The Porcine Oddyssey #88: Bill Belicheat, A Honest Man

PiggyLogo

Frankly, I don’t understand why everyone has jumped to any conclusions concerning the Patriots and Deflategate.  Do you have any reason to question the credibility of the New England Patriots?…I don’t!  Maybe if you knew a little more about Bill Belicheat, you would not be so quick to judge him or the New England Patriots.

Bill Belicheat is an honest man.  He is a pillar of ethics.  Even as a child, Bill took great pride in earning everything he obtained.

Belicheat in School

His incredible and unbreakable code of ethics lead him to great success throughout school.  He aced every test!  His teachers were amazed.  “How does little Bill do it?”, they asked.  Bill always responded “mumble mumble mumble” which of course means – I earned it fuckwad! Or something about being on to Cincinnati.

BillBelicheatTest

College was hardly a breeze for Belicheat.  He paid for his tuition with a series of odd jobs.  Did you know Bill Belicheat worked in Casinos throughout College.  Pretty cool right?

Cheating cardsBelicheat

And no surprise – he excelled!  Way to go Bill Belicheat.  Considering what a hard worker Bill is, its surprising that he makes any time for hobbies.  But he does!  He is an avid videographer and bird watcher.  He travels the world to watch birds.  New York, Miami, Exotic Buffalo – Bill is there.  He loves your birds!

So the next time you decide to judge Bill Belicheat – stop for a minute, remember this post and then tell the NFL how you feel.  Bill Belicheat is an honest man.

Did you get a fair amount of snow already? Looks like about an inch here so far, and that’s it. My office called a few minutes, they’ve decided to close tomorrow.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We got about 5 inches Friday night but then a light rain packed it down to about 3. But shoveling the wet snow was tough at times. It’s been snowing all morning and our office will also be closed tomorrow. I’ll do some work from home but not looking forward to shoveling again. Ugh!

    Tim
We only got about 3-5″ the other night, which was then compacted to about 2″ after the rain. It was pretty heavy, but at least it wasn’t ice. I shoveled most if yesterday, Saturday I worked, and then we had a confirmation party at night, so no time to shovel then. I expect to do plenty o’ shovelin tomorrow though.

  23. D's avatar ldlayton says:

I was really disappointed in senior bowl game, just had so little QB action that it was hard to eval receivers or Db’s effectively. DT’s OL, RB’s for the most part had some shine moments, Kouandjio, looked good. Practices were way better and i think i got a better idea of who i may want out of the invites there from practice over the game, which is pretty much true most years. I will say though Nick Marshall had a great game, and i think his move to CB may have just started rough but eventually could pay off. His combine speed will determine to me if he should stay at CB or do what i personally think he should and move to SS. He showed really solid tackling skills and put some really hard hits on people. At 6’1 he has the height for it, thought hat would also make him a CB with good height. Im just not sure his ball skills and 40 time isnt going to make him fall into a “undraftable” spot at CB too. Will hae to see but he also might be worth a flyer for us as an UDFA if he does slip out of the draft.

      Well, I’m not young, so . . . . . .

      • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Snowblowers are the way to go. Last you 15 years, and if you only have to use it once or twice a year…it is worth it.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Still have to do shoveling to get cars out etc. Not enough room for a snowblower at our house, narrow driveway. My neighbor has a snowblower and he does the main sidewalk which is cool.

      • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Yeah, they work out best if your cars are in a garage, and you can do the driveway with no cars parked there. My car is parked outside, and it sucks when we get a ton of snow…LOL

  38. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

“It’s going to filled with amateurs in a frenzy”

Mike E — talk about amateurs……scariest thing is seeing Southerners drive on the stuff. When I was in high school a buddy of mine who was from Florida borrowed a car so we could get some beer. There was like 2-3 inches on the ground. After about half a mile and two 360 spins I go — “pull the F over…I’m driving.”

  39. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Stanger – It’s funny man, but in the snow, it seems like there are only 2 types of drivers I really notice on the road. The crazy ones who drive too fast, and are really dangerous, and the ones that drive 10MPH even if there’s just an inch of snow on the ground.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yep! I love the ones who drive 35 on a highway because it’s drizzling.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s true. It’s frustrating. I remember driving home a couple of years ago from work when I was in Hightstown, and it was really bad road conditions, about 5-6″ of icy snow. I have a Subaru Legacy w/AWD, and while I was able to get going, there was still some slipping and sliding, and some people were just flying by me, I was driving about 30-35mph. I saw this truck who flew by me on the side of the road, facing the wrong direction up on the curb. Guess he lost control when he tried to stop.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

That’s in the Northeast Mike. The Southerners have to clue….and I’m not even talking FL. Lived in Virginia 20 years. We’d get like two snows a year, but the basic training just wasn’t there. Two inches turned the place into a demolition derby.

  41. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Yeah OD wants on here. Just checking my phone messages from last night (was out to dinner)……..three very frustrated ones from him.

He says he doesn’t know his Word Press password. Is there a place I can send him (mine is pre-set so I don’t even now) where he can re-set or is just setting him up under another name the easiest way to go?

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

jetssuck is having the same problem, and I did too (too many damn passwords!). He just needs to login to wordpress with his e-mail address (the e-mail he used to set up his wordpress acct), and click “forgot password”. It will then send him an e-mail enabling him to reset his password.

  42. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  43. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike E, people think because they have trucks and SUVs with AWD or 4WD that ice doesn’t effect them. Idiots!

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Yeah, I suppose part of it is the advertising for these trucks, these people feel invincible. All they really do for you is give you more traction to get going from a start, and depending upon the vehicle, it may have a crawl gear which lessens the likelihood of spinning your wheels. Once you get up to speed though, it doesn’t make a difference whether you have 4WD, AWD, FWD or RWD. When you have to stop, it all goes out the window, nd the same thing for when you have to turn.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Have driven 4 wheel SUV’s, but my favorite (except for the clearance factor) in the snow was my old Saab 900. Wide wheel base, and a heavy engine right over the front wheel drive. It would be just the snow plows me and the pick-ups out there at times.

  45. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Stanger – Tell OD what I just told you, or if you want, send me his e-mail (If you think he wouldn’t mind), and I will send him instructions.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Could you just send the instructions to me? Believe me this is going to be a phone call step by step thing and I don’t want to pop too much info to him at once. Plus I’d like to test out first so I know how to do it before I dial his number.

  46. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Thanks Son

  47. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike E, I have a Honda Pilot with 4WD and when I use 1st gear up or down a hill it’s great because it’s a crawl and you don’t have to use your breaks. But if you’re on ice you’ll slide anyway. It’s more for slippery snow and slush, ice can throw any vehicle around.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s a handy thing to have, it’s essentially just a very tall gearing, which means throttle inputs don’t send a lot of power to the axles to the wheels. Neither my car or truck have that, but even if you don’t have that, and you have some kind of manumatic, or manual automatic transmission, you can just choose a higher gear to kind of replicate that.

  48. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Ticketmaster just sent me an e-mail on superbowl tickets.
The ones they have range from $3,715 to $14,203.
So guess it cost over three grand to get in the equivalent of Sec 403 for the Superbowl Fest.

  49. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Stanger – I sent you instructions, I hope they help. If not, we may have to enlist Herd or Twice, those are the two tech savvy people here, and no offense to anyone else.

I really like that draft lol.

Got a WR i am really high on, and ILB thats my 2nd round guy,

The CB he got for us is a really good selection, though i pretty sure there may be better on the board then.

You know how feel about Tartt, and i think if he is a 4th round selection then thats going to be a steal of a pick.

They indicated in the Davidson pick that was with consideration that the Phins would get a FA DT as well, Davidson would be a developmental/rotational guy this year. Under that pretense it was a good pick as well,

They selected a bowling ball RB, but they are also saying go after Gore in FA, Magee is a pretty decent selection in the 6th, though i woulda taken Matt Jones over Magee. LSU does generally turn out some good RB’s.

Then they mop up with a local kid who can help add OL depth. This draft is pretty damn close to what mine generally look like when i dont do a trade back, except you can probably flip their DT for OT/OG as i have a feeling if we get a FA DT,a and OG, we still need OG depth more than DT depth.

  61. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

GDP — that losing a step thing ain’t a myth. That plus when the sore moves from the night after the game to the next morning. Even worse is when the height of it goes to the 2nd day morn…….that’s when you know for certain it is time to move on.

  62. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I also liked the PBP draft. Totally addressed our needs with some good players.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I like a WR in the 1st, I kinda like Perryman, but worry about his height in todays pass happy game…I wouldn’t draft MacGee that high or at all if we get Gore in FA, I’d draft another need there.

  63. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike E, in Greek it means baptism in wisdom. Christianity has made it out to be an evil thing. That was never what it meant. Anton LaVey introduced it as a symbol of his silly Church of Satan in the 1960s and from there associated with Satan. It’s more Pagan and is a deity of nature. Really scary stuff. LOL

The start of the league new year, not just FA, will shed a lot of light on what our draft needs will look like. Besides who we sign we need to see who we don’t sign or who we trade possibly and who we retain to keep from leaving.
Our first pick could go in so many directions at the moment which is good I just want whoever it is to come in and own a position like James did.

Tanny needs a big quality target. Even with Wallace, Hartline, is likely gone, and I believe Landry is best used in the slot. Not a luxury pick in the least IMO

Is there any reason to think that Clay may get the Franchise Tag, just over 7 mil. Keep him here another year and see what Sims, Lynch and the rest amount to. Keeps from tying up long term money if they wanted to.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Not a bad idea and a nice raise for Clay.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Don’t think Clay gets the franchise tag. Price is just too high. Even if we draft a stud TE, that guy should be good enough to step in.

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Walford if he’s there @ #46…best case scenario is we can trade down with our #14 pick…then we are looking good to pick up talent on both O & D.

      • D's avatar D says:

More and more i considered it, i think there is at best a 50% chance we resign Clay. He fits our offense decently, but not as much as previous when Sherman was still here. It doesnt seem to em Lazor featured him, s it could be he would rather have a different guy at that position, could also be i dont think Clay was 100% any game this year and was always a step off and may times just looked awkward out there. I could see them resigning him for friently amount, or if they are going to have to pay someone i could see them upgrading their redzone effectiveness with a guy like Juluis Thomas.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The supposed stud TEs have struggled early on. Clay is a proven playmaker. Re-sign the man! We can’t replace and add players at every position. How about keeping some of our own who have proven themselves – chemistry, locker room etc.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Tim — I think re-sign is what will happen.

  77. D's avatar D says:

I really would not take Walford in the 2nd. He showed some flashes at Senior Bowl practices, but his who year evaluation isnt that great. He dropped a number of passes, and he didnt seem fluid. If there is a 2nd round worth cane its Perryman, and i hope if we take a cane in the second its him. Walford i think is at best a 3rd round guy, but he has the benefit of a shallow TE pool this year so someone will likely reach for him.

this blogging on 2 sites is weird. Can’t we all just get along and blog on one site?

This is going to be the one and only time I say anything about this. I’d rather not have to say anything at all but I don’t like when things are said that aren’t true, so I’m going to clear it up as far as my involvement is concerned.

It’s been said over and over that Gigi picked us to help with the blog. That is incorrect. Someone approached her with the idea of some of us helping with the understanding that we were going to try to get Walker back on the blog. Not as an admin, at least not initially, but just to have access. I think the hope was in time they would come to some sort of truce and he could have his admin back, but that wasn’t part of my involvement in it. I did figure out why he couldn’t sign on and got that straightened out. Other than that, I helped load some articles from time to time.

For my time and trouble of helping him get access again I along with all the others had all kinds of things said about us. We were thieves, etc. And not just back then, but it continues in that I saw it said we copied all the email addresses to start this blog. There was no need to copy them, I had most of them from doing the tshirt and the ones I didn’t have, someone else did.

There were a lot of things said that one night when everything exploded. I did get an email apologizing for it, and that’s great, but if you do that in a public forum, you need to make your apology in a public forum as well.

We have said over and over that everyone is welcome to come here. I don’t know how much plainer that can be. I didn’t send emails to everyone because from all reports people were having trouble signing in that way and once the blog was ‘public’ I figured everyone knew how to get here. Just speaking for me, I don’t have an inclination to go hang out in the cyber world where someone is calling me a thief when I did nothing of the sort. So as I’ve said, I’m monoblogamous.

Herd — you are one of the bestest around. Thank you for all your work. I feel bad that you and the others ended up getting into such a bad situation, especially cause I helped create it.

In case anyone is curious, I was the someone who approached Gigi with the new plan and she was gracious enough to agree to it. All I wanted was one big happy family. That obviously did not work out. I’m done with that now (and I have a clear thought that it will never be, least for a few).

Anyone else want to give it a shot…….go ahead. But even if I think it won’t work, can guarantee if that lotto chance comes up it won’t be done by talking on the open board.

thanks for the clarification herd. I’ll just keep blogging on both sites

All-Star games are shams. The NHL game was 17-12. That is nothing like a typical hockey game. Ridiculous!

D, on Walford,….don’t forget he had to adjust to a true freshman Kaaya.

Its amazing to watch walford shoot up the boards after his practices at senior bowl week
Its still a bit of a weak TE class IMO
Buts its good to see one with potential

He really benefits from a VERY weak TE class. Event he top rated guy to me is going to take a year or so to cook. I think the start right off guy is Funchess, and he has some dropsies in his past. Only reason i think he has higher potential to start right off is his versatility to be moved in and out to a WR position.

I have always been that guy who tried to mend fences when two friends had a falling out. I have always tried to show one person the others perspective and bring them closer to the middle and to a resolution spot. In this case though my gut told me, things here were so bad off between Gigi and Walker, it was going to take some sorta mutual disclosure of guilt to the other, and some sort of apologetic explanation for their side of things to one another. They needed to one on one work it out in this case. Also to be clear i see bad on both sides, handled poorly on both sides, and part of me did want to reach out and try to smooth it out, but i stayed back on purpose because i foresaw how ugly this could get, and how my involvement could make it worset. For what its worth Stanger, you were the better man than I, you tried and in all honesty i thought you had successfully accomplished what you set out to. You deserve recognition for that and should not feel “to blame” for anything. It could have worked, but unfortunately that was not how it ended up.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

D — should be clear that it wasn’t just me, even if I was involved. It was pretty clear to all that the two principles would never get along, so a buffer with some of the best people we know was set up. Still didn’t work unfortunately. The reasons it didn’t is why I will be doing at least most of my posting on this board.

Once you are in you don’t need to be moderated
Did you get a message about that?

I heard some one else have that issue

It may just take a few posts to reconize that you are in

There are a lot of hot Colombian women
    On and off TV
That region Brazil, Colombia and Venezuala is full of beautiful women

    • D's avatar D says:

No convincing here, one of the most “outside myself” moments i ever had was with a Colombian woman. To this day i look back as in disbelief at myself that i was actually doing some of those things. It was quite public and quite pornographic but that is possibly the hottest woman i have ever encountered and i simply couldn’t help myself.
