Welcome—Aurora Novae Dies…

Welcome friends to the dawn of a new day, a new beginning, a fresh start for friends and fellow Dolphin fans to meet, converse and enjoy all things Dolphins.

If you have any difficulty logging in please e-mail the site address:

Perhaps the greatest accomplishment this new blog has succeeded in is eliminating the need for a character to have a space between paragraphs. It’s the small things that really matter most in the end.

Draft season is here. We will breakdown just about everybody (except the guys we usually draft) project picks, campaign for players, campaign against players.

Free Agency will open soon to give us a better indication of where the Dolphins may go. Do you we spend BIG? Do you we take a more conservative approach? Let’s all figure it together.

We want you to consider this blog, as related to Sun Life Stadium, the newly renovated blog, the blog with the gigantic umbrella if you will.

sunlife2

This site, my friends, was built by a team of willing and contributing people who like you simply love to chat about our beloved Dolphins.

Welcome and enjoy!

if it was the first week of the playoff maybe they would suspend tommy flatballs or both him and belicheat. but this is the sb. they will make excuses how they are still looking into it and do nothing till over the summer. and even then they will just say the cheats have to play 2 of their 8 home games next year without the cheerleaders on the sidelines.

  2. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Tim
It’s definitely a no win situation for the NFL

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yep! Letting the Pats get away with it will create an angry mob, suspending Belichick and Brady for the SB hurts the game but people will be more disappointed than angry at them. Everyone hates the Pats except for their fans. They should avoid the angry mob, that’s who pays them.

  3. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    lol @ brian.

yeah good luck with that one. let me guess you will wake them up at 7am and they will go mow the lawn wash the car, mop the floors and cook you breakfast. aaahhhh the sweet dreams of a vengeful parent. lol

  4. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    piggy

it is a no win with fans like us. but for the casual fan, they can just sweep it under the rug for a few weeks then deal with it after they give flatballs and belicheat a going away SB

  5. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Brian, we’re on the same page.

  6. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    tim

i bet if they do suspend flatballs and belicheat, there will be a record number of pass interference calls against the seahags this year.

  7. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

They aren’t going to suspend anyone now. I’m hoping gets suspended next season for two games, and we play them in the first or second game of the year.

  8. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

  9. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Brian, Sean Payton was suspended for a season because it happened under his watch and he lied to the league. Greg Williams was suspended indefinitely which I believe ended up at 2 years.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

There was proof that they were involved, and that was a case where players were intending to injure other players. I doubt a few deflated footballs come sclose to that punishment. There is no proof that Belicheck or Brady were involved, and Brady just lied through his teeth, denying any knowlegde.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The deflating of footballs is a clear violation of league rules. It disrespects the league and the sport.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I agree, but it’s not in the same league as trying to cause bodily harm. There is also no proof they did anything intentionally. It’s all speculation.

  10. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    tim

the difference is the jets just accused the fins of that, there was no proof. in both cases with the cheats, there is proof.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Addiitonally, it’s not like we played on a different field.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I was just pointing it out. That kind of stuff is actually considered gamesmanship because there is no clear rule on field conditions and accommodations. There is a rule about ball air pressure.

  11. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

How does some one who touched that deflated ball 60 times in a game deny knowledge

  12. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Is rather see Brady suspended for the Super Bowl than Belicheat
Of you were choosing one, who would you suspend

  13. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

If it was 4 footballs, it wouldn’t be an issue. But it was 11 deflated and one regular for kicking. I mean come on. LOL

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

It’s total bullshit. I hope the NFL comes down with an appropriate punishment, but who knows.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      That is the thing
The 12th football which is obviously for long FGs is what shows that there was a decision made from some one who oversees the team (Belicheat) to do it

What other evidence is the league searching for?

  14. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I’m waiting for some lackey to come forward and say “I made a mathematical mistake, that’s why all 11 balls were the same psi”.

  15. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

What we are doing right now is why I think the Pats get punished. This issue is taking away from the NFL’s biggest two weeks of the year.

  16. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Let’s also be clear about this, they tampered with the main object in the game, the ball!!!! Not cleats or some type of super socks, the fuckin football. Off with their heads! LOL

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I hate that people are trying to downplay it
      It’s the actual football
      It’s hardly slight

Imagine of an NBA arena made the rims a few inches wonder
      Or an NHL net

      It’s corking the bat
      And that is cheating

Why are baseball players who used steroids out
      Of the HOF?

      Bc it’s cheating

It’s actually a big deal what they did
And people should stop downplaying it

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Scuffing the baseball or putting a substance on it.

They should force everyone to use the same worked in balls that aren’t slippery and say this is what you play with. But you know what, then you’ll have teams saying the refs gave us the shit ball on our drive and the glorious ball when they scored. LOL

The game can be so silly.

  17. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I just want to say that this site is pretty awesome. Thanks again.

  18. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Fans at opposing stadiums should yell boo when the Pats have the ball, and encourage ‘cheaters’ chants all game long. Cheeeaaters! Cheeeaaters! Cheeeaaters! Boooooo!!!! Embarrass them and drive them insane. LOL

I see this happen so much within families, it’s sad when it comes to this….

Saints owner Tom Benson is being sued by his daughter and grandchildren after announcing Thursday that he planned to change his will to leave the team to his wife.
The Saints have long been slated to be left to Benson’s daughter and grandchildren, but that abruptly changed Thursday when Benson announced he intended to leave the team to his wife of 10 years. The daughter and grandchildren’s lawsuit alleges that Benson — who is 87 — is no longer mentally competent, and being manipulated by his wife. At stake is a fortune of more than $2 billion. The drama has reportedly been brewing behind the scenes for some time.

  49. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Anyone think Shaq Thompson could really be an NFL safety? I know he’s a playmaker, but what if he can’t play S, and is too small to play LB?

    • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

If he runs in the 4.5’s he can play safety. He’s fluid and he can hit.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I worry about drafting him, seems he doesn’t have a true position and in college it’s easier to just get by on pure athleticism…but I can see him daily like the scouts do, so he might become the next Cam Chancellor,. who knows.

    Mike E,
I worry about Shaq Thompson too. He’s actually not that solid a tackler. He goes for the big hit vs. wrapping up and I worry in the NFL he’s going to whiff more often and guys will take it to the house on him. Furthermore, I get nervous anytime you talk about drafting a guy early counting on him to make a position change and not miss a beat.

    On another note. F’in funny!

  54. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I worry about the position change for Shaq

Were you sitting or standing while shivaing?

  61. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I was listening to NFL radio on the way into work, and a Patriots fan was emphatically defending the Patriots, blaming the Colts for not complaining to the refs immediately, and waiting until after they lost, and how these false charges tarnish the greatness that the Patriots have achieved over the last decade or so. I would have strangled that fuck if he was in front of me, I was getting so mad. The hosts blew him up anyway, but he was so annoying.

  62. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Son, Fowler, really? Where would Coyle use him? Reminds too much of Jordan…I’d pass even if he’s still on the board @ #14, I’d rather go with the mystery position guy Shaq Thompson.

    • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

Fowler is a tough fit for us as we kind of have enough guys for the edge, but you can’t deny his speed and athleticism. He’d be the best available if he fell to 14.
      He’s a play-maker and a good team mate.
I really like the possibilities at 14. I’d love Fowler or Shaq, but I would also love a few of the receivers that should be there, some good DT prospects there and there will be some really good corners available as well. Should be interesting.

  63. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Wyo – You can fit the state of Wyoming in between that Dolphins babe’s ta-tas. lol

  64. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Son, agreed on the multitude of good prospects to choose from.

I want a big play maker on offense, cause our WR corp is about to dwindle with trying to figure out Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, & Clay as a receiver.
I’d like to swing for the fences with Green-Beckham @ #14, then TE Clive Walford in the 2nd rd….then BPA’s the rest of the way at any position excluding those two…lol
We can fix DT & G in FA, even a lot of CB’s are FA this year.
Back to the draft, rd’s 3-7 I’d look @ LB. S, DT, OT in any order.

  65. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

GDP, I wouldn’t be opposed to getting a couple of Offensive playmakers to start out but I find myself more drawn to the defensive players available early more so than the O. Shaq, I think, would be a dynamic player for us. The energy and versatility for the D like Landry gave the Offense.
It seems we really like some of the speedy receivers who can be had a little later allowing us to get a play-maker for the D early on.

  66. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

GDP – I think they’re over inflated too. lol

  67. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

    Son,
Yeah, I suppose Hickey could pass on a WR in the 1st…but looking like Dorsett on’t last past the 2nd now, maybe early 3rd. Then there is Devin Smith from Ohio St., he will probably be around in the 4-5th.
It’s too early…everything will come down to what we do with Wallace & our other FA’s, and who we sign from other teams in FA.
Then draft will become more clear as to where Hickey may go.

  68. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I wonder if we were in the SB if there would be more action here. lol
