A Sonny Football Fantasy
NDominant Suh
By son of a son of a shula
Ndamakong Suh is a Miami Dolphin. Has that sunk in yet? I honestly still can’t believe that it’s true, that one of the premiere marquee players in the league and a Son favorite is actually on our team. Well here’s how his first season in Miami played out in this Sonny Fantasy.
It’s late January in 2016 and the Dolphins are in contention to go to the Super Bowl all they need is one more win. Leading the way is a stellar Dolphin Defensive line led by none other than Ndamakong Suh. Suh has wreaked havoc across the NFL in the 2015 season; he’s been by and large unblockable and considered by most a shoe in for Defensive Player of the Year. The first in Miami since Jason Taylor earned the honor following the 2006 season.
NDominant Suh as he began to be called was the main thrust for a Miami team that had trouble passing the 8-8 mark the last couple of years. With 75 tackles, 9 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 2 which he recovered and his pick 6 TD were amazing and he allowed the rest of the defense to make plays while garnering so much attention. Suh consistently fought off double and triple teams to make big plays. It was his presence that allowed a middle of the road defense to soar to dominance.
Suh came to Miami as a free agent with the intention of putting together a Championship laden career and to cement a place for himself in Canton as one of the games greats. Without wasting any time Suh went out and established himself and the Dolphins defense as one of the best in the league. Bringing back memories for Dolphin fans of the famous “No Name” defense opponents found it almost impossible to establish a running game with Suh clogging the interior of the line. Passing wasn’t much easier as teams found themselves engulfed in a relentless pass rush which featured Cameron Wake having his best season as a pro earning 16 ½ sacks and a third consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl.
It was the Dolphin Defense that led the way but a much improved Offense under second year Coordinator Bill Lazor showed that Miami was on the way to being a powerhouse. Rookie running back Todd Gurley who led all rookies in rushing and is in the running for Rookie of the Year was the missing piece for the Dolphins who became a team capable of running the clock as they dominated opponents in time of possession. Another key for the Dolphins was the health and well being of the offensive line which for the first time in several seasons wasn’t besieged by injuries. Ryan Tannehill built on his previous three seasons by turning in his best season as a pro and leading the Fins offense to the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.
In his latest interview Coach Joe Philbin had this to say about Suh, “In all of my years of coaching and being around football I have never seen a more dominant season by an interior lineman.” Philbin likely had his job saved by Suh as he entered the season where many considered it a make or break year for him. With the signing of Suh, Philbin took advantage and put together a playoff squad poised to battle for the chance to play for a Lombardi trophy.
All is well in Miami.
I have a couple of FU’s to give out:
The guy at the store: I’m putting my card into my wallet, you can see that, so you don’t have to shove the receipt under my nose and say “here’s your receipt. FU, I know.
To Apple and this facacta safari browser: Why don’t you have an end button or why don’t you go back to where I was after I refresh. I hate scrolling ALL the way down every time, it’s not even scrolling it’s like finger banging your phone – FU.
And FU to the Patriots, simply on general principal
I agree Tim – You know who works hard? THE NEW YORK METS, that’s who!
LETS GO METS!
LOL
When did this turn into a mets board? When I was a kid I like the mets, I guess, because the family was rooting for them in ’69. After the Dodgers lost Piazza to the Marlins, then mets… I’ve hated the mets ever since.
Naples, Luck is on his way but he’s got a lot more great games to play, a lot more to get there. Shit happens along the way.
Tannehill has beaten Dalton twice, Luck, Cutler, Brady twice, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Matt Ryan, Wilson, Bradford (when healthy), and came within a FG of beating Flacco, Rodgers, Stafford, Newton, and Peyton Manning.
He has broken several of the Great Dan Marino’s records.
All while taking well over a hundred sacks.
I think we can compete at that position just fine.
We need a superstar RB.
You could be right Naples. It certainly couldn’t hurt.
This is an somewhat different mock from mine that I could still enjoy.
14. Miami Dolphins: La’el Collins, OL, LSU
Dolphins are looking for better guard play to help establish a more physical presence up front. Collins is as physical as any lineman in this draft. (Gurley to Ravens)
47. Miami Dolphins: Byron Jones, CB, UConn
Brent Grimes needs a running mate on the outside, and Jones’ supreme athleticism could gives the Dolphins one of the more dynamic CB duos in the league.
114. Miami Dolphins: Chris Conley, WR, Georgia
149. Miami Dolphins: Blake Bell, TE, Oklahoma (I did pick him.)
150. Miami Dolphins: Alani Fua, OLB, BYU (him too as a ST demon)
191. Miami Dolphins: Rakeem Nunez-Roches, DT, Southern Mississippi (never heard of this guy, but I do NOT want a DT but would prefer a Safety here, and these guys have Gerod Holliman still available.)
My biggest fear, lol
You know – my man Shaq seems to have gone AWOL can you imagine getting him on our team with the #47 pick —-WOW
Son I earlier praised you on that NDominant Suh tag. Genius.
I saw that. Thanks
Son who do you want to draft in the first round?
One of the following four and I don’t care how we get him:
White
Cooper
Fowler
Gurley
Son wants special.
That’s how I’m reading this draft. Everything outside of round 1 is gravy.

Dion Jordan’s suspensions in 2014 voided the $5,485,522 of 2015/2016 guarantees in his contract, which makes it easier for Miami to cut him.
I would think it also makes it easier to trade him.
Ugh! Yanks are slapping deGrom all over the park. The streak is in jeopardy.
It happens. deGrom is a little wild and his fast ball and change up are not far enough apart in MPH so it’s almost the same pitch. His slider and curve are also M.I.A.
This happens almost every year the Mets get hot Mike. They go into the Bronx and lose the series.
LOL, they’re 13-3 off an 11 game win streak. It wasn’t going to go on forever.
Son, I always feel the 2nd round has good talent. It’s usually filled with borderline 1st round talent and that next level. After that it usually tails off but still good prospects are to be had. Gotta find them.
If we can land two impact players with our first two picks we’re in good shape.
I think the 2nd RD in this particular draft has a ton of borderline 1st RD talent, all the way through into the 3rd.
I’m not sure about into the 3rd. This is a solid draft, not a great one.
Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
Freddie Gray’s death in Baltimore raises more attention to the fact that the lives of youth black men don’t matter. Sad reality, but truth.
Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
Are we going to have to see a young black male die at the hands of the police every month before we realize there’s a problem?
Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
“@CastleHugo: or a latino too» might sound harsh, but I wish there was another ethnicity of young men being murdered. Don’t hear any stories.

I call BS, Omar has gone too far and has fallen in the race trap propagated by the MSM…SMH!
Plenty of white guys, other races that get shot down by the police as well. Just the MSM chooses to pay it far less attention.
The agenda is division, and Omar has easily fallen right into that ‘black hole’ that this divide and conquer nwo paradigm shift has opened.
Omar, young black men fall at the hands of other young black men at an alarming rate everyday. Harp on that and change that thug culture that you revel in through music.
Exactly…he’s always tweeting about Tupac & Big, etc etc.
His last tweet is really disgusting…”I wish there was another ethnicity of young men being murdered.”

He has beaten Rivers 2x but who is counting
What’s up FUers? So what did I miss today.
We cut Jordan & drafted Gregory.
GD, more black folk need to sit back and realize what they put their communities and the police through in inner city neighborhoods everyday.
I’ve always wondered why when I was in a majority black neighborhood I would have good samaritan black dudes warn me I’m not in a good place. Why is that?
The Popo treats blacks like they do, because they’re afraid of them or at least unsure what they’ll do in any situation, so they’d rather be safe than sorry. Has there ever been a situation where a cop killed a black male where the subject did what he was told to do? First thing a cop does is identify himself, then, if there’s any type of incident, he says to halt. At any time during the incident had the guy stopped his life would no longer be in jeopardy. Why is this so hard to understand for some people, they always think it’s all the cops fault.

Talk to you folks again on Monday.
Omar constantly puts posts out there, that’s why he’s a good read, but yeah I take what he writes with a grain of salt.
Many of us find him comical because he actually works for a newspaper. FFR freaks out that we laugh at it and gets all confounded about it. LOL
I still follow Omar on Twitter just because he is one of the beat reporters for the Phins and I follow almost all of them just to see what info they come up with. I usually take what Omar says with a grain of salt and I never reply or retweet anything of his.
I go to him for intel too, just not opinions.
I skip the opinions.
Who’s Omar that y’all speak of?
Interesting….this is from today, a lil while ago.

Former #Falcons G Mike Johnson worked out for the #Dolphins.
Free agent OL Mike Johnson visited with the Dolphins.
Johnson, 28, spent last year on I.R. with a Lisfranc injury. He also missed the entire 2013 season due to lower-leg issues. Johnson wouldn’t be more than a veteran flier for Miami.
itter
Seems like we are going thru all the retread OGs out there right now.
Competition! You never know who’s ready for a good season.
Ken, I really go nowhere but like here on blogs for opinions because I know some fans know the team better than the pundits. Omar and Perkins giggle like little girls trying to find as much fault with the team as they can. They’re novices and Omar should be much further along by now. Oh well. But he does get intel.
I think Armando gets better intel than Omar.
Agreed, but I go to the people who cover the team. I don’t have to buy into their editorials though.
so son has another football fantasy huh? is there a rating system on what kind of football fantasy we can write about? just wondering, i mean not a single one of his has anything to do with cheerleaders and who the fuck doesnt have a football fantasy without cheerleaders other then him.
I shutter to think what it would be like if FFR published any of his fantasies.
It would be called Tales from the Couch.
FFR freaks out that we laugh at it and gets all confounded about it. LOL

LOL. Great Kirk reference.
We signed 2 OG’s, well one can be an emergency OT, but with the Phins bringing in another guy like Johnson kinda makes me think they’re not totally convinced of Turner and/or Thomas starting.
I know, we can have up to 90 camp bodies.
Go Phins!
I am thinking they are not comfortable with Thomas at all. It has been written that they are pretty high on Turner but even so he is untested so there is a definite need for an OG on the roster. I would not be shocked if La’el Collins is on the board when we pick that we select him.
I think Thomas sucks, he’s only still on the team, because of his draft status.
He is only on the team because the first wave of camp cuts hasn’t started yet.
Why should they be, we’ve counted on guys in similar situations in the past and it’s bit us in the ass. There’s a difference though between covering your bases, which I think is what they’re doing and not feeling confident in the current players.
NFL exec compares Jameis Winston to JaMarcus Russell
http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-exec-compares-jameis-winston-to-jamarcus-russell/ar-AAbDw1e
What a schmuck, any player that’s not put in the right situation has a chance to be a JaMarcus. If Brady would’ve been on another team I don’t think he’d ever have been given a chance to start.
Yes and no. Some guys are going to work hard no matter where they go. JaMarcus Russell could have been drafted by the Pats but my guess is he still would have been a fuck up.
I don’t think so, when we played his Raider teams I always thought they had a chance to win with him in the game, once he was out it was game over. IMO he just needed a better situation.
He fucked up and didn’t love the game enough to work at fixing it.
JaMarcus had all the talent but none of the heart. He didn’t do the work it took to be a great NFL QB. He had the talent to be that but he is a fuck up deep down inside.

ok, the only time i know anything o-troll says is when one of you post it on here. and unlike what tim says. it doesnt bother me. i just kind of laugh at those who are shocked by what he says. his job as a part of the media is to get attention and followers. it is unfortunate that he has resorted to the shock value of a media person. at one point in time he was ok to read. he went the tmz way of being a media person. but hey if it pays his bills and he can get away with it more power to him.
We reply to your shock value all the time…LOL
We need competition on the OL, find the best 5 – we have 3 cornerstones in Albert, Pouncey and James. Big time guard competition in camp this year. Nothing wrong with it.
John Benton has a history of finding long-shots or conversions from tackle to guard. Just some food for thought. Maybe we get a surprise. 🙂
It wouldn’t hurt to invest in the position in the draft either.
Oh I expect we will.
What some of us forget sometimes is that we have some quality skill players on both sides of the ball and a good young QB, but let’s make protection and execution in the running game to allow that skill to thrive an afterthought. If you can’t play in the trenches you will not win no matter how skilled you are. Go back and watch the 1984/85 Super Bowl. It’s the best example for winning.

So, the big news of the night:
Bruce Jenner finally comes out- as a republican.
I would rather hear that Dion Jordan decided to become a big time player.
Well Dianne didn’t interview Jordan, so you’ll just have to deal with Bruce news.
Interesting article:

I read that last night. Interesting we have no games against teams coming off of a bye or ar Tursday night game. No excuses…
I’m not so sure there won’t be SOME excuses, I mean look at how many are still made around here now.
Lol! Excellent point!
Rockets Roar To 3-0 Lead

Brisk spring morning here in NJ. Nice and sunny though, should go up to about 60.
Yeah, 37 here this morning. We had snow flurries the other day…
Rainy here today, somewhere around 70° later today- but stuck inside.
Surprisingly cold for this time of year. It was 37 when I got in this morning
What bothered me most about last nights game was the fact that Pineda consistently threw strike one against Mets hitters, and yet I didn’t see anyone get up there swinging at that first pitch. Once, to Cuddyer, he threw a slider the forst pitch, but every other time I noticed it was a fastball. Gotta be aggressive!
Yep, and again we let the Yankees take the momentum out of us. We need to win the next two!
I had a bad feeling, told my wife that I felt like the streak was going to end. Not because I thought we wouldn’t show up, just because we were due for a letdown.
To me, it’s all about how you come back and play the next day. Hopefully, the team gets back in the groove with the Dark Knight on the mound.
So, who thinks Jordan is trade bait on draft day? It sure seems that way.
I think a couple of deals are already in the works.
Since his guaranteed bonus for 2015/16 has been voided I would think it would be hard to keep him. What I see happening is we’ll deal him for a 6th, and everyone will say WTF, is Ireland still here.
Welcome to Dallas!

#LSU CB Jalen Collins has high upside, but I’d stay away from him early in the draft. Raw talent with injury and drug questions.
Players I want @14
Report: LSU’s Jalen Collins has multiple failed drug tests
Maybe we get lucky and he falls to 14 because of this.
Brian,
I agree. I think there is a good chance jordan is traded on draft day.
Jalen Collins was a boderline 1st RD pick. The drug test failures won’t help him any, but still likely a 2nd RD pick. Too bad we don’t a have a 3rd (YET!), he may fall that far
WYOMING: LOL at dating a female Bills’ fan because she won’t want any rings!!! – – You DO KNOW the “O” in BUFFALO stands for Super Bowl wins, right???

Heading down to south Florida in about an hour or so. I’ll stop off in Boca Raton to see the Old Dominion at FAU baseball game in 95 degree heat then it’s on to Pompano Beach for my brother-in-law’s 75th birthday bash. Talk to you fine folks on Monday.
ONE FINAL OBSERVATION. The Pats’ early season schedule is TOUGH. –They open against Pittsburgh then they play at Buffalo. On weeks 4 & 5 they play AT DALLAS and AT INDY. There’s no way they win all 5 of those games; two losses is a real possibility.
Pitt will suck this yr, no Palumalu, the cheats will crush them.
Boulder
Wedge will be featuring collins today
He will be there at 14
He might even be there in the 2nd round
I say pass
He really lacks experience
I wonder if the Eagles would do our #14 and Jordan for their #20, Mathis and a 2nd.
Word is, if we could’ve traded him we would’ve.
You have to wonder if there were rumors about his suspension last offseason, and that is why he wasn’t traded. He’s got a ton of talent Steve, and he’s young so someone will take a chance on him.
Piggy
I wonder if Boulder temporarily got mixed up with La’el Collins, who’s also from LSU.
That’ s what I was thinking Mike.
Brian in NY says:
I wonder if the Eagles would do our #14 and Jordan for their #20, Mathis and a 2nd.
hell yeah they would take that, it’s rape. If Tannenbaum and Hickey did that they should be fired.
The second gets them from 20 to 14 and then its Mathis straight up for Jordan
Son, Jordan isn’t worth shit right now. His next suspension is for a year, and he’s shown very little over the last two years. My thinking it would give them more flexibility to pursue BPA after filling a need for guard.
Shit, I’d take a 3rd with that too, but I don’t think that will happen!
Zeirlein from NFL.com has a 7 round Mock up
RD1 – LA’el Collins OT/OG LSU
RD2 – Byron Jones CB Connecticut
RD4 – Chris Conley WR Georgia
RD5 – Blake Bell TE Oklahoma
RD5 – Alani Fua OLB BYU
RD6 – Rakeem Nunez-Roches DT Southern Mississippi
I read that earlier. Thought that would make you happy!
Something’s up with Jordan for sure.
Yup. I fully expect him to be moved on Thursday.
It’s very possible and probably with a 3-4 team.
You guys are gonna give me shiot both for being touchy feely and having a “gay guy’s” dog, but I thought this was beautiful.

Awww that’s really incredible.
Stanger weren’t you also the guy that was checking out Ken’s Johnson at the first fest 😉
That was me Steve…….come to the fest and I’ll give you the Ken treatment. And that is both a joke and a question.
So what do you think of Bruce JK
I’ll be at the west coast Fest with Gigi and Phindog, someone else said they were in too.
Nobody is gonna say any such things, Staengerys.
Jahn said he is attending too.
Bri
I like the first 2 picks a lot, the rest, not so much
Yeah, don’t understand Conley there, or Blake Bell for that matter.
What do you guys think about Ali Marpet? To me he seems very athletic, but there really isn’t any tape on him.
I think we met with him too.
Omar loves him after watching him at the Sr. Bowl. He reminds me of the Bears guard Long (I think he’s Howie’s son), who made the Pro Bowl, I believe, his rookie yr.
He had a good combine, but he’s from a VERY small school. That said, he may be gone at 47, and certainly by the time we pick in the 4th.
Nicely done Try
Not too obscure? Can never be sure if it translates like you’d like…
TY. I’d put a bowing emoji if I knew how.
How about a dragon emoji?
Steve
I like Marpet a lot. I think he’s going to be a good NFL player. I think Al mentioned this, and I kind of agree, he’s this years Joel Bitonio
What round do you think he’ll go? I’m hearing 2nd by O and 3rd day by others. If he can start right away I’d have no problem taking him in the 2nd. We can afford to take him early and not start him right away though, since we’ve got a few vets as insurance.
2-3 round seems universal. 2nd if a team really likes him and feels he can start right away.
Mike I was thinking the mets were going to lose to the Yankees, just like the Dodgers got whacked by the giants to end their streak.
Gurley in the 1st and Marpet in the 2nd and the rest don’t matter, and we can wait half a yr for both to be ready, when the schedule gets tough.

Jahn said he is in (hopefully he’ll bring some of the brew)
I’ll bet DrG would go, he’s in Utah but goes to San Diego a lot.
CavKong likely would go too
Sacramento is about an 8 hour drive to SD for Cav.
That’s like from here in Central Fla to Atlanta
I see that Gurley is a popular pick now but I just want to say he’d be adding to a position of strength with Miller. Let’s not act like we have some void at RB because Miller had a really good year per touch. He just didn’t get the ball a lot in a lot of games. If we draft Gurley we better run it more than we have or I don’t see the value in our offense.
Miller can’t handle any more touches than he’s getting, they say he’s in the training room all the time with his limited carries.
Remember Ali Marpet played LT in college 37 starts but is projected at guard at the next level. Could be a good fit at LG and we seem to like college tackles to play guard – Thomas and Turner even though Thomas also played LG at TEN.
He played G at the Sr Bowl and thrived the experts like him at G in the NFL. He has the feet to play T IMO, but I like him at G.
He has that tag of not enough wingspan and arm length to play tackle at the next level.
I wasn’t thinking an LT as game one starter at some point, I was thinking RT in a pinch this yr and possible RT game one starter in the future. Seems like our FO does like tackles to play guard, I think, because when you get an injury you can move the guards back to tackle.
Trivia: Does anyone know who L’Angelo Misterioso is?
No cheating (my guess is Tim may be the only one who knows)
I do know – GH.
I figured you would
I looked it up, LOL, sounded like a made up name.
Steve, I never heard that about Miller. His touches have gone up every year and he’s gotten better every year.
We use 2 backs, not one, so I don’t see the issue with getting the complimentary back. Gurley is more power, they’d make a great thunder and lightning combo. Varga would work too in the 5th, but wouldn’t be as dynamic.
We also have Williams who got better as the year went on especially as a receiver and he’s also a physical runner.
I like Williams as a receiver out of the backfield, but not so much as a runner. We surely need more power back there.
I agree Williams was a bit shaky as a runner but he can improve and he gives maximum effort on every play. The thing is if we’re a 40 pass/20 run team I don’t see RB at #14.
I don’t really get the small school guys not being able to handle the jump to the NFL. I know it takes more time to adjust, but if you look at any teams roster they have guys from all over the lot.
We have guys from Sac. State, Coastal Caroline, North Dakota St., Marist, Liberty, Shippensburg…
True and Turner, Aikens and Fede have upside and are in the plans with us.
So if we drafted Gurley what would the split between him and Miller be? We also don’t know how soon Gurley will be able to play or take on a heavy work load. The consensus is it usually takes a full year for RBs to get back from knee injuries.
Hickey said he looks at the future as well as right now when drafting. I’d have no problem with Gurley, if he could contribute at 90% by midseason. We really don’t need him to get significant minutes to start the yr, but we would need him for the stretch run.
The FO is setting us up to take BPA at #14, and I expect them to do that.
I get that but the RB position has been devalued over the last few years and our offense isn’t focused around the running game but the short and medium passing game. So to me the best value for us on offense is protection and WRs who can pick up YAC.
mike and piggy,
Yup Sorry I got them mixed up. I thought they meant the other collins.
Tom 😉 or Phil
I say no to gurley. We have miller. Just pick up a big bruising back in the later rounds. Go o-line or defense with the first 2 picks.
Do you want to be great or have guys good enough to compete a little above average. You become great when you take calculated risks and they come to fruition.
Like Dion Jordan?
BOOOOOOOOOO!
Any of the NE’ers up for the Washington game? I’m definitely going.
Interesting article today based on our discussions.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2015/story/_/id/12748156/ali-marpet-offensive-lineman-division-iii-hobart-college-surges-draft-boards
We averaged 37 pass attempts and 25 rushes PG last year and 3.5 of those rushes were Tannehill. Just some food for thought.
It’s situational where we struggled like the Green Bay and Detroit games we couldn’t close out by running the clock out.
To a point but we also don’t commit to the running game very much.
Deontay Greenberry
Bri
That would be a fun road trip to WAS. I’ll consider it. I’ll pick up Curious Tim and Piggy and Ken on the way.
Although to be honest, if we actually go to a Met game, that would be my higher priority. I really want to go to Citi Field.

I would love to cater that event
You must of had some pan shrinkage?

Our Five safest picks in the 2015 NFL Draft; Who are yours? – http://nfldraftdiamonds.com/our-five-safest-picks-in-the-2015-nfl-draft-who-are-yours/ …
Amari Cooper – Alabama
Duke Johnson – Miami
Nick O’Leary – Florida State
Ben Beckwith – Mississippi State
Matt Rotheram – Pittsburgh
Good to see o Leary on that list
We should strongly consider him with one OD our 4th or 5th rounders
Beckeith too
Matt Rotheram, Pitt, Sr., G, 6-6, 335, North Olmsted, Ohio
It’s cold out Wyoming
I can imagine some shrinkage after you stuck it with a FORK!
It’s a really nice day close to 60 and clear blue skies. I just put on shorts. 🙂
This is not going to be popular around here!
http://nfldraftdiamonds.com/three-most-overrated-players-in-the-entire-2015-nfl-draft/
Kevin White – West Virginia
Breshad Perriman – UCF
Philip Dorsett – Miami
🙂
Everyone has an opinion.
The writer is an idiot
First he says – Kevin white pushes off a lot…so what…NFL receivers push off more than college.
Then he says White will struggle with the speed of the game…why?
On Perriman he cites the drop rate
We’ve mentioned that before
He’s still a good WR
Dorsett won’t be a first round pick. I don’t know what he is thinking mentioning that as a possibility
Agreed. From what I’ve seen from White he did a lot of things we do in our offense and his size and speed would be difficult to defend. That said he won’t be there when we pick.
We were 22nd in rushing attempts last year at 24.94. If we drafted Gurley that better get up closer to the 30 range which would put us around top 5 range.
I bet drafting Gurley would mean we would run a lot more
We better or the pick makes no sense in the 1st round especially if he’s not ready early on to play or get significant touches.
I liked reading this……puts different nooks and crannies on the Jennings piece of the puzzle.
“With the Minnesota Vikings, Jennings spent most of his time in the slot and was a bit miscast. That said, the Vikings didn’t have any other safer options, and he still managed to average 12.4 yards per reception despite spending plenty of time on the inside. In my opinion, while he has the versatility to succeed in the slot, he’s better off as a “Z” receiver who can move the chains on the outside.”
Article over all is real good and has more insight.
http://nflspinzone.com/2015/04/25/miami-dolphins-expectations-for-greg-jennings/
I see Jennings replacing Hartline, and Stills replacing Wallace. Landry will do his thing in the slot and on the outside at times and Matthews will get in the mix depending on who we may draft at WR. Cameron and Sims along with Miller and Williams will also be involved.
Agree overall except I’m not sure when we line up with 2 WRs on first down and ten whether it is Jennings or Landry. There is something about resting older legs. Plus after the draft we may have a completely different dynamic…….if our favorite Pig gets his way.
This what CBS/NFL Draft Scout is feeling.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock-draft
Gurley sure is the new popular pick for us, but I ain’t buying it. He’s a towards the future pick coming off an injury and the FO (especially Philbin) needs to win now.
I’m with you.
Smoke Screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stanger, I hear ya on giving Jennings some rest but Landry blocks so I think he’ll always be out there. We also rarely play only 2 WRs unless we change that this year. We’re a 3 WR one back offense most of the time.
Maybe we play some 2 TE set this year
Even though we didn’t resign clay
Bring us OLeary!
I think Cameron, Sims and Lynch will be the TEs. Sims and Lynch can block LBs and chip DEs. Cameron is more like a receiver but I admit I don’t know much about his blocking.
Were we lining up three wideouts on most run downs last year? Remember Clay was in the mix then.
Yep, 3 WR, Clay at H-back/TE and Miller. Sims wasn’t on the field all the time, mainly when Clay couldn’t go.
Cool enough. Didn’t realize we went 3 WR so much early. Thought a lot of times it was SIms and Clay on running downs.
Stanger, congrats on having a ‘gay guy’s’ dog.
Sincerely FFR.
LMAO — but I got complete and multi-faceted cover on that…..wife’s choice.
Damn women…lol
I’d get a German Shepherd or a Rottie.
If you want one get one, but a dog like that comes with hassles. A certain advantage to a dog that won’t eat others one and if a hassle starts your can just end it by picking them up.
True, good point. Ok, I’ll get a Chihuahua on PED’s.
I said the other day that all the team forced interest in Gurley is to inspire a trade down.
WOW, so some one says wr White, Perriman, & Dorsett are all the most over rated.
Told ya to draft my guy DGB & Darren Waller 😉
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-dolphins-not-hiding-their-interest-in-todd-gurley-for-a-reason-20150424-story.html
Mike/Tim,
We should really try to lock down a date for a Mets game this season.
I’d be into that, we haven’t lost there yet either so that’s a plus. LOL
Looking forward to seeing Harvey pitch tonight. I think he brings his A game. He was sick in his last start and wore down with that long inning when we scored all 7 runs against the Marlins.
Ditto. Game starts @ 4:05 FYI.
GD, forget your man crush on DGB, do you really see us drafting an unpolished route runner and off-field problem child in the 1st round?
Yes, I want us to draft the worse WR in the draft, F’k Tanny. 🙂
I don’t think he’s the worst WR I just don’t see him as a good fit for us. That said I didn’t think we had a chance at signing Suh. LOL
Ok, all 3 of these guys are weird closet Ho’s….SMH
Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
“@BMarshall: Anyone watching the #BruceJennerABC interview? What do you think?” » great interview. Very educational. Learning a lot.
As a guy with two small dogs, I take offense to that stereotyping. ‘cept as to Jenner of course…..that one is set.
Oops, sowie, I didn’t know BM & Omar had lil ankle biters.
LOL……BM and O are also members of the HMLDLA (He Man Little Dog Lover Association). We’ve all checked out chicks at the meeting together, least when Omar doesn’t have a mirror around.
Looking good @14:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000488133/article/watch-georgias-todd-gurley-shows-off-speed-on-treadmill
Q on rehabbing from an ACL injury ain’t full steam ahead though……it’s the cut.
I thought to myself before posting “I wonder how long is going to take someone to post something about cutting after I post this”!
LOL — guess that makes me either predictable or pedestrian……your choice. 🙂
I’ll go with the former.
I agree, a smokescreen with Gurley could have 2 positives. First, it could help with a possible trade down with one of the teams mentioned above. The second possibility would be for some team to take him ahead of us, which could push another player down to us that we’re interested in.
The only team that would work on would be the Browns, as they have two picks (12,18). I can’t see another team taking him just because we want him.
I was thinking that two…good point….there are some rumors to him going top 10 anyways.
Brian, I wondered if it was a late afternoon game without looking. Thanks!
You got it. It would have been a little disappointing for you to turn on the TV at 7 only to find out the game is over! 8PM on ESPN tomorrow night- Neise on the mound.
Stanger, not saying we never went 2-TE/2-WR/1-RB, I just remember more spread stuff and many times to my disliking but that’s just me. I think Tanny could be lethal with more play-action and bootlegs. He’s probably top 3-5 most athletic QBs in the league.
There is no doubt we did both, but then I’m just going off my memory (which is suspect). I remember times when I said, “we’re starting with three wideouts” and put in who we were playing. But also very well may be that after Clay went down that was SOP.
Gurley could go to a team top 10 in rebuilding mode with their sights set on 2016. We have our sights set on this season. Ross expects playoffs this year and Suh was the confirmation. We have the young QB Tannehill with talent and more upside going into his 4th season and Suh entering his prime entering his 6th season as the premier DT in the league. That’s not we’re close, a couple more years type stuff. That’s win now.
That’s why trading up shouldn’t scare anyone, it’s about adding impact players and winning, not stocking up on fan mock draft prospects along with the 20+ we already have.
