More and more I’m starting to think that the penalty for Brady is going to be 8 games, which, with the help of the PA will be challenged and reduced to 6 games…meaning, his first game back will our first game against them this year.
I personally would rather beat Brady. I don’t look at the suspension with our schedule. The league has to make cheating unacceptable. Doing it to Brady sets the standard.
I get that. But I don’t want to face him in his first game back. Look, this is a game about edges. The Pats historically have cheated for edges, or used perceived sleights to motivate themselves. Whatever this means for Tom’s legacy, he’s still a deadly good QB, and I would personally rather not be facing him when he’s got such great fodder for motivation as showing the world who he is in his first game back.
I would rather win ugly (with Brady out, or at least not coming back for the first time in the season) than lose because one of the game’s greats sees a game vs. us as a superbowl like motivating game.
I guess a corrolary is this: Given your choice, would you rather try to make the playoffs in the AFC East or the AFC South? Same deal with preferring to face someone other than Brady for any given regular season game. I’d rather face Blake Bortles than Peyton Manning too.

That catch was illustrative of amazing hands. I declared pre-draft that White was going to be the best of the bunch, but after seeing the way this kid uses his hands…I think he’s the whole package. I can’t go back in time and change my prediction, but I can make a new one, Parker is going to have the best rookie campaign of that group.

Lat night we went to my friend Rob’s semi-surprise birthday party. It was so nice, he knew he was having a party, just not the magnitude. Lot of people showed, testament to what a great guy he is. He’s feeling pretty good, and although he was given 3-6 months to live, he’s just about at the 6 month mark now, and the treatments are working well, so God bless him, I hope he gets a few more years. It was just great to be there, and meet some of his old old friends from the Flatbush area in Brooklyn, and see him really happy.
Parker did look impressive. I’m really looking forward to seeing those guys in action. You know I didn’t want to discard Wallace, but I think Parker, Stills, Landry and Jennings and Cameron too, are going to make an exciting bunch of receivers. Also can’t wait to see what Ajayi brings to our ground game. That’s one VERY talented 5th RD pick!!!!
I consider our WR corps to be very upgraded year over year, and that’s in spite of me being a big Hartline fan. Stills is more talented (overall, including route running and the whole WR package), younger and cheaper than Wallace. Parker is more talented and younger and cheaper than Hartline. Both guys are more talented younger and cheaper than Gibson. Juice is still here, and Jennings is light years better than Matthews.
Tannehill has to be frothing at this WR corps!

Yeah, it really is. I don’t think it’s possible to “cure” him, but if he can get 10X more time than they originally gave him, or more, that would be good.

Even more amazing (as a guy who actually used to be able to do standing backflips) is the fact that whoever is throwing the ball is throwing it way too low and making it much harder to do. That ball is 8-10″ higher and he makes the flip much more easily. That’s freakin’ impressive right there!

I couldn’t see the OL numbers for shit. Phillips got beat a fair amount on that drill, but then again that drill favors the offense. 2 on 1.
He held his ground, there’s nobody else there to make the tackle. You don’t want to see a guy get knocked backwards in those situations. But it also says something about Savage who’s a UDFA guard competing with us too. That’s football, competition. Good stuff!
Agreed, except for, I could never spot Savage on that video. What number DL was he matched up against?

The fact that people riot when they shouldn’t doesn’t mean this society doesn’t have a shit ton of abuse of power that should be addressed. You’re beating a dead horse at this point. For days I’ve been reading you complain and basically intimate that when police kill a suspect it’s because he deserved it. Well, deserve’s got nothing to do with it. Until convicted, suspects don’t “deserve” to lose their lives.
Certainly there are times when justified force is used and it results in a death, but when you live in a culture and neighborhood where death is a way of life, I bet shit like that would wear you down too.

D, Parker was the first WR I liked and my one knock on him was he used the one foot in to his advantage a lot. But I came to the conclusion that’s the game he’s playing so maybe I made too much of it and he’ll adjust to the NFL game. I admittedly had Cooper and White ahead of him but I hope he’s the gem WR of the draft. The more I see of him he reminds me of a young Michael Irvin.
Great length catching the ball at its highest or furthest point. Smooth playing the position. Not a blow the top off kind of guy but be careful. 🙂
I felt the same way, but came to the same conclusion. Additionally, it just so happened that there were 3 catches or so on his most often played highlight loop where he did the one foot tap, so it naturally makes ya wonder if he’ll be able to do the two footed tap in the pros. Most talented college WRs do adjust to that though, and he’s got pretty good body control, so I’m thinking he’ll be ok.
Parker is nothing like Irvin, as he was a physical WR kind of like Andre Johnson. Parker is AJ Green II.
I also have White and Cooper ahead of Parker but it’s not by a wide margin. I’m glad I can still cheer for White even though I dislike Chi-town. Parker is a very good tool for Tanny which makes me happy.
Jahn, I also think Brady’s first game back will be against us. We’ve been splitting it lately but I would prefer his backup. Either way, like Tim always says, we have to beat them to get this division so…

Far as I’m concerned this is what we have in Parker……wingspan and a good bit of speed. I know this pic would be better for a defensive player and the animal having a bad day ain’t one of our rivals……but it’s still pretty cool.

Funny thing is, I looked a little closer at the pic, and you can see a smaller vulture on the ground, near the coyote (KY-oat). This pic may actually be legit, just a big-ass mother vulture protecting her young from a coyote

It’s similar for the cops Jahn, they see these criminals walk or do little time, time after time, so they take the law into their own hands…Judge/jury/executioner. Maybe the law needs to be changed and make it a little less lenient for repeat offenders.
The US imprisons it’s own people more than any other country on earth. I don’t think leniency is the real problem here.

Are Americans inherently more evil than everyone else? I tend to doubt it. When law enforcement isn’t self propagating (the more arrests made the more jobs justified. The more fines handed down the more jobs justified) we’ll be able to assess where the real problem lies, but for now we’re a bunch of white middle aged guys sitting and passing judgement on “thug mentality” while people in our family are never in danger unless they’ve volunteered to get paid for it (4 cops in my family for the record).
