that I couldn’t remember, ILB Kendal Daniels.
I took Masses in the 3rd round of that mock. I don’t think he lasts to the 4th.
Yes, I think he goes 3rd round as well, with a very slight possibility he slides to the 4th.
Pigster and Herd,
I see there’s a senior CB for Marshall named BOOGIE TROTTER. He had 5 INTs last season, but his 5’9″, 170 pound frame isn’t going to bode well for him at the NFL level.
Luv the name, though! 😀
He will now be in every mock draft by Piggy. lol
YUP! LOL 😆
Another RT to keep an eye on, especially early day 3 is Notre Dame RT Aamil Wagner. Hearing he was the best OT all week at the Shrine Bowl practices. He measured in at a chiseled 6’5, 302 with the frame to add 10 pounds easy, good arm length also.
He is one who would need to be developed though. Not starter material right now.
Keep an eye on SE Louisiana DE/Edge Kaleb Proctor, 6’1, 275. He was one of the best edge players at the Shine Bowl practices. If he scores well at the combine, he could be a day 3 option for us.
My first look at Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo. Man, this kid is freakish! So much to like about him in both pass and run-Defense. I also see Ryder did a video on him already, I must have missed it. I’ll check it out…
Here’s Ryder’s take on EMW, in case ya missed it like I had. Yes, he’s going to kill the Combine. This guy is an athletic FREAK. He just leap-frogged over Dillon Thieneman in my book… and I REALLY like Thieneman.
As Ryder alluded to, EMW could be a TE killer.
Now I have to get my hands on his game tape.
My no trade BPA draft (sorta)
11. Sonny Styles LB Ohio State
43. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren S Toledo
75. Max Iheanachor OT Arizona State
87. Brian Parker II OG Duke
90. Oscar Delp TE Georgia
111. Derrick Moore EDGE Michigan
149. Domani Jackson CB Alabama
227. Dominic Zvada K Michigan
I just took the highest rated player left on the consensus draft board, UNLESS it was a RB or DT in which case I chose the next non-RB or DT on the board.
well, that and the kicker who I picked over 100’s of 7th round ‘scrubs’
I love it!
I DIG IT, Rockphin!
M, I really like EMW. I think he would be a good BPA pick for us in the 2nd round.
I have been looking at some day 3 safeties just in case. One guy I like mid to late day 3 is Ole Miss safety Wydett Williams Jr., 6’2, 205. Nothing special about him, I just think he plays a real solid game. Had 3 INT’s and 9 PD’s the last season at Ole Miss. He was a transfer from ULM.
LOL see my BPA draft directly above.
Yes sir! Again, I love it. Close to the best no trade mock I have seen yet.
Hezekiah Masses is a sweetass name
Why I always “waste” a pick on a kicker or punter ever mock;
As a top-rated specialist prospect, Dominic Zvada K set a Michigan record in 2024 with a 95.5% field goal percentage, including 7-for-7 on kicks over 50 yards. During the 2024 season, Zvada converted 21-of-22 field goal attempts (95.5%), setting a new single-season record for the Michigan Wolverines
Known for his accuracy from long range, Zvada has a career-long of 56 yards.
Zvada is projected to be one of the top kickers in the 2026 NFL draft class.
WAY better than paying a kicker we didn’t miss when put on IR $3.75M plus 500K roster bonus!
Damn this global warming! They are predicting low temps in the upper 30’s in Miami on Monday and colder the more you go inland from the coast.
sigh….
More energy into a closed system will create more instability including higher highs and lower lows, but overall, the average will be increasingly higher.
Tell that to those poor iguana’s. lol
Getting ready for day 1 of Senior Bowl practice on the NFL network.
Current top players I like…
SAF-1. Caleb Downs, 2. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, 3. Dillon Thieneman
CB-1. Mansoor Delane, 2. Keith Abney II, 3. Chris Johnson, 4. D’Angelo Ponds
LB-1. Sonny Styles, 2. Anthony Hill Jr, 3. CJ Allen
DT-1. Kayden McDonald, 2. Lee Hunter
OT-1. Francis Mauigoa, 2. Spencer Fano, 3. Max Iheanachor
OG-1. Vega Ioane, 2. Chase Bisontis, 3. Emmanuel Pregnon, 4. Keylan Rutledge
TE-1. Kenyon Sadiq, 2. Oscar Delp, 3. Eli Raridon
EDGE-1. Rueben Bain Jr, 2. Arvell Reese, 3. David Bailey (all 3 probably go top 10, so 3rd and 4th rounds are where I think we look at this position)
WR- (no 1st round for me, thank you) (probably 3rd round and beyond this year for the position)
RB- (no day 1 or day 2) (day 3 guys most likely…)
QB- (most likely no day 1 or day 2, though one of our late 3rd round picks is possible) (day 3 guy most likely…)
I forgot Colton Hood in my CB top 5
