Chicago’s best known wide receiver. future broadcaster Ahmad Rashad, had 29 receptions for 500 yards and three touchdowns. Future Hall-of-Fame tight end Jackie Smith was infrequently utilized during this season. Future Hall-of-Fame defensive back Larry Wilson was the leader of the Cardinals defense. I remember this game as one where i was excited to see their safety and QB for St.Louis. The monday night games were always exciting. The west end zone would smell of pot half way across the stadium. The NFL didn’t have professional cheerleaders as in today’s NFL. The Dolphin cheerleaders were young kids and they were located in the west end zone floor lower level. I knew one who was in my school.
Y’all sound like you did last year about Bortles the way you talk about Perriman. It’s laughable, truly is. Bortles was a legit early first rounder as is Perriman.
He didn’t run at the combine y’all, that’s why his pro day was so impactful.

Another important tidbit – Hickey doesn’t care what everyone else thinks, he liked Ja’Wuan James, and took him in the 1st RD although everyone else thought it was a reach. I never did, and I expected that to happen. Don’t be surprised if WR is our pick, and Cooper-White-Parker are off the board that we go Perriman if Hickey likes him.
I have Perriman over Parker simply for toughness. Perriman is a beast, Parker looks to be dainty at times. You are correct though Hickey gets his man, so we’ll see.

Not sure what to think of Perriman. The doubts come from lack of volume in targets. His catching mechanics are not ideal but it works for him. I don’t have the resources to watch every route he’s run but he is the son of a former NFL player and I’m pretty sure route running is not a problem for him (his dad taught him how to play, probably was his biggest critic, and the fruit doesn’t usually fall far from the tree talent wise). NFL front offices love blood lines as if its some sort of validation that the talent will work at the next level (whether as false as it may be; that thought exists). His speed is undeniable and his concentration worked in the most critical moments of UCF comeback wins and that’s all i know.

As far as the trade back, I think it would be fine too. I’ve heard Bill Polian, Gil Brandt, Pat Kirwan all say that this class is almost completely even pick #15 through #50, or thereabouts. A trade back, IMO, would be ideal for us, if the guy we really wanted isn’t there.
The draft is often like that. That’s probably why there are rumors of us wanting to trade up to get special. If not we probably will trade down if we can.

They plan on using it in the private sector to navigate rubble after earthquakes, etc, and find trapped survivors. Not trying to be all “conspiracy theory” but generally way technology works is government has things WAY before we ever see it, so i can bet the application that you see in the movie “Fifth Element” is a very likely application for them. I guess now we all have even more reason to squish those bastards than ever before.

I did too. I think that would be best for a lot of reasons. I think he’s shown enough to be all in with him. He’s improved every year. He still needs to improve, but I think he will. Also, his salary next year is $16M if we don’t do a new contract. The biggest reason is because now, you can sign him at a “reasonable” contract. If he blows it up this year with 35 TD’s and 4500 yards, his salary goes waaaaay up.

Bell labs current location is there by the township where I used to work at (Berkeley Heights, NJ but Bell labs is in Murray Hill technically I believe). It’s not the original location of course They are just North of I-78 on the other side of the hill the interstate runs by. One of the locals I worked with (age 60 when I was at AIG) worked for AT&T there for many years (his mother worked for them as well from the same area) told me that the old copper roof of the facilities in Murray Hill, NJ was sold/used in the remodeling of the statue of liberty in the 80s because it was of the same copper grade that was needed on statue of liberty for repair.

I don’t really celebrate things like that. It is what it is. Someones family was ruined (maybe several) and justice needs to be served in our nation of law & order. Hopefully the jury made the right judgement based on the evidence presented (i don’t know of what was presented; i didn’t follow the case in detail or was I present on the jury for other pertinent info).

The defense admitted he was at the scene (sorta had to), but claimed he didn’t know the murder was going to go down. Given that two other guys were there and no one was talking, the jury had a much finer view of reasonable doubt than the one for OJ did.

Going back to yesterday’s comments, of the big upscale chain places in the US, I prefer Capital Grille over the likes of Smith & Wollensky, Ruth’s Chris, & Morton’s.
I like the smaller non-chain type places where there is more pride in what they serve.
San Diego would be a fool to deal Rivers, though its probably the best time for them to do so since he is up for contract next year. Best time for them to get really good value for him, but i think they set their team back 5-10 years at very least doing so.

Twitter was blowing up the last 2 days talking about the Chargers offering up Rivers. Apparently Rivers wants out and the Chargers want to start from scratch again with a new QB. It’s probably just BS but it’s funny none the less (water cooler talk). The Dolphins angle just comes from the ‘win now’ mentality of maybe the owner.
Gotcha – That would be a retarded move by MIA.
The Rivers idea comes from a 3 year win target before an eventual blow up instead of banking on incremental gains.
I doubt the Chargers and Rivers part ways when everyone knows finding a good QB is the hardest thing to do in the sport.

I really thought Hernandez would walk on this one but probably be convicted in the other trial. The Defense really shredded the circumstantial evidence in this case, and then the deliberation of almost 7 days would usually lead to an acquittal. Rare to see that long of a deliberation for a conviction.
They probably did him a favor. Snitches get stihes and he tried to dump blame on his banger buddy probably would have gotten him dead, and possibly still will. Id be afraid if i was his fiance/child right now. They may go after them.

They cant drat a replacement for Rivers. You have 0 QB’s in this draft that replace Rivers even 5 years from now.
I agree his value right now is about as high as they can expect it ever getting. Next year his contract is up and no one will try to trade for him knowing he likely wont re-sign with them anyways (He apparently is anti the LA move, so i guess a lot hinges on that). I do think though the statement about replacing him being easy isn’t accurate, i dont see a QB this year or next year that will come close to replacing him, probably ever.
Replacement as far as playing QB. Not saying anyone is going to do what he can do right now, but i don’t think SD is a contender with Rivers, or even close really, so, it makes sense to me.
That may be true, but do you normally think moving either further away is a smart thing? Think of it this way, right now they may need XYZ to get a championship run established with Rivers. Now take Rivers away. You still need XYZ, and a HUGE A. To me you only make it hard to ever get yourself into championship form by doing that. It would be equvalent to saying we should have traded Marino away in early 90’s. Knowing what WE know about replacing a franchise QB, should be a prime example of why you should only do it if you dont give a hell about the next 10 years.

The logic with Rivers is seeing how it worked for Denver (big boost in team play) I guess with a less able QB (in physical terms) so as long as the team is only a QB away.

I actually thought it was crafty to do that. Understand the lawyer didnt represent Hernandez’s buddy, and Hernandez wasnt on trial for accessory, so that basically throws a big chance at reasonable doubt in there by copping to a crime your not on trial for and sticking the actual blame for what you are on another person. If they have any doubt he actually murdered him, they couldnt convict him. Thinking that maybe someone else did, is that doubt. Obviously didnt work, but i think it was pretty crafty.

Agree with you and steaks. I tend to stick to local places and while I rarely eat steak these days, when I do, I like em medium rare as always and with minimal to no seasoning (just salt & pepper would be minimum to me). I really just like to taste the steak for what it is so that’s where the whole quality of beef & aging process comes into play. Local places at times aren’t sophisticated enough for this but none the less do cook well with what they got and are not crazy expensive. In the end, how great a steak tastes is only a 5-10 minute enjoyment lol.
I don’t eat steak a lot either but when I do I like them with minimal seasoning as well. Most of the time when I have steak it’s when I grill them at home.

Being diabetic i cant have cake, so last year my wife for my birthday made me a “man cake” which was a big hamburger loaf the size of a true cake with cheese between the layers and green peppers and sauteed onions, topped with bacon like this.

It is the A1C-Derived Average Glucose (ADAG) formula:
Measured in MMOL/L: Average Glucose = 1.583 * A1c – 2.52
Measured in mg/dl: Average Glucose = (1.583 * A1c – 2.52)*18.05
Using this formula:
4% = 69 mg/dl
5% = 97 mg/dl
6% = 126 mg/dl
7% = 155 mg/dl
8% = 182 mg/dl
9% = 211 mg/dl
10% = 239 mg/dl
In short, 1% of A1c equates to a difference in mean glucose of 29 mg/dl.
you can eat cake —-it just has to be without sugar…pumpkin and several others. google diabetic cakes and I’m sure you will come up with several.I use splenda .I have tried several artificial sugars but this works best for me.

Ahhh, a day trader eh. I’ve always wanted to get into that with commodities and make money sitting at home in my underwear on the computer.
I used to know an old trucker guy (looked just like David Crosby) that did that, he claimed he averaged about $300-$500 a day. I could never get him to teach me his system…ugh.
One of my buddies did day trading for like three years. He sold his half of his business and then took that money into like seven times more. He got absolutely crushed when the internet bubble crashed, but to his credit he stopped when his net worth was the same as what he started with and said……”time to get a job again, can’t risk my kids’ future.”
He got three nice years out of it though.
Its lucrative but i would say you would want to have at mnimum about 10grand of investment money before getting into it. Will be really slow for a long time if ya arent buying in blocks of 1000+ shares. Also you kinda have to equate it to the idea of playing nickle slots vs dollar slots. You can make a lot of money on the more expensive slots with higher level of volatility, vs going the smaller stock route and making a little losing a little so on and so forth until you slowly build up your money.
Some days are good. Basically you have to be willing to lose 200- to gain 100. U buy stock then you set your limits of what your are willing to lose and u set you upper limit of what you want to sell at. Hopefully u bought at the low point and somepoint during the day u hope it go’s up to your sell point. I buy and try to sell stocks with a daily trading range of 10 cents and if u buy enough you can make some money. IRG is a stock I had no idea about because I just play the daily high/low values that happen all day. I have lost money also but it’s minimized with pre established sell points. That 22 cents from IRG made me 440 but I have lost just as much in single days. investments and trading are risky so I don’t suggest it to people who are not risk takers
me and the wife compete with a pre established amount yearly and I have lost the lost 2 years. She has made some money and last year I got killed as a lot of people have.My stock value lost 50 %plus. I’m doing good this year up 20 something percent while she is down with her tax free municipal bonds and bonds strategy.
JS — glad you and your wife do that. It’s like a casino. Maybe you win and maybe you don’t but the smart people know the most they will lose when they walk in and stick to that.
IAn example of a lose would DRNE drones I bought them last year at 1.0 each and they currently are at 30 cents each. When we settled at the end of last year we decided to keep this stock because it lost 70 percent of its value and it can only go up hopefully.
My buying strategy for buying this stock was because I saw them advertising on tv commericial between cnn shows. I became attached to it and it plummeted.

The way I figure it 90% of the money in markets is managed by pros (who know more than me) and half of them are wrong most of the time. So I’m better off not paying them and just hitting the middle……maybe that is why I’m always a trade down fan. 🙂

You want to just join the market straight, this is a real nice S&P indexed Exchange Traded Fund (and given that is like a stock makes it simpler to deal with) from another of the big names.

I let her handle all the investments from our job 401 plans I’m just a dumb engineering log that doesn’t understand investments. She graduated with a business degree and then got her mba while I quit my mba. I did win our investment challenge 2 years since we started playing.

I use TD America as my trading platform and broker which I never use. They charge 9.99 per trade that includes in and out and then you have our uncle sam that get 8-9 cents. So it basically cost 20.10 to make a trade of buy and sell. I like the color charts and the data base excel filtering research I can do but there are other trading companies that charge as low as 10 bucks in and out. I don’t think the minimum acct start up is more than 500 bucks for any of these companies. Stay away from the penny stocks I’ve been burned several times.Good Luck and keep your risks to a minimum with OCO orders.

NFL Films guru Greg Cosell said Wednesday that he’d pick Zach Mettenberger over Florida State QB Jameis Winston.
Seeing as Cosell said last week that he also prefers Winston over Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, it’s safe to say Mettenberger would be Cosell’s No. 1 quarterback if he were in this class. “Mettenberger and Winston are very, very similar in style of play,” Cosell said. “I’d argue Mettenberger is more advanced as an anticipatory thrower and has a little bit better arm.”
I love Cosell but I disagree with this analysis. First Winston does not have the injury history Mettenberg has and Winston moves much better in the pocket

A third man has been arrested in the gang rape of a woman who passed out on a north Florida beach. The incident occurred in broad daylight last month at the peak of spring break in Panama City Beach. A woman in town for spring break was raped after blacking out behind a popular beach bar and club.
A video recording captured the assault taking place in front of hundreds of spring breakers. Sheriff Frank McKeithen called it “one of the most disgusting, repulsive, sickening things that I’ve seen.”
It’s pretty fucked up how some guys think it’s no big deal.
I was sitting at the lunch counter in the diner across the street from my office today getting some food and the drunk next to me pokes me and points to the TV saying “sssthey convictressssshed that prick finally” and I looked up to see the ticker across the bottom of the screen telling about Hernandez. The drunk then goes on to say “usshe knowss if he waush a Dolphin, every headline about the case would read “Miamish Dolphin, Aaron Hernandezshhh waush convicted of murder. How come they don’t saysh “New England Patriotshhh Aaron Hernandezshh?” “It’ssh like he wurse never part of that team assh far as the media isshh concerned” in his drunken lisp.
I thought for a moment and agreed with him. IF he had been a Dolphin we would still be hearing about his connections to Miami.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Arizona State WR Jaelen Strong is headed to Indy to have his wrist evaluated this weekend.
“ASU WR Jaelen Strong is among players headed for combine rechecks this weekend. Teams want a status update on the small bone in his wrist,” Rapoport tweeted. The Arizona State prospect has a fractured bone in his wrist, and it’s believed that Strong will likely need surgery at some point.

I was just listening to Mike Francesa on WFAN in NY, and a guy very deadpan calls up and says “thanks for taking my call, OK, so now that the verdict came in on Aaron Hernandez and he was found guilty, what does Goodell now, how many games do you think he gets suspended?
I expected Francesa to hang up on the guy, but instead, he chuckles to himself lightly, and says, “That’s perverse, but funny” I think it was pretty funny myself!

McKinney has now interviewed with us like 4 times. Id say they are at least pretty intrigued by him. Again, maybe not most polished guy for a right now plug and play ILB, but he is someone that could start at OLB and eventually move inside i think. Cant teach his size/athleticism. He has what most the other candidates dont.

Isn’t he considered kind of stiff though which to me hurts him athletically. He’s big and fast but not so stop and go flexible.
No, but he does play a bit upright which is bad for a taller guy as it causes them to lose leverage battles if the OL get in on their bodies. I only saw real kind of technique break downs and/or flaws when he was in the middle, so i do feel he needs some development there. Paul Dawson has similar issues and likely would have to begin a career at OLB. Dawson and McKinney pretty close on most points, with exception that McKinney is more athletic, and Dawson seems to have a little better instincts, and commits plays a little quicker.
I still like McKinney best of all the prospects because i think eventually you will get more rom him than the others, each prospect this year is kinda so so, Kendricks is best right now product, but i think he gets eaten alive by RB’s and TE’s at the next level. They are all going to need some work.
His size & strength sticks out. A plan B in the middle if Misi gets nicked up or can’t handle the spot. Don’t forget McKinney can play the SAM too.

The fact we keep looking at McKinney says the FO really wants to stop the run once and for all finally. Suh was the start of all that obviously.
He has an insane 40.5″ vertical for a 6’4 246lb man. That could result in some deflected passes as well.
He has speed to run with RB’s and height to be solid defending TE’s. Id tak him in the second, start him at SAM and get him ready to take over for Misi next year.
McKinney just needs some coaching i think. I havent seen anything when i watched tapes that i didnt think was fixable, but again thats a gamble we might not be willing to take. I think McKinney has potential as a 2nd round selection for us if he makes it that far.
