In Idaho growing up we only had the normal 4 TV channels to watch. Not that we were ever inside to watch them.
Besides that there were no major Sporting franchises within a day’s drive.
The only thing we had close was The Wonderful World of Sports on Sunday.
Somewhere sometime I got an NFL poster that I put on my wall. It showed each team’s helmet and which division and conference they were in.
My Dad was never a big TV watcher so we didn’t have “Football time” at the house
I’m sure I watched some football in my younger years? And the Fins dominating the NFL at the time makes me think that they were the ones I heard about the most.
If you haven’t figured it out yet I will argue with a tree! And when I was younger I was way worse than I am now. So I argued for the Fins through the Steeler / Dallas / Bronco era’s. 
Not really being a Football fan it went on that way for years. I learned more about the fins, even started to get up on the roof to turn the antenna when the games were on.
Then it happened! The greatest NFL game ever played!
The Epic in Miami is the name given to a National Football League AFC divisional playoff game between the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins that took place on January 2, 1982 in the Miami Orange Bowl.
I had never had my attention riveted to anything like that game did! After the game was over I looked up into a dark house! I hadn’t moved from that spot since halftime.
And I was hooked! Everything Dolphins, all the time.

D – I would take a 2nd RD pick for Wallace, especially in this draft. It would give us the opportunity to get some O-line or D-line quality, and a WR, and maybe a LB, CB or S as well. I don’t think we would get it, but it sounds great. lol
If we land a solid OL and DT in either FA or the draft we’ll already be better. We need to add a solid LB and depth in the secondary due to pure numbers with injuries and FA. But we don’t NEED a WR or a RB. We can upgrade the team in FA and with our current draft, I don’t think adding more picks is a must.
Well, if we traded Wallace, or cut him, we’d absolutely need a WR. I’d still like a big WR even if Wallace is here, but it’s not a necessity really, just a want.

Mike E, but replacing Wallace is one player. I was touching on people saying trade down and get more picks which is always popular around draft time because it makes it more fun to imagine possible talent. We can improve the team without trading up or down. Also you can use FA as a good avenue to upgrade talent without breaking the bank.
If we released Ellerbe and Wheeler and don’t re-sign Trusnik and Freeny, I think we could upgrade at LB for half the cost of what we paid Ellerbe, Wheeler and Trusnik.

JETSSUCK I saw your question RE: Florida and FAU but I’m unable to post from work. The answer is UF and FAU play just one game this year. BTW, the game will be played TOMORROW, not Wednesday as I earlier reported. This hurts FAU’s chances because their #1 pitcher will be unable to go on 3 days rest. Looks like our #3 guy will get the ball.–Later this season Miami and FAU will play two more one game series in Coral Gables. Last season FAU & the Canes split two extra inning games in Miami’s home park. The only other possible Top 10 team FAU plays this year is the Rice Owls team (3-game series in Houston).

OD, I think it’s hard to project a 5th thru 7th rd pick as your backup QB. My caveat for a backup QB would be a vet who has some similar skill sets to Tanny so we don’t have to change the offense for the backup.
Even though Matt Moore doesn’t possess very good mobility, I wouldn’t mind him back because he’s serviceable, knows the system and seems to be a good teammate.
I don’t think I have ever seen anyone be a top performer in every category?

Well he’s not accurate, can’t complete a pass over 10 yards, has no pocket presence and doesn’t carry a team on his back. Though strangely enough in a new offense for the first time in his career, he progressed in every phase. Sometimes I ponder the wonders of the world. LOL

I think we should re-sign Matt Moore. Yes, I do still have a job. The new program is bad, but we’re all adjusting to it. It really is too many steps to accomplish a sale, but I either have to quit, or deal with it, so for now at least, I think I’m going to cope with it.

Agreed. I would take a look at Jake Locker, Colt McCoy, Brian Hoyer and Austin Davis. Only if they’re content as backups. This is a no competition situation, Tanny is the starter.

Mike E, I thought about Ponder but I don’t like him. I’ve had discussions with Viking fans who are my friends and a cousin about him, and they all see the same thing I do. The guy drops back like 10-15 yards deep and rolls out and when he finally throws, it’s a 15 yard pass for 0-5 yards. He lacks something. I’m not a fan so I left him off the list. But he has similar skill sets to Tanny athletically, even better than some of the other guys I mentioned. I like their games better though.
Locker is the best back-up in terms of continuity of the offense.
I STILL contend that if Tenn hadn’t taken Locker that Ireland would have.
Out of who mentioned above, i’d like Hoyer, Locker,Davis in that order.. not sure Hoyer leaves Cleveland though, or if he does he may look for starter job.. I also like Glennon, but i know he is not a FA..
Agreed. He’s proven to not be durable, but if he has to come in because Tanny went down, and then he gets hurt, the season is over anyway. As a backup maybe he can find a role in the NFL and fill in when needed being that Tanny has proven to be durable.

…also saw the Panthers released RB DeAngelo Williams. I remember a lot of bloggers wanting the Phins to get him in FA before, but he’s gotten on the wrong side of 30 for a RB and is frequently broken down with leg injuries.

The O-linemen in the draft this year are so blasé they didn’t even have one to simulcast with Rich Eisen running the forty.
Son, I don’t see this as great draft with anyone that special. I’m sure a few will turn out to be pretty damn good, just not seeing the no doubt guys anywhere at this time.
I also feel the college game is watering down the NFL game in the form of a lack of good football fundamentals. Yes there are some ready to go guys and great athletes, but on a larger scale a lot more greeness then ever before that I can remember.

Dolphins K Caleb Sturgis may be in danger of losing his job to futures signee Zach Hocker.
Taken in the fifth round of the 2013 draft during the final year of the Jeff Ireland regime, Sturgis has missed 16 of his 71 field goal attempts through two seasons. He’s no better than a league-average kicker. Hocker was drafted in the seventh round by the Redskins last year and costs less money.

Tim, guys are coming out in record numbers every year with less and less college experience. Couple that with the college game transitioning to the spread offenses and it leaves holes for the NFL with guys.
Instead of having seen them do certain things they now have to wonder and hope that he can. One thing that isn’t going away though is the freakish athletic ability they all have. They might take an extra season but many will come around.
