Welcome friends to the dawn of a new day, a new beginning, a fresh start for friends and fellow Dolphin fans to meet, converse and enjoy all things Dolphins.

Perhaps the greatest accomplishment this new blog has succeeded in is eliminating the need for a character to have a space between paragraphs. It’s the small things that really matter most in the end.
Draft season is here. We will breakdown just about everybody (except the guys we usually draft) project picks, campaign for players, campaign against players.
Free Agency will open soon to give us a better indication of where the Dolphins may go. Do you we spend BIG? Do you we take a more conservative approach? Let’s all figure it together.
We want you to consider this blog, as related to Sun Life Stadium, the newly renovated blog, the blog with the gigantic umbrella if you will.
This site, my friends, was built by a team of willing and contributing people who like you simply love to chat about our beloved Dolphins.
Welcome and enjoy!

We think all of you are morons and if we blah blah and move slowly enough this will all go away as we are not prepared in any way shape or form to penalize, punish nor scrutinize our beloved patriot organization. If outcry does become too loud we then and only then issue a small wrist slap penalty on the pats. They have afterall already bought and paid for this Super Bowl.
Thank you for being a fan of the NFL now fuck off.
Yep! They need law firms? LOL
Mike E, it’s not a cache issue.
You would know better than I would.
I think the Pats are in a bit of trouble. NFL confirmed that balls were fine before the game. Deflated at halftime. Inflated for 2nd half. And fine when tested after the game. Pretty much shows that it wasn’t mother nature that caused it. Whether NFL does anything about it is another thing.
Convict — they will have to do something, but there will be nothing other than trying to push it under the rug till after the Superbowl. Hope after that they do an investigation like Bullygate though. That thing was like a hundred pages of interesting reading.
Mike,
I’m no expert, but my guess is that rendering is done on your browser end. All the text is transmitted from the server in a raw format and your browser settings determine which font it’s rendered in.
I sometimes get different fonts when I sign into the blogs.
Same blogs? Maybe each blog sends the browser a default and only browser settings can change the rendering? Mmm..I’m throwing darts at it at this point.
Mike E, I guess I don’t know better than you. I emptied my cache again and now it brings me to the end. Weird it didn’t work when I tried it the other day.
Jahn
I’m sure you’re right. That makes sense.

Jahn’s always thinking outside the box . . . . 🙂

Maybe one of you swiss bloggers can let him know Piggy wants to reach out to him
I do
Jahn, sometimes when I sign into FME, my log-in is in Arial or Times.
It’s clearly the work of a Caliphate.
LOL
Fonts depend on a lot of things. If the primary font of a site (as declared in it’s markup) isn’t installed on the machine, or isn’t embedded as a font file type in the markup being sent from the server to the client, then it will try secondary and sometimes tertiary font declarations in the markup. If none of those are available, it will default to some universal font type like Arial or Times.
Something getting f’ed up in the transmission of said information can result in a default universal font sometimes as well.
Okay probably too much info but there you have it lol
The NFl two-stepped on Deflategate today but did announce that the investigation, “will be led by NFL executive vice president Jeff Pash and Ted Wells of the law firm of Paul Weiss (Wells ran the Dolphins’ bullying scandal investigation), which isn’t important information to most fans.”
That last is to at least some of us……..should be a good read.
Is it even necessary?
Maybe no need for high priced lawyers but Goodell has to recuse himself at the very least. Partying such as he was with Kraft the night before, I have to wonder what plans were made then. Did this leak out before Godell had the chance to squash it? I just don’t know.
Tim — that Bullygate report was uber-long, detailed, and intensive…..even if painful. If I was a Pats or Jets fan would have been my best read of the year. Made my day to think about something similar on the Pats coming out down the road.
Did Goodell give Kraft a wink and a nod on Saturday night while they were partying?
Go ahead Robert, you and Bill do what you have to do, I’ll make sure it stays quiet. But somehow it got out too quickly or something. It sure makes me wonder. Especially when I look at all of the non calls all season long the patsies have got the benefit of.
Well as speculated, Kacey Rodgers has gone to be DC of the stinkin’ jets.
New that was coming.
The new factual part of the NFL statement:
“While the evidence thus far supports the conclusion that footballs that were under-inflated were used by the Patriots in the first half, the footballs were properly inflated for the second half and confirmed at the conclusion of the game to have remained properly inflated.”
And exactly how did balls re-inflate during half time when temperatures were falling? Seems like whoever deflated then re-inflated.
I heard Mike Francesa say today he knows for a fact that some owners are livid with the Pats and are tired of them always being up to something. Goodell couldn’t have asked for worse timing after a bad season already.
Hey, love the new desk !
LMAO — great to see you and what a great entry.
Hi

Thanks fellas. So this where yall been hold up. Looks nice and shiny!
They had to get things in order including chasing Piggy around to get him to put his pants back on. He’s a crazy pig!
My pants are not on
Again?
Piggy,
Looks nice and clean. Fonts will take some getting used to. I also prefer a 3rd party commenting system for blog entries such as DisQus (real time posting instead of refreshing the page every post; also integrates messages to Twitter when you use username handles. But I digress since it is not my blog :P.
Will be here as often as can be. 🙂
Just my feeling right now…..are Mike E and I the only ones who will get it?

Weren’t we supposed to meet at the Club house?
NO GIRLS! 😉
LOL — you He-Man Woman hater. 🙂
So has there been an official grand opening yet?
Nope
But I think it will happen soon
I’m not sure when
Soon though

Seems we’ll find out soon enough…….getting blocked by Omar is something to brag about.
An “I can’t handle the truth” post by a Pats fan.
“Has it occurred to anyone that maybe it was the center, B. Stork who preferred to have the footballs a little less inflated to make it easier to snap. T. Brady isn’t the only player that has to handle the ball on each play.”
Quick question….leave Pouncey at RG and draft a C while keeping Satele another season for insurance? or move Pouncey back to C and draft more OG help. I was looking at KState’s C – BJ Finney…anyone got an opinion about him? looks good to me.
Move Puncey back to center Al.
Pouncey too
Al I would rather have Pouncey at C
And bring in an OG
I would prefer we add a vet instead of draft OL
At some level seems we have to both. Wherever Pouncey is seems we need one solid set in the interior three and at least one to compete for the 2nd spot (but that can come at a lesser price or draft pick).
Speaking of BJ Finney, this was written over a year and a half ago. Talks about his father dying when he was 13 and the burden he took on as the man of the house.

Al, welcome buddy.
If ya want to leave Pouncey @ RG, then a good G/C prospect is the other Shaq, Shaq Mason from GT.
Otherwise I kinda like John Miller the Louisville G. Both of these guys can be had mid rounds.

Hey Al – what up brother? Good to see ya
I had no idea NFL balls are no longer made of leather. They are 100% synthetic
What’s with Al and DCoral’s avis? Did they go shopping together? LOL
They’re very fashionable. lol
Welcome DCoral, Al and 631!
I believe Pouncey will move back to C and we will look to add a guard and hope Turner wins the other spot.
Hoping on Turner too, but then he is the great unknown. Not so different from how Dallas Thomas was a year ago, but hey…..maybe Thomas will do a Soliai on us.
Turner’s got all the talent, he needs to get healthy and take everything he learned and get rolling early. I think he has more upside than Thomas.
Tim – Did you know NFL footballs are 100% synthetic?
No but I’m not surprised. Piggy should be happy. LOL
I think Turner and Thomas are total opposites. I think Thomas has the knowledge and knows what to do, but isn’t strong enough or quick to do it. I think Turner is strong, and quick, but needs to refine his skills and learn the position.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2337836-senior-bowl-2015-matt-millers-scouting-notebook
“2. OT Rob Havenstein, Wisconsin, and OG Laken Tomlinson, Duke
I wanted to highlight a few offensive linemen who really stood out this week. Wisconsin tackle Rob Havenstein played on the right side for the Badgers and showed an impressive array of agility, strength, technique and football IQ. You can tell he’s been well coached and is NFL-ready.
Duke guard Laken Tomlinson is well-put-together, measuring in at 6’3 1/4″ and 323 pounds. He’s solid and very thick throughout his trunk. That size moves well when asked to pull, and he showed very good strength and anchoring skills in drills. He’s a natural left guard.”
I forget who the big UTexas fan is here but Matt Miller (from the report I put above of the Senior Bowl) had this as his #1 surprise:
“1. ILB Jordan Hicks, Texas
A hip injury in 2012 and an Achilles injury in 2013 cut Jordan Hicks’ time at Texas way down, but the athletic linebacker was the most impressive of all the inside linebackers here this week.
He’s a naturally gifted athlete with the strength to fill against the run and the range to be a factor in pass coverage. Hicks looks like the new breed of agile, mobile inside linebackers who can stay on the field for three downs. “
I’ve seen him listed as an OLB.
Al, Hicks worries me in coverage…I rather have a kid like Tony Washington from Oregon who has displayed a more versatile game.
That’s interesting on Hicks, another one to keep an eye on.
Good interview with Hickey
http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/article-1/Senior-Bowl-Notebook-Day-4-Marshall-Making-A-Move-To-Defense-Other-Notes/4441bb51-a7f7-4542-bd6d-fa532021e80e
He sure looks the part:
Mr Hicks, CMON DOWN!
Looks good, but they all look good on their highlight reels.
Piggy,
My other avi wouldn’t load I think because I had rated it “PG” (instead of G). With Gravatar (and settings on various sites) you can set ratings on pictures that follow the Motion Picture Association of America rating scale -> G, PG, R, X. I think this website might be set, by default, to only allow G rated photos to load, lol.
If that is the problem then the settings either have to change or we will never see ffr and Rockphin again…..lol
GDP,
I’m reading on twitter that some personnel people at the SR BOWL practices were chatting up that Shaq Thompson would be more interesting as a RB with his athletic ability (he apparently played some RB at Washington).
GDP,
I don’t worry about a LB pass cover skills too much. In fact, if any LB can keep up with a TE or WR or RB, i’d chaulk it up to a poor TE, WR, RB skill set.
I don’t agree with that at all….in today’s pass oriented league with WCO’s & Spread Options, you better be ‘adequate’ in coverage as a LB.
There aren’t many top notch coverage LBs in the game. They usually going against a mismatch skill player. Pass rush is the most important function of pass defense.
Give me Stephone Anthony or Tony Washington over Hicks.
Mike E, I like Hickey and I like that he has so much personnel experience.
We’ll see if he can get at least another 2 first year starters in 2015, plus he needs to do a lil better on FA’s with injury issues.
those are funny
Herd, that was brilliant…funny stuff. Too bad we can’t read your lips 😉
Lol
I love these
More sticks I will eat
GDP, it’s hard to predict major injuries. I don’t blame Hickey for the injuries to Albert, Moreno and Delmas. At least Moreno and Delmas were on one year deals.
True, but not hard to predict as much when those players all had a known injury history. I do agree with a safe one-year deal approach if that is the best you could come up with in FA.
Delmas and Moreno came on the cheap and single years for just that reason. Albert is a different story, but we all saw how he went down…….that was not an injury prone thing.
Not major season ending injuries though. Moreno one year had a season ending knee injury in Denver, but Albert got more dinged up in KC as did Delmas in DET. There are a lot of injuries in the league. You just have to hope for the best.
I guess he ain’t no Chris…lol
The Chiefs have dropped out of the running for CFL WR Duron Carter.
The Kansas City Star doesn’t provide reasoning, but it’s possible Carter’s price tag proved too lofty. Carter is said to be seeking a signing bonus in the $100,000 range — quite a bit more than a seventh-round draft pick.
Oh okay, way to demand certain dollar amounts when you’ve proven nothing in the NFL. Go back to playing in the CFL for $35K per year.
GDP,
Your boy is Dorrell Green Beckham, right?
Al, so you’re saying this is a Sesame Street blog? LOL
Hickey needs to do better in FA this time around. It will likely be fewer new players to our team as we have to resign a few of our own. But I’d like to see 2 FA’s from the top end of their position signed.
Like a vet G Franklin & a vet DT Williams, or maybe a vet LB Harris, or CB Cromartie.
We need to free up that money first. We have a lot of big contracts already who don’t produce up to par.
Hence my comment above…lol
Brian, Beckham is one of my boys, yup.
I’ve been watching his draft stock since you brought him up. Unfortunately, it’s skyrocketing. I’ve seen some rate him as high as 14 or 15 overall as far as talent.
Yeah, I knew everyone would see the very rare talent he has….I’m all in favor of taking him @ #14…everyone thought we were reaching on James last year.
I’d be shocked if we took a guy like him with the current coaching staff in place. I could see SF grabbing him at 15.
Tim — Delmas was more than just banged up in the past. This from an article in 2012.
———————–
“Lions safety Louis Delmas doesn’t like being called injury prone.
Maybe he knows a better phrase for it, but he has missed 12 of the Lions’ last 19 games because of knee problems”
(and that was obviously over two seasons).
Yeah but he didn’t blow the knee. Clay had similar injuries this past season. Delmas was healthy all year until he blew the knee.
Tim — that was just a quick search find, but my memory of when he came to us was the reports were both that he had missed a lot of game due to injuries and cause of his reckless play was one waiting to happen.
Brian, why would you be shocked? Philbin has to WIN NOW. A guy like DGB can get in the endzone and get you points…Look at the other rookies last year, Benjamin & Odell Beckham.
Not because of the talent, but because of the character concerns.
He wouldn’t be moving up the boards now if his character was scaring teams that bad.
True, but some teams are more concerned with character than others. I think Hickey and Phibin like to play it safe.
It was just a few plays on a highlight reel, but Jordan Hicks looks like he tackles a bit high. He’s going to need to adjust that in the NFL.
Rob Rang (and cbs) seem to think Hicks is solely a 4-3 OLB
not an inside guy
GDP, what comment did you make above regarding clearing cap space?
Brian, most teams shy away from taking a guy like DGB, not just this coaching staff. Josh Gordon is a great player but he gets suspended every year.
I know, but I don’t care about other teams!
I wouldn’t draft DGB early. I’d rather target guys ready to be pros and there is plenty of good WR talent out there.
I’d be hesitant to take him that early.
GDP, I don’t think that much movement in draft rankings has happened yet. That usually doesn’t happen until after the combine and pro days.
uuggggg and the blog took that turn for the worse. draft talk. i know it is dark out, but i am going to go watch my grass grow while you boys talk draft
and here i went and brought back the old avi for draft talk. maybe i should put the bag back on my head.
Yeah, I’d do that if I was you.
Tim, I guess my clearing of cap space was disguised too much for ya above.
I was saying that we may see fewer FA signings from other teams this year. I want just 2 Top FA from other teams, cause we got some of our own FA’s to deal with, as in restructure and cuts.
Hickey needs to get us 2 Top end vets, either a DT &, G, or S,& LB….IMO.
I’m not sure about top end in FA. I think we’ll see more mid tier to patch some areas and continue to develop players already in the org and then again through the draft. I think the 2nd and 3rd year players are as if not more important than the next wave of FA and the draft.
Right, but Philbin has to WIN NOW.
I would love it if we obtain OL and DL in fa
Herd
That was hilarious! I love those! I was laughing pretty good here. Thanks!
Stanger, injuries are hard to predict. Look at the 49ers losing Bowman in the NFC Championship game last year and then Willis this year. They had no history of injuries. Not many NFL players are 100% the way they abuse their bodies. Ahmad Bradshaw has been playing on bad ankles and feet for 5 years but he keeps producing through it, then goes down for a few, then goes and plays full speed until he goes down again. That’s how it is in the NFL.
But the subject is not about predicting injuries, it is about being injury prone. RIght or not Delmas was getting that tag by some in 2012.
I think it is more than just a myth. Didn’t want to keep Jake for just that reason. Didn’t that cross your mind with him after two years going on the IR and a fairly serious injury the third of his last three years? Sorta remembering you bringing that factor up.
Yes but Jake kept going on IR and he’s still doing it. Albert and Delmas didn’t until this year.
But Delmas still missed missed 12 of 19 games over two seasons and Detroit writers were calling him injury prone. Not saying that is the same as Jake, but coming in people were saying he was a risk for that same reason. Guess it is easy to say now given what happened, but were they wrong to bring that up?
Yeah, I’d do that if I was you.
oh come on, if you were me you would be doing a lot more then that.
I agree with Stanger. Some guys just get saddled with injuries. It’s not just once or twice, but it becomes a part of who they are. After this past season, if we want to be successful this season, there’s no reason to pick up any injury risk players.
Look around the league at how many players struggle with injuries, top level players too. It’s part of the game.
i think we all know the secret to a successful upcoming dolphin season. lauren is going to have to make the sacrifice and just deflate ryans balls before every game.
Ryan’s Balls?
Piggy’s pants?
This isn’t a gay site is it?
Not that there is anything wrong with that!
😉
Tim
While that may be the case, I think we should steer clear of guys who have been oft injured. I don’t think Joe and Dennis want to have another year like last year losing all those players.
Well ultimately that’s what you want.
Piggy, I think we will address DT and G in FA. I like DT Ahtyba Rubin CLE. Add him to Mitchell and Starks and look to Fede to replace Odrick’s role. We didn’t have 3 DTs like that this past season. Rubin will take some reps away from Starks to keep him fresher throughout the season. He gives us a big anchor type DT. Then maybe Francis and Johnson compete for depth.
*
I’m not sure who the FA guard will be, there is probably a guy we’re not talking about who might be a good fit in our system.
Ryan’s Balls?
Piggy’s pants?
nope, it is just a site about deflated things.

Anyone else think the Super Bowl is already tarnished? I’ll be in SC on vacation for the SB with my wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law and we’re going to go to some sports bar to watch it. But I’m not hyped up about it at all. I don’t really care. I like championship week more anyway because it still has home field advantage but the Pats once again shit on that element.
Tarnished with the stench of chEat
Stanger, no doubt there is risk when rolling the dice on talented players with durability issues. Good thing Moreno and Delmas were one year deals. We can walk away from it. The news that Albert is WAY ahead of schedule is encouraging. 🙂
tim
i would guess for the last 7 years of so I have has a SB party. it is all family and like the end of the holiday season party. this year i have absolutely no interest in having a SB party. i mean maybe i will on sat night just to have a party but i honestly have zero interest what so ever in watching a second of the game. kind of like that college final. zero interest.
a lot is cause who is in it. i hate both teams. but now it is cause of the pats caught cheating again and the nfl just turning their back on it. i think we being fin fans have seen for years the one sided bs that pats get, but now it is out there again how they cheat and it will just be ignored. so i for one doubt if i will watch any of the game.
